Mis- Glad to have you back... I replied to your other thread about the boob refusal. Also with DS's constipation have you stopped all solids??? I find when DD is backed up i have to stop all solids and try the diluted prune juice or the brown sugar in water (or coloxyl drops) Do you know what foods causing the constipation??? what are you feeding him??? I have to stick with either veges or fruit or DD gets blocked... I tried baby weetbix like 1/3 of a bix added some pured pears and she got so blocked up... She likes this jar with sultanas figs and oatmeal so i do that for breakie or the pured pears or apple.. Althoughapple can also cause a back up. if i give her the apple custard she's sure to go that day if not the next for sure... I heard a GREAT saying from your thread about the refusal... "food is fun until there one" i think thats fantastic... Something to keep in mind if DS keeps having issues...

Well last night i tried DD on an Avo... I put in on the Hi- chair and she helpedherself but she didnt like it... LOL... Pulled funny faces, shuddered... She had fun mushing it between her fingers and rubbing it into her clothes and face... I tell you i need a plastic suit foir those times...

Well best be off time for wetfields to finnish my chrissy Shopping... Wish me luck... Its going to be hectic

    Hi All,

Mis - Sounds like you got a healthy bubba. Maybe an idea for Stanky's constipation - if your still breast feeding, I find if I take metamucil it seems to help if Cameron is a little constipated - It definitely works for us, the colour of the result speak for themselves IYKWIM. on forced leave - have fun spending more time with your Stanky.

Jess - Did you get yourself an early night? I hope you did. Also hope Tiahna's finger is getting better. Maybe next time DH is on holidays you might need to have an appointment you need to go to all day (or even 2) where you can't take the kids and let him see what its like to look after them and what he gets done during the day. My DH looked after Cameron from Friday night to all of Saturday, and found that exhausting - but he went out on the Saturday (to a friends house) so he didn't get the full effect of what it is like when at home with housework and nobody to amuse Cameron except himself.

NaNa - Sorry your having a hard time with Aadi sleeping. Hope it improves soon for you's. Cameron went through a little faze like that with the crying then laughing when picked him up at the night bed time, it only lasted a week for us though, so hopefully it will be the same for you Yay and oh no on the crawling. It's one of those bitter sweet moments hey, that they've achieved something, but now can't take your eyes off him.

Deancey - I hope your colds subside quickly - I usually get a cold at the change of weather (like the other week when it kept going from hot to cold to hot again). Did you have a nice xmas work dinner? How did your DH go with looking after the boys, hope they were well behaved (sounds like they would've been).

Nikki - How's Abbie? Bet her bruise looks worse today though. We had an incident a few weeks ago when my mum tried to put Cameron in his hichair and kinda scrapped his leg on the tray, the bruise looked worse the next day and seemed to take forever to disappear (poor mum felt so bad - bought her to tears). I also don't always strap Cameron in, especially when I'm sitting right there with him, but will start to now I think. How scary.

Sassy - Sorry you too are getting sick. Hope you feel better soon. IKWYM about the heat, I was sweating when I woke up this morning. It's meant to be even hotter tomorrow. Cheeky Jayda pulling the air wrap off - Cameron also puts his arms and legs on over and on top of his wrap, but thankfully hasn't worked out how to undo it...yet....

Well Cameron's second tooth is coming through. It seems to be different to the first one, as that one did a full cut and seemed to come up all at once, where as this one seems to be coming through slowly with the little grooves on top of the tooth poking through one by one (it's hard to explain but I hope you understand what I mean). He has been sleeping much better over the last few nights, so that tooth must have been bothering him.

Cameron is onto 3 solids and 4 bf's a day. When he wakes, back to between 6-7am again, we do a bf, then 30mins later I give cereal (using that farex with the pear and banana), then he gets fruit about 10.30 (after his morning sleep), then do a bf about 30mins after that. Then he gets another bf about 2 or 3pm depending when he wakes up from his lunch time sleep (which lately has been for about 2hrs), then usually stays awake til I do the vegies (and for the last few days beef and vegies) about 5ish, give him a bath, do another bf about 6-6.30 then he is in bed by 6.30- 7. It seems to be working out well and if DH finishes work on time gets a little cuddle time before Cameron goes to bed (if not I leave a little night light on for him to go give Cameron a kiss goodnight).

