Rory - now that's my kind of job!!! What a great offer, what other companies to they own? I find Jay's Jay's a bit on the teeny bopper side but Just Jeans is great. When's your big shopping expedition?? I bet you can wear jeans to work.

Tali - I am loving Underbelly, very raunchy though more so than the last one. It is a bit slow but I think there is more to be told. They said that they are starting a 3rd series which will be about the mid 80's to early 90's, Walsh Street shootings etc. Selby is beautiful. Stay positive, good things come to good people. Fingers crossed for you.

Amanda - wow, can't believe Julian is 4 months old already! Hope his cold gets better soon, the first one is always awful. That's great that Cody is TT, I need all you girls down at my place and get Marley sorted out!

Dee - so sorry babe! That is just awful and to just expect you to up and go is extremely heartless. If anyone can get back on track its you guys - stick together and stay positive.

Finally let DH get Foxtel after years of nagging. We've had it a week and I am really loving it!! Found lots of good shows esp the English ones on house renovations etc. The health channel is pretty good too. So it might be a good thing after all but not letting DH know that yet ;)

Better pull my finger out and get back to work!

TT - Oscar has recovered from his setback, that I'm sure was from insecurity over the comings and goings with fire activity. We persevered and kept talking about fires and firefighting and fire trucks (and helitankers!) and now he's much more settled and conversant about fire brigade things. He is, once again, going to whole night without needing the potty and coming in to BF a few times after midnight till the morning, which is lovely.

I was a very lucky recipient of a RAK recently and Bath has come good again with a new avvy, sans flames this time (don't need any more than real life flames ATM!).
I wanted you girls to know first, before you start seeing my name pop up in other threads, that I'm brewing another kidlet and I'm about 8 weeks now. So far, so good. I won't make a BB announcement, I'll just be joining preggers threads and the homebirth discussions from here on in. I haven't really processed it yet and even though Oscar will be nearly 3 and a half when it all happens, I can't help thinking that it's too soon, so I'm just having a bit of trouble wrapping my head an emotions around it. Not to mention it's been a roller coaster emotional time without the pg and all the smoke around is not helping the nausea (wearing sea bands and hoping no-one IRL notices!). AND I'm figuring out my study plan. Silly, I know, cos DP and I were hoping it would happen (though he more than I, admittedly).
I also feel terrible because a few weeks ago Oscar was asking for a new baby (out of the blue - a few babies around us have made him clucky!) and I made the mistake of saying that he'd have to share Babu...'go away, Baby' is what he's been saying since!! So, a bit of groundwork to happen in that area...he'll come round!
Anyhow, I'm happy enough, it's wanted, just not processed. The one thing that has me excited is planning a homebirth and booking the midwife :) Oh, and tandem feeding ;)
The plan is also to keep it as low key as possible IRL and just sort of let it announce itself.
Does anyone else's Junie like Trotro? Oscar is really into Maisy and Trotro. I like Maisy, cos she's responsible and has good fun with her friends (who are a bit simple, and one is really sus, but all good!), and Oscar really interacts with the show quite a lot. I also like Trotro cos he's a cute, naughty little donkey...however, he's decided that he's going to copy Trotro's 'little tiger' and 'little monster'! It's terribly cute, but Oscar's added biting to the repertoire... eek! Such a funny little show for a 2-minute episode length!
We're all going to NZ at Easter to visit my sister and her new baby (baby due any one of these weeks now), I booked the tix today. Looking forward to Labour Day weekend, not so much for the time I'll spend with the competition team clique (I'm back on the outside where I belong and prefer to be!Loooong story), but cos we'll take the long way back and stay overnight somewhere on the Great Ocean Rd together (I'm gunning for Skenes Creek or Blue Johanna).
Ok, better get some more reading done so that I'm a bit more prepared for uni when it starts next week.

So glad you made a little announcement in our thread :D And if all the Junies look clooosely at your avvy belly they will even see your little 'mite' brewing! ;) Oh and yes, Niall loves Trotro... but I'd like to watch it in the original French too (I think it was made by Frenchies)... they also like the new Chuggerton but we have to scram out the door as soon as the credits role after that! have to get Wade to school (which is going soooo well BTW)

I've been on BB since 10.30am!!! :redface: But the last half hour was BFing Niall to sleep.... while I was reading... he's now napping on the couch and I can get some intensive house work done!

WOO HOO!!!!! I am so, so happy for you Maya! I have a 3 1/2 year age gap, its wonderful. I am sure you'll take the necessary time to get your head around it all and enjoy it...you would do pregnancy so well I think? Apart from the nausea. I'm sure Oscar will learn to share Babu with his baby brother/sister. Well done on being a RAK recipient, very well deserved. Love the new avvy!

