Coolabahdee passes Julie the glen 20, disinfectant, washing powder and some fresh clean towels. oh and a big hug:hug:
Julie you poor thing, I feel your pain sister. No Brianna and I had it the week before so it has gone through all of us now.;) We all had gastro in late May of last year when I was heavily pg with Nathan. I had gastrolyte at home also not good for carpet but interestingly strong red cordial is great for D's and V's. Learnt that little trick when I worked in Peads many many moons ago. Yay to the muppets getting their act together.
Yay Tali fingers are crossed you get the land, woohoo how exciting.
Yeah Amanda How did DH's op go, is he all on the mend now and back at work?
-
Julie- you poor thing, there is nothing worse than feeling like death and still having to get on with life as normal because tere i no one else to help out.
As for us Tori still isnt sleeping properly at night and I am totally exhausted, she was up from 11:30- 2:30 last night. Dh did the first shift from about 11:30-1 and then I got up with her, the only way she goes back to sleep is in her pram. I am totally at a loss of what to try next. I am wonderin g if she has suddenly realised that we are in a new hous and that is the prob? She is supposed to be at daycare today but I am going to keep her down and try to get her down for 2 naps and see if that makes a difference................sigh........ all I want is a good nights sleep!
-
Thankyou Rory for a delish birthday morning tea of the prettiest little cupcakes I've had in ages! :) Naturally I had to take a piccy... will upload when Niall naps.
-
Julie- you and your poor family. I hope Will contnues to get better and poor Oscar too for having his whole family ill at the same time, sounds like he took it and coped really well though.
Tali- thats great re: the land. Our Melb house is on a 808sq mtre block and its a pretty decent sized block! dont get that around Sydney for under 1mill thats for sure! (then u still have to knock an exsisting old home down still for that price)
Ali- it could very well be that she knows she is in a different environment, new house. I hope Nixon doesn't do the same thing to us, it must be extremley exhausting for you, esp when u really need all the sleep u can get right now.
You will never guess what happened 9pm last night.....we had a call from our agent 24hrs after DH told them to take it off the market and someone put in a written offer. we negotiated 5k more then they originally offered and accepted thismorning.
so we are taking the offer, would be stupid not to. Our dilema now is as of Monday i rang our neighbours to say yep all good for renting our place out, they had actually been approved for somewhere else and she was holding off replying until we spoke.
We have not physically signed any paper work with the neighbours regarding it yet and i told her on Monday that there will still be an open for inspection this Saturday because it was too late to take it out of the paper and already paid for. (and they knew there was an open last Sat as we had only just come to the decision of taking it off)
So they do know there is a slight posibility this could happen but who would have thought.....
its amazing it has taken the agent 6months and 24hrs after we pull the plug we get our first ever offer......
financially we need to take the offer, it would mean so much to us, we will end up with about a decent amount in our hand which we can sit on for a deposit later. If the right block of land come up in the next 12months we could buy it and sit on it for a while..... It would also mean we only have to pay our rent each week and no mortgage so could possibly save even more money for a deposit.
im sure they will understand our position but have every right to be upset and peed off.
the dilema now is "when" to call them. The buyers have now have until 24th July to pay 5% deposit. Once deposit is down its non refundable so if they pulled out we'd know we would atleast have that. but waiting another week means less time for the neighbours to find another place. They NEED to be out by 10th aug when their house goes through.
i also dont want to wait too long b4 calling them as they are with the same agent as us and someone could easily say to them that across the road is under offer.
in the back of my head i knew this would happen, but still cant beleive it has!
when do u think is the best time to call my neighbours??????
-
just quickly cos I have loads to do while a little boy sleeps...
Nic, I'd tell them as soon as possible that there is an offer on the house that is better than you expected. They would HAVE to understand the position that puts you in. It gives them the freedom to then start looking at other possibilities sooner rather than later. Also, you WILL find tenants for your house, should things fall through...but it really does sound promising. Telling your neighbours now will be fair to them and also to you :) Let us know how you go!
