Sarah - It's all good...
Photos of Ari are just gorgeous!
Cass - I've heard about the babies in arms movies but the one near me show crappy movies , I hoping 'Knocked up' is shown in babies in arms! because i'd love to see it!
Racheal - starting Grace on solids at 4months isn't a bad thing, even the farex box says from '4months', don't rule it out... Do what you feel is right for you an Grace, izzy is thriving on solids, but all babies are different...
Jessica - Thats good tate is sleeping through, tate's routine seems to be working for you nicely Good luck with your interview, Izzy does that to *stops sucking to look at me an smile then get back to sucking, its very cute*
Natty - I thought about doing the christmas shopping too... But don't know what to get...
Cass - wasn't All saints good last night, I got as emotional as Charlotte...
Racheal - Glad you had a great day! Happy birthday to you, I don't express often but also get tenderness afterwards...
Jomarie - I hope Nic gets better soon...
I pretty sure i got everyone, if i didn't sorry, hope you are well!
Izzy is doing really well lately! We go home on sunday!~!~!~ I can't wait to get into my own bed agian!!! and drive my own car! I love going on holidays! and it's gorgeous down here, but i also love being at home, and having 'my' things around me...
Caro - Taia is also in the crawler nappies and also has chafing because she has such big fatty rolls! LOL!
BIG NEWS - She has her first tooth coming through!!! I've noticed a white patch on her gum the last few days and I stuck my finger in her mouth to feel it this morning and it's actually starting to poke through!!!! OMG!!!
Jess, he woke up around 9:15 but had a top up and slept till around 6:30am so that was good!! He's having probs sleeping during the day today as well so a bit grizzly at the moment.
Sarah, PSML at fancy clothes... how cute is he!!
Awww Jo, I hope Nic feels better soon and Keyt as well. Poor little mite... how did he sleep last night?? Any better??
Cass, I believe they show the same movie at all the cinemas... but you're right they were crappy the other week!! I sooo want to see that movie as well, how funny does it look!! OOoooooh I wanted to smack Zoe out on last nights episode, poor Charlotte!! I love Charlotte!! There's nothing better than going home and having your own bed and your own environment huh!!
OMG Natty!! I hope Oskar doesn't get any teeth for a while cos I am unsure if I'm brave enough to still BF with teeth!! I only BF'd Joshua till 5 months with no teeth... so hmmmmmm. I can't believe how fast our little ones are growing and changing, makes me happy but sad at the same time.
Oskar and I went out this morning to our first mother's group morning tea!! He slept for half of it...lol. The mum's are all the mums I met when we had our baby meetings which was done through the hospital and government and they then go through setting up mother's group etc... so it was so lovely to sit around and chat not just about our bubs but other things as well. We're all excited about the HUGE toy sales starting up and one mum can't wait, she was so funny!! I think she wants to play with the toys... not that I can blame her, they have the BEST toys these days!! Next week we might be seeing a babes in arms movie... WOOHOO!!! Hopefully they have a good one on Anyway, Oskar is starting to chew on my arm (literally) so better go and feed him... he's tired and won't go to sleep, but if I top him up he will... MALE!! hahaha...
Cass - I can't wait to get the chance to play with the toys myself! LOL! Great news about your mothers group! I've been going to a playgroup near home and most of the mums are from belly belly which is really funny! It really helped me to be around other mums!
Oooh I haven't actually asked any of the mums if they're on BB... that would be funny!! What if there was someone who on BB you had disagreements or something with and they turned out to be in your playgroup?? I guess if any of the mums in our group were then I'd possibly know it with the names in my ticker kinda giving it away. Nat, I have to admit that I have "tested" some of Oskar's toys...lol.
A few of the mums are starting swimming lessons with their bubs next week!! While I would love to do this, for me it's too cold even though it's heated inside to 33 degrees. It's the leaving that lovely cosy warmth into the cold which would be too chilly for this little black duck! Also seeing as I haven't been 100% well for a little while it's probably not the best timing either. I really wanted to start swimming as early as possible though because we have a pool and quite a few of the houses around us also do. So, it does make me feel a little torn about when to start. Anyone thinking about this anytime soon??
Cass (blob) - I have no problem with starting solids when the baby is wanting/needing them, I don't feel that Grace is wanting them at the moment. If I felt that she needed food then I would give her food, of course. I want what is best for her. Poor little thing, I hope he feels better soon. They are showing knocked up down here at the end of July for the baby sessions, so hopefully you will get that up there. I thought the same thing about christmas shopping and then thought that I wouldn't have a clue what to get. Jess was giving me some well needed advice on toys appropriate for 9 month olds! I second how you feel about holidays - it is always great to get back.
Jo - did you have a better night last night? That would be horrendous - I would be beside myself if Grace was awake all night.
Nat - OMG on first tooth. We think Grace may be teething as well. She is so grizzly lately and always munching on things and has a white bit on her gums which feels harder than elsewhere. I was told that they can come out and then go back in a few times. DH's cousins son had a full set of teeth by the time he was 6 months old!! That would be a fast wheane of the breast that is for sure! lol! There is one girl in my mother's group that is on BB too.
