caro i ddint have it as a link as such.. but changed it anyway incase the mods are fussy about it lol. It says they deliver *anywhere*.. so i dont see why they wouldnt deliver to WA??unless they only do deliveries in Vic? false advertising if they dont deliver to WA too!!!!
Jo, thanks:) thats so sweet that my pic of Claire makes you smile. I just stalked your website and little Nicholas is so cute and your two girls are gorgeous too. wow you looked really good straight after giving birth - I looked horrid!! pmsl!
Sarah, what a cute pressie you got! Woohoo on the sewing machine too. with the HAB being copyrighted... i am not sure?? but I think another member made her own HAB too. Fionajill, i think?
OMG Claire has been screaming so much tonight.. and spent like an hour on my boob. feels like my nipple is going to fall off! I went to the library to get a book out and she was quiet but awake the whole time I was there and for about 30 mins after i got home, but as soon as hubby got home.. omg... I cant believe so much noise can come out of someone so tiny. I think she doesnt like me. We finally got her to settle and she is now sleeping.
time for sleep now!

:hello:
Happy Mothers day for yesterday. We had a lovely family day at a picnic spot on the river, DH parents, my parents and us. Kaiden brought me a little teddy bear charm for my braclette and a lovely card (of course DH organised all this.. hehe) and i had banana pancakes made for me. Very lucky in deed. Mum also brought me some tulips for my first mothers day. It was a beautiful day.
Rachel: I am sorry to hear about your friends death, the top will be fine for the funeral, its not so traditonal anymore.
Cass: i hope Izzy is better
Bec, Jo & Caro: I am south of the river (Beeliar) but dont mind driving up near you guys. I am off to subiaco tomorrow for my girlfriends birthday lunch at the subi hotel, looking forward to roaming the streets with Kaiden doing some window shopping after lunch. I think i might express a couple of bottles, not to confident on bf in public still and i dont think there are any parenting rooms in subi.
I have not seen any bulk infant nappies either, i brought two boxes of crawlers as they were at $29, what is the difference with the infants/crawlers when they are around the size weight??? Kaiden is 5.55kg last Thursday.
I took Kaiden swimming today, he loved it, nice and warm in the hydrotherapy pool at the hospital, i am also learning the nursery rymes because we sing to them.
Loving mothers group have a great bunch of ladies. Some are second/third time mums. My mothers group was started from our health centre.
Kaiden is very bad reflux, poor little fellow: do i get have to get a perscription for Losec?? He is though sleeping through the night from 9.30-6am sometimes 7am, my boobs are killing me by 4am i have to express because they are going to explode. I need to speak to a lac consultant because i have to go back to work soon so need to get some advise on missing feeds.
I loved the Zanzi bar theme too, we didnt end up getting it though. We ordered some awesome canvas paintings off ebay, just waiting for them to arrive, one of a fire truck and one of a car. We are getting Kaidens feet put in plaster and then framed so going to put that on the wall too and have his name done up for his door. Also going to get his birth cert put in a frame too.
Well better go sorry for those who i didnt individually write too. i forget from reading the previous pages and i cant go back and check on them..

Hi girls...I think I'm going to wear that top, I don't really have anything else anyway and as DH pointed out, Grace won't be in black (do they even make black clothes for babies!). We weren't going to take her as I thought that my being upset would upset her, but we have babysitter issues and DH is happy to take her. He said he would hold her - he will be upset but he's not a crier like me so hopefully she won't pick up on his sad vibes as much as me. My mum said she will be ok, she's too young to really know what it will be about anyway.
Sonia - I didn't know you could take them swimming so soon! I can't wait to take swimming lessons with Grace, it will be so fun.
Grace is really working on rolling. She can now get right over on her side and there have been a few times that I thought she was going to get over. It's so cute to watch, she gets so frustrated with herself when she can't do it. If she keeps this up it won't be long before she does roll!
Oooh, Sarah, how scary. I would be beside myself! lol! I hope for your sake that you aren't (unless of course that is what you want and then I hope you are!!!lol!!). We find the peapods fit ok, but they are still leaking, I don't know if i'm not putting the stuffing in properly as that is dry,, almost like she has peed around it!
I assumed they didn't make big boxes of infant size because there is only a kg of overlap and then they fit into the next size up (between 5 and 6 kgs), so they make more money out of you when you have to buy smaller amounts (unless you get them on special!!). Should get another box of crawler seeing that they are on special. Seem to be using more disposable than cloth lately as we are always out and about. The flanalette flats are not cutting it anymore (she almost doesn't fit them), but only have 3 fitted MCNs and one is the bamboozle which takes forever to dry. Going to Adelaide in a couple of weeks and there is a shop there that stocks MCNs that is just down the road from where we are staying so hanging out to check them out for real.
