Hiya Amanda :) Oooh apricot chicken sounds wonderful! Just popped a frozen vegetarian pizza with mussles added ontop (the kids love 'em) in the oven... because I'm not long home from our meetup! Walked in the door at 6pm precisely after smooth and peaceful train journeys... Niall's eyes closed in Mel's driveway as we were leaving and opened up 1 station before ours! Wade slept most of the first train trip on Verity's lap... good girl :) Now I'm feeding Niall his dinner and eagerly awaiting DH's arrival home after a triumphant end-of-financial-year (he's a banker, for the new girls). He wrote %150 of budget and is a very happy man knowing that his bonus is going to be very juicy! So proud of him. Gonna watch some footy together on the couch together and have a vege-ful weekend :)
And how good was our meetup girls?! :) Thankyou so much Mel for hosting us and our rampant children! I wish I could have eaten more of the scrummy lunch but it was more a case of shove in a mouthful then lunge for the wayward child! At least the cubby house is tidy Mel! I felt so bad leaving you with so much to tidy away... but I'll host the next one and also insist on tidying up afterwards! LOL I still cant get over much Marley has grown! Of all the June bubs I reckon she's had the greatest growth spurt. Looking forward to the piccys! can't believe i forgot my camera! D'oh!
Oh and Amanda, I totally understand where you are coming from... my parents divorced when I was 12 and find it really hard to trust DH (when we are fighting) that he will hang around and put up with me. It's good that you both made up so quickly though :)
ok... pizza ready... better feed the kids!

Yayyyyy we got paid today since the first is a Sunday, Yeeehaaaa, I felt very rich until I paid the bills and bought groceries. Now we have to play the catch up game with all our bills.
Nathan has been taking a few more sequences of steps today, not long now...
I'm taking a lighter load for Uni next semester so I will actually finish in 2008 instead of this year. I was doing really well but then with Michael going overseas I guess I got a little depressed and very teary and I did not do very well on my last two assignments, I was full of self sabotage anyway I will probably fail two of my subjects and even if I do pass I will still only do a half load. It will give me more mummy time and I can devote more time to two subjects instead of four. I won't do prac then until next year so that will solve my day care dilemma. I don't know why I'm always in such a hurry to finish things,I'd probably do better if I took my time, lol.
Bath glad you had a great time at the meet up, Pizza sounds yummo, so does apricot chicken aManda. The clothes were not dry Bath, didn't really matter I suppose, they had other stuff to wear.

Hi all,
7th if you need a quick fix or your dryer and it is only the fan belt you can use a pair of stockings and just cut of a leg and tie it around where the fan belt use to be it make a bit more nosie due to the knot but it will dry the load just dont leave it on when you go out in case somthing happens.
Kai will no longer eat her ice cube veges so now she eat with us at the table at 6 she was eating at 5 but over a cupple of weeks we manged to move or eatting time, as you dont want to be making dinner twice as once you start its hard to stop, I know a lady in my playgroup who has 4 kids 5 to 13 and she still makes there dinner at 6 then herself and DH later at 7 and at the moment she is on jenny craig so they are having different food now that seems to me like to much truble.
Amanda thank for the advice we will be going down the next week to look at land so hope we will find somthing living in cairns we know all about midges and will look out for them, as Kai swells up really bad and then scar's so do want that for her.
Where are the melbourne girls from as I grew up there and my sis still all live there would love to know as we go down every christmas for about a mth so could maybe catch up.
well better go as i am taking the kid down for a bike ride today then a play at the park hope it makes them tied so that they might have a sleep

HEy ladies
i have been lurking for a while, you ladies chat so much! My names kat, im mummy to annika matisse born 9/6/06. she's such a cheeky little monkey! but so easy going, it makes me want more lol. But not yet.
I live in Perth (SOR) and have been here all my life! Why live anywhere else when its perfect here!
Anyway, enough of my rabbiting, i hope to get to knowyou all a little better!!
Kat
-
Amanda - its good that you have been able to find the reasons for things happening. I hope this helps your relationship grow stronger.
7th - yay on being financial again! Sounds like a good idea to take a half load for next semester, I am sure you will do much better in those subjects being able to spend a bit more time on them. I'm sure the family will be happy too.
