lots of tongue out here too! more spew than drible though! poor thing,...i had pizza sat and lasagbe yest and she woke up screazming ar 2:30am this morning with a few huge burps to follow....oops tumnmy still sensitive i guess!

well i expressed 30ml manually yest, brett tried giving it to her yest (closer to nature bottles) and sh was none to impressed, only got abut 5 ml i recjon so we stopped and i breastfed her. found a few diffreenthints though...had milk at room temp so next timewill warm up more, also gonna offer it when she not so hungry . wondering though...shes 3 months in a fortnight...should we consider moving to the 3 month teats yet or wait another fortnight?? I bought a medela swing today too to make expressing easier lol!

Susie is so much more happy and alert and awake. still very colicky, but she is loving playtime now, giving us lits of smiles. trying to giggle so wont be long~!

Susie had her immunisations last thursday...screamed to high heaen as theu went in...spewed afterr the drops but gave her boob in the waiting room and she fell asleep. very upset later in the avo, and was awake rom 3 till 7 the next morning! but all in all not too bad!!

helen - way to go on the cloth! we're styill using prefolds here but am gonna have to start thinking about what we'll do in a month or two when she outgrows them! i wanted to make them myself but i never get time without susie during the week, she rarely sleeps during the day and when she does its usually in my arms. i dont mind that, especially whilst shes colicky and refluxy, it works for us, but it makes sewing impossible..wearing her on a sling wouldnt help in that situation!!

kel - glad u enjoyed pink, i've heard her concerts are awesome! ont sure exactly when we'll start solids...when she asks for it i guess!

Mrs C, you can try the 3 month teats. If it's too fast a flow for Susie you'll know because all the milk run out of her mouth or she'll be doing lots of big swallows

Kodi is becoming a little dribbler & is always sucking her fist or fingers. She loves sitting the bumbo now.
We go for her 3 month check up on Thursday, I wonder if she has cracked the 6kg mark yet.

Question How many babies are using a dummy here?
Kodi flat out refuses a dummy, If you try to give her one she gags, screams louder or just pushes it out with her tongue.

The same thing happens here. We have tried offering a few different types and at different times but no luck...

I have a question... DD went to sleep at about 7:45pm last night and is still sleeping now... should I be waking her up? Is that too long to be sleeping at this stage? She usually has a feed at around 4am...

We are using a dummy here (much to her Nana's disgust)
She seems to like it, however i tend to only use it to settle her at night and in the car if she is upset. She will take any dummy in any shape or form.
I wonder at what point i should take it away, i dont want her at two or three with a dummy in her mouth??

Jitterbug i wouldnt wake her up im sure she will be up soon and hungry
Maybe this is the start of her skipping her night feed!

JB i wouldn't wake her, she'll wake when she's hungry. If she just went through her 12wk G/S, then she'll be sleeping more. She may even be dropping her night feeds.

Kell, Maddi still has a dummy & shows no signs of getting rid of it anytime soon.
If Ella only has it to settle then it shouldn't be too hard to get rid of.
Maddi has her as a comfort which is why it's so hard to get rid of it.

Yeah, she seems okay. It is a worry when they do something you don't expect. She woke up just after 8 with a very, very wet nappy and had a huge feed. Probably a fluke or like you say Mo, coming out of a growth spurt. Well, it was nice to have a night of uninterupted sleep even if it turns out to just be a once off!

Oh and Immy definitely wins the tongue award! I always thought it was big but sort of put it to the back of my mind till you girls mentioned it the other day! I think she had fun showing it off to you, she hasn't stopped since! I guess I have to face the facts, my little one is quite the lizard hehe.

no dummy here either, haent tried one. occassionally she wants to suck our finger but its pretty rare.

howmuch sleep is everyone little one getting? susie doesnt seem to get as much as i thought she would...few catnaps during theday and 6 - 8 hours at night...doent seem enough. occassionally she'll have a 2 0 3 hour sleep in the day but not always. i have been following her lead though..should i be being more proactive getting her to sleep in day?

Mrs C-Kodi barely sleeps through the day, she'll have a big nap 1-3hrs during the day but that depends on Maddi. Usually all 3 of lay down & have a nice sleep.
Usually she cat-naps in my arms. She'll go down around 7pm wake at 10pm for a feed, Then sleep till 6:30am when Maddi wakes up.
Usually K will have a snack feed at 2-3am, she wont wake up she'll just make little noises while looking for the boob lol.

JB-I Hope the sleeping through continues for you, it's always nice to get the extra rest

thanks Mo, nice to hear susie isnt the only one catmnapping in mummys arms! shes usually only in bed from 11:30/12 till 7/8 but does catnap during the evening/night. maybe i'll try putting her down in the evenings! see if that works

OMG at our Mums group today, they have all got there kids in pre prep(im in qld) for 2013, i had no idea i even had to think about this when my baby is not even four months

Ella catnaps in the day too, she has a big sleep overnight, i hope she is getting enough

Motherhood seems to be worry worry worry sometimes, well a lot of times actually!

wow Kell!! I dont even know where we'll be living in 6 months let alone 3 years so no, I haven't thought of it either!!

have my first blocked milk duct....yipppeee! at first i thought - ew a pimple..then realised no, thats bound to be a blocked duct!! hoping i can get it to go away without it turning into mastitis!

we were up at 4 again last night...its not growth spurt time is it? 11.5 weeks old. she seems so sleepy lately .. falls asleep at the breast much more than normal ( so i then have to try and wake her to burp her lol)

Hi guys sorry I've been a bit absent hubby's been in Mildura so haven't had a spare moment to think.
We haven't been using a dummy although my sis told me I should as David sucks his hand a bit, but MCHN said he's just learning what his mouth is and that his hand is attached to him and not to worry about using one.

I hadn't even thought about preprep is that like preschool?? I hadn't thought of kinder or preschool yet

MrsC_Aussie I'd say its quite possibly a growth spurt we're 11 weeks and for some reason bubs has started doing 3hourly feeds of a night when he was doing 5 hour stints before. Apparently there is a growth spurt at 11-12 weeks. I'll be glad when he starts sleeping through the night

no dummy here, she prefers her fingers.
DD1 had a dummy for sleep time from about 2 months til about 18months or so.

i went in to get chelsea after her sleep today and she was on her back, funny cause i put her down on her tummy! she rolled! :-) she wont do it when i am watching though so maybe it was a fluke.

also, i have noticed she is doing a few burps by herself now. gotta go she is crying.

Things at the health went poorly.
Kodi has only gained 60g in 3wks & Maddi is losing weight because of her eating habit's.
M needs to see a Dietician & possibly a Paed if the Dr think she needs it.
Hopefully next week will be better.

Thanks Linda, i really thought Maddi would be over he fussy food habit's by now & everyone keeps saying she'll eat real food when she's hungry but the thing is she wont, she will goto bed hungry, she will go the whole without eating or drinking.
We are booked into see a dietician next week for her & i'll ring tomorrow and make an appt to see a Paed tomorrow.
Hopefully next week we will have a plan to get her back on track.
As for Kodi's poor weight gain i'm hoping once i have the iron infusion on Saturday i'll start picking up & then hopefully Kodi's feeding will improve.

oh sweetie low iron was one of the reasons i could not continue feeding but i have it all the time

Accupunture helps with iron

Maddi will work it out have you tried making it fun or even growing things like carrots etc with her it is just a thought
