wow Naomi - you must be adding something extra to that formula! Your little (Big) man is the same height as Aiden, but, 750ish grams heavier!! Goes to show that breast is not necessarily best - you are doing good! Lachlan was only 200grams heavier then Aiden at birth

Naomi and Debbie - sounds like Lachlan and Aiden are doing really well.

Caeleb is now 4.850 kilo. What happened to my little elf baby?!? LOL - He had a champion sleeping effort last night. We put him down at 8pm and he didn't wake up till 3am. His nappy was soaked!

Oh... I almost forgot. I've broken my EBM record. The record stood at 180mls expressed in one session. It's now 210mls!!! LOL - Just had to share that with you girls, because I know you understand my excitement.

I've ordered some cloth nappies. I'm switching over when Caeleb at 3 months. Can't wait for them to arrive. Is anyone else going down the cloth path?!?

I think about cloths... we always have a cloth nappy under Ashleys bottom when we are changing her and she ALWAYS manages to poo on it once her nappy is off! lol. I think we will probably stick to disposables though, dont know if i can clean off all that poo all the time!

Ashley had her needles yesterday and she did really well, settled straight away after, had a feed and then slept for 2 hours! In the evening though she screams inconsolably for a hour - we had to get her panadol to calm down, but she is rosy as this morning... poor little legs.

She is now 4.67kg (bith weight 2.66kg) so she is doing well!

Went to big w and they are selling all their winter stock off so i bought some size 1 bonds sleepingbags and hoodies for next winter ($5 each!!! bargain)....

    HOpe all it well

    PM

p.s can anyone help me how to put a pic in my signature... it asks for a webpage http but i dont have one... cant i just upload it somehow?

    hey PM,
just quickly, you should be able to upload a pic to your sig, although not quite sure how lillypie works.
I know with mine, i had to click on browse, select pic from file on computer, then upload, if you want i can have a look and see what i can do? if you would like to email me the pic you want uploaded to naomi_washington@hotmail.com i can have a go for you tomorrow, otherwise i will have a look at the site tomorrow and try it myself then i can give you the run down.

Hey Deb, i think he just going to be a very tall broad boy when he grow up!! wow at the difference between Aiden and Lachie now considering how close they were at birth and only 3days between them!!

Hey Sarah, Caeleb sounds like he is doing rather well himself. Your little Elf baby is growing up!! LOL
and CONGRAULATIONS on breaking your expressing record

sorry for no more personals, have been up since 4am this morning and the bum head still playing up!!

    Talk to you all tomorrow

PrincessMya - I'd be more than happy to sort out your ticker. If you email me your photo and Ashley's date of birth I'll send you back the code you need to post in your signature on BellyBelly. My email is: srasche@bigpond.com - I'm glad Ashley went well with her needles. I'm not looking forward to next week at all! I was told to give him panadol 1/2 hour before the appointment, so I'll give that a go. When Caeleb was born, his blood sugar level was low, so they had to pr!ck his foot every time after he'd feed to to get blood to check the levels. I'm sure he's forgotten all about them, but I haven't forgotten how much it would make him cry!!!

Cloth nappies - I'm not using the old style nappies. I've ordered a Hautes One Size nappy. I'm going to give that a go. It's an all in one, meaning it's waterproof, so you don't need a cover. It has little snaps that allow you to change the size to your need. It was $25!!! But, it can be used from birth till they're a toddler, so it's not like I'll have to buy other sizes. I bought it online from Eco Bambino. I accidentally under paid the postage, but the lovely woman who runs it emailed me and said that she'd let it go this time. How nice is that!!! I will definitely be buying more from her.

Okay, the day is getting away from me. Will be back later!

    Hi everyone

Celsie - wow on your EBM record! Congratulations. My record is something like 170mls in one session, although I haven't been able to express that much for the last week or so? Is it normal for your milk supply to fluctuate? Re cloth nappies - I tried them a few weeks ago, but I found that they leaked and didn't fit as well as the disposables (I just used the normal square ones that you fold). I may try again when Diana is a bit bigger and not weeing and pooing all the time.

Princessmya - glad to hear that Ashely is doing better. Diana is due for her immunisation next week and I am not looking forward to it Diana had to have her blood sugar tested for a few days when she was born and she seemed to handle the needle *****s okay, but she is a bit older now and more aware of things, so I hope it is not too unpleasant for her.