Bath - I am so glad you enjoyed yourself. Verity was such an angel for cleaning the cubby, it was pretty messy. Pls thank her again for me. There wasn't that much to clean up, everything piled in the dishwasher! Plus, Verity cleaning the cubby more than made up for it lol! Rory stayed till 5pm so she kept me company, her poor DH spent 1.5 hours in the car to come and get her. Glad to the kids slept, poor Niall must have been pooped, none of them had much of an afternoon sleep. Chelsea had so much fun playing with Wade and Verity (esp Verity), she told me Verity "was a big girl and she was lots of fun mum"! I'm glad you think Marley has grown, she always seem so little to me. Hope you enjoy your vegeful weekend.
Tali - I live in Sth Eastern suburbs, near Wantirna. What area did you grow up in? Enjoy your day down the park, sounds like fun.
Kat - welcome to the Junies and yes, we do chat lots sometimes. Annika is such a pretty name, where does it come from?
Went out for a lovely dinner with friends last night (no kids!) to the Brighton Sea Baths and it was sensational! Will definately go there again. I think Marley is getting or has got another ear infection. She has been pulling at her ears alot, I can't believe Chelsea has never had one and Marley has had 2 in 2 months! Might take her to dr next week. She isn't too bad though, just a bit miserable every now and then. Its my dads 60th birthday tomorrow so we are off to my brothers for a small party tonight. I got the job of making the birthday cake and after alot of browsing through all my cook books and mags I found a Donna Hay recipe (always end up going back to Donna!) for a layered raspberry sponge cake. I have made my sponges, they look pretty good and just have to make the rasp mix and whip the cream to go between them. Hope it tastes good! Chelsea is having her first real sleep over tonight with my niece. She is very excited about it, hope she doesn't have second thoughts tonight lol!
Hope everyone is having a fun weekend!:)
-
Mel - Annika is scandinavian, means "sweet-faced." When i saw my little princess i just knew it was the perfect name for her! The rasberry sponge sounds amazing. I like to think im a great cook, when its just me and my partner i can make masterpieces, but when im trying to impress someone, like a work collegue of Milo's or something i always manage to screw everything up! Send me a piece lol!! hope chelsea enjoys her sleep over, she seems like a very grown up and well adjusted 4 year old! and i love the name Marley :) Marley and Freya were 2 of my girls names :) but i heard annika about 1 week before i went into labour...
Anyways! Just a quiet weekend here, Annika is on her second nap of the day... im so lucky, she still has 3 naps a day! gets up about 7, down by 9.30, down again about 1 and again about 4! Then sleep thru the night... Wonder what i did in a past life to get such a placid baby! Shoudl be doing housework, but im so tired i dont know if i can be bothered! I need to mop my floors but its cold and wet, so i cant! Damn lol. my partner Milo is at work, so its just me! The house is too quiet. Think i need to put some music on or something! might lurk around this wonderful site for a while...
-
Hi Kat! Welcome :) Phew, at last there's another one of us who isn't married, but happily co-habiting! I was starting to feel like an anarchist...
Tali - I'm near Mel, but further up a hill!
Thanks for a wonderful afternoon at your place, Mel! I'm still tasting the crepe creation with all that cream and passionfruit!
Amanda - I hope you can be kind to yourself
Oscar is upset over something...must deal with it...BBL
-
Hey ik! Yeah, happily unmarried here, if i went along with Milo we would be married a long time ago (been together since i was 18 and him 24) but i dont see the point! i get half of it all now anyway LOL!! Ill think about it one day, just not in a hurry now... Seems we have a lot in common IK i had a waterbirth. I loved it... sitting in my own lounge, familiar surroundings bringing my baby into the world... wouldn't have in any other way! If i decide to have another, im not going to change a thing!
Its still quiet here! im thinking about cranking up some music and singign really loudly to wake Annika up... I want to play!
-
Welcome Kat, this is a great group of girls, hope you enjoy our chatter, looking forward to chatting to you more.
Mel hope you enjoy your days 60th birthday party tonight, the cake sounds so delish.
IK how is Oscar? is he alright.
hugs xoxo
-
All is well for now...Oscar has a runny nose and came to me all whingey and clingy, but I've dealt with him for now - shovelled some soup down his gullet and he is happy playing with DP and his toys.
It was Dad's day at swimming today and DP ended up having a great time, despite himself. It was our teacher's last day forever! She's leaving us and we'll have the school owner with a trainee next term. We were naughty and had Chinese for lunch on the way home.
