Aww... Charly - you're such a sweetheart!!!
I think your idea is fantastic! We actually started doing something similar to that last night. DH put Caeleb is his sling and got him to sleep just walking around doing his normal nightly routine. He put him to bed and he slept for a couple hours without a sound. Then, his nappy leaked and he woke up wet and decided he was STARVING and screamed the house down for five minutes while DH tried to get him out of his wet clothes and into some dry ones. After a feed, DH walked with Caeleb in his arms to the bedroom and he started to grizzle. DH was exhausted, so he gave him straight back to me. Caeleb (the little cherub) closed his eyes and went straight to sleep in my arms, so I handed him straight back and DH put him to bed. So, I think we'll keep trying with the sling. I like your idea about coming in to comfort him and leaving again. Thank you so much for thinking of us and our situation. *mwah*
Feathertop - Great to hear Angus is doing so well! And you're really lucky that you've got a hands on DH, not to say that mine isn't, he's just working a little too hard ATM and it's taking it's toll. I was shocked to read that you're still having pain with your recovery, you poor thing! Have you been back to the doctor?
Michelle71 - Christening outfits for boys are a nightmare!!! There's so many beautiful gowns for girls, but hardly anything for boys. I know you can put a boy in a gown, but my DH would have a FIT if I did that! I found a Christening Romper online that I'm 99% sure I will buy, as it's from Australia and I've only got 3 weeks to get something. I did find a website called SundayBest.com. It's got the most gorgeous christening outfits on there. It's and English site and they outfits are very pricey, but geez they're nice. Anyway, good luck. I hope you find one that's just perfect for your little one.
Caeleb has really started to grab things with his hands this week. Not only that, the things he's grabbing are now going into his mouth! LOL - I can't believe how quickly he's growing up!

Hi ladies
Have been MIA for a while as I've had a horrible gastro bug - vomiting and very runny bottom :D I thought it was food poisoning until my mum got it too. Thankfully Mikayla & DH were spared! All the time spent around the toilet bowl took me back to my morning sickness days :P
Celsie great to hear from you and fantastic news about DH doing so well. All the best for his next scan.
We havent had any issues with DH settling Mikayla. In fact he's probably better at it than I am. I think its because by the end of the day she can tell that I'm anxious (especially if we've had a tough day) and DH is alot calmer & patient with her. We've always taken turns at feeding her during the night as she's bottle fed and DH showers with her most of the time so she's used to having him look after her and they have lots of play time together when he's home. Its amazing how her face lights up every time she hears his voice!
As for DTD I havent had any issues. I had a c-section so obviously no tearing or anything like that to contend with. First time was at 3 weeks (naughty I know) and even though my scar was a little tender I didnt really find it a problem.
Mikayla slept 8 hours last night!! :confetti: She ate at 8pm, went to bed at about 9pm and didnt wake till 5am. What a glorious night!!! I hope she keeps this up.
Self settling is starting to work now too. She's usually sleepy after feeding so I just give her a little cuddle, pop the dummy in and put her down. A lot of the time she goes straight to sleep, other times she whinges for a few minutes or talks to her stuffed toys and eventually drifts off. Of course we do have our bads days where she wont settle but in that instance I hold her till she's half asleep then put her down. She has this little pink stuffed pig which she absolutely loves to sleep with. Its so adorable - she cuddles it all night - once she's got a grip on it she just wont let go, DH calls it the headlock!
All in all things are going well. I weighed her yesterday and she's now 5.245kg - the paed will be happy I'm sure - as we are of course!!
Well I hope your all doing well. Catch up soon xx
-
As for Chirstening outfits - we've got till January as my siser will be godmother and she's not moving back from London till then. But she's looking for gowns over in the UK as I havent really found anything that I love here - but as you said Celsie they are very pricy!!
-
Tina - Great to hear Mikayla is putting on more weight! Must be a huge weight of your mind. I just had a look at her website, she's one really gorgeous looking little girl. She's going to have all the boys chasing her... hope Daddy's got a baseball bat ready! LOL
Christening outfits for girls... oh, I found 1000's of beautiful girls ones. Try these websites...babesdesign.com, christening essentials.com,googoogear.com.au, heirloombaby.com.au, kids-things.com.au, oursmallworld.com.au, sundaybest.com (this one has stores in the UK), and uniquechristeninggowns.com.au.

