Last week of school so have to enjoy the last bit of peace, i do like school hols cos it means we can go do things and not have to be so organised.

Im ok a bit anti christmas and ex is being an arse (surprise surprise) doesn't call the kids and hardly sees them.

Yes prama Mum moved ages ago.

Oh and Summer is a shocker at night time at the mo!!!!!! anyone else having this prob? she wakes and cries and cries and cries

I think Jazz is cutting another tooth. Last night she was so irritable and screaming and it took me ages to get her to sleep. I tried to put my finger in her mouth to feel her gums but when I did that she screamed even louder! She wouldn't take her bottle this morning so when I dropped her off at daycare I told the lady that she hadn't had anything since 3am. So I hope the tooth comes through quickly so she can get back to normal. She's just had the 2 teeth since 6 months so we've had a relatively easy time for the past 3 months but now the teething monster is back.

I got one of her christmas presents yesterday. Its this talking handbag thing with things that you put inside. It's educational. Teaches about opposites, greetings, counting etc. I was going to get her a push along lion thing for walking which converts to a ride on for older babies but I had Jazz in the pram and it was big so I didn't really have any way to carry it. If I had her in the trolley then it would have been fine. Matt said that we'll get her a few more things though. Have to get her something "from father christmas"
The funny thing is that I wrapped up her present and Matt's while they were both out and I put them under the tree. One of the first things she noticed when they got home was that there was something new under the tree and she was trying to get to it!

Hey girls,

All good here. DJ is good, very active that is for sure and very cheeky. He so loves the camera now, always puts on a smile when he sees one :) cheeky little thing.... I got a few little things for him to wear on christmas day, going to put them in his xmas stocking kehehee Also got him some Wiggles (pre-walker shoes) they are soooo cute and shorts and summer tank top. Just have to take his christmas layby out this week so I can get his christmas presents wrapped up. We had lunch with the mothers group today and almost all babies are now mobile and crawling around. We are all looking into playgroups now, so thinking of starting in one early next year. I am also putting DJ into some really good swimming lessons in February :) I can't believe it is christmas next week, time flies that is for sure.

Danni - ah yes the teething monster, I refer to it as grrrrrr DJ still having issues with his first tooth coming through, it is only 1/4 the way through but it bothers him so much when he is asleep. Wakes at several times during the night.

Trina - yes i am having the same problem and put it down to teething since he just cut his first one. Someone told me when they about to reach a development milestone they will wake and cry several times at night so not sure if that is it..... Sometimes you just don't know. I think maybe another growth spurt, teething, development milestone. Who knows..... haha I just want a proper night sleep but that ain't going to happen for a while.

Prama - sorry to hear what you heard back from work, I plan on increasing my days from 3 to 4 starting from March. I want the extra money so we can save it up for a holiday next year. I enjoy being back at work anyway so that is good. When do they want you to start back at work??? Great news about your holiday sounds fantastic!!

SJ - what a toothpegs? OR do you mean teething rusks?? haven't heard of toothpegs. We gave him a chicken drumstick the other night (without the meat of course) and he loved it, really good on his gums. My aunty gave me that solution :) Sounds like you had fun at christmas party but what a bummer on the ticket doh!!! Not a great time of year to get it either.... Damn parking inspectors.

Skye - hope Jesse is doing better, how is his rash going? DJ had a viral skin rash a few months ago and it was all over his body except his face.... There are 5 different viral skin rashes apparently, well the doctor gave me an info sheet on them a while back.


Well girls, I better go, hope you all have a great week. I have changed my working days so working Tues, Wed and Thursday.... On Friday and today I had to go in for 1.5 hours so on Wednesday I am leaving at 3pm kehehe

i start first week of feb, but im really not happy abt doing 5 days. i was really looking fwd to doing 3 days, i want to spend time w my baby, and not want him to be w day care all 5 days. it's going to be so hard, being away from him 5 days. i feel so guilty, i feel like im a bad mother for putting him in day care for 5 days.. but i havent got a choice....
i wish my mum was here, at least she can help look after him and he will have 'home' time even tho im working compared to daycare...

