Sorry, forgot to say, Jess, that I hope Patrick gets home real quick :(
Just a quick note before I head off to bed - I just had a nice feed!! I gave Oscar about 55ml of expressed milk then put him on the least sore breast...and it was nice! He seems to be sleeping now, so I'm going to get into pj's, get teeth brushed and get us both into bed where I'll express from the sorest side and try this caper again later tonight...fingers crossed! This will make the wait till Monday/Tuesday so much more bearable! I was afraid I'd be too scared to go back to the boob, but all is well :)
Good night!

Tanya - the whole waking thing is a bit controversial between midwives. I would think by now if he is feeding well at feeds and wakes on some regular basis eg 4 hrs you should just be letting him sleep. Is he back near or over birth weight yet??? I think in the early days many are pretty persistent on the regular feeds to ensure your supply gets the kick start it needs and baby's weight gets reboosted after the initial losses of the first couple of days and cause babys can be very sleepy in those early days.
With my first I remember waking him on the 4hrs (not 3) until one midwife said no leave him (at six days old) he will wake when he's hungry (and mine wasn't the keenest of feeders) and he did and continued to wake 3-4 hourly during the day and had a long sleep at night. This also allowed my supply to settle into a pattern which matched his. I also found that after the first week or so I could express occassionally and use a bottle occassionally without upsetting my supply or his attachment.
It's different for everyone I know but just thought I'd tell you my experiences.
In short unless he's always sleeping a long time between feeds (and by long I mean six hours) or is just a baby who's always sleepy and not interested in feeding (which from what you've mentioned about night times he's not) - I'd be going by the rule don't wake a sleeping baby.
IK - bring on Tuesday - good to see you've found a system that will get you through to then with minimal pain to you and Oscar.
Anyway had better get on with the rest of the day - DH has ideas about going to the local country races today if the weather breaks so need to get a few things done by then. Samuel should also be due for a feed about now have to go check if he's still asleep. Unlike DS#1 this one has is own personal internal alarm that usually goes off every three hours on the dot.
Enjoy your sunday ladies.
Jess - hope Patrick is doing a bit better today and his oxygen levels are staying up- DS#1 had bronchiolitis as a baby but no where near as young as Patrick -you are in my thoughts.

Its a very windy cool day here in Karratha, well cool for Karratha weather anyway. So it is nice to have Alex all rugged up and cosy. I just want to snuggle up to him all the time!
Jess, you and Patrick and family are in our thoughts, hope he gets better real soon. At least as nickers said you know he is in the best hands in hospital.
Neeny loved the photo of your gorgeous girl!
Tulip I tend to agree with Jaspen in that as a rule of thumb never wake a sleeping baby. Each to their own but I have never woken DD or Alex for a feed, I tend to find they will wake when they are hungry. In fact just the other night Alex slept from 7pm till 2.30 am and I didn;t wake him, my boobs were as sore as can be tho!!!!
Had an up and down night with Alex last night, he just wouldn't settle and had what sounded like quite laboured breathing. This went on to this morning and around an hour ago I remembered that I had some Fess Little Noses saline drops in the house. Put them in his nose (which the poor thing didn't like at all!!) and the next thing you know- warning TMI ahead, the biggest chunk of snot came out his nostril. No wonder he couldn't breathe, it was huge. He went straight to sleep afterwards so am thoroughly recommending the use of Fess!!!!!!

Good morning... only just; had another sleep in...and DH is asleep still with Niall in Verity's bed...musical beds in this house LOL Verity was doing a good job of looking after Wade all morning until they decided to play Pop Goes The Weasel (running around the dining table) but by then I was ready to get up because the central heating had been turned way up above 20'C...oh well small price to pay for a bit of extra rest. Had a busy day yesterday: Went out to lunch with The Girls (neighbours and the woman who used to live in this house before us: she shares my birthday and has 3 children too: a few of several bizzare coincidences!) DH looked after all the kids... Verity was thrilled to be able to give Niall a bottle of EBM which apparently he drunk quickly. I had a great lunch and caught up on all the local goss... Bailey's cheesecake for dessert! LOL Then we spent the afternoon over at the Western suburbs visiting friends and a lonely old uncle of DH's... then it was dark and we bought pizza on the way home and hired some DVDs (Narnia) making it an enjoyable night in.