Cameron is almost crawling. He does a 2 knee crawl, then falls on his belly to use his arms to pull himself forward, but he is starting to work out how to move his arms too, so I reakon he'll be crawling any day now Have to start looking for a play pen I think, as we have a dog and a doggy door, and I can just see Cameron trying to follow our dog out there one day if I'm not quick enough (we have a 2 story house). I can't block off the lounge room to the kitchen where the doggy door is and our dog is definitely an inside dog (she was our first baby).

Well I'm sweating still, might see if I can squeeze in a quick swim before Cameron wakes.

Have a good day, I'll possibly pop back later.

    Bye for now

Sassy abbie is the same at jayda if she is grumpy during the day she still sleeps excellent at night time, abbie also is not a big sleeper during the day just really naps but is fully recharged after a nap. Its hot here today too, i hope that you feel better soon and take care of yourself. Top o' the mornin to y'all

Cant believe we are up to here already. I love reading all y'all stories! Hawaii would be a lovely place for a holiday and Im so glad the boys behaved for you, makes life so much easier.
Bec - where in China is your MIL coming to teach?

Ollie has had an ear infection, the doc cleaned it and gave us drops to put in, then he got 3 days of fever, now he has cold and cough his brother bought home from kindy. Poor baby. We had just weened him onto bottle and now hes velcro baby with a passion for boobies again. He wont take more then 80mls from a bottle and I have minimal milk left. So just when he was getting good and heavy in time for his 9mth check he has lost weight again. I know he will bounce back, its just this has happened so many times with him. All routine has gone out the window, as we have had DS1 home from kindy with an awful cough. Tomorrow is games day at kindy, parent and kids play games together for the morning atleast. Its a good chance to see the other parents- not that I can talk to them, but I thinkit will still be great fun.

What routines do y'all have? Think now hes hit 9mth Ollies wanting to stay "up" longer but hes also very bored at home but its not possible to go out every day, its really cold here now. wont be a white xmas for us but mayb shortly afterwards.
What are everybodies plans for xmas?

Afternoon Mummas, Well The shops werent too bad... i got in early and picked up laybys 1st then had a squiz around... Then the crouds started getting to me so i split... On the drive hom i saw all these fire trucks and could hear sirens... I found out a plan crashed the suburb over from us... Poor pilot and pasenger died... Scary...

I have few things i still need to get but this yr i havent gone overboard... Just a few pressies and thats it... Jordan has way too much as it is. I feel slack cos i'm used to a HUGE christmas but they'll get heaps from MIL and FIL anyways.

DD's finger is getting better... DS took a fair chunk off but thankfully its healing up ok now. Her 1st boo boo...
She was great at the shops for most of it... I hadher sitting up in a trolley and she was ok until she started getting tired and i went to the Parents room to feed her and was so annoyed to see a group of mums having a freakin mothers meeting in there.... None of them were feeding just using the seats and cubicle so i stood there and waited... DD started screaming and the group of 6 were like "oh sorry do you need to feed" i felt like saying "yeah thats what the cubicles are for... i dont get why people want to hang out in the parent room... i mean go to the food court if you wann eat your lunch and talk to frineds about your babies... Me i like to get in do what i need to and get the hell out... I occasionally feed in the food court but hate the stares... i'm quite *****y nowadays. i end up yelling out to people watching or staring or commenting to each other...

I also hate the comments that start out... Oh she's so cute how old is she" i tell them and get "gosh she's big for her age" i mean if i had a chubber baby i'd be freaking out that she was HUGE... Just like that poor baby on the news and the ABC daycare incident...Its like people dont know what to say..

Sorry for the b!%$&... Last night we didnt get an early night but she did sleep fairly well for her... in bed at 11 then woke at 3 and woke at 5 then 8.30... so EXCELLENT for her...

