SArah, wow I havent had any bleeding or period yet, but I dont want to dtd with "protection" just in case things are starting back up kwim? I'm sure the "oops forgot the condom" thing happens lots. I hope whatever happens is what you want. wow thats pretty amazing you havent had to buy morenappies. We only bought about 200 nappies when I was pregnant as hubby wouldnt allow me to buy more lol! but i also got a box of Woolworth brand newborn nappies and they are still too damn big for Claires bum, wtf?

Jomarie, i hope the Losec works for your little man. its so sad to see them so upset isnt it.

Cass_blob, I am the same as you now... at first I wanted to go back to work part time in August, but now I am really rethinking it, coz my parents work so she will need to go in to childcare.. but I want to see her grow and change everyday and see her walk and talk etc for the first time. I dont know what to do lol! aww how cute is izzy when she smiles!!

Claire has been doing this thing constantly - she sucks on her fist (its amazing how much of it can fit in her mouth lol). I dont know if its a comfort thing or if she is telling me she is hungry? She does it like all the time when awake, but when i try to get her on my breast she pushes away? Am I not feeding her enough, or does she just not like me? what do you think?

Went shopping yesterday and got some more nappies, more newborn size cos theyre the only ones in the big boxes! Anyway, it was meant to be on special for $29 from $36 for the box but when they scanned it, it came up as $18. Bargain!

Karina, what sort of nappies and where from?? Oskar does the fist thing sometimes, but it is more when he wakes after his long sleep and the one after that. Then he doesn't seem to do it so much, so for him I think it's when he is hungry and if he's really tired he kinda fusses and sucks the side of his finger a bit cos he can't find the rest...lol. If Claire's pushing you away I'd say she isn't hungry. She might just like how it feels?? Or maybe she's going to be a thumb sucker?? It may be a little bit of security instead of your boob or dummy.

Cass, I bought my latest lot of nappies from Coles.. Babylove brand. thanks, i thought the fist sucking thing may have been a comfort thing too. I tried a dummy one night when I was about to go crazy but she wouldnt have it! so she probably will end up sucking her thumb.

Savina, Claire is still tiny, still in 0000 clothes! We just got given a whole bunch of 000 and 00 clothes for her but theyre still too big. Claire loves her mobile! She smiles at it - so funny! lol Claire is a little stinker too sometimes - must be something I ate?

Karina K is sucking his fist big time.. I think its just a comfort thing, i dont give him the dummy that much as he wont really take it, he jsut spits it out.

DTD lastnight.. Ouch but after that it was just fine, actually must say was awesome. Looking forward to DTD again. Friday night is our 5th Year wedding anniversary so we are having a romantic night in.

Kaiden is sleeping a bout 10 hours during the night and feeding every 2.5hrs during the day. lets hope he stays at good boy for us. He still spews everytime we feed him, i really wish that would stop.

K has so many clothes, still in 0000 but starting to fit into some 000. Still in newborn nappies, finishing off the last box then will move to the infants..

DH just got home.. must go..

Karina, Oskar hated the dummy at first but one day I just held it in there cos I needed to go to the shops for some things and he took it... so I do use it if I put him in the HAB to settle him off to sleep and sometimes if I'm out and need to tie him over to feed him or in the car if he's screaming it down...lol...which he does cos he doesn't really like being in the back on his own I think. Cos if you hop in there with him he's a lot better.

I took Oskar to get weighed today and he's my little porky pig...lol. He's now 4550 grams, a whole kg in 3 wks and is 3.5cm longer. He's still in 0000 although won't be for much longer and also still in newborn nappies. I think he can fit in the odd 000 but only smaller ones. I hate how the sizes are not all the same between brands and can be a HUGE difference too, not just small.

Sarah, for some reason my email keeps bouncing back to me saying you don't exist. I will try to send it from my hotmail one, but in the meantime would you send me your addy to the bigpond email you sent the last email to?? Thanks hun.

Ha ha, grace can be a stinker too. Gosh she can do some loud farts, I really have to stop doing this but when she farts it makes me laugh, it’s sounds so funny such a loud noise out of such a cute little bottom! I have a wacky sense of humour.

Karina, Grace sucks her thumb and fist all the time, she just loves to suck on things. Funny you should ask about the rocker, up until 3 days ago she did sleep in her rocker, but in the last 3 days she is not happy in it at all. She starts crying as soon as we put her in, don’t know why. We have started putting her into her cot earlier in the evening now so maybe that has something to do with it. Yay on the weight gain, she would feel huge compared to birth for you, but she would be so little for me as my not-so-little girl is now 5.3kgs! I feel it now when carrying her around.

I will second Cass on how great the hab is. I have a navy blue and red one. I got it online from anewblessing dot com dot au.

JoMarie, hope the losec kicks in soon for the both of you, must be very tiring.

Happy Anniversary Cass. Hope you have had a nice day. You will have nice warm feed this winter huh, sounds sweet. I dress Grace up in her clothes if we are doing something or someone is coming over, but if we are just mucking around at home for the day I tend to leave her in her wondersuit.

