Another nice weekend at home for us doing things around the house1 It feels like such a treat to be at home getting stuff done, as before we mvoed we were out every weekend for 10 weeks running. Having said that DH and I are going to drop tori at mum and dads and go and see Harry Potter this arvo and then going back for a Mum cooked Roast mmmmmmmmmmm (mine are never as good). We went shoppping yesterday and bought a new vacuum cleaner and a steam mop, I have white tiles through about 3/4 of the house so I have to be much better and mopping anc vacuuming to keep on top of the grim.
Nic- bummer about missing out on the w/e away.DH and i were going to take Tori away for a few days but we just dont seem to have the time to do it, so we are going to leave Tori for the night at Mum and Dads and have a night in a hotel, we are going to Cirque De Soleil in Sept so we will do it then. I also hope your DH picks up his act when the new bubba arrives.
Julie- Love the new avatar. Spewing about the bank, I would be angry as well, are they just allowed to do that without notifying you? I would be referring all angry calls from tradesmen directly to the bank.
Maya- i hope that Oscar is feeling better today.
Dee- I hope your brood are feeling better today. Good luck with the uni stuff this semester what units are you doing. Dont forget to let me know if you need any help with anything.
Donna- I hope that the morning sickness doesnt get too bad. I was really lucky this time and I wasnt half as bad as I was with Tori, however, I still had days where I felt awful. I said to a friend of mine that it is different this time ebcause I have Tori to focus on, where as last time all I had to think about was myself and my pregnancy.
Bath- How exciting at having the prospect of living overseas. Just imagine what a brillliant life experience it will be for your kids as well. Even though I am teacher and believe in everything that is taught in the classroom, there are some things that they just cant learn there and can only be gained through life experience, being emerged in a different culture, language, religion is a far richer experience than learning about it through books. There is a chance down the track that I could go on exchange as a teacher and work in another country, and I have say that Canada would be my first choice.
Im after some advice, tori has dropped down to 1 day nap now usually about 11:30 she goes down (after lunch) and sleeps anywhere from 1-3 hours (depending on if we are at home or out and about). She goes to bed between 6-7:30 depending on what time she got up from her nap........BUT she is isnt sleep through the night again, waking up at 3ish for at least an hour maybe 2. Not sure what to do to get her to sleep through the night, 2 day sleeps are just impossible she will not go down for a sleep in the afternoon, not even if she has only had an hours sleep during the day. Maybe she will adjust to her new routine as it has only really changed in the last 2 weeks. Any ideas?
Well better go I am being nagged to make the pancakes for brekkie that I promised.
Ali - I wish i had an answer for you, Lachlan is doing the same thing but, he will go to bed at about 1.30pm and sleep until about 3ish. then go to bed about 6.30 - 7pm and he too is up at about 1am for about an hour or so, just whinging, not screaming but very unsettled. Some things you could try: Is it cold in her room? perhaps put a little heater for the early hours of the morning. Have you tried music? this used to help with lachlan when he would wake up in the night he would still have the same music that he went to sleep with playing and he would go back on his own. Other than that, it might just be her getting used to her new routine. Maybe she isnt getting all the sleep she needs and she just needs to adjust to less sleep.

Mel - Great news about the dairy, soon she will be eating heaps of it and you will have forgotten all the dramas!! What a cheeky monkey getting out of her growbag!! Lachlan has a sleeping bag too, im waiting for the day he figures out the zipper!!
Nickers - What a shame about the competition. Winning must be in the air (with my mars bar win and all!)

Well, my 5 year old nephew is in hospital and has just been diagnosed with Diabetes type 1. He has to have 4 injections per day for the rest of his life. My sister is really upset and so is her DH. They have been in tears. On top of that he has to get blood from his fingers 4 times a day to test his blood/sugar levels. its horrible. he has little bandaids on all of his fingers and the doctors keep coming in and taking more. they are now taking blood from the part right next to the fingernail and its really hurting him. I hope he is ok. I know that alot of people live with this and after a couple of years it will just be a way of life for him but its just alot for a 5 year old to have to deal with and he is worried about being different to the other kids.
