Well at boobs mine are a huge 16E and when I'm finished having kids and save up the money I will be getting a reduction as well, because right now my back kills me every day, I have to wear a bra to bed cause of them sagging, I'm only 27 and have a really issue with my breasts. I love that they have fed/are feeding my children, but I shouldn't have to put up with the pain. Each to their own, I think, but it is nice that we can talk about these things with each other. Well boy is screaming for his boobie juice so will be back.
hugs xoxo
-
Absolutely, Amanda! Mine got up to a 16E when pregnant and I couldn't see them shrinking any time soon, but they did. Now that size isn't as much of an issue (DD, still big!), I am left with my shape issues...but even that has diminished cos I realise I have this idea of ideal shape from the media. Oscar likes the shape and DP says he likes them, too. My mum had a reduction a while ago - she needed it like you, Amanda - had back probs for years.
back to entertaining Oscar...
-
"it is nice that we can talk about these things with each other" (Amanda)
I agree! :) Well said... i think if people are tactful even the most sensitive subjects can be safely discussed. The world would be a much better place if people made the effort.
Simone: mmmm bangers and mash... might send verity off to the butchers for some chicken snags before he closes....
-
yeah, what a wonderful surprise to see Kel here, I was just thinking of you the other day when I saw my cousin (my cousin also had a boy and a girl) - it is SO good to see you here.
IK - so gald the nose op was well, sorry about the feeding debarcle though... some people just dont' understand how important BF is to us (and to the baby)...
Baths - I'm so into Fly lady its not funny.. that is where I've been - cleaning and decluttering my house! I also decided to buy some new clothes that fit my new figure and lifestyle... now I just don't know what to do with the old ones?????
boob reduction: my aunty had one and her's are now a DD, they look fantastic - my beautican in the US also had one and was REALLY happy with the results, you apparently get a GREAT set after a reduction, so much better than an enlargment.. sadly my AA (currently a B) will not need reduction I'm sure! He hee...
Well, for the last 2.5 weeks Ally has been waking every 2 hours for a feed at night (with DH away Ive been a tad tired), but last night she sleep through! I woke in a puddle of milk at 2am, so I put her on to help my aching boobs, but she did not wake so I'm calling it a sleep through.. can you belive it.. from 4 feeds a night to 1! OMG! Also, she is now sleeping in a cot, not a hammock. AND.. she puts herself to sleep... No more rocking and crying and rocking and crying and rocking and (me) crying every time... I put her down and either stroke her hair or leave and she falls alseep.. YEAH... oh darn.. she is awake... chat soon..
luv you gals!
Hi Mel and Amanda.. sorry did not get to your posts!
Simone - glad Dec is a bit better.. I was reading about his hospital visit...
-
LOL CC! My mum's boobs are a great shape now and that's what I would like to happen to mine should I require the chop! I reckon I might still get it done, but way down the track, just to make sure BFing isn't compromised. I"m sure that if I have the number of kids I want that I will need some kind of reconstructive work just so that I can get around without having to wear 3 bras LOL!
Yeah, this has been a civilised discussion - no-one calling others 'surfboards' or 'pornstars', hee hee! Although, right now, I'm sure there are people who think I am the latter when I'm not with Oscar...
Anyway, CC, that's great that Ally has come out of her 'needy' period - as you may have noticed, Oscar has entered his. I keep thinking of you and reminding myself to just ride this one out, so it's good to read your post about things settling down again :)
Oh, Amanda, you shouldn't need to have to save too much - it's covered by Medicare for back pain :) That's how my mum got it done without having to fork out heaps - a lot of it was paid for by Medicare. Also, like I said, some report successful BFing when the surgeon can do the job without removing and repositioning nipples. Geez, that sounds ouchy...the things we women have to do!
Mel - I got ONE wrap done, the other will have to wait till I've threaded the overlocker. I might do the second one on that and finish it off with the plain machine. I have many visions, I just need to make them materialise!
DP will be impressed, I managed to remember to take out some porterhouse steak (organic, from Aldi - first time, I might still prefer to use the local butcher for meat to satisfy my ethical shopping bent...which kicks in right after I've done the main shop at Aldi each fortnight!)...
-
IK I'm definately waiting until I've finished having kids, I don't want them to stuff up then I wouldn't be able to BF.