Seriously i dont know why things just cant go well for a while... i am so sad over this, and angry and numb. I just want the whole lot to go away. Sometimes i wish that DSS was not part of our lives (god thats awful) as i am just so sick of dealing with her contuinual cr#p... it just goes on and on and on and i am over it

sorry all about me, but really the only time it is about me is when i am in here and i am feeling like i am going to explode from saddness and exhaustion... to top it off DH has been working stupid hours again and i am lucky to see him for an hour... MJ is missing him and yeah... sob I am over it :(

Well, Jazz is getting around the house quite well now. We need to get some gates. We joked about getting a portacot and putting her in that until she turns 18! She keeps heading for the kitty litter though.

I was holding her hands while she was standing up and we were slowly walking together, she thought that was great!

:-( SJ *hugs* not sure what to say hun but give you one of these wish I was closer so we could do coffee and you could vent properly.I find it outrageous that the counsellors would allow her to make such an admission in front of him he has enough on his plat poor little mate. Could it be an aide to speak to DOCS again even though you did a few years back? am not sure what the solution might be but it cant keep affecting your family like this. I can imgaine its hard to becasue hubby is working so much you arent getting as much support and missing him. YOur going camping soon arent you? hopefully you wil get osme good time together tot alk things through and away form her.AM sorry am not much help but thinking about you *Hugs* take care ofyou

:hug: SJ. I was thinking you should try DoCS again. Maybe someone would actually look into it & do their job now? Or maybe you guys could at least apply for more custody than you have now?
Have you or DH asked him about it yet? How he feels? Kids are pretty resilient, & alot smarter than we give credit for. He may have already known something like this was going on, it was just the admission to it that rocked him.
It's admitting it to both of them.
It's a hard position to be in. Just make sure he can talk to you guys & ask what ever he wants, & I think you should come out of it ok. As long as he knows its not his fault.
Is it still true that kids can make the decision of which parent they want to live with at 12? I hope so.

I am going nuts trying to get my house organised im sick of it being a complete mess all the time. i have thrown out 7 garbage bags full of clothes cos paige and tahnie empty their draws on the floor at least twice a week.

Summer took two steps yesterday :o and she is standing all the time without holding on so i think she will be walking soon, which will be no different cos she can crawl at the speed of light anyway.

Anyways im off to do some more cleaning and sorting!!!

How are we all?
I guess we are all busy with christmas? Its so hectic here!
We were in Coffs today, then I'm going to Kempsey tomorrow with a friend, then coming home getting Jaz & hoing to a christmas party for the kids after school. On Friday Jaz is going to the water slide with her school for the last day, so I'm going to take the little kids too.
Then on Saturday we are having a small christmas lunch with my Grandma, before we all o away...
Then on Sunday we are going out to Coonamble.
Had Jaz's presentation night last night. She got an encouragement award. Cool. Plus we've had things on every day since Jesse got out of hospital.
I'm hoping when we get to Coonamble we can sit around doing nothing for a day or 2 before we go over to Anth's parents place for Christmas.

Then when christmas is finaly over, the birthdays all start. From January 1!
It never ends!!!

I can't beleve all our babies are going to be unwrapping their first christmas pressies in just over a week! This year has gone so fast & they've all grown so quickly!!

Before we know it they'll be running around & telling us NO!!

Trina, i was going to say after your last post that maybe Summer will be walking soon and thats why she is waking... omg she is growing up sooo fast - i guess its the other three that she tries to keep up with... MJ is really fst crawling, especially if she is making a run for something that she cant usually play with - like the cat or if the bathroom door is left open! Hope things are OK with you. Christmas is always a bad time with separated families, no one wants to miss out and sometimes the grown ups (im not implying you) forget that its the kids that matter not them :rolleyes: I always dread christmas time, we have been asking for weeks and weeks whats happening and after me writing a letter we thought that we had an agreement, but it seems that she has changed her mind again... how f-ing hard is it to make a decision and then stick to it... it doesnt help with DSS's stability. Oh well, hopefully your X will think about whats right, not what suits him...