Cass - I would love to do swimming lessons with Grace but I thought that they didn't start until 6 months so I haven't looked into it.
Hello again fellow night owls! Me, the idiot, is going to the Big W sale at midnight so I am entertaining myself until then. Having said that, I still need to express, better set up the pump......
Jessica - poo to you, lol!! I could only get 100ml out of both boobs tonight - I think I'm tired (why am I still on computer you may ask!). We should definitely go see that movie. I think it's the 28th July but I will check, shall we schedule it in? Have fun at the sale.
Cass – had a slightly better night last night, only waking 3 times (I think, it is all a blur!). I couldn’t imagine going swimming now either, even in a heated pool! I have already started buying for Nicholas for Christmas and the big toy sales don’t even start til next week! I can’t wait for Christmas this year, even though he will only be 9 months, it will be so fun!
Rachel – thanks! It is pretty horrendous, I feel like I have been on auto pilot for a few days, and I keep crying! I hate that! I am so over tired and emotional.
Nat – Wow on the tooth! Nic has had a white spot on his lower gum for about a week now too, but I can’t feel anything poking through. I don’t know if it is a tooth, but he is certainly dribbling.
Jessica – Midnight? I can’t imagine shopping at midnight. Are there many other people shopping at that time of night?
Caro – did you see my other post on Losec? I am going to do the same as you, use the bottle for 2 weeks, then chuck it out. I think this is what has made the last few days so horrendous. He seems a bit better today, and I have also upped him to 1 ½ ml twice a day as he has gained weight.
Well, I am crossing my fingers (and toes and legs!!) that we get a good sleep tonight. I want my beautiful sleepy boy back! Nic has discovered he has knees in the last day or two and is very excited to lift his legs up and grab them. At our post natal fitness class today, he was asleep in his pram, then when I walked past again (we do a circuit), he was straining to sit up and was checking everyone out! He was smiling at all the mums walking past him and loving the attention he was getting, so cute! Aside from that, everyone else in the house is sick with a cold (except me, thank god) and we are waiting for the school holidays to begin (Yay!).
Yawn, I have to start coming on here earlier so I'm not so tired when I try to reply! M has gone to bed already and so should I considering I've been up since 4 this morning, but I'm waiting for some soup to cool down so I can put it in the fridge. Plus I wanted to reply to you all!
Rachel, I'm having trouble getting much at all right now from expressing since S seems to be feeding lots. Somehow I think I should have started stocking up earlier! Happy Birthday, by the way!
Jess, did you pick up any good stuff at the sale? I like Big W, might make a point of going shopping there on Friday.
Cass (Ozzie) I want to start swimming with Sebastian too but won't be starting until he's about 8 months probably. But one of the mums in my playgroup has started already and Molly is only 4 months.
Nat, wow on the tooth! S bit me the other day (no teeth as yet) and it gave me such a fright I yelped, and he got scared and cried... so I ended up cuddling HIM because he bit ME - where's the justice in that?!! How is she going with her teething?
Jo, hope everyone is getting over their colds, sounds awful. I hate it when you just want a few more hours sleep and can't get it.
Jess, glad to hear Tate is sleeping better. Sebastian is starting to sleep longer during the day but seems to stay awake a bit longer too. Last night he woke around 12 but went back to sleep and stayed that way till 4... so hopefully we're on track to sleep through the night sometime soon too!
Cass, glad to hear Tassie is fun but I'm sure you'll be looking forward to sleeping in your own bed. I'll bet Izzy is having a great time too.
Sarah, thanks for the recommendation, I had been looking at that particular one. Some of them are so expensive!!
Took S to school today again to get some more materials for next term and he was fantastic! Left him in the small staff room with some teachers I know and he was there by himself for about half an hour and didn't cry once! Great, since he's been clingy with strangers lately, so I feel a lot better about daycare now. We're going for our first visit on the 18th.
I'm enjoying him so much lately! His personality really seems to be coming through, he's such a happy guy! You know that special beaming smile they do just for you? It's so lovely I'm going to miss spending all day with him when I'm at work, but I also was getting into it today and I think I'll like it. Also I think I'll appreciate him more!
Well, not much other news, playgroup is going well, I'm enjoying getting to know other mums and their babies. Now I REALLY should go to be as I think I'm having trouble focussing on the screen, a sure sign I should be asleep!
Rachel, some swimming places have programmes from 3 months and I think (Jess may be able to answer this) some have it from birth?? Too cold for me yet anyway.. like today it's blowing a gale so I couldn't imagine going swimming even in indoor heated!
I better go, Oskar is grizzling for a feed and I have to get changed yet cos Joshua has a haircut in an hour!! Lol @ me losing track of time!
Cass - I'd like to take her swimming because we have a pool too - but might start her in the shower first and see how she goes there!
Jo - That's exactly how Taia's tooth looked before it poked out! It's only a tiny bit out but that's ok by me!
Sasha - Taia is good at biting, twisting and then pulling her head back with my boob in her mouth!! I'm still using a shield so this takes away a bit of the pain but my god it hurts! I also think this will save me from the tooth for a little while!
