tiggerlinda - me to! our sling really seems to calm/comfort bubs when he's overtired or upset. we've had lots of compliments of it and how comfy it looks when out at the shops too.

    Hi all,

Jasmine was born on 2 April so technically I should not be part of this thread... but most of you were in the same pregnancy thread as me, and the lovely TL is here. So I'm hoping it is okay that I join in.

All is going well for us. Jasmine is putting on weight nicely (700 grams in 2 weeks!) and is now 4.5kgs. We are still in 0000 clothing, but I think she will start growing out of them in the next couple of weeks. She is social smiling regularly now and has some great conversations with me (so lovely).

I will have to read through the thread to catch up on everything. But just wanted to say a big HI to all you mummy's. Hope you are all well.

    Janie xxx

Thanks all for the congratulations! It is very exciting. Was a complete surprise but a welcome one. He asked my Dad's permission and everything. Must have been so nervous. The ring is stunning and fits perfectly. I feel all weird wearing it, though because I am so scared of losing it. Will keep you updated with the details. We are thinking next February but I'm not sure how long it takes to plan these things!! I guess we will look at the 'where' and then figure out the 'when' based on availability.

Sorry, my mind is running away on me!!

    Hope all is well.

Welcome Janie! The more the merrier!
Nice work on the weight gain... my bubs is still in 0000's too, but weighs 3.3kg - didn't gain for a month, but we are getting there!

I wish my bubs would like the sling - he gets upset in them a tries to wriggle out!
I would love to use it at the shops instead of the monster pram...
I have a ring sling in a shiny fabric - maybe i need a different sling, the only problem is it needs to be cool as we live in Singapore... hmmmm

Baby massage - we haven't been 'taught' one, but my bubs likes his moisturiser rub/massage after the bath... took a few goes though.

    tiggerlinda - enjoy your playgroup!

auzzie.chick - Good luck with the ultrasound!

    Hi All,
Does anyone else find there is one period in the day when bubs won't sleep between feeds?

I tried what the MCHN said about waking David at 10pm for a feed and then he might sleep longer at night.

We fed at 7pm, 10.30pm then 5am, then 7.30am so not bad. He did wake at 2am but wasn't hungry and wouldn't attach so i patted him and put him back to sleep. Because he had been hard to get to sleep we co-slept, but i wouldn't mind easing him back into his own basinett (although he's nearly the same length so he might not be in there long before his cot).

I have a close carrier too, do you use it much out shopping, i didn't know if one of those baby bjorn ones would be any good.

I use the close out shopping all the time Charlotte loves the upright postion as well as the cradle.

She has 1 feed a day where she does not sleep after it usually 8-12 at night

tiggerlinda- sorry that your awake time is late at night. ours seems to be during the day either first thing like 8-11 or late afternoon/early evening.

we've been co-sleeping but have been thinking of moving bubs into his own room and cot anyone got any ideas?

I have the close carrier also and absolutely love it. I use it at home and at the shops. It is great.

Our awake between feeds time is usually in the morning from about 8:30 till 10:30-11ish.

have a sleepy bub and mum here!! bed at 1am...up at 15 to 4, down at 5:45, uop at 7:30, then slept on dads chest till 9:30! Susie usually has an awake period in the morning before 10, and then another one late at night!

reading lots of rave reviews on the close carrier!! it looks really quick and easy to use too...just like using a wrap but with pre wrapped! gotta talk to DH!

eta: aww fluffy lime sold out but have found somewhere else with them on special DH said yes!
