Not much to report here. Imogen slept in till 8am this morning but that was probably because we were at my parents last night and did not get home till about 11pm!
We have a quiet weekend, Jason got called into work.
We did have a picnic down at the water at manly, Ella fell asleep on the rug, dosent want to nap at home we go out and she crashes.... babies!
Doc says her ear is better, Abs finished, hopefully better week coming up
Firstly just wanna say JB Immy is a real little cutie
Not doing anything exciting here, spent today watching supernatural season 1 & i plan on doing the same thing tomorrow, I am going to hopefully get a copy of trueblood tomorrow if the person brings it back on time
Thanks Mo I must say I have been peaking through your pictures too and your girls are very adorable! So jealous of the hair... Immy is such a baldy like her father!
Haven't been doing much this weekend. Went to my parents Friday night, had friends over today to play guitar hero (haha... I am very much a teenager still) and then went to my parents again tonight since we had to drop some friends out that way anyway. Tomorrow we will probably just hang about at home and maybe do some cleaning (our place looks like a 14yr old males bedroom... smells a tad nicer though).
Hey Hollo! Good luck for the party tomorrow, hope you all have a ball, especially the special girlie Hannah. Always love hearing about Immy's twinie, Chelsea, although 6:30 ekk!!
Good to hear that Ella is on the mend, kellbell xo
glad Ella is doing better KB!!
Have fun partying today Hollo!!
we've been haing a funny few days. my milk supply feels like its completely dwindled...Im hoping its more just that Susuie is growth spurting. shes draining both sides at every feed and by late avo/evening shes on there for an hour or more cause its just so slow! also had a 4am feed yesterday and a 5am one today. Im praying all this nursing boosts my supply back up a bit! gonna try having oats for breakfast too, read somewhere last night they help with milk production! She's still having heaps of wet nappies, she is just getting frustrated at working so hard! Hubby is sick atm too, has been all week and no sign of getting better. he's doing wat he can to help, kicked me out of the house for 1.5 hours yesterday which was nice! church is in 20 minutes but cause Susie been fussy (we think she may hAve a bit of the bug too) I dont want to take her...not that Im even showered and shes eating lol
hi all,
the party was great fun! hannah had such a good time. the weather was greta. its usually cold and windy this time of year but yesterday was on the warm to hot side! :-)
MRsC- i think breastfed bubs just go through stages of feeding. sometimes they are feeding 3 hourly sometimes hourly. i just kinda think you gotta go with the flow. its not usual that you run out of supply (so i;m told) so you just have to perservere.
having said that, i am very FRUSTRATED and tired. chelsea seems to be having one of those periods. last night she fed hourly and then woke up at 6am! but in between feeds she was so resltess and fidgety that i got hardly any sleep! i am just thinking to myself.. its a phase, its a phase, it will get better! LOL
jitterbug- i hear ya on the hair thing.. chelsea is still a baldy. well she has a fine fuzz now and it is really light/gingery so from a distance she looks bald!
i hear ya on the house cleaning thing too, i get so sick of doing the same chores everyday!
we are going to the immunologist today to see if hannah is still allergic to egg. hope she has grown out of it!
Hollo happy birthday to Hannah & hope she grown out of her allergy to egg
MrsC if you think your supply really is going down you can try taking Fengugreek to boost it, but i'd give it a couple of days to see if Susie settles easier.
JB We use to have guitar hero's but we sold our Wii to get a PS3, so now we just singstar lol
Maddi loves hearing herself on the mic!
Ear infection is back, Ella is on some ear drops now, i feel like
I wish i could take away her pain for her
Also found out today my single unemployed sister is law who still lives with my MIL at home is booked in for IVF as she wants a baby, i dont know how to feel about it. She hasnt worked for years yet our system lets her go and have IVF, and then shell be on even more welfare. She is hoping for triplets, i think the whole thing is wrong but i like her as person and want to be supportive. Sorry for the vent
Happy birthday to Hannah, has she grown out of her allergy to egg?
just a quick update, Susue slept an 8 hour block again last night yay - cept i woke up at 5 and couldnt get back to sleep for ages rofl. but milk was back in so much she didnt even finish the first side at her first feed to back to normal yay! I have started haing oats for breakfast and made anzac cookie as I heard that can help as well but I think most of the credit goes to Susie's suckling!!
Imogen is 5 months old today! Crazy to think about. Just one more month and she will have been here for half a year. 9 months will be an interesting milestone... longer out than in!
Good to hear, MrsC.
That's adorable, Mo! A little diva in the making
Sorry to hear about Ella's ear infection, hope she is feeling better soon, kellbell.