Thanks guys for your support, i do appreciate it. Feeling a bit better about it all, but it just sucks.
Skye, yep the age is 12 that they can make a decision, however the guilt and loyalty that DSS has (not to mention that he feels like her career) means that althou he probably would want to live with us, he wouldnt be able to make that choice in a years time, he just doesnt have the ability to seperate himself from him mum and her problems... so we just have to be there for him continually and make his life with us as 'normal' as possible

MJ is so excited with life at the moment, she is squealing and clapping and raising her hands above her head... she saw Santa yesterday at the Musical playgroup that we go to, she had so much fun... when i get a chance i wil upload pics... she looked so cute in her little outfit (it was a dress up day)

Right well i will have to leave it at that, Mum is coming up today so i can work for DH - things are insane atm, i cant wait til next Wednesday - maybe it will have settled by then - and hopefully DH can get to the shops o that i get a pressie for christmas!

Jazz keeps trying to grab the presents under the tree. The other day she'd actually taken my present and was holding it in her lap! The box was almost as big as her!
Matt got some more presents for her yesterday: some floaties that go on the arms, a donut ring seat floaty thing and a bath toy. Does anyone know if you're allowed to take your own floatation devices to a public swimming pool?

Tonight I'm going out shopping alone and one of the things I'm gonna get is some felt to make a giant stuffed J shaped hanging pillow type thing (like the "E" that was on Friends for Emma (Ross & Rachel's baby) if anyone remembers that). Don't think that will specifically be for Christmas though, doubt I'll be finished it by then.

Jazz is sort of taking steps when I'm holding her. I'm starting to do the hold her by the hands and walk encouraging her to take steps thing.

My sister, brother-in-law and nieces will be in Adelaide from Townsville on Christmas Eve. I can't wait to see them!

As far as I know Danni you are allowed too. We always have.

Hey girls,

I am sooooo tired.... I am over waking at several times a night to settle DJ..... argh I just want him to sleep through the night.... sorry to vent....Tooth still only 1/4 the way through, still a while to go.

DJ is good though, doesn't want to have his 5-6pm sleep anymore, prefers to play around..... so is awake for around 5 hours before heading to bed.... still doesn't sleep through the night. If I put him down at 7pm he would wake up alot earlier..... doesn't work for me.

SJ - OMG how horrible!!! Are you ok? Big hugs.... sorry I am a bit late in posting.....

Prama - yeah i know what you mean about daycare. DJ loves going to daycare, he does paintings, texta drawings, playdough, playing with sand. So I find it is a really educational experience for him. He watches what the other kids do as well, so I think it is good for him to be around other babies regularly. In the new year I am extending his days there probably to 3 days per week, 1 day with my stepmum again and then 1 day at home with me. I will wait until he is a year old though. What do you do for christmas? Does Steve's mum come down or do you go see her?

Skye - it is such a busy time of year hey? I have to go to the beautician this afternoon to get some waxing done so dropping DJ off at Doni's work since it is his last day and going to beautician and picking up DJ's christmas layby :) I was going to try and get myself a pedicure done but don't think i will have time doh!!

Danni - how did you go with your christmas shopping? get it all done?

Trina - wow on Summer taking two steps, that is amazing, won't be long at all before she starts walking now. She was always pretty early in the development milestones hey?

Oh yeah. Last night Jazz said Mum so clearly...heaps of times. I didn't think it was possible to fall in love with her even more, but when she kept saying mum my heart melted and I had happy tears in my eyes. At that moment she could have had anything she wanted! This morning by complete fluke while I was giving her some breakfast I said to her "what's my name" and she responded "mum"

Just to let you know what I got Jesse
a few clothes & things, a wagon & sand toys, a cool toy hummer towing a dune buggy (SO neat!) a plastic 'Cars' ride on bike/car thing & one of those bikes you strap them on. Its a 10 month - 3 years one. Its red from Target with a sun canopy on top. Its soooo groovy!

Anyways, I'll pop in here & there. ill be back next Sunday coz I have to sign the lease. Yay!
Probably be busy though with sorting & unpacking our things.

