Hi all, sounds like everyone is good. All good here except i can smell a very pooey baby next to me that i will have to go change - lovely.
I discovered facebook lastnight (yes i know i am very behind the times) so am knackered as i was on it from 7.30pm until 12.50am! So strange seeing all those people from school who i haven't seen for nearly 20 years. I plucked up the courage just to message a girl i'd been good friends with and had a reply which was lovely. can't say i enjoyed school much and i don't think i was a nice person there so won't be contacting many! so glad i've changed (hopefully!).
Went to Tomatoe Lakes yesterday but friend didn't come in the end as one of her boys had a temp and was so clingy, she didn't want to risk passing anything on. i Went anyway as it's only 5 minutes around the corner and is a lovely park with a big lake in the middle that you can walk around then a couple of good play areas. It was lovely weather yesterday so very heavenly.
had playgroup this morning which was nice although Will was so whingey i put him in the pram half way through and he went straight to sleep. which is a bit of a buggr as they normally sleep together when they get home so i have 1 1/2 to 2 hours of peace but not today - just when i could have done with a kip myself! never mind. Poor Oscar got bitten by one the younger boys and it swelled abit - poor chap is in the wars at the mo! Will is emptying the box of 'stored' toys so i can surf on bb and facebook - god i am so sad! Oscar is still asleep but will have to go shopping when he wakes.
Thank crunchie it's friday - i love fridays and then the weekend so i have adult company in the day. tomorrow i think we are going to check out flooring for the house (deep joy with both the kids!) but i'm sure we'll go to a nice park somewhere after.
Mel - forgot to answer your Q about how i see Will's molars - unfortunately about 80% of the time i change his nappies he throws an absolute fit with his head back and mouth open screaming so i get a pretty good look then! i noticed yesterday one had come through on the bottom too so just one more to go for this lot then hopefully a break in the grumps.
Maya - hope you get your assignment done so you can get some well deserved sleep!
Amanda - if you haven't spotted already there is a thread asking for anyone with 4 boys - sorry i'm too thick to do links!
Jaspen/Bath - Will is big on snatching too from Oscar, not sure how to deal with it - i keep giving the stuff back to Oscar but that involves me taking it back off Will which is as bad as snatching so i'm just doing what he does! this parenting lark is such fun!
Hi to Nic, Rory, Ali (probably been in that shower so long now she's wrinkly!) etc - better go and change Sir Stink-alot. Have a great weekend
Julie x

Wow you girls were busy yesterday, I feel like I have missed heaps.
Hi Jaspen I also have a 060606 baby and she too can live up to that date but for me she came at 2345 I was hoping she could have waited a few mins then she could have been on the 7th ( which is my wedding annivery ) but not to be, there should be a club for all the babies born on that date it would be so funny to see them all get together. I have been told by many of my gemmi friends that they are a very loud bunch and always have to win a fight or you can have very quite and layed back ones who wouldnt hurt a fly and that is why they have the scale symbol I have the bosy one.
well we have to go food shopping now have been putting it off for the last 2 days now the house is very bere so will post later on
have a great weekend

Well ladies I am back from my party and I am happy to announce I sold $972 worth of goods.
-
Hi girls, I hope everyone is well and Happy.
Things here have been busy, I am trying really hard to get throgh an extensive list of things while I am on holidays as I can just see time slipping away from us, and the baby being here before we know it.
Mum and I bought the linen for the cot and some material to make some curtains yesterday which i am really happy about, and we managed to get the curtains for Tori's room 3/4 finished, I just have to hem them now when I have put the rail up. So slowly we are getting the kids rooms in order.
In a little while we are off to visit family in the country for Dh's cousins 1st birthday, so we have a pretty big day as it is about an hour and a half each way.
Jess- Congrats on your party sales that is awesome. What is it exactley that you sell?
Julie- Tomato lake has so many memories for me, I grew up within 15 mins of there from the time I was 5, so have seen lots of development to it. I also remember it well as our interschool cross country was run there every year. And luckily I managed to get out of the shower before I got too wrinkly :p
Jaspen- Great to hear from you, I hope that you really enjoyed your trip- I cant beleive that was nearly a year ago, oh my how time flies.
