Yay for mackenzie!!!
Well i have just noticed ashleys 4th molar is spiking through... so might be a long night for us :(
PP :: How did Ashley go last night? Kenzie has got 2 molars.
Ashley looks so grown up in your ticker!! I am going to see if I can put a new photo of Mackenzie in my ticker this afternoon.
I am on a house cleaning blitz!! I am even in the mood to do weeding .. what is wrong with me!! :)
hi serenity!
that photo of mackenzie is gorgeous.!
no problems last night! Sleep through till 7am
But have been off her food that past 2 days :( so hardly eating. And hardly weeing. have to keep an eye on it.
Hi everybody!!! Gee I seemed to have missed so much in the couple of weeks that I havent been on here!
PP & Jen welcome back!!! Its great to hear that Ashley & Mackenzie are doing so well xx
I havent had much time to post recently as things have been a bit rough around here. I'm currently in my second cycle of fertility treatment which is going very slow and doesnt seem to be working :( And little miss Mikayla just hasnt been sleeping!!! I know she's never been a great sleeper and has always woken frequently during the night but she just seems to be getting worse!!!!
Jen how on earth did you get Tresillian to suggest a 4 night stay???? I have rung both Tresillian and Karitane in tears because we havent been sleeping and I'm struggling to cope but both of them have given me the run around.
Tresillian basically had DH running in circles. They gave him something like 6 numbers to ring (3 of which were disconnected) and the others havent been able to help. They said we have to go and see our local health nurse first and try their sleep & settle classes - which we did when she was 4 months old and they didnt help!!! So we gave up on Tresillian and rang Karitane. Well they were no help either. They said our GP had to ring them first and answer all these questions to see whether we really need the help. Then they said it would be at least a 6 week wait. When I told the lady I didnt think I'd make it another 6 weeks she said "sorry dear there's not much else I can do for you right now" WTF!!!! This woman was on their careline and she told me she couldnt help!!! Now DH & I would never ever do anything to harm Mikayla but I completely understand why there are so many poor children being mistreated and killed out there when their parents are calling out for help and NO-ONE IS LISTENING!!!!!!
So sorry for the rant but I just cant believe that I am having so much trouble getting help and others I know have so easily gotten a place in these clinics. One of the mums in our playgroup rang them a couple of months ago and she got in the following day!! How on earth do they qualify who get in and who doesn't!?!
Well I'd better be off before I drag the mood in here down even further! I hope you are all doing well and will try to get in here more often and keep up with whats happening.
Take care xx
so sorry this is all happening for you.
Surely there is something that can be done.
Is there any community health centres you can get familiar with that can refer you?
i know it sounds drastic... but is there anywhere away from home you an DH can take mikayla (mini holiday) that is availble... i dont know like a retreat for this sort of thing?
What a nightmare Teepee. That's so bad that you haven't been able to find help. What about if you call them back and hopefully get on to someone else that may offer better advice?
Is Mikayla teething and that is why she is worse than normal or has it been getting worse for quite a while? I know with Lewis is teething atm, I never know from sleep to sleep whether he will scream the place down or not. His new habit is this throaty scream that makes him cough it must hurt him that much :( But I felt another molar poking through today so presume that is the reason for his odd sleep patterns lately. It's his 3rd molar in about a week.
I was told about a place in Sutherland called something Cottage I think, that was a sleep school, not sure if you could find it on the net??
sorry don't have much time to post as have people arriving shortly but omg Teepee!! Am sending you hugs my sweety......I am so sorry (and ticked!) to hear that you are being given the run around! That's horrid! And I understand what you are saying re: you would never do anything to your little princess but understand how it could happen! What is with these "help lines"?!?!? Grrr! Will be praying that someone's brain finally clicks and offers you some much needed help lovey!! xxx
BBL lovelies!
Mwa!!
As you all know :Dr wants DD back on formula as she thinks she may have a cows milk allergy... which totally confuses me as she has had it on her cereal for 5 months already and as full cows milk 1 cup a day for 2 months and her facial (only) rash has only developed in the past 7 weeks or so.
She told me to put her back on what she was on (s26 gold toddler) - althought it is dairy based ... more confused!!
