hi gals,
hope you are all well and ready for Xmas! I'm on holidays at my folks place in Yamba (or near there) and it has been wonderful. Mum & Dad take Ally at 6am so we can sleep in, (I told DH they just want another grandchild - LOL)... I'm OK, had my face lasered for some suspicious cancer cells and my face has now got infected, so I have a HUGE seeping red scaby thing on my face about 5cm in diameter and have to get antibiotics.. I'm a tad upset as Ally's blessing is this sunday as I'm going to look terrible... I am a tad annoyed as I paid $350 to have it done by a plastic surgen so I would not scar and now I look like this... Oh well...
Simone - oh that is so cool that your cat is having babies... I wonder how many she will have?
IK - have you tried laser hair removal? I had it done and it is great... I did it twice and I have only about 1/5 the hair on my bikin line now and it only costs $150 per session...
-
Hey CC - Wow, that sounds sore... But im sure it will clear up a little by sunday. Sending lots of recovery vibes your way... not sure how many babies my cats having... She's been very quiet today, just laying under the boys bed.
Where is everyone??
-
Morning girls - poor Flubby had a temperature last night - up to 39.9 at one point. He was ratty all day yesterday but at about 8.30pm he was real hot but NOT sweaty so we did the cool bath face washer on body thing. We gave him booby, water and panadol and then set the alarm to wake him up every 2 hours for a cool down session. Strange thing is he was not exhibiting any other symptoms - no runny nose or sore ears, and thankfully no rash or stiff neck! This morning he and I slept in til about 9.30 and he was ok for a while but then quickly deteriorated into a screaming mess. Luckily the temp hasn't come back but he is not himself at all. He is missing out on his 6m immunisations because of this but I wonder if he got wind of it and is putting it on:lol:
Love my DH - not only was he great last night with Flynn (bathing, cuddling and face-washering) but now he is photoshopping some photos of the 3 of us that we will use as chirssy presents for the grandparents. He has got rid of my double chin!! If he can do stuff like that as a hack, imagine what the professionals to to shots of models.
-
Rory, your a liar.... You dont have a double chin you duff!!! You're gorgeous, DH doesnt need to photoshop you... (only that black eye!!)
Hope Flynnie Settles down today, i think Anneliese has a tooth coming too, just unsettled and her nappies are ponging!!
-
Must add - DH is only photoshooping the pics at MY request!! He is actually unconfortable about doing it cause he is worried I will think he thinks there is something wrong with how I look.
Like you said Bath - he's a keeper!
(PS: Simone, you're right - nothing wrong with how I look except for the BLACK EYE!! D'oh!!)
-
It will be gone soon... You could've at least been drunk when you did it!! I've taken to telling people i was on a night out and fell over, i feel like an idiot telling them i tripped over a toy!!!
(I shouldnt preach about photoshop, DH is a whiz on it and i always get him to "modelfy" my pics (make me look like a model!!) He does it, only as i ask him too, but keeps the original.
Wonder where Bath and IK are today??
-
Hi guys... just back from the bank family Chrissy Party in at 100 Queen St. They had Santa and photos, craft activites, party food and gifts... all very fun. Afterwards we went to MC (how can we NOT go there to see Wade's beloved clock) and Borders, handroll then home... the usual friday routine. Going to get stuck into domestic duties this afternoon.
Hiya CeeCee! Ouchy face! Hope it heals quickly. I've been wondering about laser hair removal... my pain thresh-hold is falling as I get older and can hardly use my epilady now without turning inside out with pain... it actually never use to bother me too much... wonder why this is? Anyone else had it done? I know it's only a reduction... but that would be ok.
Gotta feed Niall now... back later.... Hiya Simone and Rory! :)
-
Hey bath - re: body hair, most of mine stays where it is these days, except on special occasions. I feel like a french hippy some days... but i just cant be bothered. And when i can its just a quickie XXX, legs and underarms (although my underarms is something i do pretty regularly anyway. the hairs on My legs are blonde and thin and i barely notice them anyway... maybe way// I used one of those epilady things when i was about 15 and it hurt for me then!! never tried again...
