Oh, Rory, I hope you got good sleep after your post!
Mel - you're no help at all! You're the devil on my shoulder, talking over the angel on the other that says 'do you want to go to Ireland?'...
Ah, the wedding. Well, I'll tell you in person, cos I'll say something incriminating and this is a public forum! Needless to say, I was the worst bridesmaid in the world. My cousin passed out on the floor of the hairdressers and I had to get my makeup done whilst lying on the couch being fed banana cake to get my blood sugar levels up...disgraceful. And then I was heat-stressed during the photos because it was that 42 degree Valentines Day a few years ago. Not helping that I was at my biggest then, so anything I ate had to go that much further to keep me going! I was a disgrace. Bongs and G&T's the night before was not a good idea (considering there was more G than T in a tumbler glass...). Anyway, the hairdressers thought it was a hoot. Until last May, I had been going there since early 2000, so it's a long history. I feel bad because I do know they would love to see Oscar, but Pako's so out of my way now that I don't have a reason to go there.
Grandma's coming for Oscar soon, and he's asleep in the sling. He'll need a nappy change before he goes, so I may have to wake him up for that. Being that she will be on the road with him, I would like to have him fuss-free as possible, so I'll have him in a disposable, and possibly booby feed him as well. Nothing worse than being out and about, trying to change the nappy of a little monkey who crawls off as quick as a flash with bare bum in the air...
-
Good afternoon girls... I'll get back in here later but until then: Nickers and Rory: I have just sent Kathryn (AstroLady) updated avatars with your new bumps etc. Nic... not sure what happened last time but I might have sent it to the wrong address... sorry about the wait.
-
Hi everyone
IK - Thanks for sharing your photos and videos with me. Oscar looks so gorgeous doing his walk, plonk, walk, plonk thang! Coco looks lovely - is she short haired or Shawn? Ive not seen a westy without a longish coat before. LOL with your bridesmaid story. The one time i've been a bridemaid i was pretty disgraceful - there was a subsidised bar so a bottle of wine was only the same as 2 glasses so we all ended up walking round swigging out of bottles, i had a red dress on which looked lovely on at the start but after having been on the bouncy castle (V proud that me and the bride were the 1st ones on), being sloshed, mascara down face, black bra strap showing, carrying a bottle of wine - lets just say i looked more like a hooker on the photos (not the official ones thank god - just the ones taken by friends in the evening.) ahh those were the days, i'm such a 2 pot screamer (love that saying) now that i'm dreading going back home and being expected to keep up with everyone on pints.
Rory - cor hope you've managed to get some sleep since your post - you poor thing.
Mel - still haven't made those caramel slices yet as went out this morning and still forgot to pick up a slice tray - grrrrr. As predicted i've already launched into the hobnobs - theres still enough left to use as long as i don't pinch anymore. Your veg, lentil and bacon soup sounds so nice. I love eating hearty soups on cold days. I cheated with the lamington cake train and made it using less fiddly items. I have it on my photobucket site (was so impressed with IK's that i started one too).
Had Will and Oscar weighed and measured today and i'm so pleased. Will's stats are:
wt: 8.16kg, length 70cm, hc 44cm so he's finally on the scale for his height which i'm so pleased with. He's small but he's in proportions so i'm happy (I'm short and DH isn't exactly tall). They've given me a referral to talk to a dietician about the dairy intolerance as i don't want to bf past 12 months but he's still intolerant so hopefully she'll give me some ideas as i don't want to do formula and chn said i could try soy but he may be intolerant to that for now. Oscar was between 40-50th percentiles for his measurements too so i'm very happy with that and am going to email them to my inlaws (when visiting earlier this year they kept going on about 'was he underwieght for his age?' and that we didn't feed him enough junk food - wtf? so pffft to them!
Hope eveyone's good today
Julie x

Hi everyone, just don't seem to have time for computer anymore. Well it looks like a few of us aren't getting much sleep. Nathan is cutting his 4th tooth and I am crying out for a good nights sleep. He hasn't really slept well since 6 months. I think he's out of the habit now.
Wow, congrats bath, member of the month. Do you get a prize?
Yes, birthdays are coming up. My mothers group from church meet on Nathans actual birthday and I'm rostered on to bring morning tea. So that works out well. Haven't thought about the cake yet. Something easy, I like the clock one (jelly numbers and jelly snakes for the hands) but will wait till he is older because of the lollies on it.
Hope all is well with everyone and will try to pop in more often.
-
Hi Karen, good to see you back :)
Julie - the photos are gorgeous! Great train cake, too! Glad you're not stressing about Will's stats - my GF has two slim babies, one's nearly 3 and the other nearly 4 - we've called them both Golum when we go camping and they're getting around buck naked, cos they're so skinny! But they are completely healthy and very cute, so no stress.
I have no idea what Oscar weighs, next month I'll see, but I'm guessing Oscar is over 11 kilos, or about 11. Who knows? At least he doesn't seem to have boy-boobies now...
