Ha! 1500 posts!!
Ok, 2nd assignment is done and nearly ready to fax off to the assignment people...next one due in two days but I haven't really started it and I have a medical certificate to cover me till Friday...eek!
Amanda - how has your agreement gone? I hope the situation has improved. 'Smothered' indeed. What a noive (gotta pronounce that out loud to know what I'm saying there!). Yep, if only WE could run away when WE feel snowed under by it all - how would the world be???
Jess - I did a bit of a hit and run in my last posts, good to see you are going ok with the brood :) Good luck with the AVON. Pash was my first foray into 'those sorts of things', so it might be a while before I need to place another order! Are you still doing the Alpacas, or is that where DH is now without you? I'm a bit confused, last time you were in you said things had sort of exploded.
This weather is awesome - it's rugging up weather!
So, the job the other night was a house fire, but by the time the first truck got there is was a roof on stumps. It was hot and luckily, the call came through after the gas bullet had exploded (you don't want to be around for the kaboom, and if it's gone 'kaboom' then the house was pretty much a loss well before then!). Things were still going 'pop' for a long time after we got there, but nothing dangerous. For about 3 hours we were operating under the assumption that there were people inside, so it was with great relief that we watched the owners come home. Hot and heavy work, but it was a great team effort and it was great to be on the fireground again after so long out of it. DP was cursing, but he had been drinking and we have made the deal that I go to night time jobs, so there *raspberries*!!
Our niece turned one on Saturday and her and Oscar played so well together - they are too cute together. My SIL's sister is pregnant and I am beside myself with excitement about that news.
Well, I have an assignment to fax, another to start and a week of cramming study into a full schedule to look forward to, so I'd best be off again.
Sorry to miss personals for many of you (I can feel my head starting to wind up again), but hi to everyone and I will be lurking (so forgive me if you see my light on and I don't come back for a while...hee hee, that pesky light...it all makes sense now LOL)
-
Hi all, especially Jess - hope all is well with you :)
Gotta be quick cause I have lots to do - Flynn has been unwell (first a cold, then a cough and teething and now an ear infection, so he is a bit rough ATM (though still a smiley baby which is nice to see!) DH has been marvellous with him - cleaning up spew in the middle of the night so I can sleep and taking him to the docs today and sorting out antibiotics and stuff.
But the good news is I am less stuffed than I was - I think the first trimester tiredness might be behind me:dance: So hence I have lots to do - the place has been neglected for about 10 weeks now, what with me being tired and DH doing his masters.
Better go chickies, will report in once I have my scan (on Wednesday - yay!!)
-
Amanda - hope the rest of the weekend was good for you. Thanks for the vote of confidence re the Shrek pj's. He was pretty happy with them, so I was relieved!
IK - boy your assignments come thick and fast! Most of my postgrads only get 2 per semester, pity you aren't in one of my courses! Good luck with the remaining ones. The fire sounded pretty full on, so glad to hear the owners weren't in there. Did they determine what caused the fire? It must have felt good to get back into it.
Rory - ear infections must be everywhere at the moment. Sorry to hear Flynn has one, hope the antibiotics work fast and relieve the pain. They did a great job clearing Marley's up. Your DH needs to be bottled so we can share him around LOL!!! Great news that the tiredness is passing and good luck with your scan Wed, can't wait to hear all about it.
Marley has finally cut 2 more teeth! One top one and one beside the middle two. The other top one is not far off - about time LOL!!! Her ear infection seems well behind her but she is still a bit snotty. Went to a GF's last night and watched the Grahame Kennedy movie on Foxtel. Did anyone else watch it? I was a bit disappointed, it was still a good movie but they spent alot of time on his early days and virtually nothing to his later life. Steven Currie was absolutely amazing, he looked and sounded so much like him.
Hi to everyone else and hope your all doing well.
-
Jess – Glad you are feeling more settled. So Pat is the second Junie t reach one, have you got anything planned? I can’t believe they are all nearly 1. When I look at Will standing up I think where’s my little baby gone, he’s starting to look more toddler like each day!
IK – OMG! So not only are you a mummy and doing serious amounts of study but you’re also a fighfighter (yes I am slow!) as well! Bl00dy hell!! Can you tell me which shop you get you’re energy from as I need to go there! Congrats on reaching 1500.