Nic-I hope Nixon is feeling better soon. Dont worry it will be your turn soon enough to have your baby, unfortunatley they come when they are good and ready.
Amanda- Bummer about having to move, I hope they dont make you do it too close to christmas. What is the rental market like over there, in Perth it is absolutley crazy.
Bath- Have fun working on your sis avatar. I cant wait for mine to go up so everyone can see your brilliant work. WOOHOO Just as I put my post in my Avatar popped up, no more waiting.
Anyway I had better go and get myself organised so we can get on the road, because sitting here is actually getting me nowhere fast.
-
Ali - your av looks brilliant!!!! Another great job by Bath. Glad you managed to get some stuff for the kids rooms, and making the curtains would save you a fortune, I cannot sew to save myself! Enjoy the party today.
Jess - you must be a super sales woman! Well done. Do you get to keep it all? Hope so!
Tali - I forgot Kai was born that date too. Would be funny to see all babies born on that date together. I have a gemini baby and she so lives up the description.
Julie - I will have to try to get Marley to throw a tantrum on the change table LOL!!!! It is dangerous work trying to see their teeth, I've had my fingers crunched a few times so I am bit scared to try again!!
Jaspen - you must have been pretty sick? I bet you didn't give two hoots what date it was lol!
DH has taken Chelsea to the shopping centre (who knows what for???) and Marley is sleeping. I've done all my housework so its time to relax for a little while (until Marley wakes up!). Its such a beautiful day outside, sun shining and not much wind. Might have to head outside later and enjoy it.
Have a great Sunday! :)
-
OMG Ali, I love your Av, you sexy woman.
hugs xoxo
-
Yay!!! Ali's avvy is up!!! ooooh i wonder if that means rayray's is too... gonna go check!
ETA: It is!
-
I sell lingerie and adult toys.. plus Bonds gear as well.
I get to keep a percentage of that but every bit helps...I have to sell a min of $1,000 and I get a heap of goodies, so lets hope that I sell some more on Friday.
-
Jess that is a fantastic result - keep it up :)
Bath and Ali - great avatar!!
HIYA!! to everyone else:)
DH passed his firefighting aptitude test so now he is down to the final interview.....sometime between now and December:doh: The waiting is going to be the hard part but the other good news is DH HANDED IN HIS MASTERS!!! Ok, he has one paragraph of the literature review to finish, but he is finally able to take a break without feeling guilty.
Better go - wanna surf a bit before bedtime and my new routine - I promised myself I would go to bed early and get up at 5am for yoga for an hour. Flynn is habitually up at 6am so beating him to it is the only way I can fit it into my day. Wish me luck (and motivation LOL!!)
-
Bath - just checked out rayray's and it looks fantastic.
Rory - well done to DH! Hopefully he doesn't have to wait too long for the interview. I bet he is so relieved to hand in his masters, such a big job too. Did you get up at 5am? If you did, you deserve a big pat on the back! I could never get up at that time lol!
Marley started back at swimming today. It was like she never left! She so loves the water and was the one making the most splashes and absolutely drowning me and anyone else in the way. It was a big of juggle this morning, Marley in at 10am, Chelsea in the creche, then once finished with Marley, get us dressed, drop Marley in the creche, get Chelsea ready for her class at 11am! It was the first time Marley had been to the creche and she loved it. I hope thats a good sign for when she starts creche next year. I was such a proud mum today as Chelsea has gone up a class (now on a Friday morning, so I have to go 2 days a week now), she has done so well this year, doing things she thought she was not able to do. She was very proud of herself too, she got a certificate and a lollypop! Poor Marley was so tired though, she missed her morning sleep and we came home, quick lunch and she went straight off to sleep.
I have made a big lasagne for dinner and Chelsea has a playdate this afternoon so at least dinner is done!