Finally have a chance to sit down and type for a bit.
I just wanted to take some time to thank you all. Whilst some of us have met face to face most of us havent and yet we have formed this bond of motherhood together. Your support your advice your senses of humour and your wisdom in times of trouble have been amazing. Nobody can ever tell me that you dont form a bond with some one over the internet.I count myself very lucky to have met an amazing group of woman who are diverse in their culture, upbringings, life experience and personalities and know I for
one would have been lost some days If I could not have come on here to vent or share sorrows and joys.
There have been some huge ups and downs this year for us all but the one constant wonderufl thing we have shared is the joy of our children and I feel incredibley blessed to have been given the gift of a child to nurture everyday. I hope that if you celebrate christmas that its a day to enjoy your children even more. I get very sentimental at this time of the year and I Know it doesnt always have the same meaning for other people but for me its baout sharing, remembering, laughing and creating new memories. I hope its a magic time for you all in one way or another. Thankyou from the bottom of my heart for the shoulders to cry on , the laughs and the huge amount of support.
I hope that 2009 brings the changes, the new babies, the joys and fun that you wish for and some precious time for yourselves.

Bron, what a lovely message. We don't hear from you often, but when you do post you always seem to have something very important to say.

Don't think there'll be any new babies for me in 2009. I told Matt last night that I don't want another baby with him until his depression is much better and things with us are good. As it currently stands I really don't know if we'll still be together this time next year. To his credit though, he's really making an effort.

Last night Jazz started really standing (while holding things). She's spent heaps of time kneeling up on things but now she's standing for long periods of time. She took what looked to be some huge falls coz she was jumping while holding things, but I dropped everything waiting for the tears and all I got was her looking at me and laughing at my reaction! Silly girl hehehe.

This morning when I got her up she threw up all over me so had to give her a bath and sponge myself off. Put everything in the wash. Just before I got her up I thought about getting dressed for work, sure glad that I didn't!

bron - thanks for the beautiful message, you are so right, I feel the same way too.
Having Lakshman wouldn't be the same without all of you, the journey we've had together.

You are an amazing person and you are right, what a year it has been for all of us... the good the bad and the ugly. You said it all, THANK YOU

MJ has gastro :( she work Sunday night vomiting and came into bed with us and vomited every hour then went back to sleep... Monday morning she had a big spew after her morning booby feed followed by diarrhoea... then that was it, i thought it was all over, she was a bit tired but hey she had been up all night and if im spewing i dont feel great. Well 6pm last night (i gave her no solids all day) she had a feed again and then a spew (all stomach contents - she really heaved and then was fine... she was playing with no nappy on, stood up and pooed everywhere - it was just liquid what a mess, i was struggling with the dog as she wanted to sniff it and MJ was moving her feet and i didnt want her standing in it.
She slept well over night, but again this morning she had a massive diarrhoea (my first ever nappy leak) followed by a smaller one after that.
At lunch time (still no solids) she again had more diarrhoea and this time she was sitting on the potty and i thought that it was a wee it came out that liquid. poor little mite...
Rand Nurse on call - give starchy solids (like rice and potato) and keep her BM feeds up.
Diarrhoea may last 5 days

OH and to top it off my washing machine has gone on the blink and i have poo everywhere - DH is going to look at it when he finishes work tonight.
He has not been to the shops so no xmas pressie for me and i have done all the shopping myslef for both families.

Im tired and over it. I love christmas, but this year i have missed out on so many of the things that i enjoy in the lead up cos DH was worked 16hr days and hasnt had a break for weeks, and the stuff with DSS cntinues so yeah had enough.. grrrhhhh

sorry girls, didnt mean to whinge, i will be back befoe christmas with something positive to say, i promise :redface:

(TMI warning) after every second feed MJ has an explosive poo and everytime i go to the toilet, its honestly like a tap is eing turned on in my bowel. I am just trying to keep the fluids up and avoid Dehydration as otherwise my milk will be affected bah

On a positive note, there is no cramping which is good, but also it means that i have littel warning... ha ha ha you have to see the funny side of it, i could imagine me pooing my pants xmas day !!!

I'll be in trouble if he knows I've written this, but a few months back when we all had gastro and Jazz spent a night in hospital with it, Matt had really bad gastro coming out both ends. He woke up in the middle of the night and was throwing up in a bucket and due to the force of his throwing up he...well, lets just say that we had to change the sheets at 3am! At which point he asked me to get one of Jazz's nappies and wore it like a pad in his jocks for the rest of the night "just in case" :lol: I can laugh about it but it's still a very tender point of (non) discussion in our house!

