Shell - i am so sorry that things are hard for you at the moment. Sounds like you really need your melb break... where are you going? Is Doni working or is it all a break?
Poor little DJ too, must be hard for him as he doesnt know whats going on. I feel awful when MJ is sick as you cant explain to her whats going on and that she will feel better soon.
Skye - Sorry hun... fwiw, i think that the move was a great idea, living where you were was making you sadder and sadder, at least this was there is more support for you Dont get me wrong, i hope that you and Anth sort things out, but constant arguing is no fun either and the break wil probably be great for you both to weigh up what it is that you want/need
Prama - i have written a coupl of threads about not sleeping well (both MJ and Me) and a couple of times i have been recommended that i cut back on solids... this was the lastest one, recieved yesterday posted by Trillian....
We fed MJ late last night and she also had potato... wouldnt you belive it she had a terrible night sleep... so i think that i will give less solids ago....Is she having solids? and if so, is she eating a meal at night and what type of food? We had LOADS of sleep issues that we first thought was teething, but it just seemed relentless and giving panadol didn't seem to make a whole lot of difference. And when he was asleep it wasn't a *good* sleep either kwim? When he was nearly 9mths, we had a gastro bug go through us all and I was just too sick one night to make him dinner, so he went without solids that night and guess what? he slept for 10 HOURS!!!!! I didn't give him solids again the next night because I was still ill and we got another solid nights sleep! Literally overnight all our sleep issues stopped - even when he did cut other teeth it was nothing compared to what he was doing. He did have reflux issues, so the solids were just making that worse and his gut just couldn't digest it properly at night. Around the same time I also read and article in Practical Parenting magazine about babies sleep and the correlation with high GI foods. If your baby has a diet of high GI foods, it can interfere with their sleep. So when we started to re-introduce an evening meal, we started with low GI foods only and we had no sleep issues. We also realised that potato gives him belly aches and even now he can't eat potato at night.
Its interesting that Caitlin has cut back on solids herself and is also sleeping better (with the combination of the routine).
Thinking about it, when MJ solids really started to increase that is the exact point that the sleep when out the window (6.5 mths) so maybe worth a try. Maybe i will give her a afternoon snack and no dinner.
Are you still BF?