-
Sim: LOL at French hippy chick!!! hahaha... but true, body hair removal isn't something I stress over too much either as DH prefers me to look like a woman not a child... but as my hair is almost black it's not as easy to miss as yours... so I keep the legs and underarms done. Would like my bikini line neatened via laser so that I can wear bikinis although I actually quite like the old fashioned styles (eg 1950's) that make life easier in that regard!
uh oh... Niall has been over stimulated... needs hugs... back later!
ETA: I don't mean to offend Junies who like to get all their hair removed I was just saying what my DH prefers... all guys are different... however sometimes I do get annoyed with some men who expect women to endure the pain of regular hair removal when they themselves couldn't endure it. I know my DH squawks when i pluck out an uruley eyebrow of his (sometimes they grow in the wrong direction and need to come out)... so it's just as well that he doesn't expect me to have my whole body plucked for his pleasure.... sorry, but i think I've endured enough physical discomfort and pain in the name of beauty and childbearing... off my soapbox now LOL
Ali: I've felt a bit bad that I wasn't able to "come up with the goods" regarding a Chrissy Pudding recipe... but I confirmed that there is an excellent looking recipe for last minute puddings on Delia Smith's website.... the Light Pudding recipe looks great. Just google Delia Smith and it'll take you straight there.
-
Bath - LOL at the "get all their hair removed". I would need a permanent booking to get rid of all of it - some days I feel like Hairy McLairy from Donaldson's Dairy!!!
I am a bikini, lip, eyebrow and leg girl myself (as in bikini is BAD if I don't get it done, I grew a 'mo' for Movember!, I naturally have one eyebrow and my legs are pretty hairy). DH says he doesn't mind but I certainly do! Though when I was pg I couldn't even see my bikini line so didn't bother then - LOL!
-
Good to hear Rory... and Sim, you both make me feel a bit more "normal"... some days it seems like every woman on earth except me is spending half their time at hair removal salons (i've never been to one) and I'm wondering if I really am just out-of-touch and ought to strive to be more groomed or something but honestly i've got more things to spend my money on! I really don't mean to offend anyone because we all have our own idea of what's comfortable in terms of our appearance ( I do my face too when needed) but when it's just for our men... geeze that's another story.... I take my man how he is... i expect the same in return.... although, come to think of it he feels compelled to shave his face... so we don't expect each other to be totally au naturel. Oh and LOL at Hairy McLairy!!!
-
LOL at the Movember rory!!
Bath - even though i do have 2 childfree days per week, i prefer to spend them doing something better than getting bits of hair ripped out of my body!! The last time i had my hair done was in Perth in sept, and only as my sister's a hairdresser!! Cant remember the time before that... prolly before i fell pg with Anneliese!!
-
Bath it was me after the Chrissy Pudding recipe and there is really no need to stress about it- i have decided to by pass chrissy pudding and make sticky date puddings instead ( i have a treid and tested recipe that is just glorious). I have been on Delia's website and found a great sausage roll recipe that I am going to give a go because my dad loves home made sausage roll ad Mum doesnt have time to make them. I am also making Pavlova, and Shortbread/ fruit mince slice which I tested on DH the other day and is really great. So really no need to worry, I will get myslef organised a bit earlier next year and make my pudding at the beginning of Dec.
-
And then you'll be able to pass this recipe along bath, as it will be tried and tested!! I'm tryingto find one with lots of nuts as well as fruit, my sisters bf's mum makes this amazing one but wont give out the recipe...
-
Ali... Whoops sorry! I was also going to post a message to Amanda hoping that Cody was ok! I've also received a BB newsletter saying there is a really good Chrissy recipe thread... going to check it out now!
-
I got that too bath :) i think im meant to be making a salad and a dessert this year...