Amanda – I completely understand your vent. It’s a shame he doesn’t want to do family time at the weekend when he works so long hours in the week. He really owes it to you to give you some respite from being sole carer for the kids in the week. Saturday must have been the day for it as me and DH had abit of a barney and that was all to do with me no getting a break ie. Him offering to take them out for an hour. I shouldn’t complain though as when he is here he does just as much for the boys as I do but he goes away a lot and get to do social things like eat at restaurants and go to pubs when he’s away so I can’ t help but be envious and want abit of me-time. Hope your ‘agreement’ is working out.
Bath – Also lol at ‘mothers helper’. Mmm am indulging in some port while surfing BB!
Mel – Glad you had a great Indian – hope you had a nice Thai on Saturday!
Nic – Hope you are feeling better. Gggrrr at your dh for ‘being sicker’ than you – that’s just because he is a man!
Rory – Hope Flynn is feeling better – good sign that he is still Mr Smiley even through an ear infection. Glad you’re not feeling so tired and good luck with your scan on Wednesday.
Had an OK weekend. Swimming was nice but it’s so bad timing that Will’s lesson doesn’t start until 9am as he normally has a sleep around then so he was losing the plot by the end of it. Sunday was good as we went to Whiteman Park which had a Thomas the Tank Engine day with all the steam trains dressed up as the trains so Oscar was in heaven and we had 2 trips on them. They also had some really old buses there and they were open so you could get on them. We made the mistake of letting Oscar sit in the drivers seat – BIG clunk and this metal cylinder thing had appeared on the floor and we couldn’t work out where he’d moved it from so we beat a hasty retreat which of course caused a massive tantrum. Wasn’t really a problem as there were so many kids his age there that the was ‘tantrum-a-minute’ happening all around so he fair blended in!
Will is back to normal though still a bit snotty but must feel fine which is great. James is away now until late Thursday so am abit grumpy but the port is helping (only one small glass or I’d never wake up in the morning!).
Hope everyone’s good.
Julie x
PS - Ali - have sent you and email to your hotmail - let me know if you don't receive it - cheers

Hi Guys,
Life is much better here, Tori is soooooooo much better, which is a relief, she is sleeping again and he appetite has returned with gusto.
Nic & amanda: Sorry to her your DH's are being a PITA, I have to thank my lucky sttars everyday that my DH is so good at home helping with the jobs, and Tori and everything. I think every man should be sent on a crash course on what it is like to be a mother, I think some of them just dont understand.
IK- Good luck with your assignments, I have to say even though I dont have time for them ATM I really enjoyed doing assigments at uni, and I am looking forward tog oing back and doing some post grad studies in the near future (just have to decide on a specialisation)
Mel- i love indian too, the last time we went out for indian we found the resturant to be crowded and noisey, but the food definatley made up for it.
I cant believe that Pat and Charlie & Jack will be 1 tomorrow...........omg time is just flying. We will be in June soon and a whole barrage of birthdays.
Julie- I checked my hotmail account and it had been deactivated, try alisonlatter(at)westnet.com.au
I hope everyone is well, and looking after themselves, I will talk to you all again soon!
-
good luck with your scan tomorrow Rory!
I have my next scan on monday! i had my first OB appoint in syd today and he did a scan, couldnt tell what sex bub was but thought possibly a BOY. anyway we hope to find out on monday for sure!
Yay Marley for getting some teeth!
took nixon to get his ear checked out too yesterday and doc said its not red like it was but still fair bit of fluid on it. providing he doesnt get another cold it should clear up. he is snotty now too. im still snotty, dh is the same and MIL has Broncitis.... so chances of him not getting another cold are slim but hoping not.
port hey Julie! cant drink the stuff myself. i think it brings back too many teenage memories of coming home blind and getting stuck into port, never went down too well!
Charlee & jack's first birthday tomorrow! Happy Birthday

Hi girls :)
Nic: Oh another boy! That would be wonderful... I'm biased but having two little boys close in age really appeals to me as I look forward to them growing up mates and playing cricket in the backyard together etc... but then again a little girl would also be nice as I love spending time with Verity and making sure she has an easier time of growing up than I did etc. and dressing them up in cute little dresses is sooo much fun when they are little LOL
ok...got to do the shower thing with Niall.... back again afterwards...