Well I'll be starting Cody on solids this week cos on Saturday he will 6mths, boy were has the time gone, it has just flown by not fair.
hugs xoxo
-
Yeah, Amanda, that's what I'd rather do, too :) I mean, if the anaesthetist could miss the whole point of me wanting to BF after my surgery last week, I don't have the greatest faith that I'd be able to feed, despite assurances!
Time has flown way too quickly - doesn't seem like long ago that our babies were rather inert little critters and now they are rolling and crawling...ahhhhh, I feel so old!
got the overlocker threaded, but now DP has gone to training and Oscar is getting upset on the floor again...
-
Amanda, I'm glad you have decided to wait, I would too as BF is important to me. But I can totally understand those who are in so much pain they can't wait. I'm surprised (but happy) that it is covered by Medicare - that is great! It should be too! So exciting starting solids... I read in my handout from the Hospital that you don't need to buy Farax you can just overcook rice? May taste better?????
IK - you will be happy to know that I did not start solids early, despite it all the Nurse recommend I wait till six months and ride through the 2 hourly night feeds. So as I said it lasted 2 and a half weeks, and hopefully tonight will be another good night? (Fingers crossed)... So maybe Oscar will be the same.. Just a little bit more cuddly for a few weeks? Hopefully there will be end sooner even? Hugs to you darl, I so know what it is like..
Mel - we had swimming lessons today too. So much fun and Ally loves it, well she likes it anyway, I love it as their is also a great cafe there and we all meet for coffee afterwards. OK, not coffee, but a HUGE iced chocholate and a muffin.. me bad?
Simone - awwww.. you have been having a hard time with three sick and you with a sore throat as well... I saw this program on the TV where they said that bacteria can not survive in really high temps.. so for a sore throat they recommended drinking really hot (eg: not boiling but really hot) water as it killed the bateria there.... my cure for everything is to also stick some fresh ginger and some honey in there as well... Well, it always makes me feel better anyway..
Going to put some more photos of Ally on her website if anyone is interested....
take care ladies...ohhh.. baby yoga and then mothers group tomorrow so may not check in, but hope you all have a nice day.
-
CC, you look great! I think Oscar has eyes on Ally - he was watching the video intently ;)
-
CC: That video entitled "Rollen" is fantastic! I actually LOL... Ally's face after she completes the roll is so funny! You've inspired me to do one of Niall... he has a slightly different technique. Alos, speaking of inspiration: you'll be pleased to know that for a few weeks now i have been using a plastic tub in my kitchen sink and a bucket in my laundry trough to catch grey water. The one in the kitchen has proved to be amazing in how much water can be collected from simply turning on the tap to wash your hands, fruit throughout the day, rinsing bench cloths etc. When it's full I tip it on the lawns. Now even DH is getting on the act :) Hardly a drip goes down the drain anymore!
It's good how we are positively influencing each other hey?
-
Another boiling day here again! Am supposed to go to Kinder meeting tonight but thinking against going there and blurting out that they are nothing but *****es!If anyone wants to see a recent pic of me go to my home page and then go to the pics!
-
Hey Jess, but just a suggestion: don't burn any bridges with the kinder group... I'm sure there is a high turnover of people within the organisation given that people probably only hang around until their child goes to school... so why not go along and maintain your dignity... soon the bad eggs will be gone and you'll probably be left with the nicer ones anyhow ;)
-
Couldn't make it there tonight Bath, but i will chat to some of them in the next couple of days and let them know why I couldn't make it.
On another point, all of my kids are going to be in their schools calendar for next year. So proud of my angels.
-
Wow, Jess, that's a bit of an achievement! Go Jess's kids :)
I agree with Bath, too - let their pettiness go and get them back by being a productive member of the committee. You don't want to go and give them reason to exclude you legitimately, that's just what I think, anyway.
-
CC - well done with Ally sleeping through the night. You must feel better getting some extra sleep. Swimming is such fun but ours doesn't have a cafe (bummer!). My friend gave me some rice cereal (Heinz brand) in Banana flavour, Apple flavour and a multigrain one. Will try them next month to see which she prefers - they all probably taste disgusting!
IK - get sewing girl! Aldi is great, they just opened a new one near me and the trolleys are so luxurious for the babies and they steer straight!
Bath - we have been doing some water saving here too. We put a bucket in the shower and collect the water as it heats up and just leave it in there to collect more water. At the end of the shower I water all my potted plants. Every little bit helps.
Amanda - I am gearing up to starting solids next month. Hope Cody enjoys his first taste!
