I hope Jesse is doing better now Skye - so have you decided to get some MCN's yet or still tossing up? Good on you for considering it!
Prama - when you were saying what Lakshman does at daycare, well i reckon that you could be writing about any baby at this age, seems pretty normal to me
Skye - re the pincing, MJ graps my lip and nose too, its really painful and despite clipping nails, she still manages to hurt. i am not an advocate of smacking, especially at this young age when they dont understand... how do you manage it, we are doing the sad face thing and moving her away, but she thinks that its a game.

lakshman grabs too and boy is it painful!! esp the lips. and then sticks his finger into my mouth to feel my teeth. well, at least it's not as bad as it for steve, poopy just grabs a fistful of chest hair!!
when poopy scratched my cornea, i was crying and he thought it was a game and he laughed. then he wasnt sure, it alternated between laughing and being confused and worried..
I was just pulling back & saying no, but that was amusing for him. So I'm thinking about doing the only thing that stopped the biting - doing it back.
I'm not so sure though. A gentle bite on the hand with out hurting him at all was enough. He just didn't like the feeling. Pinching doesn't seem to bother him. I don't want to hurt him, but I have no idea what to do.
When Anth pretends to cry, Jesse will start crying, so maybe the sad face will work with him.
I agree that I don't see the point in smacking. I did smack him on the hand at 2am this morning when he was up playing & pinching etc. Out of desperation, but he didn't even feel it, so it didn't phase him at all!
Boys are so different! Neither of the girls were amused by biting, pinching, or punching (something he does to the boys - Dad, Anth & some mates.)
He doesn't punch at girls, or other kids, only adult males. He knows it gets their attention & they think its neat coz he's a boy, lol.
All I can hope is that he grows out of the pinching! I think its just something they forget about. Whereas biting is hard. Jaz was a biter when she got excited. She'd come running at you all excited & give you a cuddle & sink the teeth in. Fun!
Dad got her out of it. She did it to him & he looked at her, said 'no, don't you bite poppy' & put her down & walked away from her. She loved her poppy, so that shocked her & she never bit again.
Prama - ALL my kids have swung off my Dad's chest & back hair, lol! They hold onto it for security, so they know they won't fall, & they grip on even tighter if they don't want him to put them down.
Jaz used to go off in her own little world, staring off into space & pull them out!
Funny to watch! Doesn't help that my dad never wears a shirt!
Its so cool watching him walk everywhere now. He hardly ever crawls. I miss it, but he looks so tiny & cute walking!
He's getting better. Still sounding crackly in the chest & has a green runny nose now, but he's happier & is coughing all the crap up now. No fever's, ear aches, sore throat & no more vomitting. They were what I had to watch for.
He had a bit of trouble breathing on Monday night. Thats why I took him into the hossy on Tuesday morning. At one stage I counted 57 breaths per minute. Way too fast, but at that stage all I could do was try & slow it at home myself. Anth was away for the night & I had the girls in bed.
If I hadn't been able to slow it I would've rang mum, but I didn't want to do that at 3am. Not when I wasn't too worried yet.
The doc was worried about his vomitting. There is no explanation for it. He was sick & vomitting just before his birthday too. Because he was vomitting milk & not mucous, or after coughing attacks he wanted to keep an eye on him.
Hopefully that was the last of it & it doesn't happen again. The doc actually rang a specialist in Coffs about it. Kinda scary all these things happening that they have no explanation for.
Jazz pinches a little and shoved her finger up Matt's nose the other week and gave him a blood nose. She's almost broken my nose a couple of times by headbutting it (accidentally) and I've had a bruised cheek bone from a headbutt