Amanda: I've been meaning to suggest you grab some time for yourself on the weekend by getting up early on either a Saturday or Sunday, getting dressed, warned DH that you were going out for a coffee/breakfast and go! Could you do this?
agh... gotta deal with something...
-
Had my scan - all seems well but we haven't yet got the "official' results on risk of downs/etc. But bub looks fine so far and my dates are set at 12 weeks 3 days - EDD of 2 December!!
Oh and how's this for a laugh! I just applied to get a St George credit card with a 6 months interest free period to move my ANZ balance over. The card was approved and the new limit was $20,000!!! Are those people nuts!!! I was astounded - I couldn't imagine the stress of having such a high amount owing on a card!
-
Julie - how are you coping on your own? I find I get bored with no one to talk to at night but definatley love sleeping in the bed on my own with no one snoring next to me LOL!!! You day out sounded lovely - had to laugh at the "tantrum a minute" comment!!!
Ali - great news that Tori is feeling much better. How about you, has m/s passed?
Nic - oh how exciting, another boy (if they got it right lol!!!). What was your new ob like, hope you liked him/her? Bugger about the colds/snots etc going around your house, Nixon might be lucky and fend it off!
Bath - I love putting cute little dresses on my girls too! But having said that, my GF has a little 6mth old boy and she dresses him so beautifully and I now notice more boys clothes, they are quite cool!
Rory - great news about your scan. I would be scared of what I would do with a $20,000 limit lol!!!
Took Marley swimming today then had my final lunch with my GF before she heads to Japan. We went to Chadstone and had a yummy lunch then a good wander around the shops. They have so many great kids shops. Off to work out what to have for dinner?????
-
Glad your scan went well Rory - that's great. I know that banks will chuck far to much money at people - the just want us to get in huge amounts of debts. We got approved a HUGE mortgage a few months ago - we hadn't asked for remotely that much - for a laugh i asked what the repayments would have been and we would have literally been left with about $100 per fortnight - how can they justify that!!
-
Yeah it is just mad - and here I was worrying we would get knocked back cause I am really slack on paying my Telstra and gas bills on time!!
-
Rory: That's good news about your scan :) I'm sure everything is fine... how did you feel when you saw your little bean for the first time? Oh and I know, $20,000 limit is so wrong for you at this time of your lives... when you are paying off school fees it might be another story though ;) It's very ironic that although my DH is a banker we don't believe in depending on huge ammounts of credit/mortgages. It's a very worrying trend that living with huge debt has become 'normalised' :( Still, I don't agree with bank bashing (although we also do it from the perspective of my DH being an employee!) Bankers are often placed in "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situations. People want credit/loans and generally believe they can meet higher repayment levels than what they really can... if a bank won't give them the money they are also critised... more people than not actually fudge their applications for a loan so they can hardly complain when they get into trouble... these are just my/my DH's observations... not hard fact mind you :)
-
Hi Mel - posted at same time!
Not going too bad on my own. Am eating far too much chocolate and am still in my PJs at gone 2pm which is so slack but as i haven't had to take DH to work and i don't do anything on Wednesdays i haven't got round to getting dressed! I spoke to him last night but he was abit sloshed and kept going on about how one of his back teeth had broken and wasn't he getting old (he's just turned 33 so i don't know what he's talking about - i'm 2 years older than him!). I think by tomorrow i'll be missing adult conversation as yesterday i had my walking group mums to chat to.
Must have been sad having your last lunch with your gf before she goes off to Japan.
-
Julie - I hope you don't get too strung out without adult conversation! Still, at least with kids there's no crap, and when you talk to adults you get agendas, deception, face saving...kids talk can be good!
Rory - the limits that have been offered to me in the past astound me - they've always been offered when I have been a student...and not working full time...
Mel - how was swimming? Gotta love Skype and video conferencing, for keeping in touch with OS friends!
Amanda - is there any way you can do a mini-strike? I know, you'll probably cut your nose off to spite your face, but if it gets to you again...
Took Oscar swimming yesterday and he is loving the Loch Ness Monster thing. He was so wanged out and slept for ages afterwards.
He is with MIL today and will be back in about 45 mins. I felt sorry for myself when he left - I HATE when he leaves without me, it feels so unnatural.
