Where is everybody?
Well, Emy got a second tooth, which I only discovered this morning when she thought it would be fun to bite my nipple. Not much fun.
She has also started to kind of be on the move - it wasn't quite a bum shuffle, definately not a crawl, but she moved forward a bit more than a metre this morning. It was very exciting for me!
But then she has also been very annoying today, and has been cracky all day long, and will absolutely not sit on her own - I have had to hold her all day long or she just cracks a nana at me. And God help me if I need to go to the toilet! I have seriously had enough of her today - I can't wait for Jason to get out of the shower so that he can take over for me...
Anyhoo, that's it from me.
love to all!
-
Hi ladies, hope everyone is well.
Jo, hope you enjoy QLD.
Caro, Cass, omg at over 9kg!!! Claire is still hovering around 6.7 - 6.8kg!
Ali, you snuck in and posted while I was writing, hehe! Yay on Emy getting another tooth. Hope she doesnt keep biting you. We have those clingy days too. Sometimes I have to put Claire in her pram or rocker in the bathroom while I'm in the shower so she can see me and she knows I havent abandoned her. How cute thats she is moving a bit! Is she sort of commando crawling?
A few days ago my mum came over to visit and brought over an orange which she cut up into peices to eat. She was sitting on the floor with Claire and Claire kept on reaching into the bowl of orange and grabbing peices and sucking on them. She absolutely demolished about half of the orange. It was so cute - she'd be holding one, then reach into the bowl to get another, then put it down in front of her and reach in for another. She loved it! She also had some mango which she loved as well. Such a mess though. She needed a bath afterwards. She loves her finger foods. I got the baby pasta the other day as well and she seemed to enjoy it as well. My mum laughed because apparently pasta was the only solid food I wanted to eat when I was a baby.
I had some breast issues today and it was so painful! Claire wouldnt go onto my right breast, and it ended up getting very full, very hard, lumpy and engorged. I was in SO much pain that I couldnt lie down and I had to take my bra off. I couldnt even express - nothing was coming out, not even if I massaged and got in the shower with the hot water. I ended up ringing my lactation consultant. She was with someone else, but she rang me back soon after and helped me. I did manage to express a bit and get Claire onto that breast, and it was like instant relief as soon as some of the pressue was relieved! Hope tht doesnt happen again.
I seem to have lost my Baby Bjorn. Where on earth could I have put it!?
ok well thats my news for the day!
-
Hi all have been MIA for a whle as I am just so tired, not sure why but my wonderful mum is coming in 6 days which will be so nice! Cairns was just gorgeous although I didn't get to do much but I'm not going to vent about my darling DH version of a holiday - short story is we all had a lovely time.
Ari is such a little chatterbox she has now perfected bub-bub-bub and manages to make such a gorgeous sounding sentence, I'm sure she thinks she is really communicating with us.
Jo - enjoy QLD!
Ali woohoo on another tooth. Hope she settles for you tomorrow. I found Ari was much happier once she could get around a bit more.
Karina - that's so cute about the orange! and Ouch on the breast! Pleased to hear you got it sorted out!
-
HEYLO! How is everyone sorry for being MIA - I needed a holiday after my holiday i think. And needed to get Izzy settled back into a routine. Which is finally happening, she's back to having dinner at 5.30 and SELF SETTLING (so proud) her self to sleep at 6.30ish.
Now questiong since i am already talking about sleep! Babies sleeping on their Tummies? Izzy has taken up to rolling over onto her tummy everynight! and for the last couple of nights i've got up 3-6 times a night to roll her back over, but at next check she is on her tummy again. Is this okay? Should i stop rolling her over? Help!
Agh i can't remember what everyone else said becuase i read the post half an hour ago then got up played with izzy now she playing on the carpet i thought i'd come back and write.
Sarah Townsville is beautiful. And i loved Crystal Creek! That was just gorgeous
Jo sorry i didnt get ur message untill today!!!
hope everyone else is well!!
-
Hey Cassie, yeah Claire will only sleep on her tummy. I am not worried about it as she is able to roll both ways, lift her head up and she always puts her head out to the side so she isnt face-planting or smothering her face, kwim? I think if Izzy is happy to be on her tummy and can roll and lift her head up well, then she's probably ok.
Sarah yay on having a lovely time away. How cute that Ari is chatting. I havent really heard any words from Claire yet although DH reckons she said booby a few weeks ago! I think booby is a bit complicated for an 8 month old to say though lol.
Glad to say my boob problems have not returned!
Hope everyone is well and having a lovely weekend. Finally it is sunny after raining all week here! Claire is sleeping but when she wakes I am going to take her outside so we can play on the grass.
-
So sad.... EMy has rejected me! I gave her booby at 9 this morning when we woke up, then some cereal stuff 30 minutes later, and then we went out. She didn't grizzle once while we were out, so I just offered her booby now when we have gotten home, and she didn't go anywhere near me! She kept twisting her body to get away from, so I went and got her a bottle of formula, and she has completely finished it! I think she is turning off me...
ANd she has been quite sick, with a rattley chest and a gross productive cough. Poor thing...and she still hasn't full gotten over the cold that she got last week...!
