Oh Jess, that sucks! I hate double whammies - I always end up looking for the third :(
Well had a nice day today - even though Flynn was whinning the night before from 12-30 to 2.30am and I had to keep going to him what seemed every 20 mins. I started off getting to sleep in cause DH got up with Terror-child at 6am and then had a yum-cha lunch cruise with friends. Then a quick hot choccy and a visit to Highpoint with a GF to buy a nappy bucket for my clothie dry-pailing, new rubbish/compost/recycling bins and a belt for DH, and then home to a happy Flynn who'd been out to a Sth Amercian festival with his grandparents all day so DH could get his masters work done. Flynn, DH and I then had a nice dinner and our boy went to sleep without a hitch (here's hoping he stays that way for at least 12 hours LOL!) And the house is semi-clean and organised which is lovely too!
DH has his "beep test" for the fire brigade on Wednesday - he did a test run tonight and found it easy and his knee appears to be holding out ok (fingers crossed!!)
Better go, though - I want to get stuff ready for a crock pot dinner tomorrow night. Ciao bellas :)
Jess - what a day! Did you manage to get the care fixed? How scary being on a country road at night with no lights!
Rory - I love your comments you made at the lunch! I bet you were the only honest one to speak out but I bet plenty of them were thinking exactly the same thing. Yum cha cruise, where abouts is that? Sounds fun. Hope Flynn gives you the 12 hours!
Tali - great news about Kai's eye. I am sure we could organise a xmas catch up and it would be fun if we could meet you and the kids before 2009! I haven't read the new HP book either yet, must be the only one who hasn't lol!
Julie - how is Will going with his cold?
Amanda - hope your cycle starts behaving itself! Oh the dreaded pap smear, I really should book in to get mine done. I keep hearing those adds on the radio about it. I hate toilet training. Out of all the parenting things we have to do, I would say that was one of the worst!!!! Its so frustrating and my patience level is not very high. Good luck with it, at least you've done it a few times now!
Nic - well done Mum! She might have to share her secret with us all lol!!!!
I've had a such a productive weekend! Saturday I painted my bedroom wall (with the help of a friend, while DH kept an eye on the kids), which looks wonderful. Friend stayed for dinner, a few glasses of wine and very late to bed. Got up this morning and it looks better in the daylight. Now I have this beautiful, fresh looking room its time for a new bedroom suite and mattress. The current mattress and suite is nearly 15 years old so its time for a new one. Off to Harvey Norman and found exactly what we wanted. Our new mattress is so divine, I just wanted to take it home there and then! Both are being delivered on Wed. New colour scheme also means new sheets and doona cover. Off to the shops and after scouring every manchester place, finally found what I wanted in the last shop!!!! Got a gorgeous doona cover (very plain), new sheets and 3 cushions, all of varying sizes and textures (I have a bit of a cushion fetish!!!). I just love them and can't wait to put it all together. I will take a pic when its all done.
Marley has started to climb the couch! This is something that Chelsea never did, so its freaking me out. We have a tile floor and I am so worried that she is going to go splat on tiles and really hurt herself. We have a thick rug on the floor but I am sure if she falls, she will miss the rug. She is so quick to get up too. I will just have to be super careful and hope she doesn't fall!
Hi All
Amanda - hope your cycle sorts itself out soon - mine is all over the shop so haven't a clue! Good luck on the TT front with Wyatt - pass on any tips if it works! we started with Oscar a while back but gave up as he wouldn't tell us/admit when he wanted to go so i got too frustrated and thought i'd wait until he was abit older and maybe abit more willing!
Nic - what a top mum getting your stains out! bless her.
Rory - your lunch sounded great. Good luck to your DH for his bleep test!
Mel - Will's still snotty but fine in himself. Ooooooo whole new bedroom - i'm so envious. Sounds like it's going to look good enough to put in a magazine! yep - the whole climbing thing is v scary! We've had to hide oscar's small wooden chairs as will keeps pushing them around and using them to climb onto things - i've found him on the dining table and in the sink in the bathroom so far - v v scary! We have tiles too so am also waiting for the sickening splat!
Hi to jess, Maya, Bath, Tali, Dee, Donna - hope you are all good.
had a nice productive weekend. Got this place all clean and tidy as had some of James' family friends fly out to Aus and stay with us last nice before they picked their camper up today to do abit of a tour up North so i can sit here on BB with no guilt as nothing needs doing house-work wise! Went and saw the house on saturday and it looks so good - will upload a few pickies soon ot it and some more recent ones of the boys. Went to a party at my playgroup on sunday and that was nice. Worrying abit now though as Oscar woke this morning with a temp of 38.4 and no voice even though he was fine yesterday so i hope he hasn't passed it on to anyone. We've just sat and watched tv and read books today as i think he feels really rough. Just waiting for Will to get it on top of his cold. It's just seems never ending!
Will finally decided walking was better than crawling yesterday so is now toddling everywhere which i'm so pleased about.
james goes away tomorrow for 3 days so abit grumpy but it's only 2 nights and hopefully he won't have anything else away until end of October. I think it's a long weekend for us next week so don't know what we'll be up to.