Anyhow.... she goes through 1-2 tins a week... $35-40 a week later.. i am really struggling. So i bought Amcal own (only $10 a tin)... do you think it will matter?
Does anyone use AMcal's brand? any problems??
She has been doing the most rotten poos since back on formula too!, and like 3 a day!! not happy about that lol (ewww in my new cloths too!!!)....
PP - I don't use formula, but from what I know, it is based on cow's milk, so giving it to Ashley when she may have an allergy to cow's milk seems really weird. Have you tried giving her goat's milk? I have heard that it works for people who have an intolerance to cow's milk (but I haven't personally tried it - I prefer soy, which I sometimes give to Diana too).
Tina - So sorry to hear that you are getting the run around. I think your experience warrants a formal complaint. Perhaps you should write to their main office. Treating people the way they have treated you is just unacceptable. Hope Mikayla's sleeping improves soon.
Diana had her first haircut the other day. I trimmed it at the back to make it even. My little girl is growing up. :heartbeat: I also took her swimming to a big pool for the first time this week. She loved it. I plan to take her once a week. If any of you Sydney mums (or others who are visiting Sydney) want to join us, send me a message and we can arrange a time. We go to the Ian Thorpe Pool, which is really nice, clean, heated, etc.
Hi to everyone else. :)
Hi PP, I don't know about Amcal's own brand of formula but can you compare nutrients to the other ones? And does it have probiotics, omega 3 etc, I suppose that could be the difference.
I read on another thread somehwere that you shouldn't give soy to under 2's, but I can't remember the reason now  But the same person did recommend goat's milk. However like you say it is weird when formula is cow's milk anyway. What a mystery, you must be really fed up. Can you get one of those allergy tests where they test her hair strands?
Well Lewis just took 8 steps. He's really dragging it out though, it was nearly 2 weeks ago that he took his first 4!! So maybe by Christmas he will be walking......
Hello my lovely June Mummies!!!
We had a really frightening night... Caeleb choked tonight. And not just a gag, a silent, struggling as hard as he could to get a breath choke. He managed to start to gag and eventually vomited a little. I thought he was in the clear as I could hear some air getting through, but then he started rolling his eyes around and blacking out on me. DH and I ran for the car (we were going to call an ambulance, but by the time they got here, he would have been dead), but as the cool air hit his face, it must have startled him and made him cough up a big piece of strawberry that was lodged in his throat. It was the single most scariest moment of my life. I still feel sick just thinking about how quickly it all happened. One minute he was fine and the the next he was almost blacking out. I thank God that he coughed that up. I have no idea what I would have done if he wasn't okay. Poor DH, it's his birthday today too... what a horrible birthday surprise.
On a much happier note...
We're officially TTC for number two! :excited:
We'd planned to wait till Caeleb was two, but the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to start trying sooner. Caeleb loves being with other children so much. I just know he'll be such a wonderful, loving big brother. So, please wish us luck! We'll need as much as we can get, since we don't know if DH is sterile or not. The doctors have told us to start trying and if nothing happens, then they'll start doing tests. We're hoping to conceive a pink bundle this time, but will be just as happy with another little boy!!! I've joined the TTC 1 - 6 month thread again, but it's just not the same as when Charly and I were in there... ah, such good times. So, if it's okay, I'm going to lean on you girls for support. I just can't seem to connect with those girls the way I do with you guys. Probably because we've gone through the greatest part of our lives together.
Okay, it's late. I'm going to go snuggle in bed with my boys.
Oh Celsie what a bitter sweet post that was. How AWFUL Caeleb choking like that, I can imagine the sheer panic. Thank God it all turned out well. It's so scary to think things can happen so quickly. Imagine if you had left the room for a minute or something, it is a wake up call for us all :(
But hey congrats on TTC  Fingers crossed it won't take long. How exciting.
I would like to join you which is a turn around for us, but looks like we will wait until the end of the year or so.
hi girls
Celsie - how scary for you! it is hard isnt it.
I am not sure what advice you have for choking but remember if bub is choking try to lay him in a heand downward angle - about 45 degrees (even if you have to balance him on your lap) and give him a good hit upwards between the shoulder blades (towards his shoulders - not the other way).
I have had to do this a few times for DD when she choked on new foods and as mean as you feel, it dislodged the food!.