Jess: Thinking of you and little Patrick... hope he's doing ok... your DH is still at home with you? Guess it's lots of extra driving back and forth to the hospital again?
Nic: Yep, Aldi newborn size nappies (in the yellow packaging) are fantastic... very absorbant, slightly larger than Huggies and don't grip the legs as harshly leaving nasty red creases on the skin. Plus they are much cheaper... IK is right, you'll never go back to Huggies after trying Aldi. Wade is in Aldi Pull-Ups. We're going there today actually to restock.
Dee: Oooh LOL at your broken tooth tale of warning! That will stick in your girl's minds for many years to come, hopefully frightening them off those nasty Froot Loops. Are you taking extra calcium? I'm taking Blackmore's Calcium tablets... not sure if it'll help... I've heard that BFing is a huge drain on our calcium stores but that it's also good in preventing osteoporosis because our skeleton is strengthened by the depletion and rebuilding of bone cells, just as long as you provide the extra calcium. Do you know anything about this? being a nurse I thought you might.
Neeny: that's a very sweet little piccy of Aleise :)
IK: Good to hear you had a nice feed... I can't imagine you being too frightened to "jump back onto the breast-feeding horse" IYKWIM after this minor set back... I reckon after Tuesday you'll both be cruising :)
Tulip: Are you having little cat naps when Lucas is sleeping during the day? No? naughty naughty :) I know it's so hard when you want to use the time to get things done.... and I know how super organised you are... I just hope you're not putting housework before rest darl... please remeber Lucas will become more wakeful and you could get too much in debt sleepwise and then life will get really hard. At the very least choose a sedentary activity when he's sleeping... like BB cruising or scrapbooking! Don't even look at the vacuume cleaner!
Ok... gotta deal with unsettled children... back later...
-
Thinking of you Jess and Patrick, hope you have him home soon.
My 6 yr old has conjunctivitis, so I have to diligent about handwashing so Nathan doesn't get it. I was so looking forward for kids to go back to school, now I've been told to keep him home a few days. Oh well.
Must try the aldi nappies, discovered baby love don't keep runny poos in.
Tanya - if your milk is in, I would try leaving him to sleep longer, good luck.
IK - hope you can get it all sorted on Mon rather than Tues, all the best.
No time to finish personals, gotta feed, big hello to everyone else.
-
Bath Did it during my pregnancy with DD4. Lol. Drank more milk this time round and took my blackmores horse tablets. And yeah you're right, that's what they say about pregnancy and Osteoporosis.
Tulip it's up to you hun, but I'm with the others Let sleeping babies sleep. Jaspen's right about the waking thing, He'll wake when he's hungry, so I would get some sleep when he goes down while you still have that luxury, you lose it somewhat with the second and third....fifth, lol. You need to look after yourself or you'll be no good to anyone. If visitors are a problem take the phone off the hook and post a note on the door, "Please don't knock Bub and I are sleeping". Or if it's someone close get them to pick up the vaccumm, or put a load on while you have a nap. Rest is important.
Oh and Tulip I did some shots of my girls last year during a photography fit( no where near professional, lol) i was in, I'll dig some out and post them on my home page , I did Melissa up as an Angel.
Ok They are on there now, lol, Pixie Photos are here next week, yay, I'm so glad to get some professoinal photos done for our wall of shame, lol
Karen to bad about the conjunctivitis, heres to a speedy non spreading recovery.
A big :hello: to everyone.

Went over to hospital today to see Patrick.I lasted 20 mins, before I burst into tears!
They put him on oxygen last night and the nasal prongs didn't work, so put a box over his head and pumped humidfied air into it.There is only one thing wrong with this, and that's the fact that noone can hold him and I can't BF him.
I was full on my left side last night so I expressed it of, but unfortunately my right side decided that when it was full, it was too tender to touch and now because of the virus I have, I now have Mastitis in my right side.
About 3 hours ago I started to get really cold and I just thought, that the virus was hitting me hard, but then I started hallucinating and I was delirious. Apparently I thought Patrick was next to me and then he had disappeared. I was literally screaming DH said.He finally got some nurofen into me and I feel a bit better now.