Sass- I think i have to put my cot down already... I have 2 height adjustments... DD has started trying to pull herself up to look over the side... i'm worried she may climb up soon and fall out...

Mis- maybe stop the solids for a bit to get him going again... also bec's suggestion of metimucil is a good one...

Bec- Cam sounds like a gen... i've been doing the fruit at lunch time aswell... DD is loving nectarines and peaches. i put them in the chew net. so i guess we are doing 2-3 solids a day... still doing lots of BFs though... yesterday after the formula she was a bit spewy but slept well... today however i tried EBM in the same bottle and NOPE... wanted nothing to do with it... its so hit and miss...

Nikki- Glad abbie's arm is looking better. YAY on abbie getting up on her knees... DD is still doing the same weird unco looking crawl thing... Its great when they start showing signs but you soon start thinking... "why did you have to learn... LOL

    Good afternoon

Jess i am glad the shops were good for you, how annoying i don't know why people would want to sit in the mothers room and have a chat really i can think of better places. Good on you for being persistant.
Sassy and jess i never had abbies cot on th higher level, cause i never put it down between lachlan and abbie i just left it up i never changed it. It was toooooo hard going from he higher level to the lower level with lachlan that i never bothered. I would definitly put it down now though cause you don't want ot walk in there one morning and she be half out or on the floor. They are getting to the stage now where things come so quickly soon enough they will be walking and i know we don't want to think about that god help us !!!!!!!
Do people really say how big she is i don't think she is that big she looks about the same size as abbie and i always get how dainty she is???????????? Glad that Tiahna slept well last night, and it was abbie's first boo boo too hers was a bruise but still poor little girls

Does everyone realise that this time last year we were all hanging out to find out the sex of our babies, and a year later we are waiting for our babies to crawl etc etc

DoubleTrouble lol so funny i was thinking i was in the wrong thread cause i had no idea what you were talking about.

hope everyone else is well talksoon

    Hi All,

Have a little spare time on my hands again so thought I'd just check in.

DoubleTrouble - the answer to your question if you pop back in here = my MIL will be teaching in Xi'an at some college - can't remember the name, she taught there in 2006 and 2007. And back in 2005 she was up north, closer to the russian border - something like shinyang - not sure of the spelling.

Nikki - Just realised you are in Brisbane, where abouts are you? I grew up in the Logan area, moved to Gold Coast in 2001. Did you manage a swim? I did have a quick dip (though needn't had hurried as Cameron didn't wake for another 30mins after that) and just came up from another, was nice. Glad Abbie's bruise is on the mend.

Jess - I thought Tiahna sounded similar in size to Cam, which I thought was more on the smaller side, not the bigger. Maybe those people need glasses. Something that seems to avoid such comments for us seems to be when I put the muslin wrap over his pram, it kinda covers him a little, therefore people are less likely to peek (they probably think I'm trying to get him to sleep or something). I then pull it all the way over when he sleeps. Also on the lowering of the cot, DH did ours on the weekend too, as Cam is starting to get stronger at trying to pull himself up.

Question - has anybody started to give there bubs meat? If so what and how did you prepare it?

Well I can hear Cameron talking and giggling away in there, better go see what's so amusing.

    Bye for now

    Hi Everyone
Had a very tiring night and absolutely exhausting day but am glad its nearly over. Have been shopping for 7 hours today and he has been great, dragged from carrier to pram to car seat, poked and talked too by so many strangers ewww.
Hamish has his top teeth nearly through so he woke during the night screaming and stupid me had no sm33 left or panadol so had to use bonjella which is useless for him. So first thing this morning i was off to chemist to stock up. When he got his bottom 2 he had only one bad night so hopefully *cross fingers* he had it last night, he has been very good really as i can imagine how painful it must be for them. I just read a huge article about new research into foods for babies and omg they are now saying to introduce pretty much everything early as they have discovered children who are not introduced to certain foods early are he ones that have allergy's etc. It is a really interesting read actually. With Maddi when she was a baby i gave her everything and solids at 4 months, she has no allergys and is very healthy, i know there are alot of children with allergys and it makes you wonder. Anyway i think we can safely say i dont really think they always know everything as every few years there is a new study and new findings.

