Hi everyone...sorry I don't get on here much anymore, too many things to do and not enough hours in the day! I often take a few minutes to read how everyone is but never have enough time to respond! Dinner is almost ready so unfortunately this is another time of quick hello's!!
It sounds like everyone is doing pretty well other than the occasional hiccup. We are doing really well. Really can't believe that Grace will be 6 months on Saturday. It still seems like yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital. Well she is rolling everywhere now, she won't stay in the one spot anymore! Solids are going very well. She absolutely loves her veges (she's had potato and sweet potato so far and we will give her broccolli tomorrow). Fruit is not going so well...I read somewhere to start veges before fruit as fruit is sweet so they will definitely love it, well that's not the way it is for us! She gagged on banana - the taste not because it was to bitsy or anything, poor little thing so we're leaving that one alone for a while! She also gagged on pureed pear but we persisted for a couple of days and we are mixing a little tiny bit with rice cereal and i think we are getting somewhere. Today my mum gave her a piece of apple for her to suck/chew on and she loved it so I got one of those net things that you put whole food in that someone mentioned on here so i'm sure she will love that! The down side of this whole solids thing is the stinky normal looking poos! I want non smelling breast feeding poos back!!lol. She is almost sitting on her own, she can sit for a short while unaided but as soon as she goes to grab something she topples over as she mucks up her balance. This is a problem as she grabs everything! nothing is sacred and everything is edible! It is so funny. She is just so adorable! I love her so much!
Just quickly...
Cass - I hope your back gets better, it isn't nice to have a sore back. I also hope that you find a nice new home for your cat, that would have been a very hard decision but his behaviour is not nice for you to have to deal with.
Ali - I hope Emy gets better soon. I had been a bit under the weather for the past week and was really worried that Grace would get it, but *touch wood* so far so good.
Sarah - I'm glad Ari is doing better for you. You may have mentioned this, but have you tried different brands and types of formula?
Cass - I hope Izzy is getting better, not nice when they are sick.
Sorry it is just a quick one but glad to hear things are going relatively well. Take care and speak soon.
Hi Everyone!!! really quick hello, dinner just about ready and I'm in a hurry! Work going ok, but I am completely exhausted, had gastro then a nasty cold and two weeks later am still trying to shake it. S still enjoying daycare. 4 weeks to go and then holidays!! Yay, can't wait. Hope you're all well, look forward to catching up with you in October.
Best,
Bec
:hello: :grouphug:
Im so sorry I havent posted for sucha long time.. a really really long time. Being back at work is definately hard when it comes to fitting other things in, im doing 20hrs per week at a little legal firm in fremantle which is only 10kms from home. When I get home all i want to do is hug and kiss Kaiden so i dont get on the computer much.
Everyone seems to be doing well, although a lot of the bubbies are getting sick only the first of many times i guess as they get older. Kaiden will be 6 months on Wed, very exciting. He is still sleeping on his belly and crawling to the top of the cot so his head is hitting the end of the cot so i ahve to go in there and pull him down to the bottom. He is sitting up on his own for about 2 minutes which is quite good, eating solids and as the same as Rachel i have given him apple in his net thing which he loves. he has a huge scream on him, sometimes i think the neighbours in the next suburb can here him.. hehe Mark had a wonderful fathers day yesterday. he was proud as punch. Next big event Christmas, and i cant wait will be a very special one.
Im going well, all the weight i lost just after i had Kaiden is now back on and im struggling to loose it, i go to the gym three times a week but still not helping, i guess it doesnt help that i am still eating crap all the time. Its so hard to loose this baby fat..
Well ebtter go as im at work.
Cheerio to everyone, im sorry again i havent been on and cant individually post..
Ali i hope Emi is feeling better, and has gotten rid of her cold :)
Sarah omg that would of been scary!
Cass - Izzy is the same gets half way there and stops ! But she is sitting now :) I hope your back is okay!!!
Rachel - glad grace is doing well :) Sounds like you ahve your hands full :)
Sasha - Life your end sounds hectic :) Slow down and hope you feel better soon hehe :)
Sonia - Glad to hear from you!!!
Izzy has got rid of her cough finally! she sounds so much better, and is so much happier too! WE are even dearing to go back out in the public tomorrow, to pick up one of her christmas presents (it came through raincheck got the letter to pick it up yesterday)Izzy can sit for liek a whole minute or two its very cute, she sits there smiling :)
I'm 21 in 27days (1oct) hehe! I can't wait! Trying to organise my 21st party now, Im having a lovely day in the park with family and friends, very childrens orientated, which is what i wanted... I keep getting asked why i am not having the whole big **** up i had planned 3 years ago, lol, lets say priorites have changed ~ i had a few friends over drinking the other night, and i was like this is soooo not my scene! i'd rather go laydown and watch izzy sleep (so thats what i did, hehe)
Awww - and goo look in the woohooo forum page - some good news of mine in there :)
Caoi!
