OMG - 6 pages since I last posted - you girls are freaks!
Sorry I have been AWOL - nephew's b'day party and friends over on Sunday and work photos, day-long city shopping meander and GF's DD's 1st b-day yesterday.
Kel - I can so understand you wanting a break! Honestly I don't think it would be a prob - esp cause they will be with their daddy (ie: a familiar face). I would LURVE to go on a solo holiday right now!
Boobs - ahh, I remember the day when my perky C cups couldn't hold a pencil undernearth them. Gradually I could hold a texta, now I reckon I would hold 72 pack of Derwents!!!
IK - DH put his foot down and said he wants to revert to bamboo nappies:crying: Wish that damn nappy recycling service would come back online - I have got attached to the old huggies....
CC - that is such good news about the sleeping, and Dee I am stoked for you!! Progress is progress - remember that:)
hello to everyone else :hello:
I shoul get to it - I need to "work" work today cause I told my boss I would get a lease to him tomorrow and I am behind in some other files! Simone, I will try to give you a call later today - a bit swamped ATM!!!
ciao bellas
-
quick one - does anyone know if you can freeze mango or banana - bought some cheap the other day and want to keep it for flynnie....
-
Rory - as far as i know you can freeze it... i used to make it up and freeze it in ice cubes though, easier than trying to defrost and then make it up... Cheap banana's?? OMG!!!
Well, had an absolutely rotten night, Xander still has a temp (got up to 39.6 last night) and spent the night tossing and turning and sweating in my bed, Declan just didnt want to sleep in his room on his own, so wouldnt settle, and Anneliese woke up 5 times screaming, and took me ages to settle her. I got up at 5am and cleaned out the kids playroom, it looks good now :) Going to make some bikkies for when rory comes around later on - thinking coconut macaroons... do u like them rory, or should i make some muffins from scratch?? have to make sure i have all the ingredients, as i dont have the car today... I should have a morning tea, i love cooking cake and slices and stuff!! (maybe i should make an apple slice!!)
hey to everyone, will lurk for a while...
-
Good morning girls :) so... are we going to finish this thread today? LOL we're half way there after only one day's posting!
I'm on my way to PlayGroup today... then a bit more Chrissy shopping so I might not be online much.
Kel: As always my honest opinion is that a week away will not harm your babies... infact it's probably the best time to go before separation anxiety sets in. I was reading last night that this develops at 6 months and lasts until they are 3 yo... I didn't know it was for that long... Verity didn't seem to have a bad case of it... Wade certainly does.... wonder which way Niall will go. Anyhow, I also believe in letting men have long extended periods of caring for their children. An hour here or there doesn't really give them a true idea of the relentlessness of it... what it's like to be constantly on-call and constantly vigilant... even though a baby is simply crawling around on the floor it is mildly stressful knowing that something bad could happen in a wink of an eye... might they find something and pop it in their mouths? Will they roll over and injure themselves on a sharp corner? the list goes on... men don't always get that... they see you sitting on a couch watching the baby crawling on the floor and think "she's doing nothing, why does she say she's tired all the time???" Also I don't think they realise how exhausting it can get lifting them for nappy changes/baths/into prams/into cots... I know my DH finds it tiring and of course he would: his "normal" day is spent sitting at a desk lifting nothing heavier than his briefcase/phone/pen! I always think it's a bit of a joke when a man thinks he's doing a mother a great service by lifting (eg) a heavy bag of groceries because she's the "weaker" sex... then he goes off leaving her to lift a 20kg toddler... anyhow, you gotta appreciate their efforts I guess.
Ok... better go or we'll be late... have a lovely day girls :)
-
Well ladies, i've decided im cooking today - making coconut biscuits, cheese muffins and thinking about making potato/pumpkin soup. Mum has the best recipe... might have to wake her, she's 3 hours behind and i wanna make a move!!
