WARNING - BEETROOT POO IS JUST LIKE BEETROOT
I'm upset, I made a vent about that I was annoyed BB that I was losing my posts. and now ppl are jumping on me that I shouldnt be angry, I shouldnt direct it at BB cos it's a server problem.
I'm just so sick of ppl telling me how I should/shouldnt be feeling etc. All I wanted is a bloody vent cos I havign such a bad day and some posts would stick and others wouldnt.
Vent here Prama coz it gives me the sh*ts too!
I don't care who's fault it is! It's bl00dy annoying & it happens way too often!
On a happier note I just got the professional pics I had done of the kids when Jesse was about 1 or 2 weeks old. I uploaded some in my gallery. Check 'em out.
Hi girls,
Taking a break at work because I need it haha So busy today and I am almost considering taking work home but I don't want to. Anyway hopefully I can get what I need done. Doni can't pick DJ up for me this afternoon either because he is in Qld for the day for work. Oh well, hopefully my stepmum won't mind looking after him for a litle longer so I can get stuff done.
I am definitely putting DJ into childcare now. I have decided 2 days per week at a place near work. I have seen the place and fell in love with it and the carers were so nice as well. My stepmum really wants to look after DJ so I am thinking of letting her look after him on Thursdays. I just want DJ to get interaction with other kids and the learning programs they offer kids also.
I am soooo tired though, I don't know how to change around DJ's sleeping habits. No matter what we do he still wakes up at 3am and then grizzles for rest of morning. I think it is teething, not sure. His 6 months needles are tomorrow so I might bring it up with the GP while I am there and ask a few questions. \
re: yoghurt - DJ loves his yoghurt especially the banana one.... that would be about right, I hate bananas and he loves them hahahahaha
Prama - don't worry about the others, I get sick of doing a nice long post and then for it to not go through.... grrrr hope your leg feels better. We will have to catch-up again sometime soon, probably a few weeks time.
Skye - what a bonus on the pre-school for free ;)
Danni - I would have preferred family day care as well, but the waiting list is huge for this area.
SJ - yeah it sucks lugging the stuff around I feel like a pack horse. But I think I have made the right decision in putting DJ into childcare. He will start on 23rd. I have to send off Centrelink form tomorrow.
Bron - how is Will going?
Trina - how are you going?
Sorry girls it is a short post.... Just needed a break from work. I am soooooo tired. Thinking of another caffeine hit to get me through the afternoon.....
shell xxx
(the tired one.....)
skye - thanks heaps for your support. you are right, copy and paste is a workaround not a solution...
I just got annoyed, last year when i was still in the ttc thread, we weren't happy with something and because it was BB related, we got jumped on. It seems sometimes you can't say anything about BB in a constructive way without a hissy fit.
anyway, i just got worked up and i shouldnt have let them get to me. not worth it.
im glad you re feeling better. up and down days are so hard... steve thinks im not getting much better and it's hard on him. i;ve joined the depression and anxiety thread, but havent explored it properly.
shell - sorry you're feeling so tired, it's so hard when they start waking up.. i dont even sleep properly cos i keep thinking he's going to cry any moment.
i find now that carrassing his face gently helps calm him down and he goes back to sleep. i was so tired last night as i didnt really sleep the previous night, im sure he grizzled more times than i woke up.
hehe steve and i dont like banana either..
gotta go.. takeaway's here
Hi all,
I'm at work so a short one from me.
I'm doing ok having a really down few days. The girls are going well, decided to do swimming with Summer to try and wear her out cos she is definately the most active out of all my girls, she is into everything the little princess and not sleeping well at all.
