Hi All,
Alexandra is trying so desperately hard to crawl, it's so funny. She pushes up on her arms and brings her legs up and ends up going further backwards and further away from her toys, poor little thing. Not much happening here apart from being busy preparing for our trip. We're in the process of getting passports, visas, booked our flights today :) We're moving up north when we get back so have to pack up all of our stuff and put it in storage before we go.
JB - hope you had a good trip, I bet the relatives love Immy
Mo - What are you doing for Maddi's b'day?
-
FF - it was you that was moving - I think I mixed things up - So you are moving further north - that should be warm!
Tirion is doing the same backwards movement but it is more of a creep than a crawl at the moment. The frustration should do them good to help them want to work out the crawling thing.
Hey nice work on getting Alexandra down in her cot. Have you started the solids yet? We are moving on from apples, pumpkin and cereal this week. I think I will make some squash and maybe try avocado.
I cant wait til she can eat porridge with me in the morning.
Sometimes when I put her to bed I miss her at night! It seems so weird as it my time out but she is just so lovely.
-
FF we are hvaing a BBQ with a Dora theme, So we have a dora pinata, dora cake, pink, purple & yellow balloons, streamers etc..
Kodi does the same backwards action, brings back so many memories of Maddi doing the same stuff.
SP-good luck with the avo & squash I remember Maddi loved avo & Banana when we first started solids.
Kodi is still not the least bit interested in solids yet & she's back to feeding 4 hourly so we will till she 6 months & go straight for the veggies i think.
-
Phoenix - I used to love doing themed bday parties for the boys and am looking forward to it again. I am not up with Dora but sure I soon will be! Have fun with that!
my Josh did not care for solids for ages pat 6 months but my Ben loved them from 5 months. miss T just cant get enough and started at 4 months. I laughed when the health nurse said that we should start at 4 months now as new studies show no probs with allergies! When you have been a mum as long as I have you realise thigns always just keep changing incessantly and you need to make up your own mind.
-
SP - I think that JB is moving too, just to confuse you even more :) I'm a little bit woried about the move because we're going overseas and will be coming from -20 to 40+ degree heat. will be nice to see snow but.
Haven't started solids yet, will probably try in the next few days. I have a feeling that she isn't quite ready yet, so we'll see what happens.
-
ahhh I feel good getting to bed at 10:15 last night! up from 4:15 till 6 then bed for a couple more hours. very good!
my clever little girl rolled from her tummy to her back last night!! shes loving naked massage and tummy time at night that we started this week! and voila all of a sudden she was on her back!! we're not feeding solids every day, just every couple of days for the moment, making it fun! but she loves it alright :)
Funkee - phewwww thats a huge temperature change!! hope you have a good move!!
-
Mrs C - I hope you have many more improvements in your nights sleep! It is amazing how much more human you feel when you actually sleep for a few extra hours eh!
Go Suzie with the rolling. It is exciting to watch them progress.
FF - I was just thinking that the pain of OS travel is the time zones too. At least bubs is small but you will still notice a difference with sleep wake cycle.
Interesting to hear that it is warm in QLD already. We had 20 deg in Melbourne the other day but that was very out of the ordinary. Isnt the smell of spring motivating! I think we will walk again this morning. Need to shed the winter kilos. Always hungry at the moment:p
-
Thought i'd bump us back upto the 1st page.
Hope all the Daddies had a great fathers day & all the 1st time daddies had an extra special day :)
-
Sorry I haven't written much lately. I'm having a pretty rough time. My Grandpa is in hospital. I've spent the weekend down there but had to come back since DP has work.
DP's leave application was denied because there has been a freeze on any time-off since others have taken so much lately that they are falling behind... so everyone else doing it has meant we can't when we really need it. They said it will be lifted at the start of November...
I also have lost my engagement ring. My beautiful engagement ring. The worst part is I think I left it in a shopping center bathroom so I'm wondering what the chances are of me getting it back :(
Imogen's sleep is all over the place. The other night she was up from 8:30pm to 2:45am and then woke again at 4:30am... last night was a bit better but it is all so unpredictable.