Bath - have a great day!! Dont spend too much LOL
Rory, my kids are disease bags, you dont have to come around if you dont want to... But ill have lots of food if you do want to visit!!
Anyone know what to do with a screaming 5 month old?? She wont stop crying... Even when i hold her (she just scratches me). I dont know whats wrong with her... She's been like this since last night. I might have to get some panadol or nurofen into her, as something really isnt right... I KNEW i shouldnt have lent my car to DH today... Things only go wrong on the days that im carless!!
I might go bake now, take the kids outside for a picnic... if anyone wants to join me, you know my number :)

Ok thanks evertone I feel so much better about Bali! I needed to hear from other Mums. But now I am super excited.
Have to get Mia to school. Be back later
Love Kel
-
Kel- It is so good to see you back, I am so sorry to hear about you and Rowan. I think you deserve huge hugs and pats on the back for choosing to put your mental health first- I hope that you can work things out if that is what is meant to happen. As for Bali, I say go for it, you will have a ball- I stayed at the Bounty a couple of years ago and it is a great place for having drinks and relaxing by the pool. And remember if it comes down to it Perth is only 3 hrs 40 mins from bali, so you would actualley be further away if you went to syd or Melb.
Dee- I was only thinking about you the other day and wondering how you had gotten on. I am so glad that things are on the improve for you, it must be such a relief after all this time to have found someone to help, and to finally be getting some sleep.
Nic- I also have a Huggies obsession at night, I can't go to bed knowing that she isnt wearing a huggies because I am feel like the next time I get up to her she will be laying in a sodden nappy. Sorry to hear that Nixon isnt well, poor little sausage.
Simone- sorry to hear that you are still struggling with sick kids, it has really been a rough trot for you latley.
IK- Glad to hear that your op was succesful and you are recovering well from it.
Bath- Enjoy your christmas shopping today- have you got much more to do?
As for us, Tori has cut her first tooth and I am pretty sure that she has another on the way because she is still drooling like a trooper and a bit grumpy over the last few days. She is trying so hard to crawl but still can't quite manage it, she only manages to go round and round in circles.
I have a job interview tomorrow for a 2 day a week job share appointment in a year 1/2 class, which will be just perfect if I get it .......so keep your fingers crossed for me.
Anyway I had better go, Tori is trying to chew my shoulder off so I had better go and feed her, I hope that everyone has a great day.
-
Morning everyone, you guys get moving so early and so much to catch up on already!!!! We got up at 8.30 this morning, Chelsea slept in and so did Marley - love it!!!
Bath - enjoy playgroup and shopping. I still have to pick up layby's and other bits. Will maybe do it at night with no kids, much easier.
Rory - what are you doing up so early, your post was at some ungodly hour 6.40am!!! The down side of working from home is actually getting work done. Hope you get some done today but the allure of home cooked goodies from Simone might be too good to refuse!! I used to freeze bananas in their skin. Mangoes you puree then freeze. To keep bananas for up to 2 weeks, you wrap each one in tinfoil and place in fridge (either ripe or unripe), when you want to ripen it or use it, take out 24 hours before you want it. Something in the tinfoil prevents it from ripening. Good for when bananas are cheap.
Simone - you cooking goddess! and with sick kids too! They all sound so good, if I lived closer I would be over for a cuppa. Hope the panadol gives her some relief, not nice when they scream. They boys should feel better soon.
DH is not working today (hooray!) so we are all going to Jells Park this afternoon. They have a couple of different playgrounds and ducks in the lake. Shame it is not near public transport as it would be a perfect place to go for a meet up (with all the kids, not just babies). Will make sure I slip, slop, slap and wear a hat as its quite warm outside. All washing should dry today!
Have a great day :)
-
Whew, i just finished cooking Potato and Pumpkin soup, coconut macaroons (except they didnt keep their shape, the oven wasnt hot enough...)and i also made cheese muffins to go with the soup. I had a yummy healthy lunch!! BIL came over while i was making it, and i had to promise him some soup... He reckons he should've married me LOL!! Finished just in time for desperate housewives...