Glad the party went well, Hollo. Hope it is good news about the egg alergy.
just quickly, hannah didnt have a reaction to this egg test. the doc said though to still wait a year until giving her pure egg because there is a range of reaction that the test doesnt pick up.. if that makes sense. but generally after a negative reaction to the skin pr*ck test they are good to go after a year! so YAY!
We had a really good weekend, caught up with friends on Saturday and then my Nonna (grandma) was in Brisbane yesterday so she met Alexandra for the first time. She was so excited DP thought she was gonna wet her pants It's her first great grandchild. We went to her friends place for lunch and i haven't had so much food in a long time. They are italian so there was appetisers and alcohol, then pasta (lasagne and ravioli) and more wine then roast meat and vegies and then watermelon and fruits and homemade dessert alcohol. I only had a few sips of this stuff called lemoncello - almost 50% alcohol.
I have started putting Alexandra in her cot to sleep because i am sick of cosleeping, i want to be able to sleep on my back or on my other side without having to worry about where she is. So the last 3 nights instead of feeding to sleep i have put her in her cot and she has self settled!
kellbell - i hope ella's ear infection clears up for good this time, my sister used to get them really bad all the time when she was little and had to have grommits. Alexandra hasn't been sick yet and i am dreading just the thought of it. What does the rest of your family think about your SIL having IVF?
MrsC - glad to hear that Susie's feeding is back to normal, Hollo - hope that Chelsea is back to normal super quick too
JB - are your gums all better now from your wisdom teeth? I had 3 taken out a few years ago and my jaw locked up and i couldn't even get a spoon between my teeth to eat jelly or custard. Had to settle for lots of mashed potato and KFC potato and gravy on a fork. I have one left to come out but have been putting it off for about a year
Wow Justine, what a feast of food!!!!!
My mouth is watering just reading about it
Gosh the dessert alcoholic sounds strong, a think a sip would knock me over
Yah for Alexandra resettling in her own cot, what a clever bubba
Yes i hope the drops work this week, she has psedumonas in there, so doc says its hard to treat.
My MIL is all for it, wants her to have as many multiples as possible however my father in law thinks she is ruining her life, and wants no part of it. Not a lot of other family members know. she is so young 26 and is really pretty, i wish she would find some one nice to have bubbas with. I really think she has no clue what looking after twins/triplets would be like. She plays her computer all night and sleeps all day. She has names picked out and talks about dressing them up all the time. Motherhood as we know is alot more and harder than that!
There was no screening process or anything, just booked her in
Wow Kell, can't believe they just booked her in, It'd be a little shocked as-well.
I think some people just don't realize how much hard work kids actually are. Maddi is more hard work now than was she was a baby. She always has to be entertained, runs off on me, throws a tantrum like you wouldn't believe, the list is endless lol
Hope Ella's ear gets better soon poor bubba.
Justine that feast sounds yummy, it's been so long since i had a drink i think i'd only need a few sips to feel tipsy.
Hollo great news about Hannah, must be so a relief for you.
Mrs C Good work to Susie getting your supply back up.
JB yep Maddi is a real little diva, i really feel sorry for all her future boyfriends lol
AFU
Kodi had her weigh in today, head is starting to grow Yay, She is 62cms & 6.3kg.
I was looking at pics of Maddi at 5 months yesterday & she just has rolls & rolls of fat, Kodi just has the chubby legs but still has nothing on Maddison lol. Definitely think Kodi is going to be my dainty little princess.
Mo that's awesome that Kodi's head is growing! We were counting Alexandra's fat rolls in the bath today If she leans to one side she has 5-6 fat rolls depending on which side it is. My mum reckons that she has got fat rolls where none of us kids had them and was just over 8kg at her 4 month needles and check up.
Kell, maybe your SIL needs to do some babysitting for you to realise what it is like looking after one bub let alone 2, 3 or possibly even 4. Do you think she would make a good mum?
awww, i wish my kids had fat rolls.... they can have some of mine! LOL chelsea was 6.5kg at her 4 month needles! i looked up hannahs stats from her birth record book and chelsea is slightly bigger in all areas but they are pretty much the same.
i know i said i was gonna wait til 6 months to give solids but i am thinking i might try it real soon. my main worry was the potential for causing an allergy but we spoke to immunoligist at hannahs appointment and he said that there isnt any evidence for early solids introduction and higher chance of allergy. i think its more that if you give a younger child a 'typically allergenic food' eg cow milk between 4-8 months then there is more chance of a reaction to it but by the time they get to 12months they would have grown out of it ... make sense? like hannah was really allergic to egg at 9 months, a bit better at 2 years and gone at 3 years so if i had waited til 3 years to give her egg i wouldnt have known she was allergic at all.. know what i mean?