Does this seem weird? Got a phone call this morning from DH ex fiance, whom I haven't even met. My FIL is getting married in a couple of weeks (hence the going to Adelaide) and has invited DH ex fiance (WTF!!! I know). That, I can live with. I knew they were in touch years ago but didn't realise they still were. Now I haven't met her...she wanted to meet me once but DH didn't want to have a friendship with her so never got back to her (isn't that hint enough). She rang this morning as she and her DD are going to the wedding (she lives in melbourne too) and she wanted to know if she could come with us in our car!!! WTF was what went through my head....although I politely said that with DD it would be too squishy - she didn't know that we had a daughter! I just thought that was a strange thing to ask of someone that you don't keep in touch with, different if we did. Is it just me or is that weird?
Have spent that last hour and a half settling Grace in her cot as we are trying to get her used to sleeping in the cot during the day, she finally fell asleep at 1.30 with her feed due now! Won't wake her as she hasn't slept much and I'm sure she will wake soon. Once she is fed we are off to meet Jessica, Aiden and Tate so that will be good.
If anyone is interested, I have put some more photo's onto my website in my signature.
-
Karina – I really need to update the photo’s of Nicholas. He looks totally different now that he has put on some weight. Thanks for the comment on how I looked after the birth too, I have to say, I felt really good. It wasn’t until about day 3 that I started to look really crap, and things are not looking up at this point either!!
Sonia- I don’t know of any parent rooms in Subi either. Maybe we should arrange somewhere a bit more central, South Perth or somewhere?? Nic also has reflux and the Losec has worked really well for him. You can get a script from your GP, but then I had to go to St John’s in Subi to have the pharmacy make a liquid form. Apparently they give you tablets otherwise, and the liquid is much easier to give them. I have also been taking him to a chiropractor as was recommended by the GP and the CHN, so I am not sure what is working of the two, but I am not game to take him off either one! He is much better now, still throws up a lot, but without the pain.
Rachel – Nic has been rolling onto his side too. I must look at Jasmyn’s baby book to remember how old she was when she started doing things. About your DH’s ex, yes, I think that is a bit strange her asking for a lift, especially as she doesn’t know you and they haven’t spoken for so long. And, it’s not as if you are just popping down the road, you are crossing the border! I think you handled it very diplomatically. The pics of Grace are beautiful. It’s funny, I have a photo of Keyt with Nic in the same pose (nose to nose) as Grace with her Daddy! So cute.
-
My god Rachel. WTF with the Ex... what does she think you are going to say..
Expressed a bottle for Kaiden to have at lunch so all worked well with Subiaco today although he is very unsettled with his reflux and he got so tired. I am going to trya nd stay home more often i think i am taking him out to much.
Will speak to CHN tomorrow to see what i should do about Losec etc.
I want to try and get K to feed 4 hourly instead of 2hrly does anybody have any advice on this?? I will look at bf posts as well.
-
Jo, Sonia, if you look on the australian breastfeeding association website they have a list of parents room which they think are good ones. its under products and services, then babycare rooms. Theres a bunch listed in WA but I have no idea what theyre near since I have never been to Perth lol. Obvisouly not ALL are listed, just the ones they have seen and think are good.
Jo, i'm looking ordinary still. Just got sent a bunch of photos of myself and omg my skin looks terrible. Ive been photoshopping away all my zits!
Rachel, eek about the ex. I have no idea what I would do, but I dont think I;d be happy with the whole situation, esp since it was something just out of the blue like that. wierd. I'd say no! because I'm a meanie.
omg Claire cried non stop from 7pm to 11pm then again from 1am to 6am. I was tearing my hair out. DH felt sorry for me so he went out today and bought me a present from Claire to say sorry. How cute.
Anyone elses DH not change nappies?? Mine just leaves her in a full nappy then wonders why the nappy leaks. Is it a bloke thing?
-
((HUGS)) to you Caro, hopefully Michael will start to settle down soon. I can understand you feeling bad, even though of course you're not a failure! But I get how you can feel that way. Have you been in touch with the ABA, maybe they can give you some help or some ideas as to why he's not feeding so well. I haven't called them but two girlfriends have and they both said they were fantastic. Btw S used to do the clearing the throat thing as well, it's an awful sound, but he seems to have grown out of it? Not sure why he did it, either.