-
hi girls,
Kel - hello, I say go for it if you can....you will probably be a better Mum when you get back! (not that your not good now, but YKWIM) he hee!
Rory - I always use frozen bannana's for bannan smoothies (that are better frozen). So I'm sure you can freeze them both...
Simone - maybe a bath for Annelise? Ally seems to calm down in a bath - or take her outside? good luck honey.
Dee - your back, need to go read your posts, sorry I'm really behind at the moment...
just a quick one from me, Ally slep in 2 hour lots again last night.. yawn...but trisillian just called, they are coming over this afternoon so going to clean my house a little.. Ally has only had one 30min nap since 8am, so she will probably be alseep with the nurse gets here!!!! typical!
must run - hope to chat tonight?
-
I gave Anneliese a bottle, and she had a sleep... Maybe im not making enough milk for her?? Ill feel so guilty if im starving her, even if it is unintentionally... Anneliese has got the runs really bad now, so maybe she just had a tummy ache. Anyway, better change her bum, she smells sooo bad.... LOL
-
hello
Its taken me ages to catch up and 7th Heaven (TV show) is about to start so I'll try and be quick.
I'm still sick and on AB's got a virus and laringytis (sp?) Missed my mother's group this morning 'cause I don't feel up to it.. Anyway Aleise asleep atm so enjoying the time to myself for a change.
Its getting really hot up here! Will have to get that aircon installed in Aleise's room quick smart! Bought her a wading pool with a shade cover on the weekend and I'll have to email the photos when I get some time - she loves it!
Got a letter in the mail from our church today and they want to publish our Baptism photo in their new web newsletter - how cool is that? I thnk its because the priest looks good and Aleise has a lovely dress - it was made from the remaining material of my wedding dress which was 1996! Pity I look fat in it but we'll give permission for them to use it.
Boobs: Well since being pregnant and even now (although I'm not BFing)I've gone up to a D cup and am happy with that. My mum has large boobs and has always hated them and she had back problems too. I'd really like to get my thighs vacuumed and a bum lift but don' t have the spare $6k and there's no way I'd trust o/s surgeons to get it cheaper.. oh well one can only dream. .. Still working on the WW diet but am still the same weight. I've told inlaws I want $$ towards a gym membership for Xmas. We got their wishlists already - I won't elaborate 'cause 7th Heaven is about to start in 5 mins.
Will post again when I get the chance.
Stay cool everyone!
-
Hi There,
Neeny - I hope you feel better soon, there is nothing worse than being sick when its really hot!!
CeeCee - Good luck with Tresillian , let me know how they go, i can totally sympathise with the lack of sleep issue!
Simone - Potato and Pumkin soup sounds yummo!! you sound like a bit of a cooking wiz like Bathsheba!!
Ali - Hooray for Tori cutting a tooth, i think babies look adorable when they have those little teeth down the bottom, its a terrible time though! Good luck with the Job interview!!
Kel - I think a holiday is a great idea and no it will not harm the children at all, it would be good for them to spend time with their daddy and you will have a wonderful time, make sure you pamper yourself too!!
Well, we had another pretty good night last night, Lachlan was in bed at 8pm and he woke at 10.30 and was wet through, so i changed him and tried to give him some of his bottle but he wasnt interested so he went back to bed then woke at 12 to finish his bottle then slept until 5am!!this is massive for him, he then slept until 7!!
Cross all your fingers for me girls that this is his turning point :crossfingers:
anyway best go, im actually trying to get some housework done, im about ummm 6 months behind in it!!
-
Im not quite the domestic goddess Bath is, but i like to try...
I got a parcel today (Gotta lurve ebay!!) for $7.50m(plus $8.80 p/h) i got 5 pairs of socks, 3 headbands, 3 outfits, 2 tshirts and a could of other things i cant remember... all are in pretty good nick. So im about to go give my feedback... Only thing i wasnt happy with was the postage was only meant to be $5, and after i had "won" i got a message saying it was $8.80... dodgy..
