Yep, I tend to get one of each. They grow sooo fast! get Chelsea to wear the size 6 on her first day of school and suss out how other girls look in their uniforms. If, like at my Dd's school, other parents are also keen to economise, then you will see a lot of girls in massive dresses too! If however all the girls' dresses seem to fit nicely then I'd suggest buying a second hand dress as well. I usually buy an extra second hand dress for Verity each season. Her school has a wonderful second life uniform shop with lots of second hand dresses at usually 1/3 the price. Thankfully Verity has started to slow down growth-wise. you will find that between 7-11 girls grow soooo fast. Not so bad at Chelsea's age but watch out! Also, with regards school shoes: check out the Airflex brand... they are the best!

Bath, I had thought about second hand ones too, good to have a spare one JIC. I have heard great things about Airflex and they sell them at my local shopping centre. I have no idea what sort to buy her? I am going to a parent information night at the school tomorrow night, so they are supposed to be giving us the uniform list and other requirements. Wow, so many things to think about!

Maybe we should start up a thread in the primary school children's thread in the Education area? I'll share about Airflex... and even my favourite brand of school socks (Red Robin)... I used to be so particular about everything... now I just go through the motions... Verity has to do more each year regarding preparing for school too.

Great idea! I want to have everything "perfect" for her first day. I don't know what good brands are out there, especially in relation to school stuff!

Talking of school reunions I have my 10 year reunion coming up in the next month. I dont know that I will make it though because I wil be Very Very pg by then.

MMMMMMMM donuts, lol! Anytime anyone mentions a food, I feel like I need to have it. Instead I will go into the kitchen and have a piece of fruit, or osmething. I just made a banana and strawberry smoothy and that was pretty nice.

Mel- Thanks for re iterating about seeing a doctor! I did see one and he said to see how i go, if I have any recurring memory loss then I have to go back, but I have remembered everything since then and am feeling pretty good.
DH bought me a puppy today! A purebred Maltese, his name is Bangers and he is absolutely adorable. Shazz bought his brother so both of them are asleep in the kitchen, under the sink atm.

Bath - loving the uniform thread. As BB has alot of teachers on it, hopefully I will getting some good ideas. I liked Tanstars one about teaching them what is for recess and whats for lunch - I could see Chelsea eating the wrong things at the wrong time.

Ali - I wish they were as good as the real deal, I really love donuts. I usually have one when I get to work with my coffee but have been trying to break that trend. I love smoothies and so does Chelsea, we have a milkshake maker that I use and we love strawberry and mango ones. Good on you for having a nice, tasty, healthy snack. Now I know why you've only gained 6kgs, you've been eating so well.

Jess - well done on going to the dr's, we will all stop pestering you now. Love the new puppy's name - Bangers, very cute! You'll be having lots of fun at your place with two new puppies.

Rory and Ali - ooohhhh, the anticipation is delicious! My SIL's sister had a baby girl yesterday - a bit early, but a beautiful girl :) SIL's family is really nice and this sister is particularly nice.
Bath and Mel (like how I'm getting personal's done in two's??) - argh! School! Uniforms! Here I am deciding when to start playgroup!
I went to a playgroup yesterday and really liked it, but it's on Tuesday mornings when we have our girls brekky - and that's kind of like a playgroup, too, just from our friendship group. I'd love to join the Natural Parenting one in Selby, and I'm patient enough to wait on their wait list, being that I'm not desperate to socialise Oscar any more than he already is. I've heard good things about it.
Oscar doesn't like me being on the computer any more, especially now that I don't have to ship him off to a grandparent whilst I study, so I haven't been able to post - but I've been reading!
I have a copy of The Science of Parenting in my hot little hands (courtesy of my ABA group leader, cos it's not in our library yet), and do you think I can just sit and read it? I reckon I've got this SAHM thing all ballsed up - I'm never at home...and when I am, there's no just reading what I want to read (not suggesting that SAHM's just sit and read whatever they like, just that I can hardly call myself a SAHM if I'm out all the time! So I'm doing double time when I eventually get home...sigh).
DP may be able to pursue a career path that he had previously written off due to the prospect of 4 years full time study in the city. There is an accelerated track to what he wants to do, by doing a Cert IV course 6 months full time (then he'd get Austudy and my parenting payment would increase). That chops off 6 months off the degree course and he could potentially get work just from that cert course - not work he'd prefer, but work in the housing industry, so that he might even be able to get credits for that for the degree course in valuations. Most people who do that course end up climbing the corporate ladder so that there is always a shortage of actual valuers for insurance and banks etc. DP just wants to do valuations because it's flexible and he can work from home apart from seeing the property for an hour. The sweet thing is that in rural areas, valuers are like hens' teeth, so the salary could keep a farm ticking over...noice! Anyway, he's got me filling out his application forms and I'll do that once I've hit 'post'. Then I have to organise my Tupp order. I think this might actually be what he wants, seeing as he decided he would really rather not be a paid firefighter and he doesn't want a bar of working on construction sites any more. We'll see. He really hates his current job because the boss is a moron (they often are...in construction, anyway!).
I know I've missed some people, I'm so sorry - I've been organising for my brigade to support White Ribbon Day and I think I"ve got it off the ground now. Next week the brigade will have a fundraising Tupp party and we decided the proceeds will go to WRD, so that's ace.
Ok, best be off - I'm planning to knock over some laundry folding, too, before I go to bed...