And TTC woohooo!!! HOw exciting for you!!
Can you believe ashley will be a big sister in 13 weeks arhhhH! lol
Well i took her back for a second opinoin and this dr rejects the idea of a dairy allery! Thinks the rash aroun dher mouth is a dermatitis - possibly from teething/drooling and constant moisture (so we are barrier creaming for a while and keping dry as much as possible) and have a dermatologist referral. THe eyes she thinks is a reaction (as it clears with zyrtec) she flared up bad ont he weekend after playing in the dry grass . so possibly a hayfever....?
SO we are back on dairy! yay!
Sarah - why are you waiting till the end of the year? We figured it took us almost 6 months to conceive Caeleb, so with Tate only having one testical now and the chemo and everything, it may take us a bit longer this time.
PP - Thanks for that. I did try that. It usually works, but I think this time it may have made it worse. I think it just scared him more than anything. :(
PP - 13 weeks! Wow I didn't realise it was so soon. And that's great to get a referral because hopefully you will get a definite answer soon. Could the cold weather make the rash worse aswell??
Celsie - Well we really can't afford to have another baby too soon, because we are desperate to get out of our unit and into a house, so Lewis can have a garden to play in. If I am on maternity leave we won't be able to afford to do all that so we need to do it first, hopefully by the end of the year.
But I also don't know if I can concieve naturally as Lewis was through IVF and they don't know why I can't conceive, so I don't want to leave it too long. I am 36 so have to get a move on! I'm thinking of going down the chinese medicine route this time before I TTC.
Yesterday my SIL brought Lewis' baby cousin around and he was so cute, he was pretending to be all shy and putting his head on one side when he saw the baby! And he just wanted to touch him all the time. And he kept making these little squealing sounds! So I think he would be quite happy to have a little bub around...for 5 minutes! I put pictures on facebook if anyone is on there. I'm under sarah chance stavrou
Serenity - How is Mackenzie going with her sleeping??
PinkPalace - wowee!! 13 weeks....gosh that has gone so fast! I did find that pg the 2nd time round went stacks faster too. And yay on going back on dairy. Baby/toddler rashes are funny things, trying to suss them all out. Hope your dermatologist appointment gets you sorted. I was looking through DD#1's pics the other day and its funny how I didn't realise how bad her eczema was back then  poor little love, her cheeks all rashy and red. Funny though as DD#2 is almost complete opposite! Perfect skin! Thankfully DD#1 has the perfect skin now too.....ugh, imagine if they were teenagers right now  lol!
MumofLewis - fingers crossed that TTC is fun and short....or as long as you want it to be ;) sending oooooodles of sticky vibes and baby dust straight at you lovey!!!
Celsie - oh my goodness hun! Thank God Caeleb is ok!!!! what a horrible experience!! Oh the choking, damn its distressing! Although the girls have never choked that horridly, we have had multiple occasions of upside down, patting and even scooping with our fingers...........the things you do and have to go through as parents, who'd have kids hey?!? But......as you said, on a much happier note...... :cheer: on TTC#2!! Ah wooooohoooooo!! And am so here for you too - I stiiiillllll remember you before I even got my bfp with DD#2!! Wow! Time has fuh-lown!!!! Also hurtling vibes and dust (of a pink nature predominantly, hehe) by the ocean full at you!! Square up for those stickyvibe darts love!! :cryinglaugh:
Guess what?!?! 2 more sleeps til Target Toy Sale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hahahahaha!!!
Oh and DD#2 will now walk holding one of our fingers.............................. :cryinglaugh:
Seriously, she thinks that she is the cleverest thing in the whole wide world! As soon as you ask if she'd like to walk she starts laughing and then chuckles the whole time she wobbles forward. So cute, but soooo not hurrying her up, after all she could be my last bubby, sniff sniff .....ah plenty of time! *fingers crossed* hehe
Oh and DD#1 gets green eyed jealousy monster when we pay attention to DD#2 so will then copy her baby sister......to the point of asking us to hold her hands too so she can "pretend to be a baby and walk like DD#2". She can tend to do my head in of late but just have to keep in mind she is only 3&1/2 and then go have a coffee, lol.
Well, off to create and tinker, chat soon lovely ones. Hope every one else is doing sweet an dandy! xxxx
Mwa!!!