Hope you are all well and sorry for the short post and lack of personals thinking of you all
Trina
Hey again,
DJ hasn't stopped eating today, looks like another growth spurt. At my stepmums he had one full tub of yoghurt and 1 full jar of vege mash, then I gave him some rice cereal with apple puree and he ate the whole thing and was wanting more. He has been drinking down all of his milk as well. I am wondering if I should dropped one of his milk feeds? He is still on 6 feeds per day, but 2 of those feeds he doesn't drink much, only 80ml so I am wondering if I should try to drop one feed. I am going to GP tomorrow to get his needles done so might ask while I am there. He is now wriggling his way across the room with his bum and legs. I now leave the room and he has wriggled to the other side of it haha so I don't think it will be long before he starts crawling now.
Trina - good to hear from you. Sorry to hear you have had a few down days, it will get better hun. I am hearing you on the sleeping.... Must be just this stage of their development..... Thinking of you :)
Prama - thinking of you, and good idea on the thread, it helps to talk to others going through the same thing. Always happy to catch-up anytime you need to chat. And yeah tiredness doesn't help - I need more sleep. Hoping DJ will get a good night sleep as well. Hope Poopy does as well for you :)
Well I better go, and get ready for bed.
Shell xxx
Hi all. Went to the doc today. Dunno whats with my kidney, but I do have a scar on it & I have no idea what from. Never had a kidney infection or anything before.
Talked to him about anti depressants, but I'd have to stop bfing, so gotta make that decision.
Jesse's pretty sick. Ear infection in both ears & sore throat. His temp was 39.8 when I took him to the doc. I nearly fell off my chair when I saw it!
Him & Bri are on ABs so hopefully they'll be a bit better tomorrow.
Bro & SIL's last night in town tomorrow :(
Anyways, its 2.45. Off to bed!!
Night all!
Morning...
Skye, glad you are OK, well sort of... there was a thread a few days ago re stopping BF so you can go on AD's... IMO you need to do what is right for you so that you can function properly and cope with it all, if that means stopping BFing, well so be it, Jesse has had your booby juice for 6mths now.
Poor Jesse with the ear infection, was he very distressed? poor little man... you guys are having a rough trot arent you. Great news on the day care, going and doing something for you is proably what you need. You have been a mummy and at home for so long now, you possibly need to rediscover yourself :)
Prama - isnt that what the boohoo room is for, so that you can vent away without being told off? Some people :wall:
Danni - sounds like FDC is a much better option... has you sster left yet?
Shell - sorry that you are feeling so tired, hopefully starting aycare it will get a bit asier for you
Trina - good to her from you... thinking of you loads, hope you are doing ok, good idea on the swimming you certianly have a little wriggler!
Bron any news?
OMG! I'm awake!
My alarm just went off as I was typing this & I've been awake for 20 minutes! One good thing about sick kids - they don't give up til they get what they need!
Jesse's not real good. I couldn't put him down yesterday. Got nothing done & a sore back. He would only sleep for 20 - 30 minutes at a time.
Was hard to settle last night. Was probably awake every hour after about 8. He had been awake for about an hour when I posted earlier. I finally gave up & put him in our bed & he went to sleep til Anth got up at 5.45. I'm sure I stuck a boob in his mouth after that too, but no idea when.
He's sleeping now, so I hope he's a bit better today.
Bri had a sleep day yesterday. Went to sleep at about 10.30 & slept til about 3.30. She was a bit more bright & alert after, but didn't sound any better last night.
With re to the bfing & ADs I'm not sure. One of the main reasons I suffered it after the girls was because I couldn't bf them. I think the main reason it hasn't quite settled in is because we are doing it. Every time I bf him it reminds me that I still need to be their mum & that I can do something right iykwim. I don't think I'm ready to give up just yet.
Anyways. Gotta get this girl up for school.
BBL
no news all my records have had to go to committie..new hospital here a nightmare to deal with..not in crisis atm though count not great.more waiting..over it
sorry short headache this morning..:grouphug: for all we need it
I'm home from work today after a terrible night. Let me tell you about it:
Night started out great. We went out shopping, then came home at 8pm and started watching a movie. Jazz went to bed at 8:15pm. At 9pm we heard her crying, went into her room to check on her and she was absolutely covered in sick.