Had the parent info night at Chelsea's school today and it went so well. I'm just very excited about it all now and so happy with my choice of school. She is only going to have 18 in her class next year and the prep teacher is just lovely. They have such a wonderful philosophy about teaching the kids I can tell she is really going to love it there and be nurtured and cared for the way I want her to be. Just need to complete all the paperwork now!! Met some lovely mums too and enjoyed a good chat (not like me to enjoy a chat LOL!!!).

Maya - so good to see you back. You have plenty of time to join a playgroup and as you say, Oscar is pretty well socialised with other kids. The one in Selby must be pretty good to have a waiting list. Hope you do find some time to read your book, I do my reading in bed when DH is at work. Not much time for it when kids are up and about. How exciting that DH has found something he wants to do, hope it all comes good for him. My friend is a valuer and she has some excellent contacts (BIL was going to pursue it but went back to real estate), so let me know if he's interested and you are so right, they are very rare at the moment and can earn some good $. Excellent idea about White Ribbon Day too.

Bath I have a midwives appointment at 9.15am - will you be around this morning, say at 10am - could drop by for a cuppa sans Flynnie!!

Well, Kate and Tim are on their way to the Melbourne Zoo today with the school and I'm just going to bum around until 11, when I head to Euroa with the other children. Electrician is coming about lunchtime so no idea when I'll be heading home yet.
Been having some trouble with a person harassing Shazz but have spoken to L***(her brother) and explained the situation and that seems to have calmed her down a bit. Kate's relationship with L*** is getting better, he txts her every afternoon to see how her day was and if we have time, we try to ring him every morning so she can say good morning.
Dh is working today, so he left early to get to work so he can get all the paperwork done before the rush start.
The puppies( yes plural!) are doing well. Shazz bought his brother so now we have two pups living with us. Tax and Bangers!
OK, better go and get the kids ready. All the housework has been done and I will come home to a clean house!

Rory- I feel for you hun, it so hard at this time so close to your due date and not been able to sleep I always say thats why God made us with extra small bladders in the latter parts of pg so that we can get use to waking up for a crying baby. not long to go now and you will have a wonderful new baby to cuddle. fingers crossed for saturday I hope you get to watch all of the show.

Jess- dont know how you are doing two puppies at once glad it you and not me lol not that I'm much better we got our two dogs a mth apart but that was BC dont know if I could cope now..

Well we went to DS school disco last night and it was the 1st disco that he went to without hanging around me like a sticky fly. He went of and played with him mates. I dont know if it was because DH was there this time or that he found his friends from class, but whatever the reason I was soooo happy to see my shy boy becoming more conferdent ( sorry cant spell) and leaving my side.yippppy. shame cant be said for mayleaka she was a royal pain in the bum, wouldnt dance even with her daddy just sat around with a sad face. Cant have it all I guess.
DH got his nose out of joint just a little bit because one of the dad's from DS class was talking to me and he thought that this said dad couldnt stop looking at my chest but like I said to him I was sitting and he was standing so of course it would look like that, if he was so worried then he should have come over and sat next to me and started talking to the man. lol they can be so silly some times

well hope everyone has a good weekend, we are going to put up the tree this weekend gee I wish I could get a real one they at least smell like christmas next year is what I keep telling myself.