I sold my printer this morning (a dot matrix I was telling the Melb girls about), but I didn't end up getting the whole amount...yet. I'm going to find a piece my dad says he has in his basement and either send it to him or drop in when I visit my cousin, who lives near his work. I know. This is not the done thing for eBay. I could have stood my ground and explained the eBay rules to the guy because this was his first ever eBay transaction. I was caught on the hop, though, because he came in and inspected the printer. I could have told him that he has BOUGHT it and he owes me the full bid amount. I could have insisted that there was no COD and that he do a direct transfer of money before pick up. But because I trust that he won't want to sully his good name (he is an ENT surgeon, as I subsequently found out), I think I should just trust him and hope like hell that my dad was right and that this other piece IS, in fact, in his bloody basement. Yep, I'm an idiot for bending the rules. I did NOT advertise the printer with this additional piece, I advertised it accurately and that's what he bid for and won. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt because it's his first ever eBay transaction. And when I finalise the deal, I will email him and let him know that he will not be able to do this with anyone else and that I'm letting him know in order for him to avoid grief with someone who won't be as bendy as I was! I hadn't been awake long, Oscar was being a bit clingy and he didn't email me back to confirm that it was ok with me to collect today (he emailed to suggest today, and I emailed to say Sat next week was fine, but after not hearing from him, realised he meant TODAY...and he didn't email me back!). So, I was flustered. That's the only way he could have got away with the 'deal' we struck. I am pretty mad at myself, as you may have noticed. If he doesn't uphold his end of the bargain, though, his one and only feedback will be a big fat negative and his eBay career will be marred by it!
Kat - homebirth is my goal for the next baby! We have a birth centre literally 5 mins drive from here, and it's a really good one, so I compromised with DP to have it there, using their bath. They were brilliant, even so, I want the next one here at home, where Oscar will be on his own turf and easily distracted if he becomes antsy. DP is now on my wavelength about it, too, after seeing how well we did it the first time. He has faith in my body, too, now :)
I wonder when my boobs will respond to Oscar's shorter feeds? He tends to pull off and leave me shooting milk everywhere...but my boobs haven't got the message! The only time he stays on till I'm drained is when he's sleepy or asleep! Can't complain too much, though - my boobs are way smaller than they have been for 3 years.
Ok, lazy Saturday (not really, I've done washing and folding and put rubbish out...when do I get to read for fun??), feeling sleepy now...
-
Hi All,
Kat- hi and welcome tot he group! love your DD name.
its funny i was going to bring up the Q on how many day time sleeps everyone's bub is having and it was also brought up in April buddies. So how many sleeps are ur bubs still having during the day? Nixon seems to be cutting down a sleep and the last 3 days has only wanted one day time sleep.
He gives us kisses now it is so cute. he leans forward and kisses your cheek or forehead with an open mouth! He is starting to take a few more steps when DH and i stand a few mtrs apart and encourage him to walk to us. We got it on video which im happy about!
Glad the Melb girls had a great meet up, bit dissapointed i couldnt be there also! Since moving up here i havent found (or looked for that matter) a play group, swimming group etc. However this Thursday im going to a play centre with my sister and a few of her friends. All had now got 2 children so will be lots of fun.
we are also going to the Wiggles on Tuesday! looking forward to Nixon's reaction seeings he is so mesmarized with them on the tele.
anyway going to see my new nephew this arvo. All the illness we've had has kept us away for a few weeks so im looking forward to seeing him again he already 3 weeks old!
-
Kat - we have good taste in names lol! Freya is so pretty too. I love cooking too and have had my share of stuff ups! The cake was pretty good and everyone enjoyed it. Chelsea is a crack up, its like she is a 20 yo but in a 4 yo body!!! She loved her sleep over.
IK - I ended up eating the rest of the crepe creation yesterday, it was delicious. Would love to try it with rasp or other berries. You were very kind to the virgin ebay man! Hopefully he will repay the favour. Some people have no idea how ebay works and he was lucky you were so nice to him. I'm sure being a professional, we won't screw you around (or you'll know where to find him!). Glad to hear DP is enjoying swimming, might have to get him to do it more often.
Amanda - how has your weekend been?
Nic - gotta love the open mouth, sloberry kisses, they are so cute! Can you upload the video to your site, would love to see him walking. Wiggles will be so cool, I am sure Nixon will be mesmorized! Sounds like you are all feeling better and you must be looking forward to meeting your nephew.