LMK ikwym i cant believe how time has flown.
Jess i am glad shopping went well for you, i am almost done, except for a couple that i am getting boxing day when the sales are on as we wont see dp's family until that night and we already know what we are getting and have been told by a friend to wait as they are $50 cheaper on boxing day so we will wait. Have told dp not to buy me anything either as things are a bit tigh with Maddi starting Secondary School and we bought her a fan Bl**dy tastic Asis Laptop for christmas, well its for school as she is in Bline class (use laptops for majority of work), she will be so suprised and happy, i would love to keep it myself. How are things going with you? Hope Tiahna's arm is healing and as for your Dh Grrr to him for blaming you, Bl**dy men.
NaNa i hope aadi is sleeping better for you.
Bec Hamish also has 3 solid feeds and 4 bf a day, it seems to be working well, although i sometimes give him a little fruit through out the day also. i have given Hamish grilled fish just in pan with a little olive oil and steamed chicken.
Mis i hope you work stankys constipation out soon.
Sass Jayda sounds like a little houdini lol
Deancey glas to here liam is going well.

Ok i best be off to get ready for another christmas party, Hamish will be over Santa soon.

    in love. lots of it.

just a quick one before I pull my laptop apart and pack it away...
I shouldn't complain about DS's no-sleep thing. He's always happy, but I just find it hard to maintain a cheery mood when I'm shattered... He'll get the hang of it one day. Our routine's going out the window again tomorrow, as we'll be away from home for 3 weeks. The book I ordered on sleep ideas hasn't arrived yet (will turn up tomorrow after I leave, no doubt!) but there's nothing I can do on holidays anyway. Everything will be different.
Last night DS wasn't interested in dinner. Tonight he gobbled up a bowl of porridge (all I had left - had to empty the fridge!) and then screamed for more. Gobbled up another bowl and screamed again for more. I had to rummage thru the suitcase to find the packet I'd put aside and make another bowl! It was insane... a friend rang inthe middle of all this and coz DP answered my phone, she thought I was murdering him, he was screaming so much. I've never had such a response to my cooking in all my years as a chef! lol
anyways, I'll try and be back in a few days, but no promises. I'm hanging out to hand the kid over to willing grandparents (or even strangers) real soon! I need a few minutes shut-eye, under a mango tree please...
    Sorry no personals. I'm exhaustipated!
    Take care all!

WOW i get a kinda early night and you all post... LOL... Usually i'm sitting up on here waiting to get to sleep and no one is to be seen...

Well dont want to brag or make others feel worse but i just have to share...

    YAY WOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOO

i feel like going out side and screaming out WooHoo... i feel so great so re energised cos ..... wait for it..... DD slept
    ALLL NIGHT

I'm still in shock i think... After a bad time trying to get her to sleep... I think she wasnt used to DP being here cos he's been on night and not in the ned when we have our last BF and cuddle... She refused to go to sleep, pulled off roled over to DP kickin him and pinching him rolling back suking a little just to start over at comming off again... this went on for 40 mins and i had enough and put her in her cot at 10.20 and 6 times i have to go back in put music on and it wasnt working... I got out this winnie the pooh thing jordan used to have its a light show on the roof and music... well after 4 times of this she finally went to sleep. Then DPs alarm went off at 5 and woke me up instantly... I looked around was confused a bit then he told me to go back to sleep... i then woke to hear DD crying so went in she'd pooped, massive po-splosion... OMG filled the nappy sorry... Never had one like that and so big... ewwweee... when i walked out to the lounge room i realised it was 8am... Woo Hoo... I feel like a person this morning... And DD is just so happy... Singing out and playing already... Its fantastic... I knowit wont last but i really needed this...