Karina, M will change nappies but it sometimes doesn't occur to him. Now, changing cloth nappies ... well, I can see that will be a bit of a hurdle for him!!
Sonia hope your lunch was good - went there last year for my birthday and it was great food. I know what you mean about b/f in public, I like to go and sit in the car if I have to do it, not because I'm embarrassed but it's just a thing I like to do in private. Don't have any ideas on the 4 hour feeds though. Sometimes if S is getting hungry and it's not practical to feed him or I want him to wait a bit, I can distract him a little with a game or singing a bit, and I can stretch it out a bit that way. I need to express a bit more I think, since some days I just feel like I'm exhausted and all I'm doing is feeding, feeding, MOO!
Rachel, hope the funeral is as "good" as it can be iykwim. Good idea having your DH hold Grace. Yes, I think the call from the ex is weird. Glad you could think of a good reason for her not coming in the car with you!
Ooh, Sarah, that's a bit scarey about pg symptoms, hope you get some good news at the Ob. I think I like the pocket nappies too, covers plus nappy just seem to be too huge for S, sometimes I can hardly fit his clothes over them!! Also I have more chance of getting M to use pockets I think ;)
Jo, Caro, Sonia - South Perth would be fine with me, I'm happy to drive a bit. When is good for you? Tuesdays are out for me, and mornings are best because I need to pick up M in the early afternoon.
We had mothers group today and had coffee again afterwards. We're trying to get organised to form our own playgroup which should be good. M took the day off work today as he was too ill to go into work. Poor love, he's really not well! Hopefully he'll be better tomorrow as he has to fly out late afternoon. Apart from him being all stuffed up with cold it was nice to have him home!
That's about all, I'd better go and clean up the kitchen since I had a long nap this afternoon and never did the washing up...
-
Caro, you poor thing, I don't have any advice for you I'm afraid, obviously being new to this myself. I just wanted to say that you are NOT a failure, fraud or loser - please don't think like this. You know that every baby is different, what worked with your DD may not work with your DS, it is no reflection on you what so ever. Feeding 3 hourly is normal for BF babies - Grace still feeds 3 hourly during the day it's only at night that she goes longer. Also from memory, Grace was terrible with her feeding between 6 and 8 weeks, she would really fuss, she would absolutely crack it, fight the breast, scream until she was red in the face - just had to stay calm and relaxed and persevere (?sp), she still gained weight and once she hit 8 weeks she calmed down again, we put it down to the growth spurt that they can get during this time. She was also feeding alot during this time. I hope the losec helps and that you get some rest. Please remember that you are a fantastic mother (you have a gorgeous little girl to prove you know what you are doing).
Karina - lol, I did say no. It was just lucky that my excuse was we would be to squished with 2 babies and 3 adults, if Grace wasn't here I don't know what I would have said. OMG for your horrid night, fingers crossed for a better one tonight. How sweet of you DH, at least he acknowledges the work you do. I am a lucky one, my DH probably changes more nappies than me! He gets up through the night when he isn't working the next day and will change her nappy while I get ready to feed, as I said, very lucky.
Sonia - I thought the same thing that maybe I needed to spend more time trying to establish a routine at home. We are trying to get Grace used to sleeping in her cot in the day which will obviously come with time, it won't come if we aren't home to put her in her cot!! Problem is sometimes I just need to get out, I find the days that I am home alone all day, just grace and I, more tiring and stressful than going out! For some reason I find dealing with Grace if she is upset easier if there are other people around. Does anyone else feel like this? No advice on feeding I'm afraid, hope you get some advice.
Jo - thanks. How funny that you have the same photo. Very cute.
Oops gotta run...
-
Hello all. Just wondering, how often are you going to the CHN etc to get bub checked. i haven't been for ages as everytime i went they made me feel silly for being there. I want to go and find out about mother's group . Ariya has soooo much dribble at the moment and is sucking on everything that comes close to her mouth, she constantly looks like a fish opening and closing her mouth - so funny. i bet she is just busting to be able to put everything in there. Anyone else having a dribble fest at the moment?
Rachel - no we aren't hoping for any BFP any time soon. I haven't had any leaks from my nappies yet but ari has the chunkiest thighs :-)
Karina - OMG hope claire settles down for you and you have a better night.
Caro - hope you find some answers soon. ari gets a lot of wind while feeding and will often have a few good burps but I take her off about 2-3 times per side to bring them up and she will carry on but it is getting better.