Sleeps - Marley still has 2 sleeps a day. Her routine is usually up at 8-8.30, back to bed 10.30am, up at 12.30, back down at 2.30, up at 4.30, then back at 6.30-7. Her sleep time does vary and she may only have 1.5 hours instead of 2. She is a very good night sleeper and doesn't wake during the night (thank god!). Both girls have been good sleepers, must be a girl thing lol!
Dads party was lots of fun last night. Cake was good but I prob should have put it together just before serving. Babies were very good and went down early. Chelsea and her cousin ran around playing all night and got into bed and zonked it! I don't think she realised that we had gone. She had a good sleepover and my SIL took them to McDonalds for lunch so she was very happy! DH and I had a nice sleep in this morning thanks to Miss Marley having a sleep in too! I even got to read the paper in bed while DH gave her b'fast. Went back to pick Chelsea up and stayed for a few hours chatting with my SIL. When it was time to go the tears flowed, Chelsea didn't want to leave, had to bribe her to get in the car. She fell asleep 5 minutes after we left. Thankfully she went to bed early tonight as she was in a bit of a cranky mood!
Hope everyone had a good weekend. :)

Hi girls,
Kat Welcome to BB. I used to look after a girl named Annika and my best friends daughter is mattisse. Hmmm lovely names.
Well we had a lovely weekend the kids and I went to DH's cousins place yesterday, it was great. Nate didn't touch the floor, then again he never does when we go over there. It's always such a great stress relief to go over there as her older kids keep mine entertained.
I watched "Strager than fiction" and the "Pursuit of happyness" today, I thought they were really great movies. Michael called he said it is always cold and wet, it rains constantly but he says that he really likes it. Three down, five to go.
-
Hiya girls - personals first :)
Welcome Kat, to our little Junies group - and Tali - I don't think I got to say hello properly before.
7th I am sorry uni is being so rough on you. DH has been studying for ages (masters for past 3 years and 2 uni degrees totalling 7 yrs full time study before that) so I know what a toll it takes on your life. Gosh, I though I had it hard doing 5 yrs, but that was pre-kids - I really take my hat off to you.
Mel, IK and Bath - had a great time on Friday ;)
Nickers Nixon sounds so cute with the kissing! I am sure he will love the Wiggles
Amanda I can so relate to the self-fulfilling prophecy stuff - sometimes you figure "I'm gonna get hurt anyway, so lets get it over with" and engage in all sorts of negative behaviour. Here's hoping you see through the fog long enough to remember and recapture the reason you fell in love in the first place - it is hard but you will find it there. With all this global warming going on, we gotta let our iceage hearts melt along with the icecaps
After our meetup on Friday DH and I visited out mate in Knoxfield and stayed the night - poor Flynn was overtired, having had no sleep at Mel's with all the excitement, but he did well to sleep in a strange house, even though he peed through his clothes overnight!. But we had a good night and on Saturday met up with a GF to visit the Australian Impressionists exhibition at Fed Square then had lunch in the city, and on Saturday night headed to our mates in Hurstbridge for a pork roast. We stayed over but once again Flynnie peed through his clothes, and then in the morning spewed up his brekky so he spent the day in a borrowed lilac polar fleece jacket. He made such an ugly girl!! Even the little flower on the hood of the jacket didn't help him LOL!!
After 2 nights on the town he was a bit hard to get to sleep last night but we won out in the end.
Better go - gotta start work :)
-
Hi all,
Welcome kat.
Day sleep whats that!! No only kidding Kai wil only have one day sleep if we are lucky as she is trying hard not to have any which i really hard on me as she will then want to crash about 4 and wake at 6 and then not sleep until 9.30, which as i do most of this on my own gets really hard as i need some time of my own, so now about 12 I have to find her dummy and tap her to sleep and hope she wakes before school pick up. Like I always say lucky they are so cute.
Well the bike ride went really well I tried to take of one training wheel of Mayleaka's bike but she refused to ride saying that she " just cant do it" so I have told her when DH gets back she will have to learn then, as she wants to join her big brother at BMX next year she has to get of the trainers.
Kai still isn't walking but loves to hold her big sister and brothers hand and tell them where to go ( she has a very loud voice for a small person) but she has a huge tandy ( which she does all the time ) when they stop. she is the first baby of mine to start with tandys this early does anyone else have one yet?
