Well I seemed to have lost my post doh!
How is everyone going?
Joshua is still gaining weight slowly but I am going to take him to the paediatrician just to make sure everything is ok. His length and HC is increasing as normal, it's just the weight.
He also worried me by suddenly going 2 days without a poo! But ended up doing one last night and a ripper of a one today! I am sure he was saving it up!
Jodi - well done Emily! J has started to roll on his side, especially the right.
How much tummy time does everyone give their bubs? I do it a few times during the day but J doesn't seem to like it much. He starts to grizzle and cry after a couple of minutes. He is perfectly fine when he lies on my chest though.
Hope everyone is keeping well and getting as much sleep as possible.
-
I'm must admit, I'm a little slack when it comes to tummy time. I tried really hard with Nina, but she hated it, so hardly ever got it. I do it with Nina, but only if I remember. I must try and do it more often. She does have strong neck muscles though.
-
BB must be eating everyones post as I also posted the other day. Oh well.
Amelie is not yet rolling much. I put her on her tummy twice a day she doesnt mind it but she doesnt make much effort to lift her head either but also when she is on my chest she does so we do that alot.
We had a bad weekend. Three men kicked down our door at 2am Sunday morning(we were in bed) and they stole our car keys and tried to take the cars. Dh chased them down the road they hadnt managed to get in our the cars and they had a car waiting down the road for them. Lucky as Dh was still half a sleep and three against one wouldnt have been good.
The police had just come from another house around the corner where the same thing had happened. Very scary we are now spending $4000 on security to make me feel better. The police also said people are targeting our area beacause it is a nicer suburb GREAT!!
Lets hope Dh doesnt have to go away for a while.
Freeezing cold here I am so over winter.
-
oh wow, thank goodness you guys weren't hurt and they didn't get the cars. Did the police get them, or were they too quick?
-
Wow Kristale, lucky you are all ok, that would have been scary!
I am so over winter too. I had to go mothers group the other day when it was bucketing down. I managed by hopping in the backseat of the car, putting on my ergo and then putting DS in it and so I was able to manage an umbrella over us. Good thing the ergo also has the hood to cover DS's head.
Going to the doc today to get DS checked out for his weight gains and to get the referral to the paed.
Has anyone noticed that their bubs are crying less? Today I am feeling like that J is not crying as much as he used to. He still does cry of course but it just doesn't seem as bad as in the first few weeks iykwim?
-
The police were in pursuit of them when they left our place and they said they know who they are. 5 guys all with warrants out for there arrests already so hopefully they got them.
Laranna- Amelie is opposite she cries more now? She takes ages to settle at 7pm and when she wakes at 4am she cries alot too but she never was like this before so it is hard to get used to. We think she wants to suck to sleep but she wont take a dummy we have tried different kinds might keep trying otherwise she will suck on her bottle then drink too much and throw up. Frustrating to go to this after such an easy time before.
-
ahh how scary Kristale, glad you are all alright. hope they caught them
WTG Emily on almost rolling!! they are growing to fast
Jack still rolls tummy to back, he doesnt like tummy time too much grizzles and then rolls over lol i was slack with tummy time with DD as she hated it so i try do it more with Jack.
Laranna - i have actually noticed Jack cries less, only really cries when hes hungry now
im hating this stupid weather too DD usually goes outside for an hour before lunch and bed gives me a break from her (sounds horrible i know!) but with it pouring down the last few days shes had to stand at the door and look out !!! shes out there atm looks like rain isnt too far away though..
better go get lunch ready
ETA OoOOoers i got my new av!!!

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind but i'm just popping in to say hello to my previous BellyBudies :hello:.
LuluHB sorry to hear you are having a rough time with Isabelle being so demanding, Jordan still has his moments and he's nearly 7. Hope it gets better soon
Jodi how are you going? I have to admit, Oliver doesn't get much tummy time as he hates it as much as Jordan did, but he has nice strong neck muscles too, very rarely needs any head support, only if he's tired it tends to sag a bit.
Katstribe WOW Molly is being a really good girl for her mummy, it certainly makes things seem a lot easier when we can get a decent sleep at night without interruptions.
Oliver is going well, although he is fussing with his bottles lately, he seems to be more interested in sitting up and looking around and playing than actually feeding, his first morning feed is shocking, he is currently 6.65kg and 62cm. We seem to have his reflux under control, and have been told we can start weening him off the Zantac in 3 weeks which would be great as it tastes revolting. He has also started refusing the dummy as he associates that with sleeping, especially during the day, and that is something he isn't very good at, although today, he has had 2 big sleeps, as I just let him grizzle (not cry) and he usually sends himself back to sleep after about 10-15 mins, so that good. The mods have also decided to split up the April group so that it is line with all the other baby buddies groups.