Hello everyone
I have been popping by, well no I have been getting the email updates so I have been keeping up with all, just not stopping by.. I am working nights now and have been for a while and have lost my BB time! So much is happening with everyone!
Celise- that must of been terrible, thankfully you did have DH with you and it all turned out good. AND BIG CONGRATS on TTC again. fingers crossed for you and sending lots of :stickyvibes: your way!
PP - WOW 13weeks! I dont think I would have survived the last 6mths being pregnant, big  to u! The countdown really is on! i hope you get Ashley's rash sorted once and for all with a specialist. Poor little chicken! Dane has had in the past a drooling rash on his chin and kinda under from his teething, but not so bad since he has had his amber necklace. What i find really interesting is the amount of allergies around today for the kiddies. When I was young they were so rare, i dont remember having any friends or anything that really had allergies. Is it our food? I think Dr's are too quick to blame an allergy without looking into the real cause. what do u guys reckon?
Teepee2 - big hugs to you, i hope you are having a better time of things. Sending you lots of stickyvibes too.
Chalryfrog - well done on DD#2 walking! I understand about the not hurrying thing, I really really want our next bub to be a lot slower at the whole moving thing than Dane has been! Little tyke Dane can get enough speed up that you actually have to trot after him!!
He is showing that he understands quite a bit. We can say to him something about a poo poo nappy and have to change it and he will walk to his bedroom, same with bedtime, off he goes to his room, and today I said "c'mon lets sit down at your table for lunch( its a little Winnie the poo chair with a tray) and he walked over to where we keep the chair and I picked up the chair and he picked up the tray! Then he came over the chair and went to sit down backwards in it - but missed, but it was the first time he tried to sit back like that by himself, then to top it off he was trying to put the tray across!!
He has just today started saying my name, Kylee = i rarely get mum unless he is sooky, but he is now walking around saying Kylee!! He has 4 molars now and 8 other teeth.
anyway, I must get off to bed as I am going to have my ray of sunshine awake before the real sunshine!
I will catch up again soon, something was mentioned about sippy cups and stuff, but I will leave that til next time!
hope everyone is doing great, :)
Thanks miss banana.
I think it is a drool rash! :) But will wait and see
My parents stayed last night (they live 5 hrs away) and so DD had an exciting day. Awake from 7am-330pm (went down for 2 hrs) and then up till 9pm last night.... BUT then she only sleep till 1030pm and was up until 3am screaming.. OMG i am soooo tired. Not sure what was wrong. DH and i were so out of it. She is asleep now so will give her a once over when she wakes up i guess.
She also has 4 molars and 8 teeth MB! can you belive these chompers!
Well i am waitting intensely for a email from DH - about a new job... i hpope he got some answers this morning... so i know what i am going to be doing over the next 4-5weeks (moving or not)... always fun with a toddler and preg!
Pink Palace - Well I hope the job outcome is what you wish for! :goodluck2: We were 26weeks pg when we moved our tribe (DD#1 was almost 2&1/2).......I was foreperson ;).....and director of traffic, and mummy and chair warmer..... ;) My pg belly really drew a moving crowd that time round!! We've moved another 4 or 5 times before that, minus children, and all that offered/turned up were the faithful inlaw folks, my sister and a friend.....like I said, my belly drew an army!! Even friends of friends! :D Well if you do have to move, hope you can get stacks of help and that everyone understands that your major role for the day will be incubator and mummy to Ashley ;)
Charly!
I have moved 5 times in 3 years... lol and i am talking long distance moves.
Once i had a 12 weeker bub then the next she was 8 months(and i was 6 weeks preg), and now 13 months old and 6 months preg lol
I have learnt... pay someone to pack as it isnt worth my time trying lol
Here are some updated pics of DD's face :)
https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...00&ppuser=8455
awwww, gosh she's cute PP!! :D But you knew that ;) Yep that rash looks exactly like what DD#1 had except it stayed on her cheeks....and did go to her eyelids, under her neck, back of her legs, feet, hands, arms, tummy.......... I'm no doctor so I'm not saying its the same but the rash does look similar. All we could do was moisturise with sorbelene and calendulis and then if it got really horrid, we'd use a smidge of dermaid - which seemed to work better than the cortisone/steroid cream that the dr prescribed. We stopped using soaps and we make sure her baths weren't too warm. Also we had to make sure that she didn't get too hot sleeping or playing. But like I've said, DD#2 has had hardly any thing! So funny how my girls are so different!