-
Dee thanks for the tip on filing the broken bit of my tooth it worked a treat, but my tonuge was a bit sore last nite and today but it's getting better now.
Jess I'm so sorry to hear that Patricks still in hospital and that you can't hold him, OMG about the mastitis, try and rest as much as possible and get well soon.
Not much going on here, so I'm going to go have some dinner.
hugs xoxo
-
Bugger, Jess :( Just when you think you're around the corner, you get another chicane! I've had some chicanes recently, so sorry about this one for you - all you can do is stick it out until you get 2 seconds of no dramas:hug:
Walked to my gf's for her boy's 2nd birthday - it was a nice afternoon.
Oscar must be having a growth spurt - he's constantly feeding...more than usual! This would be great but not whilst his attachment is a lovely, grippy, pinchy kind of experience for me!
Oh, well, tomorrow I hope to lick this problem and get him on the right attachment track :)
-
very quick one.
Jess I'm so sorry about Patrick. I hope everything sorts itself out soon!!
-
Big (hugs) to you IK and Jess. Jess vent as much as you like darl we are here to support you. Hope your mum is having fun up my way.
IK here's hoping that today is the day and you don't have to wait til tomorrow.
Lol Amanda, now you can add Dentist to your long list of occupations. It was a quick fix but it worked, lol.
Yay I have finnally secured an appointment with the visiting Speech Therapist for Allanah. I put her on the waiting list nearly a year ago. Ironic though because I just found out that a private Speechy has set up shop in Emerald, I might use her yet though, It depends what this speechy says about Allanah.

Hi All,
hi all,
just been and had Nixon weighed.
weight 4250g (up 260g in 10days)
length 56.5cm (up 1.5cm in 10days)
head 37.5cm (up 0.5cm in 10days)
So i am very pleased with his weight gain this time, i thought he had grown in length by his clothes. He is long and skinny!
also got him attached to my breast without the nipple sheild for some time! Although it was quiet tedious and took some time, the MW was finally understanding that its not too easy with flat nipples he latched on! so going to keep persisting with trying.
Jess- i hope Patrick had a better night and starts recovering soon, are you on anti biotics or anything for the mastitis?
-
Jess - hope Patricks doing a bit better today - and you too!
Nickers - great news about Nixon's growth. It's amazing how sometimes it takes professionals to be actually confronted by something for them to realise that their theories don't always work as well as they think - hope the feeding without shields moves ahead in leaps and bounds for you but if know that he's being doing really well up to now with the shields and that no doubt will continue.
Candy - how are things going with you and Ryan??
-
Go Nixon! :) He's longer than Niall ! And that's brilliant news with your attachment Nic... I'm sure your patience will pay off soon and he'll be feeding much more easily... then you'll probably see huge weight increases... if your DH is tall then I'd say Nixon will be bigger/taller than Niall this time next year (my DH is only a few centimeters taller then me ie not tall for a guy).
Wade was weighed and measured this morning... here at home... by a Growing Up in Australia representative. He is part of a nation-wide survey of children born in his year (selected to represent a broad cross section of the community). We also have to fill out questionaires relating to his development and our family routines and level of "happiness" etc. He is spot on average for weight and height apparently. Niall is very similar genetically to Wade so I think both my boys will not venture far from the 'norm'. Because I'm slightly taller than the average female my boys will probably be a little taller than my DH. And now they are both sleeping! :)
Hope you had a good night's rest Jess... my DH says it "get's absolutely freezing" up your way... hope you're keeping cosy in your caravan... let us know how Patrick is today.
-
Nickers - sounds like Nixon has caught up and weighing in with his Junie counterparts :) Were you having attachment issues with the flat nipples? I didn't realise - glad you had a good feed without the shield!
Well, I've volunteered myself for an early morning appointment...and it's not mine or Oscar's! My SIL said I was brave for wanting to be with Oscar for his appt this arvo for the tongue tie and I said I should be ok for it cos I am able to hold my dogs down for jabs (in fact, I've jabbed Odin myself when I was volunteering at a vet clinic). She joked that I could go in with her daughter instead of her tomorrow because my BIL usually does it, but can't this time. I said I could if she really couldn't be in the same room - she took me up on it! But that's ok, cos I did mean it...I just wasn't counting on it being a 9am appointment! Oh, well, if it helps her out I don't mind - and we can go for a coffee and a shop afterwards ;)
Jess - have they said how long they expect the bronchiolitis to last?
