Skye, I tried to write a response in the actual thread but then I had problems with the forum so hopefully this works.
As the other people said, there is no point thinking about the "what if's" you did the right thing, you saved your little boy which makes you a hero. Don't worry about the bruise, it couldn't be helped.
I don't even want to think about how scary that must have been. It scared me when Jazz is chocking on food, but I've never had to take major action like that.

I spoke to my boss about my contract today (which is due to finish 27 March). He said that he will be extending it to 31 December and wants to take me out for coffee soon so we can talk about his plans and expectations etc and provide me with proper feedback. He's been in the job since the end of September but due to so many issues that crop up unplanned (as is the case in HR) he hasn't really had the chance to properly assess what he needs from me therefore I haven't had a huge amount of work from him. That's one of the things we're going to discuss when we get the chance (whenever that is).
So at least I know that I have a job for the rest of the year. Yet to sign the paperwork though, but he's a good man and wouldn't say something he didn't mean. He said that if he wasn't planning to extend my contract that he would have told me ages ago so I could start making plans.

danni hope it all works out
poopy's now starting to scream for no reason!
he's also discovered when he's got food in his mouth and sticks his tongue out, it will come out. he grabs in and examines it, then threws it on the floor!!
eeek 8 days till his bday

Prama, Jazz screams for no reason too. I guess there is a reason actually, mainly when we leave the room or not even if we leave the room, sometimes she gets upset if we stand up off the couch!
I can't believe poppy is going to be one next week! I'm almost crying thinking of our bubs turning 1. Jazz is 11 months exactly today. Her friend who is a month older turned one yesterday.
We are about to enter "toddlerdom"
We got out all our child locks and are going to start using them. We can't use any of the ones that have to be drilled into things though coz this is a rental. But we've got a lock on the under-sink cupboard which is the most important coz that's where all the cleaners are. (though I'm phasing out all (most) chemical cleaners and going eco friendly. I have my mix of part water, part white vinegar which I'm using instead of general purpose cleaner (like spray & wipe).

OMG, we had a full blown hour long tanty today! From Jesse.
We went to the beach for a bit with a friend & her DD & in all the excitement he only had 10 minutes sleep. So he was way over tired.
So anyway he was throwing himself around on the floor screaming & wouldn't let me touch him. Eventually I picked him up & forced boob into his mouth & he stopped instantly!
He usually comes & lets me know he wants it, but he was pretty insistent that he didn't want me!
Just a small preview of whats to come..........yay!
-
skey - oh dear!!!! that's no fun!!
poopy's also starting to protest if we take something away from him!
we had a bad night, poopy's second tooth is giving him so much grief, he woke up at 1ish and couldnt sleep. he was in so much pain and has been crying. panadol, teething gel didnt help.
he finally fell asleep abt 4ish in our bed, then he coughed and threw up all over the sheets.. poor darling. steve took out for a bit of a walk at 5ish and then he fell asleep again. i gave him some break fast at 6ish and he threw it again.
he's finally went to sleep just now.. but keeps waking up and crying ...
poor bubba. he's also got a fever..
we just gave him some hyland tablets and he seems better

Hi all,
Prama there is a tummy bug going around at the moment, ive had it for 5 days, its really horrible he might have that maybe??? Can't believe he is 1 next week they are growing up way too fast.
Summer is climbing everything which is a bit scary she can get on nearly everything and it's such hard work she is a little bundle of trouble this girl of mine always looking for mischief and trouble.
Have to go kids screaming at me from the pool back later
xoxo

Prama - hope poopy is OK, i have found that neurofen is better for teething rater than panadol as it works on inflammation, not sure if this is of any use to you.
47 here yesterday OMG it was hot, we wentto the beach for half the day, so much nicer, when i get a chance i will add some pics to FB
Hope everyone else is well, its hot in NSW today isnt t?
Danni how did you guys go in the heat yesterday? better for the cool change today huh?