We have Foxtel now, which has kids channel 24/7! Marley loves Yo Yabba Gabba and if anyone has seen it, its really strange!!! Lots of funny creatures singing and dancing. And she knows Lazy Town thanks to her big sister who absolutely loves it. Dora and Diego are big hits too, Chelsea walks around the house saying "olla" which I assume is hello in Spanish, Maya???? Good luck with the start of uni next week, hopefully this semester will be a little less exciting than the previous!!!

Bath - great work on Maya's avvy. Might have to think of a new one for me?? Has it been 6 months? Great to hear Wade is enjoying school. How are you enjoying being home with only one child?

My work day started off crappy today! I have a student workshop that I am running tomorrow and I get in this morning and my computer won't work. Its only 8 months old and nothing. I got into panic mode as all my powerpoint presentations, all my lecturers presentations etc where on my hard drive. Thankfully we have a fantastic IT guy, he said its a faulty part but has to be fixed by supplier as its under warranty. Hopefully they will be out tomorrow but he managed to get all my files onto CD and I can work on tomorrow's stuff (breaths sigh of relief!!). Then DH rings to say he is going to the footy tonight and needs to be at train station at 5.30pm. I don't normally finish till 5pm so I will have to leave early so I can be home in time for him to get to the station. Oh well, at least I can have a nice, relaxing night once the kids go to bed :D

Kai to has had a set back at the moment with TT she was having dry nights for ages so decided to take away the nappys but now she has been wetting the bed each night, which means she wakes up and wants in our bed, which I dont mind but the wet nights are disapointing the problem is I now out her back in the naps and she loves them and wont go to bed without one and wets them min the morning.... Arrrr 2 yr old who can work them out....

I am finding it so quite at home with just Kai, she is soooooo quite she just sits at my feet where ever they may be and plays quitely, but then all hell breaks lose when I pick up the other two, May is so cranky after school she just so tied but she takes it out on everyone, Kai get the brunt of it...

Zayden's new teacher now thinks that he might be dislextic ( how ever you spell it :rolleyes: ) which make alot of sence due to his very poor spelling and writing skills, I just dont get why one teacher gives him ok marks in last years report ( C with is where you want your child in vic as it means average ) and now 3 weeks into this year and this teacher is saying that he is behind in all stages of english and thinks he should have been kepted back this year and repeacted yr 2, so has already told me that she will be recommeding him to repeat yr 3.... Not only that but he isw showing signs of not been the most masclen boy in the world and has been getting picked on for playing not only with the girls but with girls toy ( little pet shop pets) I have tried to tell him he is who he is and if he is happy playing with them then he should just play with them, but has to realise in doing this it will mean that the boy who are boys boys will find reasons to pick on him for it... I really dont know how to deal with it...

Bath the new Avvy looks great and yep I can see a little bump there on Maya... I keep meaning to join up but so far everytime I want to the money just isnt there at the time.... One day soon I hope....

Amanda - noooooo, not mastitis!!! I hope it clears up really soon - I've cheated mastitis a few times now, and it's a close call each time.
tali - I'm really not a big fan of the mainstream school system, especially when kids work hard and are 'rewarded' with low marks, even though they make effort. Ali would have more resources for how to go about dealing with a possible diagnosis of dyslexia, hope she reads this soon for you :hug:
Mel - 'hola' is hello :) I've heard lots of kids are getting an ear for Spanish thanks to Dora and Diego! Also, Handy Manny (on the Disney channel) - but he's so spanglish, it's no better than here at home, as far as teaching Spanish to Osc LOL! Still not tempted to pay for TV, seeing as we barely watch the free TV - we'll get put off pay TV all over again when we visit my sister, no doubt - my BIL watches a lot of sport and can be a couch potato!
I was going to ride my horse this evening, but my energy levels are quite low, so I might just have a cuddle, feed him and take the rug off for tomorrow.
DP's just brought in a load of washing, better fold...:)

Bath - forgot to say before, I'm pretty sure Trotro is frenchie - all the credits are french names. It's a pity the DVD's don't give language options, like Maisy does! But Maisy's language options are pretty weak - Swedish, Danish, German, Dutch, Norwegian, English and a couple of other obscure ones!! Had to return our copy of Trotro to the library because someone was rude enough to put a hold on it! So, I"ve just ordered in Trotro the Artist. Meanwhile, all day long I told Oscar we'd have to take Trotro back (cos couldn't renew online) but that we'd swap it for Wallace and Gromit (which he LOVES)...only, I get to the library and it's been closed all day, as have all the other region's branches!! Bloody bushfire threat!
Today was uneventful, but still drawn out and now I'm tired from waiting...
KIdlet's going to crash soon enough, better help him along ;)

Tali - sounds like my house, quiet while it's just Marley and I, screaming matches when Chelsea arrives home (usually Chelsea is the one screaming!). I have been trying to encourage them to talk nicely and quietly to each other, when they are both screaming for the same thing it's awful :wall: I can understand your frustration with the schools, being told so many different things. Its a bit early to say that he will stay down. I hate it how society pushes "boys to be boys" and those that play with anything that isn't a car/truck/bus/train etc get picked on. There are a few at Chelsea's school that aren't into sport like footy and find it hard to find other boys to play with. One of them just ends up playing in the playground with the girls and he likes that. And why shouldn't he. I hope Zayden continues to do things that make HIM happy and develop a thick skin that he doesn't care what the others say, surely there are others who aren't into all the typical boy stuff??