Sonia - Most BF babies only go 2-3 hrs between feeds as the BM is digested so quickly until they start solids. As they get older though they feed quicker and it doesn't seem to be such a milk fest from sun up to sun down. Ari has just gotten to the stage where it's not all about food and she will wake up from a sleep and not want food straight away, she has stretched out her feeds from 1 1/2 hrs to 3 hrs occassionally but as my OB reminded me the more often they feed the longer AF will stay away.
As for me, still having pg symptoms but I'm hoping they are just left over or BF hormones or something. Going to wait until the beginning of June to take a test. fingers crossed it's BFN. Gotta run, sleep is calling
-
Sarah, lol at the dribble fest, Claire sucks anything that comes near her mouth, including my neck, my hands, her fist and thumbs... DHs clothes. He ends up with wet patches after he's been cuddling her and her wraps are always soaking in her drool. She does the cutest look when she's sucking on something though. To be honest, I havent seen the CHN since she came to my house for the very first appointment...
Caro, i hope you can find something that works. Youre not a failure at all, pllase dont think that you are.
-
Whoa! alot of talking here! i'm gonna try remember wat most ppl are talking about and do a general post....
About nappies - i started of with baby love - then went to huggies - n then tried snugglers!!! huggies are soo much better! back to huggies now!
Saram - yes - got a sling they are wonderful creations! yes she falls asleep on me - normally the only place she does - although she getting better.... not to worried bout the housework i've got a lovely cleaner! b/f is just a nagging pain - iz got good attachment...
Karina - i bet DD not only likes you but loves you too :) they can produce alot of noise hey???
Yikes look at the time gotta run got play date will be back with more later!

Hi Everyone, I'm new to these forums but am hoping that I will be able to get on here a bit more often. I have Kailee that was born 11th March, who has just got her first cold. Its so horrible seeing her all blocked up and not being able to do much to help her. I have been giving her a little bit of Demazin which seems to be helping get rid of some of the muck but she is still pretty grumpy and only wants her daddy, which sucks because he works and is away from home for 11hours. K is my first, and we have certainly had our ups and downs together, especially through the 6 week change. Definitely those first 8 weeks were the hardest for us to cope with, emotionally too after having problems with breast feeding and my milk stopping production. But finally now, we sort of know each other a bit better and are all getting along, it seems much more pleasant. I'm wondering though, was I imagining that the 6 week change was terrible or did others go thru it with their bubs too?
-
Just reporting that I'm still in the land of the living. I was pretty sick last night ...was really dizzy and ended up vomiting. I have no idea where it came from or if it was a bug or what. I woke Andy about 3:30am to get me a bucket and he stayed up with me rubbing my back. Oskar woke around 6ish and I wasn't too bad by then and fed him then he went to sleep in bed with me till around 9:30am and I was feeling even better again. Andy stayed home to help me which has been great. I really hope that Oskar doesn't get it if it was a bug though cos he wouldn't be able to tell me he was dizzy and that was the worst part about it :( He was great last night though and went between 9 & 10hours!! *touch wood* ... Anyway, going to go and have a bath now I think cos I'm still not feeling 100% and that might help.
-
Welcome Richelle... I hope K is feeling better soon. My K went through the 6 week change but it was more the fact he was feeding every 2 min.. well felt like that.
Cass I hope you feel better soon. I have also had dizzy spells, went to get my bloods checked but im all ok for iron etc so god knows, dr suggested more fluid intake so have been trying to drink more water and I havent been as dizzy, lastnight felt sick in the tummy but nothing came of that. Kaiden has a bit of a cold so might be getting it from him.. who knows.
Sarah & Karina: - K is also dribbling and eating anything he can get his mouth onto especially his fingers well his whole hand actually quite funny to watch.. hehe
Caro: Glad things are getting better for you and M.
K has been feeding 3hrly today so who knows I got him into that routine, i guess he is getting older and putting himself into it. He slept 10hrs lastnight and then fed him at 7am and went down from 8pm till 11am.. Good boy he is.. Still suffering with bad wind so have him on the infacol at the moment and seems to be doing good. Oh he is calling me for him 9pm feed..
Hope everyone else is well.
WA girls let me know when you all want to catch up. Will be nice to meet at a park before winter hits.
SOn
xx
-
OK after reading all of your post Ari and I have def failed sleep school :-) The longest she ever goes between feeds is 5-6 hrs but that is sooo much better than her brother who only ever made it to 3-4 hrs at night (a that was at 6mths old!) so I don't really mind.
Ozzy - hope your feeling better soon and fingers crossed Oskar odesn't get it.
Richelle - welcome. Ari went through the 6wk growth spurt too and u think we just crossed the 9wk one too. The 12wk one is a dooozey from what I remember from DS.