-
Hey all - back on board
I am pooped and carless, so simone I can't make it today :(
gonna try and sleep - if boy will let me!! waking at 5am to do work from home only works if you go to bed before midnight - LOL
zzzzzzzzz
-
Thats ok rory :)
Just relaxing atm, cooking done, kids are sleep (except for xander, who's in bed with me)...
-
Hiya Simone... I was just going to say that's a bugger about the wrong postage ammount... we actually don't bid on items outisde of Melbourne because we refuse to pay the extra postage. We drove to Croydon to collect the recent Duplo train set we won for example. Takes a bit of patience waiting for the item you want to come up for auction in Melbourne but I reckon it's worth the wait.
PlayGroup was good today... also went for lunch at a cafe with some of the other mums too... then on my way home I saw that the people across the road in the duplex house had put a set of shelves out for hard rubbish collection... and the new dad in the other side was standing in his front garden with his baby. I introduced myself and we got talking and their little boy was born the day after Niall at the same hospital!!!! They are first time parents and we haven't seen much of them but they seem really nice.... they've only been there for a few months too. Looks like Niall will have a new playmate! Gotta invite the mum to our playgroup too. Oh and the dad helped me carry the shelves into our front yard LOL I'm such a shameless scab! ROFL it will be good to store stuff in our garage.
-
grrr - just when I give up trying to sleep the little bugger settles down for a snooze
so tired......zzzzzzz.......
-
Have a good sleep Rory
Score Bath!!! I love roadside collections... Im shameless too :S
-
Jells Park was beautiful. Chelsea enjoyed playing in the lake (she wanted to get naked and go swimming but mummy wouldn't let her LOL!) until the ducks started to come over. She doesn't really like birds! Had an icecream and then Marley did her first roll from back to tummy YEAH!!!!!! DH didn't see it, but she did it very well, apart from trying to get her arm out which she eventually did, then tried to eat leaves and grass - her face was priceless I wish I took my camera.
Rory - hope you get a rest and make sure you go to bed before midnight tonight and try to get a good nights sleep.
Neeny - sorry to hear you are not well, must make it worse in the heat. Glad Aleise likes her pool, they are a great investment. How lovely about the photo. I bought an exercise bike and I love it - try to get on at least once a day. I joined a gym after Chelsea but it was always busy and I hated the looks I got from the young stick figures!!! I found it much easier to exercise at home, I usually pedal in my pyjamas at night (good look). Keep up the good work on WW.
Simone - is Anneliese any better? I hate buying from ebay when seller says they also charge a handling fee - I usually avoid them. How hard is it to post something. When I sell I only charge whatever the bag costs. Glad you liked the items you won. I am still taking photos of stuff, but would like to get it on before Xmas for some extra spending money!
Bath - you scab LOL!!!!! I too am guilty of checking out roadside stuff, but haven't found anything good yet. How nice of the new dad to help. It is amazing how you meet new people. Hopefully you can impart some words of wisdom to them.
Dee - great news, my fingers and toes are crossed for you!
Off to plan dinner, not sure what to have? Any suggestions?
-
LOL at the image of you pedalling on your exercise bike in your jammies Mel! hahaha... if we had one the kids would always be fighting over it! I'm actually thinking of getting myself a real bike at some stage... Verity could share it! She's almost as tall as me now! Have something cool for dinner... reckon it got over 26'C today... but maybe that's just my heat-hating estimation off the mark. I ended up making tofu noodles and salad last night... the tofu was in a sweet chilli sauce... my kids love spicy food...
better help Niall... tad unsettled today... his second tooth came through yesterday too.... now he has 2 at the bottom.
-
Bath it's not a pretty site!! I love tofu but have never cooked with it, did you buy it already in the sweet chili sauce? Something cold would be nice, maybe BBQued something? I definately felt hotter than 23 today, will be interesting to see what it actually got too.
