Brooke, great to see you! Sounds like the kids are doing great I can't imagine seeing Oskar with a tooth yet...lol...they do look so cute when they get the first couple through though. I've been toying with the idea of TTC but not 100% certain if it the right time for us. Keep us updated on what's happening and everything.

Sarah, lol about Dr Harry... cos I HAVE thought about that... but then hmmm I don't want it on tv...pmsl. Yep, he's fixed. We've locked him downstairs for the past 2 nights...put up the gate so he can't get up, first night was ok didn't cry but he did last night, well early this morning. We'll see how this goes for a week and then reassess how he's adapted to it. It's so hard cos like you said Sarah, they're part of the family. I guess though when it really comes down to making the final decision the kids always come first.

Karina, if you're interested in the job then I'd go back and just kinda casually say... oh you know how you mentioned/said xyz about working here... were you serious?? lol. I would've said at the time though... oh are you serious?? hehe. That's just me though and yes I have got myself a job that way before. Have fun with the moving... I HATE moving but it's not as bad if it is someone else..lol.

Oh Cass, I hope your friends little bubba holds off as long as possible. My friend was the same, she had early labour twice I think?? She ended up going full term! I have everything crossed for your friend and if her bubba comes now then it's all crossed for bubba.

I just got cranky before. We're painting the spare room atm... well Andy is. Anyway, I wanted to help. Oskar was asleep so I went to help but ended up feeling TOTALLY like I was just in the way I wanted to do something other than what I do every day - look after Oskar (which I love), clean around the house, washing etc. I wanted to feel "useful" but in a different way IYKWIM? So I ended up just saying, forget it you do it and I walked away. He came to me just before and asked if I wanted to do some, but I said no cos I'll probably stuff it up anyway. He's like, no you won't and you're not in the way. I still said no cos now I'm just not in the right frame of mind anyway, so it's best if I don't. So, now I look like I'm chucking a tanty...lol. Nah, I just wanted to feel useful in a different way but instead feel worse than I did before. Oskar made me feel better though, cos when he woke up he gave me big smiles and snuggled for a bit of a cuddle. He's currently sitting on my lap making his funny little contented going to sleep noises... and I LOVE that.

Oskar and I went to the Bright Bots factory outlet sale yesterday. Everything for $5. Some things were 2 for $5! I got bibs - 4 for $10 instead of $10 each!! They're the "dry" ones.. fleecy backing so they don't get wet. I didn't see how well that could work until I washed them and OMG the backs are almost completely dry (feel only very slightly damp) and the fronts were soaking. TOTALLY AMAZED! Wish I had bought another 4 of them now. I added up what I got when I got home and I saved over $100 if I'd bought the stuff retail. Got the cutest hat... omg he looks adorable in it. He used it straight away cos I had him in the HAB and the sun was facing him when we were leaving, so on popped the hat. Weren't allowed prams cos too many would be in there otherwise. So now Oskar has some very cute and BRIGHT jumpsuits for warmer weather. I got him next size up.

Cass, thats cool about all the stuff you got at Bright bots. I love those factory outlets too! I can relate to you on the "feeling useful" thing. I mean, I feel useful looking after Claire all day, but its different to the kind of useful that my hubby is. The moving was ok. I didnt do much as I was watching Claire. Our friends also told us they are expecting another baby (although I already knew as I have been stalking her on belly belly for a couple of weeks, pmsl!!). I am interested in that job.. I think I was just confused whether or not he was serious. I might go back and see if he was serious or what.

Cassblob, hope your friend is ok and her bub stays put for another few weekd. Any news on her?

I am going out to the shops today to get my brother a pressie for his birthday whic is in a couple of days. Just waiting for my hubby to come home. Oh and I saw an ad on TV about a bra sale at myer.. hopefully its still on sale. I need more breastfeeding bras! My Bonds ones, while still is good condition and very functional are just plain boring and ugly!

Karina, lol @ plain and boring. I LOVE my bonds b/f bras. I tried different ones but didn't like them or how they felt. Thing I like about the bonds ones are they're like t-shirt bras so you don't get the lines etc. PMSL @ stalking.

I forgot to mention earlier... we have 4 month needles tomorrow @ 10:15am I mean I'm happy, but sad at the same time. It's such a mixed emotions thing to do isn't it. So we'll just hang at home after that. He was good last time, no reaction at all not even a red mark or anything. He slept more but that was it so I'm hoping that this time he will be the same. I'll do what I did last time - panadol about an hour after needles and then before bed. I was thinking about giving panadol before needles but I didn't do that last time and I don't want to change it in case IYKWIM? Anyway, off to fold more nappies...lol.

Hi Everyone - im still around, more reading than replying tho, just lazy!
(It wasnt until i logged on that i noticed a box saying that that i havent posted for several weeks that i thought id better!)

