Sass- i know that the fans seem to push the hot air round sometimes but at night it is nice to have some ind of breeze on you... even if it is hot... lol

Jess abbie weighed 7.6kg, he did not measure her length. I am not overally worried just will go and get her checked at the clinic anyway. Also abbie was 6 1/2 months when i took her, also i looked on the net and it says that for 6 months anything up to 46cm is normal.

    Hi All,

Nikki - I heard that if they jump up 2 percentiles they refer you to a specialists. Couple of the girls from mothers group found this also at the 6months check ups. They went to specialist who so far has said theres nothing to worry about (probably another way of getting a few extra $$$ from us ). Cameron's head circumference was 43.5cm, and I noticed he has jumped from the 25th pecentile to between 25-50, so it seems like they have a little growth spurt at this stage (his weight and length were still in the 25 percentile). I'm sure there is nothing to be concerned with.

Jess - Yeah, that's why I wanted the fans in the bedroom. We have air con in the lounge, and it faces down the hall, so with most of the doors closed, the air con travels right to the required room, it just needs to be circulated when it's there. Glad Tiahna likes her shopping, Cameron's likes his shopping too, rarely grumbles. It's funny though, he seems to get bored in Kmart and Big W though, as he usually makes sighing noices and falls asleep in those stores but always wakes in toy stores (that could be costly later on)

NaNa - Are you going to the Sunshine Coast for xmas? Where abouts are they? Eww on the 5.30 wake ups, just a little too early . Cameron's also woken about that time over the last few weeks on and off, anywhere between 4 -5am. It's much harder to resettle I think cause the sun being almost up (wish we had daylight savings). Occassionally I've just let him do his little cry for a min, then usually find it dwindles to a little moan within 30seconds, then he seems to go back to sleep for an hour or so (doesn't work all the time though).

Sassy - Yeah, sometimes the fan just pushes the hot air down. I must check the setting though, as I know we had it on the winter setting the other week . Did you get the storm a little later that night though (it hit ours about 7pm, then came back at 4am - scared the crap out of me with the crack of lightning outside my window). Glad Jayda enjoyed her swim, makes it a little easier to cool her down if she loves the water.

Well we didn't get up to too much over the weekend. Went to the shops yesterday as Mum insisted I buy a new outfit for my xmas party this coming Friday and wanted to buy it for me for xmas. Looking forward to wearing it, been a while since I bought nice clothes (besides maternity ones).

We had the inlaws over last night, as MIL in going to Europe for 5weeks as of Saturday. They were suppose to be here at 5ish (though my original plan was for lunchtime) but by the time they arrived at 6, I was giving Cameron a bath then getting him ready for bed. I'd invited them over so MIL could spend some time with Cameron as she had made comments that he doesn't know her. But when she comes back to Australia 4 weeks later she is off to live in China for a couple of years again (teaching English). It frustrates me that she makes those comments then doesn't seem to be so worried when she makes plans to live overseas (which she only told us a couple of weeks ago). How does she think Cameron will get to know her if she's in another country . Sorry for my little rant. There's heaps more they frustrate me with, but I feel better now, so I won't bore you.

Well, off to make something for dinner - I have no idea what I'm going to make - any ideas. Last week I was so interested in cooking, this week I really can't be bothered (but I will).

    Bye for now

I'm still around... just having a difficult week. Yeah, and it's only Tuesday!! Have to take DS for blood tests tomorrow to find out about the spots on his legs. Not looking forward to that. He's been throwing the biggest tantrums lately, it's disgusting! I hate to think how I'm going to handle the terrible two's! Anyways, I'm late for playgroup as usual, so I'll be back later. Hope you're all having a nice day!

OK, I'm back... where's everyone else today?? hmmm...
so, yeah, sleep deprivation is no fun. I've just ordered a book that's been recommended to me, and maybe next year I'll have the time to read it! Haha! I don't know why DS has been so crazy the last week or so, but it's exhausting. Having DP home more often has certainly mixed things up, tho. Yesterday I thought everything was getting back to normal, but then last night he woke up screaming at midnight, and today we had tantrums and screaming, no sleep between 7 and 2, and then only a couple of short naps till bedtime at 7.30 (making it earlier so I can go out! selfish mama...). But the thing is he's been waking up crying, or crying in his sleep even. I can't work out why, and he's never really done this before. Growing pains? Every 10 minutes or so for the first hour after he goes to sleep, he needs to be resettled or turned onto his side again because he's crying out in his sleep or rubbing his eyes like he's waking up. I've started giving him regular "meals" of fruit, vegies and porridge two-three times a day, but it's taken me until this morning to get him to actually eat enough to enjoy it and want more. I'm wearing a lot of it...
Ah, but he's too cute. This morning he was rolling around on the bed just after waking up, and he crawled over to DP's pillow and patted it, looked straight at me and said clearly, "ou est Papa?" (where's Papa?). I couldn't believe it. DP still doesn't believe me.
Anyway, we're bracing ourselves for blood tests tomorrow. Blahhhhh.... not happy.

Bec - yeah, I grew up on the Sunshine Coast (shh dont tell anyone!), all over really, but mostly around Mudjimba (huh? where??). But my mum's just moved out to the Noosa hinterland, so we'll be going up there. Gonna get my lily-white moon-tanned butt into the sun again - eeeek! I wish DS would just cry a little and then trail off if he has to cry, but no... he starts out suddenly and builds up intensity, and the longer I leave him the harder it is to get him to stop. Shame about your MIL... that's a bit selfish IMO. Not just the moving-overseas biz, but just turning up late. Is Cameron their first grandchild? I know it's hard to get inside their heads and know why they say these things then act so completely opposite! I'd suggest something to cook for dinner but it's probably a bit late now... I used to do that for a living once upon a time. Culinary consultancy Bet a new outfit makes you feel good! Would your mum take me shopping too??

Nikki - Congrats on the tooth! And don't stress, Abbie's normal and gorgeous! DS has always had a big boofhead, but it was only really noticeable just before he had a big growth spurt at 4 months, but now his body is really starting to catch up. A friend of mine made it really obvious to me. She has a son born the day after DS, her and her partner are big, tall, athletic people but their DS is tiny and petite compared to Aadi. I went to visit one day and she said (very loud) "Whoa that kids got a big head!" and I freaked just a bit! By comparison, it looked massive! Last check DS's head was 45cm, but he's been in the 75-90th percentile from the start. Your Dr probably had his finger under the tape measure or something...

Jess - that's great that Tiahna's so well-behaved when you're out! It's amazing how sweet they are when in public, but nobody will believe that when you're at home they're capable of being little terrors! And well done on the sleep too! Here's hoping it keeps up. I meant to say a while back, congratulations on making it to 6 months BF! I know that's a big deal, and you've worked hard at it. Have you set yourself another goal? Or just taking it as it comes?

Oh geez I'm falling asleep here... I'll come back tomorrow after the Drs and finish up. Sorry to everyone I missed. Nothing personal! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
