Isabella: My PhotoBucket site is under my username... not where it says "website" near the ticker... that's my son's website. And I found this adorable duckling ticker on your ticker site too! I think the other one I had was too dark... I've never seen this one around before either. Think I need to choose a better marker though... also: Bellybelly are going to have birthday tickers soon as well... they are currently trialling pregnancy ones which you can see around the forum.

Bath - oh yum, soup and fresh bread, what soup did you end up making? It was so foggy here this morning and didn't clear till nearly 10am. Chelsea woke me this morning to tell me is was "smokey" outside! Just looked at the Farmyard linen, its gorgeous, pity its not 70% off too. Also check out DJ's (sale on now) or Myer (sale starts next week) as they may have them slightly cheaper. Not sure who else stock Freckles? Love the new ticker too!

IK - hows the study going? Do you have only assignments or exams too - sorry if you have already mentioned it before. Lamb shanks are the best meal ever! I usually cook them once a week, but have a been a bit slack lately. I've been buying corned beef instead.

Nic - I can totally understand why you are angry, dogs have a place in the home and they shouldn't be able to rule the house! If the dog is old and cranky, it might be best to keep Nixon well clear of him/her. She should take a bit more responsibility for her pets behaviour and not just blow you off with your concerns. Do you have to stay with her for long? Sounds like its driving you crazy!

Isabella - new ticker looks great!

DH took Chelsea to see Shrek the Third. They just got home and she loved it! They went to Pancake Parlour for lunch too and she rang me from there to tell me about her milkshake! We were both going to take her and MIL was going to look after Marley, but Marley is still sick and I didn't feel right leaving her. Oh well at least DH and Chelsea got to spend some time together. Still freezing outside, sun is shining a bit atleast. Hope everyone is having a good day!

Bath – am with you on the sleepless night – Poor Will must have coughed virtually every minute for hours, then woke every ½ hour or so for a pat or his dummy back. I was so tired this morning. I was going to grab a sleep this lunch when they were both aslepp but Will feel asleep in the pram on the way home from playgroup and has just woken so I had all of 20 mins to myself grrr. I’ve been cheeky as hes hungry so ive made him a sandwich and wheeled his hig chair into the office so I can still be on here while he eats. Ill have to check out the tip toey joey shoes as I think the ones Will has are getting abit small. Love the ducks!

Nic – situ at home with MIL and dogs sounds v stressful. Hope you can move out soon.

Mal – Glad Chelsea enjoyed Shrek, sorry Marley is still sick – hope she feels better soon.

Isabella – your new ticker looks great and so nice that you can still use that great photo of your sweeties.

Not sure how long I’m going to get on here now as Will has nearly finished his sandwich – grrrrrrr! I swear he eats more than Oscar – not that that would be that difficult as eating is far too boring for him!

Hi girls, been hibernating... catching up on some sleep, watching DVDs, cooking comfort food. Mel: I made a lentil soup... turned out well ie all the family enjoyed it. Julie: I do that nearly every day (give finger food to Niall that he eats beside me in his highchair while I check out BB) nothing wrong with that! Posted off our recalled Thomas the Tank Engine today... looking forward to receiving the brand new replacement and a complimentary engine. Wade actually posted the package... he knows the deal and is happy about it. Dog lovers: watched this kids' movie called Good Boy today LOL it was better than most of the genre... loved the miniature Italian greyhound... Chelsea might enjoy it if you have it in your local rental shop Mel.

Gotta put Niall to bed then do some more vegging on the couch...

Bath - sounds like you are having a lovely lazy weekend. Soup sounds lovely - i could just go some lentil soup. That's good that you get a replacement and extra engine with your Thomas recall.

