Babies Born June 2006 #41

Yum fruit loops haven't have them for years as I am a mean mummy and wont by the my kids only get boring weetbix with a bit of milo on them for taste but poor Kai doesn't even get that she has them plan with hot water and a little bit of milk.

Well I have just tried to up load some photo's as we went to port douglas on the sunday and thought some of you girls from the sth might want to see some sunshine. Plus we went to a wild life park and I took a photo of a male and female croc giving each other a hug and thought it looked really cute it amazing how much bigger the male is.
It was DH's birthday so we went up there to have breaky with the bird and then walked aroud the park the kids loved it as they got to feed the kangaroos pat a kolar and feed the birds some meal worms ( they look like maggots ) but the sun was out and not much wind so a nice sunday out.
well kai is up and very grumpy today wont let me put her down hope its just teeth and not another cold..

Tali - just checked out the pics and what a beautiful family you have including yourself! The coastline looks so pretty and how nice to see blue sky and people in shorts lol!!! The kids have obviously got their blonde locks from you.

Amanda - just saw your pics too and how cute are your boys! Such happy,chubby babies. Lachlan and Kailen look so similiar. Is Cody the odd one out being the dark haired one, does he still have dark hair?

DH was kind enough to take Chelsea swimming this morning while I went and picked up a pressie for my GF who is having her 2nd bub tomorrow morning. I forgot how nice it was to shop with just baby in a pram. Went and put on layby some summer clothes for the girls from Target while the sale is still on. Had planned to get to Kmart too but ran out of time. Toys R Us have some Bonds stuff on sale and they have a new range of tshirts which were only $8. Just lightweight ones to put under other clothes, so picked up 2. Also got myself 2 work tops for $25 so left happy! DH at work tonight so its just the girls tonight. Better go and see how dinner is going.

I checked it out, too - very cute pics! You look like you've lived up north all your life, not having spent half of it in freezing Ferny Creek!
Managed to listen to one lecture today, but with one ear, grrr.
DP has an RDO, was supposed to go to his brother's to help him build his shed. He didn't go, but do you think he said to me "Hey, get your books, I'll take Oscar after I've cleaned up around here a bit"? No, that could only happen in fantasy!
Oscar is being a barnacle again, but he's sleepy. Hopefully he nods off so that I can cook part of dinner (we won the meat tray raffle at brigade last week and will be using up some chops!).
Julie - how's things over there? Are you in an area affected by floods? Hope not! Although, then your folks will have nothing better to do than party on for the naming days...with all the harvest under water...but I really hope, for their sakes, that that has not happened! Post some pics!
You know, Oscar still only has two bottom teeth. The second two beside the first two top ones are nearly through. He's becoming such a little boy. No words yet, but he likes a rant. He also likes to pick up the harmonica and blow into it from time to time, and that's very funny. He's also being particularly adorable by throwing his arms around me. Sometimes it's when he's feeling fragile, and other times it's like he's checking in with me before he goes off on another exploration - like a refuel of affection. Also, instead of carrying on when he's hurt himself and he's in my arms, he's learning that it helps the hurt go away if he tucks his head into the nook between my chin/jaw and collar bone and waiting it out. He knows what's good for him! Just a bad habit of getting more and more adorable every day. It sets a high bar for the next kid...
How has the start of the week been for everyone else? Ready for work, Mel?

Maya - gotta love the aussie tradition of a meat tray! I worked in a pub many years ago and won one, it was very exciting as its the only raffle prize I have won lol! How cute with Oscar and his "nestlings", how quick they learn the best way to comfort themselves. Yes I am ready for work and thankfully DH is home tomorrow so he is looking after Marley and taking Chelsea to kinder. Chelsea is very excited as they have pyjama day at kinder tomorrow, and a gold coin donation to the Wesley City Mission. She just can't believe she can wear her pj's and ugg boots to kinder all day! Makes life very easy for DH in the morning. Hope your ear clears up so you can hear some more lectures.

Very excited, ER is back on TV tonight! YAH!!!

Well, I'm still trying to get over the weekend. Kate looked like a princess, she was the only girl to do her First Communion on Sunday, so of course got all the attention.(Photos are still coming ladies!)
I bought Pat a little trolley type thing that he can push around and he has been running around pushing it, still only likes to take 4-5 steps by himself, but I can now say that he is walking!!!!!!!

ETA- Mel, that sounds fun about the PJ day at kinder! Lizzie starts orientation soon for school next year, she is so excited!

Jess - I get it all the time! Everyone at brigade is used to it, but the girls from Mothers Group think it's weird. Mainly cos they have weaned, most of them because they felt it was important to 'get their bodies back'. So, it doesn't get the belly laugh with MG that it does amongst brigade types. I love it. I love to be 'claimed' by my booby feeder!

Went to brekky this morning and then went to drop in on a brigade friend I hadn't seen in ages, who I thought could do with the reminder that he's missed. Glad I did that, he's a good egg!
Oscar is out on the deck yelling out at the dogs and I've blocked off the steps, so he can play in the dog bowls and wander in and out of the house at will.
I'm trying to listen to another lecture, but it occurs to me that I can't really listen properly and post on BB...which sort of puts into practice what we've been learning about attention! Ha! At least I know WHY I'm not taking in much!
Oops, just occurred to me that I have not thought about anything for dinner...better sort that out.
Got booby club tomorrow, might swim in the arvo, or Thur morning.