Diana will be 8 weeks old on Tuesday. At her six week weigh in, she was 3.95kg (birth weight 2.485kg), so she is most likely over 4kg now. She is becomimg more aware of her surroundings, following things with her eyes and sometimes making sounds, as if she was trying to speak, lol. It's so cute. She is still breastfeeding really well, although she tends to vomit a lot. It doesn't seem to distress her though, so I am not worried. But I may mention it when I take her to the doctor this week.

Celsie Congrats on your record - i know how you feel. Are you expressing all feeds? I have started to express all feeds now. Have been doing it for about 4 to 5days. Found that he was getting to frustrated on the boob, and not getting enough in. When i first started to express on a regular basis, like every 2 -3 hours, was lucky to get 40ml a side, which, considering in the first month of his life, could easily get 100ml a side was abit devestating.
I just expressed then, and got 220ml, which i was pretty happy with, mind you, it had been nearly 5hours since my last express. Do you use manual or electric pump, and what brand. I am using Avent manual, but, am tempted to go electric. I have a thread floating around somewhere about Breastpumps, and what brands are the best. But, if i go electric, i am prob better off getting the avent, cause thats what all my bottles are.
Anyway, i am trying to express every 3hours, but, if i go out, or when DH is home etc, if it goes out to say 5hours, they tend to get a bit hard & lumpy, but, 5hours would be more convienent. Especially for overnight.
I am also using cloth nappies. The old style flats. But, i do use disposables overnight, as he now sleeps for 5hours, which is bliss. I am using flannel ones now, and will go to terry when he is abit bigger. But, Starfish, i do change him about every 2hours, sometimes more often, depending on how he is feeding. In the mornings, say between 7 and 10.30 he feeds every 90min or so, but, then between 11 and about 5, he feeds less often, and then, in the evenings, back to every 90min or so, so, at those times, maybe gets his bum changed more, but, in the middle of the day, maybe 3 - 4hours. . What fold are you using? If you like, i can email you the link for the fold i am using, which seems to work pretty well.
The last few nights, he has been alittle hard to settle, but, i think its because our routine has been up the crappers. I feed him at 10last night, and normally, he goes to sleep straight away, but, it took him an hour, but, he did still sleep till 4.30this morning,

He also get formula before going to bed as well, generally helps him sleep better to

Naomi - i wonder if you can weigh lachlan at 8 weeks, and i will weigh Aiden, and we can compare again? I want to see how he compares once he is purely ebm feed, and i know he is getting his fill?

Starfish - Diana has done well with her weight gain! Congrats to you. With her spewing, Aiden was a bit of a happy chucker as well, not so much anymore thank goodness, i was over changing clothes and bassinate after every feed. To help him, once he had taken the edge of his hunger, you know, finished gulping, i would burp him, and burp when i changed sides. Also, i noticed that, mostly, if he was in his bouncer, he wouldnt be sick, so, have propped up his bassinate as well. Its probably about 10 - 12cm higher at the front. You might also like to try giving her some karicare thickener. I have some, but, have never used it. Sounds like you disolve abit with warm water, or breastmilk, and give to them before the feed, is meant to help.

Princessmya - am glad Ashley handled her imunisations well, We line up for it next week, and am abit nervous about it. DDid you get that virsus injection thing that starts with R? I think..?

Anyway, thats enough from me.. have a great day all

Debbie - thanks for the suggestions re preventing the constant vomiting. I have noticed that Diana vomits the most when I put her down after a feed, so will try propping her up. We are also thinking of getting her a bouncer, so this is another reason to go out and actually buy it. In order to not have to wash sheets and clothes all the time, I always put a towel or cloth nappy under Diana when I lay her down. I sometimes wrap her in a towel rather than a baby wrap too. I am finding that towels are extremely useful to always have around.

Re cloth nappies - I am using the only fold I know - the one where you fold the nappy into two triangles. What other kinds of folds are there?

    Wink

Oh my god I'm so tired. Caeleb has had a shocker of a day for sleeping, or lack of...

Debbie - I do express, but mainly I just go with the boob because it's easier at 3am when I'm rolling my eyes around in my head trying to stay awake! LOL - But, I find that when I do express, I get far more from the electric pump that I do the manual one.