-
Ali - hope em is feeling better soon! Don't feel rejected, just keep persisting and she will come back.
Cass_blob - glad you likes townsville it is lovely although the humidity today and yesterday was just disguisting. Ari sleeps on her tummy all the time. Once they are able to manuvere themselves they should be fine. Make sure there aren't any pillows, toys or blankets that could get aaround her head and face though.
Karina - enjoy playing outside!
Well I am so proud! Ari said "mimi" today when I walked out of the room and "brewah" which apparently means booby. She was quite upset and kept calling out mimi and brewah and when I walked back in she clapped, clawled into my lap so I went to put her on the boob and she's said brewah and given my boob a pat and promptly went to sleep. So beautiful! Also she has these spots? mainly in her nappy area but a few on her legs and arms. They are like mossie bites with a pussy head? Heat rash? nappy rash Chicken pox? WDYT?
anyone heard from Cass, Rachel or Natty in a while?
-
OH k kewl! thanks. There is no toys/pillows in there. But i just overly worried!!!
Ally hope emy gets better
Karina you an clair have fun on the grass.
Sarah - oh thats sooo cute!
I'zzy can say 5 words now, which she just repeats over an over, she knows mum, dad, hello, bubba, izzy (yes she can really say it!) She holds her hands out and calls for mum and dad when we dont have her its sooooooooo cute!
Oh my poor little girl is a scaredy cat! we were laying on the floor and i was doing pic-a-boo in a nice calm voice, and was saying boo then i said aghh (still in hte same calm voice) and she screeched!!! cried and cried sooo not allowed to say aghh now. and this morning i forgot and she was laying beside us, and i went to stretch and said aghh she screamed again! that word is just not good!
-
Its a bit quiet here?
Well I'll ramble on then.
Sarah how cute that Ari is saying words! hmm not too sure about the spots.
Ali, Emy loves you! Hope she is feeling better.
Cass, wow on Izzy saying 5 words. Claire isnt saying any words yet but it sounds like she is trying!
ok well Claire is now 6.9 kg and she is finally getting a bit of chub on her legs. She has sort of gone off solids though.. today and yesterday she only hd one spoonful of food and then just booby for other meals. She wasnt even interested in finger foods. She is getting tall though and just HAS to stand up all the time. She isnt keen on sitting or laying down and she loves holding onto furniture to stand up. She's so funny.
Just heard some sad news from MIL earlier. They reckon that SIL has an ectopic pregnancy and she has to go into theatre tonight. We havent heard anything more from them but I might give MIL a call tomorrow to see how things are. Not sure what to say to SIL though?
I'm going to start seriously looking for part time work. We're getting a bit money tight at the moment and its probably going to get worse, so a little bit of extra income would be helpful. I dont want to go back to full time work though. I saw a job that looked great but its only full time so thats sucky. ah well maybe in a couple of years.
Well, thats been my week so far.
Hope everyone is well.
-
Hi everyone! Sorry haven't been around, have been busy busy but not really sure with what, lol.
Well....i have some very horrible news...AF has returned :(. Grace started to refuse the morning BF 6 days ago, and 5 days later I get AF, not happy. I thought it was coming but now that it's here i want it to go away. I joked with DH that we should have another baby so that i don't get AF again! i was most definitely joking for now. I'm assuming it's because it is the first one since having grace (or really since falling pregnant), but it is really really heavy, which is unusual for me. Did you unlucky ladies that have had AF return find it was heavy the first time?
Had CHN appointment today. Grace is now 8.6kgs! She has put on 1.6kgs in 2 months. She is 70.2cm long. Developmentally she is fine too. Although we did have a bit of a shock at today's appointment, the nurse noticed that her labia minora are fused...needless to say we were rather shocked as this had never been mentioned before (also needless to mention felt like an absolutely terrible mother for not having noticed before, not that you tend to go digging around in those regions), so i have been rather stressed today. Even though apparently it is rather common and easily fixed (in fact it normally resolves on it's own), it's not something i expected to hear at our 8 month check up, although i am almost positive it wasn't like that when she was born cause i remember that she had that discharge that new babies get, anyway, going to make an appointment with our GP to bring it to his attention and to see what we should do.
Anyway, Grace still has only the one tooth. The terrible nappy rash has resolved thank goodness. She is seriously working on crawling, She can get up on all fours, rocks back and fourth, and goes backwards but just can't quite co-ordinate going foward yet. She gets herself so frustrated to the point where she cracks it with herself and lies on the floor kicking and crying cause she can't do it, poor thing. I feel sorry for her but must admit it does make me chuckle a bit as she looks so cute, i am a horrid mum!
She had a photo taken with Santa on the weekend...practice run before the real one, amazingly she didn't cry! Very proud of her, she did try to steal his beard though! We have noticed that if we give Grace meat for dinner, she wakes at some ridiculous hour wanting to play, it sends her crazy! Hence, we will only be giving her meat at lunch time for now, i value my sleep too much.