Hope you're all having great days
Julie x
Hiya Julie :) Good on you (and Rory!) for getting everything done! It really improves the spirits hey?
We've got GrandDad (FIL) staying with us this week which is nice. he is great with the kids, will sit and play with the boys for ages and gentley pull Verity into line when she needs it. But I can't spend as long as I usually do on BB... bit anti-social... but I do pop on here when I can.
Better go make that afternoon tea that I promised whilst the men are out the front yard fixing the fence.
Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrg school holidays are here again!!!
Yesterday was horid so we just wont talk about it. But thank G that today is better as the kids were more like to the well behaved children that I asked the stork for all those years ago.
Kai has decide that she doesnt like her sister as she now screams at her pinches her and pulls her hair and I dont know what to do about it. DD is taking it pretty well but will start to cry if kai does it to oftern. I say she doesnt like her sister as she is very loving to her brother as she will give him lots of kiss's and will say " love you " ( well what we think is love you ) she loves it when he hops in the bath with her but if DD hops in she will scream at her the whole time and point at her, almost like she is tring to tell her to get out. So I end up taking Kai out as I cant stand the screaming. maybe its because they are both with me all the time that she feel the compition with her sister I hope this isnt a sign of whats to come when they are both teens.
Well the weather her as had a turn for the worst not that it cold anymore as the build up has started but we have had rain for the last two days so that mean the kids cant use the pool as it is too cold when there is no sun and we cant get out of the house and ride bikes. lets hope tommorrow is better as we are ment to be going to surgarworld water park with some girls from playgroup.
finish harry potter yesterday I thought it was pretty good tied up all the loose end nicely but I think I will have to read the last few chapters again just to let it all sink in a bit as there was too much going on but anyone who has read HP books would know that there always is too much in the end.
Well better go as its almost my time to have a coffee and watch bold.

Julie - I haven't yet found Marley on the dining table or sink yet, but that may come LOL!!!! We have a fairly low couch so she just throws up her leg and manages to catch on. Chelsea has taken to holding out her hands and encouraging her to jump off!! Great! Isn't it awesome having a clean house and knowing you don't have to do anymore (and sit on BB guilt free lol!). Can't wait to see pics of your new place, when do you expect to move in? Congrats on Will taking the plunge to walking, I love those first few weeks of wobbly steps. Seems like lots of kids are sick at the moment, hope both your boys feel better soon.
Bath - hiya! It must be nice having an extra pair of hands to help out with the kids. Oh whats for atea? I bet something really yummy.
Tali - wish I could offer you some advice about the girls. Mine go through stages but seem to get over it quick enough. We have had a few hair pulling and hitting (from Marley) incidents. It could be a jealousy thing, she might see DD as taking away your time with her. Teenage years with 2 girls in the house, what fun we will have! I can't believe it gets cold in Cairns? I thought it was hot all the time. Melb has turned on the sunshine today. I might go and catch the rest of bold too!
Bit of spring cleaning going on today. I have moved Chelsea's room around (I move furniture all the time, drives DH nuts!) and vacumed it, very happy with the new look. DH started painting our laundry yesterday, which is in desperate need of a paint! We renovated the house 5 years ago and the laundry was done and never painted! It is looking a bit fresher but I still need to finish the rest. Was going to try and move the dryer off the wall but thought I had better wait for DH to get home. Starting to clear out all our drawers in the bedroom ready for our new bedroom suite on Wed. Wish it was here today!!!!
Hi Mel :) Afternoon tea is just some of my fruit cake I made last week and biccys... FIL is 81 and loves his a/m teas etc so I feel appreciated in that department! I inherited all MIL's cooking books when she passed away so plan to make some more of his favourites. I meant to say how lovely your bedroom sounds! Can't wait to come over again soon for a squiz! :)
Also my poor sis (rosehannah) and I can't send PMs yet until she has reached 50 posts :( I should get her to come in here for a chat to get her post count up! She is calling me every day (STD) for BB help of one kind or another! Gonna cost her a fortune!
Hi all, just popping my head in to say hello.
Busy weekend here, Tori is sick again ( I had a big rant about it in the boohoo room so wont do it again here) so I am exhausted again as we no one in this house got much sleep last night.
School holidays start here on Friday, so they start for me at lunch time on Wednesday, I am really ready for the break.
Anyway best go, I am having a very early night tonight.
Hi Ali - hope Tori is felling better soon - am in same boat - both mine sick now - not looking forward to tonight and James goes away tomorrow morning for 3 days grrrr. Hope you can wind down in the school hols.
Have uploaded some more photos into the gallery if anyone wants a nosey - some house ones and soem recent ones of the boys - plus a daft one of all 4 of us - only one we've got of the 4 of us since boxing day!
Julie x
Ali and Julie I so sympathise on the sick bubbas - I hate it when Flynnie is ill!
Bath, glad FIL is keeping the kids entertained!
Mel I will have to check out your room next :) The yum cha cruise was on the Yarra as part of the Asian Food Festival - the food was ok and it was more the novelty than anything else that made it special.