So, I gave her a bath while Matt changed the sheets and put them in the washing machine.
Put her back to bed at 9:30 but she was unsettled so I stayed with her. She was sick again! Rang our doctor who does some evening work, got answering machine. He rang back at 9:50 and told us to come straight down (by this time she'd been sick 4 times). Got into the car to go to the doctor and she was sick a 5th time. Arrived at doctor about 10:10pm - she was sick again when we got out the car (that's 6 if you're keeping count). She was sick again in the doctor's office. He told us to take her to the hospital and gave us a note to give them. Got to the hospital about 10:45pm. Booked her in at triage, then on the way to the paed waiting room she was sick yet again. Then in the waiting room was sick another 3 times before 11:30pm when they started a trial of fluids which she didn't perform too well in at first. She had to have 15ml of hydrolite every 10mins. First dose she didn't keep down 5 mins after having it. 2nd dose came up after about 10mins, 3rd dose came up as well. This happened a few times and it was looking like she was going to be admitted so she could have IV fluids to rehydrate her.
By 2am she had started keeping the hydrolite down and continued to keep it down until 4:45am when we left the hospital. I'll also mention that between 9:30pm and about 2:30am she had not done a wee.
She seems fine now and has so far kept a bottle down.
My sister hasn't left. They leave on Thursday next week. They've found a house which looks great and they move into that on the 26th. We're having a farewell dinner for them on Sunday night.
We are going househunting later this afternoon, thinking about moving.
I checked my work email this morning (I can do that from home) and had an email from the child care centre saying even though they normally have a 2 week cancellation period, they are going to wave that and only charge us up to today. This would be because in the email I sent them I said the reason we were stopping is because it was becoming too much of a finacial burden for us!
Oh Danni you poor things how scary for you do they know why she was so sick? I do hope she is ok you all must be exhausted
They think maybe a bit of gastro. Thankfully she doesn't have the runs (I hope she doesn't get them either). Apart from tired she seems to be back to normal today and has kept down a bottle of formula. Doc said if she manages to keep things down we can return her to normal diet today but he said to get some hydrolite and give her a little now and then coz it rehydrates better than just water but we have to include water in her daily food/drink intake now coz 6 months is the age to introduce drinks other than just breastmilk/formula. I'd rather she just have water and I'm wanting to put off introducing fruit juice for as long as possible coz of all the sugar.
oh danni - what a scare!!! hope jazz is feeling better and having some rest too.
im not sure about fruit juice either, i've seen teh nutricia ones 'hint of juice' that say there's no added sugar...
im having a massive headache today.. managed to cook some comfort food and mop the kitchen. put poopy in his high chair while i did that, he was excited for a bit then got restless. he was chewing on his rusk and then threw it almost into the bin.. sigh.
girls hope your day get better..
bron - which hossy will you go to?
Prama with abit of luck I wont go into hospital at all instead the cancer clinic up here will give the treatment as they did before. My heamo at RPA is great and very aware of country patients and does what he can to accommodate them.
bron - hope it all happens soon. waiting is no fun..
shell - yup, let's meet up in a few weeks. the bb syd mums are meeting in rosehill on oct 1st.
No vomit or runny poo today thank goodness! We got a bottle of hydrolite to give her now and then as different fluid to milk or water. So tired now! We're about to go out and have a look at a couple of houses then I'm hoping to get at least an hour sleep before dinner.
Got some my first yoghurt when we went shopping today - its suitable for 6months+
The FDC lady gave us one of those little hand held things with the little mesh bag that you can put pieces of fruit and stuff in and babies suck and chew on them. She said to give it a go before we buy one ourselves but that she wants it back so that if Jazz likes it she can use it when Jazz is with her and we can have our own for at home. We got some apples to try in it. I don't know if we'll do anything today. I'm thinking about not giving any food at all today and just sticking with fluids even though the doc said it should be fine to return to normal. She seems a bit tired (not surprising) to be having anything else. Jazz slept for about 80mins while we were in the hospital and then we all slept for about 3.5 hours after we got home. She's in the middle of a cat nap now.