Christmas count down is on, have no idea how we are going to afford it but i'm sure we will get there. \
Have spoken with all my managers at work and the hours and days i want to work have all been approved so that is good, starting back on January 28, 2 10 hour days shifts fitting around DHs roster (in the same job), so that is good as it means no need for child care.
Who has started swimming lessons? Really must book Grace in.
Anyway, take care everyone. Karina, sorry to hear about your SIL, hope it all works out. Night!
-
Hi ladies. What a lovely day it is today! Bit of a change from the rain we had yesterday.
I missed out on my mums group thing today as they went off to the beach but DH needed our car for work today and it would have taken about 2 hours to get to the beach on public transport. Its not tht far away, its just that there is no direct public transport and you have to swap ferries and buses and they dont connect all that well so you end up waiting in between. SO, I took Claire to the swimming pool today instead. She LOVED it! She was laughing, squealing, bouncing, waving her arms and smiling all the time. Must take her again soon and bring DH next time. He'd love to see her so excited! The pool is nearby, maybe 10-15 minute walk from home, so I just walked up there, and they have two baby pools and the big pools have shallow areas that you can sit in. Its a nice aquatic centre. I think they built it for the Olympics to do water polo or something. They do baby swimming lessons there, but I dont think I'll bother as you have to join for the entire term and I dont think I cuold commit to that. Anyway, it was heaps of fun and Claire thought it was a hoot.
ok thats all for now!
-
Hi all, wow what a week! I have organised my work for next year, 2 days a week teaching yr 7 and the other teacher I'm working with seems really nice. Sounds like we are all going to be going back about the same time. Ari is booked in to start daycare after the 7th of Jan so we can ease into it and to give me some time to get organised as per breastfeeding and planning for school. The nappy business is just going full on at the moment OMG. So pleased my mum is arriving on Saturday.
We have been trying to get down to the pool everyday to help DS with his muscle tone, now that he has finally overcome his problem with water. Ari loves the water, she puts herself under and can swim 3mtr under the water! We are all going out to the reef next month to go scuba/snorkling again but this time DS will be able to get in the water :-) I know it;s off topic but I am just so proud of the leaps and bounds DS has taken in the past few months since we have been seeking help with his "issues"
Oh and one of Ari's 3 surface teeth has finally broken though! At long last! She is working on how to go over edges and steps (ie we are doing lots of face planting) and thinks it's hilarious to let go of whatever she is holding on to and fall on her bum - must be all that cloth padding. She still has the dots on her bum but they have sort of scabbed up like teeny tiny chickenpox? but they are still only on her bum and legs?
Karina - that's awesome that Claire liked the pool and I have another "I want to stand" here too. I notice Ari went off her food for a couple of weeks and is only now starting to get back to normal. Hope your SIL is OK, as to what to say to her I'm sure you'll find the right words
Rachel - sorry to hear AF is back, she has been visiting me since ari was 7wks old (such a bummer) Sounds liek Grace is doing wonderfully. What a good girl for not crying at her first santa visit! I'm pretty sure Ari will loose it, she is very funny about people.
Caro - Hope all is going well with you and Michael will try and check out the website later
-
Sarah, woohoo for having work and day care sorted out for next year. You're very organsed! I called a whole bunch of daycare places in the last few days only to be told I'll be lucky to get in in the next 6-12 months.. and that was for the places that we've had our name down since last year for, making it at least an 18 month waiting list, but likely to be closer to two years... and the government reckons there isnt a shortage - blah! I hve found a local one with vacancies but they charge $100 per day and thats more than what we can afford, so no go for that one. Haha how cute about Ari falling on her bum. Claire does the standing up thing but she hasnt quite worked out how to sit back down again so she calls out for me when she needs help.
ok well it turned out that SIL had appendicitis and is 6 weeks pregnant. Appendix is out and baby is still in and they are both ok, but I think they told her there is a 40% chance of miscarriage due to the trauma of the appendix surgery.
Does anyone else find their bub is very wakeful at the moment? Claire waking up so often now. I'm feelng like I am awake 24 hours a day now?
-
Yep another wakeful baby here Karina, I am so tired it's scary. Off to bed right now though. My thoughts are with your SIL, fingers crossed all is OK
-
Yep - Emy is driving me bonkers! Absolutely will not go to sleep on her own - has been staying awake until 9-10pm, while I try to get her to go to sleep, and even then it is when i finallly give up from exhaustion, and lie down on the couch with her, and she falls asleep lying on my chest/stomach. But even then I have to wait until she deeply asleep to be able to put her in the cot or she wakes up again, and kind of flails her arms and legs about while i am putting her down like she is looking for a hand hold or something. She has also been waking up in the wee hours of the morning, and again not going back to sleep. I have tried going in to her quickly, and trying to get the dummy in (she used to just turn her head and go back to sleep after the dummy was in), but she won't have a bar of it. Have tried standing there, dummy in, patting her and ssshhh-ing, but once she sees me she just cries louder and stronger. The only thing that will get her back to sleep is to pick her up and give her a cuddle, and wait till she is deep asleep again before I put her back down. It is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooo exhausting! I don't think I was this tired when she was new born... I'm putting it down to a combination of having a cold and getting teeth - but I wish it would pass! She used to go to bed at 7ish, put herself to sleep, sleep all the way through, and then wake up at 8ish. I want those days back again!