Tali I am so not looking forward to having my children fight! The daughter of my neighbour just had a little giril, and her older one is 3 and a half. Apparently the older girl is being really jealous but the mother said "Oh I know she will get over it soon". I thought, yeah, she will, but that'll all change once your little one starts taking all her toys and being a toddler! I didn't want to sound like a smart @rse or heap more stress on a poor tired mum who has just had a c-section, but it amazed me that she really thought that once her older daughter got over the initial phase it would all be rosy  I really thank all you girls with more than one for preparing me for the reality that kids change and will have their rough patches and good times.
DH's knee was a bit sore yesterday after his practice beep test but better today, and he has an osteo appointment this arvo so fingers crossed he is ok for tomorrow:pray:
Better go - at work today - but good news is I only have 16 more days in the office (add to that my 5 days at home though) after today before I go on mat leave!!!!!
ETA: So Mel, where is the photo of your new room!!! Should go under artwork!!
Well, here i am sitting in the loungeroom only me, Bella and Pat. The kids are in Euroa, house is tidy and DH is at work! Yes you read that right, he is at work! Training is today, thursday, and next Tuesday and he starts as a Permanent Part Timer Thursday next week! So happy for him, now if we could only get this bloody van sorted out!!!!!!!! I hate it to the point that I want it to go missing, but then I couldn't drive the kids anywhere so its a lose lose situation.
Got my new PASH kit yesterday, so have spent some time working that out...so now I just have to get the parties...I need 4 parties within 5 weeks, so hopefully I'll do that! An added incentive is the hostesses get a $25 voucher just for holding a party! Ok better go and see what Pat wants, plus DH will be home for lunch at 12, so I'll go see what I have in the fridge!
Ali and Julie I so know how you are feeling, I have two little snot monsters that have a lovely cough as well, not nice. Hope that Tori, Will and Oscar get better soon.
Rory good to hear the DH prac beep test went well, hopefully his knee will be all better for tomorrow, so is it 3 more weeks left of work total? Not long now, even tho it most probably is dragging for you.
Bath yay on having FIL there, some adult conversation never goes astray does it.
Mel will have a look at your artwork soon, and you will defineately want a pic of your new bedroom suite, I'm hopeing to get one sooner or later, it helps that my brother works for Amart so I might be able to get a discount, hehe.
Not much going on here, Wyatt is doing well only has one accident a day and he woke up from his afternoon nap yesterday dry so thats good, the only thing is that I'm still having to prompt him to go to the loo and he doesn't tell me, hopefully he will get the idea soon. Got all my washing done yesterday was a great day for doing so, nice and sunny with a slight breeze.
Cody and Wyatt are my little snot monsters, with Cody having a temp yesterday I don't know if the running nose and temp was from teething or not as he also had acidic smelling poo as well, no sign of temp today so that's good. Wyatt and Lockie have the cough, but the doctors said that it's nothing to worry about, just snot running down the back of their throats. Better go, school holidays started yesterday, Kalien's been great with Wyatt's TT, he's been taking him and Wyatt loves him taking him, Kailen's such a great help when he wants to be.
hugs xoxo
Bath - the oldies love their morning and atea don't they, and they drink so many cups of tea. That is so nice of you to make his favourite treats, I'm sure he loves coming to visit with you guys. Tell your sis to reply to all the new people and any birth, pregnancy announcements, her 50 will be up in no time.
Ali - how is Tori today? I read you post, how frustrating and annoying and I can see why you'd be p!ssed off. Hope you all got a better nights sleep last night.
Julie - house looks amazing! Can't believe it looks almost finished. Looks like it will be nice and quiet for a while, not many neighbours around yet. Love your family photo too, you and DH make a very cute couple and throw 2 cute little boys in too - cute family!!! Both boys have such beautiful eyes.
Rory - siblings fighting is just the norm I think. I am sure everyone's kids will do it at some stage. The novelty of the cruise would have been fun. I need to keep an eye out for these things, but DH is usually working over the weekends. Photo of new bedroom tomorrow - depending on what time my new bed arrives. I am just dying to get in there and get it ready. It will look so good, I won't want to sleep in it LOL!!!! Well done to DH, wish him luck for tomorrow. 16 more days and counting, are you marking your calendar with big black crosses at the end of each work day?
Jess - congrats to DH on his new job. Hope you can get your van fixed soon, would be extra hard not having a car with your kids so busy.
Amanda - its so handy getting mates rates lol!!! Wish I had one of those here. Wyatt sounds like he is getting the hang of TT. I am sure if you remind him enough about going to the toilet, he'll soon remember. I sometimes still have to ask Chelsea as she will hang on forever! Good job Kailen - he sounds like a great big brother and much more fun going to the loo with big brother rather than mum!!!
At work today, its lunchtime and I am starving. Off to get some lunch.
Unfortunately no - I only work in the office 3 days a week so I actually still have FIVE weeks to go, but counting the in-office days makes it sounds better LOL!!:
so is it 3 more weeks left of work total? Not long now, even tho it most probably is dragging for you.
Sorry Junies! I've been out of my head and living the last week at a very fast pace...what have I got myself into with this Tupperware? I needed another activity like a hole in the head!