Well, better go collect car and boy.
Bit norty, but I got my special order from PashParties and surprised DP with it when he got home early...nice to be able to make noise whilst DTD with no boy in the house ;) A remote controlled device, so I gave the remote to DP and he was trying to make the connection between that and my giggly squirm whenever he pressed the button...felt a bit like an experiment to replicate Pavlov's dogs experiment, with the reward for action... I'd been feeling antsy all day, not quite sure why, but that scratched my itch!
-
Thanks IK. I don't know what Nathan weighs either. Both my other boys are skin and bones. Nathan still has the baby boobies tho:D
Oh and Rory, Congrats!!!!! I just noticed your ticker. Hope you have been feeling okay.
-
Hi all well our camping trip was good except the dust, it's just so dry up here it's not funny. We got home on Sunday night and unpacked and dusted all the dirt off everything and went to bed. Monday was a lazy day didn't do to much, DH was making a light for the back door of the 4wd and put a screw driver through his hand so I've had him home for the last two days. Cody is still not sleeping through so got him checked again and he's all better so we just have to find a way to get him to sleep through the night again, so I can sympathise with you Rory and Karen and anyone else having problems with their bubs. Only another 4 days until mothers day. Ok will go for now and try and get back on later.
hugs xoxo
-
Hiya Karen! :) Thanks... yes I received a $20 Coles Myer gift card...well, it's in the mail anyhow! And I've another skinny mini... Niall is probably only about 8kg as well... I haven't been taking him for checkups but will soon for his 1 yo one.
boys too demanding... I'll try again later!
-
oooo hateful desktop computer (I'm on the lap top now) email not sending stuff :( IK I wrote that I was having trouble logging onto your site to see your video... and lots of other newsy stuff :( send me something again so i can receive your email addy on the laptop (I've shut down the desktop). I've also added a password to my Photobucket site... email me if you need it... oh why does everything have to be so complicated~!?
ETA: Hi Amanda :) sorry I missed your post... ouchy! hope your Dh's hand heals quicky... hand injuries can be very frustrating, left or right? I hope Cody sleeps well tonight... Niall has only slept 'through' once (11pm - 6.55am)
-
Rory - you poor love, 5am is not a good time to be waking up. Hope you got some more shut eye.
IK - I am the evil one LOL!!!! I can never convince myself not to buy, can't seem to help it, so I am useless trying to convince others. I now really want to hear the full story of the wedding. Never heard of PashParties before but it does sound interesting!!! Glad your itch is scratched LOL!!!!
Julie - I haven't made it either. How many packets of biscuits was it? Couldn't remember if it was one or two. I love these crazy wedding stories! I certainly can't drink as much as I used to. Thats great that both boys are doing well. I have a very light baby too! She was only just over 7kgs at her 8 mth check up so not sure what she is now but she is only light. Make the email to inlaws a good one LOL!!!
Karen - great to hear from you. Sorry to hear you haven't been getting any sleep, teething is so horrible. Marley is going through it at the moment and she is driving me insane!!! She still only has 2 teeth but her gums are swollen so more must be coming. The clock cake is gorgeous. Make sure you get pics of it.
Amanda - glad your trip went well. Hope DH's hand gets better, sounds like a nasty injury! Marley is sleeping fine at night (thank god) but is just so cranky during the day. Wish her teeth would just bust through.
Bath - you'll have to email me your password. Have you added any new pics to your site. I noticed you have changed your ticker, such a cute picture, the other one was cute too with their footy colours.
Didn't take Marley swimming today due to her cold (again!) and she has been feral! She is normally a good sleeper during the day and today she has been lucky if she slept an hour! The rest of the day she has been just crying at anything and even holding her doesn't seem to do much! Her top gums are very swollen and i can see something there but hard to see as she won't keep her head still for very long. Just hope she is better tomorrow. I have an open day to go to for Chelsea primary school tomorrow, which I am looking forward to. Chelsea is so excited to be seeing her school, so hopefully Marley is not too grumpy! Better be off, Heroes is on!
Hope babies sleep well tonight.
-
hi all, quick one from me again
there are new pics on Flynn's site - DH turned him into a pegasuarus!
gotta go - tired
-
hello girls,
just checking up on you all!
Ally is well, no teeth yet, but she is the baby of the bunch, she turns 10 months today I think?? She is till only camando crawling too - but she is almost up on all fours... She can pull herself up in her cot and she good understanding of yes, no, kiss, ect... and she can say a few words... I've been teaching her to sign, but she is not getting too far, when she wants a drink (which in sign in like drinking a cup of water) she waves bye bye.. it is pretty funny...not sure if she will say water before she can sign it, but I will keep you posted.
well, off to read a few pages back - congrats Baths, on member of the month, you deserve it! Hugs!