Sarah, glad you had some nice time off with your DH. Oh dear…I am so finicky about contraception at the moment because I do NOT want to get pregnant again yet. I absolutely adore Grace but happy to just adore her now. I hope it wasn’t AF for your sake! We use sposies at night too, We had to change some newborn packs over as Grace grew out of them too quick. Because it was hot down here when I was going crazy and buying lots of neutral clothes for Grace as we didn’t know if she was a she or a he, I got too many summer 000 clothes which she won’t wear as it is too cold down here! I am keeping them though, for next time, just in case otherwise I would offer them to you. How cute at talking to the bear.

Cass_blob, are you over you cold? I’m not going back to work until the end of January (unless I need to for financial reasons) but it is going to be hard. Hard because I love my job and I do miss it to a certain point, but the biggest reason is the same reason as you. I don’t want to miss anything, I love being around her. Grace has way too many clothes that don’t fit her yet! Will be great when she gets into those sizes but at the moment don’t have room to store them all.

Savina, wow 6.18kgs! That seems big but when I put it in perspective it seems alright as Taylen was almost a kg bigger than Grace at birth. How quickly they grow. Now that must be hard, raising 4 kids and living with your in-laws. No wonder you couldn’t relax, I wouldn’t be able to either.

Well, I think I have covered everyone. Apologies if I have missed anyone. We are doing well. Grace is 2 months today! Where has the time gone? She is sleeping really well overnight, last night she fed at 7.30pm then didn’t wake again until 4.30am, I was one very happy mummy. She is not sleeping well in the daytime though, so by mid afternoon she is exhausted and gets quite grizzly. My mum suggested that I wrap her and put her in her cot to see if that helps as she gets wrapped overnight, what do you think? Feeding has improved, not fussing as much now which is great. Expressing is getting better too. Have managed to get 120mls in 10 minutes, out of just one breast, the last 2 mornings. Have taken to doing it in the morning as that is when I am fuller due to the longer break between feeds. My parents are babysitting on Saturday evening so DH and I can go out for dinner and have some ‘us’ time so working on the EBM so she can be fed. Need to get her immunized this week, thinking Friday as DH will be home all day and night so if she is a bit grizzly and feverish afterwards at least I don’t have to do it on my own.

Is everyone looking forward to Sunday? For most of us it will be our first ever mummy’s day!I know DH is organizing something for me as obviously Grace is too little, but it will be so exciting when she gets older. What is everyone doing?

Start mother’s group on Thursday which will be good. We are supposed to bring a plate of food, should I take something sweet or savoury? I’m thinking sweet. Looking forward to it actually as I don’t really know too many people with kids, let alone people with kids in the area.

Grace hates being on her tummy. Is anyone else like this? She screams, she has the strength in her arms and neck so that isn’t the problem but she just does not like it at all, very strange. We had a bath together the other night, it was great, she smiled and cooed the whole way through it, can’t wait to do it again.

Well….I hope everyone is ok and starting to relax and enjoy motherhood, it seems to get easier and easier everyday, although have to say that it still seems weird that I am a mother! Everyone take care.

Rachel, Claire gets cranky when I place her on her tummy. Makes tummy time tricky as she makes fists and starts crying and bashing at the floor. hmmm tricky about the plate thing - whenever I go somewhere people tend to bring something sweet, so in my case I would bring something savory. Or maybe a salad? My hubby makes this really tasty salad called Caprese. Really easy to make. Wow thats great how Grace is sleeping through the night. and wow at how much you can express! My expressing efforts are quite lame in comparison, lol, even when my boobs are about the explode. Hope Grace isnt too cranky after her needles. Claire slept for like 3 hours after hers. Claire sometimes loves the rocker but other times hates it. I guess she just has to be in the mood for it. She is definately feeling very heavy now, and I am feeling it more now because I have managed to hurt my shoulder some how.

Caro, yay for september. That is when our anniversary is too.

Cass, we find Claire likes someone to sit with her in the back too sometimes. but usually just falls asleep quickly. I tink she likes the company. I am abit funny about using a dummy. I think theyre yukky.. dont know why!

well Little miss is now sleeping... she was so happy and settled and having some booby, then hubby came home about 10:30 and she got distracted and cranky! I gave her one of my first baths on my own this afternoon - usually hubby is here to help me. She smiled at me the whole time! So cute. Went out to the photo place and got a whole bunch of photos printed out. My dad wants to see Claire.. but I am not so keen on seeing him right now (I am not really in contact with him - long story) so I am just going to post a photo to him so he stops asking my mum about us.