But like I said first.......what a gorgeous little blonde munchkin you have!!
Thanks Charly ! lol.
Well still nothing from the job... Dh rang and left a phone message and emailed a letter ... and nothing heard back... frustrating! rah!!! :P
Well after our dreadful night last night with DD's sleeping... we are going for night of terror #2!....
i decided i am going to try without the sleeping bag tonight.. and sheets/blanket instead. Have put a sheep skin down... to keep her warm (she might object to this will see)..... mmmm might be another long night!!
Should i put the sheep skin under the fitted sheet or is it ok fr her to cuddle into in on her belly?
PP - I would put it under the sheet, I read that it's not good for them to be on sheepskin due to breathing problems, asthma etc. Maybe you should google it to confirm this?
Good luck with tonight's sleep:goodluck:
MissBanana - Dane sounds so cute, doing what you tell him already hey?! Hope it lasts! Lewis will throw me the ball if I ask him but that's about it so far! Actually if I say where's Mickey he will look at the TV, but not sure if that's a good thing
He was up at 4.40am this morning for the 2nd morning in a row. I think it's due to his molars, or rather I hope it is. He was just starting to sleep through until 6am and now he's going backwards  The molars take a while to come through don't they? I have felt a few pointy bits through but I guess as they are big it takes a while for the whole tooth to show.
Hope all the Mums and bubs are good and keeping warm .....
Teeth are temperamental little things!! DD#1 had teeth that cut and then disappeared :o not happy jan!! Molars do seem to take forever - like they can cut in spurts....."hmm, I'm 1/4 of the way through, should I keep going??? Nah! Make 'em sweat...mwah hahahaha!" and then the next day, "K, ready to pop through another micro centimetre now - yup, that's enough"
Yeesh! Hugs to all those whose molars are playing cheeky games!
oh I meant to update everyone on DH as he has now seen a couple of specialists in the past week for his dizzyness that has now been ongoing for 8weeks! Well finally it has been diagnosed by 2 separate specialists that DH has had a virus that got into his ear and actually killed off some nerves linked to his balance. It is able to be rectified by simple exercises which will force his 'good' nerves to pick up the slack and take over the job of keeping him balanced. There is still the possibility of relapse when ever he gets run down, tired, sick etc but can then be handled by these simple exercises  Gosh its such a relief to know that finally it is nothing sinister! Oh and on top of all that he managed to get a raging sinus infection so is on antibiotics but this is also messing with his balance....but even though its not that fun for him atm, its not keeping us stressed him being a bit off iykwim? So just thought I'd let you all know and thank you all so much for your love and support when I blurted out woffle about all this a while ago
MWA!!! xxxx
hello ladies,
its been a big couple of weeks here lately,
1. i got a new job. now i sell motorbikes. i love them so i thought i'd give selling them a go. so out of my comfort zone its not funny, its been a challenge but im slowly getting it.
2. sorry to say this to those who dont agree, but we decided to try the controlled crying gig. four nights of tantrums and no dummy and we are now sleeping right through:D. it was very tough to leave Nate crying but we both made the commitment and it worked. he still has issues with waking up(grumpy(gets it from his mother)) and his still cat naps during the day.
3. tree still in backyard- maybe this weekend
ciao
dragonstorm
Charly - great to hear some answers with your DH *hugs*
Dragonstorm... congrats on the new job!
And we did controlled crying too and it worked at treat. Each to their own i say!!!
Well last night was a success! first night since DD was 5 weeks old she has slept without a sleeping bag. I will put the sheepskin under the sheet today. But not a peep all night since she went to bed at 7pm.... and is still sleeping. She had no sheets o nher this morning but i placed one over her at 7am - when i snuck in.
That's great PP, nothing like a good night's sleep ;).
Lewis on the other hand outdid himself, he woke at 3.50am, I managed to resettle him for 40 mins and then he was bouncy bouncy, time to get up, at 4.30!!! I gave him his bottle and went back to bed, but the minute he finished it, he was shouting out, obviously ready to play  So yet another early morning followed by a day at work :( Oh please let it just be his molars and not a new routine!