Hope Jazz is better soon Danni. Sounds scary. Did they say anything about putting her on lactose free formula? Bri had Rota Virus at 6 months old & spent a night at Dubbo hospital & had to be on lactose free for about 2 weeks after, coz it ate away the lining of her stomach.
I don't know if they do that with every gastro thing, but I guess they would have said something. Bri was sick with vomitting & diarrhea for over a week (that was fun trying to keep up with the washing!), so it's probably ok.
She didn't have milk for about 4 days & was on fluids for the night via a tube in her nose. Not fun.
Glad she's feeling a bit better now though.
Oh Danni, poor jaz, she must have been feeling so unwell glad it seems to have settled now, probably not a bad idea sticking to just the formula for a day or too, i know if i have gastro, the food can be a bit of an irritant straight afterwards.
I was told with juice that the only way we should give it is if we sqeeze it ourselfs due to the preservatived and also handling... havent givent MJ any, but i think i will give her OJ that i sqeeze myself, she loves oranges and sucks the life out of the sements that o give her,so i guess she is getting it already in a way :)
think of everyone else.
We have had the best day today apart form the wind... 23 woo hoo it was sooo good to have a beautiful day, we went for a walk with a friend and checked out all the spring gardens, it was great... hopefully the weather is oing to stay nice.
Was great for the washing, all nappies dry in a day, havent been able to do that for a while
sj - are oranges ok? i was told it's too acidic for their tummies..
We applied for a new rental house today. It's really nice and at a good price ($250/week). 2 bathrooms, formal lounge, family/dining area, 3 reasonable sized bedrooms, walk in robe in main bedroom, large undercover outdoor entertaining area, good size back yard, monthly yard mantenance included, alarm, roller shutters
I've given Jesse manderine, but not oranges yet. Noone else eats them, so I don't buy them.
He won't be having tomato til he's over 1 though. Not after Anth gave him a taste a few months ago!
are mandarins different from oranges?
a question about schools...
we went to look at day care centre just up our road, it's really nice, it's council run and just next to a park. there's another one near us but it's private - Active kids. we'll have to decide which one.
anyway we were talking to the carer and she was talking about pre-school and kindergartens.
what's the difference between pre-school and kindergartens? which do you have to go to before you start school? some schools seem to have pre-school and some dont.
sorry i didnt go to school here, so i dont know..
i think we'll go to a public school.
Prama - there is pre school from 3-5. It is totally opptional. Then in NSW kindergarten is the first year of primary school.
In QLD its kindergarten first, then pre school. I think kindergarten is for 3yo & pre school for 4yo, then year 1 starts at 5?? Don't know for sure though as I've never lived there.
thanks skye... i suppose you could do pre-school on some days only. 2 years is a long time to go to preschool.
how are you today, is jaz ok today?
Morning everyone,
Prama pre school is when they do preparation for school they start to familiarise them with all the stuff they have to do in kindergarten which is the first year of school, in NSW they can start kindergarten if they are turning 5 before end of July of the year they start (some schools are different) or you can keep them back and send them the next year when they are turning 6 that year depends on how ready they are or how ready you are ;). With the work they do it's learning to write their name and learn the alphabet etc ready for reading, speaking in front of the class, cutting, pasting etc etc
Some pre schools are linked to the local public school and have a few weeks or months where they take the kids there once a week to go have a play in the playground and sit in on kindergarten classes so it isn't too scary when they start. Tahnie did 3 days for a while then did 2, they say 2 days is fine its up to you though, they learn heaps they have heaps of educational programs (well at ours anyway)
My first night without the 3 bigger girls last night, i was so tired i had a glass of red and fell asleep on the lounge, now its a mad dash this morning, i have to start work at 8am but have to drop summy off to mum so have to leave so early.