Hmmm, good point about the sweet v savoury thing. Maybe I could do a platter with cheese and biscuits, tomato, carrot and celery? Something a bit healthier also. I don't always get that much when I express - generally only when she has slept longer than usual and I am bursting so she only takes from on side. This morning I only got 70mls - but I didn't express for that long as didn't want her to crack it so had to get it done while she was happy lying on the floor. Yay on first bath on your own, so cute when they smile at you the whole time. I have had to bath on my own a fair bit with DH doing night shift, he starts at 5pm and bathtime is after this feed. How did you hurt your shoulder? Hope it feels better soon. I'm going to get Grace's immunisations done on Friday morning. Sleeping afterward seems like a fairly calm reaction, I hope I get that from Grace and not cranky and grizzly! I really should go and get some more photo's printed out. We got all the photo's printed in her first 2 weeks and haven't printed any since, she looks a wee bit different now! Didn't realise how quickly baby's grow and change otherwise we might not have gotten so many printed so early, oh well. Just about to feed little miss who has had a short sleep in her cot for the first time ever. Normally she won't sleep in her cot during the day, but my mum suggested I wrap her lightly and put her in as that is what we do at night, so gave it a go. She lay awaked for ages but eventually fell asleep. DH is just changing her nappy and then it is food time! Have a good day ladies.

Hi everyone, haven't posted for a while so might have to be quick - you guys have been busy chatting!

We dtd soon after the 6 wk check but haven't since. It was actually fine, I was worried and I felt a little tender but it was still nice. I'm on the mini-pill, this one you have to take +/- 3 hours, not 1 hour so not too hard. I set my mobile to alarm everyday at the same time so I don't forget. Not that I'm having a whole lot of sex LOL, mainly because I'm tired and we go to bed at different times - M is in bed by about 9:30 usually but I stay up to do a dreamfeed with S.

Tried to change S' sleeping pattern at night last week. He normally has his last feed around 7-8 and then I dreamfeed at about 10:30-11, and he'll sleep through until 2 or 3. So I thought I might cut out the dreamfeed as sometimes he doesn't want it anyway. I went to bed around 10 and he woke up at 12 both nights, ugh! And then again at 4, and we get up at 5, (normally he wakes at 5 too). So we're back to how we were - it's about the same amount of sleep for me but it means I have a slightly longer sleep first then a shorter one, which is somehow a bit more bearable. I can always take a nap during the day if I need it.

S had his immunisations last week, cried a bit when he got the needles and slept a whole lot for the next couple of days. I gave him a little bit of children's panadol but he spat it out and then vomitted, so I guess he doesn't like it. I tasted it and I can't blame him. It's disgusting - who thought cherry (and a bad cherry at that!) would be a good flavour for babies? Anyway he didn't seem too bad so I decided to just leave him to it. A bit grizzlier than usual at night but otherwise fine.

Mother's group was good this week, we went for coffee afterwards and they're a nice bunch. Was going to go to the exercise classes offered at the hospital today but decided to tackle Mt Washing instead (with good results, it's all done!) We got our nappies and covers in the mail today - S is currently wearing a BBH and a motherease cover. Gee it's big, but I guess the nappy will fit him until toilet training so that's why.

We found the infant size disposables in the Coles brand too. But only in the 32 pack. Also I've decided for disposables we'll stick to Huggies because I think the Coles brand ones are leaking crystals onto his skin and I don't like that idea. They're not that much cheaper anyway.

Re childcare I went to a couple of places last week as I'm going to work in Term 3 (end July). I don't want to leave him there! But that's just cause I don't want to leave him anywhere, both places I looked at were really really nice, very clean with lovely staff and they think S is beautiful ;) Yay for the extra money from the budget, right?!

Well, better get to and cook dinner I guess. Ooh, Dh and I are going on a date on Friday :) we have a friend to babysit and we're just going to a local restaurant so are closeby if anything happens. I'm a bit nervous but hopefully it will be all OK. I got offered some work (parent interviews) on Saturday too but don't think I'll take it. It's 7 hours I'd be away from Sebastian and he's not that keen on the bottle... besides my breasts will be like rocks after not feeding for that long LOL

So much for being quick... :p

Caro what is Oskar's twins weight now? lol...that's a little bit of a mouthful sometimes.

Rachel, sometimes Oskar likes being on his tummy and other times he chucks a tanty about it. I'm not sure if it depends on how soon after a feed or if he's got wind or what. Sometimes he's happy to even have a nap on his belly. A platter with cheese and celery etc sounds nice :D

Karina, I don't like dummies either, but it has meant I can do the groceries or tie him over till I stop the car when driving at times. I'm hoping that I can get him to not need to have it soon. I don't speak to my dad either...not that he's asked my brother or mum for any pics of Oskar or anything to do with me. His loss anyway.

Sasha, sounds like Sebastian is doing well which is great to hear!! It's good you have some nice mums to share some time with, nothing like a good chat over a cuppa!!

Today we went to some new mother's group thing which is done through Qld Health and the HCN was a bit of a funny one. She's older and came across a lot of the time as though she was telling everyone what to do IYKWIM? Like, next week we are going to talk about sleeping etc cos it seems that most of the babies in our group don't like to sleep much in the day on their own. Now, we all did say that we don't have an issue with this cos they sleep pretty well at night, but she doesn't seem to retain this information...lol...so it's a little frustrating. I figure though that if I hear something I wish to use I will and if I don't then I'm getting out of the house for a couple of hours and interacting with adults so it's all good either way.