Congratulations Niall on cutting your second tooth!
-
HOT here again today!
I got stung by a bee this afternoon...on my lip and chin!!!!!!!I am in sooooo much pain.
Pat has been whingy all afternoon and DH is still keeping this bloody secret from me. Sooo funny I just asked Kate what was planned for my birthday, so she said nothing. I tricked her by saying Dh had told me!!!!!!!! Bad mummy I am hehehe
-
Tofu: I just buy it plain in a large block... dice and add to stir fried vegies then add the sweet chilli sauce while the noodles are cooking. So easy. I avoid silken tofu though... it breaks up too easily. I also buy the organic stuff... can be expensive but i buy it when on special which it was at Coles last week... still, it's much cheaper than meat and is a good source of protein without the fat. it's an acquired taste and it's good to get kids onto it when they are young... they generally love it in a mild satay sauce to start off with.
Finally Niall sleeps! He's been awake since noon! A very long stint for him.
Ok... promised Wade i would let him watch Thomas on the computer... he loves the Thomas songs and sings along while watching the clip... pretty "coot" <--- his way of saying "cute" LOL.
-
IK & Baths: Oh my, those video’s were up ages ago… but thanks for looking!
Baths – I’m v. impressed that you now use your grey water.. You go girl – it is good for your children as well that you show compassion to those who can not speak (the birds and the tress). great about your neighbor, that is really pretty cool. Where I live there are loads of new Mums today in Yoga I met a girl who lives two doors down! (I’m a shameless scab too, but I think people like that their stuff is going to a good home, nobody likes to see stuff go in the bin!) Last week there was a 1 & ½ person couch on our corner so my DH and his friend tied it to the roof of his car and took it to my GF house (she has nothing)… it was pretty funny!
Jess – I had posted before but it got lost, I wanted to say that decisions about ‘positions’ are often made on other circumstances beside the candidate, so there is a 99% chance that is was not based on the type of person you are, or your children or anything to do with you, the people who make the decisions often have their own agenda’s – so although it is hard to not take it personally, it is highly likely that it was not personal IYKWIM? Hope your lip feels better. That happened to my friend as she was drinking from a can and the bee was in the can.. is that what happened to you?
Mel – OMG I can’t wait for the day Ally asks to go to bed! Sounds like you had a magic day, with a roll and all!
Nickers – awwwww.. sorry your little man is still sick.. poor little tike. Hugs to him. “I didnt push my luck with the fess though!” LOL
Simone – do you think the formula gave Anneliese the runs? I think it is maybe more likely to make them constipated? Hope she is better soon.. glad the cloth nappies are working out for you too... welcome to the nappy nerd club!
Ali – OMG, so much news from you.. teeth, job interview! It is all happening at your place!
Neeny – hope you feel better soon honey, nice that your in the Church newsletter.. we are having Ally ‘blessed’ on NYE, I can’t wait. We picked up her dress yesterday.
Tofu – I buy the pre-marinated stuff (Thai is my favorite) that way if I’m hungry I eat it straight from the packet! So yummy!
Dee – I’ve been waiting for your post!!!!wow.. I’m so glad QEII was so good for you. Sorry about your milk, however, you nearly made it to 6 months so that is a HUGE achievement and you should be super proud of yourself! Please keep us updated as those long naps sound amazing! If you can think of any more stuff that you could share please email me as we are have some troubles here… oh and re: housework, a few of us are onto this thing called Flylady. Do a web search it is GREAT.
