Sassy- I got the airwrap from the baby store we'd bought all out stuff from - it was $40 (although I didn't realise the price until I paid, as I knew I needed it).
MisTree- We've also got a jolly jumper, but Cameron can't reach the ground, so we've been putting a little stool (like they use for toilet training) underneath for him to bounce off. I wonder if your DS had a nightmare of being jabbed again. Hope you feel better soon.
Jess- Hope you've sorted your DD's poop issues. I know it's very uncomfortable when you haven't had a movement for a few days, let alone a week or 2 (had this problem for a few weeks after Cam was born). It even effected eating properly, as always felt bloated. How did the bassinet in the cot go? Maybe an idea could be (if you haven't tried it already) is to put DD in the cot for her sleeps during the day, so you can comfort her when she wakes and she'll hopefully realise it is a safe place. The airwrap thing ain't that cute when I had to change the sheets this morning, it made it a lot harder then it already is.
Wednesday must have been the day for clumsyness (like Jess's DS) - I went for a trip myself. Was trying to walk through the garage past the car, trying not to trip over something laying on the ground, but managed to step on my own thong, ended up scratching my hip on a plank of wood, bumped a few other body parts on things and then banged my head on a rail. My bruises have appeared today, and head it a little sore (which will make it a little sore to wash this arvo and I had intended to blow dry straight for going out tomorrow night). I just burst into laughter when I did it as it would have been a funny sight to see me go down. I'm a clumsy person anyway, walking into walls, almost tripping over at least once a week etc, I hope Cam doesn't inherit this gene.
Off to hang the washing out before Cam is due to wake.
This site's been messing up for a couple of days now for me, so I haven't posted and I spent my time unpacking boxes instead! I have way too much junk... Everything's been pretty normal round here except for yesterday when DS woke up early, was really clingy and cuddly, had two naps before midday and then just wanted to cuddle and sleep all afternoon. That's so weird! Unfortunately, he slept from 2-4.30, then from 6.30-9.30, and then wanted to play and squeal for a couple of hours. Right when I was ready to sleep! After letting him have a play for a while, he was yawning and obviously tired, but kept fighting sleep. Literally! He was punching and kicking and squirming and squealing for a solid half hour. Finally got some sleep, but he woke for a feed at 3.30, then at 5.30 he has this semi-regular, annoying problem of waking up and getting agitated because he has a tummy ache. He starts banging his fists on his belly and grunting. This escalates to kicking, back-arching and screaming. His little belly is so tense and he wont relax unless I'm holding him upright. I usually end up shuffling around the house in my slippers while holding his back to my belly, wrapping my arms around his chest and letting him dangle in front of me. When he suddenly feels really heavy, that's when I know he's relaxed and I can try and put him down again. I tried to put him down three times this morning, and DP ended up taking over for a bit before he had to get ready for work, but he just wouldn't relax and didn't stop struggling until I fed him (which was awkward! kicking little monster!). I finally got an appointment for a paediatrician in late November, and even though the initial referral was for the reflux and chucking, which has since eased considerably, I'm still going to go and try and find some relief for this. And no, I still haven't gotten to the chiropractor... really should, but life's been kinda hectic lately!!
Mis_tree - that's what happened with my DS after his first needles too... woke up screaming. I popped him straight in the bath with me! He calmed down straight away. We're going for the next lot of needles next week. Shame about getting a cold - hope you're feeling better soon. I know how dreadful it is (I'm still coughing!) so hopefully Seth doesn't get it too. A vapouriser is really helpful, and an oil burner with some eucalyptus essential oil (not the cheapo stuff), especially if he does get sick too.
Bec - ouch! At least you weren't carrying Cam when you took a tumble! I'm pretty clumsy too, but prefer to call it "gravitationally challenged". Sounds like you've been having an interesting time of things with Cam. It's been similar here, and could be teething or some other developmental milestone? Things change every day! I'm really flexible with our routine especially since everything got messed up with moving house, so I just take each day as it comes. Sometimes DS just doesn't want to feed after a sleep, which disrupts my whole notion of feed-play-sleep, but I can't really force the matter! It would be a real challenge if I wasn't breastfeeding, I'm sure. Not very helpful, am I??