-
grrrr i am not a happy bunny. We are going to have to be hard and get rid of Will's dummy - i was up 9 times last night to pop it back in and it's getting ridiculous. Even worse Oscar is coming down with a really nasty sounding cough and Will has been wingeing lots so i guess he will too. I am so annoyed as i know the source of this as yet again my friend bought her kids (who were coughing horrendously) to my walking group on Tuesday and let them intermingle and cough over everyone elses kids. Is it just me? i think it's really poor to take your kids somewhere where they are going to mingle with other kids when they are sick with something contagious. I'm also annoyed as i was going to meet some Perth BB mums at one of their boys parties tomorrow and i'm not going to be able to now as i'm not passing on my kids illness to anyone else. i was so looking forward to meeting some more people. grrrrrrr rant now over, hope i haven't offended anyone.
x
ETA just read that and it sounds like i'm most bothered about not being able to go out anywhere which isn't the case. I find it so distressing when osc and Will are sick as they are so uncomfy, at least Osc can usually let me know where hurts so i can help but Will can't and has no idea how to blow his nose so he just has to suffer poor mite. Hope it's 'just' a cough and doesn't turn into a cold also. grrrr
-
Completely understand both reasons for being annoyed, Julie! I hate it, too! Forgot to answer your question the other day, too - Coco is clipped, but I'm going to let her hair grow, cos I love a scruffy dog and she'll need her coat through winter. Summer I might clip it again, especially when we leave her with someone when we go to Ireland in Jan - don't want to leave a dog that needs grooming with some poor sod!
Just popping in quickly, got to make hte most of Oscar free time...
-
Hi everyone... back from French Music feeling centered again. The boys are always really ratty of a Thursday morning and getting them ready to go is horrendous... but once i get there everything falls into place again and afterwards we go to a cafe and have a latte and a baby chino and all's well again :) But before I post anything else I'm going to try IK's and Rory's PhotoBucket sites...
ETA: Oh my gosh Oscar is so cute toddling! And the way he "crawls" ie up on all fours is exactly how Niall does it! Coco is very cute too, clipped or unclipped, wouldn't matter :)
Now for Flying Flynnie!!!... Oh but before I go, IK: I didn't have any trouble logging onto your site this time... weird... I didn't do anything different.
-
Bath, just pm'd you the link and password :)
Hope you enjoy the pegasaurus.....
-
I've got your site open now Rory :) Played the gate video LOL but can't find the flying Flynnie one... it's interesting to see our babes standing hey? Niall hasn't stood alone yet that I know of... but it's not far off... anyhow back to feeding baby bird mouths (the boys) and checking out PhotoBucket... oh and Mel I'll email you my password soon but I haven't added anything in a while... I'll let you know when I do. And Julie: don't worry, I feel exactly the same when my kids catch something off other kids if they have been brought out to socialise when still contagious. I used to get really peeved about it when i worked with kids because invariably I would contract the illness and have to take time off work.... and because I was a casual I didn't get paid :( ...back later...
-
Rory - I was wondering what the pegasaurus would be before I opened it and had a good laugh when I saw what it was! Flynn is so cute, love his standing up pics.
CC - so nice to hear from you again. Ally sounds like she is doing very well. I remember you saying a while ago that you were doing signing. You'll have work out when Ally waves is she asking for a drink or saying bye LOL!!! How cute to see.
Julie - I am with you too. I hate it when people bring sick kids to parties etc. My GF had her baby in Nov and one of her friends bought her 3 kids in to see the baby when they all had colds, they were coughing the whole time! My GF ended up taking the baby to the nursery to keep him away from them. I'm sorry you miss your get together tomorrow, that would have been fun for you and the boys. I hate missing out on going out, I enjoy getting out of the house. Hope the boys feel better soon.
Bath - I hate when I have to leave the house by a certain time, its always chaos and I never seem to leave at the right time!!! I am renowned for running late.
Had the open day at Chelsea's prospective school this morning. We were shown around by 2 lovely grade 6 boys who did a great job of giving us the tour. Chelsea got to sit in the prep class and participate in a song and watch show and tell. She loved it. It helped that 2 kids who went to creche with her last year were in the class. The teacher was lovely and I hope Chelsea gets her next year. It is only a very small school with only 1 prep class and sometimes they have a Prep/1 comp class. We toured the music room, computer room, art room, languages room and library. Also got to meet the principal and she was really nice too. Marley was extremely good as we were there for over an hour. After her feral mood yesterday I was worried! Today she has been better, had a good sleep this morning and wasn't too cranky when she woke up. Hopefully her happy moods have returned.
Hope everyone is having a good day!
-
Hi all
have calmed down since earlier. Osc is coughing like a heavy smoker but seems to feel ok as is being his normal daft self. Will isn't showing any signs yet but i can't believe he won't catch it from Oscar.
Hi to Karen and CeCe
Mel - Chelsea's school sounds really great - when does she start? Do you have to do stuff this early for next january or is it earlier? I'm so ignorant of the school finding process and timimg - good job i've got a while to go before having to worry - hopefully!