-
HAPPY 6mths MARLEY, OSCAR & NATHAN :)
Hi girls, late again today! Hit the shops this morning and it wasn't too bad. Bought the girls some new stuff from Pumpkin Patch as I am going into work tomorrow for a xmas lunch and wanted Marley to have something new! Got Chelsea some stuff too as I didn't want her to feel left out. Its getting hard now, as I don't want to dress the girls the same but I love the same things! Have to make an effort to choose different things.
Had Marleys needles today and she screamed her lungs out - poor baby! She calmed down after a good cuddle. Then over the MCHN and Marley is 6.81kg, 65cm, head 42.8, she only gained 765g in the past 2 months but MCHN says not to worry as her graph is still reading well. She also is sleeping very well both during the day and at night. She was more concerned with her ezcema. She wants me to see a skin paed in the new year. Poor thing was very red and blotchy today and she has been scratching alot too. She has suggested washing her in DermaVeen bath wash every 2nd day and using the DermaVeen moisturiser 4-5 times a day and see how that goes over the xmas period. If no improvement, then off to the specialist. I told her she wasn't too keen on solids, which she said not to worry about too much, just slowly introduce. She should only be having rice cereal and pear as these are both low risk allergy foods. They worry as ezcema can lead to other allergies. She thinks Marley will grow out of it as it is not extreme and seems to be confined to certain areas, not her whole body. So will see how it all goes. Hopefully the creams will help and we can avoid cortisone.
PML about the hair removal stories!!!! I am a shaver - legs and underarms. Can't stand underarm hair. I ocassionaly get eyebrows waxed a couple of times a year. I never wear bikinis or bathers (I am a boardies kind of girl!!) so leave bikini line alone, that thought makes my eyes water!
CC - you poor thing! Hope your face clears up for Sunday and its not too sore for you. Glad to hear you and DH are getting a sleep in. Enjoy it while you can.
Rory - I might have to get your DH to fix my photos too! Can he remove hips and rolls of skin LOL!!! Sorry to hear Flynn was unwell, hope he is on the improve today. Is the eye still black?
Bath - sounds like a fun xmas party - banks know how to throw a good party. Was MC packed?
Simone - did you put the kittens on BB yet?
Better do some washing, done none today! Back later!
-
Hey Bath I'm here just been lurking as Cody has still got some sloppy nappy's and every now and then is crying in pain, my poor little man, I don't even know where he got this from as no-one else has a tummy bug.
For christmas I'm making trifle, rum balls and some white macadamia bells and DH is doing a pavalova cause we're on dessert duty this year.
About hair removal, I usually only do my legs once a month lately which is slack of me but hey, but I do shave under my arms once a week or more depending on growth.
Just a quick question, Cody hasn't been feeding as much since he's been sick but he's not dehydrated so do you think this is alright?
ETA Happy 6 mths Oscar, Marley and Nathan.
hugs xoxo
-
Amanda as long as he is still having wet nappies it shouldn't be a prob... hope cody gets better soon...
Oh and you're right!! 3 half year bdays today!! Nathan, Marley and Oscar!!
-
Amanda: My kids all go off their food when they are feeling ill and/or hot... I think with babies it's ok if it's just for a few days and they don't get dehydrated (how is he with cooled boiled water?)... although having said that I'd call your MCHN if in doubt. I suspect if they cut down their food intake for too long their little tummies might shrink and it might take a while to get them back to consuming enough food again but that's just my own theory. Sometimes I wonder whether Niall has cut back too much too recently with the hot weather and his weight gain has suffered... i haven't had him weighed in a while... better book one in for early next year.... he's sleeping well though and that's usually a good sign.
Geeze, I'm trying to book a tradesman to fix a window Verity broke and do you think I can find anyone? there's no hurry... I don't need it done before Christmas or anything... I've spoken to about 5 people on the phone this afternoon and they all just sound so flustered and busy... almost makes me feel like i need to apologise for calling! I just want it lined up for January. Verity will have to suffer the embarrassment of her broken window when GrandDad stays... DH wanted it fixed beforehand but now that I think about it Verity might think twice about throwing wobblies if she knows the evidence won't be tidied away for her.