Rachel - bummer about Af returning... Because I have cut back my BFing to 2 in the morning, I'm expecting to get mine any time soon, but I really don't want it! I was kind of wanting it, because we were thinking of TTC again soon, but then the other day I saw the GP, and he said to lose 10-15 kg before I do or I am risking way too many things (diabetes, renal failure, stroke etc) if I gain preggie weight on top of the weight I already have. So now I have decided that one Emy is fully weaned (and if she keeps up the biting it will be soon! She drew blood the other day! BIg meanie bully...), then I am going to do the Tony Ferguson thing. I have tried to lose weight before on my own, and it is just impossible, so I need something to help me, and Tony is the guy for me!
Need my morning coffee now...
Love to you all!
-
Hey - new photo's on my photobucket!
And hopefully tonight will put new photo's up off our new car (well 2nd hand but new to us) :)
-
aww Cassie the new pics of Izzy are so cute. She looks like she loves swimming.
ok well I just uploaded a whole lot of new photos of Claire! She's looking more and more like DH every day!
ALi, Claire has nights like that too. Its frustrating! Claire slept alright last night though. I think she slept for about 3 hours continuously, which is pretty good for her! Our record is about 4 hours. Usualy she wakes every two or so hours and goes back to sleep straight away if I come to her with boobie.
I've just applied for a job today. Hopefully they will call me back during the week. Its for a casual receptionist in the evenings at a GP clinic nearby. The job ad didnt have lots of information in it, not even a phone number, but from the sounds of it and after some research I am pretty sure it is a brand new after hours GP clinic attached to the local public hospital but independent from it and not actually run by the hospital. It took me sooo long to write my resume, so I really hope they at least call me!
Argh DH out all day again today. So its just me and Claire today. She is having a sleep now so I've got some Karina time now.
-
Hi everyone, sounds like you've all been busy with TEETH! LOL
Ali, S rejected me a few days ago and I wondered whether he was weaning himself, but then I got AF the next day, so that'll be why. Maybe this could be a reason for you? That reminds me I might go and chat to our GP about TTC too. I finish this repeat of the pill in a few days and I'm considering not getting the next script filled. We wanted to start trying at the beginning of the year anyway... but I want to have a breast exam (well, "want" is probably too strong a word!) I mean, I should probably have one.
Karina did you find your baby bjorn? Your poor SIL having all that pain, fingers crossed for the baby, hope everything is OK now the appendix is out. Good luck for the job!
Sarah, good luck for your job, 2 days sounds like a good idea. I got a call on Friday from a teacher I've done relief for - she's taking next year off and wanted to know if I wanted her job for the year. It's quite tempting but it's a long way to drive everyday, so M and I talked for ages about it, and I'm going to call her and say that I can work two days and that's it, otherwise fuel plus daycare is too much (and I just don't want to spend all that time away from Sebastian!)
Cass, wow, I can't believe how many words Izzy can say, S says lots of sounds but no real words as yet. I scared him too recently, something was funny on the TV and I laughed really loud and he just looked at me like this: :( and burst into tears! Obviously he didn't find it funny!
Caro, checked out your website, Michael is a cutie, glad he enjoyed his christening. Have you settled in to your new place? Hope you get some good results back from your tests soon.
Rachel, I laugh at Sebastian too heh heh, I'm a meanie as well. He's rocking on his hands and knees, and rolling everywhere still.
We borrowed a Jolly Jumper from a friend, put him in it today because I was concerned he wasn't really trying to push down on his legs, and he's so heavy (8.3kg when we went for 8 mth check) I find it hard to hold him up to encourage him to do it. After a while where he looked a little concerned, he really got into it! So am going to try and get him into it everyday for a while. He exercises his legs and really pushes himself about, so fingers crossed it will help a bit.
Settlement for the house is 17th Dec, but I rang the settlement agent and asked if we could have it before the weekend (14th Dec); she said the sellers want to get it done asap so hopefully things will work well. I can't wait.
I'm trying to finish my NaNoWriMo and I'm so behind! Google it if you haven't heard of it, basically you commit to writing a novel in the month of November. Crazy, yes, but hey.
Well, it's 9.30 so I guess I'd better start thinking about bed as S will be up at 5 tomorrow (yawn!) Maybe I can convince DH to get up with him and I can have a sleep in...
-
Hey all~ got photo oh our new car! Its a FORD!!!
But it is going back to the people on Wednesday to get roadworthedy! They have let us drove of with kids in the car in an unroadworthy car! i am soooo pist off! Going in there on monday to rev them up! takin it to my mechanic today to get him to look over it and do a proper inspection! i can't believe they have botched it up! And i have no idea what i should be doing? ? ? <... advice needed please!
its been a really long day so going to bed now night all` will fill you more in later. sorry for not doing personals!
