hehe, i saw it with another forum i'm in! I'm like awww i found out this time last year i was pregnant, even got an ultrasound around this time last year!!! Brings back alot of emotions... But me and Dp are waiting untill i finish uni !~!~
Hello....Grace woke again last night but this time at about 2.30am. This I can cope with if she goes back to sleep till morning. Which she did after an hour and a half of crying! I'm going to try a dream feed tonight and see if that helps. Poor DH is getting quite stressed by it all - which is bizarre because normally it is me that stresses.
Finally contacted the university that I completed a postgrad course with a few years ago but which never received a certificate from them. I need the certificate if I want to apply for some casual work as a nurse. Turns out I was discontinued from the system instead of showing that I had completed the course! So I have to write a letter to someone who has to do this and that before they can change me so that I can be seen as complete and get my certificate! What a dibarcle (?Sp). Anyway, have written the letter and will get it in the post today (if I don't do these things straight away they take forever - that is why it has taken me 3 years to find out this happened!lol!).
Off to mother's group shortly - hope everyone else is well. Is everyone having crappy weather or just us! Speak soon.
Rachel, hope the dreamfeed helps Grace go back to sleep easier. lol about your course - some education places are so dumb arent they!
Took Claire to have her vax's today - poor thing got such a rude shock. One second we're cuddling, next thing she gets jabbed in the bum! But she is happy now and having a noice long feed. I was going to weigh her as well but the baby health centre was closed and the chemist took away the scales!
Rachel, great news about Gold Coast, and the certificate too, although its a shame they didnt have your correct record, how funny!
Poor DH, tell him to hang in there, Grace will have good and bad episodes for awhile just yet, then when she grows out of that, you will start having to worry about what I'm going thru with Aidan. Oh the joys of parenthood! My friend adds farex to her bubbas milk, maybe try that? Not sure how it is done etc but makes sense, instead of going straight into food from a spoon. I think I might start doing it when I think Tate is starting to show signs. Because he is such a big boy, just like his bro, I expect it sooner rather than later, but I'm quietly confident my machine-like BB's are doing the job for now!
I have another job i/view today, still waiting to hear back from the other one so if they are going to take so long, I'm not going to wait around. This one is 20hrs per week, nut sure about the pay tho, cant wait to find out!
Jessica, hope your interview goes well. Good luck! I've been looking for part time jobs but I havent applied for anything yet. I am a bit nervous actually to apply for anything. thanks I shall pass on your cuddles to Claire She has been on boob for like 45 mins but she's now just sucking for comfort i think. Its been a big day!
Sarah, how is your uni study going? My hubby has decided he is going to apply for his masters and do it while working full time!
Rachel - I started Jas on solids at 5 months as was the time to start back then. My sister started her bub just before 4 months (with advice from her GP and CHN) and her little man is going great! I think a lot of the research has shown links to bowel cancer at a late age (like 50+). Every baby is different and has different needs, so you really need to go with what you are comfortable with. I started Jas on Rice cereal, but it took her a good 4 weeks to get the hang of it! Goo dluck with your decision anyway, and do what works for you.
Karina - was it Claire that has't been sleeping? Nicholas went through about 10 days of this just a little while ago too. He was waking every half an hour from about midnight onwards, and crying hysterically, it was exhausting. I tried everything - wrapping him tighter, the grobag, a heater, extra feeds during the day... in the end, I don't know what worked, but he is back to sleeping through again!
We will be getting needles next week too, yucko! At least when I go to the GP, the nurse also comes in and they give two at a time so he only gets one shock. School holidays are going great. The girls have been keeping busy with activities and craft stuff at home. They are doing a Bunnings workshop tomorrow, and have a few things booked in for next week. The time is going really fast though, I can't belove it is Friday already!
Rachel, is it possible your friend wasn't as far along as thought?? Either way, I am still surprised at the pushing for formula they've been doing to her. I hope it all comes good and her bubba is healthy.
Sarah, I soooo know what you mean. Just the other day I was talking to Andy and the girls in my mother's group about it and how I'm not sure if I could cope with the dirty nappies if I had m/s again. *sighs*... I miss the feeling of approx 7 mths pg... not too big to be too uncomfy but big enough that ppl know you're pg and it feels good too. I LOVED how that felt... however right now I have Oskar on my lap.. he fell asleep while having a chat and I think ... how would he fit on my lap for these beautiful snuggles we have and that makes me sad to think he wouldn't have snuggle space What a dilemma!! BTW... I think that subconsciously you haven't changed your avatar cos that's what you really want Hopefully it will happen for you soon
Cuddles to Claire!! I hate doing the vax thing... *sighs* poor little mites.
Jessica, good luck!! I spoke to a lady the other day from an agency and told her that I'm happy to do work companies wish to outsource. Problem is she said that usually is accounting type of work... bugger me I HATE maths!! pmsl.
Yup, I found out around this time last year also that I having a little beachball... and what a joy he is turning out to be.
Well, today, I FINALLY got around to buying paint... I wanted to get Oskar's hands and feet done (those plaster ones they do) but it's very expensive! So I had an idea a while back of buying canvas from $2 shop and some paint and doing hand and feet prints... then I thought... hey it'd be cool to have all of our hands and feet on it... so I bought a fairly large canvas and today bought the paint... it's gonna look SO cool! I've painted the canvas in an orange, but not neatly or to the edges and over the weekend we will do the prints. I can't wait to see it finished! I'm not sure if I should do Oskar when he's asleep though...lol. This afternoon we went on a BIG walk... about 4 km's!! Took about an hour and I drank about a litre of water on the way as well, imagine how much more if it'd been the middle of summer!! Ahhh I love how he's sleeping sitting on my lap right now...hehe. He's sitting up, facing sideways and leaning against me... so adorable!

