Hi Guys - So where is everyone anyway? Seems like only a few of us posting these days?
Tanya - I hope all is OK in your world.
Jenna just gave herself a black eye :( She was running around, jumped inside her playtent and there was a truck in there from last time. Well guess what her head landed on! Poor thing gets sooooooo clumsy when she is tired!! Ratbag woke up at 5:00am and wouldn't go back to sleep after her feed. I was getting rather sick of being kicked in the head, but we tried to ignore her. When she started slapping Shane in the face we figured she REALLY wasn't going back to sleep. So early napfor her today which works well as we have an open home today at 2pm that we have to bug off for!
PMSL on the playgroup Deb - I am going to take Jenna hopefully to the Newcomb one next term. Hopefully! If they have places and all that jazz. if not, our MG might have to start one up. Which wouldn't bethe end of the world as there are 8 of us still meeting fortnightly, and all the babies play very nicely together.
What a hoot watching tehya spin around Trish! They are all getting to that cute age - well cut until the tantrums start!!
Better go and clean up - and get the roast pork ready for tonight.
Fi
-
Fi, yeah looks like everyone has left us in here. Too busy posting everywhere else :)
Ouchie on Jenna's eye, hope that it's ok. Tehya falls over or walks into things alot too when she is tired. How did your open home go today?
Tehya has already started on the tantrums, but thankfully so far, they are easy enough to distract her from.
Tanya, yeah girl, how are you doing?? How's little miss Violet going? And the big girls too of course.
Not too much happening here. Mark took the kids out to his nephew Thaisens 1 st birthday today. He will be 1 on Tuesday, the same as my nephew Ned. I, on the otherhand, went scrapping again :) Made a box album with a pretty well know scrapper Jen Hall. Still haven't finshed btu as soon as I do Iwill take some pics and put a link to them fas well as the 3d box I did on Thursday night. I finished that with the last coat yesterday. And we booked in for another class on Mon 26th. YAY, I'm finally going scrapping again :)
-
Woo hoo for getting back into the scrapping, Trish. It's always good to have a little "me" time. I've been trying to do a few pages too... but I am making a little scrap book for Paige. Her Mum has seen mine and liked it - though she said she'd never be able to do it herself. We all know that's a load of piffle (if I can do one anyone can! LOL) but it's not everyone's cup of tea. Naturally I have stacks of photos of Paige and Gabby playing around the house so I thought I'd whip up a simple scrap book and give it to them before we move. They don't really want us to move... new friendships and all. From that POV, it sux. Some days I really just want to stay in Geelong and make Neil commute, LOL. Not gonna happen!
Fi - ouchies 4 Jenna's eye! Nice shiner, hey? Good job with looking into the playgroup. I'm so glad that we go. The ladies are lovely. It's a bit churchy but not too OTT so we can handle it. Good to hear your MG is still getting together which is great. Ours sort of does but not as a big group. Ah well. Hope the roast pork was delish!
Gabby didn't have a nap today! Oooer! I tried to put her down but she just wanted to play. Mind you, she didn't get to bed until midnight last night because we were at my sister's for her birthday (I know.. irresponsible parents... but she was playing happily and we didn't realise the time!). Annnnyway, we got a sleep in until 9am. Even then, Neil got up to her (I didn't hear him get up, nor did I hear her cry out) and I got to sleep until 10:30am!! Woo hoo! So I don't think she really needed a nap. She was off to bed early tonight tho so what's the bet she wakes at the crack of dawn?
Week 3 of Neil being away. Apparently they are having some kind of family day on Sunday so Gab and I have to head up to Hammo (that's what we are calling it now) for the weekend. Not sure how we are going to get there. Last time we took my car it cost us $100 one way!! Arrgh! Piece-O-Crud. I was going to ask my friend if I could borrow her car while she was in Thailand but they've already gone. I could catch the train I suppose... might look into that.
-
Deb, the little album sounds like a great idea, very sweet of you. Maybe you should make 2, one for Paige's mum and 1 for Gab :) YAY on the sleep in too. Hope that you had a great night out at your sisters birthday and made up for being irresponsible ;)
Family day will be nice, don't know how you will keep Gab still on the train, how long is the trip. Sorry i have no idea when it comes to suburbs in Victoria.
Fingers corssed the Gab slept decently for you.
We got an average nights sleep, you know, one that has you awake 3 times for 5 minute sucks of bb, hair pulling, farting (tehya, not me). Well, thats an average nights sleep for me.
It has been so peaceful here. Well, since Wednesday. Had a big arguement with Joel and he decided to get physical, IYKWIM. Anyway I called Mum and she cames down and decided to take him back to her house for the night. HMMMM, he's still there. Seems that he's enjoying being there. And why wouldn't he, Mum does everything for him apart from wiping his butt. I asked him lastnight when he is coming and home and he said he doesn't know, it's peaceful up there. I think the whole point of him going up there has been lost and now he thinks of its just a holiday.
