Just finished reading the other thread, wow, can't believe some of the teeth coming through. Maya has nothing at all showing through yet, thats alright with me!
I see all the sleeping patterns are changing with everyone. Maya has her 8hr sleep at night then after her first bottle she is off again for another 3 hours then its about 2-3 short 45min naps during the day.She gets really cranky if I miss her 2.30pm sleep, if we are out shopping or visiting she fights to fall asleep then has a cry (big, loud cry), I cradle her for a little bit then put her down again and shes off to sleep. Thank goodness she calms when I hold her
Finally she can roll both ways so I'm not forever saving her when she is sick of being on her belly. She is lifting herself up with her arms really high and the lifts her bum up and starts to rock, so I gather she isnt far from crawling????
Anyway I better go off to bed, felt like having a few glasses of wine for a change and just realised how late it is!!
Wow Chantal Maya is doing really well, Charly has drama just being on her tummy and I am not going into her sleep at the moment (very frustrating).
Shez was not sure what the process was called but I am so glad it worked on the third attempt. I was starting to get very frustrated as it was all my problem, which doesn't help.
Charly is blowing raspberry must of the time, at least I know she is happy LOL. Gave her some apple last night not sure if she likes it had visitors at the time so she was more interest in them. But she gives me a scare kept looking like she was choking on it but realised it was her gag reflex still scary wasn't sure what to do.
Yesterday Charly was rolling over every time I put her down, I couldn't beleive it. She as been able to roll over for a while but just couldn't be bothered.
She is coming up to her six month needles, and I have been questioning whether she should have then so early. I diffently will get them done just thinking about waiting till she is bigger. DH is has no problem with it as he wasn't vaccinated (had a bad reaction to first lot). She has had her first two lots really hard decision. I would feel better waiting till she as able to cope better. Just feel like her progress stopped after the 4 month needles and she is now picking up again.
Hope every one doing well out there Charly has a little cough.
Hope Charly's cough is alright. Fantastic about the rolling, if she is like Maya you will put her down then find she has done the old 'rolly polly' trick right off the mat. I find Maya against the couch or coffee table.........
About the needles, I feel you should get them done when YOU feel it is right. I have Maya's booked for the 15th June and I feel she just got her last lot! Glad there is a 6 mth break till the next lot!
Maya is sitting up now and playing with her toys upright!! (Pillows and cushions surronding her though, for the odd tip over) She was playing with her interactive toy (whatever it is ) for about 40 minutes last night. So cute to see her sitting upright and twirling things with her hands and opening stuff etc......we were very proud parents!!! LOL
And she has become VERY vocal!! In the supermarket or at our parents group she is making noises constantly!
yeah for the rollers and sitters!!! I can't wait for issy to be more mobile althouigh i'm sure once she is I'll regret saying that!!! I took Issy to the dr yesterday as i am concerned she's lost weight. She has lost 150g in a month so I am worried. Dr said to try and feed her 6 times a day and seeing as she doesn't take a bottle or a cup i can't supplement with formula!! I feel like my milk is running out. I know that is a catch phrase for most neurotic Mums but I don't know what to do!! Any suggestions?
Shez I felt that way when Charly was around 4 months, have you tip the Tommee Tippee bottles there the only onces Charly will drink from. But I was lucky Charly wasn't losing weight, think she was just drink so quickly.
I also make sure I take a couple of glasses of Activital (hope that spelt right, in supermarket next to Milo) a day, its a chocolate drink like Milo. I notice a difference the next day if I miss a glass. I would start with 3 to 4 glasses a day, there is a milkshake recipe on BB in the breastfeeding section for Activital, they may have some other tips to.
I also heard if you express even for five minutes with nothing is coming out it will help your body produce milk, as it is like a trigger.
I would keep persisting with the bottle it took Charly a while, and I have heard since that you should use the same bottle until they take it as just a matter of them getting use to it.
May be try her with some farex, I asked my doctor when I thought I was low it the afternoons and got the ok. Charly preferred mixed with BM, I only gave it to her when I was low once a day. Maybe Issy would like to start on solids, a few mothers in my Mother group start there child at 5 months.
thanx Charly's mum. i have already started her on solids but have held off the past couple of days trying to put milk first. I finally got her to take a bottle yesterday afternoon when i got home from work. It was straight out the steriliser and a little hotter than I would usually try and she gussled 150mls. She has since had 2 more bottles today both times after a bf. my milk is obviously deminished cause she has taken 110mls then 160mls. I will continue to comp feed at the moment but if ff is going to be best for her growth then i will have to go with it. I was ff from 11 weeks and i turned out ok.
Thanx for the support
Hiya all.