Karina - hehe on Claire getting everything in her mouth too.
Sonia - woohoo on the 3 hr feeds.
Made my first sling today, it's great made a few design changes so that you can carry your keys/wipes/purse etc without them poking into bub. Oh better go ari is finally asleep and I need to go and make scones for mothers night tonight at kindy - DS is soooo excited
-
Sonia, I'm glad that I'm not the only one... it was awful and I still felt a little off this morning but just drank a few glasses of juice, had some porridge ooh and a cry...lol...and felt a lot better by around the middle of the day.
Sarah, they say it's quite normal for Ari to be sleeping for only that long. She might just be a thirsty or hungry little girl.
Richelle, welcome to our little world.
Oskar gets the dribbles too...it's really funny cos then he blows bubbles. I think sometimes he tries to find his thumb but hasn't worked out that he needs to unclench his fist to get it to stick out...lol. He sucks on my shoulder ALL the time and I get a beautiful wet patch on it. I love it though cos he's so cute.
-
Just popping in to say Hi Cass!! :p
-
:cryinglaugh: pmsl Jessica. Hi honey!!
-
oooh I hope that's the start of new things for you Caro :D How exciting... I'm touching all the wood around me for you right now!!! Michael, your little twin is daring you to do it again!!
-
Caro, you must be feeling so much better after some sleep! Sleep is soooo underrated!
-
Thanks for your welcome.
I didn't know there was a 9 week change, and after the 6 week change I don't think I'm ready for another one just yet, so if the 12wk one is only a fortnight away I think I might foster her out till its over! She has her first cold, and the demazin drops are a godsend... though it is funny on how groggy she gets from them.
I do have a question though... my husband and I have a weird routine because of his work, so I haven't tried to get K into one, she just seems to have sorted out when she feeds and sleeps herself and we stick with that, is there anything wrong with her controlling her routine?
-
Hi Richelle and welcome. I think that there is really no other way than letting her sort out her routine and you slot in with it. The only routine we have is generally around feed times - that is we feed then play then sleep. The other routine is in the evening when we feed, play, bath then put down for the night. Other than that, she is in control. WE try to stick to 3 hourly feeds as a minimum but sometimes she has other ideas! My DH and I never really had a routine because of our work either so this semi routine is new to us!!
Caro, yay on the sleep, how did it go last night.
Ooops, a little girl want me.....
-
Hi everyone,
just a quickie, hope you're all well. Bought some more cloth nappies yesterday (while DH is away, the mice will play, or in this case, me!) 3 different pockets, 1 x haute, 1 x happy heiny and another one I can't remember. Looking forward to them arriving next week.
Welcome Richelle, your little girl is gorgeous! Whatever routine is working for you is best I think, and she will change it and demand that you change along with her so not much choice there I think!
Sarah would loe to see the sling, great idea to have more pockets on it to put stuff.
Going to pick M up from the airport tonight, yay! He's only been away two nights, how pathetic am i?!! Went to visit my aunt and uncle for lunch yesterday, first time they've met S, and of course they were suitably impressed LOL, then went to my sister's for dinner, so didn't have to cook all day!!
OK well S is sleeping - has a cold poor honey, have been dripping breast milk up his nose to try and help, I'd better get some housework done!
-
OMG Ariya has been a little darling today (not) She stayed at home with DH last night and downed 200ml of EBM (there goes my whole stock) then she woke every 2-3 hrs last night and this is the first sleep she's had today. She's been down for about 30min but we have to do the school run in an hour so she is going to be overtired again and we have little athletics tonight which i dread as it is nearly impossible to BF as they move around so much and she is sooooo heavy to walk around and feed these days. Add to that I've just discovered my next assignment is due in 4days - why didn't anyone tell me it was the 18th today and where on earth did the month of May go! OK now I've had my little whinge, thank you for letting me get that off my chest.
got Ari weighed today she is 6.055kg woohoo and 62cm long. Went to ask about the mothers group at CHN and was told she is too old :-) Apparently they are from birth to 12wks and as she is already 10wks it is too late. But did have a nice time at the ABA meeting today.
Will post a pic of the sling just as soon as I can get a) someone to take it and b) find the usb cord
Bec - buying nappies is addictive isn't it. I've only stopped as I want to start distributing them here and don't want to pay full cost if I can get them wholesale.