Wow what a yuck day. Ari has been whinging all day which is so unlike her. We had a reasonable night last night - thank god or I think I would have fallen in a heap today. I went out and bought another rocker today (DH doesn't know yet) but I need something with handles to carry her around in when Im at nappy demos or places with DS as the pram is too bulky and I can't it properly with the HAB. I know it's only a few months until shes crawling and stuff but this is big enough to give her a polace to sleep even when she is older and it folds flat in the car . While we were there I had to buy her some new toys as she just loves them. DS was never really into toys so we don't have a lot.
Rachel - bummer about the muck around with the course, hope it all gets sorted soon. Hope mothers group went well, sorry but our weather here is just gorgeous up here, nearly warm enough for summer dresses again
Cass- oh yes MS with dirty nappies would be bad esp as I have ms the entire time. We have pretty much agreed now not to have anymore and I am happy with the decision although still I guess mourning not haveing anymore.
Cass_blob Hey I just realised we had a scan around the 19th ish too I really didn't think one year later we would be sitting here with this little bubba as we thought we were having a miscarriage
Cass, i loved being about 7 months pregnant too!! I had to giggle at no lap space when 7 month pregnant too! I had my baby shower a week before Claire was born and my neice kept wanting to sit on my lap, but there was just no where for her to sit as my Claire Belly was in the way lol!
Sarah hope Ariya sleeps well tonight. We have a rocker too, its very handy for when we go out to someones house!
Jo, yeah Claire is not sleeping really well at night at the moment. I hope its just a phase!
I am watching hubby playing with Claire - I found a bright orange ribbon which is shiny and she LOVES it when we just wave it around and drape it over her face. So funny to watch! Claire is now lifting her legs and head when we place her on her back, like she is trying to sit up. So cute!
Hello ladies...I am so tired tonight. I haven't felt like this for ages! Mother's group was good. Another good spread - they had a delicious broccoli and leek soup which was really yummy. We are starting to get rather comfortable with each other and the conversation is getting a lot more relaxed and not always about babies - which is nice sometimes to talk about other things .
Karina - poor Claire, I hope she has a good night and her poor little legs don't get too sore. Thank goodness that is over for another 2 months. I hope she sleeps better overnight for you. Another baby at my mother's group, born the same day as Grace, has started waking overnight this week too. So maybe it is just a 4 month thing - fingers crossed it improves soon . How cute with the ribbon. The trying to sit up thing is really cute to watch don't you think. One day (sooner than we think), they'll actually sit up. They are growing up so fast.
Sarah - aaawww how nice, weather warm enough to wear dresses again. It is so so cold down here it just slaps you in the face as you walk out. Don't know if i'd cope with the humidity that you get up there though. We have a rocker for Grace with handles that we occasionally put her into sleep and then carry her around if we need to. She doesn't like being strapped in though so have to really watch her, especially after doing that one roll.
Cass - that is what DH and I thought when we saw the baby as she does look prem. I spoke briefly with her today (must have caught her at a bad moment as she was rather short on the phone) and baby lost weight yesterday but was putting it on today and is probably going home tomorrow. They are breastfeeding now (2 hourly, glad those days are over!) but still giving occasional top ups of formula even though my friends milk came in today. I thought that was odd but who knows. Hopefully next time I speak with my friend she will be in better spirits. Day 4 so maybe she is feeling a bit overwhelmed. Ewww morning sickness and pooey nappies, no thanks! What a great idea with the canvas. We were going to get prints done too but they are so expensive. You'll have to let us know how it turns out.
Thanks Jo, we are trying everything else first! I'm hoping that this is just a phase as well and she will start sleeping through again. You have a good weekend too.
Jessica - how did the job interview go? Interesting what your friend does. The MCHN actually mentioned the other day when I was talking to her about solids not to make the farex so runny that they can drink it, she said to make it a consistency so that they learn to chew, or something like that. Both DH and I can't remember exactly what she said but it was soemthing along those lines. Good luck though, I hope Tate likes it when it's needed.
Will be doing the dream feed just before going to bed. Fingers crossed it helps and also hope that she doesn't actually wake up!!
What time do you girls put your little ones down for the night? Do you have a night routine? We have a night routine of feed, sit up and play for 30 minutes or so to let feed settle, bath, rest then sleep. This is done anytime after 5pm depending on what time her feed falls. It has been working well until this week so now I'm wondering if 5pm is just too early for Grace with her growing needs. hmm, be interested to hear what everyone else does.
OK I feel terrible, I just gave Ari some panadol in the hopes of getting a moments peace and a feed please oh please let her sleep just for half and hour.I have3 invoices to do and there are nappies ALL over the house as I had to do up lots of orders today - I really want to tidy it before DH gets home but I can barely move I'm so knackered from all the screaming today.
In answer to that :-) RAchel no we don't have a very good night routine enerally it goes something like have dinner 6pm, bath Ari, bath Xanny, Ari naps while I read books to Xander than she wakes for 30mins fed and try to get her to bed (In other words - put her down, cries, put her down cries, put her down cries - give in let her sleep on the lounge, put her down about 11-12am whenever I go to bed) So no it's not working for us but with DH at work most nights I can't find any other solution.
Karina - ohhhh at the ribbon, you'll have to get some video of that.
OK going to do something useful now, ohh just had to ass Ari starts swimming lessons tomorrow - very excited (well I am anyway)
SArah - hugs - I hope you get some rest. Seems like the nappy bucket is doing really well and keeping you very busy. Must be hard to establish a routine when you DH is not always there and you have to fit in with Xander too. How exciting about swimming lessons. Can't wait to take Grace.