My mum's birthday today and I called her up. We ended up revisiting the whole 'you left me out of the loop for Oscar's birth' crap...she still thinks its about her. She actually (get this) DENIES that there are two sides to the story. She says there is only one story and it's about her not being told that I was in hospital so that she could hang out there until Oscar was born. So, can we safely assume that she's filtered out the bit about me not being in hospital very long before Oscar was born? That no-one else knew we were there except us? That that is how we wanted it? That she didn't answer her mobile when DP tried calling? That she didn't answer the landline when he tried that, so he told my dad instead? ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Anyway, times like this I'm glad she lives 4 hours away.
Better go express some milks and get some study food...
-
Sorry... forgot to say Hiya Julie, Mel and IK... I've been posting a bit in other threads but am not really thinking clearly ATM...dunno why... just feel a bit mushy brained... had a bit on my mind lately, had to prepare for a visit from our landlord today and I was a bit stressed out about that but I think we are finally about to get a new back fence :)
IK: oooooh I know about those kind of conversations... the ones that leave you feeling totally exasperated... I also seem to recall that you had no intention of excluding her... but that she managed to exclude herself for (?) weeks wasn't it? very odd.
Ok... back to muddling around in circles... trying to meet the needs of the squeakiest wheel! Oh no it's almost bath time... Just add water and you get a angry slippery eel 3yo who last night refused to get dressed... legs flailing and all... I actually ended up opening the back door... he ran out.... then I closed it... poor little buggar froze for about 2 minutes... i let him inside... he was then all a sudden very keen to get dressed. What's in store for me tonight?:nana::protest:

Julie - gotta love staying in your pj's till 2pm, good one you. I love those days, esp if it is a horrible day outside. Glad you are coping well with chocolate as your friend LOL!!! I am really sad about my GF leaving. We met at antenatal classes while I was pregnant with Chelsea and we just hit it off. We have remained friends ever since, seeing each other nearly everday when Chelsea and her DD were little and we have both had second babies and are still just as close (she had a boy second time around) if we don't see each other, we ring. It will be strange but I we will still keep in touch all the time, just wont be the same! They will be back in January. Poor Chelsea keeps telling me how sad she will be when her friend goes, I am sure she has no idea how long its for.
IK - swimming is going great, she loves it. Teacher even commented on how much better she is at this age than Chelsea! Maybe not quite the loch ness monster yet LOL!!! Will definately investigate skype, sounds really good. Don't let your mum get to you. Don't even enter the discussion with her as it sounds like you wouldn't win anyway! Hope you had a good productive study day.
Bath - must be the day for it. DH came home early from work with a bad headache, my dad was feeling really washed out today too. Well done on the new back fence, you were saying in another post that you were really wanting one. PML about leaving Wade outside, that would have been hilarious (not for Wade LOL!!!), might have to try that one! We have fights over which pj's to wear to bed and tears if its not the right ones! Look forward to hearing what your adventure was tonight LOL!!!
-
Well both Cody and I have been sick since Sunday adn it got that bad that DH took yesterday off to take us to the doctors and we both have and ear infection and Cody also has a red throat, so we are both on antibiotics.
IK he's been quite good since I've been sick so I'll leave the mini strike for another time, lol.
HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY JACK AND CHARLEE
HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY PATRICK for tomorrow if I'm not on.
hugs xoxo

hello ladies,
just a quick one to say hi.
Rory - so glad you had the scan and it was all good. Yeah! Heres to a happy pregnancy!
Nic - a boy is great... brothers are great friends - esp. as some boys are not as good at sharing their feelings as girls, so it is nice for a boy to have a brother to share things with.
Hello to everyone else.. not much news here, well, I actually think I may be expecting again? But I'm not sure - was not planned, but we DTD on Sun, (thinking I was safe as it was day 7), but today I'm ovulating (day 10).. ****... what do you think? Do you think I'm in the clear? we do want another one, but in a few more months.. not just yet?...I do not normally ovulate till much later (I am on a 33-36 day cycle)... oh well, guess I will have to wait and see.... will keep you all posted...
cheers for now!
luv

Emishka great to see you back, just over a week till Caitlyn is 1, how have you been.
CC oooo, you'll have to keep us posted, you may or may not have conceived, I guess you just have to wait.
Well I feel like absolute *****, I had to walk Lockie to school with this damn flu and sore ear now my chest feels like it's on fire and my back is killing (Cody was in the sling).
Ok will lurk today and post occasionally.
hugs xoxo

Time for a new thread everyone.