Anyway, probably shouldn't go on about it in here.
Hope that everyone had a great weekend :)
-
I girls, I am ok.... just trying to keep away form the computer!! I was getting that was that I thought I might decompose in front of the darn thing!
Violet is good... nearly had 6 teeth!! Sheesh it is taking a long time! I suppose one way to look at it is they have less time to rot before her second set ;) j/k!! She is actually getting to like brushing her teeth... well she is better than when I started!
Emily and Alecia are good too :) Alecia's best friend moved to Echuca, so she was upset at the end of semester. She wanted to go and visit, and I said I would think about it. Anyway, yesterday at almost 10am I told her to get out of bed... to which she replied, but it's holidays! Anyway, she gets up and lays on the kitchen floor and carries on. So she isn't going to visit her friend!! Tough titty!!
Ummmm... Wato is good, he is waiting for work to start up agin, he works 2-3 days a weeks, so I had to stuff around with centerlink!! Grrr... dumb asses!! Hopefull Wato will be back to working 5days (at least) in the next couple of weeks!
Brrr it's cold!! Coldest days of June on record here! -6!! Brrr and a frost almost every morning!
Anyway... I am sure there is more I need to catch up on, but I can't think atm!
Tanya
-
Yay Tanya for checking in - I'm glad eerything is OK withyou - except for the normal teenager issues of course!!!
Day 2 of being home alone. Shane checked intowork yesterday. He has a full clearance, and turned up for work, and they told him to F*** Off!!!!! So hopefully that will get sorted out soon. If nothing else, it might mean he finally gets his redundancy as they can't keep him off site for more than 7 days, but on the negative side - it means we have no money coming into the house. We are pretending that I'm on holidays this week and thats where the money is coming from, but hopefully it wont drag on for too long.
I might have to go into centrelink too!! Get myself back onto the parenting payment.
Deb - have a safe drive up to Hammo - Given that I come from Hamilton (albeit a different country's one) I affectionately know mine as Hamil-hole. Its got a lot better than since I grew up there - a big cafe scene, and very boutiquey, but certainly not that way growing up!!
Trish - bloody children!! I am dreading having my own teenagers. Its bad enough with Shanes. He goes to his sons footy every week, and is ignored every time. Now his 15yearold has dreadlocks. Lovely I'm sure!
We are all fine here other than that. Jenna is an absolute sponge at the moment. I sang twinkle twinkle to her a couple of times yesterday, and she already knows it!! She makes a little triangle with her fingers for the diamond. And this morning - I went "Shhh" to her, and she put her finger up to her mouth. I have NOOOOO idea where she learnt that one from. Not her father thats for sure!!! Probably tele.
Fi
-
Fi, LOL on the dreadlocks. My big boys are going throught the feral hair atm too. Shame that Shane is getting ignored. Still atleast he is making the effort to go to the games, far more than what Joels Dad does. Lets just not go there.... Buggar about Shanes work too, hope it all gets sorted out for you guys soon. Perfect timing hey!!!
Tehya is a right sponge too, have to be very careful what we say in front of her now. Yesterday we learnt 2 new words, Duck (yes the yellow kind) and ball. Today she is saying Pop and working on biccy (sp).
Tanya, you can keep your horrible weather girl, Thats far too cold for anyone, I htink the coldest day we've had so far is around 12 degrees and that was bloody freezing.
Sounds like your going to have fun these holidays, it's always good when they have a friend you can send them to :) LOL@ Violets teeth not getting a chance to rot. Ahh the positive side hey :) Fingers crossed that Wato's working more soon for you guys too.
Well, I have a sick baby again today. We were up at 3am wiht her vomiting, she didn't even ask for a feed to go back to sleep with and normally that s the only way she will crash out, then again between 5.30 and 6 am, had a little feed after that one and another spew by 6.30 this one she had something to bring up, everywhere. I wasn't going to bother taking her to the Dr's. Probably viral and nothing they can do but she just wouldn't stop vomiting so I took her down and he said if she keeps going at this rate she will have to be admitted to hosp for IV rehydration.
Thankfully, so far she hasnt been sick for a couple of hours.
She's in bed asleep now, probably the best place for her. Plus it gives me a break :)
-
Trish - awww poor Tehya. Bloody hell.. the poor child has had a rough trot with illness! Hugs for you all. Hope she gets better soon and no more spews.
Fi - LOL @ Hamil-hole. What a crack-up! Glad it has improved since tho. Clever Miss Jenna with all her new tricks. They are amazing little creatures, hey? Hope everything gets sorted with Shane's work. Bastards!
Tanya - good to hear that all is good (except for Wato's work arrangements... hope they improve). Oh dear... can I say I am not looking forward to the teenage years?? LOL Sounds like you have your hands full there. Yay for Violet brushing her teeth. Gab is getting good at it too. She'll let me have a little go and then she'll do some brushing herself. Sometimes we brush our teeth together. It's sooo cute!