Time for coffee and the last piece of Mars Bar Slice :)
-
oooh Marsbar slice! Did you get the recipe here in the BB cooking thread? When I finish my sister's avvy i might work on upgrading mine... it's looking pretty drab compared to the recent ones i've done LOL and then I'll redo yours Mel... but it is so "you" ;)
-
I posted the recipe last week in rayray's thread titled "no bake cake/slices", I have no idea how to put the link in!!!
It is so easy and divine! I think I have eaten nearly 3/4 of it over the past 2 days LOL!!!
I agree Bath, I don't think it really needs changing I am loving it!!! Maybe your suggestion of making Marley more a toddler? The ones with a colourful background look much better, maybe add some background to yours?
-
Girls, as I suspected I didn't make it up at 5am - Flynnie was teething last night so I lost 1 hour's sleep between 3 and 4am. But he slept til 7am so I got a bit of a lie in before heading off to work.
Will try again tomorrow :)
-
Still no luck at getting up at 5am - sleeping was much more attractive LOL!
Bath, I can be at your place tomorrow after my appointment by about 9-9.30 - ok by you? I will bring us some goodies for morning tea :)
-
So right Rory, sleep is better LOL!!
Where's your av gone? Just noticed it missing????
-
I think I must be pg- LOL- I am so exhausted at the moment that I dont know what to do with myself. I think because I have stopped for school holidays everything has started to catch up with me.
I think Tori is finally back to herself so she is back to sleeping all night through which is making a huge difference.
You girls are a bad influence on me, you always make me want to cook :p I went into the recipe thread and found the one for the no bake malteser slice..... so of course I had to make it this arvo and mmmmmmmmmmmmmm it is yummy.
Anyway I had better go and get myself organised I am off for my anenatal check at the GP this arvo, had my GTT yesterday I forgot how gross it can make you feel, I needed a nap when I got home because I just felt so grotty. Anyway not long to go now and all the pg things will be over with and I have a new baby at home.
-
just a quick drop in - my GF had her baby boy this morning! I got a text message at 6.40...but I didn't hear it, so they called my home phone - turns out she had requested me in the first message, and when they called at 7.30 I got up straight away, had a quick shower, got Oscar up, went round to their place to get their doona (they asked me to get it), got there and ...voila! Baby Charlie had arrived not even within the half hour! She began labour at about 5, so he was a really quick one (her second), which she is relieved about after the first labour she had. I knew she could do it! She was a bit anxious that it would go the same way again, and I dropped in yesterday to give her encouragment and some soothing oil blends. She told me she had been leaking and she wasn't sure about a show. She thought she had days, but I was keeping my plans local, just in case I was on the money with my gut feeling that the baby wasn't going to wait to be induced, should the leaking go on for any longer ;) He was feeding right away, too - a booby gun, just like his big brother!
Anyway, I'm sort of attempting to make this house clean but not having much luck. Got my assignment faxed just after midnight...got two more to go and one's online with a cut off of Friday, so it HAS to be done!
Better go see what this pager is yelling about...
-
Ali - now you are a bad influence on me, I have to make the malteser slice now lol!!!! Will do it tomorrow. That stuff for the GT is worse second time around, you know what to expect. Make sure you get some chill out time while the school holidays are on. Good luck at the docs this arvo
Maya - congrats to your GF, what a great story! Charlie is such a cute boys name. Good luck with Fridays online assignment, not long to go, nearly finished.
Rory - I see your av is back!
Work is nearly over for the day. I started early this morning, so get to leave early and hopefully beat the traffic. Chelsea has her first day at school tomorrow for orientation, she is so excited and so am I! She goes from 9.30-10.30 and she is a bit annoyed she can't wear a uniform lol!
-
Ali I made that malteaser slice a while ago - veeeerrrry tasty!
Mel I am so with you on work nearly being over for the day - bummer for me is I have to do some work from home tomorrow :( This work from home thing is such a drag!
Maya that is great news on your friend's bubba!!
-
Maya: yay! she did it! You knew she could ;) and yes, Charlie is a great name. Have you had a cuddle?
