Oh NaNa- Hugs hun. Wish i could help out. U really need to get some help but i see your frustrations when no one can or is willing to help. Have you considered thickening up the BM with the thickner Offer water when he wakes?? I know its hard when your already sleep deprived. I really feel for you,. Tell DP to take the day off work so u can catch up on some sleep.

i wanna put jayda in a bed around her birthday but it think she would fall out cause she always stands up in the cot and jumps around when she wakes up.
sass - no, didn't come out wrong. I just know that some people would FREAK if they knew I put DS in a big bed, but he's actually going into a smaller bed! Before he was sleeping in a QS bed, so this is an improvement!! LOL! We have a guard rail on one side, and a full-length body pillow on the other, against the wall. Most times when DS wakes up he sits up and rubs his eyes and sooks for a bit, and only ever climbs up on the bed head, not the rail. He's barely interested in the rail, but is forever trying to climb over the bed head (which is high!) and get out the window or something! Monkey... The bed itself is actually quite low to the floor, so it would be ok if he did actually fall, as it's way lower than the bar of the cot or even our bed.
Jess - thanks, hun. That's sweet. I'm not feeding DS thru the night anymore, as he wont even feed to sleep anymore! I've tried offering water if I think that he's just waking for a drink but he's a PITA with it. But if he's screaming relentlessly, I'll certainly cave in and try BF as a last resort. It hasn't worked tho for a while. Even for day sleeps. If I try to resettle him he screams for ages, but if DP takes over he's out like a light in 3 seconds. BUT DP can sleep thru DS's screaming for the first half hour, so I've already worn him out, if you like. Aadi's eating heaps of solids most days now, and it's 3 big meals plus an afternoon snack and as much BF as I can. I can't seem to find the time or energy to express these days, and DS wont take a bottle, so not sure how the thickened milk would benefit? Sorry, I'm a bit dumb about that.
DP can't take any time off work at the moment. He's already under immense pressure ATM, being in the jobs sector and things being less than brilliant in the world in that regards. And he's already taking unpaid leave so we can go overseas in June to see his family.
After much shuffling around, I have a paed appointment next week. Will see if they can shed some light on what's going down with the sleep allergy situation!

nana: dont feel like u shouldnt be heard(read) in here that is wat the post is for. i hope ur appt goes well next week and they can help u. i dont knwo how u r coping i cant handle it when jayda wakes up for a few hrs of a night it makes my day at work so hard the next day.
im so tired. i painted for 3hrs yesterday and that was just the undercoat. we r makin a cubby for the daycare kids and i guess jayda lol. then by like 3pm i could hardly keep my eyes open then i went to bed at 830 and jayda woke at 2am thinkin it was time to play. i finally got her back to sleep at 5am and got up at 7am. they r all asleep now. i so wish i could be.
im thinkin of givin jayda littler bottles during the day cause i am wasting so much formula think she "might" want the full 240mls. i think ill do a 150ml one for both feed then a 240ml for bed time.
where is everyone it is very quiet in here. it seems when i dont have tiem to come on everyone is here then when i am bored and need people to talk to no one is around :( i can take a hint lol.