Well I went to the BigW toy sale for a look around and saw some great things I'm going to put on laybuy next week (when the line isn't around 3/4 of the store!). I then went to Target and compared prices! A walker thingo I want to get her at Target is $99 - at big w it is $58 but on special for $38!! So I think I will end up doing better out of the Big W sale than the Target one coming up. I did manage to pick up a jumpsuit for $5! They had a few racks at 50% off!!
Nat, I tried a shower over Oskar's head the other day and he just sat there...lol. I don't think he really knew what to make of it but it certainly didn't bother him. I am having probs deciding what to get from the toy sales!! I saw those jumpsuits!! I nearly got a couple but thought he probably has enough of those and I shouldn't just buy them cos they're a great price. I did buy some socks though... he grew out of his socks!!
Well, Oskar is really starting to hold onto toys now and EAT them..lol. Very cute, but gross cos they get all wet and yuck! He's got the hang of one of his toys pretty well now as well, he knows if he kicks the base of it then it does things to amuse him. Bought him a bumbo yesterday... OMG HOW CUTE does he look sitting in it! I have added some new pics to the website, including one of him in his bumbo... all growed up!! Man, before I know it he's going to be running around outside playing footy and going to school!
Well I spoke too soon and Tate isn't sleeping as well as he was. Starting to cat nap again during the day, which means he is waking earlier for a feed at night. Oh, well, will just have to perservere.
I went to the Big W and KMART toy salse at midnight and got home after 4am!! Crazy, but I kinda did it for the thrill. I was able to get every single thing on my list. I am getting Tate the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn House, has anyone else seen that? I think it looks great, and perfect for XMAS. I also got him some Wiggles instruments, toy train, bath boat, and thats all I can remember. More stuff was for Aidan, he turns 3 on the 20th of December so I can get birthday toys too at these sales. I also got presents for my friends bubbas, some of those arent even born yet!
Both stores near me (a very fast growing, 'new family' suburb of Melbourne) opened at 12:01am Thursday for the start of the toy sales. I was at Big W first and there were atleast 100 people there.
OMG Jessica - you must've been exhausted yesterday! WTG on the pressies though. I'm still unsure of what to get! I'm seriously thinking about that house thing too though after you pointed it out. You are way too organised! Bummer about Tate only cat napping again.
Cass - Oskar looks very happy in his Bumbo. So cute!
Well, my DH spoilt me again yesterday. I had asked for a small digital camera so that I could chuck it in my bag and have it with me always just in case Grace does something worth photographing. We have a fancy digital camera but it is big and bulky and not practical to take out. He got me this fancy schmancy one that is about the size of a mobile phone and has so many features it's unbeleivable. Gave it a test run at mother's group today, very cool! Unfortunately I can't say Grace was as kind to me on my birthday. It started in the morning. She fed as per usual at 5.30am then went back to sleep. She woke at 8.30am which is perfect, I opened my presents then wandered off to her room to give her her feed. Not interested. Started crying, but happy once I stopped trying to feed her. 9.30 comes and goes still not interested in feeding - very unusual for Grace to go this long first thing in the morning. She starts yawning and rubbing her eyes like she is tired but still won't feed. Wondering whether I should be worried but decided no as she was quiet when I wasn't trying to feed her. Finally at 10.30 she started to get grizzly so tried to feed her and she fed finally. We thought goodo--oops to us. She would not sleep all day. She would fall asleep in our arms but wake when we put her down so when we got to my parents house at 6.30 she had had 30minutes of sleep all day!! Then she was full of smiles for my family, very cute but she was so so tired. Fed her again before trying to put her down for the night - she fed well, fell asleep in my arms very quickly, went to put her in cot - woke screaming. DH tried - same thing. Had to hold her during tea which we haven't done for ages. Then tried to put her down again and that is when all hell broke lose. Grace through the biggest temper tantrum I have ever seen her do. She was screaming so loud that her voice cracked! She was absolutely beside herself, shoving her hand in her mouth, wiggling around, screaming. This continued for 30 minutes. I ended up feeding her again hoping it would settle her, she fed well but as soon as it was over she was screaming again. I started to get worried that there was more going on than just being overtired as she had never screamed like it before. Needless to say I ended up in tears which obviously didn't help the situation. Even DH was getting a bit stressed which is very unlike him. We ended up packing up and leaving early as we didn't know what else to do. We had driven about 20 metres down the road and she was asleep!! It was terrible, so do not want a repeat of that again. I have put it down to her being so tired that she just didn't know what to do. Poor thing. I have scratches on my chest from where she grabbed me!! Today we have had more sleep but not in her cot, she really doesn't want to sleep in her cot in the day. So I have decided that I do not want a repeat of last night, so as long as she sleeps - be it on the couch, on the floor or in her rocker, I don't care during the day, as long as she sleeps!
Oh dear, I have blabbed on. Sorry about that.
Had mother's group again today - a wonderful array of food was again served. Grace was such a good girl, full of smiles then slept on the couch for an hour and a half! Bliss. Out for dinner and a movie tomorrow which should be nice. Hope everyone else is having a good day. Enjoy your weekend ladies.
