Jodi- Yep Amelie has still been screaming everynight. In the end I calm her down enough so she is quiet then put her in her cot and as soon as I close the door she starts again. So I have been leaving her 10mins and she is asleep before the time is up but that is sooo hard when she is really screaming and real tears so heatbreaking. I hope it ends soon. We are going away tomorrow to so it will be hell trying to deal with it at someone elses place.
blanche - Nina's first words were 'mum' but Emily's were 'bubba', and now it's 'dad'. Still no mum
kristale - When Nina was about 4 months old, she was doing the same thing as Amelie is doing. We went away for a week, and stayed with friends, and it was so hard trying to settle her in someone else's house. It did my head in. Hopefully you have an easier time with it. Enjoy your trip.

Jodi: well done on b/f for as long as you did. Know what you mean about it taking all your iron, think that mine must be low as I always feel stuffed. Haven't been sure whether it could do with my dodgy gall bladder so think I;ll wait till I have that out next week and if my energy levels are no better after that, will have to see a doc about it. How did emily go weaning onto formula??
Kristale: hOpe Amelie settles down for you especially while your away. Theres nothing more likely to stress you out than a bub that wont settle easily in front of family & friends. Good luck.
My goodness I can't some of the bubs are already talking too. Macey is very vocal but hasn't resembled any part of a word yet just lots of squeaks & squeals.
I;m madly trying to build a supply of expressed milk as I go into hosp next Thurs lunchtime to have my gall bladder taken out via keyhole surgery which I'm starting to really crap my pants about now. best case scenario, I'll only miss 2 feeds + a night one if she wakes and should be back home Friday but will not be able to lift or drive for at least a fortnight. Am just praying that i'll be able to manage to keep feeding thru it. Will just be glad to have it all over & done with.
ok need to run & get Harry to bed and Macey some lunch. Think I might try her on some yoghurt today. Would be great for her if it hekps with poos as she is still a little clogged up. will try anf come back later :-)
I'm so jealous of all your bubba's that are rolling already! Joshua just likes to lay on his backs and wave his arms and legs in the air. He is enjoying tummy time so much more now, especially if I get down on the floor with him. He just cracks up laughing. It's so funny.
The past two weeks he has not wanted to sleep during the day. It's really frustrating because I can't get anything done! But today finally he fell asleep in the car on the way home from the shops and he stayed asleep when I put him in his cot wooot!! We've got a big weekend ahead and I want him to sleep a bit so he's not cranky!
Tomorrow we are getting his hand and foot castings done, then tomorrow night is our work xmas function. Sunday morning we are going to a friends naming ceremony and Sunday night we've got dinner at the inlaws....busy busy...
Joshua has loved the solids. I tasted the rice cereal and it tastes revolting! But he likes it so that's the main thing Going to try him on pumpkin on the weekend. He gets excited when I put his bib on, sit him on my lap and then his eyes light up as soon as he sees his spoon and cup.
We went to the paed for a check up today and she's really pleased with everything, so thats good.
Laranna - you must be so thrilled with the ok from the paed. You've done a brilliant job.
Jodi - I'm sorry you've had to stop bfeeding earlier than you wanted to but it sounds like you've made a very good decision. Hopefully Emily will come out with a mumma for you soon!

I'm not having any luck at all with Elena on solids. I've tried rice cereal, pumpkin, sweet potato, potato, pear and apple and she won't have any of it in her mouth. The only thing she has chewed on is a piece of garlic bread that her sister gave her while I wasn't watching last Friday!! Must be the butter I think. Maybe I should just go straight to pizzas with her??? Otherwise, she's had a huge weekend. Saturday she hauled herself up on the sofa and started taking some very wobbly steps and now there's no keeping her off her feet. She started babbling bubba and mumma and then I discovered at the end of the day that her first tooth has poked through too. Quite a day for one small person. She has also become as addicted to In the Night Garden as Isabelle is. Very funny seeing them sitting side by side watching it in the mornings. Still, its great to get as much as half an hour where I can get some things done.

Just a quick one as I am still sick with the flu (it's been nearly 3 weeks now ). Joshua loved his pumpkin and we tried sweet potato this morning and he loved that too. Makes it easy that he is enjoying solids.
Castings went well, I hope they turn out. It will take 4 weeks to get them.
Had a hectic weekend but it was all good. MIL gave Joshua an early Christmas present and he loves it. It's a fisher price sing along choo choo animal train. Now I have the animal song it plays stuck in my head all day!

hey Jess. Good to hear you're still b/f. I hope the supply issues sort themselves out.
Took Emmie to the dr about her rash. It looks like it's clearing, but there are some areas where it looks like blood blister type things. The dr said that's most likely due to restricted blood flow. I've got to keep an eye on it for the next couple of days, and if it spreads, or gets worse, have to take her for a blood test. Hopefully it won't come to that.
But she's back to her happy little self again. Rolling around all over the floor as I type this. She keeps looking at the tv and laughing! She's sleeping on her tummy each time she's in bed now, and she's really keen to get moving and play with her big sister.
eta: laranna, hope you get better soon. I bought that train for Emily for Christmas!
Jodi - I hope Emily's rash doesn't get any worse. Poor little poppet. At least she's happy with it so that's good. I'm glad her transition to formula has gone well and great news that you're feeling better. Its hard not being able to feed your bubba but everybody has to be happy and healthy. Thanks for the idea about trying different kinds of food - I've tried mainly home cooked so far but with one jar of stuff. Might have to try other jars. Her tongue pushes the spoon out so I'm wondering if her gag reflex is still too strong?
Laranna - sounds like Joshua is doing brilliantly on solids. I know what you mean about that train song - Izzy got the train for Christmas last year and OMG the songs really do get stuck in your head. You know you've heard it too much when you start humming it while wandering around Coles!! I hope you're feeling better soon.
Kristale - great that Amelia has stopped screaming. Its frustrating when they stir enough to wake you isn't it but the great news is that she's learning to settle herself. Ellie went through this phase a few weeks ago and is now sleeping through so hang in there. Uninterrupted sleep is within your reach
Elena now has two teeth, which have played havoc with early evening times. She's so miserable and we're finding we have to give her nurofen and bonjela around 10pm to give her some relief so she can get to sleep. Poor poppet. And only another 18 odd months of teething to go!!
Beck - best wishes for the op...I am sure everything will go well. Thinking of you.
Jodi - I hope Emily's rash clears up soon and I hope you are able to catch up on some sleep today.
Lulu - I find myself singing the songs all day, he loves the train though. No sign of teeth for Joshua. I hope the teething gets easier for Elena.
Tried Joshua on sweet potato yesterday and he loves that too. So far we've had rice cereal, pumpkin and sweet potato. Next I think we'll try regular potato and then move on to the fruits.
This morning he rolled over from back to tummy for the first time! I think he finds this easier to do than going from tummy to back which is odd because I thought going from tummy to back was easier for them.
I was up half the night coughing and feeling blergh. Luckily Joshua still slept through it all. I ended up getting up and sleeping on the couch so I didn't wake up DP and Joshua. Can't stop coughing today, it's driving me up the wall.