My In-Liven was also meant to be delivered today but the bloody contractor didn't leave it at the local Post Office as instructed... now I have to hang around all Thursday for it to be redelivered... still I didn't sound flustered... it's just the time of year i guess... might as well just relax and pour myself another martini... or at least put the kettle on... back in a tic...
-
Bath - i was just saying to Rory last week we need to have c0cktail party (had to change that, otherwise it'd just be ****!!! overzealous censors...) The other night i was speaking to Mel at midnight, after finishing half a bottle of wine, and some strawberry Licquer, one i bought from a local berry farm in WA... mmm... i love to sit back and have a drink occasionally, just relaxing :D One day i'll get to try your martini's!!
So whats everyone doing for NYE this year?? DH and i want to do something, but family orientated (and not going into the city where it will be madness as usual!!!)
-
Sorry mel, i missed your post!! I havent put the kittens up, i dont feel there is a big rush, as Matisse is still at least 1 month off giving birth, and then the kitten have about 8 weeks with her before they can go anywhere... I'd rather post when i can say "Im giving away kittens free to good homes for BB members on such and such date" if that makes sense??
-
Got my lamb to the doctors (Dr Howson in Keilor Road, Simone - he is great) and the poor love has herpangina (neither herpes, nor angina!). Basically, blisters in back of throat, maybe on his hands and feet, high temps, cranky, etc. Good news it is not serious, we just have to watch for dehydration. Bad news is it is contagious (great - just taught Flynn to put his dummy in MY mouth!!) and can take 5-10 days to get better. Was told I can expect him to be VERY ratty.
Simone, is Annelise showing any signs?
-
Nope, but i will keep my eyes out. I dont think they had a lot of contact, they were close when they were having on-the-ground time, thats about it. Dont stress :) Some say Dr Howsen is an old fuddy duddy, but he's been around forever, so he must know lots!! (He's the one who started the GP's clinic at the Childrens for those who have been there)
-
For an old fuddy duddy he was lovely! I have found Flynn's doctor, for sure!
-
Just caught up on today's posts!
I was out all day till just before, but then MIL came round for Oscar's 6 month day, so now I'm online.
Happy 6 months Nathan and Marley!
I got my eBay nappies, visited my friend, went to Kathmandu to get some final shop-bought things for DP's outdoor adventure, booked the car in for tyres tomorrow and then organised photo enlargements for some Christmas presents (ready tomorrow, that's Christmas pressies all sorted!).
DP got home last night and today his gear is on the rug, washing still out on the line and dinner unthought of. Typical! He's on the computer, though, so at least the computer feels loved...
CC - I've lasered my bikini line (well, one more session will finish off the basic bikini line, but I had the essential ones done, you know, the 'you need to come back by 6 weeks for the next one or there'll be no point') and that's great because if my thigh hairs are behaving, then I can just strip down to a bikini with no worries about getting myself waxed. However, every once in a while (maybe 3 times a year) I'll get a XXX done. Also, I did the laser when I was working full time, because I knew that by the end of that year I wouldn't be working full time anymore and unable to afford the treatment (remember, have horse, he eats my money!), so I only got the bikini done. Maybe one of these tax returns I'll get the underarms done. Meanwhile, I wax my legs and underarms myself...until this Thursday when I will be using the Aldi epilator with underarm attachment! My underarms are pretty hairy and my thigh hairs have, in the last few years, become a bit unruly, so I am more conscious of my thigh hairs than any other hairs - shorts in summer become a carefully planned thing if I'm due for a wax. Underarm hair I can deal with, even when it's really noticeable. Especially now - I figure I'm a mummy and anyone who doesnt' like my hairs can bite me.