Having a nice weekend so far. Went swimming on Saturday and no one else in Will's class turned up so we had a private lesson - he really enjoyed it and even went under twice and didn't mind so that was good. He also crawled across the mat to me twice without crying which was great. Then went home via muzzbuzz so had coffee and cake. Put them down for an early sleep so we could be at a local park for my friend's Junie triplets birthday. It was so lovely i think it was the best kids party we'd been too. The bit of food were great, my friend had done an awesome job of the 'one' cake and had also done individual cup cakes for the kiddies that she's made for the triplet's taste ie one of them likes elmo, one had a car and the little girl had a flower. Her older girl and Oscar and a couple of kids similar ages had an absolute ball and Osc ran around so much he nearlly fell asleep in the car on the way home at 5pm and we only live 5 mins away. Will loved it also as he got to crawl around the toddler bit and onto the play stuff as that bit of the park is designed for toddlers and it's perfect. The kids were on a sugar high but hopefully exercised it all off although they're both a bit sooky today so i don't know if they've got sugar 'hangovers!'. Will's woke up last night at 1.30 for a feed! He often wakes for his dummy but very rarely for a feed. He wasn't crying but stood up in his cot - threw his dummy out and started giggle oh ohhhhh which was so cute i couldn't feel grumpy so gave him a quick feed and put him back down. DH let me have a great big lie in this mornign so i didn't get up till 9.30 and now he's taken Oscar out to fetch doughnuts for coffee and cake this morning while Wills' is asleep so i get peace on here. MMM i think we need to cut down on the sugar over the weekends! Not sure what we'll do today, we were going to drive down to our block to see if they did start it on Thursday but i'm not sure now.
Hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

Julie - lovely Sunday! Hope the sugar hangover wears off soon!! I'm hoping to find a very low sugar cake recipe to make for Oscar's birthday so that he can have his cake and eat it too - he hasn't had much in the way of sugar thus far, and I'd rather hold off for as long as possible. Hope there's some progress on your block!
Bath - might have to look for that DVD. Another great animal movie is Cats and Dogs - hilarious, with breed-specific humour that just killed me.
I'm waiting for my mum to turn up before she drives back to the country. I was hoping she'd come earlier so that I could top up the firewood while Oscar was asleep (in case he woke up) but she didn't arrive so I took my chances a few minutes ago and have enough wood to tide me over till DP gets back from fishing. He's gone with a friend and his brother and nephew. I was going to let him take Oscar (they weren't going in a boat), but they were on the tear last night and DP didn't get home till about 3am...no way was I going to let him have Oscar! He's happy to tell me off for not studying, but he's not listening when I say it's just one more week of taking up my slack with the house and with Oscar and then I'm back on board. Nope, why should he put his socialising on hold just because I've got exams? McFly (tap on head!) - this course is for ALL OF US, it's part of our long-term plan, or I would be happier to concentrate all of my energies on Oscar and maybe even number 2!! Men!
OK, back to study while the kid is asleep and while I wait for my mum to turn up...
ETA: apologies for that pop culture reference, there's a bit of Back to the Future in all of us, isn't there?

    Hi Girls...

HUGE Birthday hugs for the bubbas I have missed, extra hugs your way!

Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes for Kedon, we had a fantastic day!!
When I had Kedon last year, I had an Amniotic Fluid Embolism, which happens 1 in 40,000 births, and usually kills the Mother ..... so it was an emotional day for our family, very bittersweet. Thankfully alot of my friends from Mums Group that I started came over for the day and helped celebrate!! The hospital where I had Kedon had an AFE 12 years ago, and the Mum and Baby both died, so that played in my head alot

For those interested, my photobucket site username is kedon_mum and password is kedon1. Have updated a few pics, a few more to come too

Julie - Sounds like the birthday party was fun! I can't imagine having triplets, my hat goes off to her. Kedon was one of a twin pregnancy, unfortunately the other egg died early on, and I still wonder how I would have managed 2 babies with everything that happened. Speaking of sleeping in, I got to sleep until 11 this morning too.. and got up to a cooked brunch. Wouldn't swap my man for the world!

Baths - Mmmm soup sounds good. I really need to get a good ham and pea recipe, nothing beats soup and fresh bread, you've made me drool hehe

Plonkee - Hope Wills is feeling better, birthday hugs his way with extra healthy vibes.

Mel - Happy Birthday to Marley for Tuesday xoxo

Can I ask a favour (if everyone's happy with it) could someone post the birthday list again, with the state each person lives in? Would be nice having an idea where everyone is for us newbies

Hope everyone has a great weekend

Bath - lentil soup sounds delicious! I hope you had a nice relaxing day yesterday, todays a good day for it too LOL!!! Had a friend over for dinner last night and we had a curry feast. He made a beef curry and I did a veg one with lentils, roasted pumpkin and cauliflower. We had all the trimmings too, nan bread, papadums, chutney and yoghurt. Even made my bread and butter pudding! Will definately look out for that DVD, Chelsea loves any with animals. She was allowed to watch the first half hour of Stuart Little last night.