My sister hung out with us today. We did a bit of window shopping then met Paige and her Mum down at one of the playcentres. Gabby is getting more and more confident at those places which is good and bad... it means she tries to wander off where all the big kids are and gets knocked over in the process. Still, it was nice to see her having fun. She bombed out in the car on the way home and is still asleep. Guess I should wake her if I want to get to bed at a decent hour tonight.
-
Update on Tehya, vomiting seems to have stopped but has been taken over by the runs. Ahhh it never ends hey. Still she seems ok, Still happy enough, albeit abit quieter, not that I'm complaining about that, just a shame she has to be sick to be quieter.
Deb, sounds like you had a good day. YAY on Gab crashing out for you. Must've been tuckered out poor chook.
-
Glad to hear that Tehya is getting better. Not sure if the runs are better than vomiting tho... both pretty gross! Poor little chicken. Hope the other kids don't get sick aswell (or you and Mark for that matter).
Neil is having an ok time doing his training. I think he's a little bored. It's a lot of sitting around. Apparently they allowed half a day for each module they have to do and they are getting through each one in an hour. They've had paper-plane making competitions and have kicked the footy around for hours on end. It's certainly not what he is used to! I told him to make the most of it. Still... I guess it would be boring. Sounds like Uni, LOL.
-
LOL, Deb, atleast he is spending some time team building :) Hows the week going for you? Boring for you too???
Tehya decided to give me a cuddle from behind tonight, I was sitting on the loungeroom floor and she came up and cuddled me, all sweet. Well, so I thought til it got very warm. Yep, she spewed all over my back, a big one, yummy, thank God I had my dressing gown on and it went on that. All washed and dried again now, thanks to the clothes drier.
Ahh the joys of being a mum :)
-
Ewwwwwww!! Oh my gosh... the things we do!! LOL
I'm ok actually... not bored at all. It's nice to be able to tidy the house and not have Neil mess it up!! LOL I can eat dinner when I want to and come and go as I please.... not that he's demanding or anything... but, uno, our world kind of revolves around them when they are at home. I'm kind of enjoying the solitude. I can be a bit of a hermit at the best of times. AND I get the WHOLE bed to myself, LOL.
-
LOL, Love having the bed to myslef, although Tehya always ends up in it. I was a single mum for around 6 years and let me just say sometimes it was just so good not to have to worry about anyone else other thatn the 2 boys. I could come and go when I wanted, not have to get anyones "approval" on anything. Then of course there was nobody there to share Brandons first steps or things like that.
Enjoy your solitude hun, and make sure you take some time and have a nice, hot bubble bath when Gab is in bed without anyone expecting you to dirty your body the minute you get out ;)
Tehya had a reasonably good night, of course she woke up but the were no vomit episodes, or this morning....Yet......
-
Hi All,
Yuck on the baby spew down the back Trish!! Hopefully it was more a liquid one than a food one, or is she still eating OK? I hope she starts feeling better really soon.
I have had lots of spew experiences with Jenna, but the best one was when she filled my ear with her mess. Charming.
It is nice to have a bit of space huh Deb? And you are lucky that you have family to come and help out. How do you reckon you will go moving away from them? Might be pretty hard huh?
As for Neil - well being an operator on a 24hr plant is a bit like that. I found as long as you kept doing all your logs, and kept all the equipment running, we were able to have about 4 hrs free of a 12 hr shift. During that time you could be constructive and go learn about different parts of the plant, or you could be lazy and sleep (night shift), eat (thus lots of shift workers are fat!) sit around talking, or read! Oh - or play computer games.
Its par for the course. It makes up for the nights where there are process problems that have you running around chasing your tail - allllllll night! Tell neil to get into it and enjoy this part of the new lifestyle!
Jenna hada shocker last night from about 1am. We have no idea why, but the poor thing was screaming so hard that she wasalmost going into convulsions. She was warm (we dont have a thermometer) so I took her nappy off, put her in a pair of pants, put a hat on and told Shane to take her for a walk upthe road to cool her off a bit. She screamed the whole way!
My guesses at the time were teething, tummy pains, or UTI. We gave her some panadol, and after about 30 mins she calmed down enough to come to bed with us, and then started up again. I gave her booby (thank god I'm still feeding) and finally she dropped off about 3:30am.
We were almost ready to take her in to emergency. It was quitescary! But this morning, absolutely no problems. She had a huge breakkie, lots of water, and is happily bouncing around the place chasing the cats! What goes on here?
So hopefully she wont get worse otherwise I'mnot sure how we will get an appt withthe dr at this late stage of the morning.
Can you believe I'm doing this all again?
Fi
-
Fi, Just a question, Did Jenna seem to be awake during this yet unresponsive or was she alert?? The only reason I ask this is because at around the same age my little brother started to have night terrorrs where he would seem like he was awake but was infact asleep and having these terrors. If that is what it was the only thing you can really do is sit ith her through out it. Otherwise goodluck on finding out what it is...