-
Hi all
Cass - OMG about the car. Hope you can get it sorted out and it doesn't end up costing more
Sasha - good to hear from you! Hope you can get a place a bit closer yo home for you. I'm a bit peeved as I am actually employeed at a school around the corner but rather than find someone to job share with me they would prefer I slip into this pre-existing one 20 min away
-
Argh did a quick post last night but it hasn't shown up, can't even remeber what I wrote. grrr. I'm so frustrated at the moment AF is over a week late? did a HPt and was a resounding negative so I guess I just have to wait. Typical, i finally start taking notice of when she is due and she doesn't show up on time. Ari can now say dada (xander) dadee (daddy) and generally just babbles on in her own little language which is incrediably cute.
Karina - oh good luck with the job!!!! Have you heard anything yet? Are you still thinking of doing uni next year?
-
Sarah, thanks for the luck! I havent heard bck about the job. I told my mum about the job and she said she knows the guy who is the manager there, and she said he often takes a really long time to call people back about anything. I am going to call him on friday if I havent heard back by then. My mum seems to know everyone - its really quite scary. I would still like to do uni next year but I had to do STAT to apply for uni (my TER is too old and too low for entry into uni) and I did spectacularly crap in it so I dont think I will get in! If I dont get in, I found a TAFE course that I am considering applying for. How cute how Ari is saying dadee and dada. Is she saying mumma? Claire is just babbling in her own language, no actual words yet, but she knows her own name and responds to it. She just blows raspberries at me when I try to teach her how to say mum!
Cass, how crappy about the car! That is surely illegal - they cant sell you a car telling you its roadworthy when it isnt! Have you taken it back and told them off? Did you buy it from a dealership or privately? Argh thats just disgusting of them. Cant believe they let you drive off with three kids in the car knowing full well there were problems with it! If you get no joy from them maybe you can call Fair Trading and see what they say?
Bec, good to hear from you! I still cant find my Baby bjorn. I think I must have dropped it while I was in the shopping centre or something. I called the lost property there but they said it wasnt handed in. oh well! Woohoo only a few more weeks till your settlement! hopefully they can make it earlier for you - it would be nice to be in and settled and unpacked by Xmas. Good luck with your NaNoWriMo - I soooo wouldnt be able to do that. I am way to disorganised! SIL is ok - back home now but still in pain. Turns out there was some issue with the appendix and they werent able to take it out without damaging her bowel so they left it in and have decided to treat her with antibiotics instead. Hopefully she'll be ok, and her bub is going to be ok too, she is about 7 weeks pregnant.
Well I am sitting here absolutely melting! Cant believe how hot it is today. The weather forecast says its going to rain tomorrow which is a bit of a bummer as our Mums Group were planning on taking our bubs to the Aquarium. Not the best day to be getting on a ferry and going to the aquarium! So I'm hoping the rain stays away.
I went for a lovely swim again yesterday with Claire and we had so much fun. She thought the pool was very funny, and she enjoyed the wave pool and the fountains. For some reason she couldnt stop looking and smiling at the very serious looking lifeguard! I must have worn her out because she fell asleep in the stroller while I was walking back home. Its only about 10-15 minutes walk from home. Then she slept for 2 hours when we got home! I think I might take her again on the weekend and I'll get DH to come as well.
Well thats my week so far. Not very interesting but I not a very interesting person!
Hope everyone is well.
-
OMG - I am sooo sick of dealing with these people~ i am ready to just rip the contract up and give them the car back!!! We took it in to them today along with the list from my mechanic about what was wrong with the car~ telling them we want it ALL fixed and all roadworthy or we will get our lawyers involved!
They agreed told us they will give us a loan car while ours is getting fixed and will ring us when the our car leaves to go to the mechanic, they will get the mechanic to call us, and they will keep us informed through out the day.
Before they let us in the loan car they made me sign a form to say it wasn't insured and they are not at all responible for insuring this vehicle. I did this not thinking!
I've drove home in the loan car and got onto my insurance people straight away - to try get insurance for me driving the car around. They wouldn't do this as it wasn't my car and was absoultly GOBSMACKED that GCL would give us a car without insurance! my insurance gave me the number of the insurance mob that looks after all the insurance companies, i called them and they were actually GOBSMACKED that they didn't give me insurance on the car. they said that making me sign this was completely illegal and if there was an accident my fault or not i am not at all responsible for any damages that might occur.
We have not heard from the GCL>all day like they originally planned - we have had to call them - which we got told they have no idea when the car will be back. and we just called again and they still don't know~! I am getting very very peeeeved off! This is not a proper practice!
Well enough about that! Getting my self all worked up again!
ON a better note~ Izzy is trying her hardest to call - she can get up on her hands an knees move her knee forward once, then tobbles over! she's getting so frustrated! but its quite cute watching her try~ And she's putting her self to sleep again! for the past 2 weeks I just put her to bed for her morning/afternoon nap and night time sleep and she goes to sleep all by her self!~!~!~ so proud! !!
Hope everyone is doing well. really must goo, she's banging the walls in her cot talking to her self!
-
Hi everyone,
Just a quick check-in.
Em had her 6mth needles on tuesday (late i know but due to the gastro last month) and has had a low grade temp since - the last two nights she has slept in our bed as i was so worried about her. She finally has one tooth!!!