Starfish - I've noticed that when I'm sick (I've had a cold for about a week) my levels are much lower. So, I guess they do, but I don't know why?!? Does anyone???

ROFL - I started typing this post 2 hours ago, but got distracted on ebay!

Will be back tomorrow to write more...

    Hi Girls,

I haven't posted for a long time but thought i would today as i have a spare moment before the girls want my attention!

Well al has been well here for us. Shayla is growing fast and has alot of hair thats for sure. She is smiling and grinning constantly and talking to us and her big sister! We put Shayla and her big sister in the big bath together last night and they just loved it. So cute to watch Tayneesha's facial expressions. I will post a heap of pics here is the link and the Pwd - Tayneesha22 (will do soon)

    http://s106.photobucket.com/albums/m254/aprilmum/?

Starfish - I am not sure if you Bf or Ff if you formula feed i would suggest the KARICARE AR Thickened infant formula all ages from birth. This is for bottle fed babies with regurgitation. Shayla has this and Boob and i have had no problems at all after doing it this way. She tends to like the formula better than the boob and is thriving. My pediatrician also said that what i was using is the best for the vomiting etc.

Celsie - Well done you go girl!

Well must be off Shayla has just woken up from a good nights sleep. and time for a feed.

Sorry if i have not replied to everyone i haven't read all the posts either so a real quicky as Miss S has awakened.

Celsie - thanks for helping me with my ticker! i have emailed you a photo i know what you mean about shocker days... i am honestly not sure how i am going to pack thiis house to move in 4 weeks... i struggle to have a shower and make a samwich for lunch lately with ashley.

Is that really bad, i mean i got to the shops and for walks etc cause it puts her to sleep (the walk) but when it comes to home or doing anything i am hopeless! i do it in the weekends when dh is home and can attend to ashleys screams etc... he is coming into some overtime over the next few weeks and will be working 6 day/week!! omigod!

i am writing this with ashley in my arms, since her needles - dont know if it is a coincidence she has these uncontrollable inconsolable crying fits. all i can do it carry her over my shoulder ubtil she settles (which can be an hour or so)... night time is fine once she is asleep she us good - wakes up a happy little angel but then wont sleep probably during the day, refuses feeds etc.... i makes me so upset and i am in so much pain....

on monday i pulled some muscles in my left shoulder extending across my collarbone/chest region... so i cant lift my elbow above shoulder height - as in cant put a shirt on over my head, cant lay on my shoulder and this is the only side ashley likes to be held on ...

gee i am a whinger arent i? sorry i just had to get that out cause it hurts so mucj, even now nursing her in my arms.

Debbie - yes Ashley got the rotavirus vaccine - it isnt an injection - it is an oral vaccine , about a ml and she took it easily. It is a bug that causes gastro vomitting and diarrohea....

naomi - i have emailed the pic to you too

    Hello girls!!!

PrincessMya - hope you like your new ticker! Ashley is just gorgeous!!! Caeleb has his vaccinations yesterday too. He's had a REALLY bad 24 hours. He is just so needy and precious. I've had him on 6 hourly paracetamol. He only wants half the amount of food when he feeds and he's been groaning in his sleep and when he's awake. Poor little champ. In the end, DH and I decided to let him have the rotavirus vaccine, but it was a difficult decision. Can't wait till these side-effects wear off.

Jen - sounds like you've got your hands full with your two. Your photos are just gorgeous. Your girls are beautiful, just like their Mummy. I love the shot with the headphones and sunglasses.

Starfish - I'm using the Fluffies terry towling and flanelette fitted nappies. I've also ordered some Bum Genius and a Hautes All-In-One nappy. Have a look on some websites like, Darlings Downunder or Eco Bambino.

    Time for dinner, will BBL.

    Hi Girls,

Sounds like the injections aren't much fun. Lewis isn't due for his for a few more weeks yet but I'm not looking forward to it.

He's such a good boy and full of smiles now. His sleeping is all over the place though, most days he will either sleep in the morning or afternoon but not both.
His longest sleep is always the one about 6pm-10pm but night times he moans and groans in his sleep as he has tummy ache with his wind and he was constipated the other day so he was in pain with that.
I have just bought some Brauers stomach calm today so am going to give that a try. I find it weird how he's so quiet during his daytime sleeps but every night he makes so much noise and gets pains.