Thanks Celsie I think she's gorgeous too but what mummy doesnt :P As for a baseball bat Matt's already made it clear that Mikayla cant get her ears pierced, go out with friends or have a boyfriend until she's at least 21 :D
I absolutely love the photos you had taken of Caeleb. Your friend did a fabulous job he looks gorgeous. We just spent $900 on 5 photos of Mikayla and they look nothing like Caeleb's.
Thanks for the links I'll have a look if I get a chance later today. I've had a quick look at Sunday Best and they've got a couple of beautiful ones on there. My problem is I'd like one that can become a family heirloom so it'll have to be suitable for a boy to wear too.
Thanks again xx

Hi everyone
I haven't posted in a while as I have been busy with work and study (and DF has also told me off for spending too much time on the computer...).
Diana seems to be feeding less now too. It is unusual for her to be at the breast for more than 10 mins, and if she has EBM she usually has about 60-80mls (a few weeks ago she was having about 100mls). She's been sleeping quite well during the night too. She usually wakes up for one feed, but as we co-sleep, I just pick her up and put her on the breast. Half the time we wake up in the morning still in that position, so its not a problem. The main thing that has been causing me sleep deprivation this week is study. :p (I have an assignment due today - just need to do one final read through, then its done.)
I am lucky with DF settling Diana. We both work part-time, different hours, so he gets to spend half of every day with her. Recently she has had a prefernce for me though.
Diana is getting Christened in December. I have ordered her dress to be made by a lady at the Glelbe markets.
Tina - if it's not too far for you to go, you could check the Glebe markets too. This lady makes party/fairy dresses for girls. I have ordered one in white for Diana. I don't know what you're after for Mikayla (these are a bit alternative, but I like them :p), but you could have a look. The best part is they only cost about $30.
Celsie - I love your pictures of Caleb. He is soo cute. It's a shame that there aren't that many Christening outfits for boys. My godson ended up wearing his sister's dress! (His mother put a blue ribbon on it to make it more boyish, lol.)
Hi to everyone else. Hope you and your babies are doing well.

Hi Girls,
Feathertop, I'm still getting lots of twinges inside from my c section and if I go out on a big walk I ache on my right side where my uterus ripped . I have started doing sit ups but can't do many before it hurts.
Regarding christening outfits, Lewis will be christened orthodox (DH religion) so they can wear little suits like trousers and a jacket which is quite easy. It's not til January either. But how about looking on ebay for people that make them?
Lewis doesn't mind who settles him, me or dH, but I do wonder if that will change because DH is only here for 3 of his bedtimes each week as he works nights. Funny little fellas aren't they with their likes and dislikes already! I do see Lewis wanting his Mummy now when friends or relatives are holding him.
He is 6.4kg now! Big boy. The dream feeding is going great so far, he goes from 7pm til 4am each night with a 10.30pm dream feed. What happens after that is a bit less reliable but hey I can't have everything!!

hi everyone
sounds like all your little lads and lasses are doing well
we're not getting Jackson christened as both my DH and I are not religiously inclined at all but I'm thinking of having a naming ceremony for him in NZ when we go back there at Christmas
DTD - not sure what it stands for but get the general idea of what it means - seems to be OK - tried at 5 weeks and it was horrible but has got better since thank god:D
Jackson is now sleeping from around 9-10pm until around 6-7am in the morning - I usually go in at around 5am and start expressing as I've started to have a few issues with milk supply so want to make sure he's getting enough, the only issue with DS sleeping for 9-10 hours is he is very difficult to sleep during the day if at all - he will only have a big sleep if I go out for a walk or drive in the car
just another possibly silly question - how do I become a belly belly member? and how do I put photos in the gallery? help???:wall:
keep smiling and big hugs to you all
Mel

Hi all!! I am so happy and relieved right now as the concerns I had in my previous post have all been cleared up! :)
Re: poo colour - apparently the pregnancy & breastfeeding tablets/multi vitamins I am on is causing DD's poo to be green - I couldn't get over how worried I must've been because I actually felt physically relieved, like my tension went as soon as I realised there was nothing wrong!!
Re: feeds - well the little munchkin has stacked on 600gms in just 2 weeks so is certainly not wasting away!! The health worker thinks that she is simply over eating! Go figure!! I think this may have contributed to my supply actually increasing over the past weeks, weird!! So am cutting back how long DD feeds each feed time - DD has already naturally dropped another feed so am down to 5 now.
Had a check up for DD#1 as well and so I have a little heffa DD (#2) and a petite DD (#1) - they are at opposite ends of the percentage scales. But most importantly they are normal....................................whatever that is!!!!! :cryinglaugh:
I hope you are all doing really well - am having one of those  woohoo mummy days  and my girls are having woohoo children days and DH is simply :confetti: LOL!!!
................and select TV is being installed as I type!!!