Does anyone else have issues with partners upsetting the apple cart... eg... Oskar was quite happy in his rocker this arvo while I was making dinner but Andy decided to straighten him up as he was leaning to the side... before I could stop him he'd upset Oskar by moving him and so I couldn't eat my dinner without getting up all the time. Now he's just picked Oskar up out of bed cos he started grizzling... but he would've gone back to sleep. I am really frustrated right now cos I know he means well and I don't want to say something again cos I already did about the rocker cos I don't want to sound like I'm picking on everything ...but I'm the one who ultimately has to deal with it. Oskar would've slept through till 3-4am but now who knows what he's going to do...!!! GRRRR...I better go and sort it out. I was having a good day till this evening cos Oskar even slept without me having to hold him and was happy in his rocker which usually he isn't!! I even got to wash my hair without him screaming. *sighs* Speak to you later.

Hi girls, what an ordinary morning. Grace didn't sleep from 4am to 6am so i was up and down settling her, DH was on night shift last night so just me here. Then to top it off DH came home and told me that an old friend killed himself last night. I am devastated and shocked - did not see that coming, and only saw him 2 weeks ago. On a brighter note, start mothers group today so hopefully that will be good, will let you know. hope everyone else is having a better morning.

thanks caro. i'm sorry you had such an ordinary night. I shouldn't complain, it wasn't that bad, but because it's so rare it really hits hard! Feeling much better this arvo. have been at mothers group which was really good, all the ladies seem very nice and all the babies are between 8 and 10 weeks which is good (one is 5 months but born 2.5 months early so developementally she is 10 weeks). It was good to be around other mums and see that their babies cry too! got my parents for dinner tonight as i didn't feel like being alone and DH is at work again. funny though, 3 other women in the group delivered at the same hospital as me, which i thought was great, they all didn't think it was that good. funny how everyone has different experiences.

Rachel I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, that must have been an awful shock for you. Great about mothers' group though - it's nice to get in touch with some others with babies of similar age, isn't it?

Wow Caro you had a busy night! Poor thing. Is Michael better able to keep his food down now?

We had a fully cloth-nappied day today! Tried out the new covers I got yesterday with the BBH, Mandymacs and also tried a Pocket Change AIO. It's just a bit of getting used to how big they are on him, quite odd looking after the little disposables.

Ooh, also who was it who was trying to find Infants size Huggies in a bigger size? Bought some on special from Coles today for $18 something and they're a 46 pack.

Exciting news for M's work - he got a promotion recently and they told him today he's getting his own office and is flying to Sydney next week for training, how cool! Unfortunately I can't go with and it's only two and a half days anyway so S and I will just do some visiting and fun stuff together. I'm so proud of M, and he's pleased as punch, it's great :)

Rachel - so sorry to hear about your friend. :( Your mothers group sounds good. My CHN wants me to go next Tuesday as she has another second time mum after a long break between babies who also wants to go to a mothers group. I think it will be good to get out of the house too.

Caro - sounds like you had a rough night. Your DH sounds like a great help. It is great to have that kind of support, especially through the night! I am very lucky, as my DH does the night feeds now that Nic is having a bottle. He is a real night person and usually stays up til all hours, so I go off to bed early, and get up to Nic first thing and get the girls off to school while DH sleeps in.

Cass - I ordered my HAB yesterday!! I had it expressed, so I should get it in a couple of days. I am really excited as Nic has been worse the last coupld of days and to be able to carry him around in that would be great!

Took Nic to the chiropractor again today. So far, I can't see that it is making a difference, but we might need to go a few more times to see any change. I think Nic is worse, but maybe his new medication is just taking a while to kick in??? He was shocking today, just crying all day and wouldn't go to sleep, even in my arms! I have decided to start a new, strict routine with him tomorrow. He is just getting too tired and then it is impossible to get him to sleep. He is also still feeding 3 hourly, so tomorrow I am going to try to stretch him to 4 hours between each feed. That way, he may go longer at night (Yippee!). Anyway, I am hopeful, and I really need something to cling to as I feel I may go mad! Sleep depreivation and a screaming baby are forms of torture I swear!! And I am not even the one with pain!! Poor darling boy, the reflux is really painful, as you can see it in his face.

Anyway, it makes it all worthwhile when he smiles one of his very few smiles! Hope everyone else is going ok. The updated photo's I am seeing are just beautiful! I love Clairs cheeky smile!

Hello everyone, can't chat for long as Ariya had her immunisations today and is not a happy camper but one thing I can do while nursing her is sit at the computer. I hate immunisations :-( She has a fever and won't sleep unless someone is holding her and everytime you touch her legs she screams. Feeling very guiltt.

Just wondering where did you find out about your mothers groups as I would love to do something with just Ariya and me, all she seems to do at the moment is trail around after her big brother.

Got my nappies today a baby kanga, Happy Heiny and a peapod. I am thinking about starting my ownbusiness distributing nappies online and in person through regional Australia as no-one comes up here with any products and it's a real hit and miss game.