IK - Wowww! Pashparties - ill have to google that! hope it doesn't come up with anything too saucy!
Anyway, best be off to bed and hope that a certain little Mr sleeps better than last night!
night night folks
Julie x

hi everyone, just quickly popping in, im on dial up and its very slow. should have broadband next week and be able to get a lot easier.
Our move did not go smoothly at all and still not.
Nixon has conjunctivits, a cold and a middle ear infection.
hope your all keeping well and i will try and catch up soon/
thinking of u all...
-
HI girls,
Just popping thorugh to say hello. I miss being able to get into here and catch up more regularly. I have to say it is kinda weird trying to get to know a new Belly buddy group, I guess it is still early days yet, but I dont think it will be the same as my Junies.
Tori is sleeping better (thank GOODNESS), but still cutting teeth- she has been cutting teeth for 5 weeks straight now, but she will have gone from 2 to 7 teeth soon.
Had a total POO of a day yesterday, which got me stressed out ( I have had a HUGE vent about it in the boo hoo room) and our car is playing up which is a pain, but other than that I can say things really arent too bad, and all in all we are well and happy.
Tori has just learnt to stand up without pulling herself up on anything, she stands up and then isnt too sure what to do with herself so she just stands there for a while and sits down again and crawls off. She is still crusing around the furniture and will walk holding our hands, but isnt confident enough to walk off on her own yet.
Nic- Sorry to hear that your move wasnt smooth sailing, I hope that you get yourself in and settled really soon, and Nixon gets well quickly.
Julie- Bummer about missing the meet today, I was looking forward to meeting another Junie. Maybe yo and I can catch up for a coffee or something some time? My email address is in my profile if you want drop me a line to organise a catch up.
CC- It is great to hear that Ally is travelling along well, you will probably find she will be like Tori and cut all of her teeth at once.
BIg hello to everyone else, I am hoping tofind some time over the weekend to come in and catch up properly on everyones news!
-
Good afternoon :)
Ali: great to see you... I'll check out your BooHoo next... I think we've all had a bit of a rough trot lately... of one kind or another... so good to be able to vent here though. How are you feeling? Don't save all the symptoms for your Belly Buds... you must be feeling so tired and just want to sleep all day?
Nic: Oh no! share the horrors... moving at anytime is hard let alone doing it when preggers and with a baby... Hope Nixon gets well soon and at least is enjoying exploring his new environment.
Julie: Good to see you're feeling better... Will might not catch it y'know... when we all got sick recently my DD never contracted it despite having her brothers coughing all over her etc. Fingers crossed for him!
Well I had plans of going out today, into the city, but I just couldn't muster the energy. Only just managed to get Wade to kinder, where is is now. Niall is alseep so it's a big WooHoo here ATM. Other news is that DH is applying for another role (in the same office, more senior than current role) so we are quietly optimistic of him receiving that. A few days ago he asked me how I felt about living in Perth for 2 years (there are good jobs going over there in his department). I ummed and ahhed... the "Pro" list was kinda short compared to staying put.... and when I Googled to check out rents in Perth I was gobsmacked! OMG it's twice as much as Melbourne for an equivalent property.... it would almost null and void any financial gain of moving so DH decided to go for another job here instead (he has been doing his current role for 3 years and is up for another challenge)... although I have to admit, I love Perth and the idea did kinda appeal (I've lived there before). I have to say I do have Gypsy blood (figuratively speaking LOL) and would enjoy moving all over the place, even O/S for DH's career... even Verity was open to the idea (we ran it past her)... she'd adapt really well to any environment i think. Anyway it's interesting that having my Junies makes it easy to consider mobility. Thinking of you Nic... hope the dust settles soon :)
-
Oh, crap, Ali - I was going to ask you how things were with your new car :(
Nickers - I hope things pan out soon!
I went to another swimming pool today because I didn't fancy driving to our Saturday pool and I met up with a school friend I hadn't seen in years. Oscar was flirting and being cheeky, then I look up at the lady he's following and gurgling at, she looks at me and we realised who the other was! It was meant to be, cos I had gone to the pool attached to a gym closer to Knox but a school group was about to use it, so I got my money back and moved on.
I also, quite literally, bumped into Mel at Knox! I was supposed to be doing a 'quick in and out', but ducked into a shop to see if they had any nappy covers, and in my distraction slammed straight into Mel's pusher - very funny, had a mini catch-up and parted ways.
Hoping to get Oscar to sleep for a bit now so that I can quickly write some of my assignment - it needs to be just anything now, as the next assignment is looming and is worth more, grrr.
Anyway, better go and get into 'study zone'. Hope everyone has nice weekends and Mothers' Day if I don't get on before then...