Jess - the kids crazy hair looks fun! You need to take a closer picture, hard to see you well in the one you have taken.
Chelsea went to bed at 7.20pm and she asked if she could go to bed! All that playing in the spa today really wore her out. Will chill out and read some mags my friend gave me and I'll pop back later.
-
Im still here, just lurking... Both Xander AND Anneliese have temps in the mid 38's... and DH is p!ssed as i wont "go to bed with him." After what my body went through (and its only JUST finished, this morning) i want to give myself a little more time. But now im only thinking of myself. I cant win. Off to find my choco stash...
IK - pinched your aldi washing powder - not bad!! Now i just have to find an extension for the washing machine hose to put it out of the garden... its a mass of *****les and dead grass!!
Bath - might pinch that idea about the bucket... Dh is always letting the ater run - he hates filling the sink to do dishes, and just lets it run the whole time. Same with shaving and brushing his teeth.
Jess - sorry things arent going to well for you
CC - glad to hear Ally has settled down a little now... Good on you for holding out on solids, shows that wouldn't have been the solution. Hope she keeps sleeping at night for you...)
Anyway, should go tend to Anneliese, Dh is here atm, but sitting on his computer ignoring everyone as usual...
-
Funny how you got moderated, Simone, for describing your garden!! Yeah, I'm pretty satisfied with the Aldi powder. I have to start a grey water system over here - I'm just not a gardener and haven't thought about it, but I reckon I should tell DP to get a move on with it (I keep asking him and he keeps nodding his head but not doing anything about it! It's HIS garden, cos he's the one who plants stuff in it!).
Mel - Chelsea sounds like a doll - ASKING to go to bed?? Do you still have my email address in your phone? Wanna email me so I can have your email in my book? Just remembered your Robin Hood line, too - that's what someone said last night that he looked like! Oh, and I have made more progress on this sling...I've nearly cut out a pattern from my GF's HAB, it's all laid out on the floor while Oscar sleeps in the portacot (and NOT the HAB or sling, oddly enough!).
Back to this sewing caper...
-
Got my big box of 22 guylian chocs out of the fridge, couldnt decide between my bottle of Brown Brothers Crouchen Riesling or milk... Went with milk LOL!!
ETA what do u mean, IK, moderated for describing my garden?? im lost!!
-
Well, for example, if I were to describe a hedgehog as *****ly...is there a line of asterixes? You described your garden as having *****les, but all I saw was ******es...and I guessed what word it was that the censor had a problem with.
Anyway, I meant to say, also (before I went off to extract a large, uncomfortable crusty from my nostril, TMI but it had to be said, didn't it??), Simone, that you are right to 'withhold' from DH right now. You have spent all week and more thinking about your kids and worrying about if DH was going to help you out...I definitely consider it high time you thought about yourself in this regard! I don't get why DH's need to 'get some' is more important than your need to be nurtured through this difficult time and why you have to nurture yourself with chocolates because you're not getting the nurturing from the one person who should be looking after you! That is all I will say, you know how I feel about it, grrr...
-
Simone - poor Anneliese and Xander. I think you need to eat all 22 chocolates and the wine!!!!
IK - will email you now. Keep sewing, the end is in sight!
-
I think IK meant that the word pr*ckles was auto-moderated...
...back in a tick...
whoops... didn't see Ik's post in time... I'm all over the place ATM...
-
Im sitting here with the chocs and milk. I have had the baby monitor in the boys room, as xander has been throwing up abit... but he's here with me, and all i can hear is declan chatting to Normie (his teddy kangaroo) so i better go and have a chat to him, its getting a little late for him to be awake...
Wish someone lived close enough to come share the wine!! I love a bottle of sweet white... We will have to do a girls night out soon, i really need it...
ETA - yeah the auto moderator working overtime again...
-
hey guys,
just a quick one from me, i will be back with more personals soon!
im back from the QEII in Canberra and they were great, Lachlan is now going to bed around 8,he wakes for a bottle at about 11 then sleeps until 3.30 -4am for another feed, then will sleep until about 7. Its not ideal but i can cope with this much better than the every hour i was getting before.
The main thing that they got me to do which i was kind of against before is to stretch out his feed times and NOT to feed him under 3 hourly. This seems to be working. We have also established that i dont have enough milk anymore due to stress and lack of eating on my part so i have decided to fully wean him.
He is now eating solids really well, we have rice cereal with fruit in the morning and some pumkin for dinner at night. I will introduce lunch in about a week.