I feel bad especially for you NaNa- I know youre having big issues with sleep still... i wish you too could get even 1 night like i did... I'll send all my positive energy to you and that Aadi gives you one soon.. Also have a FANTASTIC holiday.... I hope you get a break and the Family helps out so you can enjoy... Be a good boy for NaNa Aadi...

Mis- you dont have to stop the solids for ever just a day or 2 to give him a chance to clear the bowel... The blockage will just get worse the more solid food you pack in IYKWIM. also if he's straining TOO much and your worried you could also try supositries (spl) Like if he is real bad... we've never gotten to that thankfully. I too miss my precious baby girl... She was so tiny and dependant on me... Now she wants to do things herself... I gave her a little cup with juice in it yesterday (watered down) everytime i tryed to help she's squeel arch her back and get cranky but if i didnt she would try and try... Also IKWUM about being preggas at the begining of the yr... Its crazy... its flown past no way does it feel like almost 7 months...

Abb- EWWEE about the strangers... IKWYM... I had DD is the trolley sitting up and the were touching her and tickling her cos she was so smily... now i know why i take the pram... I drape the sheet over so no one can see too... We had some teething issues lyesterday also... DD is getting a top one too... Its weird i saw the lumps at the front and not like the bottom where they come through the middle of the gum these top one come out like near the front of the gum... Is that weird or is it just DD's teeth... one has cut through just and i think that was why the afternoon was so bad... I wiah i had money left for boxing day sales but I'm all out... I'm sure Maddi will love the laptop... not looking forward to all the cost of Secondary school... Arrgghhh
With DP i think he realised after he got home from work... He's been saying sorry to DD about her finger and kissing it better... He isnt the type to show emotions so i think it was his way of taking the responsibility without actually admitting he's done the wrong thing...

Bec- DD isnt big at all... She's long but i didnt think she was a BIG baby... She wouldnt be much more then 7 1/2 kg by now and is in the average weight range for her age so its not like she's on the high end of the scale... i think people just forget how quick babies grow... She's not chubby i think she looks small compared to other babies... With the meat q... I have DD a long strip of beef last night... (we had beef strog..) i watched her close... she just chomped a bit and sucked on it... didnt actually get any off and if she did it was minimal... I just wanted her to see what we were chewing on and get a new taste... I've given her chicken and if you count the jars of stuff that is suposed to have meat in it???...

Nikki- i recorded the boo boo in the baby book... LOL... Just a memory... it wont be the last time her big brother hurts her... but i thought i'd record it...

well best be off Ds has his last day of DC for the yr... YAY... and Boo Hoo at the same time... it means no more one on one time with DD until they come back ... oh well he'll soon have plenty of new things to keep him occupied.

Jess well done, you will feel all recharged for once. Fingers crossed it happens again for you tonight.

I also feel great this morning, no rush to get organised as school is finished for the year so we are all slabbed out in our pj's still, its great to not have the rush. Hamish woke at 6.30 had a feed and now is back in bed. Have a christmas party at the park with friends at lunchtime which will be good and tonight i have organised a little graduation get together with Maddi's friends which i am hoping they behave, 27 - 12/13 year olds can get into trouble i am sure. Will need to keep a close eye on them, taking them to play mini golf and jumping pillow thing.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

    Hi All,

Jess - Tiahna for not waking up last night. Hope it continues for you's. I hear you on wanting to give the xmas presents already. Cameron's received quite a few already from friends and family, but I've put them under the tree - he'll just have to wait til xmas day like I use to (but geez it's tempting to open them, but I won't, or maybe 1 won't hurt, no Bec no...)

Nikki - also a to you for Abbie sleeping while you were out at dinner, don't you love it when that happens.

Mis - Grr to your ex. Oh well, are you on that forced leave yet, if you are at least you'll get even more time with your little Stanky. Also yay on Stanky going to sleep all on his own yesterday, hope it continues for you.

Abb - Hope you've had fun at your christmas parties and that your daughter and her friends didn't cause too much trouble for you. On the food, at our parent class they said that too, to introduce everything earlier, as less likely to cause allergies. I know my mum introduced everything early and we turned out ok (no allergies).