So the lady from Trisillian came to our house today.. she was super nice, pregnant with her 4th! She was pretty flexible, but told me to stop BF to sleep, to wrap, to get rid of the mobile, to feed then play then bed, to only feed at night once or twice at say 11pm and then 2am then 5am rather than each hour that she wakes... so I will start tomorrow... she also recommended I stay home for a while to get into a routine... that part is going to be hard for me as I live for my Mothers group meetings... oh well, I will see how the other things work first before I give up my social life! Oh, super typical, Ally was alseep when the lady arrived, then slept for 90mins while the lady was there - she has only done that like three times in her whole life! Made me feel like I was making it all up! Tisk tisk! well, off to watch the idiot box... nighty night girls (wish me luck tonight).
luv

CC- Funny enough, I was standing at the car window chatting to James after picking the kids up from school. All of a sudden I screamed get me some water! Tim threw me his water bottle and I poured it over my lip, then I looked down and saw it was a Bee. Yelled take me home now, got home, jumped the fence, ran into the house passed my aunts, opened the freezer grabbed the peas and shoved them on my face! I must have looked funny, cause my Aunts started laughing.
Still swollen now, very sore(James tried to kiss me!) and I look like I have a fat lip!
-
MIA today, but for a good cause...I finished the muslin wraps and the sling! Woo Hoo to me! I can send them tomorrow morning, I am SO relieved.
One more sleep and this splint is off.
This is more of a hit and run post, cos DP has just served up a fabulous looking pasta...
-
Hi everyone,
I tried to send some pics but not sure if everyone got them. or even if anyone got them! My auntys puter is a pain in the buttt!!! Let me know if you didnt and I'll try again!!!
Love Kel
-
Bath - thanks for the tofu tip, which area of supermarket is it in? I will look out for it and give it a go! And I love satay.
CC - kids love making liars out of us! Glad you found the lady nice and helpful. Sounds like a good plan, hope Ally goes well with it. When Marley was born, I stayed home for 2 weeks (I was going crackers by then!!!), to get her settled into some sort of routine and thankfully it worked and she still has a fairly flexible routine. Speaking of tofu, do you get your marinated one from supermarket too?
Jess - bummer about the bee sting, must have hurt like hell!
IK - big cheers for you! What are you going to do with your time now they are finished LOL!!! Hope all goes well with the unveiling of the nose tomorrow. Was pasta yummy?
-
Hey Mel,
let me know your e-mail and I'll send you some pics too!
Love Kel
-
Thanks Kel, I just emailed you so you have my address. Simone & IK gave me the Junies email list. Can't wait to see the pictures!
-
I am soooo ****ed off at the moment.
Why may you ask???
Because my so called best friend came around about an hour ago and told me that she was OFFERED a 4 bedroom house today through rural housing! Why come around and gloat when you know that your friend is living in a caravan. They have 5 children and I have 6...the only difference is they are already through Housing. I mean its ridiculous!
We have been told that we can't get a house because we have a debt, but she told me not 2 months ago that she was at risk of being evicted because she was behind in rent. They have also installed an air conditioner without housings permission. I'm sorry ladies but I am just so angry that I had to let it out.
-
Are you sure she was gloating, Jess? Maybe she just wanted to share her good news with her best friend? Obviously, you know her better than we do, but try to make sure your own frustration with housing doesn't cloud what might just have been 'good news sharing' on her part :) It may be one of those situations where you aren't privy to the reasons she's ahead of you, like those waiting rooms with signs that say "We provide a range of services, so if someone who arrives later is seen before you, it may be because they are receiving a different service, thank you for your patience" kind of things (I had this at Monash Medical a few weeks ago!).
Mel - there's HEAPS more to turn my attention to LOL! I still haven't whipped out my El Cheapo acrylic paints and equally El Cheapo wooden shapes from the local bargain shop - I'd love to sit out and paint tomorrow arvo after the hospital appointment.
I did something silly before. I thought I had a crusty in my nostril (TMI warning) so I thought I'd coax it out with my tweezers, as it appeared to be right near the tip of my nose. Ahem, it was attached to a stitch...which I duly pulled away and was left with a thread hanging out of my nostril - I have no idea where it was supposed to be, so I just cut that end off and tucked the rest back in! I'm such an idiot- it didn't hurt so I just kept tweaking...d*ckhead! But don't worry, girls, my nose is still hanging on LOL
Kel - great photos! I love the holding hands :)
Bath - last collection I saw nothing of interest, but I've been known to pull of a piece here and there!
