Sun's out up here!! Not sure for how long, though...hope it doesn't bucket down too much in town for Ali - would be nice to take in the gardens and surrounds.
Mel - yeah, my sister went a few times after the fire, they were her Goo days when she liked to depress herself with Nine Inch Nails etc! I am SO heartened to hear you were there pre-those days...I can breathe easy again!
Bugger about Knox - I got there probably about 12, if not a little before and was there till after 2pm (for an hour's worth of tasks, tops!). Actually, yeah, Lulu isn't that far from you now that I think on it - didn't even occur to me! I was dropping off a bag of things and took the scenic route to Knox from my place - my mind is good when it's focussed on one thing, and my bigger picture has eroded somewhat the closer I get to the birth...groan. Oscar would have jumped in your pool, anyway Hell, I might have!
Belly cast went well! DP took great pride in his work (he did the other week, but materials were failing us!) and treated the cast lovingly afterwards, was very nice to see He's got ideas on how to finish the cast part before we polish it up and decorate it somehow. I like the idea of painting it, then cutting out some shapes in it before varnishing and hanging as a wall light that we can leave on at night. No idea what I'll paint on it - tempted to get it painted by an artist I saw at the Kallista market on Sat who does beautiful oils of things like fairies and fairy toadstools, dragons, rabbits and other fantasy-based things. Really beautiful work. Or I might work on my own dragon that remains unfinished (when BiL returns my easel) and wait till I produce something worthy of hanging (even in the loo!!) before taking to the cast myself. I've got time once it's all set and prepped.
I've been experiencing something opposite from anecdote with Oscar - he has been very close to me and quite intuitive the closer we get to the birth. Just about everyone I know had their older kids go a bit distant from them leading up to the birth of the next child. Not sure what to put it down to, or what combination of things, but I'm so loved up with this kid and I'm getting random "I love you", arms around my neck, when he holds my hand whilst walking he'll stroke it with the other hand (I've do this to him, too, though) and it's just been really lovely. All I can hope is that it stays that way after the baby gets here!
OK, better get going and to the library with my overdue books (wonder if they'll let me off the fine if I say my due date is today???).
Who's doing kinder next year? I'm not keen to send Osc to 3yo kinds unless it's within the creche program in semester 2.
Have a great day, Bath and Ali!

Bath have a great time with Ali, cheer on the storm for me if you she them....

cant believe I was living in Melb for a year and didnt get to meet any of you, thems the breaks I guess.... Maybe next time I come down for a visit....

Maya I cant believe is your due day.... cant wait for the BA... * Labour vibes*

Mel cant say I ever went to stylus I think it was a bit before my time, but I remember my sisters going all the time.... It was the highlight of their weekend...

AFM ... we went up to Cairns for the week end which was both good and bad.... Good coz I got to see all my friends again but bad coz we had to come back here Mil was really really good.... I was so shocked I was feeling sick about having to stay with her, but in the end she was great, really good with all the winkies not just with Zay... so that makes thing so much better, just hope she stays this way when we do get to move back...

I am almost ready to stop TTC a 4th, I am begining to think that 3 isnt so bad, as much as I love babies and would love to have one, our family is happy right now, bhl doesnt really want one I know this he has told me, and is only going alone with this as its what I want... I dont know if the feeling of loving another baby will ever go completly so I will never say never, at the end of the day i am only 30 so still have plenty of time if I change my mined... but for now I think I might stop TTC... Maybe I need to get myself out there and find work once Kai is at school...

Maya - we probably just missed each other. Marley would have loved to see Oscar. I always say I am running it to get something and end up spending hours there!!! It's a trap! You are right, Oscar might have enjoyed a dip yesterday lol!!! My friend in Kallista did a mosaic course and did a torso from a mannequin - it looks amazing. She used some glass and some really vibrant coloured crystals and beads. It takes pride of place under her pergola outside. Maybe you could mosaic it! Isn't it funny that any test piece of art or something you are not 100% happy with end up on the wall in the loo. Who knows how Oscar will react when the new bub comes for now enjoying being loved up by that cute little man! Good luck at the library, surely they have to cut you some slack, give them a few winces while you are standing at the counter, make them think you are in labour LOL! Not doing kinder next year, can't with work. They offer kinder the days I work so its not really cost effective for me. Might look at it for 2011 and maybe move my days around but for the time being I am really happy with her doing the kinder program at creche.

Tali - you meet Maya and I at Knox. You were there with DH and the kids and we had coffee at Gloria Jeans. Chelsea loved running around with May. Forgotten us already Nice to hear your MIL is being nice to you, and so she should! Maybe she realises that she misses her grandkids? I have slowly started to let go of the idea of having any more kids and the more time passes, the better I am feeling about it. I don't think I will ever lose the feeling of wanting to hold that newborn baby, the smell, the cuddles, the nightfeeds etc. But then I think of how enjoyable life is with my girls being older and the feeling subsides. Who knows, maybe it stays with us always? I might have to get my newborn fix from you Maya LOL!!!