Dragonstorm - DH would be so jealous if I told him, first go karts, now motorbikes, that's his dream life!
Congratulations Charly on finding out what's wrong with DH! Must be such a relief!
Also, congratulations Nate on getting your new job. I hope you're very successful in your new field. :hooray:
For all of you who are having issues with your little ones sleeping at night, I highly recommend 'Sleeping Like A Baby' by Pinky MacKay. Very much worthwhile reading.
Sooooo tired lately. Feel like I've got chronic fatigue syndrome or the likes... :(
Must go... lots to do.
Dragonstorm - with you on the sleeping method! Did it right from the beginning with both my girls - DD#1 was sleeping through at 9weeks (8hours) and DD#2 was sleeping through at around 3&1/2 months (8hours) I agree with PP - each to their own but I am wishing that I could start the trend of not using a phrase that seems to draw such critisism however: "controlled crying" - gosh that phrase raises eyebrows doesn't it? Let's see, "Baby Sleep Training".....hmmmm, need to work on that one, lol! But that's fantastic with Nate sleeping through now! Woohoo! (for Nate & his mummy & Daddy!!) and Congratulations on your new job!! So great to be dealing with things you love, good work! Hope it all pans out for you. Oh and re: tree......hehehehehehehe
PinkPalace - oh my goodness!! How fantastic for Ashley sleeping through  - and such a simple solution!! Hope it sticks for you, that's great! Funny enough, been considering the transition ourselves with DD as she can get her self in such a twisted muddle lol!
MumofLewis - :crossfingers: it is Lewis' molars so you don't have such early mornings followed by work
Celsie - awwww hope you get much needed sleep and rest lovey
Weeeeellllllll, guess what I did yesterday?!?!?! YUP!!! Target Toy Sales - AH WOOHOOOOO!!! *big goobey grin, hehe* I worked out that through the multiple book box sets I bought, there were 179 books, 93 of which will be for the girls!! Lol!! I loooooooove books!! Seeing as DD#1's birthday is in November I picked things up for her as well - wow she's going to do well, hehe. So she is getting the Charlie & Lola book of 5 stories, a Little Miss Happy Birthday book & the connect 4 game.....and for Christmas!! Soooo the girls are getting the Mr Men & Little Miss box sets as a combined present, a box set of Dr Seuss each (different ones), DD#1 is getting a 3 wheeled Dora Scooter and my favourite, lol, a Little Tykes Digital Camera!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How fuuuuuunnnnnn!! DD#2 is getting the Little Tykes Ride & Grow bike as well as a doll's pram.....then they'll both have stockings...............
I feel like I fulfilled a long time dream yesterday as my sister came with me to do some shopping for her nieces, hehe, and by the time we got to the layby line (thank goodness we got their super early!) our trolley was piled so high with toys!! I loved it!! Never done that before and certainly will only be a once a year event but gosh my! It was so fun!! My sister and I are thinking we could make it an annual event, our day out, DH has the kids......
....so just in case you weren't sure..... I HAD SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!!!!! :cryinglaugh:
There were other gifties in the massive pile for my other nieces, nephews and the like, but was so fun to shop for the girls. Wooohoooo!! Now just the adults chrissy gifts to worry about.............. boring, hehe!
Ok, must go retrieve remote controls from DD#2 and get dressed, hehe. Hope you all have a lovely day and fab weekend. Chat later,
MWA!!!
..Oooh Charly, I'm tempted to nip out to Target myself now........The Little Tikes digital camera sounds great :excited:
Celsie - Have you tried Floradix, I swear by it as a pick me up.
We just went to the library for babies songs and story time, it was great, but what amazed me was how much Lewis walks when there are other kids to show off to!!! Cheeky imp was really strutting his stuff  And he didn't wake up until 5.30am this morning. Still rubbish but a great improvement!!
Can't say I've ever heard of it before Sarah, but I'll have a look for it at the chemist. Thank you.:
Celsie - Have you tried Floradix, I swear by it as a pick me up.