Oh yeah and on the spew, it was chunky :)But not nearly as bad as the one that followed.
-
Oh gosh, Fi. Poor Jenna! How scary that must have been... and what a mystery?? Maybe Trish is on to something with night terrors?? Poor little chicken. Hope that she has a better night tonight.
How did your appointment go? How are you feeling? I guess I'll see you tomorrow and you can fill me in then, hey? LOL
LOL @ shift workers often being fat. I think Neil will be someone more inclined to keep busy and do constructive stuff, like you said. He hates sitting around and prefers to keep busy. He is hopeless if he's on holidays for longer than a week... if he doesn't have a purpose, he feels lost. He's the complete opposite to lazy-bum me, LOL.
It is great having family around to help. Just had my sister and her BF over for dinner. I had a beef casserole cooking in the SC (still making big meals so I can freeze some for Neil) so I figured some company wouldn't go astray. I will miss them when we move.... it's gonna be tough! Esp. when we all get sick. Mum won't be able to just pop over and look after us.
Trish - I guess it would have taken a bit of getting used to sharing again once you and Mark moved in together. I guess there are some positives to single parenting, hey? Must get lonely at times tho.
Gabby's routines has gone out the window... arrgh! She slept in until 10am this morning. As good as that sounds, it's way too late. Naturally, she wasn't ready for a nap until like 4pm and that's just too late. So I had to string her out. She was in bed by 7pm so hopefully that will get her back on track. Too many late nights and late rises in a row.
She has the "yes" and "no" thing down pat. I asked her this afternoon when she was chucking yet another tanty if she wanted a dummy and she nodded!! OMG! She'll quite happily shake her head for "no" too... usually when I ask for a kiss... little turd! She also runs away when she knows I want to change her nappy or her clothes. She'll run off cacking herself laughing. Cheeky monkey!
-
Aww Deb, Gab sounds too cute. LOL @ her refusingthe kiss too. Noah's usually the only one around here that can get them when asking Tehya. We usually have to wait until she is handing them out. Funny how soon they learn the Yes and No hey. I asked Tehya something this afternoon and she said NO to me. Hmmm, better get that out of her ;) The answer is always Yes Mum!!! :)
Buggar about her being out of routine. Fingers crossed she sleeps good for you tonight and wakes up at a reasonable time in the morning.
Yes it was very hard adjusting to share parenting again. It is so hard to sit back and let someone else tell your kids what to do, not that Mark rushed in or even said that much but YKWIM.
YAY on your dinner turning out great. My SC has been given the last 2 nights off, and probably tomorrow night too. Mark cooked spag bol tonight. I don't minnd it but these days when he cooks thats all we get, if I want something really different I have to cook it. Abit of overkill on the spag I think.
Fi, if you check in I hope tonight is better for you guys :) Hope that your appointment went well too.
-
Hi All,
Didn't end up going for a drs appt. Didnt seem worth it as she was pretty much normal yesterday. She threw a couple of tanties towards the end of the day, but I think she was just so tired.
She didn't sleep well again last night, but at least there was nbo hysterics. Shane adn I are both thinking she had a sore tummy as she did 3 poos yesterday afternoon - all hard. Her bum is also red, so maybe some tooth action going on too.
She has had night terrors before Trish - so I dont think it was that - this was a real conscious awake "pain" cry.
LMAO on the yes no Deb. We get that too. We also get more, more more!! And she is always happy to kiss the cats, but not always us! They are so bloosy minded aren't they?
Fi
-
Trish - LOL @ Mark only cooking spag bol. Neil will only cook meat, potato and veg usually. He loves his "blokey" tucker, LOL.
Fi - LOL @ Jenna kissing the cats and not you guys. Damn animals get all the lovin'! Twas good to catch up today. I had some photos to give you but forgot so remind me to hand 'em over when I see you next week.
Awww... Gabby said "baby". It was so cute. She brought a dolly out to the kitchen and gave it a cuddle (she says "awwww" when she cuddles her toys then we have to do it too... and give them kisses... though our kisses don't have as much drool and snot as her's, LOL). Annnyway, I said, "Are you giving the baby some cuddles?" and she said "Baby" loud and clear! Can't get her to say it again tho, LOL.
Had a delightful day today. Visited a friend for lunch (homemade pumpkin soup... yum!) and Gabby had a nice, big sleep in her portacot. Then we went to a play centre to hang with Fi and Jenna and Bec and Eliza and one other lovely lady from our ANC. The kids had SUCH a great time and it was much better once the bigger kids left (some of them are SO rough and shouldn't be playing in the toddler section.. grrr!).
-
Deb, sounds like you girls had a great day out. How cute on Gab saying BABY. All wee get is bubba and thats usually at other "bubba's" who are much bigger nd older than Tehya... Got to love that pumpkin soup hey. I grabbed a huge butternut and sweet potato yesterday so I can make some.
How hard is it not to tell the bigger kids to go and play in "their" section. Once they are gone atleast you can relax then.