Thinking of all of you in Melbourne. Hope you not too close to the fires SJ.
I agree the nurofen works better for teething.
SJ Paddy now doesn't need to be rocked to sleep. I can put him in his bed and he'll usually go to sleep. I had the same problem with him screeming if I tried and didn't want to do CC. Has MJ something she uses as a comforter? Paddy has a "shay" (muslin wrap) that he likes to rub across his face.
I started trying to put him to bed awake at night. He seemed to settle faster because it was dark. I would keep my hand on him because it was mainly seperation anxiety. The next step was to stay in the room until he settled (didn't work that well but would stop him going into hysterics and I could try to resettle him). Then one day I just put him down facing away from the door, walked out, didn't close the door and he went to sleep. At night I offer him water or just a cuddle unless he's having trouble with his teeth, bf seems to soothe this.
We don't have perfect sleep by any means and sometimes they just want a cuddle. I think that sometimes I caused him more problems by hanging around. A bit like when kids first start school. The quicker the seperation the better.
Keep your chin up chicky. She'll be a teenager soon enough and you won't be able to get them out of bed ;)

Hope anyone in Melbourne is ok.
I was having a hard time getting Jazz back to sleep when she woke up at 5am this morning. I gave her a bottle but she was so upset. I ended up getting a cot sheet and wrapping her like I used to when she was first born. As soon as she was wrapped she instantly stopped crying and within 2 minutes was asleep! I think I'll try that again. I can't believe at 11 months she might need to be wrapped again! Cot sheets are the right size for wrapping big babies though!
I got a sewing machine yesterday. My Grandpa gave me my late Grandma's machine so I'm remembering back to year 8 home ec and sewing scrap bits of material to get used to the machine. I have a few pairs of pants that I need to hem soon.
6 days till my first wedding photography job. Can't wait!

I had Jesse putting himself to sleep when he was little, but the BFing makes it difficult coz he's always come into my bed after his first night feed. Now he won't go into the cot at all unless he's asleep.
i'm trying to get out of the needing boob for comfort thing, but its not easy. Boys are so clingy! The girls weren't still BF at this age, but just in general he's alot more needy for me.
I spose it doesn't help that he was never away from me at all for the first 8 months.
Anthony's on his way here. Dad's gone to get him so he can spend some time with the kids & then they are going to WA to work for a while.
All dad's idea & they had it all planned before I found out on Friday. They'll be here about 6 tonight, if not earlier.
Not sure how I feel about it yet. A bit nervouse, but wanting the kids to see him. He's staying at mum & dad's.
Hope everyones well. Got heaps to do.
Later girls!

Hi girls,
Hope all is well with you all and no-one is in the middle of the bushfires. Absolutely terrible :( This weather doesn't help much and I think Melb hasn't had much rain at all........
How are your bubbas? I can't believe they are all turning 1 soon - so surreal!!! Do yours sleep by themself or do you need to pat them or rock them to sleep. DJ won't get out of the habit and it is driving me nuts.... He always need to be close to go to sleep.... I need to start doing some controlled crying I think.... or something. Any suggestions or advice most welcome.
SJ - good to know you aren't anywhere near the fires.... take care in the heat hun xx can you please send me the link to the thread you started on sleeping? I am still having issues with DJ. I will try and find it though.
Danni - good luck for your wedding photo shoot I am sure you will do so well.
Prama - OMG Poopy is going to be 1 year old this Saturday - you must be excited!! on the teething, DJ goes through the same thing, it really aggrovates him he doesn't cope well with teething and neither do I haha Hope he has a better night sleep.
Teach - good routine with the sleeping I am going to try a few things to help DJ sleep by himself because even at daycare they are having to pat or rock him to sleep.
Trina - sounds like mischievous DJ as well.... he is sooooo cheeky, crawls off really quickly when he knows he is doing something he should be doing....
Skye - yeah the tantrums are starting here too. DJ throws his arms up waving them around like a bird haha
Bron - have fun up the coast with Will.
Anyway I better go and feed DJ, chat later girls. if I have missed anything big hugs
Hope all is well

Hi Girls,
Long time no speak!
I finally got back online to see what you are all up to but don't have time to go back over the pages!
On the sleep issue. As I have said in the past "Save Our Sleep" is a great book. Before we went overseas Caitlin was in a great routine but with the jetlag, 12 month injections & heatwave etc when we got back she has been out of whack. We were told by the MCHC that she would have to be "retrained" so we went back to the book and started her on the routine last week. It has been a rough few days but now she is usually asleep within 10 minutes of being put in bed. She still protests at the start but it only lasts about a minute and then she lies down and drifts off.
Hope all of the little ones are doing well and teeth aren't causing too many sleepless nights.
Jo.

Me thinks I better get a book and do some reading.

Good to see you again Jo and happy birthday to Caitlin. I hope she had a good day.
Prama, Happy birthday to Poppy for the weekend. I wont get a chance to post a birthday wish on Sat due to photographing my friend's wedding.
I'm ready to go to sleep and it's only 3:15pm.

OMG all these babies are turning 1!
I can't believe it!