My parents are down for the school holidays and my sister is over with my niece. Things became fractious between my mum and I today...same old story but with a new flavour.
Oscar has been brilliant and the light of my life :) DP and I had a 'thing' over the weekend, but it was resolved for the better - we're in a much better place between us now, so it was good to have it out. It was related to something you girls have said before in relation to dynamics here at home. He pretty much said that I'm no doormat, yet when it comes to him I won't arc up and tell him how it is. I told him that I had discussed it with the counsellor and that I think I have an irrational and unfounded fear that if I do arc up, he'll decide he doesn't want me anymore. I KNOW this is irrational, yet I back off every time, so as not to say something hurtful that I can't take back. However, we've moved on from that and it's all good!
Last Friday I went over to use my neighbour's study, as they are overseas and she's given me the house keys for that very purpose. I LOVE her study set up - I was there for hours, and I haven't had a chance to go back and make the most of the opportunity (I have a big assignment due next week, another the following week and exams at the end of the month).
Now I'm torn between spending time with my sister and niece, spending time on Tupperware (which I NEED to do to earn my SuperStart kit!), catching up on reading, writing my assignment and spending some quality time with my favourite boy (ok, so he's one of two!). Hole in the head.
Oscar is still feeding ravenously and I am increasingly getting the double takes and the "How old is he again?". I mentioned it last week and it just keeps happening since. Oh, well. It's between me and the boy :P
Better get back to it - got my dinner dishes to wash (I was at a CFA related meeting that was awesome - Jane Ashton, sister of the lady, Julie, killed by her millionaire husband who claimed provocation, spoke on family violence and it was really, really good. If anyone has a group that they would like her to speak to, I have her card if you want her contact details. She has some great things to say about what you can do if you find out someone is in an abusive relationship, mentally or physically), local paper to read and teeth to brush, not to mention a full boob...
Sorry, no personals - I've been lurking and missing you all, though!
maya - i feel knackered just reading about everything that you are into - you must have boundless energy. Glad you and dp resolved some issues.
Rory - not many work days left for you - how nice. has Flynn got into his new shoes yet?
Amanda - Wyatt's TT sounds like it's going great guns - yay! I might be sending you another little boy who's not far off 3 to have a go with soon! Hope your snot monsters are less snotty!
Jess - hope you've got your van sorted.
Mel - cheers for the house and cute couple comments! I have a daft expression on my face on that picky and Will is just about to lose it but i love it as it was taken at the pub 5 miles from my parents and i used to work there when i was 17/18 and have had some great times there. OOOO excitement must be building for the new bedroom being delivered tomorrow - can't wait to see the photos of your new room.
Bath - hope you're having a lovely time with FIL
Ali - half a day left of work for you before half term - big relax wishes for you for a few weeks!
Well today i've had a CBF day (Thanks Bath for that saying). Still in PJs till lunch and did nothing bar watch tv/bb/play/cuddle/wipe snot from boys. Boys were soooo clingy i couldn't really leave their side and i seriously have not seen this much snot ever - no exaggeration - i must have wiped their noses 100 times between them - they must be dehydrated with that much liquid coming out. i went to the shops looking like a down and out at 4 as we had nothing for tea - at least the kids looked slightly better. bough a hot chuck and cheaty microwave steam veg and some oven chips (so lazy i know) then half way through eating poor Osc had a coughing fit and threw it all up all over himself. he got really upset and was trying to rip his clothes off as he really hated being covered in it but i managed to get them off quite quick and dressed in clean stuff and put him on the sofa to watch tv while Will and i finished - can't say i fancied it much - yuk! Always happens when dh is away! have Oscar in my bed tonight as have had the vapourizer on in our room for Will's cold and i'm sure it will help his cough plus i won't worry so much about him if he's next to me - just hope he doesn't wake in the night again and start talking and wake us all up!
Anyway, better go and attempt an earlish night as i don't know what it has in store for me!
Julie x
Julie, he is into his shows, now we applaud him every time he wears them LOL!
I am so worried about DH - his knee is really sore this morning and he has his beep test at 1.45pm. If he defers or "fails" today because of the pain he has to wait until early next year to re-do this stage of the testing. He is off on a gentle walk around the block ATM but it is such a bummer for him and both of us really. Timing would go so well if he got through this round, because we think his 14 week full time training would be held while I was on mat leave, so childcare would be less of a hassle.
Oh please oh please oh please get better knee!!!!
ETA: I needn't have worried - DH passed the beep test!!
Yeah for Dh passing the Beep test roryrory .
Well the weather up here has gotten better again so we went to the water park which was really nice as kai was to scared of the water so we didnt have to worrie about her going to close, Well that was until the last half hour went with her big brothers help she got over her fear and hoped into the water with him and loved it ( she really would follow him anywhere) so I had to stand in the cold water for the last half hour in which time kai was rather blue.
We went to the beach today but like always it was windy so it never that nice when you get sand in your eyes.
kai is also got the green nose atm and has been waking up every night and as she and dd are in the same room I worrie that she will wake her but so far dd has slepted through.