Ha! Tali! Silly men! It wouldn't worry DP, who only ever seems to take notice of me when someone else says something about how I'm looking. He takes it for granted that I would never have anyone else (and that's an accurate assumption, actually!), so it puts him in the comfort zone of not even bothering to appeal to me anymore, or ever worrying that I'll go off with someone else...hmph!
Rory - At least you don't have to go through a whole summer of this weather being pregnant - it was bad enough being in the first and second trimesters with the heat we had back then.
Bath - with my foray cut short, I'm happily 'back' here with people who think I'm the whacko LOL! I don't think I've ever felt so conventional in my life...
Nic - how are you getting on with your feeding? Still winning?
Oscar is outside in the nude draping dog leashes on the dogs - they've learned not to get too excited about seeing the leash when Oscar has them, cos all he does is drag them along the floor, waving them at the dogs to give them false hope of a walk. Sadly, they haven't been walking since we were camping, and at least they get human interaction with us.
Oscar has just done a poo on the deck and Coco has helped clean it up...ewwwwwww. Still, it's far less work than when he's got nappies on!

Can't stay but: Rory! Oh no! I have only just turned on the 'pute now :( missed seeing your message! Drats, I got all keen and cleaned the house this morning 'cos verity is home (report writing day at her school) and she was keeping Wade entertained all morning... just dropped him off at Kinder... got somethings to do before i collect him so gotta dash! Mel- oh thats great yor v happy with the school you have chose for Chelsea sounds really good.

Had a fun and full on couple of days. my gf from melb came up with her 13m twin girls! it was so great to see them, they are at the age that Nixon was when we all seen each other last. amazing how fast hey grow! Anyway so between the 4 of them it was a mad house!

bf- happy to report all is still going well! Im using a nipple sheild, but dont even care he is getting the boob so happy with that. However i suspect another reflux baby on my hands. he is showing all the same signs as Nixon did. took him to gp this week who didnt wanna perscribe anything just yet but i know its reflux ive been down this rd before.
MCHN came again today and was so happy when i told her he was feeding! He lost 70g since last week so maybe a combo of just bf and the spewiness has contributed to that.
He is STILL a bit jaundice and im just a bit worried that its lingered on. so many ppl have checked and said yes he is a little but not too bad, but i would have tought after 5weeks it should be gone??

Tounge tie- gp agreed its slightly but not willing to do anything about it. Maya your right about having to shop around" he rekons they dont usually do it till later. i told him i know babies who have had it done early on but he told me to see my paed. well that paed didnt think anything either so dunno if i should persue anymore or not seings he is now feeding ok?

had the most difficult day today just going to the park! Nixon kept running off way to fr, trying to chase after him whilst feeding Tyron, it was hot nd sticky and flies galore, Nixon pooed, then he got a fat lip from trying to climb up the slipery dip, then Tyron wouldnt let me put him down, whilst Nixon tumbled down a steep hill and banged his head on the slip dip again so HOME we went lol!
but even once getting home it was full on until finaly at 3pm Tyron was content and i could have lunch.. ahh the joys.....

Rory - at least it must be nice and peaceful when you are up? The hot weather prob isn't helping either. Hope you manage ok next week when the scorcher days hit. Stay indoors and keep cool.

Jess - bet the kids have a ball at the zoo, its so fantastic now since they have done the renovations. Thats excellent news about Kate and her dad, I hope it continues to get better for both of them. You must have the patience of a saint to have 2 puppies + 6 kids! Good luck.

Tali - how funny, a school disco already! Did anyone dance? Thats so good that he is getting more confident and able to hang out with his friends. He prob knew you weren't far away if he needed you. Men are always jealous, funny how they freak out about things like that. Men can chat to women and vice versa without any funny business going on. He might be more sensitive than most being away alot.

Maya - you always have some very funny poo stories lol!!!! Coco might not have the nicest smelling breath for a while!

Nic - wow, having 4 kids in the house would have been fun. Bet they had a ball. Great news that the bf is still going well. At least with the reflux, you have been there before and know what to do. Don't know much about jaundice, did you ask your gp? Maybe you should try another paed regarding the tongue tie? Someone should listen to you. Your park day sounds like hard work, usually when one thing goes wrong, it all goes downhill from there. I am sure you next visit won't be so action packed!