NaNa - hope you have a good holiday. DH was up at Noosa today (working), it was very warm there today (and here too). I'm sure the grandparents will be happy to have Aadi cuddles while you get some you time (hope so anyway).

It was rather warm here today. Cameron was good again waking at 7, but I decided I wouldn't give him any food this morning as he hadn't pooped for a day and a half, so wanted to give tummy a rest from the farex. Took my metamucil this morning too (and it worked, big explosion tonight just before bed, thanks Dh for cleaning that one). He slept from 9 til 11 - so did I as I didn't sleep well last night again - another one of my friends found out she has cancer, she is 42. This seems to be just confined to her foot, so hopefully they can just cut it out and it hasn't affected anywhere else. Damn Cancer .

Anyways after he woke, we fed and I gave him some pear (figured it might help). Buy 1pm he was grumpy so I tried to put him to bed, he wouldn't give so I gave him a formula bottle. He still wouldn't sleep, so by 2.30, I'd had enough of waiting for him to nod off to go for a swim that I ended up taking him in the pool. This was an accomplishment for me as I've previously been to scared in case something went wrong and being home alone. But it was fine and Cameron seemed to enjoy it, it was soo hot today that I think he was too uncomfortable to sleep. After he had another little bf and fell asleep while feeding, he slept til 5, then we did the usual play, solid, bath, bottle and bed. It worked out well as he was still awake when DH got home for a change.

Well that's all for me for now. Better go, have kinda been typing this while trying to watch the Santa Clause 2. I love Christmas movies, especially santa ones. Can't wait to share these moments with Cameron. I'm a big kid really .

    Bye for now

Something about the sunshine makes DS sleep!! Just had to come back here and tell you all! I think we all needed a holiday, change of scene or something, in order to get some rest. Yesterday it was freezing and raining when we left Melbs, DS fell asleep just before we boarded the plane and slept until 20 minutes before we landed, so nearly 2 hours. He napped again in the car on the way up to my mum's place, and again in the afternoon. He was absolutely perfect, no tanrums or anything, despite being confined and restrained from 7am to about 2.30pm. Last night he slept from... hang on, time difference... 8.30 till 3.30, had a feed and back to sleep until 6.30! He's had 2 short naps today, and now he's been down for an hour and a half. It was STINKING HOT here yesterday, at least 37 degrees... but it must have been what he needed to knock him back into sleepy-time!
I'm still not quite able to hand him over to relatives for a bit of time out, since there's only my mum and her partner here, and they've just moved into this place so they're still unpacking and busy getting ready for the 40-odd friends and ferals coming for christmas! madness... but I'm relaxed already anyway. It's great not having to wear (and wash) loads of clothes for a change. DS has been in just a nappy since we arrived!

Jess - yay for you!! welcome back to the real world where people sleep. It feels a bit wierd, doesn't it??
Bec - good on your DH for cleaning up! Mine carries on so much if he happens to have to change a messy nappy... such a sissy! lol. Hope everything's ok for your friend. I found out yesterday that two of my friends have lymphoma, and as soon as we got in the car at the airport we got a phone call from the hospital where my great aunt is in care, (she's had a stroke) and she is deteriorating rapidly. Chances are there will be a funeral before I go home, and that just sucks. She's the last of my living relatives of that generation. Hooray for holidays... blah.
Nikki - wow, Abbie's so good! Great that you could enjoy your night out with no problems at all.
Mis - thanks, will try! Enjoy some extra time with your little man, hope things get back to normal with the food & poop thang! (Ha! bet you never thought you'd hear that!) It's no fun tho when they're grumpy and blocked up. No surprises with your XP, hey? Typical...
Abb - you're a brave lady, taking on that many teenage girls!! Bravo! Good luck. Just the thought of it terrifies me! I bet Maddi will be totally stoked with the laptop. Awesome.

OK, I have to go lie on the grass under a tree and do nothing for a full 5 minutes. I'd kill for a mango daquiri... and a massage... but maybe I wont have to. Hahaaa!