I think I'll walk to the doctors today - it's a typical hills winter day, so I'll enjoy the rug up and the warming walk!
Such a cold day for nipples...
Can't wait for this cold sore to go away so I can kiss my boy-child all over...as if it's not bad enough that I feel run down with dry skin, a cold sore really just takes the cake!
-
Jess I do hope Patrick imrpoves - I can only imagine how stressed you are!
Sorry no more personals - typing this at work (dropped in for the day to call some clients and let them know I am still alove!!)
Flynn is doing well - about 5.3 kg now and 57cm long at just on 5 weeks old - he's a real "hungry hippo". Sleeps well too, and things with DH and I are on the improve
hope to get broadband VERY SOON _ actually am on my way to see HR about work paying for it.
cia bellas!
-
Rory good to hear from you. Glad Flynn is well, he is growing very well indeed!
DH is tall 6f 2 i think so no doubt nixon will be tall too. Im only 5f 6 so def doesnt get it from me or my side of the family!
IK- ive had a few issues bf. firstly Nixon didnt know how to suck when he was born, so didnt get to try for a couple of weeks. Then because his mouth was small and still trying to get the hang of it Latching on was an issue, so i was given a nipple sheild and it seemed to help him. so since then i kept trying without it but wouldnt work cause theres not much to latch onto, unless i try him after he has already drawn the nipple out with the sheild for a while. the mchn has been annoying me to come in and try without it so finally today i did and maybe it paid off. Just fed him again and seems to be one side easier then the other, but didnt stay on the whole time. but maybe just gradually it will become easier.
-
Hi guys. Not to many personals, typing & burping the piggy. I'll just say now I am terrified of the terrible twos!!! Ryan really is just so good. And I've felt a bit terrible about it. Knowing some on here are having really trying runs & I seem to be having it easy. We have had our bad days but they are so few & far between I forget what they're like until another pops up! Admittedly I'm not trying to deal with the trials of BFing you other amazing women are going through! Ryan is sleeping most nights from about 8 til about 4. This morning it was til 5 :)
I've just added some new pictures to the little spunks site. Gosh I just love him to death!!
I hear you IK re cold sores. I got one when Ryan was 6 days old & it was so hard not kissing the most precious thing I've ever known! Have fun with your niece tomorrow! I told matt he has to take the day off for Ryan’s needles cause I don't want to be "the evil witch" :) and like you I've held my animal babies, cats dogs & horses for all manner of things, even given jabs & drawn blood from them myself. but not my bubba!!
Dee - good luck with the speech therapist.
nick - good to hear about Nixon’s progress!!! I do hope you make it here so we can catch up. I told matt last night to head to the slopes but he declined!!! I was shocked. I thought about saying "well you stay home & I'll go ski"!
Rory - I hope your work came to the party on the broadband! Sounds like Flynn is growing well too!!
Bath - sounds like you're all doing well!
Amanda - good work on fixing the sharp bit of your tooth. Dentists are so expensive :( Both Matt & I need to see one but it's not something we have spare $$ for until I get back to work :(
Tanya - I know I'm FF and you're BFing but I agree with the other girls. My midwives, when I was BFing all said "never wake a sleeping baby". It was their golden rule as they will wake & tell you that they're hungry. And you should be taking advantage of he longer sleeps to get some rest yourself!!
Jess - I really hope things are improving there today!!!
Jaspen, Emishka, Enigma, Karen, Neeny, Nickel, Gabysmum and anyone else I may have forgotten, it’s a lovely overcast day here in the ACT after a rainy weekend. I hope you’re all enjoying the same pleasant weather and I’m sorry I haven’t written to you all individually but the little man is telling me he wants to go to bed! Love you all!
-
bugger, i just tried to do the hand/foot impression cause Nixon was sleeping. but as soon as i got the paint on his foot he was awake and crying! foot print didnt work very well i think i'll try and agin DH is here to help me. who else has done it? how did u do it!