Richelle we had a very flexible routine with DS as hubby works different shifts so we are a bit all over the place. I didn't find it was a problem until DS was older. Ari just goes with the flow at the moment alrthough I am trying to change her bedtime routine at the moment as she is staying up late and sleeping more in the morning which is great now but not something I('ll appreciate in 6mth time ;_)
woops she's awake bye
-
Sarah, 6kgs for Ari that is fantastic!
Tate too is 6kgs ... and I just heard him 'squawk'! Back soon.
-
Bec, havent heard the b/milk up the nose before, how does it work? Tell me more!
Richelle, as long as you are in A rountine, doesnt matter whose it is! ;) Kailee is gorgeous btw.
Caro, v funny about sleep depravation. Soooo true though. And you know what the best part is, now that we are Mummy's, sleep will never be the same, not for the next 20 or so years anyway!
Cass, HI!! ;)
Sonia, 10hrs that is AWESOME! The longest Tate has gone is 7hrs. It's funny how different our bubbas can be huh.
-
Hi Everyone! Long time no post!
Well little muffy had her 2mth injections yesterday! She SCREAMED! I had a few tears myself! But we got her onto the baby panadol and she was ok. Today she was constipated but cleared the pipes this evening! She slept most of this avo and is back asleep now - I think she still might be getting over it - either that or she won't sleep at all tonight when I want to!
She is still waking at least twice a night but I'm over the whole sleep thing and as long as we sleep in till 9am I'm fine! Which is good!
She now weighs 5.04kg! She is putting on 200-300gms per week! Tubby Taia will be her new name I think! But as long as she's healthy I don't mind!
How is everyone else going? Sorry I haven't been in to catch up but she is doesn't leave me much spare time during the day!
xoxoxox
-
Well I feel better knowing that its ok not to set the routine! She is doing well, only waking once through the night and still having good sleeps during the day when we are just home for the day. Its sort of hard to believe that almost 10weeks has already gone by, and she has changed so much. She is on S26 now and has feeds 4 hourly, until the days where she wants to have half a bottle in between feeds as well as her normal feeds which can get frustrating because she barely sleeps on those days!
Reading through all your posts, its amazing to see how babies all around the same age are just so different. My girlfriends little boy was born the day before K and is just so huge compared to her, into 00 where she is still mostly in 0000 and they started just 50gms different at birth. Shows how invidual each bub is though.
-
Sarah - I can't believe Ari is over 6kgs!! I have to wait for my next appointment with CHN to see what Grace weighs, she feels VERY heavy! lol! That's a bummer about mother's group. If they don't notify you how are you supposed to know about it? I really need to get some more MCNs, having only 3 is no good and the flats are just not cutting it anymore, the always leak no.2s. The other problem is the bamboozle which I absolutely love takes FOREVER to dry. An hour and a half in the dryer still doesn't dry it!! Trying to hang out till we got to adelaide so that I can check them out for real.
Richelle - it is unbelievable the differences in weight gain and things that they do isn't it? We are all individual, shows why we really shouldn't compare babies!
Nat - great to hear from you. Aren't the immunisations horrid? Grace did a similar thing after hers, we gave her baby panadol and she slept the rest of that day away and the next day too.
Well...I tried a different routine last night and I skipped the late feed that I normally wake Grace for to see if it made a difference to when she would wake. So, I fed her at 6pm, play and bath then top up and bed. Normally I would have woken her at 10pm or so for a last feed before I go to bed. I didn't last night. She woke at 1.30am for a feed and nappy change then slept again until 6.45am. She used to wake between 4 and 5am if I gave her that late feed and then sleep again for another 4 hours. Not sure if what she did last night is better or not. Will try it again for another few nights and speak to DH who was at work last night and work out what to do!
Going to a friends house tonight for the first time since Grace has been born, can't wait to show her off! Her daughter has had shingles so we didn't want Grace exposed to that obviously but she is all clear now thank goodness. I suspect it is going to be a tiring night for Grace as my friend has 3 girls who are so excited about meeting Grace! We will do the best we can to prevent an overtired little girl.
I just hung the nappies out on the line to try and get them dry and avoid using the dryer...then it started raining! Bugger! Did the dash to get them in.
Have a great weekend ladies...

Updated photo's again for those of you that are interested.

Hi ladies,
having a lazy day today at home...
Weighed Claire yesterday and she is now 4.6kg... she feels so heavy now! then I read some of your little ones are 6kg! I'm going to get very strong arms I think.
Natty, good to hear eveything is going well!
Richelle, I'm not really setting my own routine either - I more let Claire set it for now. The last 11 weeks have gone sooo fast for me. It feels like only yesterday that I was still pregnant and hoping to go into labour soon.