Hope that whatever it was disturbing Jenna has left her alone now Fi. Tehya would love to be able to kiss the cat that resides here. We inherited it when we bought the house. He looks so much fatter and healthier now, but he's not aloudinside the house. Mark hates cats to start with so it's lucky that Noah and Tehya took a liking to it or it would've went be bye's by now. The talking I had to do to save him :) Plus I'm allergic to him.... I sneakly let him in one rainy day when Mark was at work because I felt sorry for him and I could not stop sneezing and my eyes were that itchy and runny. Hmm last time I feel sorry for him like that. LOL.
Tehya is much better now thankfully, had a small chuck this morning but nothing to worry about. Now I have Joel at home - yest too, with a virus. He has a shocking cough, aches and pains. Just sounds like the flu to me.
Better go, Tehya just came over to me and told me Pooo and did the hand wave. Yup, she sure has. Blerrrggggg. At this rateI might get her telling me before she goes sooner rather than later :)
-
Lucky cat, Trish. Neil hates them too so there's no way we will ever be able to get one. I am allergic to cats too... pretty strange since I grew up with them! But my eyes itch and my nose starts running. Doesn't stop me from patting the cats at my Mum's place tho. They've been around longer than Charlie (my dog) so I'm not going to stay away from them! I refuse!! LOL
LOL @ Tehya telling you about her poos! Clever chook.
Hope your soup turns out delish... I'm sure it will!
We have my sis (a different one from the other night) and her BF coming over for dinner so I have porcupine meatballs cooking away in the SC. Smells yum!
Went back to the playcentre this morning to meet with the playgroup girl's this time. I got there early because I saw how feral it was yesterday and I wanted to grab a couple of tables. Well, half of them were reserved!! Grrr... I managed to find two big ones up the back but had to defend them with my life. I had Mum's trying to take chairs and park themselves at the tables. Had to spread all my stuff out so it looked like there were heaps of people already using the tables, LOL. Thank goodness the girl's all rocked up and put their stuff down so that I could stop being a table-nazi!
Gab had a riot of a time. She's so clever in there. She must have had enough practice yesterday because she was whizzing herself down the slide unaided. It's amazing how fast they pick things up!
-
Hey all,
SOo funny Deb - we went back there yesterday too! Guess what jenna did - in and out of the cars for an hour!!!!! Shane thought it was great.
We just had dinnenr out at a mexican restaurant intown. I swear that child will eat anything! We are very lucky - I reckon we could go to Asia and eat street food and she would still be happy. Maybe not her bum.....
I am now unable to order myself acoloured drink without having to share it! She cracks it if shes not getting some too. And thehigh chairs were atrocious. I dont think restaurants realise how much harder life is for families when they have badhigh chairs. There is only one place in Geelong where we have had success with the chair - and the food aint crash hot :(
Glad to hear you are a softy with cats too Trish - just a shame about the allergies!! And how clever is Tehya with the "poo comment". Jenna will get us a bib now, so we are slowly working up there.
We finally figured out what the tummy upset was about. We got a berry smoothie fromone of the juice bars the other day, and Jenna had HEAPS. It must have taken a day for all the berry acid to work itself to her tummy (and nappy area......) Her bum is already on the mend.
I hope all else are well!
Fi
-
hey ladies
I wish Bella would start to talk!I get part sounds but nothing else! I get mumma or dadda but thats all!
I suppose when you have older brothers and sisters you don't need to talk.
-
Jess I have found that both Teyya and Noah learnt to talk quicker having the bigger kids around. I guess it'd different for all bubs. But I do KWYM about the bigger kids talking for the younger ones.
Fi, isn't in fantastic having a baby that will eat anything. Tehya is the same, although I'm sure around the age of 2 we will be saying they don't eat anything. Poor Jenna's bum, hope it's better soon. It's pretty hard up here to get a decent CLEAN highchair too. The last thing I want to do is put Tehya in a filthy chiar with some other kids half eaten food on it. With Tehya and her telling me she's done a poo, everytime shes done one I will go "Poo Tehya, you done a poo?" Now she knows what it is and what it's called she tells me.
Deb, hope that your dinner turned out nice too. The porcupine balls are a hit around here. I really should make them again. Sounds like you all had fun at the play centre. YAY on Gab getting abit more assertive and sure of herself. Just what we want, more assertive young girls. LOL. Mark says Tehy is just plain stubborn and I said maybe now it's a hassle but when she's a young woman we will be happy because she won't get trampled upon. Well, thats the plan anyway :)
I went out to raffles again on Friday night, didn't have a lot of money and was even thinking of not going, but then Mark came in late from work (he stopped at a mates house so I thought stuff it, I'm going. I spent about $40 on tickets and because I had rejoined the club a got a book of vouchers, 1 of them a $10 meal and another $10 worth of free tickets. Everytime I say I'm going to get some last minute tickets they go on selling for another 5 minutes which is heaps more numbers. Anyway this time I go and get them when he says there is 1 minute left and he actually stops when he says he's gonna. Anyways........ I won!!!! Yep and not just a meat tray this time.... I was the 3rd person out for the major prizes and I won a 68cm flat screen tv. :confetti:
Shame it wasn't a plasma but hey beggers.....