Went for my 6 wks check today - unfortunately my appointment is tomorrow - how much of an idiot do I feel like but on the upside I did get to see our uncle and Aunty who are professional photographers and took some photos of Ari in the hospital - so gorgeous, will post a link when I get them and we are going to do a whole family sitting next week - can't wait.

Sarah , i got the details for my mothers group from the Child Health Nurse, the mothers group here are run by the child health centre. I felt so guilty when Claire had her immunisations but my theory was it was better to have that than for her to get whooping cough or some other nasty thing like that! OOps about showing up to your appointment on the wrong day. I once did that for a job interview.. and still managed to get the job, lol!

Jomarie, poor little Nic, and you too. I agree the sleep deprivation is torture isnt it! I agree you probably need to make a few visits to the Chiro before you see a real improvement. Hope you enjoy your HAB and he enjoys it too!

Spent all day at home waiting for my fridge to arrive. It did arrive (after like 4 weeks of me calling the shop to ask where it is!!) and its sooooo cool. I love my fridge. (ok I get excited over small things). DH bought me my mothers day pressie tonight, except it wont be a surprise because he told me what he got!!! Silly man. oh well, I still love him.
We're going to go to the Baby market in a couple weeks (thanks Cass for the details on that!) Its exciting - I am going to look for a port-a-cot so mum can babysit! Maybe theyll have some cloth nappies there too?? I dont like buying stuff online. I like to touch and see it before I buy it.

Thanks for all of your kind words, it was a massive shock but coming to terms with it now. Had a good night with Grace although she did wake after 6 hours overnight but she went back to sleep this time. Had her immunised this morning - I know what you mean Sarah! She has been so grizzly since, like she was in pain - so i gave her some panadol and wrapped her and gave her cuddles - she is now in the cot sound asleep - bliss. Should have seen the face she pulled when she tasted the panadol! What a silly flavouring, seeing that she has never tasted anything but booby milk. She coughed a bit and cried but we got it down. Was feeling guilty about putting her down when she was crying because she had just been through so much, her poor legs must be killing her.Mother's group was great - can't wait until next week!

Bec- yay on the full day of cloth. I have the bamboozole on grace for the first time today (takes so long to dry), hoping it hasn't leaked when i go to change her. Not too bulky either (I suppose nothing is too bulky when you also use flanalette flats!). Let us know how all of your brands work for you. Congratulations to your DP - how exciting! Enjoy your time with Sebastian while DP is away. By the way, is he liking the HAB now?

JoMarie - we had a second time mum in our group her first daughter is 9. Should be good for you. Sleep deprivation IS a form of torture! I hope he settles for you and you get some sleep. Hope you get the HAB ASAP! You reminded me I really must update the photo's on my site.

Sarah - our council sends us out an 'invite' to mother's group and we book from there. Maybe contact your council and they can help you out. Let us know how your nappies go - we have some peapods and they are better now that they have been washed a few times, I think I need to get some night boosters though. That's a good idea re the nappy distriution. You duffa - oh well, at least you will turn up on time tomorrow!!

Caro - it is emla cream - but it only stops the pain at the skin level. Injections usually hurt when the stuff is being squirted in because it seperated all the tissue inside so may not do much - but it can't hurt i suppose.

Trying to work out where to go for dinner tomorrow night. The restaurant we were going to go to doesn't exist anymore! Who was going out on a dinner date tonight? Well...ENJOY!!

Rachel, i never thought of that - they should make the baby panadol taste like booby milk. Hope she sleeps well for you tonight.

We took Claire to the shops with us last night and she needed to be fed while we were there. I went into the Parents room and it was absolutely disgusting! All the nappy bins were overflowingand the floors and benches were filthy.. and it STUNK so we whinged and they came and cleaned the room!

Claire slpt 7 hours last night!! fantastic. and i weighed her today and she is now 4.4kg.

Hi everyone

Had a great day today! I think the Losec is starting to work finally. I woke Nic at 7.30am to feed him, and have been able to stretch him out to 4 hourly feeds all day. I am hoping this will make him go longer at night, as he is still only going 3 hourly. He slept in his cot this morning for 1 1/2 hours and then slept the whole time we were at the shops in his pram from about 12.30pm to 3! Such a darling. When he woke up, he was all smiley and cooing. It was so nice to see him actually happy for a change. Oops, have to go, he's in the shower with DH and it's time to get out.

Just a quick hi. I have Oskar on my lap cos he doesn't want to play with his hanging toy things anymore. He's got the hiccups...lol.

Karina, make sure you get to the markets as early as you can... I would recommend at least 1 hour earlier than their opening time cos most of the big stuff like portacots etc were gone when we got in the door.

Rachel, I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Not a nice thing to happen at all. I'm glad that your mother's group was good though.

Sash, I found the nappies too, after I'd paid full price at Woolies!! lol. Oh well, I bought the infant size to see if they fit Oskar and they do...so we'll finish off his newborn ones and then he can move up to big boy nappies!! WOOHOO!!

Sarah, I'm with Caro, do not feel guilty!! You are doing something to help Ariya! Ps... send me an email with your addy for the clothes!! For some reason every email I send you bounces back to me saying your email doesn't exist.