Rachel, hope your night at your friends is not too full on. 5 hours of sleep is pretty good. We are still getting 3-4hours between feeds. Sometimes only 2 hours. Your website tells me there are no photos?
hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Had another yucky day today, don't know if I am just being oversensitive but DH and I are not having a good time at the moment which is very sad as we have been together 10years this June and it just feel like everything is falling apart. add to this DS chucked a huge wobbly about getting his hair cut today. i normally have to work him up to it about 3 days in advance but I forgot it was sat and we have our photos on Mon so after a huge tanty at home and then at the hairdressers I gave up and we both came home in tears.
Gottta go ari is up again

Sarah - I hope things get better with you and DH. Everything probably seems so magnified at the moment with a new baby on the scene as well as a 4 year old. I am sure things will settle down for you all soon.
Rachel - seems Grace has set a pretty good routine, I wonder if Nicholas would sleep longer if we didn't make him for the 'dream feed'. We usually feed him at about 10.30 - 11pm each night. He will go 4 hours between feeds during the day and sometimes up to about 5.5 hours at night. If we feed him at about 10.30pm though we only have to get up to him once in the night.
Cass – I hope you are feeling better.
Sonia – I am fine to catch up on a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. We are going to Busselton next Thursday to Sunday, so maybe the week after that?
Richelle – Hi! We had a change at about 7 weeks as Nicholas has reflux and the medication only started working for him at about then. I think he has only just had his first major growth last week and put on about 300g in about 6 days! Before this he was struggling to gain weight. I hope Kailee gets over her cold soon. As for routines, I have had Nicholas feeding every 4 hours during the day and our routine is basically set around getting my other 2 girls to school and then picking them up again.
Jessica – Hi! Sounds like Tate is going well. Glad to hear from you!
Caro – how’s Michael going on the losec?
Bec – I hope Sebastian is feeling better soon, poor darling. All these babies with colds!
Nat – It sounds like Taia is doing really well. Can you post some pics?
Well, Nicholas seems to be having some trouble sleeping during the day at the moment. I think I have been going out too much as he won’t sleep in his bed during the day any more! On the bright side, he does love his HAB which is a godsend as I am able to get things done around the house while he snuggles in and sleeps in it. He seems to really love the piano, so when I sit with the girls to do their practice, he settles straight away. Other than this, things are going great. He is putting on weight at a steady pace, he is about 5kg now. He had his 6 – 8 week check with the paed on Thursday and was all good and healthy.
Has anyone thought about contraception yet? I know those breastfeeding at this stage probably don’t have to worry too much, but I had my 6 week check the other day and my Ob suggested Mirena, which is an IUD. I have a g/f who had one fitted last year and thinks it is fab. I have all the paperwork and he has booked me in for June to have it fitted, but I am a bit scared! They fit it under a local anesthetic, or you can be knocked out completely. I know I gave birth with no pain relief, but am not too sure about this!
-
Sarah, i hope everything is ok with your DH and you. hope everything works itself out soon.
JoMarie, Yay that Nicholas's appointment went well. Thats great news. I have put a small amount of thought into contraception... but I am such a wimp we havent even had sex again yet!!! DH went out and bought some condoms the other day (lots of them too - he wishes!!!), so we will probably just use those as its not as if much action is happening around here right now lol. Maybe later on I might talk to my doctor about something else. Definately not mini pill though - i probably wont remember to take it! How long does the IUD last for?
-
With the contraception, as I had to stop breastfeeding so early, I went straight back onto my regular pill and have the alarm set on my mobile to go off at the same time every day so that there is no chance of forgetting it. I have also heard a lot of people talking about having the implant, but I was too chicken to find out about it!
I have another question... I stopped going to the early childhood centre and the parenting groups when K was about 4 weeks old as I got the blues really badly and couldn't handle K when she got overtired after being out. Since I have gotten over it, I haven't gone back, but I was wondering, do you have to go see the ECHN? If so, when? Because we are in a sort of small area and the centre basically had one nurse she never did a home visit or anything and so never told me how it all works, and I don't want to go see her as I'm not too happy with her.

Hi everyone.
You have all been chatting too much for me to do personals, I cant keep up!
Rachel and I met for coffee this morning which was lovely, we are becoming 2 'ladies of leisure' - not that we dont deserve it!
DH organised a night away for me and a girlfriend Sat night. He went well with the 2 boys and I had a 2 hour spa treatment, it was AMAZING! I have a new found love for facials!
