Aadi slept 9 hours straight last night!! WOOOOHOOO!!! Which means I've had 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep for the first time since forever! He woke up at 4:20 for a feed, and slept again until 6:30, and he's asleep again now. It might not be the sleep-in I'm hoping for, but I DONT CARE! Bebe slept! I'm delirious... of course I couldn't get back to sleep afterwards, but 6 hours!!
Aw, Jess... you know they shouldn't have split up the threads for May. We seem to have lost a few mamas along the way but maybe we can rustle up some more?
Maybe we lost deancey to Hawaii and she's not coming back? Wouldn't blame her...
Hope you come to some arrangement re: your sisters. Even meeting up somewhere neutral away from home. And I hope your DP is ok with it.
Unfortunately, we've decided to postpone our trip to Africa because without DS being protected from Yellow Fever, or me being able to get him to take malaria tablets, it's just a risk we dont want to take. We'll go mid-next year, when Aadi's old enough to have the Yellow Fever vaccine and he's eating food I can hide crushed-up tablets in! DP is a bit devastated as he hasn't seen his family in years, and I haven't met half of them, but it will have to wait. We're going to QLD to stay with my mum instead, which will be a big enough adventure anyway. I haven't been home to QLD for aaaages! Ruddy airlines dont have baggage allowances for infants tho, so I'm going to have to beg/borrow/steal a carseat, pram and toys to keep DS happy for 3 weeks.
Ok, that's my rant for the morning. More than likely I'll be back with some more babbling later tho! Have a good one mamas!
Aadi good boy.. Well done NaNa
Not so good about the trip although if its for the well being of Aadi its for the best. My sis is in Queensland atm and she took pram with her i think they take them on board with them, not entirely sure i will check with her and let you know. Omg the waking up during the night i dont know how you cope, Hamish woke at 1,2 and 5 but thankfully the dummy worked first two times but gave in to a feed at 5 and he fell asleep on me which he never does anymore. Poor little man had a bit of a temp so i gave him panadol at 8 and he is sleeping again now.
Jess maybe if you just briefly mention your sisters every now and the dp will warm to the idea. I hope things go well at work today and they agree on an extention for your maternity leave.. Good Luck
Sass how is jayda going? Any news on the jobs?
Mis T how is Seth today? I hope he is sleeping better for you.
Girl 22 it is normal to feel upset especially when you are not sure about something but you are doing a great job with Yasmeenia, especially with studying etc. I give Hamish a little boiled water after each solid feed but this is a personal choice.
Bec how is Cameron?
Deancey How was the holiday?
LMK How is Liam going?
Abb - cope? no, not quite... but I guess I never knew any different, so just resigned myself to the job and got on with it. Poor Hamish... teething's a biatch! But the extra cuddles are nice.
Qaintass allow one collapsible stroller OR bassinet for babies, and that's it. No baggage, but the limit for us is 32kg each, so I can manage everything else. I have a large-ish pram, but can get a stroller no probs. I'm on the case with my mum to borrow a car seat. Not something I want to buy, since we're only going for a short stay (and not again for a long time!). Bah!
Mis - Aadi's second tooth seems to have disappeared too... what's up with that?? I heard they can come up and down 3 times before cutting thru, but that never happened with the first one. Whatever, he's sleeping again!
Jess - I forgot - Good luck with work today!
Mis Tree took to long to type so i missed your post.
That great about the no screaming. Hamish has just started putting his hands out now too its very cute Dp loves it. My friends little one said dad first and he has never seen his dad and she said no one ever said it to him so it was a bit of a mystery really so dont worry to much.
Hamish said mum today for first time yay , he has been saying dad for ages now so its about time.
NaNa i am a tired grump already from one night of broken sleep..i dont think i will be very happy after weeks of this especially after 2 1/2 months of all night sleeps oh well the joys of parenthood...lol
Hey all... Good news... My boss let me extend my leave... ... although he did hint that it may not be "economical to have 2 kids in care plus travel" ..... "is it worth it" SO i guess they dont care if i come back or not... Well at least it give me few months to decide f i want to continue there or wait til DS is in big school the yr after.
NaNa- yay on the sleep i wish little miss would get back on track... We had a bad night (but i guess the bags under my eyes helped out today). Sorry to hear you had to cancel your trip... but i guess when it comes down to Aadi's safety then its the best decision
Thanks everyone for the support too... I was so nervous but in the end i just told him straight.
Abb- hope Hamish is ok... I've had DS witha fever and nothing else for 3 days now. whats wrong?... YAY about Hamish saying mum... DD sound like she's saying Dad.... No No No No ... So not happy if it is... DS said Dad 1st and i have been really persistant with the Ma Ma i hardley ever say Da da to her..
Jess, that's great news about work! Good for you!! Bit of a relief, yeah?? Hope Jordan's fever sorts itself out. Poor kiddo.
I'm a bit disappointed about the trip, but maybe we can go next year some time instead.
Mis - yeah, it's annoying, since babies need heaps more stuff than adults. I dont pay for him to travel, though, so I just have to work it out. It's going to be fun keeping him under control in confined spaces for a couple of hours!
Aadi doesn't really say anything except "heh!" a lot, but he did say "hamburger" once, with a french accent (nooo - I'm vegetarian!). Oh, and "pwoyooo", whatever that means... and he said "NaNa" and "Aadi" yesterday. I don't think he'll ever say "mum" or "dad" because we speak to him in french and always refer to each other as "papa et maman" but DP calls me NaNa, so I guess he picked up on that.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend!
Well we have had a rough afternoon and evening here, Hamish had been screaming on and off for hours and refused to feed from me so i had to give him a bottle in the end of which he drank 220ml leaving not even a drop. I think it might have been his mouth being sore but hard to really tell as i have never seen him this way, he was over tired as only had a short sleep this morning and has been cranky all day. I hope his fussiness with me was just tiredness and not complete breast refusal, we will see next feed how i go. I am exhausted from all the crying, he doesn't normally cry much at all so i new something was up with him. I hope he has a good sleep and wakes up my happy little boy again. We have a work function for Dp tomorrow night and have a friend coming over to watch kids but if he is still like this tomorrow i will not leave him. I am off to hoprfully get some sleep before Hamish decides to wake.
Thanks NaNa- WOW at Aadi saying those words/sounds.... All i heard last night was Dadadadadada but sometimes it sounds like ahrahrahrah so maybe not quite there yet... What does "papa et maman" mean??? Its cute that he calls you NaNa... is that short for your name or just something you get called????
Abb- Awweee sorry to hear Hamish has been unsettled... At least he took the bottle though... We had a bad night too... Little miss was crying so much,,, she'd finally get to sleep then wake up an hour later and scream out... after midnight it was every hour and a half. was thinking it was cos we didnt have a solid feed and my supply was VERY low... i might go and get some formula sachets although dont really want to stop the BF just yet.
well i'm off to see some people today... still havent decided if i'll plan a meet up with my sisters just yet... think i'll decide once i'm down that way. Best get ready... Hope everyone has a good weekend.