Anyway girls im feeling a bit more confident these days, im not getting my hopes up just yet but things are looking good. today he slept for 2 hours and 45 mins in the morning and then had a 1 hour and 45 min sleep in the middle of the day and an hour and 40mins in the afternoon. We havent had a 40 min sleep for a couple of days now!
The other good thing is that DF is now sleeping back in bed with me! I feel like a couple again. Im going to start making him do a bit more with lachlan, he needs it and so do i.
IK - Glad everything went well with the nose!!
Boobs - I would love some, i always have had really small boobs and have been to have a consultation a few years ago but like you KEL the things that can go wrong scared me too much, i would rather keep my small ones!!
CC - Glad Ally slept well for you, lets hope she does this more often!
-
OOOh Hi Dee :) That's wonderful news! And I love Lachlan's new ticker piccy! What a cutie!!! Good little man letting mummy have a rest...
geeze i gotta go again... tricky time of night here...
-
Hi Dee! I'm not surprised about your supply - stress is such a culprit, isn't it? I am so glad that DF is back on board, too :)
Oscar woke up and HAB is still on the floor - the dog was lying on it before, so I really need DP to come home!!
-
Now i know why my supply has been crap lately... may have to find some fenugreek. I want to keep breastfeeding a little while longer yet....
Dee, thats so good that lachlan's settled down, sometimes you just need a helping hand... glad it worked out for you
-
Dee- thats awesome things are starting to turn around, i am glad to hear. also great that DH is back in bed with you.
CC- great video's hehe!
Kel- you sound like despite everything you have going on your are holding up really well. I dunno how you do it but you are an inspriation! when u get a spare few seconds (if thats at all possible) can u send us some piccys of your kiddies would love to see them!
well Nixon is still sick.... i took him to the doc again today but thankfully he does not have croup or broncholitis. Just a viral infection but to be on the safe side she booked me appoint for tomorrow just to see how he is doing.
He has only been drinking his first bf fully for the last 3 days all his other feeds are like half feeds. He now has a snotty nose to go with his aweful cough poor pumkin.
Nixon is still on 2 solid feeds a day. He was one 1 feed a day for about a month and now been on 2 feeds for a month. I wonder when i should introduce the 3rd feed? He doesnt seem to be looking for any more thats why i havent started so far but i am quiet sure given to him (when he is well) he'd prob scoff it all!
Little sausage just wanted to sleep it off tonight and fell asleep in my arms about 7.30pm, so i didnt get a change to change his nappy b4 bed... It was changed at about 6pm after his bath but its a snugglers & i always do a last change into Huggies b4 bed time!
I guess Snugglers is being put to the test tonight hey!
ok going to do some scrapbooking.
-
Dee - what great news about Lachlan and DF :) Things sound like they are turning around for you. Lachlan is such a little spunk!
Simone - I'll check if I still have my bottle here as it cost me about $22 a bottle and I would rather you have it than go to waste!
IK - while you've got the machine out, make Odin a new bed LOL!!!
-
Odin has a HUGE cushion I made him! The portacot is blocking his view of the rest of the house, though, so he's creeping in...well, not 'creeping', he's way to obvious for that!
-
hey Mel, we should have lunch and drink it then LOL i like the crouchen riesling as its easy to drink and relatively cheap... about $12 a bottle
Solids - i havent given them to Anneliese again, she doesnt seem to be bothered, so im not. Going to try them again in a few weeks.
Nic - Anneliese has the cough, a runny nose and a temp atm... its just a bug. With bronch i found first they start sleeping more, then their feeds slow down, then they stop weeting their nappies. Hopefully Nixon's on the mend now, and i'll be able to catch up with you on Sunday in Sunbury :)
-
ok i know i am meant to be scrapbooking but i just had to share that i couldnt cope with leaving a Snugglers on Nixon all night!! SO.... i successfully undid his jumpsuit took it off and put a huggies one without him waking up! (very calmly and slowly mind you)
I also gave him some panadol, i put the syringe at his mouth he tasted opened and i put it in he swallowed all whilst asleep! I didnt push my luck with the fess though!
-
LOL nic, well done for not waking him... i put Anneliese in the bonds nighties for her nighttime sleeps, that way i dont have to undo her suits to change her nappies, especially as im leaving her in clothies more and more of the time... Saving so much money, seeing as though i still have 2 in nappies full time (and one in nighttime nappies).