Tali- your right what u say you are only 30 and still have quiet a few years to go down this path again if its not right now. i keep saying i want a 3rd and dh says it sometimes but if it wasnt for me wanting a 3rd he would be right with 2. But knowing age is on my side atm im not in a rush to have another.

ive uploaded some pics on FB we had a great w/e just gone. birthdays galore. Sat was MIL and had lunch and cake. I spent the other hrs of the sat icing 2 cakes. 1 for dh who's bday was yesterday the 5th and 1 for Tyron because we went to the zig zag railway in the blue mountains yesterday (his bday is not for another 8days)

*flopping into chair after hectic morning*

Meetup with Ali was great! We did the usual Junie thing of meeting under the big clock at MC then grabbing a coffee, snack and baby chinos... ventured over into Borders (I bought her a copy of The Declaration for the flight home) and then over to Myer to play with the trains and check out the Lego. Back to MC for sushi handrolls then our little people started to show signs of tiredness and my ticket was about to expire so we called it a day but all that time we didn't stop chatting Hope she has a good flight home with her family (I only met Tori). Niall really seemed to enjoy her company too as the photos I took show. Thanks again Ali I look forward to catching up again! (photos in FaceBook)

This morning I had to get Wade ready for his first swimming lesson with his school... then had to dash over to my GP's for a Swine Flu vaccination... I don't generally have the seasonal flu shot bug last time I felt quite vulnerable now that I have 2 kids in school... nearly a dozen girls in Verity's grade contracted it apparently last time it was around... so I decided to get the shot. Then I had a bit of a hike home... exhausted... think i might have a doze in the lounge as Niall watches an episode of Madeleine (his new favourite DVD).

    Maybe back later....

    Hi ladies,

We arrived safely home from Melbourne this morning, happy but totally exhausted- and adjusting to the time difference hasnt been that easy- both the kids flaked out just after 10am perth time as we had been up since 1am (perth time).
It was fantastic to meet Bath & Niall yesterday, it was nice to see all the things you guys talk about on your normal Junie meet up adventures- it was a shame I didnt get to meet everyone else, I will have to be more organised next time we visit and arrange a catch up before hand. We will definatly be back, hopefully towards the end of next year, as there was still so much we wanted to see and do, but just didnt manage to get to.

Anyway I have suitcases of washing and unpack to deal with- so best get on with it.

Nic - cakes look awesome! You are very clever.

Bath - yes checked out the pics and was really disappointed I couldn't come. Definitely next time, even if I have to take the day off.

Ali - sorry I missed the catch up. Sounds like you and Bath had a great time though. Time difference must be hard, esp for the kids. Hope you managed to get through the mountain of washing (I hate unpacking!!). Have you started your book yet? It's fantastic, I couldn't put it down. Still have to get the sequel which sounds even better.

Maya - I think we should start some guesses on what you are having, weight etc. Might pass the time for you lol!

My guess is a girl, born Wed 14th (my wedding anniversary and Ty's birthday too!!!) in the wee hours of the morning (4.30am), 8lb 3oz.

Julian has said that it's alright to have the baby on his birthday the 15th, he doesn't mind at all.

Good luck Maya and sending out positive vibes to you and bubs.

Oh and for what it's worth I think it's a boy as well, even though I want to say pink, I believe it's blue.

    Happy Birthday to Julian!!
and happy birthday to my big 2yr old boy Tyron for yesterday! The poor thing had to go to the docs on his bday and has tonsilitis, ear infection and gunky eye..... considering all that you wouldnt even know he was sick he is such a trooper. it was only cause tues night he had a bit of a temp and i got a looksi in his mouth and was horrified when i seen his tonsils were huge and red and pussy.

have any of your 3yr olds put on an injury yet?? Not sure what happened with nixon but this wood peic of his door fell down and after that nixon stopped using his left arm... he wasnt complaining that it was sore anything but would not use it, i was trying all sorts of things and gave him a lolly pop and asked him to take it with that hand, he picked up his left hand with his right.....
so i took him to the doctors, hesaid his shoulders felt good, had good circulation, seen him slightly move his fingers so didnt think anywhere was broken..... all night still wouldnt use it but i did catch him in the shower pick up this little cup with his left and he looked at me and put it down........

when he went to bed i told him the majic fairy was coming to wave her wand over Nixon's arm and fix it.... he woke through the night saying "my hand" so i thought for sure we would be back at the docs, then when we got up and started doing Tyrons presents it was majically fixed!! he said "the fairy came and fixed my hand" "my hand is working" and has been fine ever since!!

Maya - im gonna say ub will arrive in the wee hours of Sunday morning 18/10/09 say 346am and weighing 8lb 4oz

Happy Birthday to our Junies' little brothers this week!!
Still no go - thought it would happen yesterday after 3 hours of dilating...ah, well, nothing for it except to head out today to Baby Bunting (Oscar's car seat) with the family because when we thought it was go time DP didn't go to work...and started his leave, doh! Will contemplate acupuncture for tomorrow (don't have to wait till creche day if DP is home and now MiL is home from holidays!). I'm a bit dejected now after yesterday's hopefulness! I didn't post about it anywhere else, though and I only told the midwife and GF who's attending the birth...so us two went to the movies, instead
Nic - Oscar has only 'put on' injury insofar as going out in sympathy with me for my pelvis, and it's better as soon as he has his own version of my thigh pillow. Yesterday I thought he was doing the same with his belly cos he kept saying it was sore...only, I had NEVER said my belly was sore, I was just breathing peacefully through the tightenings! Turns out, by evening, he went for a poo and it seemed as if his belly HAD been dealing with something. He's very creative, so I guess it's only a matter of time before he pulls a Nixon! Had to chuckle, though, reading about the fairy
More news when this baby decides we're worthy of meeting...

Thanks girls, it's been so wonderful to read everyone's messages here, in the BA (my goodness, Bath, I got teary!!) and on FB (I haven't made any announcements there, and probably won't till Sunday - don't know why, but decided to set some limits on that platform).
I reckon Tali was on the money! I sure as hell didn't want to wait till tonight, and turns out I didn't have to.
Tallarah is a quiet little being...and wouldn't she want to be? There is no point trying to compete with the likes of her big brother, she can just be herself I have my work cut out for me - raising a boy and now a girl to be feminists
And, yes, I was thinking today that she DID come on Julian's birthday, after all!
Birth story coming soon - shouldn't be too long a story!