Amanda - how is mastitis? I only had a very mild dose after Chelsea was born and that was sheer hell!

Bath - I would be happy with anything you created!! You seem to know us all so well and design the perfect avvy. The 25 things about you is a perfect way to delve deeper LOL!!! So your kid free day was fun? Sometimes they are my favourite days ;)

Maya - which library to you go to? Have you been to Knox since they renovated?

Marley has now moved to a toddler bed, she thinks it's wonderful. Still hasn't worked out that she can actually get out, which is quite fine with me!! She loves taking herself off to bed and tucking herself in. The bed is quite small, uses her cot mattress and is very low to the ground. Looks a bit like it belongs in a dolls house.

My dad was in hospital for over 2 weeks, got out last Friday. He had a bad foot for years and recently it got worse, dr just put him on antibiotics, that didn't work so he gave him more, that didn't work. Finally off to have a bone scan, I take him to see a vascular surgeon and they admitted him immediately!!! His leg was septic and he had a very nasty, strong infection that could have killed him. As a result he had to have his big toe amputated due to the infection. And they didn't just take his toe but the whole rounded bit underneath so its a fair chunk out. He is doing really well at home, he can walk fine, just needs to lean his foot to the side until it heals. The kids think it is amazing and Chelsea even told him she could see his new toe growing back :lol: He is just really bored now as he can't drive or really walk too far. Thankfully my younger brother lives with him and is helping him out.

Having a friend over dinner tonight and we are doing an Asian feast....YUM!

First up - congratulations Maya!! I'm sure Oscar will do fine - his comprehension will improve vastly by the time the baby arrives. Plus it will be a good 6-9 months before the bub really start moving and annoying Oscar.

Mel, that is so good they operated on your dad when they did - is he a diabetic? My mum's dad is and he had similar issues.

Hi Rory :) My kid free days are now Fridays (from 10 - 2pm at least at this stage). Niall is booked into a centre in at Melbourne Central (yesterday was his third session). Means I get to do all the stuff I used to do on a Saturday on a weekday ... plus lunch with DH... and now my family gets to see more of me on the weekend. So anytime you are up for coffee/lunch in the CBD on a Friday I could most likely join you!

I'm at uni today, with all my portable wordly possessions of value locked in the car. Not just remote locked, dead locked with key! No pager messages since this morning before leaving home, so that must mean that our little neck of the woods is relatively protected from the wind direction...wonder if that will change tonight, with wind change??

Nixon is TT to now yippee! about 8 days ago he started doing wee's in the toilet or potty. he prefers sitting at this stage, yesterday he stood for the first time but then every other time wanted to sit. He had his first day at preschool on friday in undies and had no accidents! he seems to be waking from his day sleep dry but not o/n. Poo's well he has done 1 in the toilet otherwise he has done it in his undies yukkkkkk or waited until we put him to bed and done it in his nappy. last night for the first time ever he pooed in the bath?? lucky Ty was already out.
wee's though he is going great!
still trying to sort out his hearing test saga, have an appointment booked for next monday with ENT which was already re-scheduled because i hadnt gotten the test done again, now i have just realised i still havent got it done, thurs i have a meeting & fri he is at preschool.

Nic - that is fantastic! Slow and steady wins the race so they say. Marley did a poo in the bath when I was up in Brisbane last year, it was hilarious!! Thankfully she does pretty solid poo and it was easy to extract from the bath!!! Its still pretty grose though. Hope you manage to get test done again in time for the new appointment - maybe if you beg???

Maya - how was your weekend away?

How do others find the sharing between siblings? It is driving me insane at the moment, Marley wants everything Chelsea has and screams blue murder if she doesn't get it. I have told DH he now has to buy 2 of everything to avoid the fights. He bought Chelsea this pretend phone, which she loves and of course Marley loves it too and wants it all the time. I don't think its fair to expect Chelsea to hand it over all the time. He had to go and get another one just to stop the fighting. Marley is such a bossy child and expects everything. Its going to be a hard habit to break...any suggestions girls???

We got the quote to put in our inground pool, which we are pretty happy with. This decision is pretty big as if we go ahead, it means no more babies. We were going to look at moving to a bigger house with a pool but its far, far cheaper for us to stay and put the pool in. Our house is only 3 bedrooms and another baby would mean room sharing and I am not really happy about that.