Sorry for the novel, off to get ready hope you are all well xoxo
If you are doing baby led solids oranges are fine - as are all foods, the theory is that you give what you are eating, especially if your baby has been BF as they have been getting all these tastes already.
So yes orange is fine, so are tomatoes and anything that you want to give your bubs - except whole nuts... and anything with added salt or sugar, so no junk food or preparared foods (which is good, cos it makes us eat better)
MJ had quiche for dinner the other night and she loved it
re preschool etc dont you have prep in school in NSW? Prep is the first year of primary school here... you start that as a 5 year old and do 4yo kindy and 3yo if you want... well i think so anyway.
Danni hope you get the house
gotta go, hard rubbish collection is on monday so are doing some clearing of junk and DSS has a tekwondo competition today - his first one :crossfingers:
thanks.. re- preschool.
i was always thinking if Lakshman was in day care, it would be enough before he goes to school. They teach school readiness in day care, so I dont know if he will need to do pre-school.. He's 7mths and so much to think about already!!!
We have 4 primary schools so close to us, we dont know which is better. I tried to look if there's any rating but there isnt...
trina - i like the idea of them sitting in kindergarten classes before they start...
hope your day is good, does the strange lady who likes to take her bra off come? haha
baby led solids - i wonder if poopy's ready for a curry. lol. i've made him fish a few times, 2x baked and yest i cooked in stock w vegies, he didnt seem to like it. i made fish curry the other day and rinsed the curry off the fish and gave it to him and he liked it. hahaaha.
i cooked some dried apricot and he loves that too.
poopy has a runny nose, poor bubba he was crying all night from 2am. we had to go out really early this morning, we left at 5.30 and he finally slept in the car. so it was good that we went out.
what a gorgeous, gorgeous day.. it's 30deg... woo hoo. we're going to head off to a fete..
Well now I do think Jazz had gastro...I'm sick now. Woke up at 4am and threw up, then just a few mins ago did it again. Matt ordered me back to bed!
I'm starting to feel better, but now Matt is sick!
Oh Danni. That sux.
No prep in NSW.Schools do do an introduction program though. It depends on the school how it works. Its usually a half or full day a week for the last term, but the public school here has already started. Catholic school (Jaz's) starts next term. At the school Jaz was at last yer they just did 4 days in about week 8 of last term. 3 days til 12 I think, then 1 full day. But there were only 12 kids at the school, so it wasn't really a set in stone thing. Jaz was the only one in kindy.
Prama - I'm pretty sure he'd be ok with curry. Did you eat it while pg & bfing?? He's getting the taste that way anyway. As long as its not burn your bum off hot it should be ok. Day care centres usually have a pre school room too, for 3 - 5 year olds. They can go anywhere from 1 to 5 days depending on the centre/pre school.
LOL - all this school stuff is confusing me!! Thanks for all your feedback
yup, I had lots of curry, and still do. I especially had really really hot Indonesian chilli stuff more often when I had MS, like 2-3 times a week. This was burning your bum off hot, but I love it. This indonesian place, they blend bird's eye chilli with kaffir lime leaves, garlic, and something else. It's not cooked and you pour it over your chicken or fish like a sauce.
It's sadistic sambal... lol. The more I cry, the more I love it! Steve reckons all the chilli I've had, has burnt my taste buds and I can no longer taste subtle flavours.. sometimes i think it's true.
I was feeding Poopy pumpkin and lentils, and as usual he moved and it went up both nostrils. As he was breathing in and out, it was like yellowy snot moving in and out.. lol it was gross but I was laughing my head off, and he started to laugh too. Sorry if it's TMI.
Anyway, if this is all he snorts, I'm happy enough!
skye - steve said he went to Coonamble years ago working on a project on microwave transmission sites, not sure if he stopped there or went thru. He has it's a nice part of the bush!