Rory: hey, take your time getting here tomorrow.... Wade's first day back at kinder this term and I might not get that train back... I only have 3 or 4 minutes after dropping him off to catch it back to my station... looking forward to seeing you though! :)
sorry girls... doing final touches to sis's avvy... want to get it finished this afternoon... hi to everyone!
-
Just got back again and Oscar is asleep in the car - he was pinging and his cheek is bright pink...methinks the molar on the other side is coming through with a vengeance, so he has two molars and the two teeth beside his front two coming up all at the same time. Apart from the cheek...who would have known?? He's been a trooper about it or he didn't feel them at all, one or the other!
Have a great meet tomorrow - I"ve got Booby Club once again (no meets over school hols) and I have missed the last few, so I miss the girls!
Ali - I know they say you can't bank your sleep, but I say just sleep anyway, the memory of having done it does wonders when you are out of your head!
I went to see my GF again and she's heading home tonight, where there will be some key players preparing a spread - the neighbours who had her DD1, her other GF and us. I told her that they can go to bed if they think it's too much company and we'll clean up and get the house ready for Charlie's first full day at home. He is very cute! Bath - I haven't cuddled, I was offered but I declined. Other people will probably cuddle, but I figure that one less person to smell will make his adjustment to the world easier for him. There is plenty of time for Charlie cuddles and I think it's important for babies not to be handled for a while. Unfortunately, I couldn't implement this with Oscar because DP didn't want to offend his brother, SIL and niece and nephew...next time will be different ;)
Better go deal with nappies before we head out!
-
Mel, Liz is allowed to wear her uniform to school because it gets them ready to want to wear it. We encourage it but if they don't wear it ,that is ok as well....I'm also going to implement the idea that the Preppies get a hat on behalf of the school, so they get the idea that they have to wear a hat in term 1 and 4...better go Kate goes to Camp today and Dh still isn't back with her lunch!
-
Well DH has gone back to work today and DS is at school so the house seems very quite with only the girls home. we had a great last week of school holidays we went to see surfs up once you got over the docamentry style it was a really good movie DS loved it but DD got board after the first few mins but she always does unless she is watching strawberry shortcake! kai ended up going to sleep but as there were hardly anyone there she got to wonder around near our feet.
Maya how nice for your GF to have friends and neighbours like you, It would be great to know that you can come home and just relax and take in the new bundle of love.
Kai has just started to fake cry it really funny and hard not to laugh at she must of picked up this new skill watching DD anyway she will screw up her face and make this really silly sound ( what she must think sounds like a cry ) and she will open her eyes just a crack too see if anyone if watching like I said quite funny to watch. She has also started to have tantrums if she wants something or is just tied and doesnt know what she want she will stop what she is doing and put her head on the ground and just scream, I am now just trying to leave her there and have told the other two to do the same.
well its her nap time so I better start tapping her

Rory - i worked from home for a little while when I first started maternity leave and I was hopeless! I much prefer actually going into work now. Its too nice outside to be doing too much work!
Maya - I agree with Tali, what lovely friends you are and she is very lucky to have you all. Hope her homecoming is nice and relaxing for her.
Jess - I haven't even organised her school uniform yet!!! I am a bit slow! The uniform shop will be open each day of the orientation so I have time. She has no problem wearing a hat which is good, creche drum it into them which is good, she even wears a hat when she plays outside at home.
Tali - chelsea wanted to see Surfs Up too, did you like it? We get the tantrums too and its hard not to laugh. Marley flaps her arms like wings, screams or grunts and sometimes falls down or lays on the floor!!! Girls and their hissy fits LOL!!!
Well Chelsea's first orientation day went really well. She was very excited until we got into the library, then started to freak out a bit and wouldn't go and sit in the circle. She sat with me for a while, then they had to go up and get their name tag, so she relaxed a bit. They had story telling, games and then they could choose a book to borrow. When we left she went to the principal and said thank you which I thought was lovely. On the way home, she told me how much she enjoyed it and can't wait for the sports day next week.
-
Well I'm still here but still recovering from a very full long weekend of visitors, outings and sick kids.