NaNa - Don't be sorry for 'blahblahblah'ing' i know it helps (even just a little) to come in here and get it off your chest. I hope the paed can find a solution to Aadi's sleep allergy. The little bed sounds like a good idea for you's. It's good he doesn't climb the rails...yet!
Jess - Glad you had a nice time at the park with the bb girls...i wish we were all a little closer to each other as I reakon we'd all have a great time meeting up in person. Good to hear the amber necklace seems to be working...good investment hey.
Abb - Very cute with the Howzat hand movements...did someone get a pic of it? IKWYM about the dancing...Cam is enjoying music too - I've been playing my new U2 cd a little lately and he bobs along - probably cause I'm am too (I'm a big U2 fan), and the ads on TV with music. He particularly likes the subway ad (the song - I feel good) and the borocca one - these always guarantee a dance - no matter what mood he is in.
Sassy - I was going to say to you I wonder if you just did 2 half bottles (morning and lunch), then the big bottle for bed for Jayda - as even though I'm BF I'm finding Cam is not too interested most of the day feeds, but needs his big bottle for bed.
On the Easter Egg question- I'm not sure yet. I want to say no, and instead he can have a chocolate custard as a treat (cause it's not something I give usually), but I can just see on the day DH offering Cam some saying "oh, but it's easter" and I know I'm very likely to give in :rolleyes: I guess when I think about it, it ain't that much worse then giving him the fairy bread and birthday cake.
Well we've had a few challenging days with Cam's sleeping- but by no means is this a whinge - as I know the struggles some of you have with sleep. On Monday I tried to put him down for his arvo sleep - we usually feed to sleep here, and no sooner had I put him down he was WIDE awake. By that night he was a very grumpy little boy. Then when I put him to bed, about 1hr later he woke screaming the house down and nothing I could do would settle him (cuddles, drink, pain relief had already been given before bed). I was getting a little stressed (which I knew wouldn't be helping) as I couldn't stop him from crying - it had been just over 30mins by then, so ended up calling DH at work, I had a little vent to him and went back and tried to comfort again - this time he calmed and eventually he went back down. The next morning low and behold...the top left eye tooth had broken through - this is tooth #6.
He was fine yesterday, but this morning he only had 30min morning sleep (he usually has at least 1.5 - 2hrs) - so he has been a little grump today. He is asleep now though, has been since 2, so hopefully he can catch up now and be my happy little boy this arvo.
Well that's all from me for now, going to make a start on dinner now.

i have nearly everything organised for jaydas birthday just got the food to go.
only 3 teeth still. she has been very funny latly dancing all the time and showing off everywhere we go.

It's been rather quite in here.
Well we've continued to have some challenging sleep days/nights. Both Thursday and Friday nights Cam woke a couple of times during the night (about 12.30ish and 3amish) and then again 4.30am - and wouldn't go back to sleep. But thankfully yesterday, even after he stirred at 5am - he seemed to play, then had a few little sooks (not actually crying though) and then went back to sleep...so did I...next thing I knew it was 7.45am :dance:. This morning he slept til 6.55am (another :dance:). No other teeth have popped up, so it might just that eye tooth playing around or just a developmental phase (one of the ladies a play group said this happened before her DD stood and walked...so I hope she is right and we have a few steps before I go back to work :pray:)
It's worked out well that Cam slept well last night too, as DH is doing a First Aid course today and tomorrow, but still working (til midnight) after the day course, so he needs some good uninterrupted sleep.
We are struggling with BF again. He seems to be refusing (I've posted a new thread about this, so won't repeat here) - so I'm thinking our BF journy is almost over. Oh well - I've very proud to have reached this far, but as most of you would know its still a little upsetting.
On other news...I went and saw my boss on the weekend. He'd called me the other week and told me he was creating a parttime job with me in mind and that he'd call me back 2 weeks ago to confirm. Well when I didn't hear from him, I started to think that maybe he couldn't do it and I started to worry where I'd end up (they'd have to place me somewhere, just who knows where). But as soon as he saw me he came over and said that the job was mine for the days I wanted (Monday, Thursday and Fridays).
So I rang the childcare centre I'd previously looked at (it's on the way to work), to follow up as at this moment there is not a position for the 2 days I want (mum will look after on Mondays). She said there might be one day available, but will have to let me know which one, hopefully tomorrow. This could work out ok if its Fridays, as DH could look after him on Thursdays until it became available. I then called another childcare centre closer to home and they have the 2 days I want, but would need to start on 16th April (2weeks earlier then I'd planned). This too could also work out, as my boss would've preferred I start back at the end of April, so this could be doable (as much as I don't want to, but I guess I'd just be delaying the inevitable). I think we (as DH wants to have a look at them too now - I already have) will go visit them both on Wednesday and see what they both have to say. If worst comes to worse, I've got 3 lots of people offering to look after him those 2 days and these are all people I trust 100%. I just don't want to feel a burden, as I would want them to try keep as close to our usual routine as possible (give or take of course). Argh!! Decisions, decisions. I can't believe the 12months are almost up.
We went and had a look at possible birthday presents for Cameron...I think we might get him a trike (with the handle on the back for us to push). We found one we like (its got a good seat that even has straps, but can all be removed as he grows), but thought we'd better look around first. But I bet we'll end up getting that one...we always do go back to the 1st :rolleyes:
We are still undecided what to do for his birthday party though. What have you's all decided? We are considering either just a picnic in a park, or maybe even just at home. Not sure what theme yet either or what to do for a cake (it seems everyone is so clever and bake theres, I'm thinking I might actually give it a go).
We went to another 1st birthday party yesterday. They had baby animals. Cam got to pat a lamb, goat, chicks, guinea pigs, calf and almost the piglet (he kept running away). It was fun, but a little $$$. And after a while the novelty had died and nobody was interested in patting the animals (they were only there for 2hrs).
Anyway, I think I've rambled long enough. Hope everyone is well.