I see everyone's doing pretty well, nice to hear all the "little ppl" are doing good too, i try to read this thread at least once a week but you all talk so much its hard to keep up!
Emily's doing really well, just started rolling from her belly to her back but not the other way yet, although she also loves sitting up herself - with the wobbles - very cute! And standing on me - thinks its the funniest thing! My fav thing is the laughing tho - love to hear babies laughing! She talks all day long, going to be like her sister - chatter box. No teeth yet - thankfully!

How many babies in here with teeth?
Am i the only formula feeding mum here?

My DD just had her 13th birthday on friday then a party last night - i feel like ive been out all night, really need sleep after getting up to tell them to be quiet every hour - but they had fun.

Well, must be off to cook some dinner for the crew..

Hi all, Relay for Life was fun, DS had a ball and now everyone is in bed :-) Ari stayed in the HAB most of the night and then DH let me sleep (which is why I'm not in bed hehe). Anyhow we are home, Ari has been screaming most of today which I think is partly due to being overtired and partly due to them darn teeth.

Cass_blob - hope your friend is OK. Fingers crossed for her. Is it her first?

Cass - Oh wishing I was in Brissie for the bright bots sale!

Shell - good to hear from you. WTG emily on the rolling. Ari's had some bottles of formula as we need to use it up and I want DH to have some experience settling her at night to help with their bonding and I am too lazy to express.

Karina - have fun at the bra sale. I so need new bras as some of mine don't fit right and I know I'm going to end up with a blocked duct one of these days.

    Hope all are well

Cass, hope little Oskar is not too cranky after his needles! Claire was pretty good, and didnt behanve any differently afterwards except for the usual crankiness for a few minutes until she forgot! I got told by my GP not to give her Panadol beforehand. I didnt end up buying bras. They only had the Berlei and Lovable ones and I dont like them. Sticking with my bonds ones for now. They come in nice colours now though so might go back, but we were in a hurry and I didnt have time to try anything on. I did try on an Elle one, and it was very pretty but it just didnt sit as nicely as the Bonds.

Shell, good to hear from you again and great to hear things are going well. I love hearing babies laugh too! Claire hasnt got teeth yet.

Cassblob, wow on Izzys first tooth and thats great she wasnt too cranky. I hope your friend is ok and they look after her and her baby better.

Sarah, sounds like you had a nice day out.

Went out for dinner tonight for my brothers birthday. Since he turned 21, he has been counting backwards for each birthday, so he is now 16 lol. (he is actually 26 though).
Claire got lots and lots of cuddles and played with her toys, had some booby then slept in her pram in the restaurant.

WOW Cass... you have lotsa new bubs around ya huh!! You know, my friend had her bub at Logan and she was told NOT to go back there again if she has another. They have the worst reputation apparently. She was also in and out of the birthing suite in prem labour over a course of 3 days I think and then they SENT HER HOME!! They were idiots seriously... I was about to go there myself and yell at them! I hope that your friend is going ok and her little princess is ok as well. WTG Izzy on the tooth! They look so cute with the first little tooth poking up..hehe.

Shell, great to hear from you and that Emily is doing well. Oskar hasn't rolled yet, but I'm not sure if I just haven't really put him in a position to really have much of a go at it...lol. Ahhh well, I'm not in a hurry anyway.

Sarah, they had the cutest hats!! I will take a pic one day soon and let send it to you. If I had known earlier that it was going to be on I would've had a chat to you and picked some things up and sent them to you. I only found out on Friday arvo though.

Karina, thanks... he was pretty good actually.

Caro, I got your email, thanks hun.

Intersting fact on rotovirus: I did also post this in the rotovirus thread Caro started... but JIC some haven't seen it I thought it pretty important to share this. Doc brought it up and says… you’ve probably heard about the new vax and I said oh the rotovirus.. he said yes. I said well he was born in March and he goes yep so he won’t be getting it. He said he actually spoke to the people who make the vax and it is NOT safe at all for babies over 12 weeks old. Apparently it is a course and it HAS to be done before 12 weeks because if they’re older it has SEVERE side affects. He has a 6 month old and said this is why she isn’t getting it. It’s NOT an annual vax like the flu shot and like someone on BB said, it’s a once only course which needs to be completed before 12 weeks.

Oskar didn’t cry for the first needle, whimpered a little on the second and had a cry on the third. By the time I put his pants back on and picked him up he stopped and even smiled at the receptionists…lol…little charmer!! He’s asleep now but that’s probably more from being tired as he only had about 30 mins sleep between 8am and 12 cos he was just dozing before I had to go to docs and then he fell asleep in the car on the way home but it’s less than 5 mins…lol. He’s had some panadol and a feed and seems to be fine. He's just woken up and he's all happy, so that's good

I was going to say something else, but in between typing and going upstairs to get Oskar I can't think what it was!! lol. Oh well, better go and hang out washing and clean my kitchen.... well the crap which has accumulated on my bench and is peeing me off!! Have a wonderful day everyone

    Thanks caro...
Cass - I agree. I live near logan and when i went to see the doctor around here, he's like you'll be going to logan, i'm like 'hell no' So went up to my mums and saw my childhood doctor, and he also said "like hell, your going to logan (he's a really kewl doctor) so he got me into ipi... And i gotta say i had the best birthing experiance an prenatel care because of them... they were fab...