Kristale thats aweful, i am glad to hear you and your fam are all ok!
Laranna, Molly doesnt get much belly time on the floor, mainly on my tummy! She hates being on her tummy on the floor so thats our comprimise :)
Blanche love your new avvie, i must get mione changed i souppose!
Dont feel bad about saying its your break from her, i think we need that bit of time! I just wish i could get some
Jodi yay on Emily almost rolling from back to front, Molly has shown no interest in rolling as yet. She has great neck muscles and head control but she just seems to be happy to look around. Oh well i guess she will do it when she is ready!
Sharon :hello: its great to hear from you! Sounds like Oliver is doing great! Thats fantastic that you can start weaning him off the zantac soon too.
Well Molly is still doing really well, I am happy to say that her sleeping routine is brilliant, she has her last feed around 8 to 8:30pm and then doesnt feed before 7am every morning, sometimes she even pushes it to 8am  During the day she is awake a lot more but most times she is happy to lay around with her activity gym over her or be in her swing. She seriously doesnt get much floor time but i find it hard as i have to be there constantly and cant leave the room just in case Mitchie forgets shes there! I would hate for him to hurt her. He absolutley adores her and is still sooo gentle with her. When he feels he needs his time he just comes up and says Mummy in the most adorable voice and sticks his arms out to me! So then we have snuggle time and play together. It is very hard some days as i seriously don't get a minute to myself (as I am sure all you Mums with toddlers know) as if your not changing feeding or talking and playing with one baby you are changing getting meals and drinks or playing withthe other one! This having two under two is bl@@dy hard work!
Anyway in saying that i have both bubs in bed so i best get my backside off this puter and get my housework done!
Hi to everyone and i shall do my best to get back on again soon
-
Hi everyone. Sorry I've been a bit MIA but I've been struggling a bit lately
Kristale - that's very scary. So lucky that none of you were hurt - bet it scared the life out of you though. Amazing isn't it that you spend the extra money to live in the better suburbs and it bites you in the b*m! I was a very happy camper the day our security gate and wall around the front garden was finished.
Kat - Molly sounds like an absolute angel. Lucky you with all that sleep. Have you tried a play pen around her mat? I've got one for that I had originally thought I would put Izzy in whenever I went to the toilet, load of washing etc but I find it easier to put it in the corner and then put Elena on her mat up in the corner so that Izzy can't reach her. Makes life so much easier to be able to leave the room for a minute without worrying about coming back to a squished newborn!
Sharon - great to hear from you and brilliant news that you can start cutting back on the Zantac. Oliver sounds like he's thriving. Good that they've broken up your BB group, although you probably now miss some people you've formed relationships with that are in the other group from you. Its much easier keeping up with a smaller group though.
Jodi - wow Emily sounds like she is just screaming along with development. She is so clever to be rolling over already.
Laranna - how did your checkup go?
Blanche - great news that your little man is on the mend. The weather makes it so hard doesn't it. Izzy stands at the sliding door in the family room banging on it to get outside but its just so awful. Still, this weekend has been nice so hopefully you've been able to take advantage of it.
Things have been pretty dark here over the last couple of weeks. I seriously cracked it at DH yesterday about his lack of help around the house. Its all been feeling like its coming down on top of me so after losing it when my Mum was over the other day she has told me that she'll come over a couple of days a week to help with the girls. Gotta love your mum don't you. Its not even that she will do all that much, but the simple knowledge that she will be here and I won't be alone to cope makes me feel so much better. Although I've been looking for cliffs to drive off the girls have actually been pretty good. Elena has had a few nights where she's got through to 6am or later without waking for a feed and Izzy is getting more gorgeous with her every day. She will sit next to her and stroke her hair really softly, or play with her hands. The only problem is that she is starting to want to pick her up - bit difficult seeing as Elena is half Izzy's weight, not to mention that Iz has no idea that she's not a dolly that can't be flung around and bounced off the coffee table! Gorgeous all the same.
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and bubs are all starting to find that night sleeping dust.
-
hi Sharon - great that you popped in. Pop in here whenever you like, you're more than welcome. That's great that you can cut back Oliver's medication.
lulu - How is your dh now after your talk with him? Is he going to help out more. I know when Emily was born, I had to have one of those talks with my dh. As we were only used to having a toddler around, having a newborn in the house again was a huge change, for him mostly. But after the talk, a lot changed, and it's smooth sailing most days now.
I've been teaching Nina that she is a big girl, and Emily is a little girl. That way she understands (well, is starting to) that she can't pick Emily up, or cuddle her too roughly.
kat - I hear you on the 2 under 2 being hard work!! But it's worth every minute of it, isn't it. Molly sounds like she's in a fantastic routine. Well done. Emily is waking at around 5am for her first feed for the night, I'd love for her to sleep another hour or so. I'm sure it'll happen in time.
Well it sounds like all the babies are doing fantastic, which is great to hear.
We went away over the weekend to a beach a few hours away. It was so relaxing and the weather was fantastic. Nina swam with Daddy while Emily & I relaxed on the sand. Emily loved feeling the sand in her toes, she kept wriggling her body off the towel onto the sand. And considering we were all in the same room, the girls slept really well. We feel very relaxed now, and dh wants to take the week off work
-
hi all...sounds like you are all going well...lulu  hope you are feeling better...
i have been feeling a bit 'incompetent' with the feeding lately...even though the gp, the aba, lactation consultant tell me i'm doing all the right things, i still don' get why J isn't putting on much weight and I feel guilty...really want to exclusively BF for 6 months but am thinking of comp feeding but dont want to jeopardise BF'ing by doing so....anyway GP says he'sfine just on the small side and we did a wee sample and I got the referral to the paed...
-
Jodi - your weekend sounds just lovely. Not surprising your DH doesn't want to go back to work! My DH didn't actually say anything when I start ranting on Saturday except to say that I should tell him what he should be doing. Completely lost it and told him I shouldn't have to tell him that the dishes in the sink need washing, the laundry needed folding, the floor could do with a vacuum, our clothes needed to be washed and god forbid he changed the bedding!! He used to be sooooo good when we first lived together. Not sure if he thinks that now that I'm not officially working its all my responsibility, or if I stupidly let him doing his share slide along the way and now I'm noticing that he hasn't done anything in a long time? Anyway, hopefully things will improve a bit, at least for a while.
Laranna - try not to feel guilty about the feeding situation (a LOT easier said than done I know - mummy guilt is a terrible thing). If your GP says that Joshua is doing well, then that's great and I'm sure the paed will say the same thing. Don't forget that "normal" is that one baby in 100 and that the 99 other babies are somewhere else on the scale and therefore "abnormal". Isabelle has never got about the 20th percentile except for the first three months when she was on the 50th percentile. And it was after those 3 months that she went onto formula so please don't think its your breastmilk.
-
Lulu - thanks...I guess I have to get used to this 'mummy guilt'. I am sure it won't be the last time I am worried about something about DS!
I hope your hubby starts helping out more without you having to ask him. I am so grateful my DP has helped out with the housework especially in the first few weeks where he did absolutely everything. Is there anyone else you can ask to help you out?
DS spends alot of time during the day awake...anyone else have this? Sometimes he will be a bit grizzly, sometimes fully unsettled and sometimes just lies there quietly. I feel like he should be sleeping more during the day. He pretty much sleeps from around 11pm to 10am with a few feeds in between those times.
His poos have slowed down to one every second day but he farts heaps in between! He's also been recognising his toys more and more and spends time laughing and 'talking' to them, it's soo cute! Plus, he has started to reach for them wave his hands at them but can't quite grip them yet. It is so cool every time I see him do something new :)