Sass we are having a Roary the Racing Car party for Hamish, i have been looking around at some party stuff, it is exciting, i love birthdays and always make a big fuss except for mine i hate the attention so would rather not bother for my own.
Not much to report here, everything is going ok, sleep, food etc. Hamish is becoming very cheeky and uses every opportunity to show off now, it is rather cute but i can imagine it getting annoying as he becomes older. I am enjoying the age and everything i am able to teach him, it is great fun and he is such a happy soul. The only issue i am having atm is with getting into everything an being told no seems to be a game, but i guess it is his age and i just need to be consistant and he will eventually learn right??? lol
Anyway i hope everyone is fine and all the bubs are growing healthy and happily along, not long until we will be celebrating birthdays..
bec: if u have to start 2 weeks b4 work at the cc then i would prob do it. i only say this because i have people come the day they start work and if the child is upset or has any probs they cant come get them. see if u can do half a day the first week tehn the full day the 2nd week just to get used to it sorta thing it makes things so much easier.
i feel so good today dunno y just feel great lol.

Been so quiet in here...
Abb- DD is into everything too... She has developed such a little character. Everything is funny ATM. She laughs at EVERTHING. She is in Oar over DS. Loves him to bits and is always trying to play with him. She now tried to get into bedrooms and cloes the door to hide but gets scared so she cries. Its both Sad, funny and annoying... lol. She is also standing an-assisted now. walking round the furniture like a pro and is walking with anything she can. Not long now. Food she is wanting everything she can hold. She now says NaNa... LOL... She loves Banannas. (even thou she gets a small excema flare up).
A friend of mine had a baby girl few days ago... So tiny... Makes me which i has a newborn again...
Guess i've been slack here cos not much going on. Hope everyone is sorting sleeping out.

Abbie is doing well she was a little bit constipated last week so i bought her some juice and just been giving it to her once a day. She is walking around pushing her walker getting very clever:-)
We are going to Adelaide for a few days this weekend but i am very nervous cause i hope the kids fly well and don't be naughty on the plane. I have packed heaps and heaps of activities for lachlan a few toys for abbie and the PSP for Cody. Cody and Abbie will be fine its just lachlan i hop that he is good:crossfingers:
Jess its great to hear that the kids are getting on so well. When cody gets out of bed early he says its because he wants to play with abbie:-)

Abbie also LOVES her food if anyone is eating she has to be too. She will have breakfast with the boys with DH and then with me. OMG she loves food!!!!!