Well done! I think that's a great achievement. It's completely unrealistic to expect babies to sleep without waking for 12 hours straight. It's not like many adults do. I know I wake up a couple times in the night to have a drink or go to the toilet.:
And he didn't wake up until 5.30am this morning. Still rubbish but a great improvement!!
Yes the camera is so so cute!! :cheer: I had a few options - a sesame street one and a barbie one plus this Little Tykes one and this one won hands down!! Massive capacity, usb etc plus preview screen.......DD#1 is forever stealing people's digi cameras to take her own pics and when we went on holidays, she had a disposable camera and loved it. Plus now she wants to use mummy's pics to scrapbook with :o so I kinda need to protect those ones so figured if she can scrap book her own pics, we're on a winner! :D (you can google Little Tykes Digital Camera to get all the info on it) - great price too @ Target - usually $100 now $70!! Woohoo!! Also very cute as I was able to get a pink one for her, hehe. Ah so girly :D
Celsie - Floradix is an iron medicine with added vitamins and herbs, it's really good. Costs about $20 though but worth it.
Regarding Lewis's sleeping, he actually does sleep through normally from 7am-6am, it's just this week he keeps waking up earlier and earlier. But as I say 5.30am was a great improvement, so hopefully it was just a phase. Am going to have an early night just in case, although it's actually got more to do with my new electric blanket that seems to be calling my name.......
Oh, I'll have to ask for it when I go in the chemist next. I take iron supplements anyway, as I'm vegetarian, so it would just mean switching brands. Thanks! :)
hi mum of lewis - they keep changing thier sleeping habits dont they!
the past 2 nights we have had good ones. Ashley is in bed later (as we have had busy mornings and get to her bed at 2-3pm in the arvo) so she has gone down about 8pm until 7am... which is nice. But the other night (tues/wed) she woke at 12midnight and played tll 3am.... omg!!
HOw are you celsie?

hey everyone
firstly a huge huge happy happy birthday to all our June (and early July) bubs - I hope all the mums and dads are proud of themselves as well for surviving the first year - I know I am
we haven't dropped off the planet - just my internet - I have internet at work but it blocks message board sites so its such a pain - I have missed you all!
well life with Jackson is chaotic as usual - he's now in day care 3 days a week as I've gone back to work full time - he loves it but its such a pain that he picks up every cold and cough that goes around (and hand foot and mouth the week after we got back from San Fran - not nice I tell you!!!!)
so with all the colds and stuff he hasn't maintained much of a decent sleeping pattern - we'll get 6-7 nights of great sleep then he'll be getting a tooth or have a cold and it will go to the dogs again - oh well we will get through it I'm sure
we've recently started going to a toddlers class on a Saturday called art and move - its brilliant (we couldn't find much else we could do together on a weekend in the terms of structured play classes so me and a friend begged this woman to run a saturday class for us!!!)
congratulations to all the pregnant mummies and lots of sticky baby dust to those TTC - you're very brave - the thought of #2 sends me into a sweat!!!
well I"ll come back again soon and catch up on all the news
Love and hugs
Mel
by the way - is Jackson the only one not walking - he does lots of walking around furniture but won't let go for anything - he's the only one in my mum's group not walking as well - oh well he'll get there eventually I hope!
Hey mel_thekiwimum!! Lovely to hear from you! And no! Jackson is not the only one not walking - DD#2 will hold our fingers and walk but not on her own.....she too shuffles around the furniture at lightning speed but she has only just recently taken to standing on her own for a few seconds at a time.....the proud as punch smile she does with her hands in the air is too cute! So yes, don't worry......all bubbies at their own pace I say :) (oh and DD#1 was 13&1/2 months before she took her first steps too, so older than DD#2 atm)
And awwww on getting all those colds n stuff, especially hand foot & mouth! Oh that must've been terrible! I hope his health stints lengthen so you get more sleep!!!
Hey Mel, great to hear from you, glad you are both well. No Lewis isn't walking yet even after taking his first steps 3 weeks ago! He will walk about 4 or 5 steps but then start crawling again
However on a good note, the last 2 nights he has gone back to his good old sleep routine of 7pm-6am, so it must have been his molars giving him grief after all.
Not much other news really. Oh yes, when I ask him where is his book, or where is Percy he will go and get them now, it's really cute.:)
Roll on spring so we can get out and about a bit more.......