I jumped on the boys' photo sites, Simone - they're great pics! And now I have a face to a name I'd like to give a piece of my mind to, grrr...! Sorry, didn't get round to calling again, cos I wasn't home and now it's dinner time and then SOMEONE has to try to tidy this house before we leave for NZ...
I know I've missed some points I wanted to make, but I'm getting antsy about the things that need doing around here, so I'll put the boy to sleep for a while and tend to these things...
-
Bath - have you tried the Grey Army or Jims Maintenance? I have used both on ocassions and they have been fantastic, they are on time and give you a quote and no job is too small. Grey Army are all retired tradesman, so they are always very polite. Good luck with it.
Rory - at least you now know whats wrong with him. Its awful when you don't know whats causing their discomfort. Big hugs to him and hope he feels better in time for Santas arrival.
Simone - a c0cktail party sounds like a great idea, what about in the NY? We are going to a friends for dinner and drinks. They are inviting a few people and they all have kids. Its not too far from home which is good. Still haven't decided who's driving yet! My brother usually goes into town and loves it. He goes to the family area at Birrarung Marr and usually leaves before midnight. They have earlier activities for families, then they get the train home. We were going to join them but when we got invited to our friends, we decided it would be better to stay closer to home. Good idea to wait with the kittens. Wonder how many she will have? Checked out the kids photos - they are way too cute! They look more like you though. You must be a very proud mummy!
IK - you must be so busy getting everything ready for NZ and you must be excited. Only 4 more sleeps!! You make me jealous, having all your chrissy shopping done - I still have a few more bits to buy and pick up the laybys. I can see me doing the dash on Sat or Sun!
Just wrapping up my KK present to take to work tomorrow. I got someone who I don't even know! She started after I left, so hopefully she likes chocolates. Also bought present for carers at Chelsea's creche. This year instead of chocolates, I bought a beautiful picture book which they can use for story time. A more practical present.
Check in later.
-
Ok, I'm home, finally it only took two attempts!
Bath- The only reason I got upset was because she had absolutely no right to send me that letter in the fashion she did anyway. I had already made a formal point that if that house had become free then we would not even attempt to move in there because it would be illegal. When I told the department this in the first place they told me that I was doing the right thing by telling them.I thank you for your comments!
Now the point about the Police..And I'm asking everyone here! How would you like it if when you are just sitting in your backyard just relaxing, the police rock up, pull a piece of your back fence out and just walk into your backyard?
About rent receipts, we aren't paying my aunts rent. Thats why they can't provide rent receipts. I know you are trying to help and thats why I'm trying to explain.
Now for my HAPPY NEWS!
Today at about 10 to 11 my cousin had a beautiful baby boy by the name of JACOB ANTHONY. He weighed 6lb 15 oz and they are now relaxing as a family
at home.
ETA: I forgot to mention we received a letter today from the Department. We have been approved for Early Housing as of last Friday the day after that letter arrived courtesy of the Police.
-
Jess - congrats to your cousin! It must be a relief for you all. Great news about the housing. It's sickening, too, that police in small towns think they can get away with anything because it's sort of a closed shop. Other local police will obviously take their side and no-one's going to action any sort of complaint, it seems. Really, like Bath said, you're pushing ***** uphill to try to fight back the way that they fight, so the best way for your family is to cop it sweet (no pun intended!). They can only make your life difficult and you will have no impact on them except to give them something to do when they are bored! But, really, it's good news on the housing front :)
I just scored some more eBay nappies - they are in Lakes Entrance and my mum can pick them up, so save on postage! Might just get a pack of coloureds and then we'll be set for NZ and then just leave them for my sister.
The smoke has come in again - can the rest of you Melb girls smell it again yet? It just came in tonight.
Oscar is being too cute, WAYYYYYY too cute - how am I going to survive the years until he's a horrible teenager? And what if he never becomes a horrible one, just a great one like my cousins in Ireland? I am going to suffer a death by gushing! My death notice will read "Gushed to Death"...I'm a goner!