Cass_Blob - I congratulated you in there, but will do it here too! YAY!!!!! Are people really expecting you to have a huge **** up when you will have a 6 month old baby? Are they insane? What crazies... Just do whatever you want to do... My 21st would have been a lot better if it had been just a day in the park - way too much alcohol involved for everyone present...
I think I said previously that I was going to wait to start Emy on food, but then changed my mind. Have been giving her Farex for the last week, and then today gave her some pumpkin. The first mouthful she screwed her face up, but after that she LOVED it, and couldn't get her mouth wide enough to get say she wanted more. And the only bit that she really spat out was the last mouthful, which I think she was just full - so it wouldn't have been that messy except that J interrupted me for 2 seconds when she was ready for a mouthful, and then stuck both of her hands in her mouth. She was sooooooo cute though covered in pumpkin. J took some great photos of her all proud of herself... so cute!!!
Hi all, assignment finished, so now i have to deal with the housework aftermarth. Ari has conjunctivitus - I have no idea where from. and she is not a happy chappy.
Ali - glad to hear Em likes her food!
Bec and Sonia good to hear from both of you again!
Cass - i think your 21st sounds great. Mine was quiet also as i had horrible ms. We went for lunch with family (only meal I could keep down) Just think in a few years your friends will be coming to you for advice because they will be having kids and settling down too.
Rachel - Can't remember what was on the other page but hello!
Thanks for the congrats! im pretty sure he's doing it for my 21st but i cant wait that long :) i wanna marry him now! just so i know he's mine for ever! never wanna loose him again... I woke up this morning pretty late 9.30 (izzy didn't sleep to well last night) so we slept in, and my partner had cleaned the house spotless, even did my washing... :)
My 21st is finally comming together, had a few hiccups with dates because i had it for the sunday and my mother complained said she wanted it the saturday so i changed it ot the saturday so now its saturday... and she rang me up last night, and complained again saying she might not be able to make it on the saturday! I felt like grapping her throught the phone and slapping her!but anyways its saturday and staying that day! Ive got the tables reserved at the park, 2 friends doing decorations, just gotta send out hte rest of invitations (everyone knows when it is) and just gotta think about food... aghhh...
Anyways im totally off subject this is a pregnancy/baby site! so i'll get back to that matter! My best friend had a gorgeous baby boy yesterday afternoon! 7p13oz, and is absolutly gorgeous! I didnt go in with her, whcih was originally planned because it happen so fast... But shes healthy hes healthy and i was the first one that got to see them both! And today she was very sweet and made me cry! She needed some pawpaw cream and i asked her if she'd like me to get some for her, thats a good reason to see bubs! and she turned around and said i never need an excuse to see them im welcome anytime, i'm Chris's adobted mum! and that made me cry! ohh, meant so much!
anywho im really rattling off today! a whole big post about not much of anything! lol! so im going to go and get ready for Izzy's swimming lesson! Ta ta :) :)
Ali, it's so cute when they are all covered in food - at the start...lol... then it's just downright messy! You'll have to share some of the pics though, sounds gorgeous.
Sarah, WTG on the assignment! Oskar has had conjunctivitis twice and I'm the same as you, no idea where he got it. Squirt her in the eye with booby milk - works sooooo fast!
Cass, you're allowed to talk about other stuff too ;) That's what we're here for...hehe. Awwww so you're a mummy 2 times now :) How little huh, it's so hard to remember them being that tiny.
Nothing too interesting going on here at the moment. Oskar is pretty good and cheeky too...lol. ummmm nah, that's it for now from me. Lotsa love to all you mummies and bubbas.
Hi everyone! I have been out of action for a little while as I have been doing some uni work. I get on and have time to read everyones posts, but no time to write!
Nicholas is doing really well. He is gorgeous, and loving his food. He is having 3 meals a day now, and tasting all sorts of veges - carrot, parsnip, sweet potato and his fruit and cereal. He is sleeping well, except that I can't seem to get him to sleep longer than 45mins at a time during the day, but I am working on it! At night he is good and was waking at 5am, but I have been trying to stretch him out until about 6.30am - 7am for his first bottle, and for the last 2 nights this has worked ok. He wakes at about 5am and I just pop the dummy back in and he will dose on and off for another hour or so. I am hoping he will soon learn to just stay asleep until 7am! Heaven!!
That's about it really, just working hard and hanging out with my babies. We are planning a holiday to Brisbane in the school holidays and I am really looking forward to a change of scenery. I can't wait for the warmer weather either! Bring on the sun!!
Hope everyone else is doing well, take care!
Great to hear you are doing so well Jo!! Nic sounds like he's powering along. If you do come to Brissie we will have to catch up for a coffee!!! :D
Caro - How do you seem to know so much stuff?