Lol! Sorry Prama, but he's mad!!!!!
JK. I think its a hole, but it is bush, I can tell you that now!
We are actually classed as isolated here. The kids get an extra week christmas holidays & people get a huge discount to send their kids away to boarding school. They pay $2000 - $3000 for the year, so alot of them do that, coz its way cheaper than having them at home.
The town must get very quiet then without many kids.. But it must be really exciting around x'mas when they come back.
Are you still thinking of moving away?
I want to. It's not too bad now that I know the people next door & we have someone to talk to & have a few drinks with that are so close. It makes life easier, but its not the best town for bringing kids up.
so glad things are getting better.. hope they'll start to fall into place.
time for beddy byes.. zzzz
was so hot today, 32deg!!
Pram skye is right some day cares have a preschool room with 4-5 year olds. I know at our centre we are constantly fully booked becasue the program is so great. The girls do ofeten suggest though that if your child has been in full itme care at the centre for alogn period that a day at another preschool helps them more at school. They can get over famialiar with the environment and staff. We have 3 private schools in town that offer hwat they call pre prep or transision and the hcildren attend form 9 till 2.30 either 5 days a week or 3. This is supposed to be a more formal structured pre school type program to get them used to the larger school environment. I can tell you know though that any good pre school program in a day care will be it hands down and the curriculum is o much richer. We have had a few moans and growns abotu how bored our kids are when they goes to transition or kindy for the first 6 months becasue they already know how to write and read and do their phonics etc.
I would also be lookign at feeder schools fomr your day care or preschool so that lakshman has some friends to follow thorugh with him. MInd you he is still a baby I cant bear to even think about sending Will off to school *L* but i know its a relaity especially in city areas to enroll early etc.
Very excited last night as Will got up on his kness and started rocking and moved forward a little. God help me he will be full on crawling in a week I reckon.I went to put a lighter w eight sleep suit on him last night as it was really warm up here too and poor little buggars feet are pushign out the end he has had a real growth spurt.\got to go he is awake bbl
B xx
Oh my god bron, you are going to have the first crawler!!! I must say that i am not intirely jealous as i am not ready!!!
Prama - mj has done the snorting thing with avocado, it was hilarious, green snot DSS killed himself laughing
Skye, just googled coonamble to find out where you are... didnt show how isolated you really are but at least i have a general idea!
Glad that you have met the peopel next door, it makes it easier.
MJ was awake at 3am this morning, talking and giggling to herself and blowing raspberries! i didnt go in as she didnt cry at all, it was funny to listen to ... my boobs are killing though, not sure what it was that i ate last night to increase my supply but they are soooooo full, i am considering going in and waking her!
Danni - i hope everyone in th house is feeling better
Have noticed that MJ is really 'eating' now, for the first few weeks it was more about getting the food into her mouth and playing iwth it.
Last night she had a slice of avocado then a stick of cheese that i cut from the block, then another slice of avocado and then a segment of orange. the only thing that she didnt eat intirely was the orange... previously i would find it all over her and down beside her and in her crutch, not its all gone (the dog isnt happy as she use to get the left overs!!!)
Oh and last night MJ was in the tummytub having a bath and she looked like she was straining for a poo, but only did a fart, lifted her out, but realising there was no poo, popd her back in so i could wash her hair... meanwhile i reaslied that i didnt have her towel, so asked my sister to watch her which she did, but failed to see that she did a poo and when i came back in her has a massive solid poo floating near her head GROSS!!! of course that was the end of bath time and i had to re-clean her! Im sure it wont be the last time  i rememebr nina had a bath with dad when she was little and they were playing with boats and things and all of a sdden this log came floating but, It took dad a while to realise what it was, i think initially he just thought it was a toy and he was out of the bath in a flash! :D
We are in for a storm here today, the wind is howling and blowing