Hi all
DH and I have just had a night away in Wollongong and we're feeling so refreshed :D We had a free nights accomodation to use so we left Mikayla with my mum for the night. We missed her like crazy and still woke at 4.30 this morning cause thats the time she usually feeds but a night to ourselves was exactly what we needed - I'd recommend it to anyone who is feeling burnt out and has got someone that they can leave bubs with!!
Celsie I've had a look at those websites and found the most perfect Christening dress in London. Funnily enough my sister had the same one in mind too so she's looking into it and fingers crossed they'll have some in stock. The only problem now is what size to get. She'll be baptised in Jan so we'll have to estimate what size she'll be but its taken a weight off to have finally found something I like. THANKS!!!
Charly its great to hear that your mind is now at ease. It goes to show that even experienced supermums are prone to worrying :D
Mel I think you become a member once you'e reached a certain number of posts. I'm not sure whether thats the case with being allowed to use the gallery too but there should be some instructions on how to post somewhere.
Hope everyones having a great weekend. Its nice and sunny here so might go and sit in the sun for a little bit. Take care ladies xx
-
Teepee2 - I just squizzed Mikayla's pics and they are stunning!! I do have a question re: her pink guitar/ukelayle (sp?? LOL!!) My almost 3yr old specifically asked if Daddy could give her a guitar and she wanted a pink one! Where did you get yours???
Oh, DH home now - dinner time!! Yay!
BBL!
-
Thanks Charly. Just got her professional photos back last week. They were very expensive but very cute!!
My husband bought the ukulele from a piano shop next door to our office. I think most music/instrument stores have them - it only cost about $30 too. If you cant find one in SA let me know I can buy one for you and have it posted.
-
Awwww! Thanks for that! You're so lovely!! Will let you know how I go! Expensive pics but so worth it!!!
I must admit that I can cheat though as my BIL is a professional photographer :D He took approx 250 pics of DH, DD#1 & I last year before I was pg in just 25mins thanks to his motor shutter drive!! So we will never be short of pics as it's like his third arm!! ;) LOL!!!
I don't know how all you other mummies are feeling but I looked at my little DD today and can't get over how fast she is growing!!! She will be 15wks this Thursday and is just so amazingly interactive and smiles all the time!! (unless she doesn't wish to sleep or is starving.....not that she's wasting away either ;))
On Saturday we had a special moment as I was lifting her up and down and letting her toes push off the ground and she chuckled at me!!!!!!! I rang DH at work but she wouldn't do it again  but then after he got home and she had had a nap, he got to hear the precious chuckle!! It was soooooooooooo cute!!
I keep discovering how so different she is to DD#1!! So different!!
Anyways, have a little minute to myself as both DD's are in bed so might grab a cuppa :p Take care!
Mwa!!

Hello all...
Wow, so much to catch up on!
Tina - Happy Birthday, and am glad you are feeling better, and that Mikayla is putting on weight. She looks gorgeous in the photos!
Charly - how cute are those little giggles when the start. I think Aiden has been doing them more recently, and they are so wonderful to hear. Congrats on your good mummy moments!
Feathertop - for a good night out with Angus. You guys must of been so proud of your little man. Sorry to hear that you are still having some healing problems. I hope that things settle down soon for you.
Mel - its great that he's sleeping so well during the night. I find Aiden will still sleep during the day after a big nights sleep, he just needs abit more help to settle. But, then, i have also had a good nights sleep, so, tend to be abit more patient with him as well. Good luck with that milk supply.
Celsie - wow - already grabbing stuff. Aiden is getting close, he did grab something yesterday on his play gym, but, i dont think it registered to him that he had hold of it. So, other then our fingers... but, he is trying. He gets frustrated i think. I am glad that your DH is having better luck with settling Caeleb.
Sarah - hope the dream feeds are still going well for you.
Well, as for us - Aiden did 3 nights in a row of 9hours between feeds. Then, i changed his formula. Paed said to put him on to Nan 1 Ha Gold. So, i have. Much easier to get hold of aswell then the novalac. He has settled on to it pretty well, has a few more little chucks, but, nothing major. I think the biggy for him was that he was used to sucking hard to get the thicker formula out, and with this one, being not thickened, it has taken him abit to realise he doesnt need to work so hard. He doesnt seem to be as hungry either now, weather its related or not, i dont know. His poos thou, OMG - they are horrid. I asume its all due to the change in formula, but, by god, its a shocking colour and smell.
But, for the first few nights after changing his formula, he started waking up to 4 times during the night. Sometimes, he just needed to be resettled, other times, he was hungry. For the last few nights, just down to 1. Well, sorta. His last feed is at 7, then will wake again at 2, and then again at about 5 - 5.30am, but, i get up at 5.30am 6 days a week anyway, so, i dont really count it. And, he goes back to sleep about 6.30 anyway, till about 8.
He is funny thou, after his 2am feed, i have to put him in a sleeping bag, as he is SOOO happy, he likes to talk and laugh for the next hour. I mean, so happy, i cant put his dummy in, cause he wont stop smiling. But, i go back to bed, and drift on and off and listen to his chatter and laughter. But, he keeps kicking the blankets off. So, i put him in a bag now, and i wont worry so much about him.
DH is having better luck in settling him, depends on what his naps during the days are like..Aidens naps that is  If he has one big nap, then he is a pain to settle, but, if he has lots of little naps, then he is easy! Go figure. He seems to have 'power naps' as well.
We are not doing the christening thing. I wouldnt mind, but, DH is of no religion (i dont think he is anyway, he doesnt know, and i have never asked his parents). My mum said i have to, cause if i dont, then he wont go to heaven and it used to stress me that we would never meet up again, but, i figure, the bible says God forgives all sinners, so, he will forgive Aiden, and let him in.. Well, thats my theory.
ANyway, off to post about the poo colour.. chat later!