Im at work today, i have been looking forward to coming to work, its such a nice break!
Lachlan had another terrible night last night. up for a couple of hours from about 1am until about 3am. Oh i hope this ends soon!!
Donna a guy that I grew up with also had Type 1 diabetes and as he got older he had less shots of insulin, so maybe as your nephew gets older he will also have less shots, I'm thinking of your nephew and praying that it will get better for him. Diabetes Aust is usually a great place to check out as well.
Ali have fun at Harry Potterand enjoy your mum's roast. Cody is also only having one sleep during the day, but he's sleeping thru the night, maybe trying giving her some more food at dinner time or only allowing her to sleep for 1-2 hrs during the day. HTH.
Mel what a cheeky little monkey Marley is, that's great that she hasn't had a reaction with the yoghurt and the milk, hopefully she will stay like that.
Nic thats great that you've finally gotten a house, I'm sure you will feel more settled once you have moved. I did the same thing with DH just before I had Cody, once I had him everytime Wyatt would wake, I woke him and said Wyatts' up and he would get up to him. DH is a very deep sleeper. I hope that your DH helps you too.
Dee how are things going at your house? I hope that Melissa and Nathan are on the mend by now. That's great that your SIL got the kids to tidy up while you were out it must have been nice to come home to a tidy house.
Well on Friday Cody finally stood by himself without holding onto anything and he also took one step, so it won't be long before he will be running around with his brothers. I took Kailen and Cody to Kailens school fete today it was great, brought some choccy crackles and lollies for the boys from the cake stall and got a grocery bag of childrens books for $5. Got a roast lamb in the slow cooker for dinner and just about to go and watch Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Ali - how was Harry Potter? I want to take DH to see it on Sat for his birthday and we both love Harry Potter. White tiles will keep you busy lol!!! I have cream coloured ones and I am forever cleaning them. I usually do them with an old handtowel with some water and vinegar and use my foot to push the towel around, it gives you a great leg workout! I have no idea what you can do to help Tori sleep, but like Donna said, maybe the room is a bit chilly??? Good luck with it.
Donna - your poor nephew, what a thing to deal with at the age of 5! I am sure he will get alot of support from his parents and diabetes organisations. Thankfully it is something he can live with and manage. Its still sad that he has to go through all that skin pr!cking, must hurt! I love going to work too and I totally agree, it is a nice break.
Amanda - Cody is getting clever, bet he can't wait to chase after his brothers. I love a good school fete, esp for those treats like choc crackles, honey joys, fudge and cakes!!!! Glad you stocked up. Enjoy your afternoon of Harry Potter and lollies.
I have added to my website and album called Artworks. I would love to hear your opinions? My dad wanted a painting done for his birthday, the same as one I had already done. I decdied to do his a bigger version, hope he likes it! I really love painting and creating designs. They are very abstract as I can't really paint scenery etc, no good at that lol!
Chelsea has been a right pain in behind today, was going to take up Dees suggestion and sell her!!! It started off this morning when she was playing with Marley in her lounge room, she decided Marley was in her way so she pushed her and Marley fell scrapping her chin on the side of a cane chest, drawing blood! I was really mad at Chelsea as she didn't seem to care too much about it. I showed her the blood and she then looked worried - then off to the naughty corner. Later in the day, she knocked off one of my willow figurines that I got as a birthday present this year, and part of it smashed! I always tell her to keep away from them as they have come close to falling many times, she thinks its fun to play with them! Well I was so angry, she had to go to naughty corner again and sit for a bit longer. She did come over and apologise as she could see how angry I was. I tried to find the pieces that broke off but some had shattered, so there's no hope of putting it back together! Then to top it all off, she went into Marleys room this afternoon to get a wipe, problem was Marley was asleep and she woke her up! ARGGGGGGGHHHHHH. I thought I would have to worry about Marley breaking things, so far she hasn't broken anything! OK rant over!
Made a big lasagne for dinner, so better go put it in the oven. Hope everyone's had a good weekend.