Maya you always seem so busy I get tied just reading about it. I also feel so lazy like I shoud get out there and do something with myself but went you have been a mum for the last 7yrs I dont know what I want to do or what I want to be and sometimes think maybe Im just too old to try anything now and just get a mum job once kai is at school.
anyway better get the kids fed ( 2min noodles tonight now thats lazy!!!! )

Rory yay for DH passing the beep test, woo hoo.
BBL.
hugs xoxo
Good evening girls :) Just quickly because I don't want to be anti-social with FIL sitting here. Rory: Yay for DH!!! Oh that must be such a relief! How did his knee perform? Did he take pain killers? How is his knee now? Tali: Good to hear Kai dealt with her fear of water... my DD had a similar issue after a few near drowns I REALLY need to familiarise Niall this summer, must be a priority! Maya: We've missed you too! Like Tali said: I'm exhausted just reading about your life ATM. No wonder there have been some small cracks between you and your DP... the stress must be significant. Same always happens to DH and I when things get hectic.... but it's good to know it has passed :) DH and I locked horns too recently but he just came up to me and made a joke wearing a Viking helmet so all must be good in his world. He told me today that he used to do a breakfast radio program called "The Llama Farmers Burn The Toast"... he told me over dinner... i almost lost my mouthful trying to contain a laugh.
It's been good having FIL stay... he has a good sense of (Irish) humour too. Oh and I took Wade to the show this morning... bugger we missed the Rabbit Agility Competition but we had a great go on the "World's Biggest Slide".
Got boys to deal with... but I'm working on RayRay's avatar so i'll get back in here tonight I hope...
Maya - I have missed you! I was wondering where you got to, now I understand why, you are one busy beaver! How nice of your neighbour to lend you her study, hope you find some time to get a bit done. How is your niece, she must be growing up fast? Glad you and DP are all good now, its good to clear the air and get everything out.
Julie - how are your snot monsters today? A day in your Pj's is fun and you are allowed to have a "lazy" day (well not really lazy!).
Rory - how fantastic, well done DH!!! How is his knee after the test?
Tali - I hate the beach on a windy day. The water park sounds like a much better idea. Glad to hear Kai likes the water, esp being in a hot climate. Nice way to cool down. Kids always seem to stay in the water till they are blue or teeth chattering. Love 2 min noodles!
Bath - How was the show? We were going to go this year with Chelsea but DH is working night shift all this week, so definately next year. Did Wade enjoy it? DH in a viking helmet, how funny!!!
Well my bedroom suite and mattress arrived at 9.15am and I couldn't wait to get it together. Chelsea was wonderful keeping Marley amused while I ripped open all the boxes. I took the old mattress out on the deck and the girls just used it like a trampoline! They loved it and spent ages out there. I got the boxes open and it took me so long to put the bed together as it really was a 2 person job. I finally got it together. I had to then iron the new quilt cover and pillow cases and get it all ready. It looks fantastic, I just love it!!! I have uploaded pics on my homepage in the album "New Bedroom". I am totally stuffed now, I don't think I stopped all day. I had to vac up all the mess it made breaking the boxes, put away all the clothes in the new drawers. Finish washing, vac the floors, mop, make dinner! Glad the day is nearly over.
I can't wait to go to bed tonight on my new mattress and I get to sleep in it all by myself since DH is on nightshift - YIPEEE
Mel - your new bedroom looks great - you will sleep well tonight. Marley's looking alll grown up now too bless her - love the one of her eating a bicky - so cute
Rory - congrats to DH passing his beep test - thats great - glad his knee held out.
Bath - glad you're having a nice time with FIL
Tali - love the water park in Cairns - it's great. have some great photos of Osc at just over a year sat in the Lagoon too. Good that Kai has gotte over her fear of water
Amanda - hi
and hi to everyone else, off to bed now, nighty nighty
Julie x
Thanks everyone on the congrats for DH - his knee held out remarkably well. He iced it before and took neurofen JIC. Now he just has the psych test next Wednesday and the firefighter aptitude test on the 6th of October (can you climb a ladder without a fear of heights, can you wear a blacked out facemask and breathing appaatus without getting claustriphobic, etc) and THEN pass the final interview. So he is really progressing through well, but there are still a few hurdles to go.
Maya, I am with Bath - you sure sound damn busy!! How do you find time to study as well??
Tali, 2 min noodles are my fave when DH isn't home for dinner - with tomato sauce and grated cheese - mmmmmm!
Mel, off to check your pics now :)
Good on your DH to pass the Beep test.
My Dh went for an interview last Saturday morning down at the local servo and got the job. He is on trial for 3 months but they have ordered his uniform and everything. He has down one day of training and the manager said to the owner that because he was so quick on picking everything up, he can basically do everything now because he knows what he is doing!