-
Hi Guys,
Well anohter tough day here and I feel quite emotionally spent tonight. I found out today that my best friend who was due to have her baby 4 weeks before me had gone for her 12 weeks U/S only to find out that she had been preg with identical twins and she had lost them at 7w & 7w4d. I went and spent the afternoon with her, she is trying to be strong but I know that she is really upset, her DH works away out in the NT and is trying to get a flight back to be with her. She is going in for a D&C on monday.
I just feel so bad because I know how much she wanted this baby, and I also feel bad because I am preg and now she is not, i know that she doesnt hold that against me, but still.
Anyway tomorrow is a new day and it is Mothers day on sunday so I am just going to have a nice relaxing weekend, and start the week fresh on monday.
-
Julie - I hope Will manages to stay "germ free"! Chelsea starts school at end of Jan next year. Its so scary to think my little baby will be going to school next year. She is very excited about it though so thats really nice and comforting. Hope you got a good nights sleep last night.
NIc - good to hear from you. I read post in preggie journal, you poor thing. Thinking of you and hope things and Nixons illnesses improve soon.
Ali - i read your boo hoo and what a big boo hoo that was! what a nightmare of a day. Hope Tori's teeth come through soon and gives her some relief. Marley has been simliar with only 2 still but more pushing up. I don't remember Chelsea being this bad. So sorry to hear about your friends twins, what an awful thing for her and her DH to go through.
Bath - I am glad you are not moving away!!!! Good luck to DH on his new job. Melb was once the 2nd most exp city to live in and I think Qld and WA have overtaken it. I know Qld is going through a massive property boom ATM.
IK - must have been the day for running into people and literally with us!!!! How funny, being in the same shop at same time and crashing prams too! Hope you manage to get your assignment done and DP made good progress on the deck. Happy mothers day to you too, have a great one if we don't hear from you before then.
Well I had a great day today. MIL took Chelsea today and they went bowling again (Chelsea is hooked now!), then MIL, her mum and Chelsea went to a restaurant for lunch, then shopping, then she took Chelsea home for dinner and back to us at 7.30pm. I went shopping myself (and crashed into IK) and got the girls some clothes (nothing for myself which is good for me), had a coffee and just a general walk around, Marley was in a relatively happy mood so that was good. DH and I had Thai takeaway, delicious red curry prawns!! Time for coffee and browse the other posts.
Have a great night :)
-
Hi everyone I think I have solved my problems with what is wrong with Cody, warning TMI coming up. Just after lunch I went to the toilet and when I wiped I noticed that I have indeed got AF back. Lucky me (not), just in time for mothers day, DH said I should feel lucky not to of had AF for such a long time, just wish it had been longer, lol.
Mel it sounds like a really nice school that you have enrolled Chelsea into, and yum on the prawns in red curry.
Ali sorry to hear about your friends twins, and what a shocker of a time with your car, hopefully it won't cost alot to fix. I've got my fingers crossed that next week will be a great one for you. Yay on Tori standing by herself, she'll be walking around in no time you'll see.
IK how's your studing going?
Bath fingers crossed on your DH getting the next job, oh and it was his left hand, you'll never guess what he did today, he was using a metal file and he jabbed into his finger, I swear he's accident prone lately.
Nic I hope that Nixon is on the mend, hopefully your living situation improves soon, it can't be nice living with what you are (I read your pg journal), all I can say is YUK.
Julie I'm so like that, if my boys are sick I would never think of taking them anywhere that they could pass it on. I use to have a friend like that, she would always bring her girls over even when they were sick or had gastro and wouldn't you know it a few days later my boys would have it (not happy Jan).
Rory how are you and Flynn going with that cold?
Bath can I get your passwords, thanks.
Oh and I've got another first here today, Cody is now walking around furniture.
hugs xoxo
-
Nearly lost this post - lucky I saved it in word first!!!!
Oh Amanda it is good news you got to the bottom of Cody's sleep problems - it probably partly explains why you were feeling so cr@p too!! Flynn's cold is on the improve, thanks :)
Mel I can't believe it is already school-choosing time for Chelsea! Pretty soon Marley will be looking at universities at this rate!
Ali, hugs to both you and your GF - how awful for her :(
Hey Nickers, yours in pregnant sympathy is all I can say ;)
Bath, please explain what French Music lessons are - I think you did or were going to a while ago - are they music lessons in French? Is it a sneaky way of killing two birds (language and music) with the one stone? If so, clever idea!! I wonder if they have "Spanish Golf" lessons for kids - I would choose Spanish over any other language for my kids and I think golf would be great to get 'em hooked on early. Either that or soccer (more money innit than AFL or basketball!) I can see little Flynaldo scoring goals for Arsenal already (LOL!!)
Julie Flynn has smokers cough too - problem is he coughs so much he throws up all the time, poor love!
Better go - just had chicken with cumquats for dinner - I want more but I am gonna surprise DH with golden syrup dumplings instead - the poor thing is outside doing a radiator/heater core changeover, muttering to himself "I hate holdens" (he is a ford man at heart but we now drive a holdem stationwagon).
Oh and Ceecee, good to hear from you!!!