Its been a very hot day today, hotter than expected. My air con is not working but hopefully the guy will be here Monday to fix it just in time for the real hot days. I have been spoilt for too long and hated not having it on today. The house is still very stuffy. We have lots of windows in the back of the house so it heats up pretty quickly. Was so unmotivated today so didn't do too much, Chelsea had swimming and that was it. Had to go shopping tonight for a b'day present as Chelsea has a party to go to tomorrow morning at a farm so that should be fun. Marley has been enjoying nudie time today and is obsessed with her belly and her belly button! She just wanders around patting it, looks very funny!

Maya - Thank God my dogs arn't the only gross ones around!! I think its one of their fav treats lol ok before I write this I warn you it may be too much info for those who dont have dogs...

I have a friend who was tring to train her DD as she was 3 and still doing poo's in her undies, anyway she was outside playing when she started to cry and scream so my gf went over to see what the problem was to find her dog licking her dd's bum as the poo came out her poor little girl was so grossed out and upset that she never poo her pants again, so there is always a bright side to the poo outside it could train your kids lol.

Mel- hope your air con works soon it the busyest time up here for fridgies they are alway run of there feet having to fix the air cons that haven't been turned on for 9mths. Have you checked the filter(sp?) as if blocked with dust that will stop it working and check the unit on the outside as they can get wasp nests in the back plus dirt so it might just need a hose out.

Nic - you made me tied just hearing about your day at the park makes you wonder why you both sometimes it will get better you just have too wait untill they are a little bit older. All my children have had jaundice but only my son was put under the lights at day 4 the girls just were sleepy babies and needed a little more sun, But I would have thought it should have cleared up by now, so maybe ask someone.

Well we are off to the shops today to get some christmas lights for the tree realised last night that we only have some for outside and DH didn't want to rap that many around the tree. will take a photo when the kids have finish the decorating today.

Hun if you are worried tell your GP that you want a LFT blood test done on Tyron. It might show that his blood levels are just a touch down and he might need a top up transfusion.

Nic - see if you can find a female GP who can do the snip for you. Maybe it's a guy thing - have never breastfed and will never have to weigh up the 'cons' of the snip compared to the pro's of it. There ARE no cons, by the way - there is no nerve reception there, there is a TINY bit of blood at this age and the con of NOT doing it is that even a slight TT can cause speech impediments later that require speech therapy later on!! People who are against TT snips at this age are either suckers for punishment or ill-informed. MEN don't have to think about the nipple damage and that effing horrible 'pinching' feeling during just about every feed. The two GP's I approached last year were both female, just that one was local and ended up being able to do it two days sooner than the other. I would suggest calling a women's hospital or women's health centre - someone there will be able to do it, surely. I was told Oscar had only a slight TT, and it was on that basis that I was willing to get the snip done for him. As it turns out, by the time the GP saw it, she said it was not a 'slight' one and she would have snipped it on day one. So, you never know! It could mean you could stop using the nipple shields (which, if you need them is perfectly according to me, and if you are able to simplify things further, then that's better). So, take home message: keep looking, sweetheart!

eeish... um i'm not sure what to say..... maybe nothing is best at this point in time.

DH took Tyron up to the docs on Sat, they took a heel ***** and he said they would get the results in the evening and if it was of concern doc would ring. it was a diff doc to the one i have seen but at the same surgery dh asked about TT and he too wasnt willing to d anything, so maybe your right Maya i need to find a female. I also want some meds for reflux and annoyed none of them want to prescribe anything. he's my son and i know whats wrong with him!!

Tali - how does the tree look? I got DH to take the filter out of the air con and clean it as well as the outdoor fan part. It all looks ok, thanks for the suggestion. One of our plumber friends (who can't fix refrigerated systems, damn it!) said it might need re-gasing. Hope the guy turns up tomorrow, its going to be 37!!!

Nic - keep hunting, I'm sure you will find an understand female gp who will listen to you. My GF is having the same trouble with getting reflux meds, they are very reluctant to prescribe them and she has been back and forth for ages trying to get something more substantial than the stuff she has been using. Maybe a new gp is a good idea? Good luck and keep pushing!