Mel - I'm just finalising some paperwork to send to uni - according to the new rules I have automatically been scheduled for exclusion! But I spoke to someone who said to send in my intermission letter and Oscar's birth cert and they'd waive it. Sound okay to you? I have to send it off this week, as it has to be in by Jan 4 or something...I won't be here.
ok,off again!
-
Jess - great news about housing! Well done, you'll be in your new place in no time (hopefully!). Congrats to your cousin too, what a lovely xmas present.
IK - did they say why they excluded you (did they discontinue you?)? Usually after intermission, if you do not re-enrol, we normally notify you by email or phone to confirm if you intend to come back as many don't. The cut-off date for re-enrolment is usually early Dec and they should have sent you a letter saying so and giving you the opportunity to get it all done. Letters are sent in October. Maybe they forgot about you. The late fee last year was $97 so it would be good if they waive it. I am going into work tomorrow, so I will check it for you and see what the system says your status is. If you talk to Susan, she should get it done for you. The uni closes tomorrow at 5pm until early Jan, so nothing will get done with it until then but make sure you send it so she has it when she returns - maybe email her aswell to tell her its coming. Can't smell smoke yet, but it has gotten a bit chilly outside. Lets hope none of our babies turn into "horrible" teenagers. I know what you mean by gushing - both my girls make me gush on a daily basis. Tonight Chelsea just came over and gave me a cuddle (a squeeze as she calls it!) and when I asked her why she was giving me squeezes, she said "cause I love you!". She is beautiful! Marley seems OK after needles, just very tired.
Have to cook a slice for tomorrows lunch, but will do it in the morning! Nearly bedtime.
-
Thanks Mel! I just emailed Susan, so I'll check all morning for her reply. They said it was an automatic thing for having discontinued after the HECS cut off date, but that it would be waived when they have a copy of my intermission letter and Oscar's cert. I have already re-enrolled for Sem 1, so I hope this is all academic (so to speak!) cos I don't want to have to sort things out from NZ! Anyway, I trust that it will sort itself out - Gill at exclusions told me that it should all be ok, when I spoke to her a couple of weeks ago and that it was a result of a rule change earlier in the year.
Ok, I've used up my credits with DP - told him I needed to send an important email (he tried to scoff but then I explained, then I was told off for leaving it so late, but I told him I hadn't, I just needed to check to make sure I was right!) and he's struggling with the boy...who he is supposed to be showering with now, but he's been on the computer...
Catch you all tomorrow!!
-
Mornring everyone
Jes - Thats great you got approved for housing!! When will they let you move in?? I know "emergency" housing in melbourne still has at least a 10 month wait, maybe that why they couldnt give you the house?? And i think once you get booted from one place, that they arent allowed to put you back in there... Who knows?? At least you'll be outta there (hopefully) and into you new place by jan/feb/march, when it gets alot hotter...
Bath - i've been scouting around for xmas cake recipes, my SIL reckons not to bother, noone in the family makes one since my GMIL died. She had the best one (similar to your i think) but it had been tweaked over 50 years until perfect... but she took it to the grave with her!! My SIL makes a icecream christmas pudding though. I've been told i need to bring crackers (like the one with stupid jokes in) plain and brandy custard (from the supermarket) and thats it :( I was looking forward to baking too
IK - dont you hate it when they hop online whe you've asked them to do something, and you get home and they've done absolutely nothing? Grrr... Do you want me to send you a piccy of Dh so you know who im b*tching about?? Actually, Xander should have one, There's a pic from our wedding day with the 3 of us (and declan in my belly... i was nearly 5 months pregnant in that pic!!
Mel - That sounds like a great NYE! Definately have to do a c0cktail party in the NY, maybe for our chrissy party?? Just work out which drinks we would like to make figure out which alcohol we would need and spread it out between everyone!! I'm dying to try one of baths martini's :D FOr us, we will prolly end up staying home... every year we say we'll do something, but it never works out that way!! I'd love to go out, but DH says its too dangerous for me. So we'll prolly sit at home and be in bed by 11pm, like last year!!!
