Just a quick question - how much are all of your bubs sleeping during the day?
I aim for 2-3 naps during the day but each time involves a bout of screaming and me singing twinkle twinkle for around 10mins before she falls asleep and then she wakes up after only 30mins of being asleep (whether she is in my arms/carrier/put down in cot) I know that this is common but has anyone had any success getting them to sleep longer? Maybe keeping them awake for longer so that they are more tired or something like that?

So, I had a wisdom tooth pulled today! FUN... not. Okay, so it wasn't too bad and needed to be done but I just wish it would stop bleeding so I could eat something haha.
We usually get 3 naps during the day at 9am for about an hour, 11am for about an hour and 2pm for a couple of hours. Then bed between 7 and 8pm, one feed sometime between 11pm and 5am (it varies quite substantially but is usually just the one) and then up for the day between 7 and 8am. Last night was 7:30pm till 6:30am although I didn't sleep too good because of my stupid sore teeth!
I wonder why we have wisdom teeth when every second person I know has had to have them out. Grr!!
And yep, ff, we will have to catch up... hopefully, my tooth doesn't give me grieve for too much longer.

ewww jitter! hope you feel better soon and the bleeding stops! if you have soup have it watm not hot cause the heat can start up the bleeding again apparently!
we had 4 month immun today! drank the liquid like a pro! screamed intensely witrh jabs but settled quickly then had a feed! got confirmation of teething...bottom two are on the move apparently! so poor bubba is dealing with teething, needles on top of her reflux and wind problems! been an awful afternoon and am sure it will continue through the evening!
Oh forgot to mention this but Imogen rolled from her back to her tummy the other day and has a few times since! It looks a bit unco-ordinated and awkward but she will get there haha
JB glad the bleeding has stopped, at least you get to live on sweet things for a day or 2.
How cute of Immy, Kodi is the same but she gets her stuck & can't roll right over looks cute.

Justine Kodi has 3 naps a day sometimes 4. She's big on sleeping unlike her sister.
Mrs C glad Susie went well with her needles, Kodi pretty much spat out the liquid, she's hates anything other than the boob & her hands in her mouth.
Took Maddi to the paed on Tuesday(won't bore you with the details) & while we were there, i got him to check out Kodi's head.
Her head is growing slowly, but she's in the 25% now. So we are to get her head measured regularly.
That way they can get an idea of what her head is doing, as long as it's growing it's a good sign & she may just be a petite girl
Olivia has 3 or 4 sleep during the day, usually 2 45mins and one 1 and 1/2 hours but in my arms/sling after 30 minutes of screaming usually each time before she will sleep!

Mo I remember reading about the head circ thing. Miss T had the same measurement 2 months in a row. I just measured her again today and she has grown 2 cm this month. She is very petite all round (we are pretty small parents). I think the measurements and charts are just a guide anyway. I'm sure your blossom is fine!
JB - wisdom teeth are useless eh! I had all mine out with much pain each time (in the chair). The pain may make you wise!
Mrs C -wow you have had a rough time of it. I hope things get easier soon. Reflux is such a drain on your energy.
FF - As for sleep - Miss T is doing all night sleeps with a quick BF in middle hours sometime. Goes down 7.30 ish and wakes 6.30ish. During the day she sleeps around 9.30am to lunch time and down again in avo for a couple of hours. Then a nap in late avo is common too. No strict routine there. If I put in cot to self settle she cries a bit but eventually sleeps. Often feeds to sleep - no dummy just mummy like Kodi!
I often feed Kodi to sleep as she is such a booby girl.
SP-If the paed isn't too worried then i'm not going to worry either. She's above average for height, average for weight & below average for head circ so kinda hoping everything else slows or her head growth picks ups.
Don't want her to have a small head on a above average body IYKWIM.
We normally get two sleeps a day, normally a 2 to 3 hr in the morning and a hour or so in the arvo. somedays its a fight to get her to sleep and others days she goes down easily
We are back to the doctors today, Ellas ear is still sore
However She was 7.9kg yest and 68cm, so growing well
Our little babies are growing up so fast!
Wow kellbell- you are a great cow, 7.9kg is great! Ear infections are horrible. Is she on AB's?
Mo- Sorry i haven't messaged you back! Will do so today! We've all been sick too. After i had mastitis i got thrush in my throat. not very comfortable! But on the mend now. Lu's latest measurements put everything on average except her head........ but unlike Kodi her head is bigger than her body. Hope i don't end up with a bratz doll.
funkeefrog- We're having about 3 day sleeps here. 45 min - 1 1/2 hrs is pretty standard. If your little munchkin is waking after one sleep cyle, a trick that worked for me with my older daughter, was to sit in there reading a book and when she was starting to stir i would pat her until she went back to sleep. After a couple of days she learnt to go back to sleep after one sleep cycle. Having said that, there was a couple of months when she just would not sleep longer than 45 min. So hopefully it is a phase that will end soon!
JB- wisdom teeth are not nice. i had 3 out, but i had a GA. It was horrible. Nice work on Imogen rolling. We've had a bit of rolling going on to. Often assisted by her big sister.
Went to the paed last week. Sas has a terrible cough she has had since she born pretty much. We had a chest x-ray and all is clear. Dr pretty convinced it is due to reflux. Good to know it is nothing serious.
ugh i hate fridays! recycle bin collectors come so ewarly...7:30 after gettuing to sleep at 12 makes a tired bubby and mummy!
Susie sleeps are so over the place with stuppod wind reflux, but on a good day she usualyy has 8 - 10 hours at night, and a big nap in the morning with a couple of short ones afternoon/evening. feedming to sleep would be lovely but cant cause of her wind/reflux issues! she usually cries/whimpers to sleep uin our arms..gotta love continual overtired

Based on weight Kell, i think it is 8kg form memory, but don't quote me on that. There are a lot of people that keep them rear facing up until 12 months, there is a video on utube showing the impact difference if you have a car accident. It is much safer having them rear facing. We turned Lu around at about 6 months though b/c she hated not being able to see us..........
If AB's are not working within 24hrs, i'd go back to drs, she might need different ones. It does make you feel good when you have great weight gains doesn't it.
MrsC- Were you up until midnight with an unsettled bub? You poor thing.
Kell like Ange we turned Maddi around at 6 months for the same reasons.
wtg Ella, she is doing fantastic! I'm looking forward to getting Kodi weighed next week.

Everything is going well here, starting to plan Maddi's 2nd birthday(Can't believe she'll be 2 so soon) & Kodi thinks she's so clever with the rolling, every time i goto change her nappy she decides to roll right in the middle of the change.
Kell we are having a family BBQ again but with a Dora theme. M is obsessed with Dora at the moment.
She'll probably have a small party with her playgroup friends at playgroup as well
susie went back down at 10 and slept till I got her up at 1:30. she was hard to rouse but cant let her have toooo long a break between feeds in the day!!
I think its interesting actually that other western countries have 12 months as the legal age for forward facing seats. we hoping to keep susie rearward till then
Dora party sounds fun Mo! I cant wait for Susie's birthday parties!! go Kodi with all that rolling! Susie rolled onto her side when we were in darwin from her back but nothing else as yet! fun watching her try a bit!
Flaguni - late nights are par for the course with susie! mind you we were out at a class till 10:30 so kinda delayed her unsettled time! but yeah Susie has been a night owl due to her wind/reflux since birth! but she does usually do long sleeps once she gets there!
it was a good course we went to by the way, was an infant first aid course. learnt how to do basic first aid, deal with cuts, burns, croup