Very busy weekend. Chelsea had a party at farm on Saturday, it was fantastic and she had her first pony ride! I thought she would be scared but she was beaming from ear to ear while on the cute little pony. We went on a train and nearly got attacked by a nasty flock of geese (creepy things they are!). Then we had a housewarming later that day. Kids were so good, esp Marley. She had a ball on the trampoline with either DH or I holding her or standing very close. Then she loved playing in the ice bucket and came out with the coldest hands lol! It was such a mild night out, great night for a party. Today we just took it easy as both kids were still a bit tired, even though it wasn't a really late night.

Just made a yummy batch of bikkies as my GF is coming over tomorrow for lunch. Hope the Melb girls stay cool tomorrow, its going to be a scorcher! And pray that the air con man comes!!!!

Ladies, I feel like it is a good time for me to step away for a while. Things are not around here atm and ppl are starting to crack. I love you all, but after a post was put in without my permission, I feel like my safety area has been breached.

Things here are good, I am so glad that I am not working anymore, and trying to keep myself busy (without over doing it) so that time ticks by not to slowly. I am getting really anxious to meet my little man, see what he look like etc etc, but I know that all in good time. I am trying hard to spend lots and lots of quality time with Tori, and she is doing really well other than cutting teeth.

Bath- You have inspired me to start getting my christmas cooking ready, I have my fruit soaking in brandy for my Chrissy cake, and I am starting to collect the ingredients for goodies for my christmas hampers, there are some fabulous recipes in the recipes thread for things to put in there.

I got my first smile from Tyron today!! he was very cute and gooing and gahing at me! hasnt happened again since thismorning but he has been trying very hard to! now the hard task of trying to get a pic of it!

And your belly shot - you look amazing! I think I was that big at 20 weeks with Marley!!!!

Bath - good idea going to the movies. I heard Elizabeth hasn't been getting such good reviews. Did you see the first one? Air con man was supposed to come tomorrow (after the heat wave!) but rang DH and said he could come today. Luckily BIL was available to come over and let him in. Its all fixed, only took him 30 mins. Just in time for the heat on Sunday/Monday. It was horrid in here yesterday, so stuffy. I couldn't live without my air con! Thankfully I have my tower on the desk where little fingers cannot reach lol!!! I'm sure she'll work out how one day.

Well finally I have heard another word from Marley. She can say "cheese" but it comes out more like "sheeze"! She then goes to the fridge and just stands there waiting for me to get the cheese slices out. She is addicted to them. So glad I was at work today, it was nearly 30 by the time I got to work at 8.30am. Its raining nicely outside and so cool. I have all the windows and doors open and a beautiful breeze is blowing. Nice that we have a cool day tomorrw.

Well girls I'm sorry I've not been online alot lately, but I will be offline for who knows how long, until the new house gets internet connection (long story). So hope to be back soon, will miss you all. See you on the flip side.

Blurgh - I've had Oscar's gastro :( I took him to the doctor yesterday and whilst we were waiting (for AGES), I started to feel worse and worse until I could barely move to contain Oscar (who, by the time the doc cam out, was sitting by himself in a chair, he must have understood my situation cos he's never that compliant!). In the doc's office I thought I was going to faint or throw up. I did neither, but lay on the bed there for a bit and called my dad to collect us and drive us home (mercifully, he was in the area, as MIL was too far away, so now I feel guilty that I didn't try calling my dad before MIL! I didn't tell my dad that I called MIL first, though...I think I'm rambling...). DP didn't respond to my text asking him to leave work to help me with Oscar and even when I called him from bed, when my dad left, he said he'd be leaving work soon (he had been picked up for work that day and I was hoping he could take a cab home or something). 2 hours later he came home, smelling of beer - I guess the carload must have had a discussion and decided that a trip home had to involve a pub stop and that I could wait. Luckily for all of them Oscar had fallen asleep with me and woke up just as DP walked through the door. I was NOT impressed. But he knows this and if he reads this then it's nothing new. Oh, and he's home today to help me with Oscar :) Anyway, this has really stuffed up my week, I've got a big party on tomorrow night at the fire brigade and I just can't get to my manager's place to organise prize draws etc, it's all going to have to be last minute tomorrow!
Anyway, Ali, can't believe it's 35 weeks already! Must check out your pics, too.
Bath - I had been wanting to see that film, disappointing that it doesn't have rave reviews...oh, well, I'll find some time to see it if you say it was watchable!