Oh, and i found that huntsman spider... This will scare the sh*t outta you (like it did to me!!) I went in to check on Anneliese just before i wentr to bed to read a book, and she was all curled up and looked gorgeous, so i called out to DH to come have a alook. And as a turned around to look if he was coming, there the spoider was on the side wall 2m away from bubs cot, and right next to the door where i just walked in!! I screamed, and gave Dh my shoe when he came in. I was wearing thongs. He laughed and threw it back to me and went and got his steel capped work boots... It took him 3 direct hits to kill this thing. It was the span of my hand. YUKKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dream of spiders in my bed all night... didnt sleep very well. That one was outside, and i didnt open that door for fear it would come in. So they can just waltz in whenever they feel!! But DH say as they are such a "predator" (they eat alot) there's generally only one of them around at a time.. Is he making up bullsh*t to make me feel better (telling me there's only one around so i wont freak out) or is it true?? I cried my eyes out when i saw it, i hate spiders...
-
IK - something for you... Here :D just up you alley!!
-
Good morning girls :) Yes, the smoke's back... getting quite thick too...and I've got washing to do. IK: LOL don't fret about too much gushing, in a few years Oscar will moderate it as he drives you up the walls to the point of exasperation... they all do... the mix of feelings you can have for your children is the most complex I've ever experienced... nobody else has made me feel so devoted/frustrated/helpless and needed at the same time. Never fear, you WILL want to scream at him at some point... very hard to explain... you learn so much about yourself with having children. Maybe this is the real reason I want my childless friends to have at least one child: I often say it's becuase I want them to feel the love that they bring... but maybe it's because I want them to learn a bit more about themselves than they are learning without them.... does this make sense? Having children has really taught me that often solutions aren't as black and white as my childless friends would have me believe. Still, life with just one baby is pretty sweet... enjoy it while you can! I get a tad envious! LOL Somedays it's so hard just to find a bit of space to cuddle Niall without Wade trying to squeeze in between and Verity "yackity yackity yackity" at me at the same time. ATM they are being really noisey and thumping through the house despite my repeated attempts at asking them to calm down... it's so exhausting... and poor Niall is just sitting beside me in the high chair wanting a feed which i will have to do where Wade chooses to play or else he will wander off and do something naughty and Verity is annoyed with him now so won't help and when i try to feed Niall Wade will throw books on me or tug at me... groan groan.... I know Sim and Jess understand...
better go... Wade has just almost broken Verity's nose because he threw the remote at her unexpectantly... now she want's to throttle him... fun fun fun
Sorry i couldn't do personals... can't hear myself think.
ETA: bit of a "WooHoo!" Christmas Day is going to be a cool 22'C :) Yay for a hot traditional dinner! And rain is also expected so we can all be inside pretending it's snow LOL
ETA again: I like that link too Simone :) Very interesting... looking forward to reading it when the kids let me! Niall has gone up a size in Aldi nappies and I like the design much better too.
-
Completely bath, completely... Atm, Anneliese is really unsettled, do i have her wrapped in my arms, declan wants to "rock pn" (i put musc on and he dances... frank sinatra today, not kiss like last night!!) And xander wants me to change his movie to spongebob... the only way can keep them quiet to quiet bubs... the cats meowing as she wants milk (snobby cat!!) and im sitting here with greasy hair in my dressing gown dying for a shower and typing one handed... the joys of multiple young children...
-
Ok, I hear ya girls, I'm going to savour every moment with just Oscar!
I have a roadworthy car again - yay! New tyres, so we're safe on the road. Done, can tick that off my list.
My mum collected the ebay nappies...she was grumpy cos she got lost (she is not a person who should drive around without a map...but she did) and I had to email the lady to apologise! Lucky for me, because of my excellent communication last night after winning the bid, she had already left my feedback!! She was really close to where my mum is in the country, so allowed me the pick up instead of delivery.