Tate had his longest break between feeds ever last night. Last feed was around 7pm and he woke again at 3:30am, amazing! He was ready to party at 4am so I had to sleep on the couch with him until about 7am when DS #1 woke me up with 'I'm hungy!'. I have had 2 good sleeps in a row now, which has been fantastic for my head, especially those huge bags that were hanging around!
Tate had his needles before and he was a brave boy. Just a little cry after they went in. So far so good...
-
Rachel, do you have a chat program?
-
Hi ladies...
Had a brilliant time at our friend's house on Saturday night. Grace was a little angel - made mummy and daddy very proud! She slept when she was meant to, she played when she was meant to and she happily let everyone hold her over and over. One of the girls was holding her and her head slipped off her arm and Grace jolted slitghtly, she didn't cry! I was waiting for the scream and the sad face. She was very good, it was a great night.
Hi Jess...long time no speak! We definitely deserve to be ladies of leasure! No I don't have a chat thing. I think I can get MSN messenger somehow but would have to ask DH about that! I'm glad Tate was a brave boy for his needles, hope he is ok for you this afternoon. And by the way - you really didn't have bad bags!!!!
Sarah - I really hope you and your DH have some better times soon. It must be tough. If you ever want to talk or just get stuff off your chest feel free to phone or email me, happy to listen.
There's a problem with the link to Grace's photo's at the moment since I have made the photo's private - I am working on getting the new link up and running, hopefully get it done tonight.
Jo - we are just using condoms. I have a script for the mini pill but I'm not confidant that I will take it at the right time every day and don't want to risk anything just yet!! Hope Nic starts to sleep better during the day for you.
Well, I tried skipping the late feed again last night and we had success. Last fed at 7.30pm, bath, bed by 8.30pm, woke at 4am for feed, then woke at 8am. I hope that continues! All I have to do now is get myself sorted and go to bed earlier than 11pm! Can't even blame belly belly last night as couldn't get on, lol!
Went out a bought some cute little tights for Grace yesterday and a fleece dress. I have to wash them but can't wait to put her in it, so cute! We have so many dresses but needed tights to go with them otherwise she would get cold. It's hard to find tights to fit her yet but finally found a shop that did that had nice colours. We actually just wanted white tights as they go with anything. Also got some pink ones. Have to go and get her a nice outfit for the wedding in Adelaide on the 3rd. Does have to dress worse than the bride so that you don't take the focus off their day apply to babies, lol! That will be hard if that is the case - plus no one has seen her yet that will be there so I am afraid that she will be sharing the lime light, I know that the bride to be won't have a problem with this, luckily!
Oh well... better get off this computer and try and get some tidying done.

Shhhh I'm sneaking in again as my next assignement is due in tonight and DH is watching the kids so I can get it done. I only have 500 wds to go and they are my personal reflections so easy to do.
Things are a little better with DH at the moment we had a nice day out yesterday, took the dog to the beach and today we went and had our family photos taken - sooooo gorgeous. Haven't got them yet but just saw them on the screen. Made me really wish I had gotten those pregnancy phs taken as they use such nice lighting and everything. Oh well nothing I can do about it now.
Rachel - about the bamboozles, I find the beehinds are the same and they are getting worse the more I wash them, I guess they are becoming more absorbant which means they are absorbing more washing water as well. Yeah for Grace's amazing sleep, I don't even want to comment on Ari's but I am very glad someone made concealer for dark circles under eyes. Have fun shopping for a nice outfit for the wedding. I bought ari's christening dress the other day which is just stunning.
JoMaire - Ari only goes about 5 hrs between feeds at night too, pleased I'm not the only one. as for contraception we are using condoms until DH gets the snip but I will also be going back on the normal Pill for endo and cysts once we finish BF but at lease with DH getting the snip if I want a break from the Pill it won't be a problem.
Karina - hehe on being to chicken to dtd, you must have a very understanding husband. I have a script for the mini pill too but I know I would forget to take it and I just don't see how it can be effective when it doesn't stop you from ovulating.
Richelle - If you have a look in your baby book it will tell you the times when you should get K checked, you can just go to your GP if you don't want to go to the CHN. I had Ari at a private hospital and they run their own clinic there.
Jessica - so jealous about the sleep and the spa! woohoo!
OK better go finish this assignment off.
-
Hey Sarah, good luck getting your assignment in. Was so dissapointed. Went to put the bamboozle on and I put it under Graces bum, she wiggled, it moved slightly and then she wee'd on it! So couldn't use it then as I can't put a nappy on that I know is already wet when I put it on! So now it will probably be another few days before I can use it because I Had already done a load of nappies today, blah!