A friend of mine had a baby on July 1st and she was telling me how she does a dream feed each night. This is when she goes to bed she feeds him while he is asleep and then he sleeps longer through the night. I have read about it before but usually it's when they are older. Does anyone do this? The only thing is I wouldn't want to put Lewis down without burping him but surely he will wake up if I try and burp him?

He wakes about 12am, and 4am and then dozes from then on so I would love to try and get him to stretch a bit further. Mind you he is only 6 weeks bless him, maybe I'm being a bit impatient!!

Hey I was wondering where Tina is, she hasn't posted for a while?

Sarah - I've been told that the Womens and Childrens hospital in Adelaide makes up their own special mixture for wind/colic and it works a treat. I personally haven't had to get any as Caeleb seems to do well with just Infacol, but it may be worth a phone call if you're having a lot of trouble with wind pain. Poor little Lewis.

I've just fed Caeleb and he was quite hungry. So much so, that he had two boobs and was looking for more, so I gave him a 100ml top up bottle to go to bed on. Hopefully, he's nice and full and will have a nice long sleep. Usually, we don't hear from him again till about 2:30am, but he's not feeling well, so fingers crossed.

I was wondering if everything was okay with Tina too. She usually is quite regular with her posts. Maybe she, like the rest of us is just busy with her little princess.

glad calen got his appetite back!

Mumoflewis - i did df's for a couple of nights and ashleys pattern went like this:
    bed 630pm, df 930pm, feed 3am, 6am

last 2 nights i didnt df and:
    bed 630pm, feed 12, 2, 4. 6

so mmmm not sure as only tried out the df a couple of nights but seems to sleep longer in the first part of the night.

Prncessmya - It does seem to make sense then to DF. Lewis sleeps longest from 6pm aswell. Last night I nearly tried a DF at about 11pm but thought as he was due to wake up I wouldn't do it. However I should have done as he didn't wake up until 2.30am! But then he woke again at 5.00am and 7.00am and didn't go down until about 10.30am as he had had so much sleep!

I would like to try and get him to stretch out his 4am feed (as I'm sure we all would!) so I may try a DF tonight at about 11pm and see what happens.

Hi there ladies i know it has been a long time since i last popped in but man i feel as though i havnt stopped...August is a very busy month for us as it was DS 3rd birthday on the 3rd plus i won a holiday to Surfers Paradise next week so we are planning that and then its my nephews birthday and then mine so its all happening lol not to forget about the gorgeous little monsters i have making my life even more hectic!!

We have also come down with the dreaded cold and flu...Rylan gave it to Ashlyn when she was 4weeks old and they both have been so blocked up and snotty with terrible coughs and 4 weeks later its still hanging around actually it is getting worse again Rylan is on antibiotics and Ashlyn has to sleep with a vapouriser on she is so blocked up she throws up after her feeds...its terrible.

Ashlyn has been a bit up and down she doesnt have a sleeping pattern through the day just whenever im lucky lol and her feeding is pretty much the same could be 2 hours then 4 but she may only have 50mls then another time 150mls then maybe 100ml its just all over the show!! But i am very lucky because she has started sleeping through she may fall asleep anywhere between 7pm-9pm and wont wake until around 7ish!!! so i can deal with the crappy routine through the day lol

Charlyfrog i have to admit you are so not alone with the annoying habits of older siblings lol Rylan has just been ****ting me since Ashlyn came home he is so sooky and whingey and all i hear from him whenever i ask him to do something is "i cant" and fake crying..you know the real grating whingey cry that makes your skin crawl lol..plus he is loving her a bit too much whenever she is asleep he lays with his face in hers yelling Ashlyn, Ashlyn wake up wake up...grrrr plus he loves to lay on her and feel her wiggle under him he giggles and thinks its so funny...i am constantly saying get off her!! He isnt trying to hurt her but he just doesnt understand yet.
I feel like i am yelling at him all the time and constantly telling him to stop being naughty...so i know exactly how you are feeling.

Hopefully i can get back on her a bit more regularly but its all by chance so take care everyone and keep your chins up