Went and bought Oskar some things for his room today...hehe. Jo, I got the Zanzibar theme stuff for his room, similar to the Malawi one but more of the beige/neutral colours and the green is almost identical to the one we painted for his feature wall. It's going to look fab when it's finished off. I'm glad we waited in some ways to find out if he was a boy or a girl. Now I'm just over the room being too bare and cos I'm not as tired I'm starting to get back into stuff.

Must go, grizzle guts isn't happy with sitting still now...lol.

Hey everyone!

I'm gonna have a vent... Since my mum left on Tuesday... I feel so lost an alone (although i still have family and friends around me) my mum was such a great help with izzy, and now i'm back at home, with just me! it sucks i gotta tell u!

Izzy has been sick for the last week (with a cold) I've taken her to the doctors to double check that it hasn't gone to her chest (which is hasn't) and bought a vapariser for her room, i make sure we at home by 4-5 the latest, so she dosn't get the cold night air, and wrap her up nice and snuggling for bed, been using dimetapp + panadol... but nothing is shifting this bloody cold... which is leaving izzy tired and unsettled...

Although she still sleeps fantastic through the night from 6pm - 11 (feed, bum change) 12- 6am... But Through out the day... she just will not be put down, even for a 5min shower she screams! and this is the horrible blood curtling scream! and i can't even hand her of to anyone else for 5 mins because she just screams louder, and will not settle!

By the end of the day i am absolutly buggured! but also enjoying the time without izzy in my arms! i feel so horrible and useless, i have no idea what i'm doing wrong or right, i feel horrible because she can't seem to shake the cold, breastfeeding is still hurting, i'm still post birth bleeding (doctor seems to think this is normal) I DONT... it just sucks! Although i still wouldn't change anything ;) Love her tooo much!

Well that's my long vent! Apoligies in advance!

Cass... huge :hug: to you. I hope Izzy gets better soon. Oskar was like that with me putting him down during the day, now he lets me for about half an hour in the morning and sometimes if I'm lucky in the afternoon so I can have something to eat for lunch even if it is 3pm!! Remember we are all here for you to vent to and chat to although I know it's different to actually having someone there face to face.

Caro... OMG!! They really are twins!! PMSL. I love it, it is soooo cute and it matches the colours we painted his room so perfectly it's not funny and we didn't even choose the colours we painted to match anything like that! I will update with a new pic once I put up the hooks etc sometime this week if I can get Andy to do it :) Nah, I got the sheets on a discount cos they'd been used on display so I got them for $30 and I got the thermal blanket cos Andy liked it better than the fleece one and I got the hooks cos I thought that instead of getting the wall hanging things I'd get the hooks cos they still have pictures but are practical. I'm going to get the quilt but they didn't have it there and I also want the lamp. It will look awesome on your Boori cot!!

Hi everyone, Happy Mothers Day! Fairly boring here, M has a cold so we haven't exactly been celebrating, I have to whinge a bit, why is it that he can't possibly look after himself when he has a cold, but when I am sick I still have to do everything?!! Oh well, that's life I guess.

Anyway I didn't really want to do much for Mother's day, so I went out and bought cake and we'll have a nice afternoon tea at home later on. We had a lovely time on Friday night, and S was an angel for our friends who babysat. I even had some wine (i'd expressed milk so figure it was OK) and we had a great dinner. Might have to exploit that avenue again, I think!

Meanwhile S has had some incredible nappies, poo explosions LOL. This morning he did a massive one which leaked through his (disposable) nappy, clothes and muslin wrap, so I put him on the change mat, and then just took off everything and put it in a pile, dressed him in a cloth nappy and put all the dirty stuff together in the washing machine... I go to get the washing out later and realise I'd forgotten to take out the disposable nappy, yes, I WASHED IT :doh: So I've binned the disposable and rinsed the clothes once in the sink and then twice more through the washing machine, ugh, what a nightmare! They seem to be OK now, hope it hasn't done the washing machine any harm.

We've been out to the shops a couple of times this week to get clothes for M's Sydney trip and for work as he's moving from warehouse to office, and S has been in the HAB both times - it's great. He's either fallen asleep or just sat there looking around. So many people stare though, not in a bad way, just they think it's weird I think. But he seems to love it and it's comfy for me too, although I must admit he gets a bit heavy after a while.

Cass hope you're feeling better and Izzy is getting over her cold. I know the feeling when S is like that, it's exhausting not even being able to have a shower by yourself! It's also rough when you're on your own, you have my full admiration (I'm sure that doesn't make it any easier though) Re the bleeding maybe get a second opinion as our CHN said if it goes on for longer than 6 weeks you should get it checked out.

Sarah, bummer about going to your appt on the wrong day! I'll have to check out your photos soon, good thing you got to see your aunty and uncle.

Caro, thanks, amazing that the colours we chose without seeing the set first are perfect though!! Got some screws today to hang up his hooks so that's the first step, now when Andy is finished watching the footy I will get him to hang them...then cook me dinner cos it's mother's day...hehe. Yep I saw your painting and I LOVE it.