Jess - good luck with the ear-piercing today, and the needles!!
OK, gotta go. The grunter is awake... sorry to all I missed!
DD had her injections yesterday... We went to my regular GP and his nurse was FANTASTIC with her. although thery couldnt do 2 at the same time she was talking to her and making her laugh... (dd gave her a filthy look after though... hahaha)
She's now 6.5kg (doubled her birth weight ) 61.5 cm long and head was 42.5 (both almost 10cm since birth) She cried a little bit but not for long. She had a fever last night about 38.1 so i gave her some panadol stripped her down a bit and gave her a good feed and she thankfully slept all night (although i didnt) She is still sleeping now and hopefully will be for little bit longer so i can clean up.
Now her pooping is sorted she has been alot less whingy. I thing it was a combination on poop pains and wind and the reflux... I had fixed up reflux and wind but not the poop... Hopefully i can keep the 3 naughties away and she's be back to being a fantastic baby.
Sass- i got my Air wrap at Big W. and yeah there about $35-40.
Mistree- Yeah i got a stand with my JJ. The stand is so huge it looks like a freakin tower in the house... take up so much room but she's loving being upright. The chain is long i can make it so she can touch the ground (sorry should have clarrified. She just likes it when her feet dont touch every now and then... we just lightly push her back and forwards... Her face lights up and she starts to laugh and squeel out... Its so cute... She only lasts about 15-20 mins max at the moment. and i dont like her to be in there too long incase its a bit much for her back... she likes looking outthe front door and just to be upright i think is really helping her reflux also.
Bec- I actually didnt do the basinette in the cot. completly forgot and put her in our room... She sleeps in the cot for short time during the day so i think she should be fine... Might do the basinette when she wakes up so i dont for get tonight. Hope ur ok from your fall... I'm a tad clumsy myself.
NaNa- dont ya just had that darn wind pain... my DD gets it alot... tense tummy, screaming (mostly in the late arvo or night) i feel so bad. she usually wake up tooting in teh morning.. HAHA She fluff so many time its no wonder she was screaming... i have just been using the infants friend before every feed (also helping with the pooping and the refluxy stuff too) i hate that distended tummy and thepoor painful screaming cry... Poor Bubs. Hope ur little 1 gets a bit beter. November isnt too far away. hopefully the pead can help him out.
Also didnt get the ears pierced yet... thought i;d see if she got a reaction to the needles so might wait til next weekend maybe. (although would have been good to get all the pain over and done with.
Sass- Jayda is a few weeks in older then Tiahna... Also i have been told that FF bubs tend to be a bit bigger... I wouldnt worry... I'm sure Tiahna will catch up to her soon enough... I just see it as bubs is healthy and doing well... My SOn was bigger then her as he was FF as well...
sorry I have been MIA lately. All is goin well here. Liam had his 4 month check up and weighed 7.6 kilo so he is doing really well. He is still waking once a night, he has slept thru ONCE which was heaven. I am hoping he will start more regulary soon.
We have Liams christening tomorrow so it should be a great day. Not as crazy as last weekends birthday party I hope.
I am now an aunty, my brother and his wife had a baby girl last night via c section. her name is Sophie and I am hanging to get into hospital to see her. I am at work at the moment. I still have a an hr left of my shift.
Sorry will come back and do personals later, better get some work done
I have been on reading posts but got so fed up with posting and losing them that i gave up in the end. Anyway i had a fiddle with my ticker (lol) sounds a bit wrong, but there are some great new emoticons on here now. Had a busy day watched the afl grandfinal with my sis and family, ate way too much and now feel a little yuck for it. I must go for a walk in the morning as i missed mine this morning. Ds has been a bit sooky the last few days, he seems to be getting very clingy towards me and dp has had trouble settling him so i have had to do it all. Dp has been a great help and i am just starting to realise how much he helps out with ds. I hope it is just a faze Hamish is going through. He is usually very good with most people. Ok i am off to bed to get an earlyish night, hopefully no wake ups....