-
Hey guys,
Just wanted to pop in and say HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!!
I am working for mothers day can you believe!! DH told me to go into town and buy myself some nice new clothes this week as my pressie. Lachlan made me a card with a hand and foot print (in paint) i think he may have had some help there. It was lovely.
Im looking forward to a nice dinner when i get home and NO WASHING UP TONIGHT!!
I hope everyone is well, sounds like a few of our bubbas have colds at the moment.
Nic - I hope nixon gets better soon, the poor thing has had a bad time lately with sickness hasnt he? Maybe he is just getting it all out of the way!! Im sorry to hear that the move didnt go too smoothly either!
Ali - I hope you are feeling a bit better, so sorry about your friend, what a horrible thing to have to go through!!
Rory - So funny about your DH, mine is the opposite, he is a Holden man but we are driving a ford falcon. Everytime there is the smallest problem with it i hear him mutter to himself (hmmm fords!!)
Amanda - Sorry AF arrived, i really didnt want it to come back but for some reason it made me feel normal again so it wasnt such a bad thing! Yay for Cody walking around the furniture too.
Mel - sounds like you had a really relaxing shopping day, i would love one of those, Lachlan seems to play up when i take him out for too long and WONT stay in the pram for long periods of time anymore, he wants to get out and go so sitting down and having a coffee is out of the question for me at the moment.
Lachlan is almost walking, he has stood up against the wall and let go a few times and just stood there by himself but as soon as he gets the urge to go somewhere he gets down and crawls. He spent most of the day yesterday getting around but walking holding onto the walls, he is a funny kid. When he isnt doing that he is trying to push everything around, i mean everything, he will get all his toys (even the ones without wheels) and he will push them up to the other end of the house and then whinge at me to come and turn them around so he can push them back. He has started pushing his highchair, the dining chairs, and he is really trying hard to move the coffe table but its a bit too heavy at the moment.
he has cut three new teeth in the last week but suprisingly he hasnt been that much worse in the nights just the days. He is now sleeping from 7pm until 1 -2am and then til 6am and he is up(yes, in the dark!!)
Anyway girls, i had better get back to work.
Hope you are all well!!!
-
Nic – Sorry to hear you had a shocking move and that you’ve ended up in such a place. Hope things improves for you quickly and that Nixon is feeling better very soon.
Ali – Hope your car gets sorted soon – sounds like you had such a bad day! Would love to meet up for coffee or something – Will has just started coughing and I have a sore throat so I guess we might be germ-bags for the next week but I’ll send you an email in a few days so we can arrange a get together when we’re germ-free! Sorry to hear about your best friend losing her twins, that’s so awful.
Bath – Good luck for DH getting the new job. Shame you’re not coming to Perth! But completely understand re rental prices – we are renting and paying mortgage as we are building – nightmare!
Mel – Sounds like you had a great day on Friday – red curry prawns sound fab.
Amanda – Am a bit envious AF has turned up for – at least you know where you are at now. I still have no idea and we want #3! Your poor DH – first his hand, then his finger – I migt be abit nervous if he goes near any more tools for a while! Good on Cody walking around the furniture – Will has only just started doing that too – lots of bruises on head from falls now!
Rory – Hope Flynns’ feeling better – poor chappy coughing so much that he’s sick. Lol re Flynaldo! Can I have some golden syrup dumplings – yumm!
Was given a lovely lie-in this morning (although james often does give me a lie-in thsi one was guilt free!) then had sausage, bacon and eggs for a late breakfast, then let on the pute for 10 mins so i could wish my Junies Happy Mother's Day!. Osc gave me a great mum's day pressy this morning - his first wee in a potty!!! Hope that is a sign that he is ready to start TT. Anyway off to do something nice, i think we're off to a playground near the river for a picninc (not that i'm hungry yet after the huge brekky). Hope you all have a lovely day.

Hey Julie,
Sounds like you had a lovely morning and Yay for Oscar and the potty!!
Bath - forgot to include you in my last post!! Oh dear. As for the moving, i guess im a bit like you (gypsy) but at the same time as much as i would love to see new places, i HATE moving, packing, unpacking etc. We moved 6 times in two years and i was over it!! Good luck to DH with the job.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY everyone!
Amanda - what a lovely mothers day present, getting AF back! At least you have an answer as to whats been going on. Hope you are not feeling too crappy today and the boys spoil you!
Rory - it has been a scary process thinking about schools at least with uni they can pick their own LOL!!! Glad to hear Flynn is starting to get over his cold. Chicken and cumquats sounds interesting - do you have a cumquat tree? And my DH loves golden syrup dumplings, might have to get you to make him some, they are a bit sickly for me.
