and IK i forgot to add... wait til they are older and you have a poo in the bath incident... it is just wrong. i make DH clean the bath-i can clean up after they puke, i can do anything else, i just hate poo in the bath. I dont know why. And i didnt mean the novel comment in a bad way, just mean it would've taken you a while to type!!
Leave? Simone, you're leaving us for a few hours? NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Oh, ok, go ahead...
Hope you find some 2nd hand shops in your area to help you out (just don't blow your money on the cute 2nd hand outfits they ALWAYS have in those places!).
Yeah, poo in bathwater, we're just talking breastmilk for now...I've got about 3 months left of harmless poos out of Oscar. Reminds me, someone at last night's dinner, after a feed said Oscar had a poo. I asked why and she said she could smell it. I said it wasn't possible cos I didn't feel it (I was holding him in my lap) and that he can't smell cos he's not on solids yet - people who have had kids (and don't have a newie on their hands) forget that little nugget (so to speak!) of information because the breastmilk poo is a blip in the life of a child, I suppose. Why must time march on?? I want to have a bonsai Oscar!
DP got the sewing machine out to do a job on his turnout gear...now it's out...must be used...no excuse...but first, the shopping!
Afternoon all - glad today finds all a bit better. And big hello to Sara - sorry you had to join us on such a bad day yesterday.
I am firmly in the disposable nappies camp, but totally aware that it is having enough $$ that allows me to do that. We tried nappy service clothies when Flynn was younger but I didn't like the way he was so wet all the time. Then we discovered My Planet recycling who USED to recycle nappies for $4.50 a week (they would collect em once a fortnight) BUT now they have suspended their service!! There go all my tree-hugger good intentions! I can only hope they come back on line soon.
Bath, like the story about your name and LOL about Pippin. I really liked "Anakin" as a boys name (not that DH ever did) because only real star wars freaks like me would have twigged that it was Luke Skywalker's dad's name, but now with the "new" movies there is no way I would call a kid Anakin now (friends called their cat Anakin, though - it really suits him!)
Ahhh, Rory, that's where polar fleece liners come into their own! Take off a wet nappy and bits are dry, still with organic talc dry, too. But now I'm being smug Nah, I use both, but cloth where I can help it. Aldi disposables are just great.
I still haven't gone to do my shop...I got distracted by my new Mothers Direct catalogue...and their sale starting tomorrow (might have to organise a drive to Malvern!)
