Sara - ikwym about the different types of nipples - my left one is not as co-operative as the right, but we're getting there, which is a good thing. The other weird thing is that my right side still feels pretty engorged most of the time, but the left one hasn't ever really felt engorged, but as Liam can still hang onto the left for 25-30 minutes I'm figuring it's doing it's job, so I've decided to not worry about it too much.

Zofia - good luck with the cot transition. I can't believe that Diana is a month & a half old - time flies so quickly, it's crazy. Although not all bad to have it go so fast - I have to say I won't miss sleep deprivation and 3am feeds when they get dropped from the schedule.

V - I'm lucky cos Pat is home until the end of next week, which helps immensely. I get him to do a lot of burping action, and he's good at changing nappies, although we tend to go into "turbo" mode, where Liam gets both of us involved in the change process. Also, Pat is the one who does the bathing, cos with my c/s I find the lifting angle required for bathing a little bit awkward, plus it's another really good way for him to interact with Liam. I'm a bit concerned that I've done too good a job of involving Pat, because at this point Liam prefers his Dad way more than me - he seems to really connect with Pat when they're talking, which is gorgeous to watch.

Now that the birth thing is out of the way, I'm now hanging out for the first real smile. Oh - and the umbilical cord finally fell off yesterday, so I'm not grossed out by anything now