Cass - I got my HAB on Friday, YIPPPEE!! I absolutely love it! I used it all day on saturday, around the house, then to the shops, doing the dishes. I don't know what I did before we had it! Nic went to sleep every time. I love the Zanzibar theme too, so cute. I ended up getting the border for the Malawi stuff as well, but we haven't put that up yet. Nic has just started to be interested in his mobile, he will just lie in his cot and smile at it.

Bec - I just realised you are also in Perth. North or South of the river??

I hope everyone had a lovely mother's day. The girls gave me lovely gifts they made at school, the best kind!! Nic has been a dream the last few days. Sleeping, smiling, feeding better, even playing! He slept 5 hours last night, very exciting!!!! He is like a new baby.

Had something else interesting to say but I've forgotten what it was LOL must be time for bed, I think! I'm on the downstairs bed tonight - M can keep his germs to himself!! (and hopefully he might sleep better without S and me getting up for feeds/changes... I want him to get better asap before he goes away).

Hi everyone, hope everyone had a lovely day yesterday. We had a great day, not that relaxing though as Grace decided that she wanted to spend mother's day glued to her mother and no-one else! I was the only one that she would settle with all day - and she wouldn't go down either, still nice though. DH got me a beautiful frame that had 6 photo's (2 set of 3) of Grace showing a sequence of events (one is looking,then starting to smile, then big smile). They are in black and white. My DH is such a sweetie.

Well, we got through the immunisations no problemo - She was a bit grizzly afterwards, gave her some panadol and then she slept and slept and slept. Then on Saturday (immunisations on Friday) she was such a good girl and the sleeping continued - she slept while DH walked to the supermarket and back in the pram, she slept when we went to the local shopping centre and then when she wasn't asleep she was just looking around, no crying. It was great. She made up for the no crying yesterday though! When DH got to the shopping centre (I was already there but lost track of time so he bought her down so I could feed her) she was due for her 1pm feed (3 hours) and she was asleep! We didn't know what to do, lol. We had never had this happen before. We were umming and aahing as to whether we should get lunch or wake her...it was hilarious. We ended up getting lunch an she slept through until 2pm which made it a 4 hour feed. It was bizarre - do you think she was still a bit sleepy after her immunisations the day before?

Having a day at home today - will attempt to get the housework done. DH doesn't go back to work until tomorrow so we may have some success at that. The funeral for my friend is on Wednesday so not looking forward to that, I hope it is a celebration of his life so that we can forget the way that he actually died, iykwim. Really don't know what to wear - don't really own a lot of dark clothes that don't have colours on them too. I have a gorgeous black top that I bought on Saturday but it has coloured flowers on it which I'm not sure if that would be appropriate for a funeral, what does everyone think?

Ooops, it's just started raining here, better go and round up some cats before they get drowned! Speak later...

Jo, I love the HAB too!! Oskar just loves it, sometimes he doesn't want to be quite so close though (maybe he is a bit hot) and likes it in the other carrier, but my shoulders don't like it!!

Caro, I do know what you mean, the HAB does take a while to tie on....but...I have found that when Oskar is really fussing that I can put it on really fast and it's neater than when I try to take my time when he's not fussing!!

Rachel, sometimes I'm not sure if I should wake Oskar either. I figure though that when they're hungry or thirsty they'll wake up. I think that your top would be fine to wear to the funeral. Some people wore some brighter clothes at my nan's funeral. It's not disrespectful at all and I think things are a little different these days too. Like you said, a celebration of their life whereas it was never like that in earlier days. You wear what you feel comfortable wearing and I hope that it's not too hard a day for you.

Oskar slept for 9 hours on Sat night... I couldn't believe it!! I woke a couple of times before cos my boobs were sore and I must be used to waking and I just couldn't believe he was still sleeping! I will say though that he'd barely slept all Sat afternoon, so he was probably so tired that he couldn't wake up. Then yesterday he actually slept by himself (not in my arms) on our bed for 3 hours!! I think that it's been partially my fault that he only slept in my arms... I was letting him go to sleep on my boob then when I put him down he'd wake a bit and I think that it kinda startled him to be not where he was when he went to sleep IYKWIM? I've put him on our bed again this morning and he's been asleep for about an hour now. I have to settle him off to sleep but it's giving my arms a break and he's probably sleeping better. I'm touching lotsa wood now that I've opened my mouth...lol. Ok, better go and put his sheets in the wash so I can put them on his cot which Andy picked up for me yesterday :D

Forgot to say before... Coles and Bi Lo have Huggies box nappies on special for $31.95 - almost $10 saving. I'm not sure if this is Aust wide or just Qld or Brissy. Just thought I'd share anyway.

I get so flustered when I am walkng through the shops and Claire is screaming. I usually wont wake claire to feed her. If my breast are exploding I just express and feed her that when she wakes up. tbh I have no idea on appropriate clothing for a funeral. I dont think it needs to be black, maybe some other dark colour like brown if you have no black? I wore a purple top to my nannas funeral because I wanted it to be more of a celebration of her life too. I hope its a nice service on wednesday.

well Claire hasnt woken for her 2am feed the last 3 nights, but I have woken up at that time.. i suppose because i am used to it. ISo she has been sleeping from about 11pm to 4am. I am hoping this is the start of her sleeping through the night!