We are going over to pick it up this afternoon as there wasn't the room in the car on Friday night. Looks like now we will be double shuffling tvs. We are going to put the other big tv we have in the lounge into the big boys room (God only knows where we will fit it) and of course the new one will be inside, and the boys tv (56cm I think) will be going into our room. Now every room apart from Tehya's has a tv in it. :D
Yesterday we had a friends son's birthday party and then I went from there to Joels footy game (he was only on for about 20min in the second half) he's still pretty sick so the coach was keeping him off. Then after the game back home, Marks Dad and his nieces were up so we had them back at the house too. Busy Busy... Today will be quieter. I hope
Hope that you all have a great Sunday.
ETA. Tehya's webpage has been updated. The 15 month folder. Have a look if you want.
-
Hi girls :)
brrr it's cold!
Violet will talk your ear off!! She runs around the house after Wato saying "daddy, daddy"... sounds so cute! I wish I could get it on camera but it is busted! I think I need to take it in to be fixed!
Trish... well done on the tv!!
Violet know when she has done a poo... although she hasn't told us yet... I ask her if she has poo and she grabs hold of her nappy.
Deb, how did the dinner go?
Jess don't wish for Bel to talk too soon! you know how annoying a talking child can be!! lol
Fi, it's great when they eat what ever you give 'em, huy? Violet is the same... we call her garbage guts :) . Luckily she doesn't get sore bums. SHe did have a fair amount of eczma on her chest but that is clearing up since I change our bread. I will only buy bakers bread now... no preservatives :)
Goiing to the movies with one of my sisters today We are seeing the Di Vinci Code... I've heard it's crap, but I still want to see it. Loved the book :)
Also there is a craft show on in Shep, I might see if she wants to go to that b4 hand.
Tanya
-
Tanya - hope you had a lovely day today. Was the movie any good? I don't know if I'll ever get to go to the movies again, LOL. Dinner was good... this time the rice was cooked just nicely (last time I made porcupine meatballs the rice was still a little hard... but still edible).
Trish - SCORE! Well done on winning a new TV! Always an asset! LOL @ there being a TV in every room except for Tehya's.
Jess - you're probably right there. Mum said that my youngest sister, Erin, wasn't a huge talker. She said she could say the words just fine but didn't really need to talk a great deal because it would mean having to compete against her 3 older sisters, LOL. The same went for housework when she was older. Somehow she got out of a lot of stuff because she was just too darn slow so we'd end up doing it for her. Slow?? I think not. Cunning?? Yep!
Fi - LOL @ Jenna playing with the car for so long. She loved them, hey?? Gab was like that at first too but I think the novelty wore off when she got one for her birthday. What did Shane think of the play centre? The one time Neil has been with us, I think he had more fun than Gabby did, LOL. Still... it's nice to sit back and watch Daddy's play with their kiddies. They're just so darn good at it! Glad you found the culprit to Jenna's tummy ache. Damn those berries!
Neil has gone again for yet another week. I'm starting to feel it now. Nearly cried when he drove off (I know... sooky la-la). We spent the weekend cleaning the house up some more (my GOD it is filthy, LOL). I was scrubbing the walls while Neil was pulling things apart in the bathroom to clean it all out. It's amazing how nice it all comes up! I've told him it's something we will have to do at least once a year in our next house.
Gab is doing well. She has been delightful lately... just really happy and hardly sooky which is great. Probably lulling me into a false sense of security ;)
-
Awww Deb... It won't be long and you will have him back full time :) It's funny how we miss them... I love having Wato just hanging around the house.
The movie was good... they left lots out and change a bit, but it was ok... Now I can't wait to see Pirates of the Caribbean :D
Tanya

Ooo yeah, that'll be a good one to see, Tanya. I loved the first one!
Went to the gym today and dropped Gab off at the creche for the first time. She had a ball - didn't even notice I wasn't there. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing?? LOL
She was playing with crayons when I came back later... cheeky monkey knows she's not allowed to play with them yet (because she eats them, LOL)

Hey Ladies
Thought it was about time I caught up with you all again. Slack arent I?
Hayley is doing really well, teething again but not too bad. If only she would sleep better I would be very happy! She is now walking everywhere, and is into climbing in a big way! She is a little slow on the talking though, which I guess is to be expected with having the 2 older ones around. She has also taken to telling people off, shaking the fingers and talking gibberish, very funny! The other thing is she knows when she is naughty, so when we ask are you being naughty? Do you need a smack? She nods and smacks herself in the head LOL! Guess she will discipline herself!
My sisters new boss had her baby yesterday, a little girl born at 28w, severe PE. Weighing 600gms. I hope that she copes okay. But she is breathing on her own, so that is a really good sign.