The oldest is suffering from a cold and ear infection and the youngest excema is driving him crazy in the heat - cause oh how its warmed up up here. Are you thinking its going to be a long hot summer for us northern girls Tali??? I am. It was no where near as hot so early last year.
After a good roll on of housework last week - I have lost all motivation this week.
Rory - working from home is so much harder than it sounds hey!! Not long to go now !!
Tali/mel - the whole tantrum thing is so much fun NOT!!! :)
Mel - sounds like Chelsea had a great day
Jess - hope Kate has fun at camp
Malteser slice - must go find that recipe - can't have a great chocolate recipe out there that I haven't tried LOL!!!
Anyway both boys are awake now so had better dash. Hopefully I'll be back on later
-
Jaspen- hot hot hot thats all I can say about the weather up here much hotter than last year, but last year we had moved over from darwin so didnt feel it as much. but as this dry was so cold I think everyone will feel it this year. where did you go in canada DH really want to get a mining job over there he even wants to get a french CD so he can learn to speak the lingo. I'm scared it will be too cold told him might try for 2yrs and then we would have to come back.
Mel - what a lovely day for Chelsea, May is also in prep next yr because the cut off up here is in july not april like melb dont know what that will mean if we move down next yr I guess she will have to go to kindy instead.
Melbourne girls what is narre warre like as a area and do you know where the good parts are and the good schools as we have been looking on the net but its hard to know when you dont know the area as we dont want to find a house and then find out it is in the "bad" part or has the "bad " school any help would be great I sort off know the area as I use to shop at fountain gate some times but that was many years ago my sisters have told me it has changed heaps, now much bigger. we are going down in jan so we are planing to have a good look around while we are down there. I just thought there has to be a reason why it so cheep!!
http://lilypie.com/pic/071006/RpAH.jpghttp://b2.lilypie.com/jL1pp10/.png
anyway better go as I'm heating up the house trying to cook. Thank God we are renting a house with a pool.
-
plenty schools, close to freeway, close to new casey hospital, closer to beach, close to shops - a real growth area for jobs, too :) typing witjh wriggly boy on lap, gotta go!
-
Tali can't help sorry - I know nothing about that side of the city.
I am absolutely bushed - I did heaps of housework today (house looks great;)) and made fish cakes successfully for the first time and did a mammoth walk to and from mothers group (those who have been to my place know what I mean when I say I walked down to the valley and back - pushing Flynn up the hill knocked me out). Now I am tired and sore and ready for bed - but happy :)
night all
-
Jaspen - we finally had some sun today! I am envious of your girls up in north Qld, I love the hot weather. DH & I were thinking of moving there before we had kids as my BF lives there, still would like to do it maybe one day. If I win the lotto, Noosa here I come! Sorry to hear the kids are not well. Marley had shocking eczema, but I got this fantastic cream called Elicon (on prescription) from the paediatric allergy specialist and she hasn't had a bad outbreak since. I call it the miracle cream! Hope you get your housework mojo back soon lol!
Tali - I have a friend who lives in Narre Warren South and its a relatively new estate and its really nice. It is close to lots of shops, there are heaps of schools in the area and Fountain Gate is huge! Narren Warren North is the dearer part, its the older area and lots of big properties. Berwick has some beautiful estates too but a bit more pricey. It is the highest growing municipality in Melbourne (so I read) with up to 80 families a week moving there. The City of Casey covers a really big area too. It is well worth a look when you come down in Jan. Not sure what happens with kids moving from different states, maybe Ali might know?
Rory - your legs must be stuffed! Walking up all those hills would give you a good workout at the best of times, then you do it with a 10+ kg child in a pram - go girl! Love fish cakes - are they Thai ones? They are yummy. What fish did you use? Hope you sleep well tonight.
DH is going to be busy tomorrow, we have 7 metres of mulch being delivered in the morning so hopefully by the time I get home from work it will be all done. We got our water bill today and I am so proud of us, we have reduced our water consumption by heaps! Bucketing all that water around is paying off!