IK - love Cats n Dogs!! Very funny movie, seem it many times. Lucky you got some wood, looks like you will need heaps today. I can't even see you today, it is so misty outside and bloody freezing. Good day to be studying, esp if beside the open fire!

Julie - sounds like you had a great day and nothing wrong with a good sugar hit now and then! I can imagine planning a party for triplets would take quite a bit of work. Hope they started on your block too.

Bron - what a beautiful boy you have. Was very sad seeing him with all those tubes (and you too!), but he looks so healthy now. It must have been a very traumatic time for you and your family. Love the way you have displayed the photos in the card format, do you do that yourself? Looks great.

Made Marleys birthday present last night (well part of it). I decided to make something special for her, rather than just buy. I did 3 canvases, one with spots, one with stripes and one with squares in pale pink and green. They turned out great, I am so happy with them. DH is going to hang them for me later once Marley wakes up. I will try to get my camera to work and put them on my photobucket site. Will have to make her cake tomorrow too, but I am little nervous how it will taste. It uses Nuttlex butter, which smells awful! Will have to wait and see. Went out for b'fast with some GF's today to Warrandyte and it was freezing. Got there at 9am but my poor friend who's b'day it was was feeling a bit sick. We had b'fast (mine was yum!) and about 30 mins later, she had to leave the cafe and go outside to throw up! Poor thing, she felt dreadful. The funny thing was she had a voucher to buy one breakfast, get one free. She got hers for free!!!! We left the cafe and she felt better on the way home but kept apologising. We have decided to go again on another weekend. Have been cleaning up the kids rooms and doing a general tidy up. Time to keep moving!!! Hope everyone is having a great day.

Hi Girls, Happy birthday kisses to our latest birthday bubs.
One more assignment and I can kick back for a few weeks, Yipppeeee. How are you going with it all IK??
I can't wait to have a little break I feel as though I have done nothing but read and type for the past 6 months. My brain hurts and needs a rest. My kids are screaming to have their mummy back. I haven't planned anything for Nathans Birthday as yet and I think we might actually do it next week when I get this nasty huge yuck maths research assignment done. He won't care and I'd rather do it properly for him then slap stick. I really just need to get uni out of the way.
I see we have a few new people joining us, hi girls and welcome to Junies 2006.
Bronwyn, Hi, if ou look at the top right corner of each post it has our join date and our location straight under it, you can add your location to yours by visiting your user profile up the top of the page in the index. We got our computer back on Friday arvo, they couldn't save our pics, so I lost Cody's first birthday all because the camera's stupid f**king memory card only works sometimes and I couldn't get it to work so I've lost all of them except the one of the cake on my photobucket. Wyatt and Cody had a vomiting bug bad on Friday and Cody still hasn't kept any solids down, he's keeping breast milk down, I'm just a bit worried about the solids. He's also still sooky and just wants me, which is good and bad, makes it hard to do things like go to the loo.

Julie and Bron can you send me your email addresses if you like so that I can add you to our Junie list.

Dee it would be good to do a catch up again.

    Hi everyone else.

Yay for passing 1500 posts IK.

    hugs xoxo

    Home of the Winery Walkabout!
    944

    Well, I'm here!
Pat has been really sooky over the past couple of days and I have lurked but as I go to post he has started throwing himself backward in a tantrum so the computer goes off!
Not sure if I told you ladies but we have finally got a house! 4BR and its only 500m from town,500m from my mums and 200m from the school! We now live in Rutherglen so if anyone is near the area feel free to drop in.
We moved in a couple of weeks ago but haven't really have had time to let you all know!
Mum and Dad are heading up to Queensland in 2 weeks so its very busy here trying to get things together for them and as School Hols are coming up, mum won't be around to look after the kids like she usually does! I'm in the midst of organizing school hol activities and heading up to the snow seems really popular!
Still b/f Pat but have decided to try and wean him now as he is only using me as a dummy....any ideas?
better go and put Bella to bed as the others went to bed half an hour ago!
Hello to all the newbies we have, quick intro!
Name is Jess and I'm a seasoned mum of 6! Jack is 11,Kate is 8, Tim is 6, Elizabeth is 4, Isabella is 2 and baby Patrick is 1. Patrick was due in June but as with a couple of other junies(Racs,Nic and Misskel) decided to come early at 35+5 weeks! He is a little devil, who has decided that walking is far too hard and crawling is a lot of fun!
    Bye for now
Love to all the junie babies who are or have experienced their very important first birthdays!