-
I agree, tell your neighbours ASAP. Then that means you won't be stewwing over it. However... congratulations Nic!!! I hope the buyer comes through with the deposit on the 24th!!!
-
Wow Nic that is fantastic, Congratulations. Yup I agree tell them now, they are sure to understand even if they are disappointed. Isn't it always the way, lol, oh well, YeeeHaaaawww.
Bath can't wait to see the piccies.
-
Not happy.... just went to all the effort of switching over to the lap top to load the piccy and now I can't find the vital cord to conect the camera to the 'pute. verity will know where it is... she uses the same cord to upload songs onto her mp3 player... don't you just hate not knowing where things are (mums of older children/ *grrrrrrr*)
Oh and rory: you left that cute little bib behind... Wade just found it on the floor... he said "Look mum! Rory forgot this! It's ours now!!!" ROFL I replied "no darl, it's little Flynnie's, we'll give it to Rory maybe on friday". I was thinking of going into melb central (Mel/Maya) if you'd like to join us :)
-
OG Bath I so hear you on that one, and of course they think they own it after using it once, lol. Grrrrrr I hate not having the right cord, I put things in their place and sticky fingers comes along uses them and does she put them back nooooo. Usually she leaves them down and little sticky fingers comes along and breaks them.
OK I was on the phone a little while ago and Nathan was crying in his cot and since itwas an important call I ignored him for a while, Anyway got off the phone and as I got to mybedroom door I could smell poo poo, thought ohhh yay as I opened the door and here is Nathan with his pants and nappy off, poo smeared all over himself and the cot and on my bed since the cot id right next to the bed, JUST GREAT,Grrrrr AAaarrrggghhh lol. So I stripped off his top layers and put him in my shower to wash off/ scrub. Redressed him and put him in the lounge, he was still screaming, he wanted booby. I then stripped his cot and my bed and then washed the cot and sprayed and wipe disinfectant all over it, oh and on the wall as well. It was bad. Anyway Nathan is getting his on room in my WIR his very own airy alcove where he is still only two steps away and can see me in bed. I'm reclaiming my bedroom, I've had enough poo and spew on my bed/ carpet. walls. He has been evicted. I'll take some photos when I have it sorted and charge my batteries for the camera.

Hey there,
Just a quick one, lachlan has just gone to sleep and i dont have much time, he slept for nearly 2 hours this morning (so did i) so i havent done anything today.
Oh dee, i must admit i had a bit of a giggle when i read that but i feel for you. Lachlan has only just learned how to take his nappies off and i have been fortunate enough to not have him do it after a poo (yet!!)
Ali - I just dont know what to suggest but hey, if you find something that works let me know, i am having the same problem. Lachlan was up between 1.30 - 3 this morning and im sooooo tired. My DH wont get up and do a shift!
Nickers - I agree with everyone else, tell your neighbours, at least give them the opportunity to wait and see what happens or find something else. Congratulations!!!
Julie - I hope you are all feeling better soon. I cant imagine a night that bad, i have had some horror nights but that sounds terrible. One thing i am going to do after reading your story is go out and buy some more cot sheets, i alternate between 2 sets!
Well, guys, im going to go and take the washing off the line, do some ironing, vacuum, mop and dust and if i have time sit down for a cup of tea!!
-
oh dee! i must admit i had a chuckle at your expense too but oh no! i fear the day of Nixon doing a smearing poo episode! he did a poo on the bathroom floor last week i had striped him ready for his bath and heard him grunt, looked down and a poo was on its way out lol!
Thanks guys, took your advise and i have just gotten off the ph to my melb neighbour. she was totally ok with it, well prob not but over the ph to me she was. i kept appologising and she really understands where we are coming from. So i really hope they find somewhere to live real soon, i still feel terrible for them but much releived now they know. Now its just fingers crossed these buyers go through! They have paid $1000 holding fee and deposit due next tues.