Mel you have come to a big decion... as long as you are both happy with your choice's...
mind you some of my happiest moments were when sharing a room with my sister... both my girls share ATM and almost every night Zayden begs us to sleep in their room ( on the floor ) as he wants to be with them... On the weekends I given in and it so sweet hearing all the chatter and giggles...

As for the fights thats just the way it is in my house so sorry I cant help, but both getting the same thing is the best way around it.... Its very hard as you always end up giving in to the baby as they are always the younger once and make the most noise, so it just easier to let them get away with it, hence why you can always tell if the adult you are friends with was the baby of their family...

well its raining here at the moment it so nice to have some rain back.... ( never thought I would say that after living in Cairns ;) ) I have found myself over the last few day really missing Cairns, I dont know what has sparked this but it is all consuming ache in my soul... strange, as I am where I thought we would be, hoping to buy in the next few years, with my family, but still cant budge this feeling that we should be up there not here... Maybe its because if we could have gotten the money together we would have been moving in 3 weeks... Or it could be because that everyday its getting cooler and I know whats coming.... Sorry I know you would be well and truley sick and tied of me and my where should I live saga.... I havent even voiced my feelings to BHL yet part of me is scared to...

Anywho Hello to the rest of you... Can you believe our Junies will be 3 soon where has the years gone...

Good morning girls :) Looooovley weather! Nice steady rain here too ATM. Discovered that the train and bus connect perfectly for Wade's school run today! :dance: which solves my wet weather fears ('cos I don't drive)... we just have to walk around the corner to the station, catch the 8.31am... go 2 stops... get off... and catch the 8.42am bus which is less than 50m from the station... takes us to the corner near Wade's school... easy peasy! You wouldn't believe how thrilled I am about this... and relieved!

Oh and new back fence is being put in next Monday! WooHoo!!!! Means our backyard will be sooo much safer.... the current fence does a very poor job of containing Niall. SO! Might have to arrange a Junie meetup here at my place before the cooler weather sets in! Best of all the lawn is greening up as I type!!! How about we aim for the first week of uni semester break so that Maya isn't too overcommitted? Naturally all Melbourne Junies are welcome! :D

Mel: just on room sharing: I was initially kinda against the idea too.... but DH pushed the issue.... so much so that he set up the boys room and went out and bought Niall a new bed etc while I was interstate last year. I was so sceptical that it would work.... but it has :) I thought the boys would constantly be silly and keep each other awake but that hasn't been the case at all. Anyhow... Like tali said, big decision... but I'm sure you'll chose the best path... and there's no hurry... you've got years up your sleeve! ;) When you reach the big 40 (like I will be in July...eeeeek!!!) it really hits home that time is running out in terms of baby-making. In some ways though, it's also a relief for me, I know my choice to stop now is firm and I'm at peace with it. I sympathsise.... in my 30's I dithered all over the place about how many I wanted.... even up to a year ago.... my choice though was to have all my babies before hitting 40... that milestone has passed now. And thankfully I'm very ok with it.

Tali: I also sympathise with dithering about where I want to live!!!! I'm also torn between states... (here and where my family are in NSW). I've decided that you just have to kinda "read the signs"... and make regular pros and cons lists. I know, it can drive you crazy!

Nic: and I sympathsise with the poos in undies! Aggghhh! I also thought Niall was TT but he still occassional has a regression... with very messy consequences... ugh ugh ugh. Straight in the bath here!

Good Afternoon girls... just thought I'd share our latest drama. Last night at about 7pm Wade and Niall were running through the house at full pelt.... you can already tell that I'm going to say that there was an accident can't you? Well yes, Verity admitted later that she told the boys: "First one to the back door wins!!!" and Wade won... as he hit the back door at a flying speed, hands out infront of him, and straight through the glass window! DH and I saw it happen. We were standing a few meters away near the kitchen. I actually saw Wade's left arm go through the glass... and then yelled out as Wade (in shock) withdrew his arm from the jagged hole... and then i saw that he had sustained at least one bad laceration. DH ran to him... Verity was instructed to get a washer... I made a quick inspection and then called the Ambulance. One came in about 5 mins (we live about 4 blocks away from a hospital). Then Wade and I went to hospital where he had about 10 stitches. It was all mildly horrific. He's having the day off school today but will go tomorrow... they have an excursion planned and parents are encouraged to come along so i'll be able to keep an eye on him. Anyhow, the most fortunate thing was that the cut was on the top of his arm, not the other side where the veins are closer to the surface. He'll have a scar but boys generally love a good war wound ;) All through the drama Wade remained amazingly calm, after a brief initial sob of fear... he was a model patient in hospital... so proud of my poor little man! He agreed that at least he now has something interesting to share at Show And Tell... He's got his hospital wrist band, the wound, and I'll take photos of the hole in the window and maybe even some shots of an ambulance interior for him to show.