I'm confused as to whether or not Huggies make the Infant boy nappies in the box size?? They have the bulk 48 (which are also on special at both Coles and Woolies and I bought them) but I can't seem to find them in a box. Do they not make them in that size??

Cass I don't think they make them in a box as I can't find them either. The 48 pack is the biggest I've seen. I bought some of the Crawler in a box when they were on special a couple of weeks ago, but they are still a bit too big for S I think (6-11 kg). Thought I would just take advantage of the special while I could since I'm sure we'll use them!

Karina – I tried Baby Love nappies as well, and found they leaked every time, even if I changed them more often. I have gone back to Huggies, they might be a bit more expensive, but it is better than having to change the sheets on the bed every time Nic has a sleep! Oh, every time I see that pic of Claire on your signature, I smile. She is just so cute!

Bec and Caro – I am in Karrinyup. Would love to meet up some time. Caro, I love the HAB, though I know what you mean about it taking so long to put on, I am getting quicker now though, and managed to put it on at the shops today. I usually put it on at home, then drive to wherever we are going then put him in it. He slept in it for 2 ½ hours today at the shops while I was wandering around, then I almost got into the car to collect the girls while I was still wearing him!

Cass – Nic loves being really close to me, he really snuffles in to my chest. Maybe it is because I am not breast feeding anymore so this is his chance to get as close as possible to my boobs! WTG on the 9 hours, Oskar is a little champ!

Rachel – I think it is fine to wear colours to a funeral. It’s not like you are wearing a bright red frock to stand out. I think you should wear something you feel comfortable in. I wore brown and cream to my FIL funeral, and lots of people wear colour, especially for someone so young, colour seems a bit happier, more like a celebration of life, as you said.

I haven’t seen the bulk box of Huggies Infants either, but have just bought another box of Newborns without thinking that Nic will be growing out of them pretty soon. He is almost 5kg.Oh well, it’s not like you don’t use plenty of them every day, I hope they still fit him for a while.

Well, Nic has been fabulous again today. After dropping the girls to school, we came home and he went off to sleep with no trouble. I had to wake him at 11.30am for a bottle, then we went shopping. I put him in the HAB and he slept for 2 ½ hours. I then picked up the kids and went to piano lessons where he fed again, went off to sleep and when we got home, he had a shower with his daddy and I put him in the HAB again while I cooked dinner. He loves it in there, he just went off to sleep then woke at 6.30pm for his bottle and then went off to sleep. He is so gorgeous, he can put himself to sleep most times now, so clever! We are going to mother’s group for the first time tomorrow, should be interesting. Well, that’s it for my run through, had better put the girls to bed.

Hello all, sounds like we all had a fab mothers day. I got a beautiful pasta shell necklace and a silver pasta shell photo frame from DS and we have Mothers night at Kindy this Thursday. Honestly I think he was more excited about mothers day than I was :-) which was sooooo cute. I also got my super sewing machine from DH - LOVE IT! Can't wait to start quilting on it it will be absolute bliss.

I think I now have one of every type of pocket nappy available and I can't decide which one I like the best thye all have they're advantages. Rachel I don't really like the fit of the peapod but they are much cheaper than the others.

I can't remember who posted what so i'll just blabber.

HAB - I tie mine before going out, I probably look like a dork getting in and out of the car and driving but it makes it much easier. I actually bought material today to make my own - do you rekon it's copyrighted??? It's basically just a strip of material, can they copyright it when it is such an old form of baby wearing?

Nappies - snugglers are pretty good for during the day too. As for why they don't make infant boxes - because they make more money off the packets and they know we need the boxes :-) I bought heaps of infant because I remembered DS stayed in them for ages but Ari is heading into crawlers (aren't they ridiculous names crawler, toddler etc - I think DS was in toddler before he could even walk)

Cass - I know how you feel, my mum lives a long way a way too and we left our home town Brissie when DS was just 6wks old. he was an unsettled baby too (the reason we waited 4yrs to have another) Have you got a sling? I know it is still a pain to carry them around but at least it gives your arms a rest. will she fall asleep on you? Sometimes just letting them get a little sleep will help them settle. My favourite saying when Xander was little was "this too will pass" and eventusally she will be happy on her own. in the meantime just enjoy her even if it means the housework never gets done. You are doing a super job! Also my postpartum bleeding lasted 7wks and I had another little bleed last week. apparently avid feeders can cause bleeding as the sucking cause contractions. BTW BF still hurts me too? Is it still really bad or just a nagging sensation? Have you had your attachment checked.

OK can't remember any thing else but just wanted to update RE our whoops last week. I'm am really starting to freak as OB said I could have had my period at 7wks and now I am dizzy and getting headaches and having CM like when I was first pg. OMG I seriously can't be pg again! Anyway just had to get that off my chest.