I'm on my way to Albury today shopping with mum, my darling brother's g/f moved into her own place in Albury last week and decided to take my kitchen chairs (that she said I could have because "I'll get new one's when I get my own place") and my TV(which they also said that I could have!), we are going to pick up my brand new 68cm TV from Kmart and Mum's also going to shout me lunch! Tomorrow I'm going to Euroa to prob pick up Tim and Liz and also mow my aunts lawns. Dh still can't see why I do so much for them, which is weird because he turns a blind eye to what his mum does. His mum has now taken DH's sister's 2nd little girl and started looking after her, which means SIL now only has to look after 1 child while my 60 odd yr old MIL looks after 2 children. It's a strange story, so I won't bore you with all the details, but the short story is: When SIL had her 1st child she couldn't look after her, because she had gone off her meds(bipolar) and all she wanted to do was go and party, so MIL took the little girl in and said that when she got her life straightened out she could take her back. She never took her 1st child back, 4 yrs later when she was in a decent realtionship and had straightened herself out to a point, she had another little baby, this one she lavished attention on, made sure she had a home and looked after her really well, her first daughter came to visit but never stayed because she didn't want her to. That relationship broke up and she went off her meds again, but she pulled herself together, found another guy and he moved in. Last year she had another baby, again she lavished attention on the baby, but she had lost her licence she both she and her partner depended on public transport, so she started ringing MIL to pick up the baby so they could go shopping. SIL got her licence back 2 months ago, she now drives to MIL's house to drop of her 2 children so she can do some "gardening", now her 2nd child doesn't want to leave MIL's house. As I said it's involved.
Pat has learnt how to bite if he doesn't get his own way! A quick tap of the hand and it stops him , but he whimpers for a couple of secs and then does it again. He has also become very cheeky and runs away if someone trys to pick him up. He has also started talking and says ' there' if you ask him where someone is, even though they aren't there! LOL\
Better go and get these kids ready to go out.
Hi all, School holidays have finally started for me (HOORAY), I am really looking forward to spending some time with Tori and some time at home (mostly catching up on things that need to be done), but just vegging out as well, like I am today.
Tori I hope is on the mend, she is still coughing, but other than that she is returning to her usual happy self.
Jess- Great news about DH's job. Looks like the move has brought good things into your lives, first a house and now a job for DH.
Rory- Great news for your DH too, now you have probably written about it before but what is a Beep test? Every time I read beep I want to insert a swear word LOL.
How long now until you finish work?
Bath- I hope that you are enjoying FIL's visit. It must be nice for the kids to spend some quality time with him, and for you to have some adult company during the day.
Maya- You do have an intensly busy world dont you. I hope that you are enjoying your Tupperware demonstrating.
Mel- Great job on your room. You are like me, as soon as something new comes into the house I am ripping the box apart trying to put it all together. I should have got you over to paint our nursery, so far it has taken us 6 weeks to do 2 undercoats and a topcoat.
Amanda- I have started calling Tori a snot monster since reading your post. I hope that all yor boys are on the mend.
Tali- I cant wait for the weather here to fine up and warm up so we can get out and about. I havent even been taking Tori to the indoor pool because the change rooms are so freezing that she is usually blue by the time I get her out of the shower and dressed.
Feeling worn out, but I am sure that after my holidays I will feel much more refreshed, enough to get me through my last 4 weeks (which is only 10 school days) of work.
Pete and I had our 2 year wedding aniversary this week, we didnt do anything special, just shared a chinese takeaway and a box of chocolates. You know it is coming up to the time when we would have started to get our BFP's with our Junie Babies, can you believe that was 2 whole years ago.
Jess it sounds like you MIL is a saint for putting up with your SIL's antics!
Ali, the beep test is a shuttle run - you listen to a CD that "beeps" as you run between set points, and as you progress the beeps get closer together so you have to run faster. A "beep" (swear word) test would be much more fun LOL! enjoy your hoildays!!
Hiya Ali :) Oh where is your avatar? LOL I log on every morning to check with hope... I've just sent in rayray's too... I wouldn't be surprised if they turn up at the same time. I hope you have a lovely break. I don't mind school hols except verity keeps telling me she would rather be at school like a broken record but she's at the show with DH ATM so she should be happy about that! She is keen on buying the Dolly showbag... not much i can do even though it wouldn't be my preference. Oh and Mel: the show was great. Wade and I got there very early just after 9am and it was all nice and fresh and clean. The only ride we went on was the super duper slide... he was dead keen on the ROLLERCOASTER! though and after he saw it wouldn't stop asking to go on it. I told him I was too scared but he tried to assured me that he would hold my hand LOL FIL gave him $ for a Thomas Tank Engine showbag so that was nice.
2 years since our BFPs!!!! OOooh how far we have come hey....
ETA: I agree Jess, you do well staying out of it! it's so easy to get drawn into family issues like that!
Rory...MIL sounds like a saint, but she won't fight about the issue with SIL, because the little girls in question might get upset!
Well I picked up my new TV...Its a 68cm Sansui Colour Television...its the first brand new TV I've ever had and I'm so excited about putting it in, DH has just gone around to Mum and Dad's to get a jigsaw to cut the hole a bit bigger, and when he comes home we are setting it up!
Here he comes bbl!
Julie - awesome nights sleep! Marley is growing up, she doesn't look so little anymore. How are the boys, still snotty?
Rory - DH is doing so well, not long to go and I'm sure he'll pass everything else with flying colours. How's his thesis going, has he finished yet?