Great work day today, got so much done and left feeling like I had done alot and finished alot. Had one meeting today and 2 of Thursday so may not get too much done of Thursday. My GF had her little boy this morning by c/s, Felix Guy born at 8.25am, 8lb 9oz and a week early. Big boy. Going to see her tomorrow night as she is at a hospital 2 secs up the road. Might have to visit more than once to get my baby fix! All these babies around, what is the universe trying to tell me???? Chelsea had a ball at kinder today with pyjama day. She told me about which kids had which pj's on, it was all very exciting to her! DH told me MIL called over this afternoon just before he was leaving to pick up Chelsea. She left and off he went, when he got to kinder he noticed Marley has red marks on her face and thought she might have had a reaction to something! He looked closer and noticed they were in the shape of lips!!!! MIL had kissed her on both cheeks and left lipstick on them. DH was killing himself laughing, and then proceeded to rub it off. At least he is vigilant lol!

Off to bed to read for a while. Night all. :)

Sorry girls only ben lurking lately posting here and there, I haven't been well, I've been down with this dreaded flu,atleast it has gone thhrough all of us now though, Hopefully this will be the end of all the sickness in this house. It has been lovely wether so the house has been well ventilated to hopefully blow any germy's away. Can't stand being sick and still having to run around after everyone.

Hope you feel better soon, Dee - I feel better after what I had lately has started to wear off.
Booby Club just finished and Oscar is asleep in the car. Actually, I'm in the car, too. Now that I have a full working laptop, it occurred to me that our Apple Airport works from quite a distance and that I could put things in the house, stuff a croissant with homemade raspberry jam, grab laptop, text book and mobile phone and go back to the car to sit with sleeping Oscar. That way he doesn't wake up upset that no-one's here. It also means that the washing doesn't get put out or brought in, but I'll chuck him in the Ergo again for that if I feel it desperately needs to be done. I can always wait till DP gets back. But I want this kid to have a nice long sleep. He fell asleep just shy of midday, so I don't think I'm pushing it.
Anyway, it's warm in here, out of the wind! As soon as Oscar wakes, I'm going to go back in and toast some of my cheese loaf bread from the bakery - I'm such a sucker for that bread.
Better do what I came in here for, read my text book while the kid snoozes...

Good afternoon, another lovely washing day, just as well, wet weekend ahead... I've been using more fabric nappies again while the weather lasts and I can get them dry easily. Thanks for the ticker comments , made it less vivid... oh and I fixed up the date of that photo of DH and I (him looking scruffy, me with plaits) it was actually taken back in 1997!!!! ie a decade ago! Had a laugh at your comments in the gallery Maya :D Yes, he does "scruffy" good ;) I've been trying to talk him into considering a "tree change" and heading back up to the New England region (where all my family are, most on farms)... if the expat idea doesn't pan out. I think it would do us all the world of good.

Jess: sounds like Kate's ceremony went smoothly... have you loaded any piccys onto the member gallery yet?

Mel: LOL you'll know when/if the universe starts telling you to go for another... the shout is deafening... thankfully it's been quiet for me, on the whole, you know when you're family is complete I think... still, it's harder knowing that there won't be any more for me than I thought it would be. I think I will always get clucky, it's just the kind of person I am, and I'm going to love getting to know every new baby that is born to our little group too :)

Ahhh, Bath, that makes more sense, 10 years ago! I'm glad you spelled out who it was in the pic with you, because the very respectable DH you have now does NOT look like the boheme in that photo! Wow, New England - very pretty...I would then have to do road trips to visit you there...

I just put some music on to keep Oscar asleep longer. I think the silence can wake him up during the day, sometimes!

Maya - how funny sitting in the car with your laptop!!! But if you've got to get work done, what better way to do it lol! That bread sounds delicious, love fresh bread esp the varieties such as olive, cheese etc. Hopefully going to see my friend tonight or tomorrow. Rather go without kids so I can focus on the new bub and chatting to my friend. DH is home tonight and tomorrow so I can pick. You never know, we might be pregnant together??? Still not sure when I would like to be pregnant, if that makes sense. Just know I don't want to be heavily pregnant in summer like I was with Chelsea, didn't cope to well with that. Was starting to resemble the Michelin man! Marley always sleeps with the radio on 24/7 (3AW), and Chelsea did too - maybe thats why both my girls have been such good sleeper, they like talkback radio lol!

A tree change would be great, where is New England (says girl who has lived in Vic her whole life!). Sometimes I get a shout, then a whisper IYKWIM? I change my mind all the time - silly really, I shouldn't think about it so much. I know I'm not done having kids, its weird how you know that - for me its a matter of when. I am a very clucky person too, always have been. I think maybe I might be putting it off because I know its the last?? Psychoanalysing myself.

Made a sticky date pudding which smells divine - got recipe off BB. DH loves it so made it as a surprise, he'll be so stoked! I will have to keep my hands off it till after dinner!

sorry i can only come on here wed/fri its really frustrating! computrer still at MIL and today dh was ringing to organise internet connection.
furniture finally arrived last Sat, now it looks more homely and finally i have a lounge to sit on!

yesterday was my birthday & dh made me breakky in bed which was good cause Nixon kept me up half the night and end up brining him in to sleep with us at 5am. Nixon & bub bought me a rusty pair of trackies and hoodie, but dont exactly fit me right now!
DH bought me a 3hr pampering package which i have booked for next monday. Includes a 30min pg massage, $40 worth of waxing a 60min foot treatment and a 60min facial!!
my fam come over in the arvo for cake then mum and dad have Nixon Tues nights so DH and i went to dinner and the movies. we had tepanyaki which was fun and saw "Knocked up" god it was funny! and could relate to so much of it to lol!
DH also invited a few friends and fam over for a bbq on Sunday which i knew nothing about so was a nice afternoon.

havent had much time to catch up on the past few days posts will read back on some of them now, hope your all well