I've gone blank again - I"m tired after my marathon effort with these sewing machines...
Tomorrow I'll be light on here - ABA in the morning, appointment in arvo and hoping to be in the backyard after that :)
Night all...
-
well Nixon was a bit unsettled last night, he woke at 3am then 4am and done a big poo was then wide awake. Took me an hour to settle him then he woke again at 6am, i couldnt be stuffed trying to settle him so i brought him in with me!
Then this arvo i noticed one of his top teeth is starting to cut through. So poor Nixon has a snotty nose a horrid chesty cough and a tooth pushing through! This will make it tooth number 3 and i rekon it will be cut in the next few days.
Havent checked my e mails yet Kel, looking forward to seeing the pics Thanks.
I indulged at Myer today buying xmas decorations! DH got some extra money from working his butt off so we are going to buy a good fake tree (figure we are going to have it for many years so mose well buy a good one once) & i bought some nice deco's. Going with the white xmas theme and copied (for anyone who's seen the trees in myer) the blue & ice one. Got some really nice snow flake ones and very pretty blue ones, now just gotta buy the tree and excited to decorate it.
hmm what else... oh dh looked after nixon while i got my butt to the gym and did a step class! I bet i will be sore tomorrow....
Jess- maybe your best friend wasnt trying to gloat as such but just didnt think about your situation at the time cause she was so happy herself? It is a bit insensitive but if she is your friend i am sure she wouldnt want it to hurt you. ouch on the bee sting, on your lip/chin too thats nasty.
-
Yeah I know she was probably excited but she came around at the wrong time and when I walked off she didn't even ask DH what was wrong with me. All through my pregnancy she totally ignored me and even now if I go around she talks to Dh and not me. Come on I'm not that stupid!
The worst part was that she came TO the caravan and sat in the car out the front and made me come to her! I love her and her partner to death , but they know what we are going through and they still hurt me.
-
Sorry, Jess, I don't quite understand - are you saying you think she's hitting on your DH? I'm not very clear on what she's done wrong exactly, sorry! It seems, from this side, that you're a bit cut up about housing making you wait till Feb and because of the issues they have with you you're just finding it hard to be happy for your friend. If this is the case, then that's perfectly human :) You'll want your friend to be happy for you when your number comes up, so maybe just pretend to be happy and pretend that you had a hormonal hissy fit tonight? It just seems to me that you're displacing your anger at Housing onto your friend. Like I said, we don't know her, but you've vented about her here and this what I hear...sorry, I can't help you dump on your friend because you'll feel bad enough when you've made up, without having people she doesn't know dumping on her, too IYKWIM!
I think I'll have a drink, try to put the boy down and fold nappies then bed...I know, I thought I'd be off for the night, but I gravitated back to the laptop!
-
IK - glad your nose is still there. I am sure the doc will pull it out tomorrow, probably with the same type of tweezers LOL!!! I have been making up photo frames for my friends with newborns (there has been a few lately!) that have their name on it and I attach funky little things like coloured buttons etc. My friends son is 1 month on Thurs and I still haven't done hers - might do it Thurs as it will be far too hot to even step foot outside the house.
Nic - poor Nixon, triple whammy! Hopefully the third tooth will cut soon and give him some relief. Marley has a very red face tonight and felt hot but no temp - not sure what it is, maybe teething? Your Xmas tree will be beautiful, I know which one you are talking about as I did the rounds in Myer last week. I loved the hot pink, black and silver. A house always looks so festive with a great tree. Ours will go up on Friday with the theme of burgundy and silver. Go girl with your step class - my motivation levels have been a bit low lately.
Jess - hopefully your turn will come soon to shout your good news. Don't let it upset you.
Simone - where are you honey????