Candy- love the new pics of Ryan! he has got a little pot belly in the bath hehe!
-
Jess- Sory to hear that you and Patrick are both unwell- i hope that you are both feeling better soon and you get Patrick home with you.
Nic- Great tohear about Nixons weight gain, and I am glad that you are starting to sort out some of your BF issues.
We had a pretty hectic weekend, took Tori up to the country to see her grandad and her great grandad- she was excellent on the way there, but grizzled for the whole drive home on and off, even after we pulled over to feed her. I think partly it was because it was after 6pm when we left and usually she is starting her night time routine by then.
Last night she had an unsettled night, I think it was partly because we mucked her routine up the night before, but still it was nothing to bad, just waking more often for feeds than she normally does, but she was going straight back to sleep after.
DH and I have had a nice day today- walked to the shops, had some lunch, ran a few errands and then walked home, it is such a lovely day to be outside.
My MIL arrives from Bali on Wednesday which will be nice for her, she finally gets to see her first Granddaughter- hopefully the trip runs smoothly, as I am really not used to having people stay with us.......
Anyway I am going to go and have a nap, Tori is still asleep in her pram from our little outing!
I hope everyone is well and getting there well deserved rest!
-
Nickers - well, good on you for getting this far with it :) Yep, everyone assures me that it just 'comes good' after a while, so hang in there - I'll be hanging in there with you! I'm glad the MCHN annoyed you enough to give 'au naturel' a go!
We got Oscar's tongue snipped today and we just had our first feed since the procedure...left side is still crappy, but the feed on the right side (ravenous monster needed feeding from both sides!) was much improved. If, in a couple of days, I'm still having some 'pinchy' issues, I'll organise to see the LC again. I figure he's going to take some getting used to the movement in his tongue. The GP reckons it was a severe tongue-tie, not moderate, and was glad to nip potential speech problems in the bud. So, yep, Nickers, I'm right there with you waiting for it to just come good...
Oscar was really good for the GP - he was asleep in the waiting room, and wriggled a bit under her hand, only cos he objected to having his head held still by DP...then went back to sleep without so much as a cry, much to the GP's chagrin!
Anyway, gonna finish this pie and then fold some nappies...very therapeutic folding cloth nappies :)
-
LOL good to see I'm not the only one who finds folding cloth nappies therapeutic! Whenever I admit to enjoying it people generally seem to think it's a bit odd... I think I even mentioned it it here during our pregnancies during our discussions about our nappy plans. ATM I've actually GOT to use up some newborn disposables before Niall grows out of them! (How are you going with the 3 large boxes of newborn size you bought Tulip? We've only used the one box - heavily supplemented with clothies) And also we were given a pack of Huggies "Infant" (4 - 8 kg I think) sized nappies which I think are only slightly larger than the newborn size ones so if any of you are thinking about upgrading don't go buying too many boxes before you suss out the fit.
Ok... back to cooking dinner while verity is taking Wade for a bike "ride" ie pushing him around... DH has to re-fit trainer wheels for him. Good girl Verity :)
-
Hello!
Well our rain didn't last long - so I guess we're in for level 3 restrictions (no hose usage) for a while longer.
Thanks to all those who commented on Aleise's photo. Yeah she's a cutie but I guess every mum thinks that about their child!
Unforntunately I have a painful ear infection. I saw the doc today so I'm on rulide antibiotics. Maybe it will get me out of cooking tonight??
Jess: hope Patrick gets better really soon - you haven't had a good run lately darls and I pray things get better for you really soon!
Candy: How is Ryan doing lately? I finally finished my pram blankie yesterday and Matt can no longer give me rubbish about not finishing my knitted projects! Just hope I can get the poncho done for Aleise (with goochie feathers and puffed wool). Should be cute once its completed.
Nickers: Great to hear Nixon is doing so well. I have no idea how much my little poppett weighs since her last one was 3 weeks ago she was 3.4kg (about 300 gram increase from birth). I suppose I should scout around for a baby club session at the local pharmacies.