Hi Guys,
Sorry to invade!
I just popped in to say hi to the rest of my old belly buddies group!
Lulu and Kats....I've been looking for the thread (when I get a chance but could bever find it...you were on the last page!!).
How are you all going! I miss our group!!
Benjamin is going well after a few hiccups (reflux, reaction to the Zantac, then hospital for a UTI), he goes to bed between 7 and 8 every night and usually goes through til between 1:30 and 2am then through again til about 7...I'm good with that, though we'll look at cutting out the middle of the night feed soon as he just mucks around anyway!!
Now that I've found you guys I can book mark you and pop in and see you again soon...if thats ok!!
-
Hi Baby Wrangler :welcome: The more the merrier!
laranna - just remember that some babies are just skinny babies. Nina was. So I know how you're feeling. My friends would have chubby babies and rave on about how much their baby weighed, but Nina was always so skinny.
How is everyone this week? Babies all behaving for their mummy's and daddy's I hope. All is well here. DH did end up having Monday off, but went back to work Tuesday. I think he needed the break.
I'm having a nice break from Nina today as she's at daycare. She was driving me insane yesterday. I like Wednesday's & Thursday, I get to chill out with just Emily.

All going well and feeling much more positive about the weight thing. Went to a new lactation consultant today who worked out DS has a dysfunctional suck so we have a few exercises to do to get him back on track...I've posted more info in the breastfeeding chatter thread if any one is keen to know.
LC also noticed that DS should have slightly better head control by now but then again he is 3 weeks early and may take a bit longer so she wasn't too concerned but I do have some other exercises to do with him for that too...basically just lifting him by his arms a few times and giving him lots of side and tummy time.
Finally get to go to the hairdresser on Friday yippeee...was due to go the week DS arrived, of course as he arrived early I didn't make it to my appointment so haven't been to the hairdresser in over 4 months! I am so looking forward to it!

Sorry to intrude on your thread again... Just wanted to say Hi to the girls from our old BB group... Still reading up on your little ones progress. you all sound like your little ones are all doing well...
Its great to read about what stages your bubs are at were a few weeks behind but getting there so many great memories already...
Tiahna has FANTASTIC neck muscles and supports her own head well (sometimes she gets a bit wobbly but only if she's doing it while... She's trying to roll already which seems a little advance for me... after reading all your post i think it is... she's done it once from tummy to back and once from back to tummy...
Hope you gals dont mind me reading up on your progress.. really miss you guys from our thread...