Oh the joys of parenting... hope all the other June Babies and Siblings stay safe and that us June Mummies know that sometimes there's nothing you can do! I have told them and told them about not running in the house... maybe NOW they will listen!!!

Oh Bath, how scary! What a champion Wade is, staying so calm. He was very lucky not to have done more damage. Running in the house always leads to injury, I tell mine that all the time, usually after one of them has hit the wall or head first into the wall - thankfully no broken glass, YET! Now I might share this story with Chelsea as a reminder of the dangers. I bet he will love showing his scar and telling the story. Did you get your new back fence? Would love another Junie meet up, I can always take the day off work - any excuse for a good girly catch up ;)

After hearing the "room sharing" stories from all of you (thanks to you too Maya) I am starting to think it might not be all that bad. Who knows, I think I just need to forget about it for a while and see how I feel later. I will just have to put the cot and change table somewhere safe - JIC!

Tali - have you spoke to DH yet about where you want to live? I hope so, as I'm sure he will be very understanding. How good is the weather at the moment, just beautiful. I wish it was like this all the time.

Last Tuesday, just before I left work, DH rang and said that Chelsea had come home from school and just thrown up everywhere - 3 times!! I am so glad that it was DH home and not me as I don't do spew very well. Give me blood and poo anyday LOL! He said she threw up heaps and then to make matters worse for the poor guy (although he has seen much worse), Marley walked in to the kitchen and slipped in it!!! He had already rang his mum to come over and help and she arrived just in time. She whisked Marley off the the shower while DH cleaned up the mess. Poor Chelsea didn't know what had happened, its only the second time she has thrown up so it was a little bit strange for her. I think the universe gives you what you can handle and someone up there knows me and has chosen to bless me with kids that don't get sick. She was fine afterwards so don't know if it was something she ate or a bug but it hit pretty quick and left just as quickly. No one else was sick so I was very thankful. I kept her home the next day, just in case and she was bored witless and just wanted to go back to school. I couldn't even bring myself to wash the towels DH used to clean up, I just threw them out! Now to go and buy some new ones.

well I have just had the best birthday weekend ever...

very happy to say that BHL has brought me a life membership for my birthday, which was just what I wanted... Not that he can understand why, but like I said to him I have been on this site for almost 2 years now and its got me though some very boaring days and nights while he is away so its about time I show my apprishation to the site... of course our very own Bath has kindly agreed to set me up with a Avvy...

well on friday we went down to portsea as it was my baby sisters wedding on the saturday so we rented a very flash house for the weekend with the rest of my family, so I wasnt sure on how BHL would cope with us all there, but he had a great time and even headed out on friday night with the boys ( my only brother and our BIL ) to have a few drinks with the BIL to be, while us girls stay home with the kids but as luck would have it mine were wonderful and went to be at 8.30 and we didnt hear a peep until morning, so we had a great night drinkinbg and remissing about our childhood....

Saturday was the wedding and my sissy looked beautiful and we were very lucky to have the Gods smile at us with lovely weather.. I have heaps of photos on FB if you want to check them out, just PM me if you want my full name to find me if we arent already friends.... it was a lovely day all round, and my wonderful Brother offerd to take his and my winkies back to the house so I could spend some time after the respection without havinbg to be a mum for the 1st time in all my mummy years... I am begining to like Melb more and more, lol....

So hears to hoping the rest of my 30's are as wonderful as they can be....

As for us moving or not, the decion has been taken out of our hands, Zayden has started the testing prosess for ADD and dislexa ( sp?) and we were kinda told by the pead that it would be best for him to stop moving about and he needs the contuity now... we are still looking at moving ( buying ) in Selby, so once we do that it WILL be his last school change...

Tali: Like I said in your WooHoo thread; your avvy should be uploaded soon :) Just to let you know... children are quite limited in selection although I found a boy and girl (for Zayden and Mayleaka) that are a bit different to the usual... but it's really hard to individualise them. I hope your BHL likes his avvy image too! LOL Guys are also limited but he looks as hunky as I could manage! Just as well the BB Mods allow a slightly wider avvy dimension this year! Your brood just fits! Look forward to seeing it up... remember I can update it in 6 months time to fine tune things if you want :) Unless you need a preggy belly first!!!!

Wade's arm update: healing very well. He actually has 12 black nylon stitches. They look pretty confronting but at least there is no sign of infection. He has been so good about keeping it dry at least :)

OMG Bath how scary, I've got the fear of the same thing happening to Cody as he loves to run at the glass sliding door and hit into it. I'm glad that he was a brave boy, and it's true about war wounds, my DH aslways says "chicks dig scars".