Dee - bummer having to work today, but have fun buying yourself some new clothes. Lachlan sounds like he is mastering the art of walking, he'll soon let go of all the things and go for it. LOL about pushing furniture around - Marley loves pushing our bar stools but on tiles they make an awful noise. I can usually only stop for a coffee if I have food for Marley, otherwise she wont sit still for long. I just take vegimite bread and that keeps her amused for a little while, long enough to finish a coffee LOL!!! Thats great news about his teeth and getting up in the dark must not be fun, esp since its still dark!
Julie - sounds like you had a lovely breaky. Thats wonderful news that Oscar used the potty, well done Oscar. Enjoy your picnic at the playground.
My GF is leaving for Japan in 2 weeks so we got together with some other friends for a bit of a farewell party. Marley still hasn't been so great, so MIL came to babysit and we just took Chelsea. We had a brilliant night, the boys got a bit drunk and were in the spa outside for most of the night until we had to drag them out at 11pm! I am sure they would have stayed in all night. This morning I got b'fast in bed (cold cup of tea, burnt scrambled eggs, good bacon!), but it was still a lovely thought. DH got up when Marley woke but forgot to give her b'fast! I wondered why she was so unhappy this morning, thought it was just her cold. Chelsea slept in until 9.30 as she didn't go to bed until late last night. My present from kinder was a mug with her drawings on it and her name, they must have fired them because the drawings don't come off, very sweet. It was wrapped in cellophane and a card in the shape of a flower. I just love getting their homemade presents. DH also bought on behalf of the girls a new pair of pj's which Chelsea picked, some new slippers and a years subscription to Donna Hay magazine. I felt very spoilt. Chelsea got up and rushed and gave me the biggest cuddle and kiss and said Happy Mothers Day mum! These are the days I just love being a mum! DH working this afternoon, so just home alone with my girls. Marley still not well so may take her to Dr's next week as I think she has more than just a cold.
I hope you are being spoilt today as you all deserve it.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY ALL.
I'll be back tomorrow, hope you all had a great day.

Good afternoon Junies :) Hope you all had a lovely day yesterday... I was out all day.... first church with Verity then straight into the city to the footy where we watched a real nail-biter against Melbourne... but we won :) I was so engorged when i got back! Haven't been that big since my milk came in! Lucky Niall was hungry.... DH did well looking after both boys all day... and held off the last feed knowing that I would be home full. Niall also turned 11 months old yesterday too... I've been meaning to take some new piccys of him... when i have I'll send out my password to those who have asked (unless you can remember the name of my late cat LOL... it's his name). Rory: yes French Music classes are every Thursday morning from 9.30am -10am. They run according to the school terms and are roughly $100 per term. The classes are designed for 0-4 y.o children who are either fluent or at a beginner level in French. It is full immersion (English is hardly spoken during the class). Simple songs constitute the main part of each lesson. The small group (maximum 10, usually about 8 mums/child per lesson) sits in a circle and sings about 4 regular/2 new songs per lesson. Every lesson starts and ends with a Bonjour/Au reviour song so the repetition is helping the beginners to become familiar with the language. Percussion instruments are used for about half of the songs, hand actions for all the others. This is Wade's favourite aspect and he has picked up "rhythm" and following instructions extremely well.... Niall loves shaking the maraccas and clochettes (bells) too. There is also a piano and the teacher helps the children follow simple tunes on it if they are able (we are doing the French version of Do-Re-Me at the moment). Our teacher, who has young children of her own (at school) has a lovely vibrant personality and is also very encouraging as I practise my broken French too LOL We also do a bit of dancing and role play (pretending to be animals... French animals make slightly different sounds too Meu Meu (I think for Moo Moo) hehe. Anyhow we just love it... it's held in a pretty room with stained class windows so the whole thing is thoroughly enjoyable in every way. I hope to continue taking my boys until Niall is 4yo! ROFL at Spanish Golf lessons!!! But be warned, my mother forced me to do golf when I was verity's age (12/13) and even though I was a submissive child and begrudgingly went along with it i loathed it and it has turned me off the sport even though technically i have an excellent swing etc. If I thought Wade disliked any aspect of these French Music classes I wouldn't persist... it's sometimes tricky knowing what direction or activity to support your kids with, especially when they are very young... but their personalities often point the way... Wade is a very sensitive little guy and has always enjoyed listening to melodic sounds and constantly nags Verity to put on her school French DVD so this, for him, is a natural extention. It might not be right for Niall, but I hope so, because I too really enjoy it and am also getting to know the other mums :)
back a bit later...

Argh, my head's done in! And there's more to do! I'm at uni trying to complete an assignment I barely understand at the computer lab...by tomorrow. Actually, the plan is to have it finished and ready to fax in about an hour and a half's time. I have my pump here, but may not need it.
Bath - keep forgetting to say that I'm glad you're not moving interstate!! It's great that Verity is adaptable, though, should it come up again.