Arghhhhhhhhhhhhh :(
-
JB - I really hope that things start to look up for you soon. Fingers crossed that an honest person found your ring and handed it in to shopping centre management.
SP - We're lucky in that there will only be a 1-2 hours time zone difference when we are overseas so it shouldn't be too bad. I'm not looking forward to the 10 hr flight to Seoul during the day, at least our return flight is an overnighter so hopefully Alexandra will sleep most of the way.
MrsC - Yay on the sleep and the rolling!
Alexandra just rolled over onto her belly in her sleep and woke herself up in a fright, poor little thing. We have started on solids with pumpkin and also some watermelon in one of those mesh feeder things. She loves watermelon! I took it out of her hands to try to move the watermelon down and she started screaming :D I think we're going to try avocado tomorrow. We had a quiet father's day today, I had a killer headache and slept for 3 hours in the middle of the day but we still managed to have a nice late lunch together.
Hoper everyone else is well
-
JB - Hugs for you! Yes hope your ring is handed in by an honest soul! And that you all get that break soon and some rest
FF - I must try watermelon in the mesh bag thingy. I bought one on a special but havent used it yet.
Oh Seoul should be fine re time zones. Cool
Happy Fathers day to all the Dads for yesterday.
We (Miss T and I) made a special hand and foot print card for Dad. We went for a quiet lunch together at the bakery and had champagne with our own Dads in the late avo. We watched Never ending story with DS 1 &2 in the p.m.
Tirion just rolled from tummy to back to tummy to back to push over the cup tower as we speak!
-
Oh no JB i really hope you find or get the ring back.
I'm looking forward to starting K on solids, I love the faces they make when trying new foods.
Not really a fan of the poo's tho lol
So who here is thinking of TTC again soon?
-
just quickly...... god no, not me :-/
-
-
We are going to try after xmas, although i hope to breastfeed for 12 months so i dont see it happening till after that
-
I'd like to have another soonish, but i also want a slightly bigger gap this time round.
I don't see us TTC till Kodi is at least 12 months.
-
wow it has been a long time since i have posted. the time seems to be on warp speed at the moment.
JB- sorry to hear about your ring i know just how u feel i took off my necklace about xmas time which had my engagement ring as well as my eternity ring for my 1st son and it has gone. i have searched everywhere, i was so upset.
Allyeria will be 6mths in 2 days and she doesn't seem to be my little bubba anymore she is rolling around everywhere, eating solids like a champ (finally) and pushing up to crawl position and rocking backwards and forwards. i got her ears pierced a few weeks ago she looks soo cute even her daddy thinks so after i surprised him with it done(he knew it was going to happen soon) my FIL thinks its barbarick but she handled it really well.
she is now wearing size 0 clothes which is sad cos some of the really cute dresses she has barely worn. she has 4 200-250ml feeds plus 1 tin of food a day. will get her weighed next tuesday when we go in for her needles.
sorry for the long post. sounds like all our little bubbas are thriving.
take care

Ella is six months today, i cant believe it :D
She is into everything. , Arhhh i need to babyproof this house, she goes straight for under the tv!
-
Kell i bet Ella starts walking early. (I saw the pics on FB.) Ella is so much like Maddi.
Maddi was sitting by herself at 5 months, crawling at 7 months & walking at 10 & half months.
Kodi is just so much more daintier than Maddi, that i don't see her crawling etc for awhile yet.
Happy 6 Months Ella!
-
hey girls,
chelsea has just started sitting properly this week. she cant sit for AGES but sits upright and can re-balance herself if she is falling sideways. she still wobbles over though. i reckon she will be crawling early too as she can get around by pushing and pulling herself (grabbing onto the carpet, toys, cushions etc) and rolling. she is gonna be full on!
her second tooth came through and i was hoping for a break but i think tehre is another one on the way. i hate the teething stage!
happy 6months ella! and allyeria (in a day or so)!
wow, allyeria is growing really well, size 0 already! chelsea is starting to slim down/ not gain as fast. just like hannah did. she is now in the 50th percentile for weight (was previously in the 90th) so i am just waiitng for the GP to get worried and want extra weigh ins. i wish i had chubby bubbys, less to worry about!
i have been getting back into the gym, leaving the girls in the creche there. chelsea screams her head off most of the time i am told. which is wierd cause she is usually pretty good with strangers. i think its her teeth hurting her. havent bloody lost any weight yet though! frustrating. i am wondering if it has somethign to do with a side effect of my contraceptive device.
anyway, take care everyone!