But i also had another friend go to logan, first baby, had GD, 6hour labour, lost 1litre of blood, tore front to back - side to side, was out the next day, and didn't have a clue what she was doing, also was in that much pain! she couldnt walk...

I yelled at the doctors yesterday when they said there going to send heather home if it slowed down again (after she just got through telling them the pain is getting worst) They don't listen there! She is still going 2.30pm, i'm getting worried, coz she been bleeding for 3 days (you don't bleed for no reason?!?!) is dilated, in alot of pain and they are doing nothing! Heading off to see her soon, might get in some more argeuments with midwifes hehe!

Thats good to know cass about rotovirus, i hadn't even thought about getting it because it wasnt reccomended to me by my doctor...
Just got some togs that fit Going swimming tommorrow.
Okay i must go catch ya

Cass... oh I'd forgotten about the tearing.. my friend tore 3 ways!! Sides and up and down... poor thing was in so much pain after it wasn't funny!! Is there anyway your friend can go to another hossy?? I know it wouldn't be an easy thing to do... but just a thought. Like call ambo and get them to just take her!

Cass_blob, that is terrible about your friend. OMG I can't believe they aren't doing anhing to help her! I hope she has her little bubba soon and they are both OK.

Cass - OMG, nobody told me about that with the Rotovirus, Ari is due to have her second course this Thurs. I was told to give it to her at 2mth and then 4mth? What are the side effects, there is nothing in the literature

Cassblob, gosh the hospital doesnt sound like they are doing much to help your friend.. I hope she is ok and they actually do stuff rather than passing her around. I agree with Cass, call an ambulance for her and get them to take her to a better hospital! They sound a bit incompetent. I mean she's dilated, in labour!!! Stupid hospital.

I wasnt told anything about having the rotavirus vax for Claire. It wasnt even mentioned to us and there is no info about it in the Blue Book. Scary how people get told such different information about it though.

oh tearing is horrid. I had three tears too (peri and both sides) and I couldnt sit down for ages. They wanted to do an episiotomy and I'm glad they didnt because i think I would have ended up with more pain. Then they gave me a panadol and told me to sleep. Panadol?? WTF??

I am more in love with Claire everyday. She is changing so much now. Almost everyday she seems to do something different! She has just started trying to suck on her toes, lol.

Cass, they did the same thing with my friend!! Sent her back to ward a few times... she was so upset and frustrated and of course in pain. Get her out of there if you can honey!

Sarah, Caro has a thread on it and posted something she found off the govt website about it. The thread is under baby and toddler general discussion I think. All I can say is I've never seen a more serious look on my doc's face. I didn't get details as he was running behind even though he would've told me ... he did say yes twisted bowel (as Caro had said) and even worse. He said they are EXTREMELY severe side affects and the course has to be completed by 12 weeks. I can't remember why... ??

Karina, it's only a new vax and only being given to newborns is what my doc told me. Anyway, all our bubs are too old so we will just have to make sure we try to keep them away from this if we know ppl with it. Lol @ panadol... I know... did nothing huh! I was given ice to put there as well. They had these ice thingys which looked a bit like those ice blocks in the plastic tubes. The ice also helped numb it... lol. Awww they look so cute when they try to suck their toes... funny how it becomes really gross as they grow though huh! Oskar has discovered that something hangs between his legs... PMSL... he has started to feel his skin, his thighs and then he found it....!! It's only when he's naked, so pretty much in the bath but I have to watch him when changing him cos his hand has come pretty damn close to getting dirty IYKWIM. I soooo know what you mean about falling more in love... OMG I just look at him in awe sometimes.... ahhhh!!

Well, we had an unsettled night last night... every 2-3 hours. I am thinking it was probably the needles. Funny thing, where the bandaid was on the leg he got 2 needles - one spot went red and has a bit of a lump under it - smaller than pea... anyway, it's only the spot where the bandaid wasn't covering it properly. I think I will need a caffeine boost soon!! I had one this morning and usually only allow myself up to 3 in a 24 hour period... man I hope that's enough...lol. Other than that, he's been pretty good.

A while ago I found a piece of paper with a phone number on it... from a lady I used to work with almost 10 years ago. We became friends but lost touch after a few years. Anyway, I'd put it on the kitchen bench and it ended up under other crap which was accumulating on my bench. Yesterday I got so cranky with my bench being the dumping ground I cleaned it off while Oskar was sleeping. It looks great now Told Andy he's in trouble if he puts crap on it...lol. Anyway, I came across the number and I thought I'd send a text and just said Hi, it's Cass if you remember me... just stumbled across your number... blah blah. Then I thought oh hang on it had other more recent stuff written there and I thought it might have been the number of a lady off ebay I bought something off a little while ago and her name was the same so I sent another text saying oh sorry wrong person...lol. Well, turns out it was the RIGHT person cos she called me this morning! I'm still getting over it atm...lol. So, we're going to catch up next week I think. She's got 4 kiddies now, only had one back then.