Fantastic Jess!!! How long has this house been coming to you guys? Only since we started together here as Preggy buddies! And so awesome that you are so close to your mum, even if she'll be gone over the school holidays. I also admire your preparation (although it would be fraught with danger if you didn't prepare) for the holidays - it seems like such a long way off with Oscar, but I guess the time will come when I will have to organise activities for him when he's not at school...maybe ship him off to my parents in the country (I'm sure he'd hate the sea air...not!). By mentioning that in your post, you have flagged a mental note to myself for a few years ahead...!
Really, I am stoked that you have a house for you and the kids - I hope one day they realise what a great mummy you've been to them, but I'm sure they will - you're raising them so well (and I don't just mean in the 'considering you have 6, have had trouble with rental accomodation, the dropkick partners you've had etc', I mean, you are raising them well by any standard and I am always touched by how you speak of them and how driven you are for them. Geez, that sounds really soppy, but with all the stuff I'm reading for my course, and all the non-parenting that is going on out there in the world, great parenting seems to stick out like a sore thumb, doesn't it? And I'm a bit sentimental, anyway
Amanda - how thoroughly annoying about your computer! For what it's worth, you may not have the photos, but there's a lot to be said for etching those kinds of memories into your brain, into the photo album of your heart. Some of my favourite moments can't be found on my computer or in a negative
Sorry, that's all that stuck out for me just now, and now that Oscar is asleep I have to get back to study (and eating some sago pudding)...
Have a great week all - 3 birthdays next week!

appologies i couldnt get on here yesterday was out all day. we went and looked at a house yesterday (cannot get serious about it though until our house sells) then dropped into SIL breifly to see bub again then had to follow DH to his work so he could drop his car off and then take him to the airport. He flew to LA yesterday, spends 4 days there and then 4 days in Miami for a work confrence. His sister works for Qantas 9although on maternity leave) and got him upgraded to business class so he was pretty happy bout that! anyway getting Nixon in and out of the car in pouring rain, howling wind was a lovely task!
Then went to my sisters for a bit, left Nix there and his uncle (my BIL) minded him and his 2 girls while i went and did a tupperware party!
by the time we got home it was 7.30pm and straight to bed for Nix.

Pretty certain Nixon haS "hand and foot in mouth" atm.
i had my suspicion it was that but rang nurses on call tonight and he has most of the symptoms
    fever
pink spots over hands/ feet/ genitals/ legs but not on torso
some spots are more like blisters but not pusey
    slight cough
    turned off his food somewhat
he does not yet have any ulcers in his mouth but may still get them.

apparently its contagious and we think my 2 neices also have it (the elder one may have had it first and gave it to Nixon and Alyssa) they are contagious for 3-6days and not much u can give them other then panadol for the temp and bonjela for a sore mouth.
He seems pretty well in himself though most of the time. and once they get it they cannot get it again. Apparently 95% of us have had it at one time during out lives, we may have had it so midley and not even known it. I think the name of it sounds a lot worse then what it actually is.

Today i left the house just after lunch and been at my parents all arvo, staying the night, will go back to MIL tomorrow arvo and prob stay at mums again tues night as she minds Nix wed's. Figure the more i can get out of the house the better.

OK dog situation: that is a good idea IK about videoing but i dont know how i'd approach it as MIL would always be right there, cause her dogs are wherever she is so to get footage of Nixon with the dogs she will be 2 feet away.
Thismorning she gives both dogs a dog treat INFRONT OF NIXON to eat on the lounge room floow on the mat. Ofcourse Nixon wants it and i was in the other room i hear her saying "no thats the puppys biscuts" in a very blazae manner. So i went and got him and removed him from the situation.
Your right Ik i am a dog lover so its not like a have a vendetter (sp) out against these dogs but common..... if everyone else i have spokend to thinks its an issue whats wrong with her?

Jess- so happy for you guys getting a house! LOL at your seasonal mum comment. Anyway it must feel great being in a house again after so long in the van and at your aunties.

ETA: Bronwyn i just added everyones State to the list for you, hope i got them right!