Not much else happening here. I decided that I would get the girls up early today, bout time, but now they are all laying on the couch sleeping. I have a list a mile long of stuff that I need to do today, and they cant even get out of their pj's! I guess thats what holidays are for!
My psychic reading happened last week and since then I have been sooo happy, not sure why! I got a few messages from my Dad and Mum, so that was really nice. Not as good as I would have hoped but guess it takes time. She told me that Shannen is struggling with her grief, and when I questioned her about it, she broke down, blaming herself for me not being with my Dad when he passed. Hopefully I got it through to her, that it wasnt meant to be, time will tell I guess.
Looks like DH is off to Sydney possibly tomorrow. Gotta love their notice!
Just have to organise dinner for tonight, should be fun! Tayla has requested shepherds pie, so thought I would put heaps of vegies in with it, they arent eating that well right now. Since the butchers has a special on mince, I thought Chow Mein for tomorrow night too. That will save me running around tomorrow too.
My adorable(NOT) sister is coming over tomorrow night for dinner and to steal half my tools, hope she brings them back!
Anyway, huge HI to you all, will try to pop in a little more often...but then again next week I am stripping wallpaper and painting so maybe not?

Hi All,
Tanya - great to see you. I enjoyed the movie too. I loved the book - not as much as the rest of the world, but it was still a good read. I'm looking forward to Pirates too!! That might be my birthday present if its still on in Gold Class in a few weeks time. Woohoo!! 30 years old. joy.
Jenna is the same witha poo - you ask her and she looks all guilty. A couple oftimes she has come to us grabbing our arm for a nappy change, but they are few and far between.
Deb -Aw on neil going back. As tanya says - it wont be too long til you are back together for good driving each other nuts ;) Dont you just lvoe marriage?
Trish - Fantastic on the telly!!!! What a fabbo thing to win. Lucky you :D
Funny thing today - I wsa at Kmart getting a new umpiring jumper, and a woman in the checkout line said - "Aw - look at her lovely curls". I said back "yeah - you should see how long it takes me to do them in the morning!". She looked at me very strangely until I started laughing, so I have decided that is my new line when people comment on the curls. I have also started clipping a small amoutn of hair off to the side, its super cute so that she looks like a girl. Lucky thing having her mum home. No more dirty eating of worms and snails and things, and fun times all about girly stuff ;)
Fi
-
LOL Fi... all pink and frills now, hey?? ;) Good call on the curls. How funny that the lady thought you were serious! Woo hoo for turning 30!! No big party??
-
Fi, LOL At Jenna and the worms. How nice is it to be able to put clips in. Tehy ahs girls too, don't know where she got them from though, both Mark and I have straight hair as do our parents :) Love your comment very funny, I just just imagine the girl standing there with THAT look on her face. Too funny. 30 Years hey, you old thing ;) BTW I love your new avatar.
Deb, All too soon Neil will be back at home and under foot. What is it about absence making the heart grow stronger? Hugs hun. Sounds like your family have been around a fair bit to keep you company too, although not the same I know. Your a good girl going to the gym, wish I had enough ambition to get off my butt and get into one. LOL at Gab with the crayons too. I think they all like to eat them at this age.
Dinky, good to see you in here and feeling abit happier. Good to see that Tehya isn't the only one that doesn't sleep. Shocking isn't it. That bub is so tiny, I hope that she continues to grow big and healthy. LOL @ Hayley smacking herself in the head, would be beter if it were her hand though hey.
Tanya, I've been complaining how cold it is up here but can't even begin to think how cold it is down south. It's down to 0degrees tonight here. Violet sounds like Tehya being a chatterbox. I'm hearing you on the children talking, sometimes I wish they had a mute button.
SO we went and picked up our TV on Sunday afternoon and bring it home, open the box and it's nota flatscreen like they had told us :( It's pretty much the same as the one I already have in the loungeroom. Oh well, it cost us nothing. We did think about whacking it on Ebay and hopefully selling it but we know the minute we do that something will happen to the other one.
It is sick kid house up here. Tehya still seems to have her spewing bug, everynight she is vomiting, not sure why. She is also getting this flu that Joel has and Noah has got a touch of it too. Both the big boys are barking like dogs, Joel has been off school since last Thursday. Back tomorrow though, they finish up for the term on Friday.
Better go,Tehya is still roaming the house. Doesn't want to give in no matter how many attempts I make....
-
Urrgh @ the sickies again, Trish. Seems like you only get a couple of weeks off before one of them gets sick all over again.
Bugger about the TV not being a plat screen. That's not fair! Ah well... like you said, it was free!
-
Deb, once upon a time I had kids the rarely got sick, these days though.....Tehya was up spewing again last night and this morning so back to the Dr's. Have to get 2 stool samples to see if this virus is bacterial or not so we know what treatment if any is needed. Yummm Poo Scoopin I'm a goin' :)
-
hey ladies, just realised i have never been in here! hope all your march bubbas are doing well, declans a big lazy boy, now weighing just over 15kg and not walking yet. He's standing and could do it, by WHY when daddy's willing to carry me everywhere?! And he's still only got 4 teeth... not worried, he'll get there in the end... and he's a big brother now to Anneliese Bethany, born prem on 9/6/06.