Melbourne girls I grew up in a small town call Ferny Creek went to primary school there and then went to Mater Christy in Belgrave so I know where you are. My sib still live around there two live in kilsyth one live in Ringwood one lives Armadale One live in Rochester and one now lives in londen but my mum and dad have just moved down to inverlock which is great when we vist as the kid spend all the warm days at the beach.
hope those of you just starting school hoils have fun

Well this weekend was a vege fest, we watched Norbit, Music and Lyrics, Groomsmen and George and the Dragon, they were all great movies and it was nice not to do to much. Today we're going to the park for a BBQ with friends and the boys will have friends to play with while I chat it should be great.
Tali what day did you say that you were going to Hervey Bay? hope that you all have a great trip and a nice time there, hopefully the weather will be nice.
Rory thanks you made me smile, it's so true tho.
Dee Pursuit of Happines is a great film isn't it.
Bath thanks for your encouraging words as well.
Mel Glad the party went well.
Hi IK and anyone else I missed but got to get ready and that takes a while with these boys running around. Hope everyone has a great day.
hugs xoxo

Good morning girls :) Niall's just gone down for his morning nap... Verity is entertaining Wade making a 'kitchen' out of old boxes. School holidays usually work pretty well around here. Although Verity often wants to return to school toward the end and gets a bit tetchy as a result. She doesn't know it yet but I'm thinking of taking them to Melbourne's Winter Wonderland at Docklands where they can play in 'snow' and Verity might even get a chance to try some ice skating.
Welcome Kat :) Hope you enjoy our thread and BB. DH and i haven't been through a wedding ceremony yet either but we've been together nearly 14 years and find it's easier to just refer to each other as husband and wife... because we have such a huge gap between our DD and sons we just got sick of people assuming that she was from a previous relationship and that DH was her stepfather. DH and i intend on getting married some day soon, but our financial priorities will have to change radically before that happens... at the moment paying school fees is way and above paying for a wedding. What will most likely happen is that DH and I will just get offically married at the registery office and have a proper ceremony and honeymoon after the kids have left home! We're thinking of moving overseas for DH's work and apparently being married will become a bit more necessary especially if we plan on moving to Dubai. There have been jobs in Ireland too and apparently only married couples can book into a hotel there too etc... I could be wrong about that though...
Amanda: sounds like a great weekend! We had a similar deal. I only left the house once: to prune the back yard roses and clean the guttering! The front rose hedge still needs it's proper winter pruning... that will have to wait for a while though.... going away next weekend to Castlemaine.
better put the kettle on while I can...
-
Anything else, Bath? Kat, Bath is our dark horse ;) So, I'm NOT the only one who has an 'informal' relationship with DP! When you said you hadn't 'formalised things' yet, I assumed you meant deed poll-y stuff, silly me! Anyway, now I don't feel like such an anarchist! Same here, 'one of these days'. I might have mentioned it before, but we were supposed to organise it for our second NZ trip, but neither of us bothered our arses about organising it in the end, so it never happened. Maybe next time! I always end up talking myself out of the need for it when I have the internal debate...not scared, just not philosophically motivated towards it.
Amanda, Rory and Bath - I have familiarity with what you mean about pushing DH away because of your own experiences with abandonment and self-worth issues. Not because I do it, but because my mum does it all the time and it is the hardest thing to experience - no matter what you do, you can't 'make' someone believe different, they have to realise that the people around them choose to stay because of who you are, not in spite of it. PLEASE remember that! Sometimes I get a very mild case of it, and only then it's goes as far as wondering if DP would ever ask me to leave. It only ever gets that far because the answer is pretty simple. Everything he does, just about, is about 'us'. He's not a puppet, if he didn't want 'us', kid or no kid, he wouldn't be with 'us' :) You girls just touched a little nerve there with me and I thought I'd share that, for what it's worth!
Oscar has had two unsettled nights, little lamb. He ended up throwing up nearly all of his yummy dinner last night :( He's all clogged up and coughed till he spewed.
Tali - I know your little town - just up the road from me, literally! You went to the Twistie? My fire brigade is just down from there. As for Rochester, my horse was born there, about 3 years before I got him :) Don't suppose you know the Finches from FC and the Twistie?
Gotta go, turns out we reckon Oscar's shots have just started to affect him and that's why he turned to velcro and threw up :(
