Debbie,

I wondered about putting Lewis in his cot after he'd been in a bassinette but it didn't bother him at all. He doesn't look out of the sides of the cot anyway. He looks at the animals on his wall though which he seems to like.

I know what you mean about letting them cry and feeling insecure but I feel now he's a bit older he will feel okay as long as he knows we are there. This morning I put him in the cot and I was tidying his room up. He cried a bit but I kept talking to him even though he couldn't see me and after about 5 minutes he dropped off. We are going to try it properly this weekend and not leave him more than 3 minutes to see if it works.

I've just noticed something really weird. Since I've had him, the hair under my arms has stopped growing! I'm not sure if I should be worried or not??

Debbie - does it matter that he can see out of the side of the cot? If he can hear what's going on and usually sleeps in his rocker etc during the day it might be comforting for him to go to sleep feeling like he is still a part of the goings on.

Mumof Lewis - no hairy armpits - you lucky lady.

I tried the self settling thing with Brianna this morning as I mentioned before. She went off to sleep really well but slept for one sleep cycle (45mins) then woke. I went to her room as soon as I heard her, before she cried too much. I then tried to settle her for another 20 mins with no success. Ah well....maybe it will come with age and practise.