I hope you get better soon SJ.

Gotta go get Jazz from daycare soon. We finished work at 1pm today after a nice lunch and kris kringle. I'm now off until 5th Jan. :D

Tonight my sister and her family get in from Townsville. Can't wait to see them all again. I'm sure my nieces have changed heaps in the 3 months since they moved up there, I know that Jazz has changed heaps from when my sister last saw her.

Oh Danni, i can sympathise, i NEVER spew in bed for that very reason, i had it both ends last night, but sat on the loo and held a bucket and yeah, it comes out simultaneously so would have stood no chance if i was anywhere else... good idea really to put something there JIC

Hello to all the babies who are in the March 1-15 2008 group. I hope your enjoy your first Christmas and get lots of new toys to play with. I hope your mummy's and daddy's take lots of photos of you "opening" your first presents.

I got an activity centre for my cot, a toy phone, talking handbag and things that went in it, a bath toy and some floties from my mum and dad and father christmas. I wonder what I'll get from all my relatives.

Hope you are all having a great day!! Merry first Christmas to all the bubba's! Jesse was the first awake this morning. His bike is soooo cool! (Took about 3 hours, 6 reassemblies & a six pack or 2 to get together) I got him a neat little pair of Haviana thongs too. Mum & Dad got him a Ninky Nonk train & he got lots of cars. He's sleeping all the excitement off atm.
Enjoy the rest of the day girls & my first drink of Jimmy will be for you guys! Holding out for a few more hours yet...had a bit to drink yesterday too!

Hope you all had a great Christmas...
Ours was memorable to say the least
DH came down with the gastro christmas eve (night) and spent from 1am to 4am vomiting.
He managed to pull hiself out of bed for pressies and then retreated again.
Both DH and I suffered all day with diaarhoea and queasy tummies... i spent Christmas night on the toilet again :(

Molly Jane had a fantastic day and got totally spoilt. Santa brought her (from Mum) a plastic life like doll and she LOVED it... she cuddled and kissed it all day and even patted it on its back it was so cute. Cant even name everything that she got, but it was awesome and we filled a massive box bringing it all home.

We spent boxing day at home - couldnt go to DH's family's place as the gastro would kill his parents... just a nice relaxing day playing out doors and DSS and MJ played in her paddling pool.
Yesterday, i was a bot worried about MJ she still had diarrhoea wasnt weeing much, called nurse on call, told me to give her plenty of fluids (no sh*t sherlock) and offer BM... we ended up going to a water park, she rode a merry-go-round and the tea cups and had a ball - DSS had so much fun... anyway when i got home i still wasnt happy with her urine output, so i decidded to go to hossy. she was admitted as she had mild dehydration (by this stage she has gastro for 5 days, so that was no sprise) anywa, they gave her some Gastrolyte Icypoles (2) and she had that many big diarrhoeas, but looked better, so we went home on the proviso that i would bring her back today... which i did... she is OK, just have to keep giving her the icypoles when she has a big diaarhoea.

I am going to get them from the chemist, and i should recommend to you all that you get some and keep them in the freezer as they are great for adults as well...

Oh - in hosy had to break my cloth streak.. so we managed almost 10 full months with no cloth nappies... but back in them now (dispite the poo!!!)

Heading off camping tomorrow, so wil be MIA for 5 days or so.
May get a chance back on here tonight in between all the packing

Hi all. Glad to hear we all survived Christmas. Well I told you what Jazz got from us. She also got 2 push along walker things that convert - one converts to a ride on and one converts to a pull along trolley. She also got heaps of little toys.

I'm really enjoying my time off work but have so much to do. Cleaning the house, catching up with family & friends. Got a birthday party tomorrow, then Tuesday I'm going to the movies with my sister, Wednesday hopefully nothing until the evening when we're going to a friends for NYE. Thurs evening a BBQ at my Grandpa's. Friday afternoon coffee with a friend. Then the weekend and I don't know what. Then back to work on the 5th.