Nothing much happening with us - we are pretty boring really! Emy is loving her food - don't know how to share photos with you, but will ask Jason if he can figure it out it for me...
Hope all your bubbas are giving you all heaps of entertainment - Emy keeps me laughing most of the day!
Hello!
Well we have had a funny couple of days - the other day i went to the supermarket with mum, and sat Emy in baby seat of the trolley, and she must have discovered that she can move around a little bit, and still remain balanced, coz she was having a good ole wiggle moving her entire body. It was sooooo funny, and Mum and I were nearly wetting ourselves laughing, and I think the other people in the shop thought that we were crazy!
Then today, J and I were having toast for breakfast, and Emy saw us, and was making chewing motions, and was excited, and then when she realised that we weren't going to give her any, she got cranky, and we had to give her some Farex, and then she was happy. She has not eaten any food at that time of day before, and we were quite surprised.
Then we went out, and drove all over the countryside, and stopped in a little park to have some frish and chips for lunch, and i took the blanket and food and stuff and put in on the grass, while J got Emy out of the car, and i heard "Oh no"....."Oh Emy...." And I knew before i even asked, what the problem was - Emy's nappy had a blowout. It was soooo funny, but so gross. She was wearing a bodysuit, and singlet, and it was just everywhere. So lucky that we managed to get her undressed without getting it all over her though, coz we were in the middle of nowhere, and didn't have many wipes, and the only shop open was the fish and chippery, and i don;'t think that they would have had any wipes or anything. But it gave us a good laugh. And a cold lunch!
Then after driving around a bit more, we ended up at Mum's house for coffee, and I asked mum if she had some pumpkin that i could give Emy. So mum found a tiny bit that was leftover from last night, that was in a container with some potato, but there wasn't much pumpkin, and so i said that Emy could have the potato with it too, and so mum smooshed it all up and heated it up, and then she, dad and Jason all dissappeared somewhere, and I started to feed Emy. It was so funny. She was doing her little wiggle, grunting when she had finished the mouthful that she had, to tell us that she wanted more, and opening her mouth soooo wide. Then mum and J came back inside, and i said that i thought that Emy liked that concoction, and mum sat down to watch her, and she thought it was the funnniest thing ever. She also reckoned that she had NEVER seen a baby so excited about food. (I said that she is our baby, and we both like our food! - we are both on the larger side) In the end, she devoured all of the food, and wouldn't stop asking for more until i actually gave her the spoon to play with. She is such a funny kid...
Hi all typing one handed so will be short. whole family has a hideoius cold - poor Ari is going to think all life outside the womb comes with a runny nose. This is the first day the four of us have been out of bed. Ari now has conjunctivitus in both eyes despite the antibiotics (yes Cass did the milk squirt but no luck) So we are back to the dr tomorrow.
Hope all are well talk soon
Hi everyone!
I cant belive how much you all talk, its so hard to keep up, by the time ive read everything Emily's awake and im out of time to post!
Good to see everyone's going well, except those who have been sick.
All good here, sounds like all the little ones are growing much too fast.
Emily's been on solids for just over 2 weeks now and she's loving it!
Cass - I also have one of those mesh bag feeding things, i've never used it though, must try it!
Caro - Question, how did you give the avocado? by itself or with something? I've been eyeing them off in the shops and brought one today but i have no idea how to give it to her (i dont eat them).
Sara - Hope both the kiddies get better soon.
Take care, Shell.
I cant believe I never saw this thread, oh well I dont know anyone so will leave it, but wow all these march mummies! Wish I had seen it before, would know everyone by now. What a great thread!!!
Cass - Would love to catch up in Brissy! Haven;t worked out our plans as yet, but will keep you posted.
Hi Soul! Didn;t you post in the March belly buddies group? Come join us anyway, we'd love to have you!
Sarah - I hope you all feel better soon!!
Caro - why can't you give them raw fruit? I haven't heard that. I haven;t given Nic any at this stage, but also have one of those mesh things you can put a piece of fruit in for them to chew on.
Ali - sounds like you guys have been busy! Good to hear that Emy is loving her food!
Hi everyone else, hope you are all doing great. Nicholas has been a perfect boy today! He slept for 1 1/2 hours this morning, then woke up, we went to playgroup and played happily for an hour, then had lunch and went back to sleep for 2 hours. Then, he was up and playing for a while and then had another nap for almost an hour, woke up, had his dinner, a shower, bottle and went back to bed for the night! This is the first day that he has followed this routine, after weeks of trying, so I am very proud! He usually just has little naps all day and when he wakes up he is quite grumpy as he hasn't had enough sleep. I am hoping that he will sleep all night tonight. He has been waking up a few times a night and needing to be resettled, though I am not feeding him overnight anymore and he has his first bottle of the day at about 7am.
Other than that, I have been trying to get an assignment done (struggling!!) and planning our trip.
Have a great week everyone!