Tali I'm glad that you had such a wonderful day at your little sisters wedding.

Just a flying visit in BB today... I'm on a roll with tidying up the place... hard rubbish collection today and I'm being RUTHLESS! Bye Bye old massive (dodgy sound quality) speakers that we have had shoved in the garage for 6 years... bye bye old broken poor quality plasticy toys... bye bye nasty chip board shelving. So looking forward to being able to park the car in the garage again!

Hello girls, I feel so bad for not having posted for so long but I have been lurking and cheering, boo-ing and commiserating from the sidelines as appropriate!

I am really loving working full time and our news is that DH is looking at applying for a full-time job back at Vic Uni (his old boss suggested he apply for a one-year position). So we are looking at the boys being in childcare 2 days and with my mum 3 days a week (if he gets the job, that is!) Fingers crossed, because DH having a job will be great for us in so many ways - DH will get away from the kids (he is going a little nuts being a SAHD!), we will get to save $$ (we have agreed his wage will be siphoned off to a separate account and not touched), the boys will get to have time with other kids (Ollie will be king of his room, I think, as he is so used to being pushed around by Flynn, and Flynn would do well to be with other kids) and my house will stay clean while I am at work (at the moment I leave it clean in the morning and I come home to a trashed house each night LOL!!)

On the baby front, we are planning a 3rd bub next year so I am madly trying to get down to a happy weight before TTC in July/August this year. I work in Richmond now so every morning I get off at Flinders St station and walk here via the Yarra River Main Trail - it is just a lovely way to start each morning.

Better go - very busy at the moment, but loving it.

Checked out Kids On Collins "nursery and pre-school" yesterday... an hour long tour. It seems to be a bit better than where Niall has been going... but I still have my reservations. Next stop I think will be the centre run by Melbourne Uni near Collingwood animal farm... such a tricky task!

That really is a great way to start the day, Ror! How lovely! Can't complain about my own surroundings when starting the day - trees are just so happy :)
Bath - congrats on the clean out! We're still getting through mountains of stuff...which is weird cos we have such a tiny house...but I gave away a huge bag of clothes to the op shop yesterday. Lots of dowdy maternity gear that SIL gave me that I don't think I'd ever choose to wear and don't need it in my house to remind me how dowdy I could be...! She never wore it, either, so I don't feel so bad for saying that. In the clothing stakes, I'm really getting very choosy and picking stuff that matches my mood...and that mood is VERY charged ATM. Poor DP, he came home yesterday and had to jump straight into action before Osc woke up. I was feeling plenty up for it before, and then yesterday I had my increasingly rare brazilian wax...hello, sailor!! I'm a happy, happy girl! Is this a pregnancy thing, or something else? It has to be the hormones, cos last year I would have happily gone weeks without DTD...go figure.
Anyhow, I think Flynn will really get heaps out of CC, Rory, it's a great age for learning the ropes about playing with peers. They don't really pick up on 'socialisation' as such, but it's a great learning experience to absorb conventions of play and group censorship - with the watchful eye of staff :) Sounds like a great opportunity for your family, and all before you go for the next one.

I've been MIA, too - posting briefly in belly buddies. There's a bit of loss and bad diagnoses in there, and it could easily be me, but as I'm not getting scans this time, I don't even know yet. So, I keep it brief and supportive in there, rather than the way it is here - not that I think any other thread could replicate this one, I really mean that :)
I have my private middie appt on Monday, which is all new for me, so I'm excited and nervous. Nervous mainly cos my belly is not showing yet - I thought it was, but it's really not. I've actually lost weight cos of the way I get put off food, or anything bigger than a small portion of a meal during pregnancy. My jeans look so stupidly loose on me. So, I have made efforts not to entertain morbid thoughts about what's going on in there. Plus, MS is gone and I'm no longer wearing seabands. Which you'd think would be a good thing.
I've told CC about the pg, so that they can incorporate it into conversations with Oscar, who's in supreme denial about having to share Babu with a baby! He's completely night continent now, after his regression during the fire season, and takes himself to the loo for a poo...disposing of half a roll into the bowl...without any of it touching his little bum...

I loved the pics from the wedding, your family are all gorgeous - and you looked amazing, love the dress. Kai's dress was so cute, where did you get it from? How exciting that you get to stay, and Selby is not far from Maya and I. Good luck with Zayden's testing.

Nic - wow, can't belive Nixon is nearly 3! Although looking at your recent FB pictures, he is looking more grown up now. DH normally works over Easter but who knows this year, makes it hard to plan anything!

Bath - hope the clean out is successful and ruthless! I have to do it when DH is not home as he is such a hoarder and won't throw out anything. I find hard rubbish days quite cleansing. My GF used Kids on Collins for nearly 3 years with her daughter, but that was 3 years ago and she was really happy with it, but it started getting very pricey. She used to run into Allanah Hill all the time as her son went there too! It's such a difficult decision, but I have found that the not for profit centres are a bit better and usually cheaper and if you can find a community run one, all the better. Parents get a lot more say it how the centre is run.