-
No more babies on the horizon for us anytime soon. Between going overseas and then moving, new job, new town, new house, I think we'll be waiting til everything settles down. I'm thinking a 2 1/2 to 3 year age gap would be good.
How long have you been going to the gym Hollo? My mum has recently started eating alot more healthy food and going walking a few times a week and she was really frustrated at first and then started to lose a few hundred grams a week, and now she's lost more than 7kg. Make sure that you are having small snacks to keep your metabolism going too.
-
well i havent been going frequently enough really. i do need to keep an eye on my food intake too. its just so hard. got my 10 year reunion on next month, and being 10-15kg overweight is the only downer about going! but then again, i'm sure everyone isnt as skinny as they used to be in highschool.. well i hope not anyway LOL
i am planning on going at least 3 times a week from next week! funny how it always starts from 'tomorrow' or 'next week' LOL
-
You remember how I said I would never run out of petrol again. Last night, 10pm, middle of nowhere with no phone credit. Ughhh becoming a parent really doesn't make you anymore responsible, just more accountable.
I've started walking everyday, Hollo and am feeling fantastic! I always find it hard to get out the door but once I'm in the midst of it, I don't want to stop! You can do it!!! I haven't lost any weight because I eat too much stuff that I shouldn't but I do feel better for it, so I guess that is a plus. I have my 5yr reunion next year but not sure I am going to bother going haha.
Happy 6 Months to those coming up for it. Imogen has hers in 5 days! Scary to think.
-
Nice to hear from treena217. I know what you mean by time going extremely fast. I went into my work place so the crew could meet Tirion and my boss wants me back full time! I want to go back part time next year - he has no choice about it really as it is in the nurses award. Anyway it made me really value my precious time left with bubs. Wish someone would leave me a fortune!!!!
As for TTC Mo - the jury is out for now - so many pros and cons and too wise of years to rush the decision - but would love to have one more!
Hollo - Tirion is on 50th percentile for everything but fits 0s and 00s still. She wears big cloth nappies which make the 0s fit better mostly and cannot wear jeans.
Does anyone else have difficulty getting their baby into jeans or pants? I give up - we have bloomers and stretch pants only.
Where are these blinking TEETH? So sick of the teething with no show!
-
I had a bit of a "am I pregnant" scare! Period late, feeling really off... so far two tests three days apart have been negative so I am relieved. It made me realise how much I am not ready for another one just yet.
-
-
yeah i had one of those JB! scary hey! LOL i dont think i could cope with an 'accident' yet! i have the implanon though so hopefully it is doing its job. speaking of these things.. anyone feeling sore still while DTD? i am still hurtin, so havent been doing it very much! i had an episiotomy which i think is why it is still hurting.
-
I had a tear which required stitches and am still getting a little bit of pain. I'm going to a gyno on Tuesday because a combination of things happening down there.
-
I still haven't got AF back yet.
FF hope everything goes well at the gyno appt tomorrow.
JB i am yet to run out of fuel, it helps we have duel fuel so if i run out of 1 i always have a back up.
How did you go with your engagement ring?