Well hello ladies, hope you all remember me!! I havent posted let alone been online for ages so I thought that While I have a minute spare I would pop in and see how all the June girls are doing. Wow dosent time fly?!! It was this time last year that we were all beggining to be pregnant!!
Anyway, Ive done a fair few things around my house. Had a massive clean out, finished our reno's inside and have now decided that we want to extend our patio out the front and enclose our entertaining area out the back aswell as putting up a carport and getting a new kitchen!!
Aliyah is doing so well!! She's a little heffa though she weighs about 8 kilo's!! She drinks 200mls 5 times a day and is even eating a small amount of custard and sleeping 12 hours everynight so I think that maybe Ima bit lucky!! Shes even teeting which really dosent shock me, cause my eldest who just turned 7 got her first tooth at 14 weeks!!
Some other news which is a bit UH-OH, I was 3 weeks late and did a Home Pregnancy Test on Sunday night and there was the 2 positive lines! But I went to the doc yesterday and had a blood test and that came back negative! What the??!!! Abit shocking, so Im waiting it out for another few days and test again and then we'll know for sure. Im crapping myself, but I know that Ill be ok!! I have a feeling that Im not, but cant be sure!! Always said I was only going to have the 2 only so who knows??
Anyway I must dash off and pick up my eldest from school. I cant believe she's nearly at the end of year 1 and starts year 2 next year!!! Scary.
Anyway heres a link for you to have a peep at my girls (needs updating though!!) Enjoy girls, take care and enjoy your bubbies!!

Hi everyone
Diana found her foot this morning. It was so cute. I put her in her rocking chair and when I came back, she had her foot in her hand. I wonder if she'll put it in her mouth next. She was weighed and measured yesterday at 5.4kg and 60cm, so is growing well. Woo hoo.
MacKusz - wow, 8kg! I looked at your photos and Aliyah and your other girl are both very beautiful.
Sorry for no personals, have to get back to work (wasted enough time already...)
Have a good day.
-
Hi Girls,
Debbie - Ha ha glad I'm not the only one who has to suffer the Nan 1 HA STINKING poos!! It smells the whole place out sometimes!! And Lewis's poos usually start off dark green but finish off yellow, all in the same poo!
Lewis is happiest when he wakes up in the night aswell, his legs go crazy when he sees me! Not a chance of getting him back to sleep straight away!
So now you have Aiden in a sleeping bag have you stopped wrapping him? Just wondered if it bothered him?
MacKusz - What gorgeous girls! And maybe another one on the way....!
Starfish - How cute Diana finding her foot. Can't wait for Lewis to do that :)
The dreamfeeding is going great. He is still sleeping from 7pm - 4am. Yesterday he slept til 5.30am! Mind you I was awake at 4.30am anyway wondering why he hadn't woken up yet!!
The one thing I really wonder about is that he sucks on everything! Mainly his hand or his collar, but also my shoulder and arm. Not just when he's hungry or tired, pretty much all the time!! Why is this does anyone know?
-
Hi - just a quick reply for Sarah. It's a texture thing Sarah. They find out what things feel like by sticking them in their mouths. Okay, must run, going out for dinner! Hmm Thai food! :D