-
Hey Simone, good to see you in here.WOW Declan is a big boy. Tehya is just over 9.8kgs I think still. She's a skinny mini :) Heck if I had someone willing to carry me everywhere I doubt I'd walk withere. I know a couple of girls who's bubs are the same age and are only just starting to walk too. Atleast you know Declan isn't the only bub who'd prefer not to walk too soon.
I hope that Anneliese is doing much better too and that she comes home to you very soon :)
-
Hi Simone! Welcome to the March 2005 thread. Congrats on the early arrival of Anneliese. Wow! Declan IS a big boy. Gab would probably be around 11kgs now (she was 10.3kgs at 14 months so, yeah, give or take).
Trish - oh dear @ the poo scoopin'! Hope it comes up with some answers tho so that Tehya can get fighting fit and no more sickies. Poor chook!
Had a good day today. Met up with some fellow Geelong cloth-nappy users (of course our lovely Fi-Fi was there!) which was good. Yet another thing that makes me sad about leaving Geelong :(
My sis and her BF came over for dinner (sausage casserole) but didn't stay for long because he was tired. I forget that when you work FT, you crash on the couch at 8pm, LOL.
It's fricken freezing out here!! Arrrrgh!
-
OMG... how dead is this thread???
Ok... didn't edit my last post cos, geeeez, it's almost been a week! Well... 5 days but that's pretty shocking for us!
Our floors were sanded back and polished in the lounge and kitchen on the weekend. They look soooo nice! So, hooray! My kitchen is finally complete... now we're selling the house!! Always the way.
We had to be out of the house most of the weekend because of the smell so we stayed at my sister's place on Saturday night and Paige's place on Sunday night (just Gabby and I because Neil went back to Hammo). Gab was such a good girl but I just didn't sleep very well because we were'nt home, iykwim? So it's good to be back!
I've just got to go to Bunnings and get felt thingys for the feet of the lounge suite and coffee table etc. then I can move all the furniture back in. Hooray!
What did everyone else get up to on the weekend?
How is the TTC going, Tanya?
How's the pregnancy going, Fi? Have you started a journal on here??
Have you got any more scrapping done, Trish?
Come on people! Get chattin'!!

Hi girls,
I am pathetic at posting but alot has been happening in my neck of the woods.
I am going back to work and putting Eliza in daycare for 3 days omg how brave am I lol. I checked out the centre today and am impressed with the staff the premises are brand new, position could be better but I should be happy that I actually could get a place. TTC has been put on the backburner mainly because my obst has advised not to lift anything and Eliza is in that so I need her to be alittle independant and becasue I was on Bedrest for 9 months with Eliza it seems ages since I worked. So "deep breathe" I am ready for it plus the other 2 days she will spend with Nanny and Gran!
I also started WW so I'm trying to be good I have lost 2 kilos this week so I must be doing something right.
Eliza is alot better after she had roseola..it is amazing how sick they can be and how quickly they get back to being into everything.
Better go and stop the child from screaming :(
Hope everyone is well

There was a time that it was soo hard to keep up in this thread now it goes for days without anyone posting and even then it's usually just you and I Deb. Oh well, I guess people are busy.
What a pain having to stay out of your house Deb, still it's done now. Shame it wasn't done when you were keeping the house hey :)
Nope, no more scrappin. No time, whinging kids. you know how it is.
Finally no more sick kids. Well they all still have their coughs but nothing too bad. I haven't called the Dr yet to get Tehya's test results though, but I'm thinking it was viral as she seems better now.
How is Gab going? I bet she loved spending the night with Paige, a little sleep over.
Fi, I hope that your feeling great and that bub is growing nicely. Are you planning on finding out bubs sex??? How is Jenna doing? Little Miss Smarty Pants :)
Bec, sounds like you've had a lot on your plate too. Glad to her that Eliza is better now. Yay on the 2 kg loss :) Not sure if it's supposed to be a yay or not on you going back to work though.
Tanya, how are you and your tribe going? Been getting any action lately ;) Hope that girls are doing great.
School holidays have started here and tonight Joel is spending an extra night at his dads and will go to work with him tomorrow. Brandon of course came home, he doesn't stay there unless he has too. I know that he wants to be here to play the computer though so I'm doing my best at keeping him off it
AF is in the house and making her presence felt, I can't belive how heavy I am since having Tehya. I was never like this with the other bubs. Oh well.
Mark went out to the footy yesterday, he left at 1pm and got home at 12am, must've beena very long game. Of course he was rolling drunk. He rarely goes out so I don't begrudge him. He is so funny when he's been drinking, sooo cannot handle it.
Better go and get sorted to watch the interview on BB