I read in here that some of your babies are having restless nights???? Please tell me this is true!?? Em has been waking nearly every two hours through the night i think since late last month - driving me absolutly insane!!! Im sure im getting about 5 hours sleep each night - hoping its just the teeth......hoping!
I have a few people from my old work coming over saturday night so i really need to go and do a complete clean of the house change spear beds etc. but i dont want to do anything until tomorrow so its freshly clean - looks like my DD and DP mess everything when they walk in the front door!! but my mums having Em for the night for the first time, she cant wait!! Im not too sure!
-
Oooh, i forgot to add - i cant believe some of the babies are talking!! Very smart little bubbas. Em only says, dadda, nan, and alot of babble - everytime i say mum, mum, mum to her she says DAD, DADDA very loud. (little teaser!!)
-
Cass, what BS about them not insuring your courtesy car! Sorry to hear you are experiencing such crap with the car mob. They sound like a-holes and I bet you wont be going anywhere near them again. Tell every one you know they suck! We had big issues with our car as well when we first got it - after not even a week the car was totally undriveable and it took like 3 months, several visits and many many phone calls to get them to fix it, and in the end they said they couldnt do it because the 3-month warranty was up. I was gobsmacked as we'd been taking the car in for 3 months and they just kept telling us there was nothng wrong then they conveniently diagnosed the fault once the statutory warranty was up. Anyway, they fixed it (i'd have taken them to Fair Trading if they hadnt) and implied they were doing us a favour - wtf?? Just be persistant. Dont back down. Make them fix it. If you bought from a dealer I'm pretty sure the law is that the car MUST be roadworthy and if its not you have every right to go back to them and demand they fix it and make it roadworthy.
Aww I am sure Izzy will crawl soon. Claire was also getting up on her hnds nd knees for little bit too before she crawlled. I think she did that for a couple of weeks and now she is crawling everywhere - unstoppable! Woohoo for falling aasleep on her own. Its great when Claire does that!
Aww Shell hope Emilys temp goes down. Poor little thing. Claire was sick just before her 6 month vax too. Yep, Claire is wakeful at night too. She always has woken every 2-3 hours, but for some reason lately she's doing it more some nights - like every half an hour! Its exhausting isnt it! Argh, I hate cleaning my house. My carpet urgently needs vacuuming but it just gets filthy as soon as DH comes home so I put it off till the next day. My mum LOVES looking fter Claire. She has only baby sat a couple of times but she loved it. The first time, was when DH and I went out for dinner for his bday and I soent half the time hoping she wasnt hungry and that I had left enough milk for her and hoping she wasnt driving my mum crazy with her crying and so on. Normal mummy worries!
Well its crappy rainy weather again today. I was hoping for a good day so we could go play outside. Its so boring inside! Ah well maybe tomorrow.

Hi all popping n to say hi
Cass- I can't believe what bad luck you are having with that car place
Karina - did you get to the aquairum?
Shell- yes Ari's sleeping has been more rotten lately thn ever. She used to settle down eventually and do about 6hr stretch but recently she has been awake and wanting feed every 2hrs or so. Hoping it passes soon to
Another call out - has anyone seen the other Cass??? Ozzyhoffy?
-
Sarah no I didnt go to the aquarium. They ended up going somewhere else but I hardly go to Mothers Group because its at 10:30 and Claire goes down for a nap around 10 until around 11:30, so its just not a good time and I dont like to wake her up as she goes a little feral. Hope Ari starts sleeping better again soon.
I have seen Cass post in other threads, i think a few days ago or maybe last week.
Cass do we smell or something? Come back to us :)

-
Hi all! Savina, great to hear from you. You must be exhausted you poor thing. Wow on walking around the furniture, sounds tiring!
Grace is good, she has been really trying to crawl. She has the commando crawl sorted when she wants to but still hasn't quite coordinated the other way yet. She too gets so frustrated. I think she is going to have a fear of shopping centres when she is older we seem to be down there so much trying to organise christmas presents! i am so shopped out and i haven't even finished yet!
anyway, should go to bed, just wanted to say hi.
-
Savina good to hear from you! I wondered where you had disappeared to. Sounds Like Taylen is doing really well. yay!!
Rachel, i totally hate Xmas shopping! We've done about half of ours. Sigh. Yay for commando crawling! Claire did that before proper crawling too.
Just went to my friends party - she was celebrating that she has finished her masters at uni. It was nice to see everyone from School again. I havent seen anyone since before I was pregnant. They all commented on how cute Claire is. I must say, I do agree. March babies aare just beautiful!
-
Oh my you lot can talk!! I'm in and out every now and then. Really got over turning the computer on and getting part way through something before his lordship wants mum...lol. So, I've only been popping on once or twice a week. By the time I get here he's wanting me and I don't have half a chance to read much. Sounds like everyone is doing really well!!
Sarah... I'm here, just text me I answer them faster...lol.