Rory - hope DH gets his job, sounds like a great opportunity for him and the family. Both my kids have done extremely well in day care and I'm sure yours will to. Marley comes home now and tells me who she has played with and she has a ball. I'm sure DH will relish being back in the "real world".

Maya - I can never imagine you in dowdy maternity clothes! I think you will make a very beautiful pregnant woman! I bet DH is not complaining about the extra attention ;) Hope the hormones keep up the pace LOL! That's great that Oscar is night dry and taking himself off to the toilet - even if he uses all the paper!!! I am still not getting much action on that front with Marley, she is one stubborn kid.

DH is away for 6 days working at Marysville. He said its rather spooky at night, no lights and not much noise and he is doing nightshift so its extra quiet in the wee hours of the morning. He is staying in a really nice cabin in Eildon and enjoying meals at the pub! So life at my house is rather busy at the moment - I don't know how single parents do it.

I was dobbed into being the chairperson of the school Parents & Friends Committee, they must know that I love to chat LOL!!! Its been great so far and I like being involved in helping out the school. As a working mum, I miss out on helping alot and only do a couple of school drop off's a week so this way I can keep up with whats going on and have a say in where money gets spent. Also a great way to get to know the new principal who is fantastic.

we all had a sleep in thismorning till 8.10am which was much needed!
tonight we went to a disco at Nixon's daycare which the boys had a blast at. the have both zonked for the night which i am glad because toward the end they become tired cranky and hard work!
tomorrow having a easter lunch with my family cause we are going away over easter!
DH has to work at Byron Bay on good Friday and Easter Monday but we are going to the gold coast for 5 days so hope to get some nice family time in between and maybe go to seaworld.
so excited cause its our first family trip! Ty's first plane trip. Nixon has been on plenty but not since he was 12months old!

Nic - their first disco!!! I loved the pics on FB, both boys looked very cool. I'm sure the boys will love Seaworld. We took Chelsea when she was 2 1/2 and she loved it. Our last family holiday was to Noosa when Marley was 9 months old. Might have to pester DH and start planning one. Problem is DH has to organise his holidays a year in advance which is really hard. Then he forgets when they are coming up and he told me last week that he has 2 weeks off from Easter Sunday. Bit late to be planning something now!

My best friend in Brisbane had her baby on 26/3, a healthy baby boy. She had a very complicated pregnancy with her DD (who is same age as Marley) which resulted in 7 weeks in hospital prior to her birth at 35 weeks. This one has complications too but thankfully she held out to 39 weeks. Poor thing has cracked and bleeding nipples. She didn't breastfeed her DD due to her small weight, she couldn't suck so she expressed for months. This time I think this one is a good sucker and she is finding it all very foreign. I wish I was up there to offer some support. I plan to go up in a few months, but I am sure things will have settled down for by then.

Went to the Melbourne Musuem today to see the Dinosaur exhibition. It was fabulous. I haven't been to the musuem in ages and they have some fantastic kids areas. And I can't believe how cheap it is, $8 for adults and kids free. Now just have to think of some other activities for the school holidays - any suggestions girls?

Hiya girls... day 1 of the Victorian school holidays!!! :D

DH home sick with a cold so I've been a real mother duck cooking chicken broth and shortbread. Niall is also coming down with it... and Wade is looking pale.... talk about falling in a heap at the end of term.

so hows the school hols treating everyone ( those of us who have started already that is ;)) My winkies are driving me barny, I know its not there fault seeing as we are house bound, with this cold and wet weather, but if I have to clean up anymore pencil sharpings I think you will ALL hear me scream.... I am so over it... I keep telling them that I will take there pencils away, but they know that I want as then they will drive me more nuts without anything to do :rolleyes: gotta love those catch 22's...

Well Zayden has had all the testing that he need for now, Now we just have to wait until his doctor is back from his easter break... ( 30th of April :doh: ) to work out what it all means... all I know so far is that they have ALL come back saying that he is below Average for his age in almost everything... but at least they are all saying the same thing I guess.... I am just over the wait and want to know whats in store for my boy.... Apart from knowing that he is in for a hard time of school life... I might have to have a better look into one of those Altueritive ( sp? ) schools... maybe he would do better in one of those than main stream... bet the doctor want think that though :rolleyes:

Apart from that same old same old here, waiting for BHL to come home, its been a long two weeks this time, not helping that he isnt happy out there ATM as they have changed his crew... that and it takes him over 12 hrs to get home here in Melb while if we lived in Townsville he would have been home at 8.30 am instead of about 8.30 pm tonight if were lucky.... makes for one cranky BHL when we pick him up, the cold want help either...

kai has had a week of dry nappies this week she is doing really well but know if I take them off she will wet the bed... I will hold off and wait until she has a month of dry naps then I might give it ago again... She is finally starting to speak more and is comming out of her little shell a bit, which is great... she even said Mayleaka the other day but is refusing to say Zaydens name every time you try she will give you a check look and say " NO Doda" have no idea where Doda came from but for her thats Zayden...