Ali - enjoy the school holidays and vegging out! Glad to hear Tori is on the mend. Congrats on your 2nd wedding anniversary. Pity I can't hop on a plane and paint your nursery lol! I don't mind painting as I love seeing it finished, its very rewarding. Can't wait to see pics of the finished nursery.
Bath - good idea getting to the show early. They have been saying on the radio that attendances are well down on last year and they may offer discounted tickets this weekend to entice a few more people. A girl at work went on the weekend with her DH and 3 kids and she said it cost nearly $300, and that was only 2 show bags per child. For all of them to go on a ride, it was $35! Getting in the gate $75. Crazy! Wade is so gorgeous, wanting to hold your hand. Maybe he can convince you next time.
Jess - hows the new tellie?
I had the most amazing sleep last night on my new mattress! It was so comfy. Can't wait to get back in it tonight. When I got home, Chelsea told me she had a good day at kinder and that she is getting married!!!! She has a boyfriend she told me and they are getting married. It was so funny. Better start saving lol!!! Marley has started shaking her head everytime I ask her something, usually laughing at the same time. She is such a dag!
Worked today and had a long lunch at the local pub for a farewell. Love the cheap counter meals, good old chicken parmagiana. Got a GF coming for lunch tomorrow with her 3 kids (#4 is due in 3 weeks) so should be a busy day. I have just made Mars Bar slice for after lunch and it has taken all my willpower not to steal a few pieces! It is pouring her at the moment and so windy. I don't think the kids will be playing outside tomorrow.
Night all! :)
Ali - Congrats on your anniversary :) You are part of the growing trend for marriages that are actually lasting! For a while there the stats were not good, but they reckon that in the last few years, the separation and divorce rate is slowing down again. Guess DP and I have to get married to test that one ;)
Jess - that was complicated! Good one on the TV!
Mel - checked out your pics - very nice! I love our bed still - we have a futon base (normal height) with a latex and wool mattress...it's the bees knees. DP didn't have great linen when we met, so within the first few weeks of us being together, I took him linen shopping, but he directed that we were to only get nice stuff, so we did! BUT, we need more...just cos I said so, and I love nice linen... How cute that you'll be a MIL soon;)
Bath - the show! I reckon Oscar MIGHT get something out of it next year, so I'll prime him with local agi shows in the meantime.
Julie - you pics are lovely - it's giving me a hankering!
Tali - that's a gorgeous ticker photo!
Rory - the psych test is the hard bit and you can't really study for it. Suffice to say that they are looking for people who won't put 'I' in 'team'! Beep test over, that's a relief. We do beep tests for our running team training (we don't have to, but we just do) and DP romps it in, pity he isn't interested in career firefighting anymore! Good luck to DH!
Tonight I had a very good party at my SIL's - far, far better than Tuesday's effort. I feel more confident as of tonight, that I can pull off this Tupperware caper!
Things are a little weird with my mum this week after an incident on Monday that didn't even involve me, but she's lashing out at me anyway. Nothing major, just weird. I spoke about it with my counsellor today and we decided that I am pretty much free of my mum's binding guilt trip, my mum knows it and hates it. She'll one day realise that I CHOOSE to maintain a relationship with her, and that I don't do it out of some hold she has over me.
My niece is just cuter than ever. But, really! I'm not just saying that. She is definitely way cuter at 10 months now than my sister ever was as an infant! She is just edible. I have even had the opportunity for cuddles and games because my mum takes Oscar off and I get that time.
Right, I'm off to order some night boosters for our pocket nappies (I'm way over these compostables and I loathe the idea of going back to disposables) before I forget, and then I'm off to bed with my boys, who are very fast asleep. Tomorrow I'm going to try to study, even though I have no babysitter (my mum wants to declutter the house and MIL is off to a family reunion in the country)...so for those of you who asked how I find the time to study...I don't!
Oh how I used to love the melbourne show it was the one thing we got to do as a family, when I was a kid. which when you are one 7 it was amazing we even got there. Its a shame its gotten so expencive now but when show bags are now $ 20 or more its hard not to spend so much, But I found that this year at the cairns show DS was having a really hard time finding a show bag that he wanted to get as they were eaither too young for him or they were too old he wasnt happy as he didnt want to miss out but couldnt find one he was happy with.
mel I have just tied to check out your photos but couldnt find them I am really hopeless at this computer stuff.
Jess- how hard for your mil hope she is coping ok I know my mum loves the grandkids but dont think she could look after them full time.
maya- before you know it the tupperware will become second nature. I have always wanted tupperware as everyone seems to love it but the price always scares me off. but I will get it one day as the cheap stuff always breaks.
bath- my DS also wanted to go on the rollercoast at the cairns show but as I like ride we went on together it was like the mad mouse but worse as the carage that your on also spins. DS loved it. we got a very funny photo of us both on the coaster just as it went down a hill DS looks like he is s**ting himself but said he love it.
Well after a week of school holidays I really need to clean my house so I hope to do that tommorrow but as I really hate cleaning it will more than likely just be a tide up.

I last went to the show a couple of years ago....I think it was 6 yrs actually!