Yayyyy for us! i think i deserve to have a glass of bubbly when i get home!
-
I think you deserve a glass too! Good on you for jumping straight on the phone, now you won't lose sleep worrying! Oh and Good Boy Nixon doing a poo BEFORE getting in the bath! Nothing worse than a floater! And Dee that must have been the last straw! I agree, time to reclaim your bedroom... if he can still see you then he should be right.... our nursery/main bedroom are directly across the foyer... Niall can watch me get into bed if I leave the wide double doors open. Oh and speaking of Niall: after sleeping all night until 8.30am I put him down after rrory left just before noon and HE IS STILL ASLEEP!!! must be the weather. He will be nice and rested for our night out tonight: DH just emailed me to make sure that i have the kids ready for 6pm... he has booked a restaurant which we can order our dinner from home on the phone and it will be ready to serve as soon as we arrive! It's a local Indian restuarant. I'm so excited... it's been aaaages since we've eaten out as a family... and at least the kids are usually well behaved... so looking forward!
ETA: Julie: How's Oscar? Has he escaped the gastro for certain? Isn't it weird when something serious goes around and one child avoids it totally... happened with me and chickpox: Verity seemed to avoid it altogether.
-
Ohhh Bath that sounds fabulous, sooo jealous, I'd love some yummy restuarant food.
Yeah I'm laughing at my boy's incident now, lol
But he's still evicted, lol
Nic I think you deserve one babe. One is not harmful in anyway so go for it.

Tali – Good luck with the block – sounds a great size, I am very envious (our block is only 436m and that’s classed as quite large where we are!!!). hope the finance comes through for you and hope you had a good time at the cairns show.
Dee – Thanks for the hug, glen20 etc! Will try the red codial next time (hopefully there won’t be a next time but I bet there will be). Sorry to hear about your super-poo episode – nightmare! I did have a teeny weeny giggle but have been abit too close to lots of poo myself recently so I know its not funny at the time. Good on you for claiming your room back – we have been tempted to do same but would need to put Will in the laundry for that to happen which is other end of house so no-go – will just have to wait until new house is finished.
Ali – You must be so tired after a night like that, poor you. I’ve not experienced that (yet) so I can’t think of any useful advice, just hope you get a good nights sleep soon.
Nic – That’s fab about the offer on your house, sounds like it will sort you out completely. It’s good you rang your neighbour and told her quick – it must feel nice not to be stressing about having to make that call now. Crack that bubbly out!
Bath – hope you find your cord for your lap top – how frustrating. Have a great time out for your Indian tonight – sounds good that you can order from home and it be ready when you arrive so you don’t have to entertain them for 30 minutes when you get there. Oscar is fine, bouncing everywhere as normal and hasn’t been affected at all (touch-wood). I am pretty certain he would have come down with it by now if he was going to but am prepared to eat my words! Good on Verity for avoiding the chicken pox – am really not looking forward to that running through the house although Osc is vax against it and Will will be in another 5 months so hopefully won’t be too bad.
Donna – poor you too! That is such a long time to be up in the night, you must be exhausted. Glad you got more cot sheets – definitely recommended, we have 5 sets between 2 kids which is normally loads but when one is sick – no way hosey! (sp). Hope you get your house work done and have time for a rest.
James has gone to work this afternoon – would have gone this morning but the reticulation started leaking and it’s been plumbed direct into the mains so no way to switch it off. Didn’t want to waste water so had to ring landlord and lady – the came over to fix and were horrified by the weeds in the front and back garden and called it disgusting – it’s not that bad! Grass is short and neat but no we haven’t done anything about weeds for along while with james being away. Its so low down on our list of priorities but I guess we’ll try and sort it over the weekend – won’t take much as like I said they aren’t that bad, it just doesn’t look like a show-home garden like they were expecting. Oscar still more than fine, I’m fine just a little wobbly and Will seems fine too but just a little Velcro-ey but that’s to be expected so all good here now – phew!