How's the hols going you ask tali? LOL well on Tuesday afternoon I wandered out the front of the house to watch Verity mucking around with some friends she had invited over (our house seems to have become the place to hang out... as all the parents of her friends work so they seem to be allowed to roam free)... I had 9 kids to supervise at one point: 7 teens, Wade and Niall. Required all my patience and vigilance... and ended up in yet another 000 call for an ambulance. One of the teen boys decided to climb a tree, and naturally fell down, breaking his arm. At least I saw it happen... I had a gut feel that something was going to go wrong... and I hurried out there telling the other kids to stop laughing and to find out if the kid was ok... sure enough he started moaning and saying that his arm was hurt... and bloody hell it certainly was! Think of the shape of a step... that was his forearm just above his wrist... amazing that the bones didn't break through the skin. So his mates stopped laughing and now it was time for me to pick up the pieces... the kid was actually very embarrassed and kept saying sorry to me over and over... i didn't lecture, he needed a bit of mothering... and the mate that threw the shoes up in the tree (which is why he went up there) was also very remorseful and sat down next to the kid saying "sorry mate" over and over again. These kids who were so full of bravado just minutes before were now sooo "small" and vulerable. Anyhow the ambo only took about 6-7 minutes to arrive again and off he went. Then I had to ring his parents... the father sounded stern but his mum was very grateful. He's fine now... came around yesterday and showed us his fully plastered arm (from shoulder to hand, alot bigger than I was expecting). And this morning I booked myself into a Red Cross first aid course!!! I've been meaning to do it for years. I'm reading the writing on the wall... ;) thankfully the fee ($175) will be fully covered by our private health fund... so yay! a bit of free and no doubt very useful mental stimulation! It takes four nights... 15 hours. Looking forward to it! :D

Firstly Bath thanks sooo very much for the wonderful avvy yet again, your amazing woman. Secondly, OMGoodness that poor boy, but good on you for getting your first aid course under your belt, it sounds as though you will be needing it.

We've had a great easter, we went up to my parents in Hervey Bay on Friday and got home just before the easter bunny last night, kids were up early and seeing what that had in their easter baskets, but not too much chocolate was consumed and there will be a limits.

Bath - another ambulance call, you poor thing. What a comedy of errors. Bet there will be no more shoe throwing anymore. Glad the boy is ok, but what a fright he must have had. First aid course sounds like an excellent idea. I have done many over the years while working but I would probably forget what to do in a real emergency.

Tali - love the name change! School holidays have been ok so far, weather has been pretty kind to us so far and 27 tomorrow! We try to go to the park each day, wear them out a little or a trip to the shops for a babycino and see one of the free kids shows kills some time. I know what you mean about the pencils, but in this house its the markers (washable, of course!). Lids never go back on and I am forever telling Marley to put them back on. She knows what I mean, she just chooses to ignore me! Nice of the dr to keep you waiting so long, thats a bit unfair. I'm sure you just want to understand what it all means as I bet its very confusing. Good work on the dry nappies. Still not much progress here on that front.

We didn't go away this Easter, DH had to work most of it but at least had Sunday off. We went to Jells Park for the morning and feed the ducks and had a great picnic. The park was so busy with many families celebrating Easter. Both mine and DH's family don't really celebrate much which really annoys me. We did an Easter egg hunt in the backyard and Marley nearly spotted more than Chelsea. We have got the approval to build our new pool which DH and I are both so excited about. Construction will start in about 4 weeks and it should take 12 weeks to complete, so in plenty of time for next summer.

Marley has finally given up her dummy :dance: Its taken a while but its finally happened and she now tells everyone about it and that she is a big girl now and no dummy. If only her TT was as easy. We have tried undies quite a few times, but she just keeps wetting them and so far nothing on the toilet yet.

DH and I are going away for a kid free night away on Friday. Friends of ours (husband and wife) are both turning 40 so they have decided that instead of having a party, they would invite 7 couples to go and stay at a beautiful B&B in the Yarra Valley. They have booked out the 8 rooms it has and we are going up mid afternoon on Friday and come back on Saturday after lunch. DH and I have never both been away without the kids ever so this will be a real treat. My SIL is having Chelsea for the night and MIL having Marley. MIL wasn't keen on having both of them overnight - who knows why as both are excellent sleepers.

Well thats a long enough ramble for now LOL!!!