Ummmm... let's see. Ok, Oskar is soooo happy to just sit on the floor, can't be bothered trying to crawl or anything. He's just getting his first tooth... I can see it getting ready to pop out and he's been off his food a bit the past week. Other than that, not a lot happening, just getting things ready for chrissy. I've decided to make my own cards this year and I'm making a cross stitch thing for our friends who are having a little girl around christmas time. So, busy with that but only after Oskar goes to bed at night. He's currently sitting outside on the grass watching a bird play on the ground. So cute...hehe. Dad is out there too so it's ok!! He's talking to the bird...lol. I can't believe my little man will be 8 months old tomorrow... *sighs*.
Sorry for not doing personals, too much going on for me to remember.
Cass, hope you get the car sorted.
-
Isn't it hard to believe that this time last year we were all waddling around complaining about Christmas shopping and being pg :-( I'm a bit sad as DH is going to see the dr about the vesectomy tomorrow. Oh and AF finally showed up 2 wks late at the markets of all place OMG
Anyway Ari has both bottom teeth through now and is sleeping slightly better (by Ariya standards anyway) She has started letting go while standing up and is gaining her balance fast (far too fast :-(
Savina - great to hear from you! Sounds like taylan is doing wonderfully
Cass- hey great to hear from you. I have been trying to get onto you but your number is on DH's phone and he left it at friends place last week and we have been too lazy to go over and get it :-)
Karina - I know what you mena about mother's group being at an awkward time. Ariya normally falls asleep in the car on the way to things around 9:30 and then wakes up as soon as we get out of the car grrrr
Rachel - oh look out Grace is going to be on the move soon!
hope I didn't miss anyone
-
OSKAR GOT HIS FIRST TOOTH!!... lol... exactly at 8 months. Awww my little boy is growing up!!
Sarah... bummer about AF and OMG @ vasectomy!! I didn't realise you guys were travelling down that road :( OUCHIES and I'd rather him me...pmsl.... ahhh dear.
Anyway, was just a quickie to tell about Oskar's tooth. n kisses to all.
-
So excited, just bought myself a few new nappies! (from Sarah of course!) With the warm weather I can get the clothies dry in no time and it's saving us loads of money. Which is good because when we move into our new place things are going to be tight!
Yay for Oskar's new tooth! I love how they are starting to interact with the world around them. Sebastian is enamoured with the pets, and today I tried to show him a caterpillar but he just wanted to grab it so perhaps we should stick with big animals for now!
Sarah, AF still hasn't showed up for me although I'm now fairly sure I'm not pg. Kind of a relief actually since we want to have another but I think it may be just a little bit too soon. Around 20 months I think would be good. I may have to talk my DH into a vasectomy later on as well... years upon years of taking the pill just doesn't appeal.
Karina, I'm so with you - all our babies are lovely. There was a baby stolen from the maternity hospital near our house today (don't worry, they got her back safe and sound! Phew!) and when S and I went out in the pram, two different women stopped us to look at him and say how lovely he is, and tell me that they'd found the kidnapped baby!
Rachel, I haven't even ventured into the shops yet. I'm hoping to get some of the stuff online. I'm buying presents through Oxfam for my sister and BIL since they're going overseas and don't need the extra stuff to take - you know, how you can pay for something for a village or a school and then my sister will get a card saying "Bec bought a goat for a family in xxx on your behalf" Does that make any sense at all? Hope you know what I mean.
Shell, S is big on DADADA as well. You know the only time he says "Mama"? When he's in bed and wakes up crying and upset! Typical!
Cass_blob - wow, what is going on with the car! What a drama! Hope you've got your original one back and it's fixed up properly. I can't understand how people can live with themselves, doing business like that.
Not much news here. S seems to be having some trouble with his second front tooth, it's bothering him a bit more than the others, but it's coming through OK. He really wants to crawl but is finding that he can also get places - fast! - by rolling, so does that most of the time. I'm trying to pack stuff up slowly as we're moving in two weeks' time! Eeek! And my "novel" is supposed to be finished tomorrow, but I don't think I'll make it! I've got to 30 000 words and it's supposed to be 50 000 and I can't see me doing that much in a day - not with a 9 month old and a 32 year old to take care of!!
-
Cass yay on Oskars tooth! He's not a gummy bear anymore.
Sarah good to hear Ari is sleeping a bit better. Wow on trying to balance on her own! Claire tries to let go but then she falls on her bum.
Bec, you will get so addicted to MCNs! I think its time for me to buy some more too. The ones I have are getting a tad small for Claires bum! What did you get? OMG on the kidnapped baby - glad they found him/her though. Good luck with your novel. Give yourself an extra week or two to finish it! Hope your packing up and moving is not too painful.
I have almost finished all my Christmas shopping - online shopping is great! I tried to go to the shopping centre the other day but Claire wasnt impressed. I ended up having to go into Woolies and getting a trolley because she just wanted to stand up and refused to sit in the pram without screaming. People were looking at me with their disapproving looks! Woolies has these cool trolleys with a little section at the front the perfect size for Claire to stand in. She loved it.