went to the paediatrician today, and he basically thinks DS is going to be a challenging kid for some time still. He's going to get in touch with my GP and arrange some extra help for me because apparently the govt. has put a whole lot of funding into that kind of thing, but it has to be accessed thru the GP, not the paed. Makes sense, kinda. Anyway, I also have a few other sleep schools to contact to try and get a longer stay, rather than just a stand-by booking for a 1-day program. Unless you have private health insurance it's about $1000-$2000 though! Owch!!! Don't know what's going to happen next.
So I hauled DS to playgroup this morning after he refused to nap and was biting me and being a real little monster. Of course, we arrive and he turns into a little angel and charms all the other mums, who think I'm just carrying on about him being so difficult. Had to leave early in order to make the paed appt. and he fell asleep in the sling, and stayed asleep when I put him to bed at home. He woke up just in time to have lunch and go out in the sling again. An hour and 15 minutes on public transport... argh! He behaved well enough, and charmed the medical student who was sitting in on our appt. Then tried to BF him at a parents room in the city on the way home, and he pretty much spat it out. It was horrible to see. He fell asleep on the train, and stayed asleep in the sling for 45 minutes, until we got to the front door.
I'm worried about the whole BF thing too, as he just doesn't seem interested in having to work for it a bit more now that my supply is changing. He gets frustrated, and bites, and then plays and crawls away or climbs off my lap. I guess it could be AF affecting things, and an age thing for him, but I don't want the only time he feeds to be at midnight and 3.30am when he's screaming at me. Apparently, all the other mums at playgroup that BF are going thru exactly the same thing right now, so I know I'm not alone there. Just don't get that full feeling anymore, so Hellooooo saggy boobs!! LOL! My mum warned me about this...
OK, BBL... got to un-break my back. Kid's too heavy.
GRRRR... I did a quick reply to NaNa and LMK and it didnt post. Really hating the stuff ups with BB lately... GRRRR... Well had my whinge...
LMK- hope u have a great time on ur trip... yes very clucky... Would have another but would like to enjoy my girl for a bit longer. She is at a beautiful stage and i think i miss the sweetnedd of this age... DS used to be a sweet little boy now he's a feral monster who is always cranky and defiant. SOmedays i wonder where i went wrong.
NaNa- I too was told i would have a challanging child. Hope urs doesnt turn into what mine has... Its horrid to have such a misbehaving child whom u have no control over. Hope things get better soon and you get help and support. Sounds like he likes the sling have you tried the sling when he wont settle???
Jess - I know that Aadi has the potential to be a real menace to society, but if his challenging behaviour is channeled the right way and handled properly, I'm hopeful that he will be slightly easier to handle and grow into an interesting, independent little person. He is already defiant and feral, and there's not a lot of info or support available for dealing with that, it seems. The situation is not made any easier by being on my own so much. It's really hard to be creative with discipline and education when it comes to kids like this. I'm sure you know that though!
I would use the sling more often if DS wasn't so freaking heavy now. My back is a mess, and I hate to think how bad it would be if I were trying to get him to sleep in the cot!! Up at three this morning crying, dancing around on his bed. Tried to feed him back to sleep (like the paed suggested!!) and the usual thing happened with him dozing momentarily then going nuts for an hour. Up again at 5.40 going nuts again. Fought and fought to get him asleep again at 8. I just can't get myself up and walk around with him in the sling at 3 am no matter how much I want to. I've commandeered my mum into making me a stronger sling coz the one I'm using now is gonna break, it's only quilter's cotton! Does the job, but not going to hold out for a trip overseas, I don't think.
I have been going thru the process of applying for Aadi's French birth certificate and passport, and needed to get copies of my own birth certificate. They finally arrived yesterday, but it turns out that when my mum and step-dad married in 89 and I changed my name, even though they divorced and I went back to using my old name, it was never changed back legally. I'm so mad at my mum for not doing it properly. All my ID and most of Aadi's has the wrong name on it!! I'm having an identity crisis... I've been going by the wrong name for 15 years! And if I want to change it back (which I have to for the French bureaucratic BS system) it's going to cost me hundreds of dollars and yet more waiting around. It took 7 weeks for the stupid certificates to arrive in the first place!