Chantal, IKWYM about the chatter - isn't it just the most fantastic noise? Natty's got a really husky voice sometimes and I want to record it to listen to when she's older and it changes again. That's exciting that she's sitting up!
Shez, how worrying for you that Issy is losing weight. If you do want to keep breastfeeding you could always talk to an LC or an ABA councilor? Glad you could get Issy to take the bottle. I'm sure that'll make life much easier for you.
There's a couple of mums at my mothers group who are comp feeding and one little boy just looooves the formula, LOL. He has a breastfeed first and then when his mum gets the bottle out, he kicks his legs excitedly and reaches for it! Reminds me that things will be easy when they can tell you what they want.
Happy six-month birthday to Charly! All the best for the needles... Hopw she copes better this time, Charly's mum.
Shez glad Izzy is taking the bottle, I have a few freinds that are doing both BF & FF. Charly likes hers a little warmer then they say, wish I thought of that earlier.
I cannot believe it has been six months, we have decided to put off her needles for at least a year. I have seen a few programs lately about the needles at such an early age, just feel something out there is trying to tell me something. Charly is be more active and don't want to jepordise that. She will be going to Grandma when I go back to work so no need to go to day care.
Charly rolled from tummy to back yesterday, going to have to watch her now. Did a quick weight fully clothed the other day Charly was 7.9kg.
She seems to be going back to her good sleeps at night . maybe the neurofen for her cold is helping her sleep. I've had a sore throat the last few days so I am thinking she had one and thats why she was waking and wanting to feed.
You've just reminded me Charlysmum, I really need to weigh Maya, she feels a bit heavier than her 6.6kg 3 weeks ago. If I decide to carry her on my hip to pop into a shop I start to regret it after 5 minutes.... think I need one of those little pushers, can't be bothered getting the pram out every time.
Well last night Maya did her first movement forward, not really a crawl, more a frog hop Now she has worked that movement out she is constantly crawling or frog hopping out of her activity mat so I gave the carpets a real good vacuum.
The good side to it all is that she wears herself out constantly and has some nice long naps, today has been quite good, shes napping again so I'm going to get tea ready!
I'm going to miss the days I could put her down and know she would still be in that spot when I got back in the room..................
Chon I know what you mean on all counts, diffently need a pusher. Cannot wait till Charly starts being more active so she can have some naps during the day... drawback where is she now. LOL
comgrats again Lindsay!!
Well Issy is pretty much a ff bub now. I have next to no milk left and she is a much happier (and heavier!!) baby. One plus is now I can have the frozen embryo transfered sooner!!
Happy six months to those who are there or close. Issy is having her 6 onth needles bang on 6 months too.
Happy sitting rolling crawling eating bubs and Mums!!! mwah
PC - wow to what laila is eating! she is thriving, thats great. I finally found a solid food that Maya likes, any food with sweetcorn in it. I wanted to make her food myself, but she isn't interested, so Heinz to the rescue. She ate almost 1/2 a jar of the pumpkin and sweetcorn in one go! so I'm going to feed her twice a day now.
shezabelle, goodluck with your next bubby, how exciting!! Start picturing yourself pregnant now, get those vibes happening!! and keep us up to date.
Well maya and I went and saw Pirates of the Carribean 3 yesterday at the hoyts mums and bubs session. She was really good till near the end when she got hungry, I didn't expect to be in there for 3 hours! but thankfully she fell asleep without being too bad....phew, didn't want to miss the end!
Congrats Lindsay!
happy 6 months to everyone's bubs, Noah's 6 months today.
He'll be getting his needles in a few weeks as he has a cold at the moment.
Has anyone been for their 6 month check up?
Noah's is on Tuesday and I think he has to weigh at least 10kg by now and probably around 76-78cm! He's a bloody giant!
He seems to be getting teeth at the moment, lots of dribbling and sooking, I can see a little white bud on his gun and the poos! Argh the poos!
So glad Issy's gaining weight again Shez! That must be such a relief!
OH and is anyone elses bub obsessed with other babies? Noah squeals and kicks his legs and giggles at any other baby he sees (even a photo of a baby is good enough for him!)
Oo, happy 6 months to Noah!
Yes, Natalie loves babies. She looooves the mirror, and this afternoon I was reading the Coles Baby magazine and she was smiling and cooing at the baby on the cover. At the shops today she was very interested in a baby we met in the parents' room.
Maya was intrigued by a baby that was crying in the cinema on Thursday, she was sitting on my lap with her back dead straight and staring in the direction of the baby crying then as soon as it stopped she relaxed. she also kept arching backwards to see the baby behind us.
Maya's first tooth has come through, bottom left, COMPLETE surprise to me!! She hasn't really shown any signs of teething at all! All I noticed was her doing a chewing action this morning and her finger constantly on her bottom gum so I had a look........