Simone - just read that thread, I'm going to have to post in it. You're right, it's definitely up my alley!
gotta go again, Oscar is being high maintenance today (I can give him that, he's normally very good, but he woke up to just daddy today, as I'd gone to get the tyres!)...

Dont you just love high maintainence kids?? I have 3 of them today... Just found Xander in, he destroyed on of my green/brown eyeshadows, so im feeding them lunch, then they are going to for a nap!! Anneliese just had a bottle and has settled for a nap, although if the kids get noisy she'll wake... but im not game enough to move her into her bedroom! Anyone up for doing something this friday?? Even if we just go to a park or something?? maybe not MC, it'll be madness in there... I'd be happy with metting somewhere for lunch!! Not fussed, will need to get out of the house by friday...
On the upside, the enliven has make my smoking habit almost disappear!! I was starting to smoke more and more again, and yesterday i only had one, and that was out of habit, i didnt really enjoy it at all, and chuck it after 1/2. And havent felt the need for one at all today!! And i'm feeling a little more energetic... Im on day 4. YAY!!! Now i can definitely afford enliven every month, its cheaper than smoking!!
Oh, and i did update Anneliese's site (i think i posted that i only updated the boys) there's only one new photo of her, and thats at the Austprem BBQ i went to with Nic a couple of weeks ago in Sunbury. I had one of me and nic, but DH had to photoshop it, there's too much glare... hopefully its fixable!!

Wow Simone! That's a HUGE woohoo about the In-Liven!!!!! (((big hugs))) Imagine if you could give up smoking! That's massive! I also found it helped with my sugar cravings... i don't "need" about 3 sweet biscuits every afternoon at about 3pm... now I prefer to have a handful of nuts and dried fruit instead.
Geeze I wanna encourage you more but Wade's yelling at me to go look at his poo that he's done in the potty!
-
Im still having sugar cravings... i ate a whole block of turkish delight yesterday. LOL i know what you mean, i get "Mum help me go to the toilet" even though the door's open, the lights on, his seat is the there waiting to go, and all he has to do is pull his pants down and do his business... And he doesnt like me watching!! So im just following him to the toilet, to have him close the door on me grrr... not long til their nap... i dont care if they just play in their room!!! 2 hours, minimum. More peace for me...

Bath, I will take over - Simone that is fantastic news about the smoking!!! Keep up the good work! I think I might try the in-liven too - sounds pretty spesh:D
IK, enjoy Oscar while he is being cute - DH and I have realised that our Lamb is now officially a Bag of Rats. Granted, he may have been sick, but I am now CONVINCED that the worst of it has passed and he is now milking the "rock me cause I feel bad" ***** for all its worth. Last night DH and I got our first real taste of what it is like to have a baby in the house - he woke heaps and between 4 and 5.30 am sooked and whined and DH and I each lost it at various points. Those with "real" babies are probably chuckling at the 1.5 hours of sooking, but it is big deal for us!
Jess that is fantastic news - when do you move in? Here's hoping 2007 is kinder to you.
Bath, have you tried Bach Rescue remedy on the kids? A friend of mine swears by it - it is apparently a natural sedative. She uses it when her kids can't sleep or are ratty (and she is a full on hippy Steiner school organic vegie person, so I imagine it isn't harmful in anyway). Can't wait till Flynn is old enough for it - speaking of which I must red the label and see the age limits....
Mel, poor little Marley!! I can just imagine her sweet little face in pain as she scratches her eczema. Simone, Xander was pretty rough with it too, yeah? I imagine Bath has told you both about Moogoo? It is a cream that really seems to work well on rashes and eczema.
Amanda, I hope poor little Cody is feeling better! Gosh this probably sounds really shallow but I never appreciated how bad it is when kids are sick until Flynn got this herpangina thing. And I have a new appreciation for my mother, who nursed me through the usual childhood illnesses.
Better go and make hay while the sun shines, or more correctly, clean the house while the Bag of Rats sleeps:lol:
