He's having a hard time with these needles I think. He started crying when he woke up about an hour ago & is now screaming. I just gave him panadol. I might put him in the bath.

Shell Bf or not gravity eventually takes its toll - everywhere!
I bought a high chair from Ikea yesterday for $20. It's the plastic one, doesn't have a tray just slides up to the table. Paddy loves it! He can sit up by himself for short periods of time but is still quite happy on the floor (he's probably my last so he will be a baby for as long as I can make him!).
Skye I hope Jesse is feeling better, the bath should help.
Prama hope poopy is feeling better. Lots of cuddles should make him feel better.
Well I just kept adding hot water & ended up having him in the bath for about half an hour. He was really happy in there. He had a feed & a bit of a sleep after, but only about 20 minutes & woke up crying again. & hasn't stopped again. Take away for tea tonight I think. I don't think there's any chance of me getting any thing cooked!
Last night Jazz slept all night again! That's 2 nights in a row! Work wasn't so exhasting today because I was working on my own for most of the day and wasn't being bombarded with heaps of information. Hopefully by the time I get to work tomorrow I'll be on the computer system coz I have some things to do but can't do it until I'm on the system. I ran out of things to do by lunch time today.
I am not going to work as Paige and Tahnie have a tummy bug it comes in waves from both ends poor little things, they have perked up a little after some gastrolyte iceblocks (which they never usually take) only had one client anyway. I noticed Summer has been dribbling heaps today and when i looked in her mouth i can see her two bottom teeth through the gums, one side more than the other, hopefully they wont go up and down too much and just come through easily for her.
DH got home 1am this morning, his body clock is so out of whack he couldn't sleep and so now is in bed, probably shouldn't let him sleep too much or he won't sleep tonight. He brought a mountain of washing home what a great present hehe. Speaking of washing i have heaps to do with all the vomitting.
thanks girls.
poopy is still sick. went to the paed today and she said he's got a viral infection. apparently the bug's been going around.
she's given him some antihistamine.
im on the verge of falling sick too.
will come back later
xoxox
Prama, hope you don't get sick and Poopy gets better soon.
I'm still a bit sick and feel aweful in the mornings. I don't think I should be working coz I think it's viral but I'm hardly going to take a sicky in my first couple of weeks of a new job am I!
Jazz made it 3 in a row with sleeping all night last night. I'm liking this! The only thing I don't like at the moment is she is so tired from spending all day at day care that she'll only be playful for about 30mins and the rest of the time (1-2 hours before falling asleep) she is mainly feeding and too tired to play and just wants cuddles to help her get to sleep.
My body is still not used to being at a desk for 8 hours a day. It's exhausting.
Matt is bringing Jazz into work this afternoon when he comes to pick me up. Only 15mins to go!
danni - thanks hun.. i hope you dont get sick either.
it's a bit of a shock to the system isnt it, from being a mum and then back to work again...
does jazz do a lot at the day care centre.
*Hugs* for trina and prama with sick kids I do hope its over soon for their sakes an dyours. trina hope it was anice reunion with dh despite all the washing.pram atake care of yourself hun nothing worse than feeling ill when away from home
danni well done you on 3 days at work I cant imagine yet how I will juggle it all but I Guess we just get on with it hope you dont get sick either. bj how is your little man doing?trina how did the horse go?Woo hoo summer on those teeth
AM sooo over hubbys job I cant wait til he finishes next week. I have had 10 nights in a row where he has worked till midgnight trying to get jobs finished so doing it all myself ( sorry trina I sound pathetic when I know you do it all yourself with 4 kids)
Have had to rearrange the furniture too as Will is now so good at rolling from his back to his belly he is moving himself all over the lougeroom and am not game enough to leave him alon while the heater etc is on the floor
going through 6 bibs a day atm with all the drool too I also think he will teeth early
Am missing my mum terribley and cry when she rings when they get phone service I feel like a fool and hate it becasue she says oh we will be home soon and gets a bit emotionalWith out going into details there is alot more than hubbies job causing grief at home atm.and the past couple of weeks have been pretty rough.not the sort of stuff I really want to talk to my friends about either :-( just want my mum iykwim..sorry
Am off to be night all
Bron x
Too late, I've been sick for almost 2 weeks!
Yes I think she does do a lot at day care coz she's always so tired when we get her home. I can't wait until the family day care lady can have her more days though. I find the quality of care is much better than at the childcare centre. It probably has a lot to do with the fact that it's at someone's home and there are only ever 4 kids at the one time and they are all different ages from Jazz being the youngest up to 4 years old. Whereas at the centre there can be up to 15 babies in the room at the one time and there is a ratio of 1:5 carers to babies. Their ages range from Jazz being the youngest again up to just under 2 years. Basically unless Jazz is being fed or is crying she is put in the bouncer thingy or put on the floor with an activity centre above her and left to entertain herself. At the centre they don't have time to spend proper time with each child.
Ah well, in Sept she'll change to 3 days at FDC and 2 at the centre and then at the end of the year it'll be 4 days at FDC and only one at the centre and then that's how it will stay.
Bron - sorry that you are feeling so low... ikwym about just wanting Mum, just sitting with them makes it all better doesnt it? I hope you are OK  Take care of yourself
Sorry not going to do personals, just wanting to check in really.
I think it must be winter or somethng in the water, we are all pretty cr*p at the moment arnt we? if its not us thats sick its our kiddies (hope the Gastro is improving at your house Trina)
I am sleeping really badly at the moment, it like i am in the third timester again, waking at odd hours and not sleeping well.
MJ has been needing a night feed too - i think that she is trying to fight off this cold too, so thats not helping either. I think that i had 4 hours last night - dont know whats wrong, but i work up and just wanted to punch something this morning (luckily MJ does dissolve those feeling pretty quickly).
DH was great and told me to tidy the lounge (so i dont look at mess all day as that make me cr*ppy too) and find a movie o watch or a book to read and do that all day - other than pick up DSS from school that is and care for MJ all day  I dont think that he understands that gone are the days that i can just curl up and forget about the rest of the world!
Trina - hope DH is not too grump with teh jet lag
Everyone else, take care and hope you andyour loved ones are not too sick/under the weather for too long :)
I'm home sick today. Wasn't feeling very good after work and couldn't eat dinner. Jazz slept until 5am again which was nice but I got up to her then, Matt had already been in there. When I was coming back to bed I felt dizzy and threw up (thankfully in the loo). After we dropped Jazz at daycare matt wanted to get a couple of outfits for her but I had to goso we could use my credit card. I threw up in the middle of the mall!
I haven't felt this bad since I was pregnant. I think its the flu. Matt said while I'm sick he doesn't want me to BF at all and to throw out any expressed milk to decrease the chance of passing this on to Jazz.
Danni - you couldnt be pg again could you?????
Hope you feel better soon
BTW i thought that u cant pass anything to your bubs via BF, just the antibodies that you are producing, so they are less likly to get sick as well
poopy's sick and i am now. we both hv the cold :(
even tho he's bf he's sick.
paed gave him some anti-histamine
Prama - didnt mean that they wont get sick, just that you are unlikely to make them sick via BM...
If poopy was sick first, you dont have the antibodies to give him, howeer if you have the same thing as him, you may find that he gets better quicker because, as your bodies fight the virus, it makes antibodies against it and you then pass them n to him via BM...
if that makes sense?
Nooooo! Not pregnant! Am on implanon and the thing that you have to do to make babies doesn't happen very much coz of Matt's medication. Doctor said it's a sinus infection so I've got antibiotics and the throwing up could be from a bit of gastro. He said while I'm sick and on antibiotics I should throw out all expressed milk.
ahh yes,capish!
i did read from Baby Love just now that bf babies still do get colds and all.
but yes, you are right, because im wasnt sick, he didnt have the antibodies but now i hope he gets better soon.
i went to the clinic and got some cold medication. the doc said it's safe for bf.
here, each clinic has it;s own dispensary and you pay the doc fees and medication together. you dont need to get a script to go to a pharmacy.
I paid RM35 = AUD12 for consulation and medication.
We also have govt hospitals where you pay just RM1= AUD 0.30 to see the doc and medication. Specialists in govt hossy are RM5, almost AUD2.
Just you have to wait a long time cos there are no appointments.
danni - hope you get better soon.. you sound quite sick :(
anyone got a pap smear since delivery? she said here they encourage you to do a pap smear abt 2 mths after delivery.
also cervical cancer vaccination - the dr. just now asked me if I've got the vac yet and i said no.
she told me to get one when i go back. and that i shouldnt get pg within 8mths after the vac.
SJ - what do you think?
I had a pap about half way through my pregnancy. Also have had my first 2 doses of the vaccination. Due for my 3rd and final one in October. I had to get it this year coz I'm 25 so it's still free for me.
Danni - Hope you feel better soon.
I didn't think you could get the cervical cancer vaccine while pregnant? I do have to get that organised.
Prama - I am due for a pap smear. My health nurse is organising it for me. I'm getting the same person as last time, since she comes out to where we are living now anyway. She's the local Womens Health Nurse. I hate those things, so it feels better for some rason to see someone who's seen down there before. I'd rather skip it all together, but I guess it's best to be done.
Got Jesse a walker today. He likes it, but because he isn't tall enough for his feet to touch the ground he sits forward in it, but I don't think it'll take long for him to touch it. It has a mat thing for under their feet when they are smaller.
It's pretty cool. The sides down the bottom turn down & it rocks back & forward. Or as a walker.
The MCHN told me why walkers aren't good yesterday. She said things that promote early walking can help cause developmental delays. Kinda. When babies crawl they have to use both sides of their brain at the same time. When they skip crawling they miss out on that part of their brain development.
I think that might be for babies that are in the walker all their waking hours right up til they start walking. Alot of people use them that much.
She said that early walkers are fine, as long as they have some crawling time first - My friends DD only crawled for 2 weeks, but that was enough. So as long as there is still heaps of floor time for them to get crawling it's all OK.
Jesse's starting to settle down a bit too. The MCHN thinks it is because when he had his last growth spurt he forgot how to self settle. So stopped putting himself back to sleep during the light sleeping times. Then because of that he's not getting enough sleep, so getting over tired to the point where he can't sleep. I wish I knew that 6 or 7 weeks ago when this all started!!
I had a pap smear at my 6 week check up. I didn't think you needed the cervical cancer vacine if you were past a certain age and sexually active because you are already exposed to the virus? SJ?
If you keep feeling down SJ make sure you go and see someone about it. You have a lot to deal with, more than most new mums
Hey girls,
Just changed my ticker with new pic of DJ :) I am soooo behind on posting... sorry for being so slack.. All things good here, DJ was a big whingey today but fine now... I think he is starting to teeth though, really rubbing his gums now...
pap smear - I had mine done at my 6 week check-up as well, all came back normal....
Prama - sorry to hear Poopy still not well, hope he gets better soon :)
Skye - I walked before I crawled, so will be interesting to see if DJ follows my suit kehehee but yeah I would perfer he crawled first. Mum said to me because I didn't have the crawling down pat I kept falling down on my bum when walking.
Trina - hope your kids get better
Danni - hope you are feeling better, so many bugs going around. I have been lucky not to get anything, mind you I have an eye infection ggrrrrr
SJ - hope you can get a better night sleep tonight and MJ starts to feel better.
Bron - I am going through so many bibs as well, I normally leave one on DJ now because he drools so much. I think he drools more than our dogs keheheee He is definitely starting to teeth, full on rubbing his gums etc
Sorry if I missed someone I am so behind in personals.
Shell xxxx
I agree sj crappy time here too. Contemplating kicking DH out just over it TBH, sick of letting people walk all over me. I was asked what i did all day yesterday and he was DEAD serious we all know that is the worst thing to ask a new mother. I really don't think he gives a **** about me.
Hope you are ok Bron, my Mum can't wait to move and i am just devistated what am i going to do without her?? I have nobody already so when she leaves *sigh* hope your mum is back soon.
Prama hope you and poopy get better soon sucks being away from home sick you just want to be at home (well i do)
Danni hope you feel better soon too.
Great pic of DJ he is looking so grown up.
The girls were only sick for a couple of days thank goodness, then Summer had her needles yesterday she was a very good girl only cried for a few seconds, her little legs were sore last night and had a little temp, she seems fine this morning we'll see. We have a busy soccer morning two games close together at different parts of the coast. Best i go get ready.
OH Trina :comfort: Im so sorry. Sounds like you really are having a bad time. When things get bad hear i write down all the stuff that i have a problem with and how it makes me feel (usually its pages!!!) and then i wait for DH to come home, tell him that i need him to ead it and the reason that i have written it all down is so that i can get it all out without it turning into a massive fight and then my side never gets fully explained. Usually this has a better effect as he understands how i am feel a bit more.
I am sure that he does give a sh't about you, it is just that is he is so wrapped up in his job at the moment that he has forgotten that you are doing the most important job of all. He probably just needs reminding.
Yeah and asking whats done all day :wtf: i get that sometimes, the look that i give tells him to shut up staright away.
I hope things improve, please rememebr you are doing a fantastic job and your kids will look back and be so incredibly grateful for all that you sacrifice :)
 Sorry about your Mum too - when is she leaving?
Prama - found this about the c=vaccine...
Shell DJis a real Cutie :):
Is HPV vaccine available for women older than 26 years?
No. At the moment, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has not approved the use of GARDASIL? for women over 26 years of age. Clinical trials into the benefits of the vaccine for women older than 26 years continue.
Older females are likely to have had more exposure to HPV, so the benefits of HPV vaccine may be reduced.
Teach - thanks for your comments, Im OK, just need to whinge sometimes... Oh and forgot to thank you for putting me onto Louou nappies they are great :)
got a bid on a wooden high chair... atm its 99cents, its pick up and secondhand so not too many people are interested :cossfingers:
i need to get a pap smear soon, its been ages...
i know i have forgotten something i was going to write... maybe i will bbl when i remember
No I didn't have the vaccination while I was pregnant. I had my first one 6 weeks after I gave birth. I still have the sinus infection but I'm not throwing up anymore, and am back on my food. We bought pizza for dinner last night, I had 1 bite and 2 pieces of garlic bread. Am heating some pizza for lunch now.
Jazz slept until 5am again and Matt got up to her while I stayed in bed until 9am. He's decided that he is getting more confident with her and is almost ready to reduce her daycare time and have her while I'm at work. We're going to start by cancelling Monday's at the centre and she'll go to the family day care lady on Mondays. In August for about 5 weeks the family day care lady cant have her on Tuesdays so Matt will have her on Tuesdays instead of her being in care. He wants to slowly increase the amount he has her all day. I'm so happy about that.
quick one (AGAIN!) as i have a bad cough and want to get a quick nap while poopy's asleep
sj - thanks! i will go check w my gp when i get back.i guess it might be different in different countries.
i do know that you get it below 26.
trina - i think your dh needs to understand what you do better. any chance of leavign all 4 with him for the day.
or not do a single thing that you usually do durign the day and then he will realise how much you do.
shell, danni, teach, skye, bron - thinking of you all. i hopei didnt miss anyone.
Trina - men really are horrible sometimes aren't they. My DH says that to me too. He has a bad habit of saying it on the worst days! The ones where I had a screaming baby & fighting kids all day. Not smart. Then if he's in a bad mood too, he'll say something like 'go on. Blame the kids'. Not the best way to get tea on the table!!
I do what SJ does when it gets too much. Write it all down. He seems to get it then, coz I can explain myself with out getting interrupted. & it's easier to put my feelings on paper than saying them sometimes.
He does love you, he's just tired. Try to remember that.
Anth has had a tooth ache for a few days now, so snaps at the kids about EVERYTHING! I tried getting him into the dentist, but they are only open Mon, Tues & Wed here. That really sux! I've told him to get out a few times now, but he is in a lot of pain & I do know how he feels. & he does apologise. I guess I can deal with it til Monday. Thats if he can get in at the dentist!
So yeah, it'll all be good soon.
DH has got the cold that i have had all week ... the world is ending ;)
I forgot to say, last night Jazz rolled from her tummy to her back twice in a row while she was on the floor and once while she was on my chest. Matt was in the room watching TV at the time but he missed it coz he wasn't watching. Then we got the video camera out and she hasn't done it since. She wouldn't even do it for the video. Will have to keep trying.
Jesse has rolled twice on his own in the last few days from back to tummy. Only when there's no nappy on him though! Hasn't gone from tummy to back though
He started chewing his feet the other night. I'm just about to try uploading the pics..
Nup. maybe later.
Thanks guys, the letter is a great idea will have to do that one of course he has been really nice today. Went and spent some time with my new horse today i am loving him he is just such a gentle soul it was just what i needed.
When i put summer on her floor gym she rolls all over the place and i usually find her a meter away from it.
Hope everyone that is sick is getting better
Trina your obviously treating your DH with far too much respect. When he says that next time just tell him you've been sitting on your arse all day and need to run to the shops. You don't mind cooking dinner do you, darling? Then leave with baby and car keys and find a nice coffee shop or bar, whichever takes your fancy.
Seriously though I do believe that we teach people how to treat us so maybe a bit of retraining is in order. A few of my friends are psuedo single mums because of their partners work/leisure activities and they tend to not be appreciated by their partners simply because they're not home often enough to see how much work running a family takes.
Hi to everyone else. Off to basketball. Playing Bunbury hope we have a win.
Ooh yeah. That'd be funny!
I do say absolutely nothing & sitting on my arse all day to DH all the time, but I never thought of nicking off for a while! sounds sneaky & fun!
I doubt I'd do it though.
Well, you know how Jazz has been a good little girl and slept all night every night this week... Well, last night I was on baby duty so she decided to wake up every 2-3 hours! Naughty girl!
Ah well, Matt's on baby duty again until Friday night. I get Fridays and Saturdays now except I didn't have Friday this week coz I was sick. I will not be a happy camper if she decides to sleep all night again all week until Friday! I did make Matt get up at 7am this morning to sort her out though just so I could have a bit of sleep.
I'm able to express less now and don't get much out any more so I think and hope that my supply is almost out.
I think Jesse slept all night last night! 6am is the only time he woke up. That I remember anyway.
Then went back to sleep til 9.30.
I nicked off tonight! Anth went with my DB & a mate at about 11am & I didn't see them again. SIL had enough & came over & asked me to go out for tea with her when they got home & get them to baby sit. They didn't show, so we went anyway.
DB is sucking up to SIL big time!
Anth took the bin out before he came in side when he got home & then was stumped as to why I wasn't grumpy with him. I got my time out. It would've been better without the kids, but coz it was kinda behind their backs it was good.
We did text them & say that we were going out, but we told them we had a baby sitter!
My bubba slept in his own room for the first time last night. Sounds silly i know as he is 19 weeks old but was hard for me to make that move I was so super paranoid. I woke so many times it wasnt funny he on the other hand slept from 8.30 till 6 like he does everyday so no hassle for him.He is growing so fast :-(
India - Jesse still sleeps in our room.
Jaz did til she was 5 months, Bri did til she was 9 months. I won't be waiting that long this time. 6 months I think.
danni how are u feeling today? jazz is cheeky, maybe she just loves feeding time w you!
bron - that's a big move! im still not ready yet, was hoping to move him at 6mths, but might wait as we go back when he's 6mths and let him settle a bit and move him at 7mths.
skye - glad you had some quality time outside the house. maybe next time leave the kids w dh and sneak out! hehe
trina - hope you get to pour out your feelings in a letter and dH realises how you feel. it's a big thing. we all think you are doing an amazing job, no, it's more than a job. you are a fantastic mum, and i'm sure all your little princesses realise that.
I do hope he did bring something for you all.
shell - how're your walks going? i said in the previous thread, you must be walking further and further, is that why we dont hear from you so often? hehe ;)
is dj sleeping longer at night now that he's on formula?
hello everyone else!
i hardly slept last night, poor poopy's nose was blocked and he was restless in his sleep. I kept wakign up every hr to check on him, and give him some little fess. poor baby
DH and I just were not sleeping properly with him in there and he has nearly grown out of his bassinet so thought if he got used to spending the nights in there then I can make the tansition to the cot next.PLus its warmer in his room it stays the same sort of temp all day where as our room is so cold wont stop me from being paranoid though.
prama i Hope poopy gets better soon
Prama, i hope that Poopy is better soon, its no good then they are not sleeping well.
Bron - MJ has always been in her room, when we stopped sleeping wit the monitor on (same reason as you are moving Will out, not sleeping well cos of the noise) i barely slept and i was listen out for every noise.
The one thing that put our mind at rest is that we have a baby sense monitor (like the angel care but with no audio monitor just an alarm)... hoever the day that we remove that i think i will be camped in her room... so i guess i am probably lulling myself into a false sense of security... good luck with the cot change
Skye, glad you got some time out, even though it was with the kiddies... how is Jaz doing? are your kids back at school this week? i think we go back a week earlier, this is DSS second week back.
Shell hope DJ is OK... have missed your posts
Danni, i agree with Prama, Jazz probably just loves the Mummy feeds :)
Trina, hope everything is going OK and glad that this horse is working out for you, you deserve something nice.
To all.... What do you do for you time? do you have time away from your bubs at all? Im starting to feel like things are getting on top of me and wondering what everyone else does and how much help you get from your DH (trina i know your answer to that last one ;) )