Anyway, I bought some pressies for Claire cousins (boys 2 and 4 y o) and posted them up to Brissie today so they can put them under the tree for at least a couple of weeks. I packed them with bubble wrap but I hope they dont get trashed in the post. The guy in the shop has four boys so he was able to give me some recommendations on stuff boys like! We've had to stack all the other Xmas pressie up high on top of a shelf otherwise Claire will try to eat them. I cant believe the stuff she tries to put in her mouth!
Anyone elses baby very fussy with food at the moment? I cant get Claire to have anything other than custard. I dont really think its appropriate for EVERY meal though. She just purses her lips and turns away if its any other food. What foods do your babies love so I can steal your ideas and try them? :)

Hi all,
Em's temp went down then she had a heat rash all over her but thats gone too now, thank god!!
Em is still waking through the night :( from 12.30am then evry two hours until 6.30 -7am. She isnt waking for food though, just dummy her teddy and to be tucked in , this isnt crying, she wakes and starts blabbling to herself or yelling out - anyone have ANY ideas on how i can stop this???? Its driving me nuts, most nights i can get straigt back to sleep but some im awake for ages which makes the next day hard to get through. I would let her blabble herself back to sleep but i know she'll wake DD up and i dont want that. Im really hoping its the tooth (only ha;lf way up) but im worried that even after the tooth comes it will still happen....please :help:
Karina - I have had heaps of probs with Emily eating her veges off the spoon, i now make it into a vege patty and feed it her her by my hand her hers. Em also eats alot of yoghurt and mashed fruit, baked beans and chicken.
-
I took some photos of Emily which im going to have blown up and framed for the Grandparents for christmas, they're very cute!! I have put a couple in the gallery.

Hi! How is everyone? We are doing well. I noticed today that Grace's second front tooth is coming through...her gum was split and white so hopefully not too long (and hopefully she doesn't notice!). Today Grace crawled about a metre (proper crawling) and then dropped to a commando crawl...she looked so cute doing it. She also did it again tonight. Probably won't be long now....oh dear! Grace's latest thing is clapping...I showed her how to clap the other day and now she does it all the time..it's very cute to watch. She also likes to wave at people and hand whatever she is holding to other people...toys or food doesn't matter! The only words she says are muma and dada and buba. I am positive she doesn't really relate them to anything though. All the mums from mums group are going out for dinner tomorrow night...no babies. Should be so good, looking forward to it. Gonna dress up a bit just because I can.
Shell...eewww on the waking overnight,. Can't offer any suggestions i'm afraid but i hope you get some good sleep soon.
Karina...don't know about the food fussiness. Grace is gobbling down anything I give her at the moment. Grace loves pasta...i often make a sauce with tinned tomotoes, diced onion, grated vegies and let it simmer for a while (throw in some herbs sometimes) and she loves that. She also loves tuna mornay and rissotto and last night i made a chicken and sweetcorn cannelloni and before i added the egg and ricotta i put some of the stuffing aside and added pasta sauce from the bottle and she loved that tonight just mixed through some pasta. She loves mashed potato with broccolli and roasted capsicum...I should stop now otherwise i will go on all night...what can i say grace loves her food! I am embracing it while it lasts! Hope you get some joy soon.
Bec...understand what you are saying. OMG did you have a pregnancy scare? One of the girls in mum's group thinks she may be pregnant again...that would be stressful! Grace was the same with rolling cause she can do it so fast, but now she has mastered the commando crawl so she does that alot now too..one step at a time huh!
Sarah..yep, she sure will be moving, then i'll be busy i'm sure. Yep, how different this christmas will be to last time.
Cass...it's scary how fast they are growing up isn't it.
Anyway, just wanted to say hi. Have a great weekend girls.
-
Hi all, hope you're going to have a great weekend! I intend to spend a little time in the garden, cleaning it up ready for the move.
Rachel, cool that Grace is clapping! Sebastian loves other people to clap but can't do it himself. Although he does sit there and slap his legs when he's excited or happy. It's funny! Yes, I was a bit concerned I was pregnant, although M would have been happy! I've feeling a bit PMT tonight so hopefully that's a good sign :D Never thought I'd be saying that LOL Of course if we did get pg now it would be great, just a bit sooner than we'd planned but I'm sure we'd get through.
Karina, I'm already addicted to the MCN! I bought some more BG Pocket, another Pocket Change and some Haute Pockets. We have all of those already, and they seem to be the best fit for S. I got some Gadimal breathable but they don't seem to fit so well around his belly - either they're too tight and seem to be uncomfortable, or too loose and they leak! Maybe when he gets a bit fatter! Also the BBH Magic-Alls are quite good, for day only, not night. They seem to fluff up really well!
Shell, I hear you - last night I went to bed late (11pm) and S woke at 1, 2:50 and 4:45 - we get up at 5. It was never going to be a good night's sleep but it ended up being a lot worse than I'd bargained for! It does make the day hard, especially when you have your other DD to look after. I know she probably thinks she's all grown up, but they still need taking care of at that age don't they?!
Well, we had KFC for lunch and I'm regretting it so about to make a huge fruit salad for dinner :) and have an early night! I think S is finally asleep (yay) so maybe I can crawl into bed without him waking!