Ali - also forgot to say that I was very sad to read about your GF - we just plod along taking for granted that we have our children, and every once in a while something happens to someone and you just want to hug your own kids to be grateful that they're there with you and all in one piece. That's been my headspace for 3 weeks now. I'm sure my course co-ordinators are thinking "Can she just get over it?", but that's the way it is. I hope you're travelling well with your little bunch of cells :)
I've not posted in a while, so I've gone blank, and I'm not using my computer so it feels like another landscape and I've forgotten the things I wanted to say.
Mel - I was nearly given more grief today with the course co-ordinator, but to make things easier for him, he came down to the labs and gave me a kickstart with some of my questions...so that I can hand this in on time and create less of a headache! The assignments, thankfully for me, have not been returned to other students yet, so I have a very small window of opportunity to hand in my work. And with a special consideration, I'm probably going to lift myself that bit further from a fail! I hope...
Better get back into my headspace - pretend I'm not a mummy with a building milk supply in one boob and pretend I'm a student who has had no intervening factors into handing in this assignment...repeat after me, "statistics are my friend, statistics are my friend, of COURSE I know what I'm looking for"...
-
Oh IK! Had to giggle at "Statistics are my friend" :) You can do it matey... one paragraph at a time... I remember all too well checking my word count every 5 minutes desperately trying to fill out a 2000 word essay... and other manic situations like that. Try to get in that zone... this too will pass... we'll cheer you on! :)
-
If it were an essay I wouldn't be so lost! I have specific questions to answer, according to data sets, and there is no way I can flummox the marker with turn of phrase on this one!! I wish...but, yes, I can do it...getting there...
-
Ooooh tricky! sending some Clarity vibes your way IK!
The Boys have me running in circles ATM. Verity has stayed back at school (library) and I've lost my coffee... BUT I have cleared one clutter HotSpot (FlyLady term for a place that attracts clutter)... better keep plugging on...
Ali: I'm also thinking of your GF today... hope her D&C went smoothly and that she's not in too much physical/emotional pain. Please don't feel too bad about your own pregnancy... your friend will no doubt follow you before too long... I managed to conceive Wade 3 months after a D&C... still, it will take time to heal and move on I know.

Hi Ladies,
Dee - hear you with Lachlan pushing stuff around - Will keeps pushing Osc's wooden chairs across the tiles and the noise it makes is so painful! How funny - your post yesterday wasn't there when i posted - shows how long it takes me to read through posts, write down replys, type in word then post as you 1/2 hour before me
Mel - Your mothers day mug sounds lovely. i love getting magazine subscriptions for Pressies - my boys got me better homes and gardens for christmas and it feels like i get a pressy every month when it comes. Hope Marley's feeling better.
Bath - The French music class sounds really nice. Can i get your password when you've done your new pickies? Would love to see them.
IK - Good luck at getting your assignment done - statistics are your friend!!!??!!
Had poor night last night as Will coming down with cough/cold. Oscar peed in the potty again today so that was good and got brought bacon sarny in bed this morning which was excellent. I have me slice tray now so am determined to make the caramel slice today!
Hope you are all having a good day
Julie x

Bath - happy 11 months to Niall. Would love to see some new pics of him. The french/music lessons sound so much fun. I don't think I could remember many French words from my high school days.
IK - I hope you managed to get your assignment done, i can't believe they are being so anal about it! Statistics are such fun aren't they - NOT!!!! I am sure you wont fail the assignment - you might surprise yourself.
Julie - i have had Better Homes and Gardens mag too and I love it, which is why I like watching the show. Did you make your slice? Make sure you tell me how it worked out. That is so wonderful that Oscar used the potty! He must feel very chuffed with himself. Sorry to hear will isn't feeling well, hope he feels better soon.
Taking Marley to Dr's tomorrow as she still isn't 100% and her cold has been lingering for ages now. I just want to make sure its nothing more. I did notice today that her top teeth are breaking (I can see a bit of white!!!!) but on one side the gum is really blue, like its bruised. I am not sure if its caused by teething or if she has fallen and knocked it? Her symptoms may just be related to teething but will check it out anyway. The dribbling is ridiculous. She soaks her clothes constantly and she now has to wear a bib all day. Is anyone else experiencing this? DH had an RDO today so he stayed home with Marley and I took Chelsea swimming. She got a certificate today for a "Super Effort" regarding her strokes and floating! I am very proud of her.
-
Hiya Mel :) I'm just off to bed, but I hope Marley's ok and that the doctor puts your mind at ease. Must have been nice having your DH home today and getting to the pool with Chelsea: good girl :) she must love it to do so well... I really have to get Wade involved in swimming... I've badly neglected him in that regard. Meant to take some piccys of Niall today but just didn't get around to it. Niall is drooling something bad too ATM... yep, tops constantly saturated...
Hope you got what you needed to have done done IK ... and Hiya Julie, I'll send out my password when I get some fresh piccys... that photo in my ticker is the most recent... and that was over a month ago. Hope your slice turned out well.... I ended up making 2 batches... cutting with a hot knife worked out much better too, thanks Mel!
ok... this is me signing off girls... nighty nite all :)