-
Hello everyone
Mel - im here, had a big chat with Dh tonight... i feel like he just wants me for one thing, and after all i've been through lately, "thats" the last thing on my mind... Its been well over a month, but its still not something i really want right now, and he seems to think im getting it somewhere esle (WHAT THE!!)
Jess - sorry you got stung... sounds so painful!!
CC - hopefully things start settling down for you so you can get back into your social life... The only social life i have have is when i meet up with the junies LOL!!
I dont think formula has given anneliese the runs, as she's been on formula since birth (while i was only making colostrum they had to give her something) and while she is mainly BF, sometimes i have to give her a ff to top her up, as my milk supply is pretty dodgy. She's been vomiting up every feed since lunchtime, BF or FF, so ill just see how she goes overnight. Hopefully she doesnt get dehydrated, the last thing i need is a trip to the childrens, as although declan's better (FINALLY!!!) Xander is really sick now, the flu and has bad conjunctivitis. and i told DHS where to go last week, so they'll be looking for a reason to jump onto me... I just told them i didnt want to have a "protective planning meeting." They have had nothing to complain about, they should go pick on the druggie and the people bashing theit kids, not poor ole me, who got dobbed in for nothing at all!! i rarely drink (and never around the kids) i sometimes smoke (and not the wacky tobacky, just the regular, over the counter ones LOL) and i never EVER take drugs. My house is ALWAYS tidy (well, mostly always :D) the kids are always clean, fed and in decent clothes, so what more can i do as a mother?? Im sorry to go on, but i just dont know what to do about them anymore...
You know what?? I wish something would go right for me. I came to Melbourne in the hopes of starting a new life, and instead i've broken up with my hubbie, been left a single mum of 3, and i have no family at all over here... I just dont know what to do anymore. Im sorry to go all "sobby" of you guys, i just wish something would start going right for me... Maybe i should get out of the house tomorrow. Bit hard with 2 sick kids though...

IK- I'm sorry that I have confused you.. She isn't hitting on him, but she makes me feel like I am invisable. You know talking about me like I'm not there(How's Jess? I mean to catch up with her, but I never see her!). I have said something about it but am ignored so I don't bother anymore.
The point is she doesn't need another house. The house she is in has 3 bedrooms and even though she has 5 children, most of the time the four older children stay at their fathers place.I guess I am also upset at the fact that she really doesn't need housing as she does own a house. Her ex lives in it , but she pays the rates on it.As you stated hun, I am annoyed with housing for doing this, but at the same time she didn't need to come around and tell us like she did. A bit of discretion was needed.
ETA: Simone.
DHS are crooks, you know that and so do I! Try her on water and see how she goes, Patrick did that last week, so I gave him a bottle of water and he was much better. Protective Services promised me that they would look into getting me into a house and I am still waiting.

Teeth - Oscar has a cerrated edge on his top gum, on the inside edge...there's definitely some action there, explaining his sookiness, poor love! Of course, it's so onerous for me to pick him up, cuddle him and make him smile ;) Ah, well, that's my job now!
I hear ya, Mel - was thinking of going to the IR rally, but if it's gonna be that hot I won't be wearing him in one of my slings (an Ergo carrier, yes, but not a HAB and the shoulder sling would kill after 2 hours!) and it won't be very practical to bring a pram. Actually, why not? It's to fill the 'G'...I could hang out on the pitch! It's meant to be over by 10am, so we might be ok. I wanted to drive in to a Dandenong line train station so that I could then drive to Malvern for the Mothers Direct sale (where I intend to buy said Ergo carrier). Be home by early arvo and sit out on the lawn under the walnut tree, leaving Oscar all nekked on the grass...pity I won't be allowed to go into a pool, what's the point if I can't swim underwater? I LOVE being underwater!
Simone - DHS deals a lot with paper, unfortunately, and it sounds like they have to go through the motions...taking you with them! It's a bit crap, but you've ridden it through thus far and you're a stayer :)