Mel - if we lived off the mountain, I'd have aircon for sure, too! I"m so glad I got the AC fixed in my car last summer, for Oscar's sake. I'm a 'windows down' driver, but I can't impose that on Oscar on the really hot days if there's an AC button I can press.

Well our tree is up and the kids have done a really good job! haven't posted any photos yet as I need to charge the batterys but will take some tonight when DS is home. Maya Hope you are feeling better soon. arnt men hopeless I bet you when he gets the bug ( which he will if its in the house) he will be a bigger baby than Oscar maybe you should go to the pub for an hour when he gets sick and leave him to deal with oscar aswell, but no you know they wouldnt cope plus you couldnt be that mean to your son lol

Nic - Marley's dairy allergy has gone, thankfully! She was retested at 13mths and it had gone, so she can eat normal dairy now. She certainly loves it, she ate 3 cheese slices today! She still has an allergy to eggs, which gets retested when she's 2. She also is highly allergic to cashews, but we are lucky as cashews are in many things as they are too expensive, we just ensure we have no cashews in the house.

Tali - funny how they always blame the younger one LOL!!!! But even funnier that its their presents with the holes in them.

Maya - not the dreaded gastro bug! My brother had it last week and then both his kids got it and last of all his wife got it. Hope you and Oscar are feeling better today and you get your party stuff sorted. Big naughty to DH for heading to the pub! I'm sure he won't be doing that again. I don't mind the heat, but when it gets to ridiculously high temps like Monday and Tuesday, its just too hot. At least the mountain stays relatively cool. Get well soon.

It has been raining all day and its so nice to have it cool again. Only raced up the shop earlier to get lunch and it was pouring. My garden is loving it. MIL is taking me to the David Jones VIP night tonight, so hopefully I might find some bargains. Don't have much xmas shopping to do so might have to buy some things for myself.

WOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!! I have finally got the top score for Mahjong (650), I have been trying to beat Yael's score for ages and I finally did it. Now where will the fun be LOL!!!!!

had a nice Perth BB meet today. Also met another junie - Gabysmum (hi! again) which was lovely, Alex is so tall - taller than Oscar!!! It was Debbies birthday so e had some nice cake and were in a park only 5 minutes away from my house so a nice easy meet for me.

had a rough week last week so didn't post in here so i wouldn't moan. having a good week this week so ok to post!! House is coming along in leaps and bounds and we should be at inspection stage within a few weeks. have found out the silly tilers have tiled the WC with the wrong tiles and grouted the laundry with the wrong colour grout so they are back this weekend to sort it all out - muppets!

Feeling a little seedy today as had a friend over last night and ended up having 4 glasses of wine - far more than i would normally have so was abit 'dry' this morning!

I am reading all your posts but just not posting myself. Had a bit of a pg meltdown today over silly things that I "know" to expect (ie: feeling bad that Flynn will feel neglected when bub arrives, worrying about what we will do for dinner when bub arrives and how I will juggle two bubs, stressing I haven't got my list of stuff to do done, the usual :redface:) DH in his characteristic way said "stop worrying, think of the poisitives". He is so absolutely supportively logical that it is hard to continue to be irrational and emotional IYKWIM? Sometimes, it is like the Rolling Stones' song : I can't always get what I want, but if I try sometimes, I get what I need. He is so good for me :)

better go - off to eat ice cream :)

I got excited when I realised you had posted in both this and your pg thread I thought you might have baby roryrory on the way. I know its hard to believe but you will be able to do both I alway wonder with each baby how could I possaibly (sp?) love another child as much as the ones I have but your heart has the amazing abillity to love so much. its the same when we think how will I cope the simple anwser is we just do and in a few mths you want remember what it was like to have just one baby. just like you wouldnt now know what you did before you had Flynn!! chin up you will be able to do this and flynn will be just fine, when they are older they will thank-you for having then so close as this way they will be close in age and in friendship. Out of all my sibs and I have a few I am closest to my sister who is only 20mths younger we shared a room by choice until I was 13. we always share secects and laughs I have always loved that my mum had us this close as the others who are further apart arnt as close as we are. Mum aways call us her twin girls and thats how we liked it.
