Just popping in to say hello. We had a nice weekend, went to a tupperware party - I haven't been to one for years and it has changed so much from what I remember - and I went to brunch with the girls (my 3 close friends) without bub which was good.
Alexandra seems to be much happier on her belly now that she is consistently rolling and scooting around. She loves to move her bum around in circles to twist herself around (if that makes sense) I bought the solids booklet from the ABA and should get it in the mail tomorrow so i'm hoping to start trying solids soon. We are going overseas in October for a couple of months and I want to have some kind of routine established and make sure there aren't any reactions to a variety of foods.
Atm she has 6-8 feeds a day and is still self settling in her cot which I am super excited about. I think that having a specific musical tune playing during her last feed before bed and when i put her in the cot is really helping. She hears the music and knows it's bed time. DP wants her to still be sleeping in our bed but especially with this warmer weather she is definitely starting off in the cot and will probably end up in the bed by the morning anyway
FF- wow thats great that your DP wants to co-sleep, you dont hear of the daddy wanting bub in bed with them too often! :-) where are you going overseas?
i have been giving chels solids each day, she seems to swallow most of it but she is sucking it off the spoon more than chomping it off (iykwim) and she isnt opening her mouth wide like hannah did so it is kind of annoying having to push it in there LOL she is enjoying it though so i guess i will keep it up.
chelsea isnt crawling but god she is moving around. she can twist herself around in circles too, and move from one end of the rug to the other and back again.
it has been soooo hot here (brissy) so i got hannahs little clam pool out yesterday and they both had a splash. i went through hannahs old clothes and pulled out her first pair of togs, which fit chelsea. so cute! :-)
DP is so funny - he is extremely protective and is always the one making sure she isn't cold (or hot atm) and he almost runs on the rare occasion that she cries. He wasn't very good when I first started putting her in the cot to self settle even though she didn't really scream, was only whinging, and he reckons that she's too small to be in the cot by herself
I have been giving Alexandra extra feeds because of the heat. Pretty much whenever I sit down with a cold drink I will offer her a feed too. Is anyone giving their bubs water?
I bet that Chelsea and Hannah loved the water Hollo. I've been thinking about swimming lessons because we will be at my sister's for christmas and she has a pool. We're going to Russia for a couple of months to visit DP's family. He hasn't been there for 8 years so he is really looking forward to it and of course they can't wait to meet the baby.
We have been offering Immy water, just because I wanted her to get used to it before we brought in food and it has been super hot. Been giving extra feeds also.
We are heading to Sydney this weekend (leave Friday morning and get back Sunday night). Should be good. We are seeing my Grandparents (so Imogen's Great Grandparents) and some other family members!
Susie loved the farex! and pumpin! we gave her a bit of pumpkin last friday, just a lil and she thought it was marvellous! monday we tred farex and she ate up a fair bit, prob about 1/4 of the quantity on th back of the packet! not gonna give it every day just yet, just when she is asking for it