Sorry not many personals - kinda tired. Well hope to catch you again soon. Love to all mums and bubs! :)
-
IK - can you email me? As it turns out, one of the women for ACA story couldn't do it baby has bad bronchitis :( So there's a spot if you want it ;) info@bellybelly.com.au
-
Patrick is still in the headbox and will be in there for a little while yet, I was able to hold him today and give him a feed(no nutrition there!) and he enjoyed being with his mummy so much he played up for the nurses for 4 hours,(we left at 2.30 and he finally went to sleep around 6.30). Then he slept for 2 hrs woke for a feed and then went straight off to sleep again. His oxygen flow has been reduced to 25% so that is good.
-
Neeny – Good on you for finishing the blanket!!! You’ll have to send me a picture!! Your Matt better have taken over the cooking! Hope your ear feels better soon!!!
Bath – Your Verity sounds like such a treasure!!!!
IK – Yay for Oscar being so great for the GP!!!!! Fingers crossed things sort themselves out now!!!
Nic – I was going to do Ryan’s while he was asleep but he woke up as soon as I started fiddling with his feet. So I turned it into a game. Tickling him etc. Maybe do it when Nixon’s awake but relaxed. Just after a feed or during playtime?
Tanya – I wish I had thought about printing them onto a canvas!!! Hmmm……
Jess – Still thinking about you and your little Pat!! I really am hoping everything sorts itself out soon. And then runs smoother for you all!!!
As for our household, we’re working on Ryan putting himself to sleep more this week. He does it anyway but I want to get it consistent. Normally I let him fall asleep in the bouncer and then put him to bed but now (since Saturday night) he’s having ½ his bottle, his bath, and then the other ½ of his bottle and into bed. So he’s still pretty awake but drowsy from the bath & bottle. I wrap him up then put him in bed. I just talk to him to make sure he’s settled then walk out. So far all 3 nights I haven’t had to go back in because he’s crashed himself out and…. He sleeps from about 8 till 4:30 / 5am! I’m so happy Seems to be working even if he’s cranky in the bouncer (not due to nappy or hunger) I’ve been working on the just talking to him technique and he’s settling himself down then to.
-
morning all,
well Nixon had his biggest sleep ever last night! his last proper feed was 150ml bottle @ 9pm. then i topped him up bf @ 10.30pm and went down at 11pm.
he has only just woken for his feed at 9am!! i kept waking up in anticipation he would wake up! i woke at 6.30am (his normal wake up time) then when i woke at 8am and he still was asleep i took the oportunity to have breakky and get myself ready.
Jess- Oh I am glad to hear patrick is going well, good that his oxygen flow is down alot to what it was. Im glad you got a cuddle and feed too.
Candy- I will have to try doing when he is awake, he had paint all under his nails yesterday cause when i put it on he clenched his fist!
Man he has a strong grip, last night i was handing him to dh to get into the bath and he grabbed onto the cord of my hoodie, it took a good 15-20seconds to uncurl his fingers and let go!
-
Nic - yay for the big sleep!!!! I didn't do ryan's hands because I couldn't get him to unclench his fists. it's a natural reflex for them to close their hands when something touches their palm. I hear you on the strong grip. when getting ryan dressed after his baths he usually grabs at my wrist & holds on tight to the skin he gets. He's left nasty scratches!
-
Happy Birthday Bath!!!!!
I hope you have a fantasic day and get lots of nice pressies and cuddles!
-
ooh i'm cranky!!! was just at the shops when samuel started screaming - no probs he was due for a feed so i headed for the door. the shop assistant beside me said " oh his hats fallen over his eyes hes probably just scared" - "thanks" i say and try to move ou t of the main aisle which has people every where and toys in prep for the sale to get out of the way to pull it up but she wouldn't let me past just kept on saying '''''he's scared you need to pull his hat up - they get scared and scream when they can't see" - no s**t sherlock if you'd let me move i could fix it ( i couldn't get round the side of the pram to fix itr the place was so packed). i was appreciative when she initially told me but gees its not like i'm going to leave him like that if i can move to a place where i can fix it and currently you are preventing me doing that - aghhhhh!
anyway am typing onehanded so will drop back later
-
Happy birthday Bath!!!!
Jaspen - I don't blame you for being cranky. I would have been to!!! People offer their advice but then don't stop to think that you can't always do something the instant they tell you about it!!!