-
Simone - I love a glass of wine, but not the sweet stuff (except a nice dessert wine).
Nic - well done with the nappy change and panadol, he must have been out to it!
IK - that the one thing I miss about Cooper, was his peering inside the house wanting to come in. He'd give the big sad eyes look until he could come inside and we'd alwasy cave in LOL!
-
You know what?? I went to open the wine, and after all that... I dont have a bottle opener LOL. Spose its a sign. "DONT DRINK." Just watching the cows b!tch on biggest loser... need to get motivated and change the channel!!
-
I'm the same Nic. I prefer to have Pat in huggies overnight, they seem to soak up everything and he is dry at next change!
Bella is being a right royal little PITA tonight! Refusing to lay down to sleep, she's sooking atm, soon she will start the screaming!
Been up and down from the house all night, my Aunt just heard the new Westlife song(The rose) and was saying how she wanted the album...I came down here and downloaded the album for her.
-
IK, I know that you dont buy the "its fo me" business but believe me when I say if I ever got one it would be "for me!" I love having big boobs. When I first had the twins they were huge and I just loved them!!Now I still have heaps of milk but not so much boob! I love wearing bikinis and low cut tops and always have. I guess those of us born with smaller size ones want bigger ones and bigger ones want smaller ones. Kind of like the old curly hair syndrome!!!!
Tomorrow if I et a chance and I will really try, i will post up some pics of the twins.
Nic, Thanx for your kind words. Half the reason I decided to ask Rowen to move out is I didnt want to get depression of something like it. Especially for the kids sake. I feel good mentally and physically.
I booked a week in Bali today. Starting on the 23rd of Feb. Staying at the Bounty I think it is. I am going with a girlfriend and I cant wait. I am just scared that the twins will do something super special while I am gone! Rowen is taking the week off so I can go which is very very good of him. (I know, I know, they are his kids too) I will miss them like crazy but just need a break. That is not too selfish of me is it??? Its a week without them and they wont even be a year old. I felt a bit bad as soon as I'd paid for it!!
What do you guys HONESTLY think???
Love Kel
-
Simone - PML about the bottle opener, only buy screw top from now on!!!!
Jess - I only use Huggies too. DH bought some of the Coles brand ones and they are horrible. They don't have any stretch in them so really hard to put on. There are some new ones they advertised in the Herald Sun that are biodegradable and apparently break down to nothing in 10 days! Can't remember who makes them and they didn't say how expensive they were. Hope Bella settles down soon.
-
Kel - GO FOR IT :) You will feel so much better after a break and will do DH good to look after the kids on his own. I think all of us mums need some "me" time and you will come back refreshed and so looking forward to seeing your babies. Don't feel guilty about it, do it and enjoy it! Would love to see some photos of the kids too.
-
Kel - honestly? Really, truly, what do I think about you taking a holiday in February? Why not! They're on solids and they're not boobie fed (are they? did I get that bit mixed up?), so why can't you leave them with their daddy while you give yourself a recharge, if that's what you want? For myself, I don't feel like going anywhere without Oscar cos I want him to share my adventures, but then again, Oscar is my only child for now and I may feel differently when I have 3 LOL! I don't see the 'bad mother' aspect in going away :)
Oh, and you're right - whilst our current culture seems to value big boobs, I guess when you grow up having the opposite it would be a great novelty to have big ones for a while due to childbirth ;) Unfortunately, there is no natural opposite for big boobed girls (like me) to temporarily feel like there is next to nothing there - that would be GREAT! I tell you what, it would be heaven to wear a halter neck bikini without adjusting it constantly to get the weight off the back of my neck...and that happened even when I was a 'mere' D cup, so now that I'm a DD cup, well, it's a literal pain in the neck!
Mel - that Dane nature just kills me, that look in their face that says "well? I am part of this family, dammit, let me IN!" I saw a fabulous harlequin at the market yesterday. DP doesn't seem to believe me that the next best follow up to Odin's nature is a Dane.
maybe I should get those bamboo nappies, being that we don't always use them...I would feel a lot better about my environmental impact...
I managed to overlock some of this sling - better get back to it before I get called away...
-
Honestly Kel, I say GOOD ON YOU! You need some you time and Rowan is big enough to manage with the kids for a week.It is only a week and he might surprise you!
James is hiding something from me and he has the kids hiding it as well. I'm not sure but I think they have something planned for my b'day!