Hope you’re all having a good day
Julie x

Julie - you poor thing, what a *****ty weekend you've had. So glad to hear its all turning around. Sounds like Oscar has a strong immune system if he managed to avoid it all. I only have a couple of cot sheet too, might have to stock up on a few more. Regarding the figurine, I will go buy another one and Chelsea told me she wont go near them anymore. Don't worry about the copyright, go for it girl! Me and a couple of friends wont to go into business selling those type of canvases for kids rooms. We were thinking of having a couple of designs for each gender. The ones I have seen on the net are sooo expensive, our will be much more affordable. Yeah on the house front, it will be built before you know it! My other reason for getting to work early (apart from the coffee and chat with my friend) is to get a carpark. It is ridiculous, if you don't get there early, there are no spots and you spend ages driving around.
Tali - fingers crossed about your block of land, it sounds like a decent size. Have fun at the show, I bet it lovely and sunny in cairns today? It only got to 9 yesterday (far too cold!!!).
Ali - you must be stuffed! Hope you find something that works soon. Might be the new environment. I moved Marleys cot once and she wouldn't sleep, moved it back and she was fine.
Bath - is it your birthday today? If it is a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, hugs! Would that be why you are heading out tonight - have a wonderful time. Family dinners out are such fun esp when the kids behave themselves. Enjoy! Wade is such a thoughtful little man and I liked the idea of keeping whatever any one leaves behind, clever lol!!!
Dee - sorry, little bit of giggling here too!!! I can understand why the eviction. I used to have to use sticky tape on Chelsea's nappies as she always pulled them off. I then had to use scissors to cut them off her as I used so much tape. You might have to get out the sticky tape lol!!!
Nic - congratulations, I'm sure the sale will go through. Things are all happening now for you. Glad the talk with the neighbours went well, I would totally understand if it was me. They would prob do the same thing if the roles were reversed. That bubbly is going to taste so good - enjoy your celebrations, well deserved. PML about the poo incident, why is it that poo stories always make us laugh???
Donna - I have been hibernating inside too today, it far too cold to go outside! I've done a bit of housework but I really can't get motivated today, thankfully the house was still clean from Monday.
Maya - I saw snow at Ferny Creek general store on the news and looked like quite a bit of it. How is it at your place, did you get any snow?
The sun is finally out here, but it is still so cold. Heaters have been raging since this morning. Kids have been really good today considering they have been cooped up all day. Chelsea did some painting this morning and we made jelly (for dessert tonight) and crepes for atea! Just had mine with a cuppa and they were delicious. My baby brother (he is 12 years younger than me) is coming for dinner tonight (chicken curry) and I need to get work stuff organised for tomorrow. DH is home tomorrow so I don't need to get the kids stuff ready. This will make my morning a lot easier.
Hope everyone is having a good day :)
-
Hi Mel - we posted at the same time. Yummy for the crepes could go one now! Sounds like you're having a good day.
Julie x
ETA - :confetti: Happy birthday Bath! :confetti:
-
About to head out to see my dad and get a new bin (long story), but had my SIL over before for a couple of hours with my niece.
Good one, Nic! You can breathe easy for now :)
Dee - how funny about the poo! At home Oscar is in folded terries with covers on, so it will be quite a while before he figures out how to get out of those! At night he is in sposies, but he doesn't do poo overnight and sleeps soundly enough to leave his nappies alone...for now...
Bath - happy birthday!!
Mel - Can you do some gender neutral canvases, too???? You have inspired me, for sure! I nearly got to clean my rusty laptop keyboard today but Oscar woke up :) When I do that I will allow myself the luxury of taking up all the hems on jeans, all the sewing machine mending that needs doing, and THEN I will get out my paints when I'm not studying!
Better go, I'm being harrassed...