-
Jaspen, What a rude woman. Busybody. Fancy not even giving you a chance to fix it and Ijust love how she assumed you had no idea about babies. I get that too especially when I'm pregnant and a alone ( not very often) or have one child with me and people just assume it's your first or second coming and they start giving you advice,
i ask them how man children they have usually the answer is one or two and I say oh how lovely this is my fifth. (jaws drop, very funny)
Happy Birthday Bath, hope you have a lovely day.
My gripe for the day is that I rang Centrelink agasin today as we still haven't been paid and the woman I spoke to said no nothing has been done with the claim, I said that it has been nearly four weeks and the man I spoke to on Friday said he would call the Mackay office and see what the hold up is and get them to call me bvack so I waited and waited and this morning thought I'd better ring again and this lady told me the same thing she is also going to ring them and get them to call me. I won't hold my breath.
I'm getting cranky now. We don't need the money but I would like to be paid it none the less.
-
dee how infuriating!!! I hope they pay you soon.
-
thanks for reminding me Dee - I need to ring C'link too - they sent me a pile of paperwork yesterday some of which I'm confused about.
Happy Birthday Bathsheba - hope you have a good day.
-
Happy Birthday Bath, hope you have a lovely day.
Well I got some good news today, my best friend from Sydney has just found out that she is pg with her 3rd. She only had her little boy in March this year, so she is happy, excited and nervous at how close in age they will be. She's not even sure how far along she is, but I'm just so happy for her.
Be back later to do more personals.
hugs xoxo
-
ok now i'm getting more annoyed and would just like to say some people don't deserve the pay packets they get for working in customer service - eg family assistance office.
I got given a two page form from the hospital to fill in to send in for Medicare and Family Assistance - I have now been sent back a letter saying give us all this other information - which we have given them some of numerous times before - and do it within 14 days or we'll reject your claim. No where in the letter does it say what it relates to I assume the $3K and I realise its a legislative requirement that they need the info but why don't they give us all this paperwork at the start so it can be done in a timely manner - It'll now be another month before I see the money - not that I need it but ...... - did everyone else have this issue or is it just me out in the sticks only being given half the paperwork at the start. MOre to the point why when I ring them to ask a couple of things are they extremely rude in their responses to my questions when I'm just trying to ensure we fill in the correct. Aagghh!!!
Maybe I should just go back to bed for the day - everything seems to be getting to me
-
I only got the 2 pages & got our money.

Centrelink...don't get me started! At least, for once, they came good for me with the maternity payments, but otherwise they are the bane of my life.
Well, attachment has not yet come good and it has, in fact, been horrendous in the last 24 hours. Last night was awful and I was in tears because my discomfort was upsetting Oscar. A good night was not had. I must have been out of my head with distress because I couldn't comfort Oscar like I know I can, I was making him wait for everything and then DP came in to finish off a nappy change for me because I started to fall into a stupor of tears and "sorry's" to Oscar...AND I couldn't even kiss his angry little face because of this F*ing cold sore!!! ARGH!
Anyhoo, I have spoken to the LC and if nothing comes up before hand, I have an appointment on Thursday arvo.
I just want to feed my beautiful little boy!!!! OK, I must still be sort of going out of my head...
Oh, because of the horrendous night, I had to bail on my SIL and niece for her shots - I felt awful doing it, but I would have been a risk on the roads with my state of mind and after about 4 hours sleep on top of that.
I REALLY hope everyone else is having a better day! Jess, sounds like things are looking up for you :)

Yeh Candy well I'm pretty sure all this extra info is to do with Family Tax Benefit a and B more than the maternity payment but no one on the end of the phone was able to tell me that. Can I ask how they got your bank details if you only filled in the first form??
IK sounds like your day is worse than mine - hope you get the chance to catch up on some sleep which I'm sure will put your head in a better place. You are doing wonderful things for Oscar try not to let the feeding get you down I'm sure the LC will be able to help you more on Thursday with sorting it all out.

Jaspen - the one form I was given had a space on it for bank details.
IK - Hugs hon. I hope things there improve soon. I can only imagine the distress you both must be feeling!