We used to go quite regulary but in the past couple of years we just couldn't find the money to go. As Mel said $300 is quite easy to spend. $75 for a family , but because I have 6 kids I would have to get either Mum or my Aunts to come as well so that would be $150 plus train tickets to come down to Melb. $112, then come the dreaded showbags...$48 for a showbag each, food $100....that's $410 so far!!!!!!!!
Hopefully next year we might be in a better situation about going, so lets see!
DH's job is going well...he gets $18 an hour (weekdays) and $23 an hour (weekends), so thats a bit of extra money that we could do with. He is on a 3 month trial to see if his back holds out, but even though he is sore of a night, he loves it.
My Launch Party for PASH is on the 12th of October and atm I might have my neighbours coming...sad I know but I can only hope more people come.
Better go and see to these kids.
I am extremley excited this evening, I found out today that my GF is preg ( i dont know if you remember me talking about a friend m/c twins a little while ago) well she is 13 weeks pg. That makes both of my oldest and closest friends pg, due 2 days apart. It is realy cool as we all grew up together nd went to high school together, so it is nice to have the next generation of kids all coming at the same time.
That now makes me, my SIL and my 2 friends all due within 3 months of each other. My SIL and I are both having boys, so it will be interesting to see what the other 2 have.
WOW, that is so nice...Congrats to all of you!
Maya - you can't go past good linen. Target had 1000 thread count sheets on sale recently for $99 which is a bargain, they feel so luxurious! Our new mattress is latex/wool and its a King Koil which I found out are totally owned and made in Australia (such a rarity these days!). Sounds like your party yesterday went well, you'll get the hang of it in no time. Great you are having lots of cuddle time with your niece, little ones are so edible!! You can add DH and I to the growing list of lasting marriages (and Rory too), 12 years on 14 October.
Tali - showbags are so expensive now and most are filled with crap! I usually like the magazine ones, at least you get something decent in them. Most of the kids ones have junky stuff and a few lollies. To find the pics, just click on my username next to the avatar, then choose my homepage, it should come up then. Have fun tidying up tomorrow!
Jess - wow, $410+ is an expensive day out! Glad DH is enjoying his job.
Ali - how nice for you all to be pregnant together! Maybe the other 2 might have girls?
Had my GF over for lunch today with her 3 kids and they were all really well behaved (apart from Chelsea pulling most of her clothes out of the wardrobe!). Marley loved playing with Lachlan who is only 4 mths older than her. He had one of his sisters dolls and Marley wanted it, so she followed him around screaming at him, finally he stopped she got up close, screamed louder until it freaked him out so much he dropped it and walked off crying!!!! She is such a bossy thing. My GF is due with bub #4 in a 4 weeks and the baby is still breech. She is starting to worry that she will end up with a c/section but hopefully bub will turn in time. Be very hard looking after 3 kids and a newborn after a c/s. My brother came for dinner tonight and I made sticky chilli chicken, it was delicious. He is so excited as he is going to the Grand Final tomorrow and is a mad Geelong supporter. I really hope they win, otherwise he will be miserable. My brother has gone home, DH is at work so I have a very quiet household. Time for coffee and another piece of Mars Bar slice - mmmmmmm.
Hey girls, just a quick check in before bed - because I have my hypnobirth classes tomorrow and Sunday - I better get some shut eye ;)
Please say hi to Esther for me! I will visit her with Oscar as soon as I eventually make my way to the area :)
You are going to like it just a little bit!! Have a great time!
Having a really quite weekend here. Watched the Cats win yesterday which as I am a melbourne girl had to go for the vic team but my whole family goes for the bomers I think mum would disown me if I said anything else.
The kids have been really well behaved yesterday so lets just hope it continues.
Dh call last night and is getting really s**ty with his job as there are ment to be 3 fitters working the trucks which isnt enough and they want the boss to hire one more but money is more important so they wont anyway they are now down a guy as he has hurt his back and wont be back for atleast 6weeks. so its just the two of them trying to fix whatever brakes ( which is alot ) for 12.5 hrs a night so he is feeling really shaged..
I'm hoping that if they keep this up that he might start to look around for mining job that flys out of melbourne sooner maybe one that has more boys on site..
haven't done much so not much else to say have a great sunday.

Tali - I'm a bit like you, having a very quiet weekend. My brother is a mad, passionate Geelong supporter who was at the game yesterday and I was so happy they won. I was barracking hard in the loungeroom yesterday, Chelsea and Marley got in the act too! Made some choc chip biscuits and hedgehog this weekend and with DH not here, they might last more than 1 day. Hope the kids continue their good behaviour, its so nice when they are like that. That would be good if DH got a new job and you could come to Melb sooner.
Rory - hope you've had fun at hypnobirthing classes, make sure you tell us all about it.
Did everyone watch the grand final? I don't normally like teams to win by too much but it was so fantastic that Geelong won and I'm really glad they did it by so much. My brother was on cloud 9, he rang after the game cheering and yelling! He was going to head down to Geelong today for the family day, would have been really chilly down there.
Hope everyone else is having a nice relaxing Sunday :)