jayda took 5 steps down the hallway last ngiht i was so excited. she took one step and just ran the rest lol. then looked at me with the biggest smile. soooooooooooo cute.
well i have been having the biggest loser shake. i really love them. i have done so many other "diets: before and this one is the best. it doesnt have the same effects as other. well it has the weight loss but with others if u ate the tinniest thing u werent ment to it put on heaps of weight. i love that it encourages healthy eating not just cut out all food and have shakes. the best thing is i can eat normal food for tea and snacks not just certain fruit. i lost 1.1 the last 2 days.
i wanna loose atleast 10kgs b4 my next preg.
i am going off the pill after jaydas birthday. scary yet exciting. i am so worried that when we have the next bub jayda will feel left out :(

NaNa - It sounds like even though the paed couldn't help directly, that it was worth the trip to find out there is help out there for you. Hope Aadi's not too challenging for too long for you though :pray:. Argh on the name changing....theres one less stress you could go without. My DH use to be known as 2 different names (due to being fostered from 2years old) up until a few months before we got married, I asked him to change it legally to his adopted name as I know the problems 2 names can cause (plus I didn't like his birth name). But I do remember when we did change it, we had the choice of doing it in QLD (where we live) or NSW (where he was born) and it turned out the NSW system was a lot easier and quicker to deal with (at the time) - so I wonder if you've got an option like this? I hope there is not too much mucking around for you's.
Sassy - Woohoo on the walking :dance:. How exciting (and scary that they are growing up so quickly). Good on you with the weight loss to. I was wondering how the biggest loser diet would go...I would think it would have to teach you to diet in a healthy way. How exciting trying for your next bubs...unofficially we are also now TTC#2 too. If it hasn't happened naturally for us by end of the year, we will begin fertility treatment early next year.
Jess - I have alot of trouble with posting things too lately...don't forget to copy just before you push the reply button - it saves a lot of :wall: afterwards. Hey, I'm sure your challenging boy has nothing to do with the way you've raised him. In my and extended family (aunts etc), all had boys and girls...all were raised the same, and for some reason the little boys were and still are occassional pooheads (very challenging) and the girls almost little :angelic:. Though the boys are now finally starting to realise (we hope, I mean they are all now 25 to 35years old - you'd think they'd grow up sometime :rolleyes:).
Nikki - Ahh, boys and mud :lol:. I can see that happening here in the future. Hope your children all are behaved for you on the plane. Is it just you or is your partner going to? Hope you have a good time.
Well, I've been sick for the last 2 days. Woke up Monday night with pains in my tummy and not long after got all achy and started running a temp. Yesterday I felt like crap...could barely move and was sooo tired and could not eat. Thankfully Cam was a very good boy...he played by himself (i'd just sit nearby or lay on the ground) alot, had really good, long sleeps and did not grumble at all. Think he knew I was sick. Feeling a little better today, but still a little achy and finding it hard to eat. I guess that could be an ok thing (not ideal I know), that my stomachs probably shrunk -so I don't have to be a gobble guts for a while.
We are still having trouble BF too. Though yesterday was happy to give formula - as I wasn't sure what I had and couldn't be bothered dealing with an unhappy baby (so I pumped and dumped). But I offered a BF this morning and he still refused (he doesn't even get near it, he cries as soon as he is laid down in preparation for it). I'm at the end of AF, so will keep trying over the next week or so, but it's hard to express to keep it up and with work/childcare soon, I'm not sure if its worth stressing over.
I took DH around to the 2 child care centres today. We are both confused now. Our preferred one can only do Fridays, which would mean DH would look after him Thursdays for now, but this could become tricky if DH gets more work. The other can do the 2 days we want, but I just don't get the same friendly vibe, plus this is the one that will start 2 weeks earlier then expected (which is 1 month before I'm due to start back at work- I'd already allowed for the 2weeks lead up period). We need to let them know by Friday.

I almost forgot about BellyBelly Baby buddies! I've been busy. We are half way into the semester now. Just submitted one assignment last week. Another one due next week. And one week break soon. Ladies, should I be worried, Yasmeenia is not crawling? IS YOUR DD/DS crawling? But she does get around the living room just finely. She is really good at turning herself around in a circle, etc.
Sassy - How exciting about Jayda taking steps to walk. Yasmeenia doesn't even crawl.