HI to everyone else :)
-
Thanks Mo. I haven't got AF back yet either. Haha, I just realised that today is Monday and that Tuesday is actually tomorrow. I am so out of it at the moment. Alexandra's sleeping is a bit out of whack and she has gone to sleep for a nap in the afternoon and then not woken up except for a feed and then straight back to sleep. Which means that she was up before 5am this morning and on top of that she is also feeding almost 2 hrly! Hopefully I can get the sleep thing sorted today and her feeding will settle down soon
-
My Mum stopped in early this morning on her way to the Gold Coast. It seems that overnight, my Grandfather (Dad's Dad) has passed away of a heart attack. He was suffering from dementia and had been having a bad time so I think he is probably now at peace but it is still so very hard; he is my first Grandparent to leave us. I feel so upset for my Dad as he was very close to his parents and these last few months as his Dad started to deteriorate have been really difficult. I also cannot stop thinking about my Grandma and how hard this must be for her. I am so happy that Imogen got to meet her Great Grandpa and that my Dad had a chance to show off his Granddaughter to him. It was still a shock although he had been unwell recently (some of you know I had been down the Gold Coast the prior weekend because of this). RIP Poppy, loved and missed.
I have had one AF (a little over a month ago now) and so that is why I was stressing... I know everyone says it takes time to regulate, especially whilst breastfeeding but then I think my mind started playing tricks on me and I was feeling really nauseous and just off.
No luck with the engagement ring. I have pretty much lost all hope on its return.
-
JB I am so sorry to hear about your Poppy  Even when they have been sick for so long it's still really tough to have to finally say goodbye. My grandad passed away at the end of last year so he never got to meet Alexandra. If you want to catch up to talk or for a bit of distraction let me know. I would love to catch up with you and Immy again before we leave (in less than 5 weeks!)
-
JB - sad news!
No good re your ring either.
No AF here yet. Havent started mini pill as I am reluctant but not ready TC yet either. Dont know when I should start it.
Hollo - that must be terrible to be sore still. Hope it improves soon.
Am leaving Miss T with her grand parents tomorrow night as we are going to a gig in the city for DH work. Wont be home till after MN. Hope she is settled as she is used to sleeping off the breast and doent normally take a bottle. We will see eh! I am looking forward to the break though.

Hi All,
its been ages since we've posted but we've been off overseas and back for a couple of weeks now. David is doing well 5 months got his MCHN checkup on Friday see how he's doing. He's started solids now which is fun with baby rice and various pureed veg going everywhere. We're now on formula, i had problems with my AF returning and my milk supply fluctuating greatly. It was also difficult because of David refusing my milk (screaming/arching back) for the first few days of AF and then him not gaining weight at a steady pattern. He is now happily on formula growing steadily (so far) we still have some frozen EB milk which he has a bit of each day.
Was wondering as time is FLYING past! Has anyone thought about returning to work? We were discussing it the other day at Mum's group and thought would go back to work but only until bubs #2 arrives (thinking of trying from christmas) but just worked out it is only feasible with one bub..
2 bubs childcare costs gobble up all my salary and some :| So not sure what we'd do then.
-
Ok so I am back :) Just missed by Baby Buddies and wanted to share the TTc of #2 with you
-
Yay Linda :)
Not much to report here. The funeral is for Friday and is a 2hr drive away. Will be my first funeral so am a bit nervous. I don't think it has really sunk in but I imagine that it will hit home on Friday.
-
-
sorry to hear of your loss JB! i lost my nana just before chelsea was born. she was in NZ so it didnt get to go to the funeral but it is not a nice time!
welcome back linda! sooooo, what happening with theTTC?
i'm not going back to work. i only do 2 days a week and the fees for two kids is something like $200 a week. i would only make about $5 more including less FTB and income with having to pay those fees. so it looks like i will be a SAHM until at least hannah goes to school! :-)
i just started a thread about it, but do you think bubs have preference for tastes already? i dont think chelsea is a fan of banana?
-
Hollo - yeah I reckon the bubs have specific likes re food already. Tirion doesnt appear tp like apples that much!
-
Sorry to hear of your loss JB, its not fair we have lose the people we love big
We had our check up yest and Ella has hardly put on any weight this month, she is quite active and i wasn't really worried but the nurse seemed to be. She is 8kg and is 69 cm, but she has dropped down a couple of curves on that graph thing. So she got me all worried.
Grrr i hate the silly growth graph thing :wall:
Yes i think Ella def has different tastes in what she likes, i dont think she like pear much
I have to go back to work in five months in feb, hopefully well be working on no 2 so ill be back off again, then i dont know what we will do!
